Bo: Police.

Dorian: I brought it back and I put it in there for Mitch to find. And that way if anyone is cursed, it's going to be him.

Antonio: She's been booked, Commissioner.

Jen: I know my rights. I don't have to talk to you.

Nora: I'm not here from the D.A.'s office.

Jen: Then leave me alone.

Bo: Jen, I think you better go cool off.

Nora: You know what? Jen and I are going to talk.

Jessica: No lectures, all right?

Joey: Hey, you know what? You made up your mind. Besides, you already know how I feel.

Jessica: Mitch is not going to hurt me, okay? He's blind, Joey.

Joey: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't come to fight or to tell you what to do.

Jessica: Let's just not talk about it, okay?

Joey: Deal.

Jessica: Okay.

Joey: If you'll come to Capricorn with me.

Jessica: What for?

Joey: Flash and her band have their first gig tonight.

Flash: You can do it, you can do it, you can do it, you can do it. Tonight, everything changes.

Max: You're still sold on these kids?

R.J.: Well, you know, I prefer jazz, but --

Max: They got something going for them?

R.J.: Well, the singer -- I mean, there's something about the singer.

Max: Hmm.

R.J.: You know, we'll let the audience decide. Here. Well, good evening. Looks like you're already enjoying your newfound freedom.

Cole: Got a plan and a crew. Just looking for an investor.

R.J.: Well, now, what kind of return can I expect?

Cole: Put it this way -- I'm going after the richest guy in town. Asa Buchanan.

Al: Oh --

Marcie: Al, no. Rest.

Al: Oh -- oh, that son of a -- did he take my wallet?

Marcie: Just calm down, okay?

Al: I've got to get out of here.

Marcie: You want to go? Fine, we'll go to the hospital. Maybe they can get you into rehab.

Al: Forget about it, Marcie. It's not happening.

Marcie: No, then you're staying here until the drugs are out of your system. Don't make me use this.

Al: Where is my jacket?

Marcie: I did some research on the Internet. You know, all you can do is drink a lot of water and wait it out. You know, I won't lie to you, Al; this is not going to be easy.

Al: Get out of my way!

Al: Damn it! This is crazy! You can't keep me here.

Marcie: Yes, I can.

Mitch: Hello, Dorian. Your intoxicating fragrance gave you away. What are you doing down here? Have you been spying on me?

Dorian: Well, actually, I followed your bloodstains from the other day when you cut yourself, and amazingly, they led me to this strange panel door underneath the staircase.

Mitch: And here you are.

Dorian: Yes. I followed the passageway because I thought, well, this is going to lead me to the foundation problem that you've been talking about, but there really is no foundation problem, is there?

Mitch: Dorian --

Dorian: Instead, I find that you have discovered yet another one of Victor's secret rooms, and you've dug up this strange-looking box. So why don't you tell me what's going on?

Dorian: What have you done? Discovered buried treasure under Llanfair?

Mitch: I have reason to believe that inside this box is an extremely rare and extremely valuable gem. Have you heard of the Badhra diamond?

Dorian: It does sound vaguely familiar, yes.

Mitch: Its beauty is legendary. It's reported to have incredible powers, powers that men have killed for. Victor Lord first came across it, found out about it while doing business as a young man in India.

Dorian: Oh, yes. Now I do recollect Victor talking about it. But wasn't there some sort of curse attached to it?

Mitch: How much more cursed could I possibly be? Supposedly, he had it stolen from a rival who mysteriously died.

Dorian: And you think that this diamond is somewhere here?

Mitch: Somewhere in this box --

Dorian: Mm-hmm.

Mitch: According to all of Victor's papers and plans.

Dorian: Well, he certainly went through a lot of trouble to conceal it.

Mitch: Yes. Well, he was obsessed with it. Fanatically so. He believed in all the stories. He believed that the Badhra had saved and made him, given him all his power and all his success. And now it's mine.

Dorian: I believe you mean "ours."

Mitch: Well, of course, Darling. Pardon me. "Ours," yes.

Dorian: And you believe in the incredible powers of this diamond?

Mitch: Well, let's just say that I'm curious. Either way, we may never find out. I haven't been able to open the damn box now that I'm blind.

Dorian: Oh. I'm your wife. Let me be your eyes. I'll open the box for you.

Nora: Breaking and entering? Attempted burglary? The judge isn't about to be inclined to go easy on you.

Jen: That is my problem.

Nora: Yes, it is, Jen. Okay, I'm not going to push. Don't answer any questions unless you have your attorney present.

Jen: The only attorney I want is my father.

Officer: Hey, easy.

Nora: It's okay. It's okay.

Bo: Jen, you'll be staying with us until you're arraigned in the morning.

Jen: What, you mean in jail?

Bo: Jen, look, I know that it's a rough time right now, but it's not going to solve anything if you go around ripping off hotel guests.

Antonio: I'm going to finish the paperwork, Commissioner.

Bo: All right. Keep her company in the interrogation room, okay? Just give me a minute.

Nora: Mm-hmm.

Jessica: You know, I don't know. Mitch just got back from the hospital, and --

Joey: Let Dorian take care of him. Hey, she married him for his money. Let her earn some of it. Come on. You could use the distraction.

[Phone rings]

Joey: Hello?

Nora: Joey, it's Nora.

Joey: Hey. What's going on?

Nora: Aren't you working with Jen Rappaport, supervising her community service?

Joey: Trying.

Nora: Well, I thought you should know the police caught Jen breaking and entering in a hotel room at the palace.

Joey: What?

Nora: She's down here at the station in custody.

Joey: I'm on my way. I got to go. Somebody that I've been working with down at the center. I got to meet with them.

Jessica: Joey, did you drop this?

Joey: What?

Jessica: It's a card from Capricorn, and there's a phone number on the back with no name.

Joey: Nope, not mine. You will come with me to the Capricorn, right?

Jessica: I'll try. Thanks for the invite.

Joey: Be careful.

R.J.: Consider yourself in business.

Cole: My man. You're going to give me those alarm codes, right?

R.J.: Well, I said I would, and I will. Now, listen, after I get my cut, I'm done. Leave me out of the loop, all right? And, look, if you screw up on this one, you're on your own.

Man: We got to do sound check.

Riley: Where the hell is Flash?

[Flash coughs]

Joey: What the hell were you thinking? No, you know what? You weren't thinking. Because if you were, you wouldn't be facing jail time.

Jen: Who asked you?

Joey: Okay. You've been through more than any person should ever have to. You miss your dad, and now your mom.

Jen: Well, at least I get to visit her in the loony bin. I guess I should be grateful for that, right?

Joey: Nobody's asking you to be grateful. But you can't use this as an excuse to self-destruct. The only way out of pain is to face it.

Jen: What should I do? Should I be like you? Should I pray? Or should I go around trying to save everybody just so I can stop thinking about the fact that I'm really lonely?

Bo: It's time, Jen.

Bo: Maybe a night in jail is what she needs to shake her out of this.

Joey: I should have seen it coming.

Nora: Jen Rappaport committing robbery? Yeah, well, that's something we should've all seen coming.

Dorian: So you're sure that it's a matter of following all these various steps in the sequence? That would leave this one.

Dorian: Oh! Oh. It's wonderful. Oh, dear.

Mitch: What? What is it?

Dorian: Oh, dear. I -- I don't know how to tell you this, but --

Mitch: What? I heard it open! What is it?

Dorian: It's -- it's open. It really is open, but as far as I can tell, it's nothing but sand. Sand.

Mitch: Get out of my way. It's got to be in here. Come on, where is the damn -- oh. Oh. Is it?

Dorian: It's the Badhra diamond, and it's magnificent.

Al: Listen, Marcie, I do not need your little intervention here, okay?

Marcie: Well, I don't agree with you!

Al: I can take care of myself.

Marcie: Oh, is that what you were doing when I found you left for dead in Angel Square?

[Phone rings]

Al: That's my phone. Could I at least have my phone, please?

Al: Thank you. Oh, great. It's my dad.

Marcie: Tell him you're going out of town. Well, then tell him the truth!

Marcie: I guess we don't have to worry about any more phone calls. It's broken. But that's okay. You're probably going to break a whole bunch of more stuff before this is over. You know what? I'd better call your dad.

Al: No! No. Do not call anyone about me. I swear, if you do --

Marcie: What, Al? What are you going to do?

Al: Open the door, Marcie. Open the damned door!

Marcie: Go ahead, yell at me! You're going to be really mad. It's like a side effect, you know. It was all on the Internet.

Al: Why are you doing this to me?

Marcie: I'm doing it so that you can – you can get your life back.

Al: What life?

Marcie: Any life has got to be better than this one, Al.

Al: Oh, really? And you would know, how? You know, the only reason that you're doing this for me is because you don't have anything of your own -- or anyone, for that matter.

Marcie: Yeah, well, neither do you!

Mitch: My God, it's fairly throbbing with intensity.

Dorian: Well, now that you've gotten it -- oh. You've got your diamond, okay? So why don't we just get out of this dungeon?

Mitch: Sounds good to me.

Dorian: Step.

Jessica: Hey, I thought you guys had gone to bed.

Mitch: Oh, and miss my first dinner with my daughter? You haven't eaten, have you?

Jessica: Oh. Actually, I was just on my way out to Capricorn to go and see a band play.

Mitch: Oh, I was hoping we might have a chance to talk tonight.

Dorian: I was actually looking forward to going to bed early myself, so why don't the two of you go out for a quick bite to eat, and then you can go on with your plans, Jessica.

Jessica: Sure. Okay.

Mitch: Good. I'll just be a minute.

Dorian: So Capricorn is the place to be seen these days, hmm?

Jessica: Well, you would know. You've been there.

Dorian: I've been there for lunch, yes.

Jessica: Because I found this card in the library on the floor. It's a good thing I did, too, because there's a number on the back.

Dorian: It's not my handwriting.

Jessica: Oh, well, I assume somebody gave you their number.

Dorian: Have a lovely evening, Dear.

Jessica: Mm-hmm.

R.J.: Hey. Are we going to do this or not?

Flash: All right, guys, let's do this.

R.J.: Tonight, making their first appearance at Capricorn, please welcome Midnight Logic.

Flash: I'm together I found my way it came to me like radio from outer space I remember my used-to-be's no more living life like aimless archery if you can see me shine then you know what I can really be if you can see me shine then you know you're better off with me it's so easy here today rich and creamy life's dessert is every day please believe me when I say old day's over new day's here to stay if you can see me shine then you know what I can really be if you can see me shine then you know you're better off with me

Gabrielle: Bo was telling me how the judge made his ruling in record time, as well.

Nora: So Mitch Laurence obviously blackmailed Grafton or paid him off.

Hank: Or both.

Viki: And that, I'm sure, is the least of Mitch's crimes.

Dorian: Oh. Damn you to hell, Mitch.

Craig: Excuse me, Mrs. Laurence.

Dorian: Excuse me. Were you raised in a barn or something? Didn't anybody ever teach you to knock first?

Craig: I need to speak to you and Mr. Laurence.

Dorian: He's not in.

Craig: I'm afraid this can't wait.

Dorian: All right, what is it?

Craig: A matter of the stolen diamond you and your husband dug up earlier. The rightful owner will want to know its whereabouts unless we can come to some sort of agreement.

Viki: Jessica, please, what are you doing here with this man?

Jessica: I'm having dinner with my father.

Viki: Let me tell you something, Mitch Laurence. If any harm comes to my daughter because of you, I swear to you I will kill you!

Jessica: Mom, please -- please stop. Please?

Mitch: Viki, you're upsetting our daughter and you're interrupting a private conversation. So if you will please excuse us?

Mitch: We could go somewhere else if you'd like.

Jessica: No, no, we should stay. They have to start accepting my decision.

Flash: Sideways in all directions I see it in my own reflection sideways in all directions

Flash: Well, you can find me and lock me from myself but when you leave me it's back into my shell sideways in all directions I see it in my own reflection sideways in all directions I feel like there's no protection no protection no protection no protection no protection

Lindsay: Jen?

Jen: Mom?

Lindsay: I'm the psychiatrist that's been appointed to your case.

Jen: What?

Lindsay: I'm here to evaluate you to see if you're fit to stand trial.

Jen: Mom, stop it. It's me, your daughter, Jen.

Lindsay: Well, let's talk about your relationship with your mother for a minute. According to my notes, you've stated many times that "I am not my mother. I am nothing like my mother."

Marcie: You know what? We're going to get through this, Al.

Radio announcer: Filling in for the Voice of the Night. Current temperature is --

Marcie: Where are you, Voice? I need you now.

[Phone rings]

Antonio: Vega.

[Music plays]

Man: Hey, Martucci. Might want to come down to Capricorn. That old friend of yours -- he's here.

Antonio: Yeah? What's going on?

Martucci: Seems like he's getting tight with R.J. Gannon.

Antonio: All right. I'll try to make it down.

Flash: There's no feeling I feel coldness there's no feeling I feel soulless sideways in all directions I see it my own reflection sideways in all directions

R.J.: Hope you got a good seat there, Officer. You know, I believe we have a mutual acquaintance. How is Det. Vega?

Martucci: I don't know what you're talking about.

R.J.: Okay. Are you to make an arrest? Okay. Well, tell you what. I'm going to exercise my right to refuse you serviced and show you the door. Hmm?

[Cheers and applause]

Flash: Thank you.

R.J.: Which is right over there.

Mitch: You're very quiet. Are you sure you wouldn't rather go somewhere else?

Jessica: No, it's okay. My mom just left.

Mitch: Jessica, it means the world to me that we have this time together, especially now. You are more of a comfort to me than you will ever know.

Jessica: I can't imagine what it must be like for you. I mean, for me, it's just put so many things into perspective, you know?

Mitch: About your relationship with me?

Jessica: If you could still see, I wouldn't be sitting here right now.

Mitch: Yes, well, Praise the Lord that something good came out of my misfortune.

Jessica: Have you -- have you put any thought into rethinking any of your other decisions?

Mitch: Such as returning the Lord estate to your mother? Tell me; if I did give everything back -- the house, the money, the newspapers -- would you do something for me?

Jessica: What?

Mitch: Leave llanview for good and start a new life with me as father and daughter. Simple.

Jessica: You really would leave Dorian and give everything back to my family?

Mitch: In exchange for a new life with you, away from this town forever? Gladly.

Jessica: No, no, I couldn’t. I mean, I can't leave my family. My mom is already upset enough that I'm living with you and Llanfair. I just -- I just -- I couldn't leave for good. What?

Mitch: You're very honest.

Jessica: You were testing me to see if I'm just with you to get the money back.

Mitch: Well, I should've known you would never do that. And I'm sorry for not trusting you, but at least I do have hope that you'll let me be a father to you someday.

Dorian: Mitch, thank goodness you're here.

Mitch: What do you want, Dorian?

Dorian: We have a -- a bit of a problem at the house. You know the foundation construction problem we were having? That's become an emergency, and it is in fact quite dangerous and we need to get over there as fast as possible.

Joey: So, apparently the public agrees with me.

Flash: We did it.

Joey: You did it.

Flash: And it's all because of you. It's all because of you!

Lindsay: Think back to the moment that you were breaking into the hotel room. What were you feeling?

Jen: It was like the top of a roller coaster --

Lindsay: Go on.

Jen: The second before you go right over the huge hill. You feel kind of hollow, free, like you're going to escape everything and fly.

Lindsay: What were you trying to escape, Jen?

Jen: You. What are you writing?

Lindsay: That's confidential.

Jen: But it's about me.

Lindsay: Yes -- you and your present state of mind.

Jen: My state of mind? Now you're calling me crazy?

Lindsay: Think about it, Jen. You're in here because you committed a crime. You're an emotional wreck. Tell me -- how is it that you're different from your mother?

[Al groans]

Al: Marcie!

Marcie: Al, it's okay, it's okay.

Al: No, Marcie, it's not okay. I can't do this, all right? All right, it's too brutal. I need to taper off!

Marcie: No, no, no, that won't work.

Al: It will work! Please listen. You got to have those diet pills.

Marcie: No --

Al: Please, just one. Just one pill. Please! I got to have something!

Marcie: No, no, no, no! You need water! You need water!

Al: I don't need water! Please, give me a pill or open the door!

Joey: Yeah, a couple more gigs like that, we're going to find you a new place.

Flash: What, and give up all this?

[Joey laughs]

Flash: Thanks.

Joey: For what?

Flash: Oh, I don't know; let's see -- for not busting me for lifting your wallet twice, for not letting me run away, for getting me my first real gig.

Joey: Hey, what are friends for?

Flash: You know, you are a hell of a manager for a minister.

Cole: I'm taking off. I'll get back to you.

R.J.: Yeah. Make it soon.

Cole: I'll see you.

Max: Thought you said you didn't know that guy.

R.J.: Well, it turns out he's the friend of a friend. He just got out of the joint, looking for a job.

Max: Really?

R.J.: Mm-hmm.

Max: You starting an outreach program for ex-cons?

R.J.: You know, that's a thought.

Max: Come on, R.J., This is me. Tell me what's going on.

R.J.: If there's something I want you to know, I will tell you.

Max: I'm raising money to invest with you. Am I going to be sorry?

Antonio: "Sorry" is his middle name.

R.J.: Well, Det. Vega. You know, you just missed your undercover friend. Which reminds me -- I met a buddy of yours from prison. Yeah, Avery. Cole Avery. I'm really sorry you missed him.

Antonio: Yeah, well, I'm going to be around when he messes up. If you're smart, you won't be.

Jessica: Antonio. Looks like I missed the band.

Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, me, too. How's it going?

Jessica: Okay.

Antonio: I heard you moved back to Llanfair.

Jessica: Yeah. You can go ahead and call me a fool. I mean, everybody else has.

Antonio: Well, just remember who the guy is. I don't care if you're his daughter, Jessica. You just never know what Mitch Laurence is going to do next.

Dorian: Yes, he's right in front of you.

Mitch: My wife tells me that you've had a crisis of conscience.

Craig: I know what I heard. That diamond was stolen. I'll keep quiet about it.

Mitch: Yes, you will.

Craig: But that makes me an equal partner.

Mitch: I think not.

[Craig groans]

Joey: So, you know, next time I tell you you can do something, you going to believe me?

Flash: Probably not, but we'll just see how the next gig goes, you know?

Joey: Right. You know, it's getting late. I should -- sleep tight. Ahem. Whoa.

[Music plays]

[Flash coughs]

Al: Give me the damn key, Marcie!

Marcie: Sorry.

Al: Then I’ll find it myself.

Marcie: That's right, you do what you have to, but you are staying here and so am I!

Al: I can't! Marcie, I can't do this! I can't!

Marcie: Yes, you can.

Al: No, I --

Marcie: Yes, you can. It's going to be okay. You know what? I'm scared, too, but I'm not going to let us lose. I won't -- I won't let us lose. It's okay. It's okay.

[Al moans]

[Music plays]

Gabrielle: You know, a few days ago, I was afraid that we might never dance together again.

Bo: Oh, yeah. You didn't think that.

Gabrielle: Well, taking the letter and telling you about Matthew -- yes.

Bo: Yeah, but all the hours I've been putting in in this place -- I mean, you didn't really have much of a chance to tell me. And besides, you did tell me.

Gabrielle: I am so glad that we're okay.

Bo: After everything that we've been through? Yeah, we're okay.

Jen: Daddy. Why?

Dorian: Oh, my God. How could you?

Mitch: He was warned.

Dorian: But you killed him!

Mitch: I will not tolerate betrayal, not from anyone. Now help me. We'll put him down in the chamber and seal him in.

Dorian: No. I refuse to have anything to do with this.

Mitch: You're an accessory to murder, Dorian. Now move.

Jessica: Thanks for following me home.

Antonio: You tired?

Jessica: No, not really. Do you want to come in for a cup of coffee?

Antonio: Perfect. It puts me right to sleep.

[Jessica laughs]

Jessica: Is that a fact?

Antonio: Yeah.

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "One Life to Live”

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Bo: I'm always going to be around for you.

Nora: Who are you talking to?

Matthew: Bo. I called him up.

Cristian: Why is it such a big deal to you what happened to me and Jessica?

Antonio: You sure you want to stay here?

Dorian: What's Antonio Vega doing here?

Mitch: Quiet.
