[alarm sounds]

Dorian: Aah!

Security guard: Stay right there, while I call the police.

Blair: What do you want, Kevin?

Kevin: I dreamed about you, and I don't dream very often. It was pretty intense.

Blair: Well, I don't want to know.

Kevin: I think you do.

Lindsay: Hi.

Rex: Oh, Lindsay --

Lindsay: Are you ok?

Rex: Yeah, I'll be ok. It's Jen that I'm worried about. She's never going to be happy.

Kelly: Oh, gosh. This is the last thing you need right now. You just got married.

Joey: No, it's ok. You need me, I'm here.

Kelly: Oh. I don't want you feeling sorry for me.

Joey: Come on. You know better than that, Kel. I care about you.

R.J.: To a job well done.

Keri: Evangeline, you are an incredible attorney.

Evangeline: I was just doing what I thought was right.

R.J.: Well, Jamie belongs with Keri, not Antonio or the Vegas.

Carlotta: You should be ashamed of yourselves, out celebrating, and Jamie isn't even with you.

Keri: Carlotta --

Carlotta: Don't even try to explain. Don't even try to pretend that you care about what's best for that child.

Keri: You don't know what you're talking about.

Carlotta: Oh, you'd rather leave her with some irresponsible babysitter than with her own father, or even her own grandmother?

R.J.: Stop. You have no say in this!

Carlotta: Excuse me, but grandparents have rights, too.

Keri: Antonio and I were never married. He's not even the father of record.

Carlotta: But he is that child's father. And he loves her more than anything. You know that, Keri. What happened to that sweet girl that I used to know? How did you get so bitter and mean like this?

R.J.: Come on. You know what it is. It's your boy, Antonio.

Antonio: Did you hear what I said?

Jessica: I heard you.

Antonio: I love you, Jessica. And I don't want to lose you.

Jessica: I don't know what to say.

Antonio: I wanted you to know that before I tell you exactly what happened with Keri on the terrace. And then if you don't believe me, if you still think I pushed her on the floor, then I'm out of here. I'm -- I'm gone, out of your life for good.

[Alarm sounds]

Dorian: Oh! Thank goodness you're here. I was just coming to get you.

Security guard: Were you?

Dorian: Yes, indeed. I just -- silly me, I forgot to turn off the alarm, and --

[alarm stops]

Dorian: Ah. There, you see? Oh, I feel so foolish. And thank you. I -- as you see, everything's just fine now.

Security guard: No, it's not. Who are you, and how did you get in here?

Dorian: Oh, I am, um, Mr. Laurence's employer at "The Sun." And, um, he sent me here to get something. Yes, you see, I -- I have the key, and -- I see that you don't believe me, so why don't I just call him? I'll dial -- I can tell you, he is not going to be happy when he hears what a hard time you gave me. Um --

Security guard: Hey, never mind. Look, tell him to let us know next time.

Dorian: Oh, I will. Thank you. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help. Thank you. Good night.

[Dorian sighs]

Dorian: Ooh.

Walker: Ahem. You know, you're missing your big scoop there.

Kevin: What?

Walker: Yeah, your grandpappy and the Governor are out on the terrace. They wouldn't give me a quote.

Kevin: Ah, that's too bad. You'll have to read about it in "The Banner," I guess.

Walker: Ha! I guess so. But I'm off duty, anyway. Blair and I are having dinner -- kind of a date.

Kevin: Is that right?

Blair: Yeah. Um -- so, if you don't mind --

Walker: Yeah.

Kevin: Well, why would I?

Walker: My lady.

Blair: Thank you.

Walker: Do you -- are you sure you want to stay here?

Blair: Kevin Buchanan can't spoil my life.

Walker: Yeah, me, neither.

Joey: I am so sorry I said what I did.

Kelly: No -- hey, look, Kevin and I have been married for a long time. And the kid question -- that comes up.

Joey: It's just I know how much you love children, and all the charity stuff you do for them.

Kelly: Yeah, you'd think I'd have some of my own.

Joey: Lots of people don't want to have kids.

Kelly: I do.

Joey: Is it Kevin?

Kelly: No, no, it just -- it hasn't happened.

Joey: Is there some sort of problem?

Kelly: No. Oh, look, we're just so busy. That's all.

Joey: So, that's it, then? Or is it?

Kelly: It's just going to take us a lot longer than most people, that's all.

Joey: Well, have you seen a doctor?

Kelly: Today.

Joey: And?

Kelly: I should talk to Kevin about this first.

Joey: Right.

Kelly: You know? And I really -- I got to get going. I got to get changed still, and I got to meet them for dinner with the Governor.

Joey: Hey -- are you going to be ok?

Kelly: Yeah. I feel better already.

Jen: Hungry?

Joey: I am starving.

Jen: Hope it's not cold.

Joey: It's hot enough for me.

Jen: I'm talking about the food.

[Joey chuckles]

Jen: So, I was waiting for you. You -- you looked busy.

Joey: Yeah. I'm really sorry about that. You don't mind, do you?

Jen: Why should I?

Joey: Well, she is my ex-girlfriend.

Jen: And your brother's wife.

Joey: Yeah. Are you ok with that?

Jen: Yeah, I mean, it's -- it's good that -- it's good that she knew she could come to you when she needed to talk. That's one of the things I love most about you.

Joey: I hope so because it's going to happen a lot, you know? You hanging around waiting while I'm talking to some parishioner.

Jen: Am I complaining?

Joey: Well, it's not much fun.

Jen: Well, I am not in this for fun, no matter what Rex thinks.

Lindsay: You don't have to worry about Jen.

Rex: Look, she's screwing herself up, marrying Joe Buchanan.

Lindsay: Rex, I've never seen her happier in my life.

Rex: Well, it won't last. She's only in it for the rush. She gets off on that, when things are still new and exciting.

Lindsay: I think it's a little bit more than that.

Rex: She does, too. But she's only doing what -- what she thinks is right, not what is right for her.

Lindsay: And you think that's you?

Rex: Hey, I don't want to change her, not like Joe does.

Lindsay: She wants to change, too.

Rex: For him, not for herself. She thinks that that's going to make her happy. There's only one person that can do that -- Jen herself.

Lindsay: You think so?

Rex: Damn right.

Lindsay: Hmm. Are you happy?

R.J.: Come on, Keri, you do not have to stay here to listen to this.

Carlotta: Keri, I know exactly what you're up to. Antonio is with Jessica, and you can't stand that. So you're using your own child to get back at him.

Keri: How dare you --

Carlotta: Oh, it's so clear. Once you realized that you couldn't get him back, you decided to hurt him. But you're destroying your own daughter's happiness in the process. It's unforgivable.

Evangeline: Is there any truth to what Mrs. Vega is saying?

Antonio: Keri called me and asked me to come up to the terrace so that we could talk and work things out with Jamie. But when I -- when I got there, though, she wasn't making any sense. She was talking about how she was going to make my life miserable. I knew she was just trying to get to me, and -- and I didn't let her. But, Jessica, what you saw is what -- is what she wanted you to see.

Jessica: How?

Antonio: I tried to reason with Keri. Ok? But she would have -- she would have none of it. And when she -- she tried to leave, I -- I just reached out to touch her arm. I swear, all I did was try to touch her arm. And suddenly -- suddenly, she's acting like I pushed her on the floor.

Jessica: So you really didn't do it?

Antonio: Jessica, I know it's hard for you to believe with the way I've been acting lately and with everything that's been going on, but I would never hit a woman. I would never, ever hit a woman. And I would never do anything to harm my daughter. Jessica, I'm just sorry that you have been caught up in this -- in this whole mess. And I -- I -- I can't help but -- but blame myself. And I understand if you don't want to see me anymore. But I hope -- I hope you reconsider. I really hope you do.

R.J.: Just pay no attention to anything that Carlotta Vega has to say. Look, that woman has had it in for me for years.

Evangeline: She was talking to Keri.

R.J.: About her precious son. Look, let's not get confused here. Antonio is a menace. You saw what he did to Keri. And you've helped us stop him from ever having that happen with Jamie.

Evangeline: So, where are you and Jamie going from here?

Keri: Nowhere.

Evangeline: You're staying in Llanview?

Keri: Why shouldn't I?

Evangeline: I just assumed you'd want to get as far away from Antonio as possible.

Keri: I'm not going to let him drive me out of my home.

Evangeline: Aren't you worried about another incident? Not to mention having to see him with Jessica Buchanan. I mean, isn't that going to be hard on you?

Keri: Just as hard as it's going to be for him to see me with his daughter.

Walker: I'm really glad you asked me out tonight.

Blair: Me, too.

Walker: And I'm glad you didn't let what's-his-name get to you.

Blair: Who?

Kevin: Hey.

Kelly: Hi. I'm so sorry I'm late.

Renee: We're so glad that you could make it.

Kelly: Governor Brooks, a pleasure, as always.

Governor Brooks: It's wonderful to see you again.

Kelly: Thank you.

Asa: What kept you, Kelly?

Kelly: I had to drop some things off at St. James, remember? A fundraiser I'm getting ready for the Angel Square kids.

Governor Brooks: I've always admired the charity work you've done for the children.

Kevin: Kelly's an angel when it comes to children.

Asa: So, when are you two going to have a little baby? He'd be a handsome little devil -- or she.

Kelly: Kevin and I think having children is something that you don't enter into lightly.

Kevin: Mm-hmm. But when the time comes, we plan to have plenty.

[Phone rings]

Kevin: Oh. Excuse me.

[Ring]

Kevin: It's "The Banner." I'm sorry. I'll be right back.

Asa: Poor Kevin. He's so busy. Everybody wants a piece of him.

Kevin: What's up?

Elyssa: Look behind you.

Kevin: What are you doing here?

Elyssa: I'm checking in.

Kevin: Good because I --

Blair: Pete, could you give me a copy of today's "Sun," please?

Pete: Sure.

Blair: Thanks.

Kevin: I'll call you back.

Blair: Well, you didn't have to hang up because of little old me.

Kevin: Oh, no. Is your date over already?

Blair: I just wanted to show Walker something in "The Sun."

Kevin: Well, I'm glad you're having a good time.

Blair: What's that supposed to mean, Kevin?

Kevin: I'm just glad you're having fun. Look, Blair, I've made some mistakes. And --

Blair: Yeah, you have.

Kevin: But I'm back on track.

Blair: Oh, me, too. Yeah. And that's good. Um -- you know, we're actually in sync.

Kevin: Yeah, I'd say so.

Blair: So, are you back on track because of this little dream that you had about me?

Kevin: That's it, exactly. Actually, I -- I dreamed that we were starting over, you know. We're going to be friends.

Blair: Well, I hope we can -- be friends.

Pete: Here's your newspaper, ma'am.

Blair: Thank you, Pete.

Pete: You're welcome.

Blair: See you around.

Elyssa: What did you want?

Kevin: Listen, those medical records didn't check out, ok? So I want you to get Walker's fingerprints, take them to Daniel Colson down at the D.A.'s office. He'll run a check on them, find out just who Walker Laurence really is.

Dorian: Blair? Hello, anybody home?

Starr: That's Walker's.

Blair: I had a really good time tonight. I'm just sorry that it has to end.

Walker: Well, we could go back to my place. Whatever.

Blair: I'd like that.

Carlotta: I've been looking everywhere for you. Are you all right?

Antonio: I've had better days.

Carlotta: It's just plain wrong keeping your child away from you. And that's exactly what I told Keri and R.J. And that fancy lawyer of theirs!

Antonio: Mami, you shouldn't have done that.

Carlotta: Well, somebody has to tell them the truth. How could they do this to you and to Jamie? And this has nothing to do with protecting her. Don't they realize that they're hurting her, trying to keep her father away from her? Why, that's --

Antonio: My daughter.

R.J.: Ok. What?

Evangeline: Mrs. Vega wasn't very far off the mark.

R.J.: I told you that it is a very old grudge.

Evangeline: Keri didn't dispute it. She didn't even try very hard.

R.J.: Antonio hurt Keri. And he is getting exactly what he deserves.

Evangeline: R.J., I'm talking to you not as a lawyer, but as a friend. One who cares a lot about you. If you're not concerned about your daughter, you should be.

Jessica: Keri.

Keri: Hey, Jessica. It's cute.

Jessica: Oh.

Keri: Oh, it's a gift from Antonio.

Jessica: Listen, you really shouldn't be here right now.

Keri: You really care about Antonio, don't you?

Jessica: You know that I do.

Keri: Then you need to hear what I have to say.

Walker: What? I have dinner still on my face or something?

Blair: , No. I -- I was just thinking.

Walker: About?

Blair: My aunt.

Walker: Oh, yes. Let's kill the mood.

Blair: No, look, she gave us her blessing, didn't she?

Walker: Hmm. Probably just because she wants something.

Blair: Maybe. She actually worries about me. I kind of screwed up before Todd and actually after Todd and -- to her, even with Todd.

Walker: I thought you didn't want to talk about Todd anymore.

Blair: I just want things to be different.

Walker: Well, they will be.

Blair: Why? Because you're different?

Walker: Well, I'm not Todd.

Dorian: I found the Badhra -- the Badhra diamond. Yeah, or rather what's left of it. No wonder Walker Laurence said it didn't exist.

David: What are you talking about? What happened?

Dorian: He had it broken up and made into a necklace.

David: How many stones?

Dorian: 36. Good cuts -- it's exquisite.

David: But not what the Badhra was worth.

Dorian: Oh, I'd say it was still quite valuable, worth a sizable sum.

David: How many million, do you think?

Dorian: To my eye? Well into the teens.

David: I'll be right there.

Dorian: Love to you, too.

Jessica: If you're here, if you're here to tell me to stay away from Antonio again --

Keri: No, I'm way past that.

Jessica: Then what do you want?

Keri: To warn you. You never know what Antonio might do.

Jessica: Yeah, yeah. You've told me all this before.

Keri: You saw what he did to me.

Jessica: Or what you wanted me to believe that he did to you. Antonio has a very different story.

Keri: And you believe him?

Jessica: Why are you telling me all of this again?

Keri: Because it's only going to get worse.

Jessica: What other damage are you going to do? What else do you have stored for Antonio?

Keri: The judge said that Antonio has to stay away from Jamie for at least a year. Do you really think he can do that? He's already on edge as it is. The least little thing is going to just set him off.

Jessica: And whose fault is that?

Keri: I wouldn't have done what I did if Antonio could control himself, but he can't. He tries for a little while, and then something happens and he totally loses it, just like he did with R.J.

Jessica: R.J. --

Keri: You saw that, too, Jessica. That wasn't R.J. throwing himself on the ground.

Jessica: R.J. Provoked him.

Keri: Antonio would have killed him if you hadn't stopped him. This is not the first time this has happened, and it's not going to be the last. You better just hope that next time it's not you.

Carlotta: Look at her. She's not even paying attention to Jamie. Anyone could just walk up to that child and just snatch her away.

Lindsay: The client that I had a meeting with here canceled, and I hate eating by myself. When do you leave for your honeymoon?

Jen: I don't. But I still can't meet you. Reverend Carpenter is sick, so Joe had to take over for him.

Lindsay: You're by yourself?

Jen: Yeah. I'm ok, though. He's going to be back soon.

Lindsay: Ok, well, when he gets back, why don't you ask him if he'd like to join us, and then you can get back to me and let me know.

Jen: I will. Thanks, mom. Bye.

Lindsay: Hi.

Rex: Jen -- Jen's not on her honeymoon?

Lindsay: Oh, no. Actually, Joe can't leave because he's got to work. So I know she's disappointed, but she's not saying anything about it. Are you hungry?

Rex: What?

Lindsay: Well, I just ordered, and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to join me.

Rex: Oh, uh -- no. You know what? Normally, I'd take you up on that offer, but there's something I need to do, so I'll see you.

Keri's voice: I've seen Antonio's temper, and I'm not just talking about recently.

Jessica's voice: He's never taken it out on you.

Keri voice: Oh, no?

Antonio's voice: Aah!

Jessica's voice: Antonio!

[Keri screams]

Jessica's voice: Antonio!

Antonio's voice: What the -- Jessica.

Antonio's voice: I need you in my life. I'm in love with you.

[Girl laughs]

Antonio: Excuse me. But aren't you supposed to be watching this baby?

Girl: Who are you?

Antonio: Her father. I'm not supposed to be anywhere near her -- court order -- but I love her, and I'm not going to sit here and watch her be neglected.

Girl: I was watching her.

Antonio: Yeah? Well, I just walked up on her. Anyone could've taken her.

Girl: Sorry. I won't let it happen again, ok?

Antonio: That's right --

[phone rings]

Antonio: Because I'm going to tell her mother exactly what happened.

[Girl sighs]

Girl: I'll take her home right now.

Antonio: Yeah, you do that and make sure you don't take your eyes off her till her mother gets there.

Carlotta: Tonio? I know it took every ounce of self-control you have not to grab her and run.

Evangeline: Why didn't you? You could've been long gone before anyone would've known.

Antonio: Not with you standing there.

Evangeline: You didn't know that.

Antonio: Ok. I wanted to, seeing the way that babysitter was ignoring her.

Evangeline: So what stopped you?

Antonio: It was the wrong thing to do. See, Evangeline, I'm not like Keri. I think Jamie should have the chance to be loved by both her parents. But the judge said I have to wait for a year. It'll probably be the most difficult thing I've ever had to do. But I will if that's what it's going to take to get her back.

Blair: Oh, my god!

Walker: What's wrong?

Blair: Your -- your hands.

Walker: Well, what about them?

Blair: They're, like, totally smooth.

Walker: So?

Blair: So? Walker, it's like you don't have any fingerprints.

Keri: Thank you so much for calling me, Evangeline. I fired that babysitter. Jamie's with R.J. Now.

Evangeline: Good. I'd be more careful who I left her with from now on.

Keri: I don't understand. Now, what was Antonio doing there? He's not supposed to be anywhere near Jamie.

Evangeline: You should be thanking him.

Dorian: All right, come in quickly.

David: What, you got a date?

Dorian: Stop it. You can't be too careful.

David: Where's the necklace?

Dorian: Oh, the dog ate it. I mean, really. You think I'd just leave it out lying around? Good grief.

David: Dog? I thought you hated animals.

Dorian: Only the human kind. Would you mind turning your back, moving away -- something? Go.

David: What? I don't care what the combination is after I have the necklace, Dorian. Besides, I know what the numbers are, anyway. It's your birthday, right?

Dorian: Oh, you don't know the real year of my birth.

David: Something about the invention of the wheel, I believe.

Dorian: Ha, ha, ha, ha. You always did have a droll sense of humor.

David: Come on.

Dorian: Oh, my god.

David: What?

Dorian: The necklace -- it's gone.

Asa: It's been a real pleasure, Governor.

Governor Brooks: Thank you.

Renee: It was an honor to have you here.

Governor Brooks: It was a pleasure being here with you.

Kevin: I look forward to working with you in the future, sir.

Governor Brooks: Well, I'll admit, I had reservations, you being new to politics.

Kevin: Well, that can be a plus.

Governor Brooks: Well, they can't get you on your record.

[Laughter]

Governor Brooks: But there are other things, personal. A past divorce can be an issue. But now you have a lovely wife.

Kevin: Nobody's happier about that than me.

Kelly: Oh.

Governor Brooks: Well, you have a bright future ahead of you. I'll be in touch.

Kevin: Thank you very much.

Governor Brooks: Good seeing you.

Asa: I'll walk you out. This way.

Governor Brooks: Ok. Good night.

Renee: Good night.

Kelly: Finally, a moment alone. I wanted to finish what I started telling you earlier.

Kevin: Well, sure, sweetheart.

Kelly: Like --

Kevin: Can you make it quick, though? I have a meeting with someone.

Kelly: Business?

Kevin: Of course. I'm sorry. Is it -- is it important?

Kelly: No. It can wait. I'll catch up with you later, ok?

Kevin: Ok.

Kelly: Good night.

Kevin: Mm-hmm.

Starr: Kelly?

Kelly: Starr!

Starr: Hey.

Kelly: What are you doing here? Isn't it a little late?

Starr: Yeah. Um -- I'm looking for my mom and walker. Have you seen them?

Kelly: Well, they were here earlier, but they left.

Starr: Do you know where they went?

Kelly: No, I have no idea. I didn't even talk to them. Are you ok?

Starr: Yeah, I'm fine.

Kelly: How did you get here, anyway?

Starr: I drove over here.

Kelly: What?

Starr: No, I'm only 10. Hedy drove me over here.

Kelly: Well, why don't you tell Hedy to take you back home. I don't think your mother would appreciate you traipsing around all over town.

Starr: How would you know? You're not a mother.

Kelly: Good night, Starr.

Starr: Good night.

Starr: Hedy? Bring the car around front. You're taking me to walker's.

Blair: Walker, you didn't answer my question.

Walker: It's a complicated answer.

Blair: Are you in some kind of trouble with the law?

Walker: No. No. It's nothing like that.

Blair: Then why did you have your fingerprints removed?

Walker: Oh, I didn't -- not intentionally.

Blair: Well, how?

Walker: Uh -- there was an accident.

Blair: What happened?

Walker: Mitch. He --

Blair: Did he do something to you? Did -- look, Walker, hey, you can tell me. I mean, after everything that he did to me and to Todd --

Walker: You don't know what he did to Todd.

Blair: I know that Mitch killed Todd. It's taken me this long to finally accept it.

Walker: Have you?

Blair: I told you that I'm ready to move on. So what happened? Did Mitch cause this accident?

Walker: When I was a kid, there was a fire, and Mitch tried to put it out, but it was too late and my hands got burned. I mean, I had to have a lot of skin grafts to make them normal again.

Blair: Walker, that's awful.

Walker: No. I got used to it. But that's not why you pulled away from me, is it?

Blair: No.

Walker: Mm-hmm. Second thoughts?

Blair: I -- I -- I just haven't felt like this in a long time.

Walker: Since Todd?

Blair: Maybe that's why --

Walker: What?

Blair: That -- you remind me of him.

Walker: Hmm. Maybe there's something in me.

Blair: And what would that be?

Walker: Some part of him that you loved.

Blair: Maybe.

Walker: I want to make love to you, Blair.

Kevin: Did you find out who Walker Laurence is?

Elyssa: No, I can't.

Kevin: I told you to get his prints.

Elyssa: I did. At least, I tried.

Kevin: Well, what happened?

Elyssa: I picked up the glass that he was drinking from --

Kevin: Mm-hmm.

Elyssa: And I brought it to Colson's, like you said. We went straight to the lab, but it was the weirdest thing -- there was nothing on the glass, just the waiter's fingerprints.

Kevin: What are you telling me? Are you telling me that Walker Laurence doesn't have fingerprints?

Elyssa: Yeah. That's how it looks.

Jen: Oh. What are you doing here?

Rex: Getting religion.

Jen: That is not funny.

Rex: Who's joking? I'm giving up, ok? Joe wants you, he can have you.

Jen: Well, Joe already has me, and you don't have any say in it.

Rex: Can we still be friends?

Jen: After what you did to me?

Rex: Well, you got to admit, we had a blast.

Jen: No, I don't got to admit anything.

Rex: Ok. Cool. I just wanted to give you this.

Jen: What is it?

Rex: It's a V.I.P. pass for tomorrow night at Ultra Violet.

Jen: "Search and Destroy Night"?

Rex: Yeah. It's a new thing I'm doing. It's sort of a talent thing. The crowd either cheers their favorites or boos the losers offstage. It should be a kick, like the stuff you love.

Jen: Used to.

Rex: Oh, yeah, right. Tomorrow night's, what -- bingo in the church basement?

Jen: No, I plan on spending the evening with my new husband.

Rex: Ok. I hope so. He doesn't seem to be around too much. But, anyway, have a good time. Enjoy the punch and cookies, tell everybody I said hi. But if you change your mind --

Carlotta: Would you come back to the diner with me? At least you should have something to eat.

Antonio: No, mami, I'm -- I'm not hungry.

Carlotta: Isn't that --

Antonio: Jamie's. Make sure she gets it.

Carlotta: Of course. This next year is going to be so hard for you.

Antonio: Look, mami, I --

Carlotta: I can't even imagine.

Antonio: I -- I really need to be alone right now, ok?

Carlotta: I understand. Que dios te de fortaleza.

[Antonio sighs]

Jessica: Antonio. I've been looking all over for you.

Antonio: Why?

Jessica: To tell you I believe you -- about the Keri thing? I want to be with you.

Antonio: Wait a second. Is -- is this for real?

Jessica: Yes, it is. I love you, too, Antonio.

Man: You're not that good.

Natalie: Why don't you put your money where your mouth is?

Keri: If he thinks he's going to see his daughter again in a year, think again.

Starr: The only man who gets to be with my mom is my dad! And just for your information, he is coming back!
