Viki: These are beautiful. Thank you so much. They look like they came straight from the garden.
Natalie: Well, straight from the greenhouse.
Viki: They're lovely, so spring-like. Thank you.
Natalie: You're welcome.
Viki: Let me see if I can find something out here that I can put them in.
Natalie: Hey, did Jess leave for the campus already?
Viki: Yeah. She was actually going to stop by and see Antonio and Jamie on the way.
Natalie: Oh, good. Mom?
Natalie: Now, you know that you've been asked this a million times and you're probably sick of hearing it, but how are you feeling?
Viki: Honey, Iím a lot better, ok? I'm taking my medicine, I'm eating right, I'm exercising, I'm doing absolutely everything the doctor told me to.
Natalie: Good. So I guess having Jess live here, it's working out.
Viki: You know I don't need a 24-hour nursemaid. I really donít. I feel badly that Jessica is not with Antonio, you know? She belongs with him in their home.
Natalie: What, I mean, Jess is going to be here a month, two maybe. I'm sure Antonio and Jamie can survive.
Antonio: Whoa. Hey, hey. What's this? All right, ok. No, I see how you're going to be. All right. Come on, this is like a --
Antonio: Hello. Yeah. Oh, hey, Mami. No. No. Le estoy dando comida a la nena. Si. Te puedo llamar por atras? Can I call you back? Hey.
Jessica: Look at you. You look good enough to eat. How are you?
Antonio: Yeah. Well --
Jessica: Oh, carrots are her favorite, aren't they, sweetie?
Antonio: Mm-hmm, her favorite weapon. Come on. Toma. Toma, mira, toma.
Jessica: Antonio, is there something burning?
Nora: The 6:10 train leaves for the Big Apple. Bo and Matthew are meeting me at the station. I had to come here to do one last bit of filing. That's my excuse. What's yours?
John: I work here now, remember?
Nora: How long have you been out of the hospital, John?
John: Long enough.
Nora: Oh, man, John --
John: I couldn't do another day in that room.
Nora: God. You take care of yourself, please.
Kelly: How many times are you going to read that article?
Kevin: Oh, a story about a stupid investigation of Buchanan Enterprises. You ought to be prepared if other media get a hold of it.
Kelly: I don't know why they would. That was months ago. Nothing came of it.
Kevin: Yeah, well, Todd Manning managed to make it news again. He did a feature on high-profile corporations overstating profits, used Buchanan Enterprises as a local angle. Ridiculous.
Kelly: And now you have to deal with the fallout.
Kevin: Well, maybe you're right. Maybe there won't be any. Hey, there, little guy. Can I have him?
Kelly: Mm-hmm. He looks like he's about to knock out. Whoo.
Kevin: We don't care what's in the paper, do we? No, we donít. Wow, God, I think he got bigger since breakfast.
Todd: Yeah, your stomach hurts. Smoking's not so cool, is it? Yeah, I hate the Emergency Room, too. Do you ever want to go back there? Good, then don't ever smoke again. I know you're scared. If that happens, tell your mom or contact me, ok? Ok. That a girl. Bye for now.
Mrs. Bigelow: We have a problem.
Mrs. Bigelow: There's a big Buchanan out there who doesn't believe you're not at your desk.
Todd: Mrs. Bigelow, Iíve told you to never let Kevin Buchanan in this office again.
Mrs. Bigelow: It's not Kevin.
Asa: You listen to me, Manning, and damn it, you listen good, because when I'm done with you, you're going to be real sorry you ever met me.
Todd: Well, I was sorry years ago, Asa.
Dorian: We have a few things we need to discuss.
Blair: Ok, well, let's go get a table, shall we?
Dorian: Can you explain to me why Todd was such a regular visitor at our house while I was away?
Blair: Todd is Starrís father and you know what she's been through, Dorian.
Dorian: Yes, so why not turn to your own family?
Blair: Oh, let me think here. Maybe you were gone. Maybe Kelly was off having a baby. Starr needs her father. She trusts him.
Dorian: Why encourage her to rely on a man who shouldn't even be walking the streets?
Blair: Ok, I want to talk to you about Todd.
Dorian: Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. Don't you tell me that you're taking him back?
Antonio: Un segundito, mi amor, ok? Un segundito, un segundito. Ok?
Jessica: Hey. Do you want me to make some more eggs?
Antonio: No. They were for later. I'll make Jamie something else.
Jessica: Well, do you have any more pants? How many more do you have?
Antonio: Very funny. You know, this was your fault, you know?
Jessica: Oh, really?
Jessica: How was this my fault?
Antonio: Well, I -- I lost concentration when you came in.
Antonio: Yeah, really.
Jessica: Yeah, that's what happened, I'm sure.
Antonio: Because I missed you so much. But I also know that you can't leave your mother alone right now.
Jessica: So then, why don't you change your mind? Why don't you and Jamie stay with me at Llanfair?
Viki: Well, according to Jessica, John wouldn't even be alive if you hadn't come along when you did.
Natalie: Oh, that was total luck. I mean I walked out into Rodiís alleyway, and there was John just lying there. I mean I did what anybody would have done. Let me help you.
Viki: Right. You sat by his bedside all night long.
Natalie: He was all alone. I couldn't just leave him there. His mom was at work.
Viki: Sweetie, it's ok. I know that you care about him.
Natalie: Yeah, I -- I care about him. It's just confusing. You know, I -- I sometimes think that we could be more than just friends, and then -- and then I start to miss Cristian and -- I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if I'm ever going to be able to move on with anyone.
Viki: Of course you will, sweetie. It takes time.
Natalie: Yeah, well, it doesn't matter. John's not interested, anyway.
Viki: How do you know that? Have you talked to him?
Natalie: No. No. I went straight for the kiss, instead. He said, "Thanks, but, no, thanks." I mean, he was totally nice about it, but -- I guess John -- he's just not -- he's not ready for anything else, either, not since Caitlin died, his fiancťe.
Viki: Or maybe he's a little bit like you.
Natalie: And how is that?
Viki: Maybe he can't admit his own feelings, even to himself.
Nora: Got to take care of that file now, will you, please?
Marcie: I will, yeah. Good luck on that dance contest.
Nora: Hey, can't let Matthew down, huh?
Marcie: You two have it in the bag. You just get out there and show them how it's done.
Nora: Yeah, babe, there you go. Back again. Bye-bye.
John: I'm almost afraid to ask. What contest?
Marcie: It's a dance contest that Noraís entering with the Commissioner.
John: I almost wish that was local.
Michael: What are you doing back at work, John?
John: I said I could. Is that ok? I'm fine, Michael.
Michael: Oh, so you're a doctor now?
Marcie: I tried to tell him, but he wouldn't listen to me.
Michael: Well, he doesn't listen to anyone. Hi.
Marcie: Hi. Oh.
Marcie: That's ok.
Marcie: I got it.
Dorian: Oh, yes, here we go again. The memories start to fade, you forget about all the bad things that Todd has ever done to you, and that's when he really wears you down.
Blair: Ok, ok, ok, ok. I am not getting back together with Todd, all right? But I'm not going to continue to fight with him, either. You've seen my daughter and you see what that trial did to her and you know that we will wind up back in court fighting over custody.
Dorian: And that's why you have to stay strong, though why anybody would give Todd custody of those children when they know what he did to you --
Blair: Well, I'm not insisting that he raped me anymore.
Dorian: Excuse me?
Blair: The tumor may have caused me -- it may have altered my perception, all right?
Blair: Look, can you just hear me? Please, just hear me out. I'm not saying that I wasn't raped, because that's what I think happened.
Dorian: It did.
Blair: Well, the doctors say that I could have gotten it wrong.
Dorian: That's ridiculous. It's absolutely -- I don't understand. I have only been gone for what? One week, and Todd has managed to do this to you?
Todd: Upset, eh? Well, we did our job. The story's good, and you know it, and I'm going to stand by it.
Asa: When Viki gets a load of that bull, you're not going to be standing, but you're going to be lucky if you're sitting on a curb in the damn street.
Todd: Why don't you show me one word that's inaccurate? Enron, WorldCom, and then Buchanan Enterprises.
Asa: You know that we were completely cleared, and you know that damn well.
Todd: Maybe that was edited out, but we got a nice local angle, didn't we?
Asa: You really think that Viki is going to let you use her newspaper to attack her son and my damn company?
Todd: Why don't you send a letter to the op-ed page?
Asa: There's something you don't know. "The Banner" does not and will not print a lie, unlike that rag you used to own, "The Sun," which Kevin bought out right from under you.
Todd: Mrs. Bigelow, the big Buchanan is leaving now by whatever means necessary, all right? Thank you.
Asa: I'll be watching you, Manning, and if I see anything rising like a tiny speck of dirt against any Buchanan, I'm going to have you shipped to Texas, one-way trip. You got me? And I'll tell you something else. I should have done it years ago.
Mrs. Bigelow: Now?
Todd: Yeah, make the call.
Viki: You know if you have stuff to do, I'm really ok.
Natalie: You trying to get rid of me, mom?
Viki: No. Of course not. I just don't want you and Jessica giving up your lives for me, you know. I mean, I hate it that she's separated from Antonio, because they've been so happy since she moved in there. Oh, darling, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.
Natalie: Don't apologize, mom. It's not like you. I mean, I am happy for them. It's just seeing them together sometimes, I remember, you know? He'll whisper in her ear, and she'll laugh, they'll fight over the remote, and I start to miss Cristian. Actually, sometimes I wonder if that's maybe why I'm trying to make something with John.
Viki: Oh, honey, it's a natural reaction, and you must be awfully lonely without Cristian. But at the same time, it's probably just as well not to rush into a new relationship.
Natalie: I know. I hope I don't lose John as a friend. I'm such an idiot.
Viki: No, you're not an idiot. You're far from it. And let me tell you something. He understands your pain. John went through the same thing. And you know what? Sometimes, frequently friendships develop into something much deeper, you know? They do. So, I mean, you care about John, that's good, but there's no hurry why don't you just enjoy being his friend and get to know him. At the same time, you can take some time to see what's really in your heart.
Michael: You know you're here against doctor's orders, John?
John: You're right, Marcie. I've been warned.
Michael: Well, I'm going to have to put it in your file that you came back to work A.M.A. I don't need Dr. Long getting on my case about anything else.
John: Is that your boss?
Michael: Hmm, Chief of Staff.
John: What? He's giving you a hard time?
Michael: No, not just me.
Marcie: He's a real jerk.
John: Yeah? You know this guy?
Marcie: No, but I've heard enough about him.
Michael: You know what it is? It's the things that this guy gets mad at me about, you know? Like, I was interested in one of his cases, so I asked to see the patient's file. The guy flips out on me, very weird, and it's never happened with any other doctor on staff.
Michael: Maybe he's threatened by you, Michael, you know? Afraid you'll find something that he didnít. Look Iím sorry to run, but I got this meeting in Forensics, ok?
Michael: Yeah. Hey, listen, John --
John: Bye, Michael.
Daniel: You seen Nora?
Marcie: She stopped by, but she left a couple of minutes ago.
Daniel: If she comes back, tell her I'm looking for her, ok?
Marcie: Ok. Oh, hey, Mr. Colson, well, I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions. I want to know how the D.A.'s office prepares a case for prosecution, and I just -- it's only going to take a couple of minutes, if you could look at the questions?
Daniel: Uh -- Marcie, there must be 20 questions on the first page.
Marcie: Well --
Daniel: Do you know how long it would take to go over all this?
Marcie: Well, you don't have to answer all of them. Any time that you could give me, I would really --
Daniel: Marcie, Marcie, you want to know the law? Go to law school.
Marcie: "You want to know the law? Go to law school." Ugh.
Michael: What a jerk.
Marcie: You know what? I don't know why I showed him the questions.
Michael: Well, he didn't have to be such a jerk about it.
Marcie: Yeah, you know what, though? I'm glad I did, because anything he says can go right into my novel.
Michael: So, you're not working tonight?
Marcie: No, but you are.
Michael: Right. I'll see you later.
Marcie: Ok. Michael? Is something going on?
Michael: What makes you think something going on?
Dorian: What happened? Did you have this sudden revelation that Toddís version of what happened that night was true?
Blair: No, Dorian. What I said is that I thought he was making love to me. That's what I said.
Dorian: But you believed he raped you.
Blair: I'm not saying that he didn't rape me!
Dorian: But now you're not saying that he did!
Blair: Ok, ok, you know what I'm saying? Just drop it, please shut up, and let it all be over with, please?
Dorian: Nothing has changed, nothing. Ok, Todd is still dangerous. He is going to lie to you again. He is going to try and kidnap your children again. Don't let him do this, Blair. Please, don't go back to him. Stay at home with me.
Jessica: I could cut class.
Antonio: No, honey, I can't let you do that.
Jessica: Oh. Fine, ok. So if you won't stay with me at Llanfair, can I at least have a date with you later, please?
Antonio: You are on.
Antonio: Ok, you do understand why I can't stay with you?
Jessica: Yeah, yeah, yeah -- you don't feel comfortable, and I get it, I get it. Listen, I still say you don't know until you try, but I give up. It's fine, ok? So bye.
Antonio: Bye. See you later.
Antonio: I'm coming, Jamie, I'm coming. Hold on, baby. Ok. Hey, here you go, hmm? Mira.
Antonio: Mami, I told you I'd call you back. Yeah. Yeah, ok. Buchanan Enterprises, yeah. Listen, I don't know how you got this number, but what makes you think that this is a police matter? There's no way. No, I know that woman, and she would never -- all right. All right. What'd you say your name was? Harry Mackenzie. All right, Mr. Mackenzie. You better have some serious evidence to back this up.
Mrs. Bigelow: You did fine, Mr. Mackenzie. Mr. Manning will be happy.
Mr. Mackenzie: Sure got that detective's attention, huh? But he wants evidence.
Mrs. Bigelow: Not a concern of yours. Your concern now is to make sure you sell the story, hmm?
Marcie: John, legally speaking, do you have to read the suspects their rights at the scene of the arrest?
John: You have to Mirandize before you question them. Where it happen--
John: Mirandize, right. Like reading the Miranda rights?
John: We usually like to videotape that. Where it happens, it doesn't matter.
Marcie: Well, in a murder case, do you usually suspect the immediate family first?
John: It's good to try to clear them first. More often than not, it ends up being someone in the family.
Marcie: That's sad.
John: You need to get that?
Marcie: Oh. Right. Sorry.
Marcie: Llanview Police Department.
Natalie: Hey. I figured you'd be right back to work. How are you?
John: Not bad. Thanks for asking, yeah.
Natalie: Got time for lunch?
John: Well, Bo's not in, so I really shouldn't go anywhere.
Natalie: Don't have to. Please? I really need to talk to you.
Kelly: You should have heard him this afternoon.
Kelly: He was just screaming.
Kevin: Just like you when you sleep, look.
[Kevin and Kelly laugh]
Kelly: Oh, what a sweet doll.
Asa: Well, how was your day, little fellow, huh? I bet a lot better than mine. I do believe he is the spitting image of you.
Kevin: Yeah. Where'd you go?
Asa: "The Banner."
Kevin: You went to see Todd?
Asa: You're damn right.
Kevin: Grandpa, you cannot go to the media without consulting with me.
Asa: The media? Please. Manning does not deserve to even have a paper route.
Kevin: I don't like it any better than you do, but he is Editor in Chief now. I realize that that story didn't show B.E. in the best light, but I say we should still ignore it.
Asa: That sidewinder is starting to shake his rattles. And you had better cut his head off before he strikes.
Kevin: What would you like me to do?
Asa: I'd like you to talk some sense into your mother. She won't listen to a damn thing I say.
Kevin: Well, I'm going over but I don't think it's the time.
Asa: You tell her this -- if she won't fire him, get a choke chain with a short leash.
Kevin: All right, I'll make sure she knows. See you later.
Kelly: Love you.
Asa: Kelly, you should talk to him.
Kelly: Kevin can handle Todd.
Asa: If anybody in this family sees Manning in their rearview mirror, that snake is too damn close.
Blair: Come on, I'm not going to get back with Todd ever. There you go.
Dorian: He's not going to stop trying.
Blair: Well, you know what? He's not going to succeed. Starr needs her father, and I actually think that he could be good for her. Don't, Dorian. Don't -- don't even think it.
Dorian: Do not come anywhere near her, Todd, or so help me, I'll call the police.
Todd: Back off, Dorian. I'm here to meet somebody.
Todd: I didn't quote you anywhere.
Margaret: You said "a source at Buchanan Enterprises."
Todd: Right, kept you anonymous.
Margaret: But you told me you were looking for background -- off the record. I mean this is everything I said.
Todd: A lot of this stuff is public record, and I didn't use your name.
Margaret: If this gets back to Kevin Buchanan, he'll fire me. I told you about my mom, how she really needs me right now.
Todd: You have nothing to worry about. Yes, Kevin is going to find out who's responsible for this story, but I promise you, it's not going to be you.
Viki: So how is Ace?
Kevin: Oh, Ace is amazing. He's -- he's incredible. I mean, you can't look at him and be unhappy. I mean, you could, but you canít. Seriously, he's everything, mom. He's just really made us a family.
Viki: I'm so happy.
Kevin: Listen, I know this isn't a great time to bring this up, but grandpa made a visit to Todd today.
Viki: Well, I'm not surprised. I read that little piece about Buchanan Enterprises, and frankly, I'm not very comfortable with Toddís editorial judgment on it or some of the implications.
Kevin: Well, I'm pretty sure it was a dig at me, but I'm not taking the bait.
Viki: I'm going to call Todd. I'll talk to him.
Kevin: Well, he'll be ready for you with his answers and excuses. You know what? I really don't even care about the piece. There is nothing he can do to me or my family, though I'm sure he won't stop trying.
Asa: Oh, you did a fine job with that one, Kelly.
Kelly: Thank you, Asa.
Asa: I just wish he'd arrived before his daddy quit politics.
Kelly: I'd say he arrived right on time, exactly when he was supposed to. Besides, Kevin likes running Buchanan Enterprises.
Asa: Kevin never admitted how hurt he was when he had to resign as Lieutenant Governor, and now he's got the perfect family for politics. Only it's too late.
Natalie: Look, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry.
John: For what?
Natalie: For making you feel uncomfortable, for trying to push our relationship into something that it is not, and I know that you don't want that. But I guess I just thought that if I got involved with someone else that it -- maybe I wouldn't miss Cristian so much.
John: It never works that way, though. I did a lousy job, but that's what I was trying to tell you.
Natalie: Well, I kept making it hard.
John: I didn't want to hurt you.
Natalie: That's what makes you such a good friend, John.
John: Nah, it's just a little common decency, right?
Natalie: So can all this weirdness be gone? Are we really friends?
Margaret: I'm confused. You're going to name your source?
Todd: Yeah, it's going to come out. But let us speak of this no more. I want to talk about you.
Margaret: Yeah, but I'm safe, right?
Todd: Absolutely. I'd never let anything bad happen to you.
Margaret: My God, I was so scared.
Todd: Well, then, just relax. Enjoy that gimlet.
Mackenzie: Are you Detective Vega?
Harry: You can call me Harry.
Antonio: Ok, start talking, and this better be good, because the person you're talking about happens to be a very good friend of mine.
Harry: Well, should you maybe disqualify yourself?
Antonio: Just tell me what you know.
Harry: Well, it's like I told you on the phone. A few months ago, my boss sent me to bribe an Assistant District Attorney to make sure that a certain investigation at Buchanan Enterprises got dropped.
Antonio: And this A.D.A. was Nora Buchanan?
Harry: Yes. It was $50,000, and she took it.
Nora: Yeah, I just have a couple of more things to do here. Tell Matthew I'm on my way. Ok. Bye-bye.
Marcie: D.A. Colson was looking for you.
Daniel: Oh, hey, Nora. We need to talk.
Kelly: Hi. How's your mom?
Kevin: Having Jess around is doing wonders, although she'll never admit it.
Kelly: Well, she doesn't want everybody fussing.
Kevin: Is someone having a nap?
Kelly: Yes, Ace knocked out, thank God.
Kelly: Oh, we don't even want to wake up even though daddy's home.
Kevin: Oh, I can't wait to tell this kid how you came into the world. Do you know that you were born out in the country on a farm, huh? Your mother was very brave. She amazes me sometimes. She went into labor practically all on her own. Look at that, huh?
Kelly: Women have been doing it for centuries.
Kevin: Yeah, but they don't come up with a guy like this. It's just a miracle. How'd we do this, Kel, huh? How'd we make this?
Kelly: Well, I tell you what, he stays asleep for longer than half an hour, I'll remind you.
Kevin: Oh, yeah? I'm going to hold you to that. Oh, yeah, there we go.
Kelly: Hey, Kevin?
Kelly: Did you talk to Asa about regretting leaving politics?
Kevin: No, not lately I havenít.
Kelly: Do you miss it?
Kevin: All the problems I want to solve aren't going away anytime soon. I mean, you know, I'd like to do more than just write a check someday.
Kelly: Well, wait a few years and run again.
Kevin: I don't know.
Kelly: Politicians bounce back all the time.
Kevin: Yeah, well, actually, I think that you're the candidate in the family.
Kevin: Well, you've helped raise thousands for almost every charity in Pennsylvania. I mean, you got that battered women's shelter going in Houston. You're on the board of Llanview Hospital. I mean you've got a hell of a power base going there, honey.
Kelly: It's a shame all that power is going to go to waste, because I'm staying here with my son.
Kevin: Well, maybe down the line. I really think you'd be great. And now, thank God, we'd have a scandal-free campaign.
Antonio: Well, I've got everything I need. I'll be keeping in touch.
Harry: You act like you don't believe B.E. bribed Ms. Buchanan.
Antonio: I took down your information. I'll be calling you to bring you in for a formal statement.
Harry: Yeah, ok. Thanks.
Evangeline: Hey, Antonio. What's going on?
Antonio: Oh, hey, Evangeline. Nothing, nothing.
Evangeline: What's wrong?
Antonio: Actually, I can't really talk about it, but it was good seeing you.
Evangeline: Well, whatever it is, I hope it works out.
Antonio: Yeah, yeah, me, too.
Evangeline: Club soda with lime, please.
Harry: Ms. Williamson?
Harry: I'm involved in something pretty big, and I may need a lawyer. I want to put you on retainer. Will you help me?
John: I don't know. You know, you got a few things going for you.
Natalie: Hmm. Like what?
John: Well, you're the only person in Llanview that can beat me in pool.
Natalie: That's a good thing?
John: I like a challenge, so I guess I got no choice.
Natalie: So no permanent damage? Friends?
John: One condition.
Natalie: All right, name it.
John: Keep showing up with takeout.
Nora: You know what? I literally am running out of town right now, so this can wait.
Daniel: Hey -- look, no, it's about Lindsay Rappaport, what you said. You know, probably not a good idea to get involved with her.
Nora: Right, ok. Do remember, though, that I am the least objective person on this particular subject.
Daniel: Yeah, I know, but you really helped, though. You know, I was thinking we could, you know, talk more about it over a drink, maybe?
Nora: Sure, yeah. But you see, I'm -- I'm running out of town right now, and Bo and Matthew are waiting for me.
Daniel: Oh, oh, you and Bo? Say, I didn't know. I mean, it's --
Nora: No, Bo's getting his P.B.A. Award. This trip is for Matthew.
Daniel: All right, then. Well -- rain check?
Nora: Rain check, sure. That sounds great.
Nora: I have to go.
Daniel: Ok, go.
Daniel: Bye, and have fun.
Nora: See you. Bye.
Daniel: See you, ok.
Evangeline: Fine. I will take your retainer, Mr. Mackenzie.
Harry: You can call me Harry.
Evangeline: No, thanks. And let me give you a little warning. If an attorney suspects that her client is set to lie on the stand, that attorney is required to stop him. Are we clear?
Harry: Ms. Williamson, I really want you to believe me on this.
Evangeline: I don't have to believe you, Mr. Mackenzie. All I have to do is give you honest representation if you need it, which I will do.
Harry: Thank you, thank you so very much, and I'll call you soon.
Todd: Hey, Marg, when you return to Buchanan Enterprises, do me a favor. Just kind of sniff around a little bit for me. Find out who's extra nervous.
Margaret: What, because of the article?
Todd: You know, just find out who's happy, who's not so happy.
Margaret: I'll bet Kevin Buchanan isn't very happy.
Todd: I'll bet you're right. Especially if things are happening behind his back.
Margaret: You have really nice eyes.
Todd: I was going to say the same thing about you.
Todd: Oh. I have to get this.
Margaret: I have to go anyway.
Todd: I'm going to see you soon, yes?
Margaret: That's fine, yeah.
Todd: Hey, sis, how you feeling?
Viki: Well, actually, it's been a lovely day. That is, until I saw a certain piece in the business section.
Todd: Viki, I don't see how we can run that story without the B.E. angle.
Viki: Todd, the case had no merit. I mean it wasn't even current.
Todd: It wasn't that long ago. Plus, you don't want to make it look like you're protecting your family, do you?
Viki: Oh, Todd --
Todd: Yeah, Viki, that's my other line. I'm going to have to go. I'll call you later, ok?
Dorian: How many times do you have to be told to leave her alone?
Todd: I just want to find out about my daughter. How is Starr?
Blair: She's fine. I'll see you later.
Dorian: Yeah. Why can't you leave her alone?
Todd: Dorian, I want to know about my daughter. She's concerned, I'm concerned. All I care about is Starr.
Dorian: The only solution to Starrís problems is for you to stay out of her life. Oh, and the same goes for her mother.
Jessica: Mom? Mom, are you ok?
Viki: Yeah. Oh, honey, I'm just resting. You know, I'm doing what you all have been begging me to do.
Jessica: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm just not used to seeing you actually do it, though.
Viki: Listen, I don't really need quite as much supervision as you think.
Jessica: Oh, forget it. I'm not going anywhere, ok?
Jessica: So just rest a little more.
Viki: All right, would you please make sure to wake me in about 10 minutes?
Viki: Thank you.
Jessica: Hi. I thought we had a date later.
Antonio: Jamie couldn't wait.
Jessica: She couldn't, huh?
Jessica: Hi, baby girl.
Antonio: She's been miserable ever since you left. So have I.
Jessica: Well, have you given any more thought into moving in here with me?
Todd: Kelly, it's me. I need your help with Blair now.
Kelly: Ok, hang on just a second. It's some woman I met at a fundraiser. She has problems.
Kevin: Go, go talk to her.
Kelly: What? What do you want? Look, I cannot help you with Blair. If she doesn't love you, she doesn't love you. She barely likes me.
Todd: So you had a spat. You've had plenty of spats before.
Kelly: She slept with my husband.
Todd: All the more reason you should help me. You want her out of the picture, don't you?
Kelly: Look, you cannot just call here whenever you want. I have a child to raise.
Todd: Yeah, I know. It's a cute kid. Be a real shame if Kevin ever found out.
Kelly: If Kevin finds out, it's going to be a real problem for you, isn't it?
Todd: Yeah. You know, Kevinís kind of like a stomach virus. It's painful for a while, and then the body just kills it off.
Kelly: Is that a threat?
Todd: Take it however you want. I'm asking you to meet with me so we can talk about Blair. Don't turn me down.
Kelly: Ok, fine.
Marcie: Did you run out on your patients, doctor?
Michael: No. I got someone to cover my shifts.
Michael: You didn't make any other plans, did you?
Marcie: So what are we going to do?
Michael: Well, when you think of your top five most romantic nights --
Michael: I want this to be it.
Marcie: Oh, really? Better than Valentineís Day?
Michael: Much better.
Marcie: Hmm, well. Come on, let's get going. I want to get ready.
Woman: I'm looking for detective John McBain. Have you seen him?
Officer: He's around here someplace. I'll see if I can find him.
Natalie: So -- you want to shoot some pool sometime, come on by.
John: Oh, I think I definitely need to practice a little first.
Natalie: So this was -- this was good.
John: Yeah. Glad you came by. But next time lunch is on me.
John: So it's --
Woman: Thank God. Can we talk somewhere?
John: Yeah, in here.
Natalie: See you -- see you later.
John: I'll see you later.
John: Kathryn, what are you doing here?
Kathryn: I didn't know where else to turn. You're the only one I can trust.
John: What's going on?
Kathryn: Someone's out to kill me.
Stay tuned for scenes from the next "One Life To Live."
On the next "One Life To Live" --
Marcie: I didn't think I could ever be this happy again. People like me; we don't usually get second chances.
Natalie: I've already seen her. It's police business.
Roxy: Then what's she doing with an overnight bag over her shoulder?
John: Who are you looking for?
Kathryn: You know a guy named Paul Cramer?
