Marcie: This thing is useless!

Man: Marcie --

Marcie: What?

Man: Hurry up. You're on in 15.

Marcie: Minutes?

Man: Seconds.

Marcie: Seconds? Oh, no. All right.

Man: Here.

Marcie: I'm wet. Oh, no, live?

Man: We're live in five, four, three, two --

Marcie: This is Marcie Walsh. If you could just bear with me for a few seconds, I have a great -- a great broadcast planned for you today. I'm going to read love songs -- play love songs and read love poetry for you. And, you know, I was on my way here. I was waiting for the bus. Well, the bus never showed up, so I decided to walk. And then of course, when I was walking, my umbrella turned inside out.

[Marcie chuckles]

Marcie: Oh, don't you love that when that happens -- and on Valentine’s Day. Well, tonight's show is dedicated to the voice of the night, Al Holden. He was -- he was the love of my life. And well, I don't know exactly what is on this tape, but if he were here tonight, these are the songs that he would have played for us to help us get through the night.

[Music plays]

Al: Since when does she go on till 11:30? She's never going to make it here on time.

Luna: Would you just breathe, honey? Don't panic. Just breathe, ok?

Al: She's dedicating this show to Al. She says that he's the love of her life. She's never going to realize that I am Al inside of this stupid body.

Luna: Have a little bit of faith, would you? Come on! You've made it this far.

Al: If it doesn't happen by midnight, Al is gone.

Luna: I should never have let Marcie see Al this one last time!  Uh. And that voice of the night broadcast -- bad, bad, bad! By the time it is all done, she's going to be more in love with Al than she ever was before. Oh, god, please he m me.

Megan: I'm not God, but she and I are pretty close.

Luna: Megan, are you going to fire me?

Megan: Why would I fire you?

Luna: I think I blew it.

Megan: Have faith, Luna. You know, there are times when love is stronger than death.

Jessica: Mom?

Viki: Mm-hmm?

Jessica: You look amazing. Wow. Do you have a date or something?

Viki: Yes, I do. I'm spending Valentine’s Day with the man that I love -- Ben.

Blair: It's pouring out there, Starr. Get in here. I want you to go upstairs and dry off, will you, sweetie?

David: Blair, darling, what happened? I thought you were going over to Addie's to have a nice visit.

Blair: Well, we were, but the bridge is out on the way to St. Ann's because of the storm.

Starr: And mom had another one of her headaches, probably because it's Valentine’s Day and she misses dad.

Singer: In this life of living, yeah just all I ever wanted was you yeah, you all I ever wanted all I ever needed all I ever wanted was you

Marcie: Last year, on valentine's day, I had no idea who the voice of the night was, much less that we were going to meet and fall in love. And even though Al -- he's not with us anymore -- well, I'm never going to forget the love and the magic that he showed me how to see. So, Al, if you're listening, Happy Valentine’s Day. Who knows what this year's going to bring, right?

R.J.: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Capricorn. Simply Red will take the stage in a little while. But in the meantime, I need you to eat, drink, enjoy yourselves, because tonight is going to be a very special night.

[Cheers and applause]

Jessica: I miss him, too.

Al: Hey. Natalie.

Natalie: Michael, hey. We came.

Al: Yeah. Listen, I hope I wasn't being insensitive by asking you to come here.

Natalie: No, no. I mean, it beats staying home alone, I think.

Al: Aren't you supposed to be in Chicago visiting Antonio?

Jessica: Yeah. The storm was too bad, so I couldn't go.

Al: Well, that sucks.

Jessica: Yeah, it does. Well, where's Marcie? Isn't she supposed to be here?

Marcie: Al was -- he was the love of my life. He was my first love, and -- well, I hate to admit this, but before I met him, I pictured romance and love as swooning and kissing, you know, hearts and flowers, but -- well, that's not what real love is. It's -- it's sharing a secret. It's looking across the room at your guy and knowing exactly what's going on in his mind. It's storing up stories all day long and not being able to wait to get home to tell him. And on good days I still laugh and I still smile because -- well, I know that Al is always going to be with me, forever.

Nurse: Hey, Mrs. D.

Viki: Hello, Rusty.

Rusty: How is he today? Handsome as ever?

Viki: Handsome as ever.

Rusty: Well, it looks like he could use some sun.

[Viki laughs]

Viki: Oh, couldn't we all, huh?

Rusty: Yeah. Well, my shift's over and I got to go.

Viki: Ok.

Rusty: Good to see you.

Viki: Good night, Rusty. Happy valentine's day, darling. I brought you some flowers, sweetheart. They're red tulips. And actually, they're exactly like the ones that we have in that part of the garden that you like so much, you know, the part that I planted for Megan? I wish that you and Megan had known each other. You would have loved each other. You know, she died on Valentine’s Day here in this hospital. But she always loved red, so I planted a red garden for her. And I put it right outside the kitchen window where I could see it. I used to watch you out there, sweetheart. You'd stand out there, watching the sunset. And I didn't even need to see it to see how beautiful it was, because it was all over your face. And then you'd come back inside to me.

Ben: Ooh, that tastes good.

[Viki laughs]

Ben: And now the table is set.

Viki: It's so pretty!

Ben: Oh, yeah.

Viki: All right. You know what? These are my absolute favorite evenings -- no plans, no company, no nothing.

Ben: No garlic, not tonight.

Viki: Oh, I guess you think you're going to get lucky.

Ben: Crossed my mind. Ben's red sauce not from a jar.

Viki: It needs garlic.

Ben: You're right. Don't get any better than this.

Viki: No. It doesn't get any better than this. Oh. You know what?

Ben: What?

Viki: I'm going to remember all of this. I'm going to remember this meal, this kitchen, the flowers, and the garlic forever. Forever.

Ben: So will I. Especially the garlic.

Viki: You remember that, don't you?

Luna: I don't know whose bright idea this was!

Megan: Luna --

Luna: All right, it was mine. It was mine, ok? But you're the one that gave me the old -- to tell me it was ok. So what do I do now, boss?

Megan: Well, if I were you, I would do nothing. How's that? Doing nothing -- can you do that? It's not midnight yet.

Luna: Wait a second. Are you telling me, without telling me, that -- that it can all work out and that Marcie could see Al inside of Michael after all?

Megan: Well, that's up to Marcie and Al. All we can do is open the door. It's up to them to walk through it.

Luna: Those two sure don't need any help.

Megan: Oh, they're young. Everything and everyone is against them, but love is all they need.

Adriana: Shh! Someone will hear us.

River: I don't care. How'd you get out?

Adriana: I told Dorian I was really tired, and I went up to my room and I turned off all the lights and then I snuck out the window.

River: Wow. Good for you. Well, for me.

[Adriana laughs]

River: Hey, you feel weird, sneaking around on Dorian now that you know she's your mom?

Adriana: Funny how she just ignores me and then suddenly is interested when there's $30 million.

River: That's a lot of money.

Adriana: I don't care about the money. I don't even care about the rain or anything!

River: Hey, listen to me. Someday we're going to be together, just you and me, and no one can stop us.

Adriana: What do we do till someday comes?

River: We're going to get married, just like I promised you.

[Music plays]

Kelly: Oh, I remember this song. I love this song. We danced to this on our wedding night in our hotel room.

Kevin: Well, I remember that we didn't make it to the end of the song.

[Kelly laughs]

Kevin: Oh, I have a question for you.

Kelly: Mm-hmm?

Kevin: You wish we would have had a big wedding?

Kelly: No.

Kevin: Oh, come on, every woman wants the fantasy wedding, the big fairy-tale wedding. Come on.

Kelly: I didn’t.

Kevin: Yeah, that's too bad.

Kelly: Why?

Kevin: Well, you know, I mean, if you don't like big flashy things, then, you know, I probably shouldn't have gotten you this.

Kelly: Oh, it's beautiful.

Kevin: All right, now, listen --

Kelly: Hmm?

Kevin: If you could do it all over again -- hey, if you knew what you knew now, that I could do terrible, hurtful things, would you do it all over again?

Kelly: Yes.

Marcie: Sometimes when I'd look at Al, I'd get terrified, you know, something was going to take him away from me, a car accident or something we did ourselves to ruin things. It's terrible, but misunderstandings -- they just tear people apart all the time. I told Al what I was thinking, and he told me he was as scared as I was. So we swore then and there that we'd never let anything tear us apart. Not even death. Not even death. The best gift life can give you is a great love. But even they can get on our nerves. They can make us mad; they can make us say things we regret. We love them so much, but they get under our skin. You know, they can make us miserable. They can give us joy. They know us. They let us be us. But if you push your great love away, you're pushing away your own soul.

Starr: You should listen to her, mom. If you put dad in jail, there's no hope for any of us.

Riley: Tonight would be a complete wash if Simply Red wasn't playing.

Jen: What happened?

Riley: Oh, the usual. My dad.

Jen: Yeah, I wish my dad were even around. You know, he always knew exactly what to say to help me figure things out.

Al: R.J., Hey, R.J., Listen, do you think maybe you could hold the band off for just a couple more minutes?

R.J.: Well, it shouldn't be a problem. They've only just arrived, and I'm sure they'll want to take some time out to eat that meal I sent in.

[Al sighs]

Evangeline: You're the miracle worker that brought Simply Red to Llanview.

Al: Well, the miracle hasn't happened yet.

Evangeline: Sounds like there's a woman involved.

R.J.: Then shouldn't she be here by now?

Al: I think she's going to get here after her radio broadcast. See, I figured she'd get here by the time Simply Red did their first set, but she doesn't know they're playing. It's a surprise.

Evangeline: Oh.

R.J.: So why am I still looking at you? Go. Take your butt to the radio station and bring her back here.

Al: Right.

Marcie: Al and I took a poetry survey class at L.U. Together, and he really wasn't crazy about all that lyrical stuff, but there was one that he liked by Yeats. "Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, inwrought with golden and silver light, the blue and the dim and the dark cloths of night and the light and the half-light, I would spread the cloth at your feet."

Kevin: We're going to make it, you know. One big happy family, baby.

Kelly: Yeah.

Kevin: I promise you.

Kelly: I will love you forever. I promise.

[Music plays]

Marcie: "But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams."

River: I, River, take you, Adriana, to be my love forever.

Adriana: I, Adriana, take you, River, to be my love no matter what happens, no matter what anybody says, forever and ever.

Al: "Remember me when I am gone away, gone far away to the silent land."

Marcie: Why'd you stop?

Al: It's just another drunken Irish poet writing about death.

Marcie: It's Christina Rossetti. She's a long way from Irish and she's definitely not a drunk.

Al: Oh. Well, you and me -- we don't have to worry about things like death anymore, not since you got me off the drugs.

Marcie: I couldn't have listened to you read it back then, but -- it would have been too sad, but now it's beautiful.

Al: I'm never going to leave you, Marcie.

Marcie: Read it for me, please? Please?

Luna: It's 25 till 12:00. We've got to do something.

Megan: Luna, you've broken enough rules already. It's up to Marcie and Al now.

Al: Hey, where -- where is Marcie? Do you know where she went?

Man: No, I don't know, but she was real upset when she left.

[Hip-hop music]

Dorian: David, would you fasten the clasp for me?

David: You don't want to wear that old thing against a beauty like --

Dorian: David, there's a stone missing from my necklace!

David: What? No, there's not.

Dorian: You didn't take it, did you?

David: It's not missing -- exactly. Not here, not in the foyer. All right, look, it's in here. Just open it before I take it back.

Dorian: Oh, my. What is this?

David: I think you know what that is.

Dorian: It looks like you took a stone out of my necklace without my permission and you had it made into a traditional engagement ring.

David: I never could get anything past you, could I?

Dorian: David --

David: All right, look, I'm not a traditionalist, all right? God knows you aren't either, so -- all right, I -- uh -- look, this hurts my back. Why do guys do this? Could you please help me up? Look, it's just a -- you know what kind of ring it is, so -- give me your finger. So what do you say?

Dorian: It is lovely.  And it fits?

David: Yeah, well, it better. I swiped one of your other ones to measure it.

Dorian: What?

David: Look it was -- relax. Just a loaner.

Dorian: That is a very fine amethyst ring. Did you have the stone replaced?

David: Why didn't I think of that? I'm losing my touch, aren't I?

Dorian: Hmm.

David: Look, I just want you to wear this around for a little while, ok? Just to see how it feels.

Dorian: Oh, David.

David: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Judge: Has the jury reached a decision?

Woman: Yes. We find the defendant guilty on all counts.

Judge: Starr Manning will be taken to prison immediately.

Starr: Mom, mom, why are you doing this? Why are you trying to ruin our lives? Mom!

Todd: Damn it.

Guard: Shut up, Manning!

Todd: Hey. Hey, you know what, Weber? You're going to get me out of here tonight. Now, ok, I'm a wealthy man. You know that, right? As much as you want. I'm serious. I need to see my wife tonight.

Al's voice: "Better by far you should forget and smile, than that you should remember and be sad."

Viki: You gave me so much. You know that you're really the one who taught me to enjoy my life and to live it, just live it day by day.

Ben: Ow.

Viki: I'm not hurting.

Ben: Ow.

Viki: I'm not even anywhere near you.

[Viki laughs]

Ben: You are irresistible.

Viki: And we're late for the Founder's Day Ball.

Ben: Why go? I already found you.

Viki: Well, what do you think the founders would say if we didn't show at all?

Ben: I don't think we care what they say. But if we did, I think they would say that I'm the luckiest man in all of Llanview and some of the surrounding towns.

Viki: Oh, no, no, I'm the lucky one.

[Music plays]

Viki: Oh, that is so spooky.

Ben: Well, go with it, Blondie.

Singer: Sweetie pie all the day and nighttime hear me sigh I've never had the least notion that I could fall with so much emotion

Viki: Can you hear that? Do you remember it?

Singer: Could you? Could you care for a cunning cottage?

Viki: Ben? Can you hear me, darling?

Singer: We could share? The world will pardon my mush

Todd: I know you love me, Blair. You just have to let yourself feel it.

Blair: I do love you, Todd.

Blair: Todd, I love you.

Todd: It's Valentine’s Day. I got to be with my wife. I'll give you any amount of money you want. I'll put your kids through college. All right? I got to get out of this hellhole right now.

Officer Weber: You're not going anywhere, Manning. And what I read about your wife and Kevin Buchanan, she may be moving up in the world.

Todd: You shut your damn mouth! Ah? Ha-ha-ha!

Natalie: Damn it!

Jessica: Are you sure that you want to be here right now?

Natalie: I'm positive. This is where Cristian asked me to marry him. We had our engagement party here. Many a good night up here.

Jessica: Yeah. It feels really safe up here, like nothing bad could ever happen. Even now.

Natalie: Yeah, it's almost heavenly.

Jessica: What's this doing here?

Natalie: That's weird. This looks like the lace from my wedding veil that Carlotta made me. How did it get up here?

R.J.: At long last, the moment we have all been waiting for. Performing "Sunrise" from their new album, "Home," please welcome Simply Red.

[Cheers and applause]

[Music plays]

Man: Come on.

Man: As I look into your eyes I see the sunrise the light behind your face helps me realize we sleep and sometimes love until the moon shines maybe the next time I'll be yours and maybe you'll be mine I don't know if it's even in your mind at all it could be me at this moment in time is it in your mind at all? It could be me it should be me

Singers: Oh, my, oh, my

Man: Forever forever wondering through live will love come home to you? And the love you want forever will they be true to you? We sleep and sometimes love until the moon shines maybe the next time I'll be yours and maybe you'll be mine I don't know if it's even in your mind at all it could be me

Jen: He just wants what he can't have.

Rex: I got you something else.

Jen: I don't want anything from you.

Rex: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Jen: I don't want anything from you.

Rex: Just open it. Please.

Rex: I found it when I was moving out after the divorce. I thought you might want it, so --

Jen: Thank you. I really want to go home right now.

Rex: Yeah, anything you want, Jen.

Man: I don't know if it's even in your mind at all it could be me at this moment in time is it in your mind at all? It could be me it should be me

Man: Forever at this moment in time is it in your mind at all? It could be me it should be me

Singers: Oh, my, oh, my

Man: Forever forever forever

[Cheers and applause]

Riley: Pretty amazing, huh?

Marcie: Are you kidding? They're my favorite. Have you seen Michael McBain?

Riley: Not for a while, but, you know, he's the one who got Simply Red here tonight to play.

Marcie: Really?

Riley: For you.

Al: Where is she? I got to find her right now.

Luna: Darling, I -- I can't say.

Al: It's almost midnight! I have to! You have to tell me where she is! I got to find her!

Luna: Honey, if I do, I'm going to blow this whole thing, and I've got to have faith in the power of love.

Al: Faith?

Luna: Yes, faith.

Al: There's no time for faith, Luna! You got to tell me where she is!

Al: How am I supposed to find her now, Luna? I got, like, five minutes!

Luna: Faith. Pray for a miracle. Pray for a miracle!

Al: Oh, god, please.

Natalie: When Cristian and I were together, it was like flying. And maybe it's -- maybe it's time to send out all that love and let it fly.

Al: I know where she is. Capricorn.

Luna: Yes! Oh! Oh, my! Oh, darling! Good luck. Go love her. Oh, go! Go love her! Be happy!

[Luna laughs]

Al: Thank you.

Luna: Whew. Thank you. Whoever did that.

Megan: Now do you have faith?

Luna: I thought we weren't supposed to interfere.

Megan: I didn’t. The mortals did it all on their own.

Luna: Now, I see you didn't come all this way just to teach me that lesson.

Megan: No. I have my own task to accomplish. Someone needs my help.

Viki: Ben? You did hear me, didn't you? Oh, darling, I know you did. You just smiled, and you squeezed my hand. You know something? Even if I never, ever see that smile again, I want you to know that you have brought me so much happiness and so much love. I know you love me, and I will love you always.

Viki: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Singer: Could you coo? Could you care for a cunning cottage we could share? The world will pardon my mush 'cause I have got a crush

Ben: Hello, Blondie.

Singer: My baby on you

Marcie: Excuse me. I'm sorry about that.

Al: Marcie, please, don't go.

Marcie: Michael, I'm really wiped out.

Al: I know. I heard your broadcast for Al, and I understand how you must be feeling.

Marcie: You think you do, but you don’t. I mean, it's nothing personal.

Al: I get that. Did -- did you like the band?

Marcie: Are you kidding me? They were amazing. I don't know what to say except thanks.

Al: Will you dance with me? Please? Before midnight? Just one dance before the night is over? It's really important. Please, please, please, please?

Marcie: We have no music.

Man: My love I'd never find the words my love

Marcie: Ok, ok.

Man: To tell you how I feel my love mere words could not explain

Evangeline: You are so romantic.

R.J.: Me? Romantic?

Man: Precious love you held my life within your hands created everything I am taught me how to live again only you came when I needed a friend believed in me through thick and thin this song is for you filled with gratitude and love god bless you you make me feel brand new for god blessed me with you you make me feel brand new I sing this song 'cause you make me feel brand new

Al: Marcie? You ok?

Marcie: I feel kind of funny.

Al: Look at me. Your future is right in front of you. Look in my eyes, Marcie. You just keep looking, ok, and I swear to you, you will find exactly what you are looking for. What do you see, Marcie?

Man: Precious friend with you I'll always have a friend you're someone whom I can depend

Stay tuned for scenes from the next "one life to live."

On the next "one life to life" --

Blair: I can't do it, Nora. I can't testify against Todd.

Al: I want you to kiss me.

Marcie: No! I don't know! I don't --

Al: Just do it.

Megan: Dr. Davidson opened his eyes.

Asa: Ben is out of his coma?

Viki: Oh, darling, I love you so much.
