Dorian: To our family and to all the good things in store for all of us.

Starr: Starting today.

River: You're not mad at me anymore?

Starr: No, not after you said that you would take me to the docks to go roller blading.

Dorian: No. No way! The docks are far too dangerous, Starr's only just learned how to roller blade, and I donít think it's a very good idea. Isn't that right? Donít you agree? Blair?

Walker: I paid you $10,000 to get Buchanan off my back. Did you do it or not?

Elyssa: Of course. I told him your story checks out.

Dorian: Blair?

Walker: How stupid do you think I am? You toOK my money and kept working for Buchanan. That wasn't smart. You're going to tell me everything you told him. Right now, all of it.

************************************************************************

Kevin: Yeah, is this Mount Williams Medical Center for Orthopedic Surgery? I called earlier about Walker Laurence. You have that information for me?

************************************************************************

Max: Try a little more draw next time.

Natalie: Yeah, Iíll try that.

Max: What are you here so early for? Your shift doesn't start till later.

Natalie: Actually, Iím covering for Cristian. He's on an interview to show some of his paintings at a New York art gallery.

Max: Not much to cover.

Natalie: Well, we need to find a way to get some people in here because Cristian and I definitely need the tips.

Max: Why are you messing with selling drinks when you could make some serious money with that stick of yours?

************************************************************************

Joey: Now that Jen and Rex are divorced, there's no reason why we canít be together.

Andrew: Well, Iím glad you waited.

Joey: Ahem. And now we'd like to take the next step. We want to be married as soon as possible.

************************************************************************

Jessica: I missed you so much, Mom.

Viki: I missed you, too, baby.

Jessica: How was the retreat?

Viki: The retreat -- well, it was interesting. Several of the university trustees wanted to burn me at the stake because of this whole Marcie Walsh business. But as you can see, I am back unsinged and actually in very good fighting form.

Jessica: That's great.

Viki: Yeah. So how's everything been here? All right?

Jessica: OK.

Viki: "OK." Tell me.

Jessica: Mom, it's -- it's so awful.

Viki: What's awful? What happened?

Jessica: Well, Keri's definitely trying to stop Antonio from ever seeing his daughter.

Viki: That's awful. What is Antonio doing about it?

Jessica: Everything wrong.

************************************************************************

R.J.: Vega is going back to Statesville where he belongs, and not because of what happened with me last night - - because of what he's done to you.

Keri: Iím not pressing charges against him.

R.J.: What?

Keri: I canít.

R.J.: You're going to let him get away with this?

Keri: He didn't do anything. It was me. I did it to myself.

R.J.: You? Deliberately?

Keri: I wanted to get back at Antonio. I wanted to ruin his life.

************************************************************************

Jessica: When I came out of Ultra Violet, I saw Antonio just -- just beating on R.J., Hitting him over and over and over again.

Viki: Iím very sorry you had to see that.

Jessica: I donít know what to do, Mom. I care about him so much. We've been getting close, and when I see him with his daughter, he's just so sweet and loving. He loves her so much.

Viki: But?

Jessica: His explosions -- they terrify me.

Viki: Has he ever done anything to you?

Jessica: No, no, never. Nothing. It's just when I saw him hitting R.J., it brought back all the memories of what he did to Mitch, and I -- I canít deal with that kind of violence.

Viki: You know, Jessie, I had a similar situation with Ben when I found out about his past.

Jessica: Well, how did you deal with it?

Viki: I believed in him and I believed in my own heart.

Jessica: So are you saying I should give Antonio another chance?

Viki: No. I think what you need to do first is find out the facts, find out why he was fighting with R.J., what prompted it, and certainly what caused him to overreact the way he did. Do that before you decide anything.

************************************************************************

R.J.: Keri, why would you hurt yourself and tell me Antonio did it?

Keri: So you'd go after him, make him hurt, too. But I didn't know it was going to go so far, R.J. I mean, he could've killed you and it's all because of me.

R.J.: No. No, no, no. It's because of Vega.

Keri: I just told you --

R.J.: How he drove you to it.

Keri: Iím so sorry, Dad.

R.J.: Well, donít be. Iím not because now we can really make him pay.

Keri: No. This has gone way too far.

R.J.: Oh, no. No, no, it hasn't, not by a long shot.

************************************************************************

Andrew: Jen, you almost married Al, you almost married Cristian. You married Rex, now you want to marry Joey. That's not exactly a great track record.

Jen: It's different with Joe.

Andrew: Why?

Jen: Because I love him.

Joey: We love each other. And we want to be married in the eyes of God. And it'd mean a lot to us if you would perform the ceremony.

Andrew: I think you should wait. But you're not going to do that, are you?

Joey: If you won't perform the ceremony, we'll find someone else.

Andrew: I can see that.

Jen: We're going to make this work.

Andrew: Once again, once again you put me in a very, very awkward position and Iím going to have to do something about it.

Joey: What?

Andrew: Not stand in the way of true love.

Joey: Thank you, Andrew.

Andrew: Congratulations.

Joey: Thank you.

Andrew: Congratulations.

Jen: Thanks.

************************************************************************

Walker: Oh, uh -- Iíll have to call you back. See you.

Dorian: Sorry to interrupt, but I just wanted to tell you that -- well, thank you for handing that diamond over so easily to that dreadful man. You saved my life.

Walker: Saved my life, too.

Dorian: OK. So, why do I have the feeling that there's something more to this?

Walker: Paranoid?

Dorian: Ah. It's just you strike me as somebody who doesn't give up so easily when you want something.

Walker: You noticed?

Dorian: Ah. Neither am I.

************************************************************************

Starr: What's taking River so long?

Blair: I -- you know, I donít know, sweetie. I mean, he has a lot to say to whoever he's talking to.

Starr: Well, you know what? It's cutting down on my roller blading time and I got to --

Blair: Starr! Starr, come back here! What roller blading?

Walker: Hi. You got a minute, or are you going to run off?

Blair: I -- Iím sorry about dinner the other night.

Walker: Then why donít we try again tonight?

Blair: As long as we donít talk about Todd.

Walker: Boy, it was that bad, huh?

Blair: I just donít want to constantly be reminded, that's all.

Walker: Iíll do my best.

Blair: OK.

River: I know, I know. I want to see you, too. Hey, listen, when can you sneak out of Mrs. Vega's? OK. All right. Iíll meet you there in an hour, all right? Cool.

Starr: Hey.

River: Hey.

Starr: What happened to you taking me roller blading down at the docks?

River: Something's come up. Iím really sorry.

Starr: Well, you know what? You promised.

River: Yeah. Iíll make it up to you. All right? I promise.

Blair: You know, Walker, maybe we should keep our business business, and --

Walker: Why?

Blair: Sure. I mean, it's just dinner. So, why not? I'd love to have dinner with you.

Kevin: So you wanted to see me?

Blair: So what's going on with the two of you?

Walker: Oh, it's this --

Blair: What?

Walker: Stupid charity softball game that we got to be involved with.

Blair: Softball?

Walker: It's the TV guys and the newspaper guys, and we got to go over our lineup or something.

Kevin: Right.

Walker: So let's go talk about that.

Kevin: OK.

Dorian: What are Walker and Kevin doing together?

Blair: Hmm. They say it's softball, but I think it's hardball.

Walker: I know you've had a P.I. on my tail. So let me save you time and money.

Kevin: What's this?

Walker: Everything you always wanted to know about Walker Laurence.

************************************************************************

Natalie: Oh, the Black Widow -- she is my idol. Jeanette Lee -- God, you're good.

Max: I saw the Black Widow once in Atlantic City. She hit a triple bank shot Minnesota Fats couldn't touch.

Natalie: Wow, you're pretty up on the pool thing. How come? You play?

Max: I did.

Natalie: So that's how you know Rack 'Em?

Max: Well, we used to play each other every now and then.

Natalie: So, what happened?

Max: He kept shooting, I hung up my cue.

Natalie: Why?

Max: It takes an awful lot of discipline, something Iím not really known for.

Natalie: Oh, whoa, whoa! Did you see that shot? The Black Widow is so amazing.

Max: How'd you like to play her?

Natalie: Get real, OK?

Max: No, Iím real because you're loaded with talent.

Natalie: Yeah. Not like her.

Max: What, you think she started out that good? Takes a lot of hard work to shoot a decent stick.

Natalie: You're serious.

Max: Yeah, Iím serious. You've got more potential than I have seen in a long time.

Natalie: Yeah, well, it's going to take a lot more than potential to live, so I think Iím going to stick with fixing hair and serving some drinks.

Max: Hmm. Well, not today you're not because there's nobody to serve, so you may as well go home.

Natalie: Little more draw, huh?

Max: Think about it.

************************************************************************

Joey: Mom?

Jess? Nobody's here. Looks like we're going to have to wait to break the news.

Jen: Actually, that's kind of good. It's not like your family loves me.

Joey: Hey. They love me. And they're going to like anything that makes me happy.

Jessica: Joey. Jen.

Joey: Ahem. Jess, we -- we have some news. We're getting married.

Jessica: Are you serious?

Joey: Totally.

Jessica: Didn't you just get divorced, like, two minutes ago?

Jen: Yeah, but it's not like Rex and I were even ever seriously really married.

Jessica: Um -- well, isn't -- isn't this going to compete a little bit with Natalie and Cristian's wedding?

Joey: No, no, no, they're not getting married till the fall. We're going to get married right away.

Jessica: Does Mom know?

Joey: No. You're the first to know, but we're going to tell her as soon as she gets here.

Jessica: Uh, well -- congratulations.

Jen: Thank you, Jessica.

Jessica: I hope you guys are really happy.

Joey: We will be. When two people belong together, nothing can keep them apart.

************************************************************************

Keri: Please stop worrying about me. Iím fine.

R.J.: No, you are not fine, and it's Vega's fault.

Keri: I told you he didn't do it. He didn't lay a hand on me.

R.J.: He still hurt you, and the scars he left are going to last a lot longer than that bruise on your face.

Keri: What about what I did to him?

R.J.: You loved him. That's why you came back to town -- because of that love. If he had loved you, he wouldn't have hopped into bed with every woman who came by.

Keri: He thought I was dead.

R.J.: No, he didn't. Not the first time, not when he slept with your mother.

Keri: I have to think about Jamie.

R.J.: Iím thinking about her, too. Look at my face. Oh -- just remember your own, then. Vega has no control or loyalty. Do you want a man like that around your daughter?

Keri: He loves her. He would never hurt her.

R.J.: He loves everyone for a time. He loved you, but he hurt you, and he'll do it again unless we stop him.

************************************************************************

Blair: Have you seen Starr and River?

Dorian: No, I thought they went roller blading a little while -- though why you gave them permission, Iíll never know.

Blair: I didn't. Starr said she was going to find out who River was talking to. Iím going to go find her.

Walker: It's all there -- every address I ever had, every school I went to, school pictures, every dentist I ever saw.

[Phone rings]

Kevin: Oh. Excuse me. Yeah, it's Buchanan.

Elyssa: I canít work for you anymore. Laurence is on to me.

Kevin: Yeah, I heard that. You know, you should check your sources for your story.

Elyssa: He's there?

Kevin: That's right.

Elyssa: I didn't tell him what I found out. He thinks I didn't get anything on him for you.

Kevin: Well, thanks for the update. Iíll get back to you. All right, bye.

Walker: She's hitting you up for more money, huh?

Kevin: What?

Walker: The P.I. That was her on the phone, wasn't it? Listen, tell her next time you see her she owes me $10,000. So what do you think?

Kevin: What do I think? Well, Iíll tell you what -- how much time did it take you to come up with all this stuff?

Walker: My whole life. It's the real deal.

Kevin: "The real deal." Well, we'll see.

************************************************************************

Dorian: It's about time you got back. That was just your father on the phone. He's on his way over here.

River: I canít talk to him.

Dorian: You are not going roller blading with Starr, so just get that out of your mind.

River: Look, I kind of --

Dorian: What, what? You've got other plans?

River: I just donít see why I need to talk to him right now, you know?

Dorian: Oh? How about he is going to allow you to keep living with me? Uh-huh.

River: Did he say that?

Dorian: With a bit of encouragement from me. Well, you donít want to let this opportunity go by, do you?

Blair: River, where is Starr?

River: I donít know. I thought she was with you.

Blair: Well, she's not.

Dorian: Oh, did you look in the ladies' room?

Blair: Yes, I looked.

Dorian: Hmm.

Blair: Hedy, it's Blair. Is Starr there with you?

Walker: Is Starr missing?

Dorian: She's probably just hiding somewhere. You know Starr -- anything to get attention.

Walker: Lay off, Dorian. She's not about that.

Dorian: And how would you know so much about Starr?

Walker: Was she upset about anything today?

Blair: No, she was thrilled because River here was going to take her roller blading. River?

River: Well, she might have been ticked off because I sort of -- I had to cancel on her.

Blair: What? You let Starr go roller blading alone?

River: No.

************************************************************************

Starr: No! Oh, no!

[Splash]

************************************************************************

Dorian: I think you seriously let her down. She kind of --

Blair: Dorian, Dorian, Dorian! Starr's backpack is not even in the coatroom.

River: It's got all her roller blading stuff in it.

Blair: What?

Dorian: Oh, that little -- she's gone down to the docks to roller blade by herself.

Walker: Iíll drive you. Maybe we can beat her there.

Blair: We donít even know how long she's been there!

Walker: She's a smart kid. She won't do anything stupid.

************************************************************************

Starr: Help! Help! Help! Somebody help me! Somebody help me, please! Please, somebody help me! Help! Help!

************************************************************************

River: Look, Iím going to go help them find her. It's probably my fault she --

Dorian: No, no, no, River, he can handle it, really. Oh, and here's your father.

Andrew: Hi. Iím so sorry Iím late. How are you, son?

Dorian: No, it's all right. Andrew.

Andrew: Dorian. Please. Please, help your grandmother sit down like a gentleman, would you?

Dorian: Uh, Andrew, Iíve asked him to call me Dorian. My preference.

Andrew: OK. All right, River, your mom and I talked, and we have found a very good school for you, one that specializes in learning disabilities.

Dorian: There is nothing really wrong with River.

Andrew: You're right, Dorian, there's nothing wrong with River like there's nothing wrong with a kid who needs glasses. But he needs glasses to see better, and River needs a school to learn better.

River: Dad, Iím not going to a boarding school. I told you that before.

Andrew: And you're not going to have to go to a boarding school. You're going to -- the school's right here in Llanview.

River: Well, then, why --

Andrew: Well, then, that means you can stay with your grandmother Dorian through the fall if it's all right with her.

Dorian: If it's all -- oh, it's wonderful! River!

Andrew: But -- but there are conditions.

River: What is that?

Andrew: This is a contract in writing. Now, you adhere to this contract --

River: Dad, this is ridiculous. Iím not going to --

Dorian: Yes. Donít you trust us?

Andrew: Donít make me answer that question, please. Follow the rules or go straight to boarding school.

************************************************************************

Man: She's here. Oh, donít worry, Iíll bring her to you. Well, she won't have any choice, now, will she?

Walker: Starr!

Blair: Starr!

Walker: Starr!

Blair: Starr Manning!

Starr: Help! Please help me!

Blair: Oh, my God, Walker, you donít think -- Starr!

Starr: Mommy!

Blair: Starr, wait a minute, honey! We're going to get some help! We'll be right there! Starr!

Starr: Mom, help!

Blair: Yes, this is an emergency. My daughter's fallen into the river. Please hurry! Please! Starr, wait!

Walker: Starr!

Starr: Walker, Walker! Over here, help! Walker!

Walker: Hang on. Hang on. I got you. I got you. Hold on, hold on. OK, here you go. Hold on to me. All right, you ready?

Starr: Yes. Ow! My foot is stuck! Ow!

Walker: Be careful.

************************************************************************

Max: What's your pleasure? You all right?

Viki: It's just seeing you behind the bar, Max. I still somehow expect to see Ben.

Max: Iíll never fill his shoes.

Viki: So, how's business, huh?

Max: Well, we're not exactly turning them away, but we just need word to spread and a draw.

Viki: Oh, you have something in mind?

Max: Oh, a certain little redhead you know and love.

Viki: Natalie?

Max: Have you ever seen her shoot pool?

Viki: No, I canít say I have. Why?

Max: You should.

Viki: Really?

Max: Uh-huh.

Viki: Where'd she learn that?

Max: Probably her mom. I -- I mean, her other -- well, Roxy, OK?

Viki: Well, good for her.

Viki: This -- this mom used to shoot a lot of games here. And I was awarded a pair of fuzzy dice because I won a karaoke contest.

Max: Hmm. Hang them on your rearview mirror?

Viki: Ben thought it would be a nice touch. First time we ever danced was here. First time he ever kissed me was right here.

[Music plays]

Viki: Ben. Ben.

Max: You all right?

Viki: Yeah. It's this place, you know? It's kind of special. It was magical for Ben and for

me. I really hope that other people can find the magic, too.

************************************************************************

Natalie: Donít mind me. Iím just staying here because Cristian's in New York.

Joey: Hey, Natalie. We have something to tell you.

Natalie: Crazy in love. Yeah, got that.

Joey: We're getting married.

Natalie: What about Rex?

Jen: He gave me the divorce.

Joey: How about "congratulations"?

Natalie: Sorry, but I think you're making the biggest mistake of your life, Joe, and I suggest that you get out while you still can.

Jen: You mean, like Cristian.

Natalie: Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Joey: Sorry.

Natalie: "Natalie -- every artist needs the right brushes. Hope this helps you make the right strokes. I love you. Cristian."

************************************************************************

[Knock on door]

Keri: Jessica.

Jessica: Keri, do you mind if I come in?

Keri: Actually, I was just on my way out. I have to pick up Jamie from the babysitter's.

Jessica: This will only take a minute. I wanted to apologize for the other morning when you came by Antonio's and I was there.

Keri: Donít tell me it wasn't what it looked like.

Jessica: It was exactly what it looked like.

Keri: Then what are you apologizing for? For lying about staying away from Antonio?

Jessica: Keri, I said that I'd think about it, and Iím sorry that you misunderstood.

Keri: You knew how I felt about him.

Jessica: He doesn't feel the same way about you.

Keri: Oh, but he does about you.

Jessica: Yes. And I hope that you won't punish him for that by keeping him from his daughter.

Keri: That's what you think Iím doing?

Jessica: Isn't it? I mean, you're hurt, and you want to hurt back. But, Keri, the only one that's going to get hurt in the end here is Jamie.

************************************************************************

Blair: Starr? What's taking so long?

Walker: You OK?

Starr: I donít know. Iím tired.

Blair: I know, honey. I have to go underneath and get your foot clear, OK?

Starr: No! Iím scared.

Walker: I know you are, but you're brave, too, honey. You're the great one. You can do this, OK?

Starr: I donít know.

Walker: Yes, you can. Yes, you can! You want to see your father again?

Starr: Yes!

Walker: OK, hold on. Hold on. Iíll be right back.

Blair: Oh, God, no! No! Starr! Walker, Iím over here.

Walker: Iíll hand her up. Can you reach her?

Blair: Come on. Yeah. Come on! Come on! I got her. I got her.

Walker: You got her?

Blair: I got her, I got her, I got her. I got her. Can you lift? I got her, I got her, I got her. OK. Oh! Starr, baby. It's all right, baby. I got her. It's all right. Oh, my God, Walker, she's not breathing!

Walker: Call 911.

Blair: I did already. I did already!

Walker: Do it again!

Blair: Yes. Yes, hi, it's an emergency! I called earlier. My little girl fell in the river, and she's not breathing. What do we do?

Walker: I got a pulse.

Blair: Where's the ambulance?

Walker: Come on, kid. Work with me here. Breathe. Come on, Starr. There you go! Come on, breathe!

[Starr coughs]

Walker: Breathe, Shorty! Breathe! That's it! That's it, take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. There you go.

************************************************************************

Max: Oh, listen, things haven't exactly picked up, so if you're here to hustle tips --

Natalie: No tips.

Max: Is that what I think it is?

Natalie: Yep, Cristian got it for me. Check it out.

Max: Oh. That's a nice piece of equipment.

Natalie: Yeah. Good enough to take on the Black Widow?

Max: You up for the challenge?

Natalie: If you're up for teaching me.

************************************************************************

Viki: You're getting married?

Kevin: When?

Joey: Tomorrow.

Viki: Tomorrow?

Joey: Look, I know Iím blindsiding you with this, Mom. But, please, wish us the best.

Viki: Oh, sweetheart, I mean -- I mean, that's all Iíve ever wanted for you.

Joey: Well, that's what Iím getting.

Viki: It seems so sudden.

Joey: Yeah. Yeah, that's what Andrew said, too, so he thought it'd be best if we had the wedding here instead of at St. James. Just family. And I hope you can make it, Kevin.

Kevin: Let's you and me have a man-to-man, Joey.

Joey: It's all right.

Jen: I know you donít approve.

Viki: I guess I donít understand what the hurry is. I donít know why you and Joey donít wait. You know, you've been through so much this year. We all have.

Jen: And Joe is the one person who got me through all that. He's given me so much, and I just -- I want to give him a little bit back.

Joey: Now, you're not going to start in on me, too, are you?

Kevin: Oh, no. I just wanted to congratulate you.

Joey: Really?

Kevin: Well, sure. Looks like you're going to have it all -- great calling, beautiful wife. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if you worked your way up to being bishop of Pennsylvania.

Joey: Yeah, yeah, and that'll help you with your run for the White House.

Kevin: Iím just saying there's not anything you canít do when you've got the right woman behind you.

Joey: Like Kelly?

Kevin: Exactly like Kelly.

Joey: You know, that's the only thing that got me through losing her -- how much you two love each other.

Kevin: And we did.

Joey: Did? What about now?

Kevin: Well, you still think we'd be married if we didn't love each other, Joe?

************************************************************************

Keri: I love my daughter, and I would never hurt her.

Jessica: Then how can you cheat her out of knowing her father? Think about how different your life would've been and how glad you are now to have R.J.

Keri: Yes, I am glad.

Jessica: If you love your daughter, you won't do this to her.

Keri: It's because I love her that I canít.

Jessica: That doesn't make any sense.

Keri: Antonio is a violent man. You've seen it yourself.

Jessica: He'd never hurt his baby.

Keri: You think so?

Jessica: He'd never hurt anybody he loved. You know that.

Keri: No, I donít think I know that.

Jessica: How can you say that?

Keri: Iíve seen Antonio's temper, and Iím not just talking about recently.

Jessica: He's never taken it out on you.

Keri: Oh no?

************************************************************************

Dorian: All right, what's in the agreement? River, please.

River: "I, River Carpenter, agree to --"

Andrew: Son, try this.

River: "I, River carpenter, agree to the following terms --"

Dorian: Excuse me, honey. Iím going to interrupt here. Why is he using the pen?

Andrew: Because the pen is one of the techniques he's learned to help him with his reading.

River: Yeah. It made me look like an idiot in school.

Andrew: Well, not at this school. At this school, the kids move at their own pace. Everybody does what works for them.

River: How about nothing?

Andrew: How about you donít stay at your grandmother's house?

Dorian: Oh, all right. May I interject? I promise you, I will do everything I can to help. Come on, River, use the pen and sign the agreement.

Andrew: Thank you. Come on. Iíll give you a ride home and we'll go over the reading list.

Dorian: Yes, and Iíll be home soon.

Man: What's wrong, mon cheri?

Dorian: Fancy meeting you here.

Man: Hey, smile and make it look like we're together. Otherwise, Iíll pull the trigger.

Dorian: You know, this is getting really tiring.

************************************************************************

Starr: Mom, Iím so sorry. I will never go skating alone ever again.

Blair: Baby, baby, shh. No, stop. Stop. Iím just so glad you're all right.

Starr: Because of Walker.

Blair: Thank you. Thank you.

Walker: Ah -- ah, my -- I think my -- my shoul--

Blair: Walker? Oh -- Walker? Walker!

Starr: Mom, we got to save him! He's the only one who knows where Dad is!

Blair: What?

************************************************************************

Antonio: She canít hurt us.

Jessica: But what about you? Are you going to hurt her anymore?

Jen: Joe and I are getting married tomorrow.

Blair: You said that Walker was the only one who knew where Daddy was. What do you mean? Has Walker seen Daddy?

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Antonio: She canít hurt us.

Jessica: But what about you? Are you going to hurt her anymore?

Jen: Joe and I are getting married tomorrow.

Blair: You said that Walker was the only one who knew where Daddy was. What do you mean? Has Walker seen Daddy?
