Jessica: What are you doing here?

Clint: What do you mean, what am I doing here? Your sister called me because she was worried about you.

Walker: My first name is Walker. My last name is Laurence. I'm Mitchís brother. Jessica was no victim. She was part of it.

Mitch: Well, we'll have to teach that little girl a lesson about loyalty.

Al: Storm's coming, boys and girls. Electrical storm. But don't be scared. Thatís just nature's way of blowing off a little steam.

[Music plays]

Asa: My son is here from London. You make sure he feels real welcome. Cristian, how many cigars you bring?

Cristian: Well, you told me to bring three boxes of your best, Sir.

Asa: Ah, hell, that's not going to be enough. Go back and get two more.

Cristian: Mr. Buchanan, not that many people smoke cigars.

Asa: When I throw a party, Cristian, everybody smokes cigars. Now, you get back to the house and get two more. Tonight is going to be perfect. Oh, who the hell ordered these tablecloths, huh? They look like they came out of a prison laundry. Get them out of my sight!

Natalie: Hey. How long has that been going on?

Cristian: Too long. How did it go at home?

Natalie: I don't know. I left them so they could be alone.

Cristian: You know, that was a really great thing you did -- getting your dad to come back home so he can see Jessica.

Natalie: You know, he's really terrific. He just looks straight into your eyes when he's talking to you, and he tells you exactly what he thinks, you know? And he has this way of just -- of making you feel good about things, you know? I just -- I hope that he can help out Jessica.

Clint: You know, Jessie, I know that you've been to hell and back, but Mitch Laurence is gone. Heís dead. Now, don't you think it's about time to tell his ghost to take a hike, too?

Jessica: I will. It's just --

Clint: What he did to your mother all those years back and everybody else this -- well, this time around, he didn't deserve to pass away nice and easy in his sleep. He didn't deserve an easy death.

Mitch: Jessica -- Jessica -- Jessica, give me your hand.

[Mitch screams]

Clint: Honey, I'm sorry to be spouting off like this. I know that it's going to be a lot more complicated than that for you.

Jessica: It's just I'm feeling all these different feelings, you know, and -- I know he was an awful man, and -- it's just he just wanted me to be happy, you know, and he wanted to love me and - I mean, he was my father.

Clint: Biologically, and that's it. Youíre my little girl, Jessie. Youíre my little girl. You always have been, and you always will be. You hear me?

Viki: Clint!

Joey: Hey, Dad!

Clint: "Hey, Dad"? Don't give me that "hey, Dad." Get over here and give me a big cowboy hug! Ah, thatís it. Well, Viki, what do you think? This make a pretty good picture, or what?

Viki: Absolutely perfect.

[Music plays]

Al: Storms are weird. Sort of like life. A lot of strange static going around town lately. Have you noticed?

Dorian: I certainly have.

Blair: You know, don't worry about Mitch having a brother.

Dorian: Why would he show up now?

Blair: I don't know, but it doesn't matter. Mitch is dead. The police are going to close the file on him.

Dorian: I don't trust this Walker. Uh-uh. No, he is up to something. Something strange.

Walker: The Sister said it would be all right if we had a little visit. Think you can spare me some time?

Lindsay: I have lots of time.

Walker: I'm hoping I can ask you a few questions about my brother. I believe you knew him.

Lindsay: Was he an artist?

Walker: No. He was Mitch Laurence.

Lindsay: He's dead. He was evil, and he deserved the punishment he got.

Walker: I wonder who punished him. God, you think? The devil? Or someone a little closer to home?

Mitch: Jessica -- Jessica --

Mitch: No, Jessica, not you, too. I'm your father.

Jessica: Burn in hell.

Mitch: Walker?

Mitch: I can see well enough. Definitely well enough. I can face them all now and punish them one by one.

Mitch: I'll save Jessica for last.

Walker: I have to tell you, I don't believe my brother would take his own life.

Lindsay: He was a terrible man. He did things -- evil things.

Walker: I know. And a lot of people hated him, wished him dead. Let me ask you, do you think someone made Mitch fall in that river?

Walker: I must tell you, I got the impression when I spoke with his widow, Dorian, that there's a lot more going on than people are willing to say.

Lindsay: That's not true. Are you saying that I had something to do with Mitch's death?

Walker: No. No, of course not. I'm just trying to figure out how such a horrible thing could happen.

Lindsay: Is Dorian trying to implicate me?

Walker: No, no. No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. Just looking for answers.

Lindsay: Well, I don't know anything.

Walker: Okay. Would it be okay if I came and see you again?

Walker: But for now, let's not tell anyone we've talked, okay?

Lindsay: Sometimes I feel so helpless in here.

Walker: Well, then you shouldn't have to be here. Maybe that's something I can do for you -- help you find your way home, start your life again the way it should be. Will you trust me to do that?

Lindsay: Yeah.

Walker: Good.

Natalie: Hey, come on in.

Antonio: Thank you. Cris -- Cris is not here?

Natalie: No, actually, everybody's already over at the country club. I just came here to get my dress and everything. Howís your mom? Is she --

Antonio: Great, great. Hopefully she'll be released tomorrow.

Natalie: That's great.

Antonio: What about you? I mean, I know it can be rough sometimes after a hostage situation.

Natalie: Hey, we all walked out alive. That's all that counts. Just a few more nightmares to add to the collection.

Antonio: What about -- what about Jessica? Itís a tough time.

Natalie: What do you mean?

Antonio: Well, her father dying and everything. How's she handling it?

Natalie: Fine. You know, I -- I'm running late. I got to go change. So I'll see you.

Antonio: Oh, yeah, okay. Have fun at the party.

Natalie: Thanks.

Asa: Well, hell. Come here, son! Oh, it's been so long, I'm surprised I even recognize you.

Clint: Good to see you, Pa.

Asa: Oh, good to see me? Hey, what do you think of your big brother here, huh?

Bo: Is he here? Excuse me. About time you showed your face around here.

Asa: Come on.

Bo: Well, let's set fire to a couple of these, huh?

Viki: Cristian, hi.

Cristian: Hi.

Viki: Do you know where Natalie is?

Cristian: She went back home to change.

Viki: Oh, okay.

Jessica: Joey, is everything okay?

Joey: Yeah. Sure.

Jessica: Just you seemed a little bit edgy at the house, and you still are, kind of.

Joey: I'm just having a little trouble with someone I've been counseling. No big deal.

Jessica: Come on, Joey. Tell me what's going --

Joey: Hey! Youíve got your secrets, and don't tell me you donít. Just give me the same space I give you, all right?

Blair: Dorian, I don't think this was such a good idea coming here. People are looking at us.

Dorian: Oh. Yes. If Walker contacted Jessica, we have to find out what she told him.

Blair: I don't understand why you're so obsessed with this man. I mean, it's no big deal. Itís not like he's any threat to us.

Walker: May I?

Walker: Hello.

Dorian: Hello.

Walker: I'm Walker Laurence. You know, Ms. Cramer, you are even more beautiful than people said you were. Chateau Margeaux 1995, nice choice.

Dorian: Oh, please, have some. How did you get in here? You're supposed to be a member.

Walker: Or look like one. So, I've been going around town. It seems people have a very bad opinion of my brother.

Blair: He was a rapist, a murderer, and a thief.

Walker: He's my brother. You can understand why that's hard for me to believe.

Dorian: Excuse me, please. I -- thank you -- I'm going to give you two a few minutes to chat.

Walker: I've heard all the things that my brother supposedly did -- well, probably not all of them, but enough.

Blair: You've heard them, I lived them. If you've come here to find someone to defend your brother, you may as well leave.

Walker: That's not why I came.

Blair: Why are you here, Walker?

Walker: I want to find out what happened to Mitch. And if what everyone says is true, I want to make amends.

Blair: Amends?

Walker: It was very nice meeting you, Blair. I'm looking forward to the next occasion.

Clint: No, Londonís a good place to live, but I miss my family.

Bo: Well, we miss you.

Clint: Well, just how serious is this thing between you and Gabrielle Medina?

Bo: Serious.

Asa: I've never had much good to say about her, Clint, but she seems to make him happy.

Bo: Yes, she does. She makes me very happy. Now with Mitch Laurence out of the way, I think we'll probably have a little free time that we can actually spend with one another.

Clint: It's a good thing that bastard's dead, or I'd chuck him in the river myself.

Asa: Now, that's the way a true Buchanan should think, not this due process bull. Why don't you move back here, Clint, and live in Llanview again. Jessica needs you. I need you, too.

Bo: And you do have another daughter. I think Natalie would love to know what it's like to have her dad around.

Viki: How many cigars?

Cristian: Five boxes, 125 cigars. The guy's driving me nuts.

Viki: Oh, Cristian, I'm so sorry. Maybe you should just try to ignore him.

Cristian: Yeah. How do you ignore someone that's always yelling at you?

Viki: I don't know. Natalie. You look beautiful, Darling.

Natalie: Thank you.

Cristian: Yeah, cool. Really cool.

Natalie: Thanks.

Viki: Cristian, maybe you should go and change.

Natalie: Yeah, the dinner's probably going to start pretty soon.

Cristian: Well, Mr. Buchanan hasn't said that I can leave yet. Plus, you know, I'm working. I'm not part of the family Ė

Asa: Cristian. I don't pay you to stand around yakking with the women. When I call you, you come. Now, I've been looking all over the damn place for you. Go in the kitchen; tell the cooks I've changed my mind. Weíre going to have steaks tonight.

Cristian: What about the barbecue that's already been cooked?

Asa: What about it? Pack it up, put in your car, drive it to some homeless shelter. But get in the kitchen and have those cooks rustle up some T-bone steaks, pronto.

Viki: Now, Clint tells me that you're the one who called him and got him to come here and see Jessie.

Natalie: Well, I just -- I felt like Jessica could really use him right now.

Viki: That was a really smart and a wonderful thing for you to do. Thank you, Darling. I'm very proud of you for that. Now, how was it for you, meeting Clint, your father, for the first time?

Natalie: I was terrified. But he was so warm, and he really made me feel like I've been a part of this family my whole life.

Viki: Well, honey, I hope you'll always feel that way.

Natalie: Thank you.

Cristian: I'm a driver, Mr. Buchanan, not an errand boy or a whipping boy. I quit.

Asa: You don't quit, I fired you!

Antonio: Jessica. Hi.

Jessica: Hi. Everything okay?

antonio: This -- this is your jacket, right?

Jessica: Yeah, it is. Why?

Antonio: Well, there's a button missing right here.

Jessica: Oh, yeah, it must have fallen off.

Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, it did. I found it.

Jessica: Where?

Antonio: The Pyramid Theater, the night Mitch Laurence disappeared.

[Knock on door]

Addie: Lindsay? Can I stay with you? The Sisters say thunder and lightning are from God, but I get so scared.

Lindsay: Aw --

Addie: Please? I get so scared. Please let me stay with you.

Lindsay: Oh, yes, of course you can use my bed. Itís not bad in here. You can hardly hear it. And I was going to stay up and read anyway. And I'll come get you when that storm is over, okay? Come here, you. Come here.

Addie: Thank you. You're so nice. I'm so sorry you killed your husband when you were having a bad day.

Lindsay: Thank you. Come on. Come on, you get in that bed now, okay? Come on. Come on. You in? Okay.

Sister Mary: Be sure to thank the Lord for his kindness. Yes, all the patients are in bed now. Letís say good night.

Jessica: Antonio, I'm not really sure what you're saying. I mean, if you found the button at the theater, then --

Antonio: I did. Itís a dead match, Jessica. It's a dead match. If I were to go to the evidence room right now and get it, it would fit right here.

Jessica: So, what do you want me to say? Do you want me to say that I -- I was there that night? That I saw him fall? Or that I murdered him? Come on, Antonio, what do you want to hear? What would tie it up for you, nice and neat?

Clint: Sweetheart, you okay? Whatís going on?

Antonio: Just a little misunderstanding. Here you go. My advice -- this sort of thing -- I wouldn't keep it around. Nice seeing you, Mr. Buchanan.

Clint: Well, it's good seeing you, Antonio. Oh, how's your mom? I hear she's in the hospital.

Antonio: She's good. She's good. Sheís coming out tomorrow.

Clint: Oh, that's great. Give her my best regards, will you?

Antonio: I will. Excuse me.

Clint: Mm-hmm.

Antonio: Oh, and Jessica? I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that the Mitch Laurence case is now officially closed.

Al: Storms can be very powerful. But, hey, that just helps us remember we're all human.

[Music plays]

[Music plays]

Cristian: I told you to stay. You were having dinner with your family.

Natalie: Not if you're not there, I'm not.

Cristian: Yeah, well, I'm sorry, okay? I couldn't take it anymore. No wonder everybody quits on him. I mean, how can you treat people like that?

Natalie: Baby, it doesn't matter, okay? I love you. So what, you quit your job. You'll get another one.

Cristian: Well, your family probably thinks that I'm a nut job now.

Natalie: No. Come on. They know how he is. I mean, Asa's impossible, all right? Come on, just go get dressed, we'll go back, and we'll all laugh at it together.

Cristian: Yeah.

Natalie: Okay, in a few more days, maybe.

Cristian: Look, Natalie, I just threw my uniform at your grandfather. He's going to invite me to dinner? I don't think so.

Natalie: Well, he will if I tell him to.

Cristian: Yeah, well, donít. I don't want you to. Itís weird, huh, how the roles are reversed? Now I'm the one that doesn't fit in.

Natalie: Hey. So why don't we just not fit in together?

Clint: Sweetheart, you sure you're okay?

Jessica: I'm fine. Especially now that you're here. I just wish you weren't going so soon.

Clint: So do I, honey. So do I.

Jessica: I think that your son is getting jealous that I'm hogging all the face time here.

Clint: Oh, he is, is he?

Jessica: I'm going to leave you guys alone for a little father-son time. But if it starts to rain, come inside, okay?

Joey: He can still put you over his knee.

Jessica: Bye, Dad.

Clint: Bye. Okay, son. Whatís going on with you? And don't tell me nothing's wrong. Just come on out with it.

Joey: I don't know. I'm just -- I think maybe I made a mistake becoming a minister.

Clint: Oh, really? I was so happy for you when you did. Whatís the problem?

Joey: I just -- I didn't think it would be so hard keeping my private life separate from my professional life.

Clint: Well, nobody said it was going to be easy.

Joey: I know. But I don't think I'm going to make it.

Clint: Well, it's like Pa says -- what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Itís the struggle that builds you up.

Joey: Or tears you down?

Clint: Uh-oh.

Joey: I guess we better get inside.

Clint: Either that or hear about it from your sister for the next six months.

Dorian: Find out anything from him? Oh! Why, Jessica. Hello, Dear.

Jessica: Hello, Dorian.

Dorian: I understand there's a party for your family here tonight.

Jessica: Yes, that's right.

Dorian: Will you say hello to Clint for me?

Blair: Oh, sit down, Cut the act. Nobody's looking. Come on.

Dorian: All right. So, have you met Walker Laurence?

Jessica: Yes.

Dorian: And?

Jessica: And I didn't know what to say. He made me very nervous.

Dorian: So? Donít you see? He is systematically getting in touch with each and every one of us. Maybe he knows that we were all there the night that Mitch died.

Blair: That would mean he would have had to have been at the theater, Dorian.

Jessica: Yeah, I agree with Blair. I think that you're being a little bit paranoid.

Dorian: Oh, pardon me. If I am being slightly paranoid, maybe it's because I have good reason.

Blair: He hasn't been systematically meeting all of us. I met him for the first time here tonight at the country club, come on.

Jessica: And Antonio just told me that Mitch's case is officially closed, so --

Blair: There you go. Hey, if the police are ready to close the case, Dorian, then why not Walker?

Dorian: Maybe he's out for revenge. And if he is, we better all of us be prepared.

Lindsay: Addie? Addie? Addie, wake up. Wake up. The storm is not over, but it's -- it's not as bad as it was, and I need my bed back. Addie? Come on, Addie, I need my bed back. Addie? Come on. Come on, you have to go back to your bed now. Come on, Addie. Addie -- Addie!

[Lindsay screams]

Lindsay: It wasn't me!

Asa: Welcome home, Clint. And we're all damn glad to see you. Weíve missed you, and I think we all love you.

Joey: Hear, hear.

Asa: But that doesn't mean I forgive you for not sticking around much longer.

Bo: Oh, here we go.

Asa: Heck, you didn't even give me time to complain about how long you were gone.

Clint: Pa, I'll come home more often, I promise. You got my word on it.

Asa: I hope so. You know why we're all sitting around here tonight, getting stronger all the time? Because we're family. Nobody puts the Buchanans down because we stick together. To the family. To my son Clint.

Jessica: What happened with Cristian?

Natalie: Don't ask.

Clint: Oh, Viki --

Viki: Yeah?

Clint: You know, I was -- I was wanting to stop in at the hospital and see Ben before I left town.

Viki: That is so nice of you. Thank you.

Clint: Well, I keep hanging on to the hope that one day he's going to open his eyes and look around and say "Howdy."

Viki: Yeah, we all are, Clint. Itís all we have -- hope.

Clint: I know that things have been really rough for you lately. I mean, you and the girls. How you holding up?

Viki: Well, I'll tell you one thing -- they are amazingly resilient.

Clint: I -- I said, how are you holding up? You.

Viki: I'm fine.

Clint: Meeting your father after all these years must have been kind of like a kick in the stomach.

Viki: Yeah, it was. You know the worst part of it? That he died before I had a chance to confront him and force him to deal with what he had done to me. Not that I didn't get a few things off my chest.

Clint: You would have been justified spitting in his face.

Viki: Yeah, well, I didn't do that. But I've decided I have to close the books on him, you know? I just have to focus on the girls and on Joey and make sure they have a good future.

Clint: We did okay there, didn't we?

Viki: We did great. Theyíre fabulous kids. They really are. The only thing that would make me happier now is if Kevin were here. Then we'd all be together.

Antonio: Viki. Clint.

Viki: Antonio, hi.

Antonio: Excuse me.

Viki: Sure.

Antonio: Commissioner?

Bo: Hmm?

Antonio: Sorry to disturb you, but I need to speak with you.

Bo: I'm sorry, folks. I have a little problem I have to deal with. Thanks for dinner, Pa. anyway, I'll be seeing you, Clint.

Viki: Take care.

Sister Mary: How could this happen?

Bo: She may not make it.

Sister Mary: Addie came to sleep in here because of the storm.

Nun: Lindsay said she came back from the reading room and found her. She screamed, and we came running.

Bo: Was Lindsay holding the pillow?

Lindsay: No. No, no, it's not what you think. I just took the pillow off of her face. I swear. I would never -- I would never kill Addie. I --

Bo: Have Harris take Lindsay into custody.

Lindsay: No, please! I didn't do it! I didn't do it! Doesn't anybody believe me? I didn't do it!

Al: When a storm like this blows through, you soon realize we are not in control. But it does help you to focus on the important things -- love, family, and your faith. But be careful. Sometimes when you're desperate, when you reach out, the devil grabs hold of your hand, and sometimes you don't even know he's got you.

Natalie: Oh, my God. So Mitch has a brother? Why didn't you tell me this?

Jessica: I just found out myself. He just tried to contact me after Mitch -- died.

Natalie: Okay, well, what's his name?

Jessica: Walker. He contacted Blair and Dorian, as well.

Natalie: So that's why you were over there talking to them?

Jessica: Dorian -- I don't know. She thinks that we should stick together. She seems really concerned.

Viki: Oh, there you are.

Natalie: Hi, Mom.

Viki: Look at the two of you. You look like you're hatching some sort of conspiracy. Whatís going on? Girls? What is going on? Huh?

Jessica: Nothing, Mom. Just girl talk.

Natalie: Sister stuff. No big deal. Nice party in there, huh?

Jessica: Yeah. You know what? We should go and tell Grandpa thank you.

Natalie: Yeah. Okay, Jess, listen to me. You have got to stay away from Blair and Dorian, okay?

Jessica: You know what, Natalie? They told me that --

Natalie: I know, I know -- you got to stay together? Listen to me. You know as well as I do, they will cut you loose in a heartbeat. Come on.

Blair: You know, I would actually feel more comfortable -- and I think you probably would, too -- if we stayed over at your house tonight. You know, until this will is settled, I mean, you can't really -- what? What?

Dorian: I locked those doors before we left.

Blair: Okay, Dorian, someone has broken in. Now I know I would feel more comfortable. Come on. Letís go.

[Phone rings]

Blair: All right, don't answer it. Don't answer it, Dorian.

Dorian: Blair, I have to. Come on. Hello? Yes. Yes. No, of course -- I'll -- I'll be right over.

Blair: What is it? Is something wrong?

Dorian: I -- it's Addie.

Blair: Mama? Is she all right? Is she sick?

Dorian: Blair, somebody has tried to kill her.

Antonio: Commissioner!

Bo: Yeah?

Antonio: Commissioner, she's gone!

Bo: What?

Antonio: Lindsay -- she's gone. Harris was putting her in the car, and she took off running into the woods. She's disappeared.

Bo: Get a search party out there.

Walker: Mitch? Mitch! What were you doing out in the rain? Did you go somewhere?

Mitch: It's begun. Theyíre all going to be punished.

Walker: What are you talking about?

Mitch: Well, death paid a visit to St. Ann's tonight, brother.

Walker: Dear God. Who? Lindsay Rappaport?

Mitch: You know, I've always felt that smothering was too quick. You know, they kick a little bit, flail around, and then it's all over.

Walker: Oh, my God, Mitch --

Mitch: She should have been made to suffer more.

Walker: I didn't know killing was what you meant by restitution.

Mitch: Relax, little brother. I took care of a problem, that's all. One of several I'll be handling now that I've got my sight back.

Walker: No, you listen to me. I told you I would handle it.

Mitch: Hey! Don't tell me what to do! I don't care who you are. I'm in control of my life now.

Walker: No. You're sick. I've got to get you --

Mitch: Shut up!

Walker: I'm not going to get let you -- Mitch? No, wait! Mitch!

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Joey: She told Andrew that we slept together.

Jen: Calm down? Then tell me this isn't true.

Dorian: We should have been told that Lindsay was dangerous.

Clint: I can't tell you how happy your mother and I are that you're right where you belong.
