Marcie: Mrs. McBain, you're sure you're going to be all right?

Eve: Fine.

Michael: My God, mom, you could've drowned. I want you checked out head to toe.

Shannon: Aunt Eve knows how to make a splash when she comes to town.

Eve: Ha, ha, ha. I'm fine.

Michael: No, you know, you really should've stayed the night in the hospital.

Eve: Honey, they checked me out.

Marcie: Yeah, Michael, you're going to be right down the hallway from her. She'll be fine.

Roxy: Oh, man, this music box killer -- what a psycho with a capital S. Hey, I was just reading about you. You know, you don't exactly fit the profile. You know, no offense or nothing like that.

Eve: None taken. Have we met?

Roxy: Oh -- oh -- I'm Roxy from Foxy Roxyís Hair Haven across the street.

Eve: Hi.

Roxy: You know, I could give you a dynamite bleach job.

Michael: Roxy, this is my mom.

Roxy: Oh, hey, Johnnyís mother, too. You know, I've been trying to make this hookup between Johnny and my kid Natty.

Eve: I thought Natalie was -- Natalieís mother was Viki Buchanan.

Roxy: Well, I am, too. You got a couple of hours, because it's a long, long story. See, I just thought they'd make a cute couple, but too much luggage, I guess.

Shannon: Baggage.

Roxy: Huh?

Shannon: It's too much baggage.

Roxy: What's too much baggage?

Shannon: Are you for real?

Roxy: You think I look this good because I'm getting Botox injections? Anyway, I don't think there's any woman that's safe at all, so I'm just really glad that he's out of commission. You know, I hope that Johnny throws the big, fat book at him.

Eve: Me, too.

John: Come on, Haver. You know you did it. We know you did it. I mean, it's -- it's over. You might want to talk to us now because it might get a little quiet on death row later.

Bo: Hasn't said a word.

Daniel: Hasn't even asked for his lawyer yet.

Bo: Nothing.

Daniel: So what do you think this silent routine's going to get you?

Rae: He's just trying to figure out his next move. Stephen, I know what it is.

Nora: Next thing you're going to tell me is you're Stephen Haverís attorney.

Evangeline: Funny, he hasn't called.

Nora: Yeah, he hasn't called you or anyone else, for that matter.

Evangeline: Well, my plate is pretty full right now.

Nora: Oh.

Evangeline: Plus, I have Toddís new trial to prepare for.

Nora: And it's not going to be a slam dunk. You're not going to get a juror this time that has a hearing aid problem.

Evangeline: Well, actually, I was excited about bringing up Blairís medical condition.

Nora: "Excited"?

Evangeline: Ah, here comes the Judge.

Nora: Here comes the Judge.

Evangeline: Here comes the judge.

Nora: Hello, Judge Lowell. Thank you so much for meeting us.

Judge Lowell: I'm on my way to court, ladies, so let's keep this meeting brief.

Nora: Absolutely. Ok, I just wanted to know -- have you set a new trial date for Todd Manningís retrial?

Judge Lowell: No. Actually, I'm ordering that he be released from Statesville Prison effective immediately.

Viki: Well, thank heavens Jessica and Natalie are both all right and now Stephen Haver is off the streets.

Todd: Behind bars like the rest of us psychopaths.

Viki: Oh, Todd, don't be so grandiose. You're hardly in the same category as Stephen Haver.

Todd: Ask Blair.

Viki: You know, I'm becoming more and more convinced that, because of her condition, she really was not thinking clearly when she accused you of rape.

Todd: Yeah, we've been over that. We've beat it to death. Why are you really here?

Viki: You might be getting out of here soon. And when you do, I want you to stay away from Kevin.

Blair: Coming!

[Kevin whistles]

Blair: Hey.

Kevin: Hey.

Blair: Hey. I was going to call you. Going to call you. I have been going through so much.

Kevin: Yeah?

Blair: Yes. Gone through all these magazines over here. I mean do you still like the idea of "craze"? I mean --

Kevin: I love it. Are you kidding me?

Blair: I like it, too.

Kevin: Good to see you back in action again.

Blair: This is so great.

Kevin: Yeah, I brought these for you, too.

Blair: Oh, perfect, perfect, perfect.

Kevin: Listen, have you heard from Kelly today?

Blair: No. No, I havenít.

Kevin: That's weird, man.

Blair: Why?

Kevin: Apparently, she went to Texas. And I called everyone we know there. No one's seen her.

Blair: Texas?

Kevin: That's what Paul said.

Blair: Well, maybe Paul has his information wrong, you know?

Kevin: He sounded pretty sure, you know? I just can't believe she wouldn't call me and tell me that she was going.

Blair: Well --

Kevin: I don't know what to think at this point. It's weird.

Kevin: Hey.

Kelly: Is that our son?

Kevin: Yeah. There you go.

Kelly: He's beautiful.

Kevin: This baby is exactly what we need, Kelly. Now I can love you. Just you. Only you.

Paul: Kelly? Kelly? How you doing?

Kelly: Why did this have to happen? Why did I have to lose my baby? Was it too much to ask that I have a child and my husband?

Paul: Maybe you still can someday.

Kelly: Not if Kevin finds out about this. That's why he can't ever know. He can't ever know what happened.

Paul: Kelly, this isn't exactly something that you can keep secret. I mean, call me crazy, but people are going to know when you don't have a baby.

Kelly: I know. I know that.

Paul: You're going to have to tell Kevin sooner or later.

Kelly: The longer I wait; the longer I still have him.

Paul: You are not going to lose him because you lost the baby.

Kelly: You don't know. He changed when I got pregnant. He was suddenly so nice and caring. It was like we were starting over.

Paul: If he finds out that you're lying to him --

Kelly: That's why he can't find out.

Paul: Oh, come on, Kelly. You got to start making some more sense here. I mean, how are you going to keep this from him?

Kelly: I don't know. I'll think of something.

Paul: Look, maybe you just need some more rest.

Kelly: Yeah, yeah, to figure this out.

Paul: Just stop, all right? I mean, Kevin loves you, Kelly. It wasnít just about the baby.

Kelly: He slept with my cousin.

Paul: Oh, that was before you two started working things out!

Kelly: If he finds out about this -- if he finds out that there's not a child, he will go back to Blair. He will leave me, and I can't handle that. I can't lose him, too.

Paul: But there isn't a baby.

Kelly: There could be.

Blair: You know, I bet you Kelly just wants some time by herself.

Kevin: Well, I just hope it's not what I think it is.

Blair: Now, what do you think it is?

Kevin: Well, remember when I told you about that affair she had in Houston?

Blair: Yeah?

Kevin: I just hope she didn't go see the son of a bitch, that's all.

Blair: Oh, come -- you can't believe that.

Kevin: What do you mean?

Blair: She loves you, Kevin. She loves only you. You know she's pregnant. Women do crazy things when they're pregnant. And she has been under a lot of stress lately.

Kevin: You're probably right. I just -- I just wish she would take the calls, you know, pick up her messages. What?

Blair: You're worried about her. It's obvious that you love her and you care about her.

Kevin: Well, she is my wife.

Blair: And she is a very lucky woman to have someone who loves her and cares about her like you do.

Kevin: Well, she deserves it, just like you do.

Blair: As long as it's not Todd.

Kevin: Yeah.

Blair: But I do think that he finally heard me after I just had it out with him.

Kevin: Wait a minute. You went and saw him?

Blair: Yes, I did. I had to tell him. I had to tell him everything that he did to me and the kids was wrong.

Kevin: Well, I wish you wouldn't have done that.

Blair: Well, you know what, Kevin? I'm really glad that I did.

Kevin: Well, what did he say?

Blair: That it's not over, that this is just the beginning.

Todd: The kids look bigger already. Thanks for bringing that.

Viki: You're welcome. I know that you miss them.

Todd: If Blair has her way, I'll never see them again.

Viki: Todd, you're ignoring my last remark. I really want you to stay away from Kevin.

Todd: Viki, what do you think I'm going to do to him? Buy back "The Sun"? He sold it to you, and you merged it with "The Banner"?

Viki: Come on, "The Sun" has been hemorrhaging money for years, and 80% of your employees --

Todd: Yeah, yeah, yeah --

Viki: Had their jobs saved by that move.

Todd: And Kevin walks away with the pot of gold.

Viki: And you made a ton of money from it. Why do you blame Kevin for everything?

Todd: No. I'm the one blamed for everything. Vickers was just here warning me to stay away from Blair. Blair warns me to stay away from my own children. You're warning me to stay away from Kevin. Is there anyone in Llanview that I can go near?

Viki: Well, I'm one of the very few people in town who will have anything at all to do with you. Now, whose fault do you think that is, hmm?

Todd: Thank you, Viki. I can always count on you to cheer me up.

Viki: Yeah, you can always count on me, and you know that, don't you? Now I want to know that I can count on you.

Todd: I didn't know it was conditional.

Viki: It's not. I love you as I love my children -- unconditionally, ok? And I don't want anything -- anything to happen to any one of you, especially my son Kevin.

Todd: Bad things happen. That's life.

Viki: There are some things that you cannot control. This is not one of them, ok? Todd, if you care at all about me, you will stay out of Kevinís life. Do you understand that?

Todd: If he'll stay out of mine.

Judge Lowell: You are more than welcome to file new rape charges against Mr. Manning, but given the new evidence that Ms. Williamson has, it's going to be a tough case to prove.

Nora: Not impossible.

Judge Lowell: Well, that is up to your office to decide. But for now, as soon as the paperwork goes through, Mr. Manning is free to go.

Evangeline: Thank you so much, Judge.

Judge Lowell: Yes, well, I am off to court. Good night, ladies.

Nora: Yes, good night.

Evangeline: Good night. You know, I think I will go and tell my client the latest. Excuse me.

Nora: Evangeline, wait a minute. I have a proposition for you about Todd.

Man: This is such a creep-out. Professor Haverís the music box killer?

Woman: Haver was my favorite teacher. How sick is that?

Riley: Jen, are you ok?

Jen: It's just really hard to believe. Dr. Haver tried to kill me.

Riley: And Flash, and he almost did kill her.

Jen: I hope they put him away for good.

Riley: Well, my dad will do better than that. After he's done with him, he'll be on death row.

Jen: Everyone's really freaked out, including me.

Marcie: Shannon, come on. We got to get back to the student union. President Davidsonís giving that speech about Dr. Haver.

Shannon: I'd hate to miss that. Let's see -- go and listen to a speech by the president of L.U. or go home and clean my toilet.

Michael: Shannon, will you stop?

Shannon: I'm just joking.

Eve and Michael: Yeah, well, donít.

Eve: Shannon, you are a student at L.U. Now. You should go.

Michael: Yeah, yeah, you know what? I'll give you guys a ride.

Marcie: No. No. Stay here with your mom.

Eve: I don't need any babysitting.

Michael: Well, I do need someone to buy me lunch.

Eve: I have to pay for the abuse?

Michael: Sorry.

Marcie: I'll see you later, ok?

Michael: Ok.

Shannon: I haven't got all day. Come on.

Michael: Just give her a chance, ok?

Marcie: I am trying. And so is she.

Michael: Thank you.

Marcie: I'll see you later.

Eve: Bye.

Marcie: Hey, River.

River: Hey, Marcie. How you doing?

Marcie: Come on, I haven't got all day. Stop flirting.

[Phone rings]

Roxy: Angel Square Hotel. What can I do you for? No, we don't rent by the hour. No, it's not a no-tell motel, ok? Jeez.

River: How you doing?

Roxy: Hey. Who's minding the shop?

River: Janelle's got it covered.

Roxy: Oh, yeah, cover up the spit from that screaming brat of hers.

River: Yeah, that baby's taking a nap, so --

Roxy: What are you doing here?

River: I just figured I'd take a chill. Is that all right? You don't want me to sic the unions on you.

Roxy: What union?

River: I don't know. I'll think of one. You mind if I just sit down for a little while?

Roxy: Knock yourself out, Elton.

Michael: So you already have a room.

[River plays piano]

Michael: Why don't you just stay for the night?

Eve: Michael, we've already talked about me moving here to Llanview.

Michael: Yes, we have, and you said that you'd get back to me. So?

Rae: How does it feel, Stephen, to be on the other side, to feel trapped and scared like all your victims? But it won't work. You're not catatonic. No one's ever going to buy that. Isn't that right, gentlemen?

John: That what you're trying to do, Haver? Make us believe you're too nuts to stand trial?

Bo: D.A. Colson, can you make the charges stick?

Daniel: A piece of cake. His best bet's a guilty plea. Could keep him off of death row.

John: Nah. I say he's toast either way.

Stephen: Mommy, I'd like to see my lawyer now.

Evangeline: Are you sure about this?

Nora: I don't have any options.

Daniel: Haver's asking for his lawyer. Somebody get him over here now, please.

Nora: He's going to confess?

Daniel: Well, if he's smart. I'd like to stick with the death penalty, but I'll take what I can get.

Nora: Well, gee, I hate to burst your bubble, but I need to talk to you about something.

Daniel: Ok, what's up?

Nora: I made an offer to Evangeline.

Daniel: For what?

Nora: You're really not going to like this, but, you know, I was thinking that we should really cut Todd Manning a deal. It would save us time, money, and not to mention face.

Daniel: So you're talking about letting him walk?

Nora: No, not exactly. I just need the word from you.

Daniel: No way in hell.

Marcie: Hey, did you hear, you guys --

Jen: About Dr. Haver? Who hasn't?

Riley: Everybody's blown away.

Marcie: Yeah. Did President Davidson say anything yet?

Riley: She's just getting here now.

Shannon: Oh, somebody wake me up when this is over, ok?

Marcie: Do you have an off switch?

Viki: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you all for coming today. I know that all of you are upset and concerned about Professor Haverís arrest, and certainly you have every right to be, ok? That's why I'm trying to talk to as many of you as possible around campus. I want you to know that the university will shortly be issuing a formal statement. In the meantime, the counseling office is open 24 hours a day for anyone who feels that he or she might need it, and I am here now to answer any questions you might have.

Shannon: I have one.

Viki: Yes.

Shannon: Will you be hiring any more serial killers on your faculty?

Viki: What is your name, young lady?

Shannon: Shannon McBain.

Viki: McBain? Really? Ms. McBain, I would like you to make an appointment to come and see me in my office, and then we'll have a little chat about your question, ok?

Evangeline: I have excellent news for you again.

Todd: Well, let me guess. I'm getting out till the new trial.

Evangeline: There's not going to be a new trial.

Todd: Is Blair dropping the charges?

Evangeline: No, but the prosecution has made you an offer. Did you hear me?

Todd: Yeah. What is it?

Evangeline: You plead no contest to new charges of rape.

Todd: But --

Evangeline: It's not an admission of guilt. It just means that you're not going to fight it.

Todd: That's the same thing.

Evangeline: No, not at all. You're just saying that you'll accept punishment, which in this case is time already served. Do you hear what I'm saying to you? All you have to do is give me the word and you are a free man, Todd.

Paul: Kelly, what'd you mean before -- there could be a baby?

Kelly: Adoption. I could adopt one.

Paul: What, and pass it off as yours and Kevinís?

Kelly: It could work.

Paul: How? I mean it takes months, sometimes years to adopt. Look at the trouble you had before.

Kelly: There are all kinds of ways to adopt a child, Paul.

Paul: What, you're talking about the black market?

Kelly: David tried to get me one in Mexico.

Paul: No. No, no, no, no, don't you even think about bringing David into this.

Kelly: It almost worked.

Paul: Yeah, but did it? Huh? You can't trust that guy.

Kelly: I can trust you. You're my brother. I can trust you. You'll help me.

Paul: Kelly, I -- I don't know how.

Kelly: You work at a hospital. You're around babies all the time.

Paul: Yeah, but what do you want me to do, just take one?

Kelly: No, no, course not. I don't -- of course I would never ask you to do that.

Paul: Then what are we talking about here?

Kelly: I don't know. All I know is you have to help me, Paul. You're the only one I can count on now. You have to help me get a child. Please.

Evangeline: So all you have to do is sign those papers and you are out of here. It's not going to get any better than this, you know. Daniel Colson didn't even want to do this, but Nora talked him into it because I think, deep down, she knew she couldn't win the second trial. So what's the problem? What's it going to be? Are you going to take the offer or not?

Todd: There. You happy?

Evangeline: I thought you would be happy.

Todd: Yeah, I'm happy. Why wouldn't I be happy?

Blair: Well, thank you for calling, Nora.

Kevin: What's going on?

Blair: They let Todd out.

Kevin: They granted him bail.

Blair: They didn't have to.

Kevin: Why?

Blair: We're not even going to have a second trial because the D.A. offered him a deal and Todd took it.

Kevin: This is unbelievable. I'm going to make some calls.

Blair: No, no. No, you're --

Kevin: Yes.

Blair: No.

Kevin: Look; you do not want him to get away with what he did to you.

Blair: I don't want to have another trial, either, Kevin! I can't deal with that!

Kevin: I understand that, but there's got to be another way. This way, it's like it never happened. It's like he never raped you. We both know he did.

Blair: Stop, stop! Stop it. I don't want to talk about Todd. I don't even want to think about him. I just want to forget about him, all right?

Kevin: I am so angry. Todd gets away with everything! We cannot --

Blair: Please.

Kevin: Look, is -- is there anything that I can do to help?

Blair: No, you've done everything that you can, and I really do appreciate it, Kevin. But you have a wife, and she's pregnant, and you need to worry about her.

Paul: Kelly, you're my sister. I love you and I'd do anything for you, but I --

Kelly: But not this?

Paul: No, I'm not -- I'm not saying I won't help you get a baby, all right, just -- just some legitimate way --

Kelly: Can you think of a legitimate way?

Paul: No, no, all right? Not off the top of my head.

Kelly: We have to do something.

Paul: I still think you should tell Kevin, all right? He would understand.

Kelly: No. No, he wonít. You don't understand. He was going to divorce me until he found out that I was pregnant. And then -- and then this miracle happened, this miracle that was going to save our marriage.

Paul: Kelly --

Kelly: No, Paul, listen to me. We're going to lose that.

Paul: You don't know that, Kelly.

Kelly: I do. I know it, and so do you.

Paul: Where would we even find a baby?

Kelly: I don't know. You -- you see babies born all the time to people who -- who don't want them, who -- who can't care for them.

Paul: Yeah, but, you know, you just can't -- you can't make that --

Kelly: Hey -- I would be a good mother. I would. I'm alone here, Paul. I'm alone. You have to help me. You have to promise to help me.

Paul: All right. I will, I promise.

Kelly: All right.

Daniel: I still don't like it.

Nora: Me, either, but what choices do we have? Send Todd back to trial and then we lose?

Daniel: I just hope we're not making a big mistake.

Nora: Well, yeah. Me, too.

Daniel: You know, politically, I'm going to look like an idiot. It's nice to have good company.

Man: All communication with my client is to go through me from now on.

Bo: Your client's on his way to county lockup.

John: You know, I am going to be there to watch you fry.

Man: My client is not going to spend one minute in prison. I plan to enter an insanity plea.

Asa: What the hell's he talking about, Bo? Haver killed all those women! And I just got off the phone with Sarahís doctors, Haver. That poor thing will never sing again all because of that piece of slime! Let's string him up!

Bo: Pa, we'll take care of this.

Asa: Are you going to kill him? If you don't, I will. You hear that, Haver?

Bo: Leave it alone.

Nora: We've got a great case that we've built against him.

Asa: All right, you tell me -- can he be put in a mental institution? Yes or no?

Bo: Nobody wants to see Haver walk.

Asa: Well, he'd better not even try because I swear I will kill him.

[River plays piano]

Roxy: It's my dream. You really met Elvis.

Eve: I ran into him -- with my car.

Roxy: No way. What happened?

Eve: Well, I was playing a club on the boardwalk. It was late, and I was not looking where I was going, and my gremlin backed into his limo.

Roxy: You dented the King's limo?

Eve: He was a perfect gentleman.

Roxy: I hope you still got that gremlin.

Eve: Oh, my goodness. I think it was barely running just then.

Roxy: You should've kept it, put it outside your house, use it as a planter.

[Roxy and Eve laugh]

Michael: Roxy, do you have some paperwork for my mother to fill out?

Roxy: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, but I was thinking, you know, maybe you should think a little bit more about this. I mean, you know, Nigel runs a real swell place, but it's got this heavy guy thing going on here.

Eve: I do seem to be the only woman here.

Roxy: Yeah, maybe you need a more hormone-friendly place, like -- you know, Natty and I are looking for somebody. Could be three wild chicks from Atlantic City. Teach these squares here how to live it up.

Eve: All right. Where do you live?

Roxy: I live in this big cottage on Harrison Street. It's real big, and, you know, we have an empty floor. You know, you could live there for practically nothing.

Eve: Well --

Roxy: And give Johnny, you know, more excuses to come over and see Natty.

Eve: I just -- I haven't decided whether or not I'm moving to Llanview.

Michael: What do you mean, you haven't decided? Somebody just offered you a place. R.J. Gannon has offered you a steady gig.

Eve: Michael, it isn't that easy. I mean, even if I accept Mr. Gannon's offer, I still need an accompanist. And then Charlie owns a piece of the Jupiter Club. He's not going anywhere.

Roxy: Hey, River, you know any retro stuff?

River: Retro like Beatles stuff?

Roxy: Oh, these kids today. Anything before Madonna is like ancient history.

River: I know Madonna. It's the old lady that kissed Britney. Everybody knows that.

Roxy: Ouch.

[Michael chuckles]

River: What?

Michael: Mom, you'll find somebody. You know that you will.

Eve: Michael, it isn't that easy.

Michael: I know. I know. I know it's not easy, but listen, with everything that's gone on -- I mean, you did almost drown.

Eve: If Bo Buchanan hadn't come along when he did --

Roxy: Hey, my Natty almost died yesterday, too, you know?

Michael: You see, Mom, the thing is --

Eve: Life is short.

Michael: Yeah. And I've spent way too much time away from you. You know, I'd like to make up for that. I'm not necessarily comfortable with you living 30 minutes away while John and I are living here. So move here. Do it for me, for John.

Eve: You know, never could say no to any one of my boys.

Roxy: Welcome to Llanview, wild chick.

Eve: Right on, sister sledge.

Viki: Well, as I understand it, Professor Haver was very, very well-liked around here. He seems to have been a favorite professor for many of you. It is extremely unfortunate that no one saw through him, not even the police, especially after he victimized people that we care very much about.

Man: President Davidson?

Viki: Yeah?

Man: What are you doing to make sure that this doesn't happen again?

Viki: Well, obviously, we're going to implement much, much stricter background checks for the faculty, staff, and the students.

Shannon: Duh.

Jen: Shh.

Woman: President Davidson?

Viki: Yes?

Woman: I don't know. I mean, like how are we supposed to feel safe on campus again?

Viki: Ok, look, Professor Haverís been arrested. He's in police custody. He's not getting out, so this threat from him is over. It's finished. It's done, ok? For the future, I'm going to increase campus security, and that will remain no matter what. As for guaranteeing somebody's safety, I'm afraid I can't do that. No one can. Unfortunately, in this day and age, there are no guarantees.

Blair: Ah, finally! I'm telling you, it's impossible to get that little boy of mine to sleep. Finally, he took his nap.

Kevin: I'm going to be going through the same thing pretty soon, I tell you that.

Blair: You know what? I bet you Kelly; she'd call you if something were really wrong with the baby.

Kevin: Yeah, well --

Blair: Don't you think?

Kevin: I can't help worrying, you know? Poor kid. I'm going to be so overprotective.

Blair: So you looking forward to being a dad again?

Kevin: I am. I really am, you know? I mean, when Kelly first told me that she was pregnant, I didn't believe her, and you know how terrible I felt about that. I don't know why I would ever think that she would lie to me about something so important, you know?

Blair: Well, you two were going through a rough stretch.

Kevin: Yeah.

Blair: Yeah.

Kevin: Well, the baby changed that.

Blair: Kids will -- will definitely do that.

Kevin: Oh, come on, you're not thinking about Todd, are you?

Blair: No, I'm not -- I was thinking about what he's going to do when he comes -- you know, when he gets out.

Kevin: Well, maybe he'll crawl under a rock and stay there.

Blair: Oh, yeah, you think? Don't think so.

Kevin: Well, one can only hope.

Blair: I hope. Every time I hope, I get disappointed.

Kevin: Well, keep trying. Maybe next time you won't be.

Kelly: Do you want any of this?

Paul: No, you need to eat, Kelly.

Kelly: I'm not hungry. Come here. Let's talk. You promised me that you would help me. You would help me find a child.

Paul: Yes, I promised I would help you. I will. Kelly, I have no idea how to get you a baby, all right, so you need to calm down and think this through.

Kelly: There's nothing to think about.

Paul: No, yes, there is. Now you listen to me. No, look at me! Look at me, Kelly! You've got to tell Kevin you lost that baby!

Kelly: No, no, I won't risk that. Uh-uh.

Paul: What, is that the only reason why you had this baby, so you could hang on to Kevin?

Kelly: No. Maybe at first. But then I felt him growing inside of me and I felt his -- his little kicks, and he was my baby. He was my child. He was my son. And I had so many hopes and dreams for him, and now he's gone. And I feel like I am so alone. I am so alone. I --

Paul: No, no, no, Kelly, Kelly, you're not -- you're not alone. You're not alone. I'm here.

Kelly: Then you have to help me.

Paul: Kelly --

Kelly: I can get you money. I can get you lots of money.

Paul: No amount of money is going to make --

Kelly: $30 million. I can get you $30 million. You think that Aunt Dorian and David conned Aunt Betsy out of her money, right?

Paul: Yes, I do.

Kelly: You think that they might have murdered her to get her inheritance, right?

Paul: It's possible.

Kelly: What if I can get you proof?

Paul: You know what you're saying here, Kelly? Huh? That you will get me proof that Dorian's guilty of murder? So what are you saying, hmm? That you will get me proof that Dorian killed Aunt Betsy? You're willing to do that?

Kelly: If she did it. I don't think she did.

Paul: Yeah, but if she did, you'll stand up and say so?

Kelly: If she did, then you deserve to have that money just like I deserve to have my husband and a child. What? What, you don't want the money all of a sudden?

Paul: No, no, it's not that --

Kelly: Well, then, what's the problem?

Paul: You got to ask? Huh? You want me to steal a baby so you can pass it off as your own? You don't see a problem with that, Kelly?

Kelly: Yes, yes, I have a problem with all of this. I didn't want any of this to happen. All I wanted was my husband and a child and to be happy. I would be a good mother. You know I would. No mother would love a child more. No mother would care for a child more. That child will want for nothing. You and I could both have what we want. You just have to help me out. What do you say?

Kevin: Well, listen, just let me know if you see or hear from Kelly, ok? Thank you. All right, bye.

[Doorbell rings]

Kevin: Hey.

Evangeline: Kevin.

Kevin: Come in. Blair is upstairs with Jack. I don't know where everybody else is.

Blair: What are you doing here?

Evangeline: I came to tell you that Todd is being released from Statesville.

Blair: I know. Nora called already.

Evangeline: Yeah, I figured as much, but I need to talk to you about something else.

Kevin: Well, couldn't you have called?

Evangeline: Not about this.

Blair: All right, Evangeline, if you're here to let me give you a statement that Todd didn't rape me --

Evangeline: No.

Blair: That is not going to happen.

Evangeline: It's not about that, Blair.

Kevin: Well, then what?

Blair: What?

Evangeline: Look, Kevin, you might as well be here, too, because, you know, this quite frankly might as well involve you. I don't know. When I told Todd that he was being released from Statesville, he had a very strange reaction.

Blair: What did he say? What'd he do?

Evangeline: He didn't say anything. That's it. It -- he was eerily quiet, and I thought that you should know.

Kevin: Why? You were the one that fought so hard to get him out.

Evangeline: Because I believed that he was innocent, and I still do. But there's something about the way that he took the news. It just -- it just didn't seem right.

Kevin: What? You think he's up to something?

Evangeline: I don't know. Do you?

Blair: That's Todd. That's what he does when he's about to strike.

Guard: Here's the stuff you came in with. It's all there. You're free to go. What are you waiting for?

Todd: All right, Kevin. Game's on.

Bo: We've got a nice, comfy cell for him at county.

Man: Not until he's had psychiatric evaluation.

Bo: Dr. Cummings here set up some sessions for him there.

Man: Her choice of a psychiatrist will hardly be unbiased.

Rae: Ooh.

Man: You know I'm right, Counselor. So unless your office wants to face prosecutorial misconduct charges --

Nora: Ok. Ok, we don't have to take Dr. Cummings' references. There are plenty of psychiatrists at the Statesville Prison.

Asa: Close the door, John.

John: What's up?

Asa: This.

John: How the hell did you get that past the metal detectors?

Asa: I'm Asa Buchanan. I don't stand in line.

John: Oh, Asa, what the hell are you doing bringing something like that in here? What are you thinking about?

Asa: What the hell do you think I'm thinking, huh? I want justice done for everything Haverís done. And the only way to do it -- kill the son of a bitch.

Stay tuned for scenes from the next "One Life To Live."

On the next "One Life To Live" --

Bo: What's going on?

John: Why don't you tell him?

Adriana: The wedding's supposed to start soon. I bet Davidís already at the church.

Blair: Save yourself, David. Cancel the wedding.

Lindsay: You could have any woman you want.

Rex: I want you.
