Renee: R.J.

R.J.: What's going on? What -- what happened here?

Antonio: Make it another.

Cristian: Are you going to tell me what's going on?

Antonio: I said give me another drink!

[Tape stops]

Asa: Oh, I think we've seen enough, Willy.

Dawes: You son of a --

Asa: Hey, don't you start on my mama, Willy. It's a simple little deal -- no more chandeliers falling down and no more nasty pictures sent to Kevin's wife.

Dawes: Are you implying that I had anything to do with --

Asa: And don't -- please don't insult my intelligence! No, no, I won't turn it on again, but, boy, watching you breathing hard and sweating on that little hoOKer -- enough to gag a maggot. Oh, Lord, almighty, your poor wife! If she ever saw that -- whoo-hoo, she'd keel right over.

Dawes: You think you won this round.

Asa: "This round"? It's over! I won the fight, the title, and the belt. If you want a rematch, forget it.

Dawes: Oh.

Kevin: I値l take this.

Asa: Yeah, yeah, put it in a safe place. Hey -- damn you, Kevin!

Kevin: I told you not to go this route.

Asa: Fire with fire!

Kevin: No, I壇 try water first. It's my career, Asa, not yours. I can't live with being this kind of a politician.

Marcie: Al? Are you OK? Come on, it's going to be OK.

Al: My mother has to go through this crazy surgery because of me.

Marcie: No. No. It's for you. It's different.

Al: No, it's because of me, Marcie. I cooked my liver with drugs. I thought that because I was young and healthy that I was immune to stuff like this.

Marcie: Oh, no, listen to me. It was because of me. I gave you that infection.

Al: I could have fought the virus off just like you did if I hadn't wrecked my body with drugs. And now my mother has to go through this horrible surgery, painful recovery. It's all because of me.

Marcie: You look at me. Look at me. Your mother, she loves you. And so do I. And do you think me and your mother would love a screwup?

Bo: I知 proud of you, honey.

Gabrielle: Hey, it's just my liver.

Bo: Yeah, but what an amazing thing to be able to give.

Gabrielle: Well, you know, I don't think there's a parent alive that wouldn't give any part of themselves, if not their whole life, to save their child, right?

Bo: That's right. And you're lucky to have the chance.

Gabrielle: I know. It's OK. We're going to be OK. Don't worry.

Bo: Marry me, Gabrielle.

Gabrielle: Wh-- what?

Bo: Well, this isn't, you know, how I planned to ask you or anything. It sure isn't the place. I've been carrying this thing around for weeks now, and I was just waiting for the right time, and I figured, hell, there's no time like the present. So, what do you say? Do you want to get married?

Gabrielle: Ye-- yes! Oh, God, yes!

Antonio's voice: Keri, for God's sake, don't do this!

Keri: I am going to love knowing that you are just as unhappy as I am. And I知 going to make sure that you and your little whore are never together.

Antonio: No!

R.J.: No, no, no. No, no, no. No! No!

Gabrielle: Oh, Bo. It's beautiful. It's magnificent. This is going to be our good-luck charm. This is a promise of good things to come. I can feel it. Al is going to be all right, he's going to be fine, and we are going to recuperate together, and then I am going to -- well, I知 going to marry the man that I love so much.

Bo: Oh --

[phone rings]

Bo: Oh. I知 sorry. Buchanan. You know what? This is a real bad time. Just have Grainger take care of whatever for me -- oh -- it -- no, wait, wait. Are you sure? All right. I値l be there as soon as I can.

Gabrielle: What was that?

Bo: Something I got to handle myself.

Gabrielle: It's all right. Listen, you go and take care of whatever you have to go and take care of.

Bo: And I知 going to get back just as fast as I can, all right?

Gabrielle: Yeah, yeah.

Bo: You tell -- tell Al I知 thinking about him. Max, do me a favor. Would you watch out for her?

Max: Sure thing.

Gabrielle: I think this is going to bring good luck. I think everything is going to be just fine.

Max: I hope so.

Marcie: Come on. What if it were the other way around and your mom's liver shut down and you knew that you could save her by giving her part of yours? I know that you would do it.

Al: Right. I definitely would.

[Al sighs]

Al: My mom is making this huge sacrifice for me. I don't feel like I知 worth it.

Marcie: No. Don't you say that. You know, I felt like that most of my life until I met you.

Kevin: I said no gutter tactics. I will not sink to setting up my enemies with hookers.

Asa: From where I stand, Kevin, it played out damn well. I got leverage on Dawes and you got away squeaky clean.

Kevin: And it doesn't bother you that you gave no consideration to what I want?

Asa: Not a damn bit. But I do love your moral indignation. It's perfect. We're a team.

Kevin: No, we're not a team, not anymore. I don't want an advisor who can't respect my position.

Asa: I知 your only protection, Kevin. Turn me loose, you go up in smoke. Adios. Oh, by the way, Kevin, look for new housing.

Kelly: What happened? Asa seemed tense.

Kelly: Yeah, yeah, it's -- well, we both were, but it's over now.

Dawes: Yeah, they think they kicked my butt. No, let them, let them. They'll find out soon enough. They have no idea what I can do.

Kelly: I知 proud of you for standing up to Asa.

Kevin: Thanks.

Kelly: I have been worried that he would eventually get you into trouble. And I guess he finally did, with everything that happened with Dawes.

Kevin: No, I told him not to do that, but he wouldn't listen to me, you know? But it's clear now and he's backing off.

Kelly: So that's why he looked so --

Kevin: Yeah.

Kelly: Oh, honey, I知 so sorry. I know how much it meant to you for you guys to work together. But if it means living under Asa's rule, I mean, your soul is an awfully high price to pay for a career in politics.

Kevin: "My soul"? Kelly, is that what you think? Do you think that I was I was bargaining off my soul?

Kelly: It's a figure of speech.

Kevin: No, it's not. I mean, if you have so little faith in me that you think that I would actually do something like that?

Kelly: Kevin, I知 just saying there are pitfalls everywhere.

Kevin: Look, I can't do this if you don't have faith in me.

Kelly: I do.

Kevin: Well, it doesn't sound like it, when we are so close to everything we dreamed of.

Kelly: Kevin, I was just saying -- I mean, things happen --

Kelly: I -- I got to make some calls. By the way, I took --

Kevin: What?

Kelly: How about that? I forgot what I was going to say.

Kevin: Well, was it about the --

Kelly: No, it was nothing. It was nothing.

[Phone rings]

Kevin: Hello.

Joey: Hey. Well, I was calling to see how the new lieutenant governor was, but I think I just got my answer.

Kevin: Hey, Joey. I知 fine.

Joey: This is what "fine" sounds like?

Kevin: No.

Joey: What's the matter?

Kevin: Oh, it's something that's bothering Kelly. I don't know what it is.

Joey: And I suppose asking her would be too simple?

Kevin: Yeah, well, could you come over here and check for me and just see why she's so down?

Bo: I don't want anybody in the courtyard except forensics, all right? I don't want it contaminated. Let me know as soon as the medical examiner gets here.

R.J.: I want to see my daughter.

Renee: R.J., where's Jamie?

R.J.: She's with the -- the hotel nanny.

Renee: And she'll take good care of her.

R.J.: I have got to see my daughter!

Bo: R.J., R.J. -- You can't do anything for Keri right now. Look, let the medical examiner and the crime investigation unit handle this.

R.J.: Bo, she doesn't know them. She doesn't know them. They're strangers to her. I've got to be out there --

Bo: R.J., R.J., look, you can spend as much time with her as you want, but after they've finished, OK?

R.J.: I知 not leaving this spot.

Bo: OK.

Renee: R.J., why don't you sit down? R.J., do you want me to call Hank?

Evangeline: R.J. Gannon called me.

Bo: Let her in.

Evangeline: R.J.? R.J., What -- you didn't tell me what happened.

R.J.: It's Keri. It's Keri. She's --

Evangeline: No!

R.J.: Keri's -- Keri's dead. She's dead.

Evangeline: No.

Bo: Dr. Lee. Kevin, would you show Dr. Lee to the courtyard, please. Renee. What did you see?

Renee: Oh, the room was a mess. Stuff was thrown all over the place. The phone cord had been pulled out of the wall.

Bo: Had Keri checked out?

Renee: No.

Bo: What made you go to the room?

Renee: There'd been an argument earlier and I went to check and see that everything was OK.

Bo: Do you know who she was arguing with?

Renee: Yes. Antonio.

Joey: Hey. Are you OK?

Kelly: You know I知 always OK.

Joey: Kelly --

Kelly: Really, I am fine, OK? Oh, come on. I mean, every marriage has tough times. It's nothing fatal, nothing a baby won't fix.

Joey: Whoa. Are you pregnant? It's a reasonable question since you just said something about a baby.

Kelly: Kevin and I are not having a baby to fix our marriage, regardless of what some people think. It's just not having a baby yet is one of the many pressures that we're feeling today. Did Dorian talk to you?

Joey: Why would she? OK, nothing beyond her usual meddling. Is there something wrong?

Kelly: It's -- no. Dorian is just overreacting.

Joey: Why don't you tell me, see if I overreact.

Kelly: OK. There is a chance that I could have problems if I get pregnant, and Dorian doesn't think that I am going to be careful about that.

Joey: A chance? What's the chance?

Kelly: Oh, come on, can't we talk about something else? Let's talk about you and Jen.

Joey: What is it? Is there a risk?

Kelly: I could have a stroke if I carry to term. It's called thrombophilia.

Joey: Kelly, that's a heck of a risk.

Kelly: Not if I知 careful. And it's worth it, any risk, to have a baby.

Joey: Does Kevin agree?

Kelly: I can't talk to Kevin about this.

Joey: What? He doesn't know? Kelly, if your marriage is as strong as you say it is, why wouldn't you tell him that?

Gabrielle: Hey.

Al: They find another donor?

Gabrielle: Why? What's wrong with your old mother's liver?

Al: I was just hoping, you know.

Gabrielle: Well, you're stuck with me, kid. I have something to show you, though.

Al: Wow. Congratulations, Mom. I really want you to be happy.

Gabrielle: I am happy. I am going to give my handsome son a long, happy, healthy life, and I知 going to marry the man of my dreams.

Al: That's great, Mom.

Marcie: Can I see?

Gabrielle: Yes.

Max: Hey. What's wrong?

Al: I知 scared.

Max: Al, it's OK. It's a scary thing. But I知 telling you, we've got the best specialists rounded up. You're going to be fine.

Al: Good, because that's what I planned.

Bo: When Antonio opened the door, did you see Keri?

Renee: I saw both of them.

Bo: All right, after you asked him if everything was all right, what did he say?

Renee: He said everything was fine. There was such a tension in that room and the way he slammed that door, Antonio was obviously very angry.

Cristian: So, what is it? Is Jamie OK? Did you get ahold of Jessica, because Natalie says that she kept getting your voicemail. What is it, Antonio? Did Keri do something? You know what? Forget it. How'd you get that scratch?

Officer: I知 done here.

Dr. Lee: Let's get her to the morgue. I値l know more after the autopsy.

Officer: Hold it. You better get a shot of that.

R.J.: There was just no time. We didn't have any time.

Evangeline: I don't understand what happened here.

R.J.: Because she's just out there. Can I see her now?

Evangeline: The commissioner will let us know when we can see her. R.J., I don't understand. When I saw her in her room before, I knew she was upset, but -- but I didn't think --

R.J.: She did not jump! Don't even think that. She didn't jump. She did not climb up on that -- it was Vega. He was here. It was him. Bo? Bo, it's Vega! He was here!

Bo: I know, I know. I believe you, OK? But he just got joint custody. You know, there's no motive for him to do something like this.

R.J.: She was leaving town.

Bo: What do you mean?

R.J.: Keri was going to take Jamie away from town so Vega could never hurt her and he could never hurt Jamie.

Bo: All right. If that's true, we're going to follow up on it.

R.J.: She was terrified. She knew that he would find out about it and find her, and obviously he did, because he's killed her!

Joey: Dorian, it's Joe. I think I've pretty much got Kelly to level with me, but, I don't know, I知 going to try to get her to reconsider pregnancy, or at least tell Kevin the situation.

Kevin: Hey, I just saw Kelly's car leaving. Anything I should know about?

Joey: Yeah, there is. Hey, hey, don't look so worried. Just know that she really loves you and she'd risk anything for your happiness.

Kevin: What are you leaving out?

Joey: You need to spend more time with her.

Kevin: But that's it?

Joey: That's a lot. You need to tell her what's going on with you, and maybe that'll encourage her to open up about what's going on with her.

Kevin: Oh, thanks, Joey. You know, that helps me a lot. I ask you to talk to my wife, and you throw this confidentiality thing at me, this priest-parishioner crap --

Joey: I知 doing what I can, Kevin! I知 telling you you have got to get her to open up, or you could lose her.

Kevin: I値l do that, then.

Joey: Good. Good.

Kevin: Do you know where she went?

Joey: I don't know. Maybe Dorian's.

Kevin: Thanks.

Joey: Yeah.

Kelly: Da--

David: Hello, Kelly. Please keep your voice down

Kelly: What are you doing and why are you doing it here?

David: House sitting.

Kelly: Where's Dorian?

Dang it! She went to California, didn't she? Gosh. Yes. I believe she did.

Kelly: Oh. All right. Well, I値l let get back to doing whatever it is you were doing.

David: What? That's it? You're leaving?

Kelly: Well, yeah. Dorian isn't here, and you're kind of freaking me out.

David: Yeah, but look at this night. The water's warm, the air is cool, the stars are shining, the moon is up there somewhere. And besides, I need advice from you about your aunt. Come on. I値l make you laugh. You look like you could use a good laugh.

R.J.: My daughter is out there. Now, somebody put her there. Somebody killed my little girl! So don't give me that "calm down" talk, all right?

Bo: OK, just take a deep breath, OK?

R.J.: No. No, no, no, no, no, because, see, I know what comes next. You tell me you know how I feel, you understand, but I need to take a step back, right, let the cops do their thing. Oh, no. I need to be with my daughter. Are you going to let me do that?

Bo: Yes. Yes, R.J., I値l make sure that you get that chance, but, first, you do have to let the police do their jobs. Now, hey, you know that.

R.J.: Bo --

Bo: R.J., look, I know what you're going through right now. OK, I don't know how you feel because it's different for everybody.

R.J.: Come on, Bo, don't give me that.

Bo: Years ago -- in fact, it was on this exact day, my son Drew was killed. My child, you see. You know, I barely knew him until he was an adult, you know, just like you and Keri.

R.J.: I can't bear this.

Bo: I know. You know why? Hey, because it's wrong and because it's the worst wrong that there'll ever be. And I swear to you, if every cop in the department has to work 24 hours a day, we're going to find the truth for you. But you're going to have to let us, because right now we don't know anything. We have to investigate.

R.J.: Vega killed my daughter. I know it. You know it, too.

Bo: The only thing we do know for a fact is that another young person has lost her life long before her time.

R.J.: I知 not going anywhere till I see her again.

Bo: I know. I know. I understand.

R.J.: You can't let them move her till I see her.

Bo: I知 not going to. I知 going to make sure that you have all the time you want with her, R.J. You have my word on that. I swear.

Renee: Bo, I didn't make the connect to Drew.

Bo: Oh. And it's on the exact same day, too. Look -- I知 going to have to ask you some more questions, but, first, I want to check with forensics. All right.

Bo: Hold it.

Bo: Mrs. Reynolds' father is in there, and I知 sure that he wants to spend some time with his daughter. Give him all the time he wants. Understood?

Officer: Yes, sir.

Bo: What do you got for me?

Officer: Looks like there may have been a struggle before she went over. I found this. The south side --

Bo: You know what? Dust these cords for prints, also.

Officer: Already done, sir.

Bo: Thank you.

Evangeline: Commissioner!

Bo: What's wrong?

Evangeline: R.J. went after Antonio. He was sitting in the courtyard with Keri's body, and -- and all of a sudden, he just -- he --

Bo: Where is Antonio?

Evangeline: I don't know, and I don't think R.J. does, but he took off saying he would find him and kill him.

R.J.: Look, Carlotta, just relax, OK? I only want to talk to Antonio so that we can iron out the details of this new custody arrangement. Well, if he's not there, I値l -- I値l just keep trying his place.

[Phone rings]

Cristian: Crossroads.

R.J.: Cristian, this is R.J.

Cristian: Yeah?

R.J.: I知 looking for your brother. I need to talk to him about this custody arrangement.

Cristian: Well, he's here.

R.J.: Is he there now?

Cristian: Yeah, that's right.

Nurse: Everything is in order. Do you have any more questions, Mr. Holden?

Al: I just want to get it over with.

Nurse: Get some sleep. Ms. Medina, be sure to follow the written instructions we gave you.

Gabrielle: Oh, I will, I will. I値l be here by 8:00 in the morning, well rested and unfed. Thank you.

Marcie: Do you think you can just overlook me? You know, Al shouldn't really be alone tonight. Right. What was I thinking?

[Marcie chuckles]

Gabrielle: OK, so, tomorrow's our big day.

Al: I don't know what to say. I love you, Mom. Whew. Well, I promise to take better care of your liver than I did of mine.

Gabrielle: I am certain that you will wear it well.

Al: You're the best, Mom.

Gabrielle: So are you. So when this is all over -- and it will be soon and you're going to be strong and healthy -- would you do me the honors of walking me down the aisle?

Al: I would love to.

Nurse: Ahem.

Gabrielle: We're going to both be OK. You know that.

Marcie: Hey. I値l be here before your surgery tomorrow morning, OK?

Al: OK.

Marcie: All right.

Max: It looks like you're all kissed out, so I値l just say good night.

Al: Right.

Max: Sleep well.

David: You want some green tea? Your chi is all out of whack.

Kelly: OK. I値l try it.

David: You know, you should probably take a swim, also.

Kelly: Uh-uh.

David: Why not?

Kelly: I don't even have a suit.

David: Suit schmoot. There's probably something in the cabana that'll fit you. You know what? On second thought, maybe you shouldn't. You might actually start enjoying yourself.

Kelly: I know how to enjoy my -- here, take that. I知 going to find myself a suit. I値l show you. I know how to have a good time.

David: I値l be right here.

Kelly: I can't believe Aunt Dorian trusted you with her house. Are you sure you're not breaking in?

David: For once, I知 completely legit -- and insulted.

Kelly: You'll get over it.

David: Hey, I知 reformed.

Kelly: Hmm.

David: Seriously. Life in a Moroccan prison can put your goals in perspective.

Kelly: Goals? Goals like what?

David: Like not being in a Moroccan prison the rest of your life.

Kelly: How does one find themselves in a Moroccan prison anyhow?

David: Todd Manning is how. Besides, I would have gotten out if your aunt Dorian hadn't double-crossed me. I mean, honestly. What is it with you Cramer women that make you so irresistible?

Cristian: You got to tell me what's happening. All right, fine. No talking. But you're going to listen. Look, I don't know what your problem is, but sitting here drinking isn't going to solve anything.

Antonio: I shouldn't even be here. I値l be home with my daughter.

Kelly: Whew! Why aren't you swimming?

David: It usually involves getting wet.

Kelly: Oh. You don't like getting wet, huh?

David: No. Don't --

Kelly: How about that?

David: Don't do that!

[Kelly laughs]

David: Now you're going to get it.

Kelly: What, are you afraid you're going to melt or something?

David: I very well may melt, so stop it. Now you're going to get it.

[Kelly screams]

David: You're going to get it now.

Kelly: Oh, what are you going to do, throw me in? I just got kind of -- you're going to have to come up with something much better than that.

David: No, I知 going to get you.

Al: Hey. What are you doing here? How'd you get past Nurse Battle-Ratched?

Marcie: Magic. I couldn't let you be alone tonight. I didn't want to be alone, either.

Al: I知 glad you're here. The sleeping pill's not working. I figured I壇 just stay awake till they put me under in the morning.

Marcie: Well, maybe now you can sleep.

Al: Come here.

[Marcie giggles]

Al: Now I can sleep.

Marcie: Why couldn't you sleep?

Al: I知 scared.

Marcie: Me, too. But you're going to be fine. You are.

Al: Have you ever been walking home, you know, late at night, and you hear a noise and you get scared? You know, it's nothing, but your adrenaline kicks in. You start to run, and you run faster and faster, and the faster you run, the faster you have to run.

Marcie: You know what? You don't have to run. I知 going to carry you, and tomorrow you're going to get a brand-new liver.

Al: Slightly used.

Marcie: Just a little. But then you're going to live a long, wonderful life.

Al: A long, wonderful life with you.

Marcie: Yes, with me.

Bo: R.J., R.J., don't! Stop right where you are!

R.J.: I値l rip your heart out!

Antonio: What's going on?

R.J.: You killed her!

Cristian: What are you talking about?

R.J.: You shoved her off that balcony!

Antonio: What?

Bo: R.J., Listen --

Evangeline: R.J. --

Antonio: What?

Bo: Look, go be with Jamie! I want you somewhere, anywhere but here!

Evangeline: R.J., please! Come with me, please.

Bo: Come here, come here! R.J., listen to me, look at me, look at me! You know where I am in all this, right? I知 begging you right now, don't make me arrest you for assault. Come on. OK. No.

R.J.: You are done, Vega.

Cristian: What the hell -- what -- what's he talking about? Keri's dead?

Bo: Yeah.

Cristian: Well, how? What happened?

Bo: We don't know how. Either she fell or she jumped. She was pushed off the balcony in her hotel room. I hate to ask you, Antonio, but you know anything about this cross? It's yours, isn't it?

Antonio: You think I killed her.

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

David: There's only one man in your universe, and that's Todd Manning.

Kelly: The only thing that will hurt us politically is if one of us is having an affair, and I am not doing that.

R.J.: This time you're going down, Vega. I知 going to make it my personal mission in life.
