Mitch: I have waited so long for this.

Blair: How do you do it -- lie next to that man at night?

Dorian: I haven't had to yet.

R.J.: If everyone thinks that you're dead, then you'll still be safe from Antonio.

Natalie: Is this another clue?

Cristian: See for yourself.

Natalie: I, um -- wow, I never thought that -- well, I mean, I always dreamed about it, but --

Cristian: To spend the rest of my life with you, Natalie. And I know you love me.

Natalie: Oh, I do, I do.

Cristian: All right, so then we're ready to take the next step. Let me put this ring on your finger and tell me you'll marry me.

Natalie: Cristian -- I canít.

Joey: Hey, thanks a lot for this, R.J. Flash and the band? I think you're really going to be impressed with them.

R.J.: Oh, now, Joe, how could I be the one to deny a man of the cloth a second chance?

Joey: Right.

R.J.: But I do trust that this time we won't have any interruptions from Llanview's most overzealous detective?

Joey: You know, Antonio was really going through some terrible grieving. I mean, Keri, the baby. He was lashing out at everybody. How about you? How are you doing? This has got to be tough on you, too.

[Phone rings]

R.J.: Hold on. Yeah? Oh, sure. Hold on. Look, Joey, I hate to cut off our little counseling session, but I really do need to take this call. It's the management for another group that I'm checking out.

Joey: All right, I got you. I'll see you tomorrow night?

R.J.: Yeah. Don't disappoint me.

Joey: You won't be disappointed.

R.J.: You still there?

Keri: Yeah. Are you busy?

R.J.: I'm never too busy for you. How's my granddaughter?

Keri: Beautiful, hungry, and growing like crazy.

R.J.: Well, I'm going to get up to Toronto to see you just as soon as I can, I promise. I miss you.

Keri: I miss you, too. I miss everybody. How's Hank doing? You know, I hate this. I hate him not knowing the baby and I are okay.

R.J.: You know that's the only way to keep Vega from finding out about his child.

Keri: How is Antonio?

R.J.: As pompous as ever. So if you're thinking about thinking again, donít.

Keri: R.J., I --

R.J.: Look, Keri, he has already moved on.

Keri: He has?

R.J.: Yes. He's seeing someone else, probably even as we speak.

Carlotta: Finding any old treasures in there?

Antonio: It's my baby's first sonogram.

Carlotta: You sure that's the best thing to be going through all that stuff?

Antonio: Why not? I mean -- I mean, this is my baby.

Carlotta: Antonio, I know you'll always have Keri and the baby in your heart, and I know you don't think that this is any of my business, but listen to me -- if you keep crowding your home with memories of Keri, you'll never have room in your heart for someone new.

Jessica: Mom?

Viki: Hi, Sweetheart.

Jessica: Do you want to go grab a bite to eat with me?

Viki: No, thank you, Sweetheart. I have a lot of work to do. You go ahead. Have fun.

Jessica: Okay. Good night.

Viki: Good night, darling. Oh, Jessie -- don't forget that we're meeting Natalie tomorrow morning at that address that she left, okay?

Jessica: Yeah, what's this surprise?

Viki: I don't know. I'm quite sure we'll find out in the morning.

Jessica: Okay. Love you.

Viki: I love you. Bye. Okay. "Search Dorian Lord, all activity, February 2000 to the present." Okay, Dorian, let's find out what you've been up to, Mrs. Laurence, and how I can undo the damage.

Dorian: I'm really confused. I had no idea you were so insecure.

Mitch: Oh, let's not try to fool each other, Dorian. We're too much alike for that. I'm aware the reason you married me was so you could return as the lady of Llanfair, with everything that comes with it.

Dorian: Actually, that is true. Yes, the idea of getting Llanfair back was an offer that I couldn't possibly refuse. But you were a very attractive part of that package.

Mitch: Well, I would tell you not to lie, but that'd be like telling you not to breathe. No, I am aware that you may not have the same depth of feelings for me that I find myself, sometimes against my better judgment, having for you. But that will change as we live under the same roof. You'll grow to want me just as I want you. And we will share the same bed.

Dorian: Of course we will. And soon. Believe me --

Mitch: Yes?

Dorian: The wait will be worth it.

Mitch: Well, I hope that it really will be soon, Darling.

Dorian: I have no doubt.

Mitch: Good.

Dorian: Oh, but can we just get just one thing perfectly clear between the two of us? You're not fooling me, either. Oh, no. This marriage has nothing to do with love for either one of us.

Mitch: Darling, I just told you how much I want you.

Dorian: Oh, please. Having me is just a small part of your agenda.

Mitch: Agenda? Me?

Dorian: I know I'm the crowning jewel in this master plan you have, this war against St. Viki. You've taken away everything that she has, and now you've turned around and you're going to share it with me, the woman who married her darling daddy and seduced her baby boy. It's the ultimate insult to her already injured soul.

Mitch: You do know me well. And just think, we have years ahead of us to know each other all the better, I mean, "ííTil death do us part."

Dorian: Of natural causes, of course.

Mitch: Oh, come now, you're not offended by our little prenuptial agreement, are you?

Dorian: No, absolutely not. But understand this -- I will never divorce you.

Mitch: Yes, it would be an awful shame for you to lose everything that you fought so hard to reclaim.

Dorian: And I don't want to lose you now that I've -- so let me look at the hand. My goodness. It's already getting infected, this fast? That's very --

Mitch: Darling, I appreciate the attention -- I really do -- but I'm sure it'll be fine by tomorrow. This really has been an exhausting day. We'll speak in the morning, Mrs. Laurence?

Dorian: Yes, Mr. Laurence.

Dorian: Lois? Lois!

Lois: Yes, Mrs. Laurence?

Dorian: Lois, I do not think that I've properly thanked you for agreeing to stay on here with us. I know that you worked for Mrs. Davidson for several years.

Lois: Yes, ma'am.

Dorian: Well, I would appreciate -- you know the guest bedroom at the end of the hallway? Would you make sure that it's properly stocked with sufficient fresh linens and towels? Those are going to be my quarters for the time being.

Lois: Yes, ma'am.

Dorian: That will be all, Lois. Thank you very much.

Cristian: Look, Natalie, I know this may seem kind of sudden, but I've really thought about this.

Natalie: No, it's not that at all.

Cristian: So you wouldn't want to marry me?

Natalie: No -- I mean, yes, I want to marry you. I want to marry you so badly, I can barely breathe.

Cristian: Then I don't understand. If you want to marry me, then --

Natalie: Why can't I? I just think that it's a big problem.

Cristian: What is?

Natalie: Your mother. I mean, I cooked her one meal, but that doesn't make me marriage material.

Cristian: Yeah, but you remember she brought us those candlesticks? That was sort of like a peace offering, don't you think?

Natalie: Yeah, it's a start.

Cristian: Well?

Natalie: But, Cristian, look, I know you, okay? You're not just going to want to have a marriage when your entire family can't be there.

Cristian: I don't care about that. I can have a small wedding. Come on, we could even elope.

Natalie: Oh, yeah, like that's really going to fix things.

Cristian: I'm serious, Natalie.

Natalie: You know, Cristian, I'm serious, too. I don't want to shut your mother out, and neither do you, come on. Plus, it's kind of a girlie thing, but I really want -- well, I've always dreamed about having this huge wedding.

Cristian: Okay.

Natalie: No, I mean, everything, you know? Like having the minister there and the organ and all the flowers all over the church, and then all of our friends and family there. And then everyone turns and looks at me in my beautiful dress -- the long train and the veil -- and then someone gives me away, kisses me goodbye, then I turn and I see you.

Cristian: All right, then you'll get your dream. I'll talk to my mom the first thing in the morning. All she wants is for me to be happy, and you make me happy. We're going to make this happen.

Natalie: Thank you. Thank you. Oh. I'm going to talk to my mom and Jess in the morning, too.

Cristian: Okay, well, make sure you mention to Mrs. Davidson the size of the wedding.

Natalie: Yeah, maybe, I should kind of trim it up a little bit.

Cristian: As long as it's me and you, it's going to be perfect. All right, I guess till -- till we settle things. Better hold on to this.

Natalie: Oh, no, no, no, you donít. I'm going to keep this right here. I'm not going to let this out of my sight. You know? I'll keep it right here and safe till your mom comes around, and then you'll be right here with me, where it counts.

Cristian: I can live with that.

Joey: So that's it. R.J. will be here tomorrow.

Flash: Excellent. Our turf.

[Flash coughs]

Joey: Are you okay?

Flash: I told you, it's just a cold.

Joey: Right, but if it's going to affect your voice, maybe --

Flash: No, no, no, you are not rescheduling. It's tomorrow.

Joey: Okay. Listen, I'm out of here. Good luck tomorrow. I'll see you then.

Man: Yo, Flash, we're gone.

Second man: Yeah, yeah, you know, there's this jam session at that old movie house right off Angel Square. You guys want to come?

Flash: No. Thanks, guys.

Man: Riley?

Flash: Have a good time.

Riley: Yeah, sounds good. Let me pack up my gear. I'll catch up. Damn, this is off the hook.

Flash: Tomorrow?

Riley: Hell, yeah. At least a job means some consistent flow.

Flash: Yeah. I don't care as long as it gives me 700 bucks, then it's "Aloha, Hawaii."

Riley: Don't even think about heading out on us.

Flash: I told you I was going to get you a new singer.

Riley: You'd better. See you in the A.M.

Flash: They say the best-kept secrets are hidden in shadow locked away deep revealed in sleep and you're the key but I see a distance I see a light from the window catches your eye as it meets mine and we meet you don't have to speak no, you can be silent no need for this game of hide-and-seek this way I believeÖ

Victor: You pathetic little man. Did you honestly think you could possess my power?

Mitch: You can't stop me. You're in hell.

Viki: You will pay dearly for taking away what is mine.

Mitch: I have paid, and now it is mine by right.

Jessica: I know what you really want.

Mitch: What?

Jessica: My love. But you're never going to have it.

Mitch: I will have your love. Once I have what's inside this box, I'll have everything.

Jessica: You're dead to me.

Mitch: Don't say that. I will have what I deserve.

Victor: Yes. Yes, you will. Tracking a legend like the Red Baron

Mitch: Lois. What the hell are you doing? You trying to kill me?

Lois: No, Sir. I don't know what you're talking --

Mitch: This!

Lois: Oh! Oh, my goodness.

Mitch: That was not antiseptic. It was poison, wasn't it?

Lois: Oh, no, Sir, I assure you, it was simply rubbing alcohol, Sir.

Mitch: Rubbing alcohol?

Lois: Oh, perhaps you should see a doctor.

Mitch: Yeah, perhaps you should remember your place.

Lois: Yes, Sir.

Mitch: Where's my wife?

Lois: She went out earlier this morning, Sir, I don't know where.

Dorian: Hello, R.J.

R.J.: Well, look who is here.

[Dorian laughs]

Dorian: Oh, my goodness. I should've brought you a gift. I hope it's the thought that counts?

R.J.: Well -- come here.

Dorian: Give me a hug, you.

R.J.: Oh. Well, we're even, because I am not going to get you a wedding gift.

Dorian: Oh, news travels fast here.

R.J.: Well, your husband does own both of the papers in town, so it didn't take long to figure out I was the only person not invited.

Dorian: Mitch was in charge of the guest list. You look wonderful. Love the club. Really, better than Indigo.

R.J.: Well, thank you, thank you. Actually, I'm thinking of opening another new club for a younger clientele.

Dorian: The world has moved on. We must move with it. It's a good thing you have your work, considering.

R.J.: You heard?

Dorian: Yes. And you were so kind to me when Mel died that if you need anything --

R.J.: No, I'm managing. Please, sit down.

Dorian: Glad to hear that. By the way, have you heard any word from Lindsay?

R.J.: Lindsay? No. No, just that she lost her marbles again and shot poor Sam Rappaport to death.

Dorian: Hmm. I understand she's in St. Ann's?

R.J.: Yeah, yeah, that's the way I hear it. A complete breakdown.

Dorian: R.J., is she faking it?

R.J.: Well, I wouldn't know. Why? You going to go have tea with the Prozac nation?

Dorian: Did you see her just before the crime was committed? Did she seem desperate?

R.J.: What are you up to?

Dorian: Pardonnez-moi.

R.J.: Why the interrogation?

Dorian: Well, can't a person care about a dear old friend?

R.J.: Well, sure, sure, Dorian, you can care about Lindsay -- but you donít. So come on, tell me, what's the angle this time?

Cristian: I've got some news -- big news.

Antonio: Uh, how big?

Cristian: Big. Last night I asked Natalie to marry me. Okay. Now, you know, I really didn't expect Mom to throw a party for us, but, Antonio, aren't you going to say anything?

Antonio: Uh -- yeah, you out of your mind?

Jessica: Is this where Natalie wanted us to meet?

Viki: This is the address she gave me.

Jessica: I guess there's only one way to find out.

Viki: I'd say so.

[Doorbell rings]

Viki: Hey.

Natalie: Welcome home.

Flash: Good news or bad?

Joey: Relax. I just talked to R.J. We're still on.

Man: Sweet.

Joey: Yeah. So, you guys, he's going to be a while. Do, um -- well, do whatever it is you do.

Flash: What's with the look?

Joey: Come here.

Flash: Look, if this is about my cough again, I'm telling you that I'm getting it taken care of.

Joey: Shh. I got some information on C.J.

Flash: Seriously? Well, where is he?

Joey: Well, he's still in Hawaii, but this should make you happy. Would you like to reach out and touch someone?

Flash: His number? Did you talk to him?

Joey: I figured you'd want to call him first.

Riley: Flash. We going to do the sound check today, please?

Natalie: So I basically just took the last of my trust funds before the whole Mitch thing happened, cashed them out, and used the money to pay for this place for the rent for the next six months. So if you want it, it's yours.

Viki: If we want it? Of course we want it.

Jessica: Thank you.

Viki: Sweetheart -- my God. Thank you. This is amazing! Can you come and live here with us again?

Natalie: Well, actually, that's the cool part. There is an apartment upstairs that Cristian and I can move into and there's room for him to have a studio.

Viki: I can't believe it! Oh, my word, how lucky am I? And I get to live with my girls! Oh, my.

Natalie: Well, it's not Asa Buchananís mansion, but it's -- it's got everything. I mean, it's great here.

Jessica: Whoa. Is that what I think it is?

Natalie: Yeah, um -- Cris asked me to marry him.

Viki: Natalie.

Natalie: Okay, before you guys lecture me, please, okay, listen. I know, I know I made a huge mistake with the whole Mitch thing, but I know what I'm doing. I want to marry Cris and I love him. And please, if you just -- if you can't be happy for us, don't say anything, okay??

Viki: Finished?

Natalie: Well, I think so.

Viki: Sweetheart, I am so unbelievably, incredibly happy for you.

Cristian: What's with you, Tonio? You know how much I love Natalie.

Antonio: Yeah. So what? Look, how long have you been going out with her, a few months? Before that, you were going out with Jen for years.

Cristian: So if it hasn't been for years, then --

Antonio: And not to mention that her family's going through hell right now. Look, if I were you, I would just put it on hold.

Cristian: Hell, you want to talk about family problems? You fell in love with R.J. Gannon's daughter. Did I tell you to back off? Did I say, "Hey, man, maybe you should look at your track record, you know, base everything on that?Ē Did I say that?

Carlotta: Look, I think your brother's just trying to get you to listen to what he has to say.

Cristian: Okay, fine, then why don't you guys just listen to what I have to say? I asked Natalie to marry me. And you know what she said? No, not yet. Do you know why she said that? Because she wants your blessing. She doesn't want to upset you, Mom. She's trying hard. I mean, the other night she had that dinner, that whole dinner for you. She was worried sick.

Carlotta: I know. Did I say something wrong?

Cristian: No, but I just don't want her worrying anymore. She deserves to feel safe and loved. And it would be really nice if it was my family that was doing the loving. Look, it's very simple -- I want you to give Natalie your blessings. But if you can't at least, you know, reach out and meet her halfway, then that's fine, too. But I'm going to marry Natalie whether you like it or not. And that goes for you, too, Antonio. So what's it going to be?

Dorian: Lois? Lois!

Lois: Yes, ma'am, I was just taking care of --

Dorian: Hurry up, please. What is this on the floor? It looks to me like blood.

Lois: Oh, my goodness, that must be Mr. Laurence's cut. It must have opened.

Dorian: Well, please, go get something and clean it up right away. Thank you.

Lois: Yes, ma'am.

Dorian: Seems to have left a trail.

Dorian: How odd.

Ms. Xydis: This box, or at least the story behind it, dates back to ancient India. It was said to contain a stone of great power, giving the man who owned it abilities which rivaled the gods. He grew rich and powerful and died only after the box was stolen from him. But the legend goes on to say that the thief was found not far from the palace, savagely mutilated, dead. It is believed he tried to open the box, but what he found he could not control. His body was petrified, his face frozen in an eternal scream, the box nowhere to be found. It appears later in other folklore, but always with the same tragic outcome.

Mitch: Hmm. That's fascinating. You said the box contains a stone of great power. What exactly would that be?

Ms. Xydis: The Badhra diamond. But as I said, this is folklore.

Mitch: Hmm.

Ms. Xydis: But in this case, the moral is always the same -- that which brings great power, like the contents of this box, also brings calamity. Because as the story goes, the Badhra diamond is cursed. Anyone who steals it will go mad and suffer a horrible death.

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Flash: Your family's out on the street, and you're here helping people at Angel Square?

Rex: If we get caught, I'm not the only one going to jail.

Jen: Yes, Sir.

Jessica: Seeing that ring is pretty amazing.

Natalie: Yeah, I love it more every second I wear it.

Gabrielle: Bo, is it over between us?
