Lindsay: Well, obviously, you're getting something from me you're not getting anywhere else.

Blair: I hate to see you hurting like this, Todd.

Todd: Who's hurting? Not -- not me. You know who's going to be hurting is Mitch Laurence if he ever lays another finger on Jessica. Then he'll be hurting. One more time and then never again.

Blair: You know, you can act all tough and all, but I know how you really feel.

Todd: Oh, really?

Blair: Mm-hmm.

Todd: Can you bend spoons with that mind of yours now?

Blair: Look, it's me you're talking to, Todd.

Bo: Damn, Hank. We can't nail Laurence for anything that he did in the past? You're telling me that there's nothing in here we can use against him now?

Hank: I'm afraid not.

Bo: He threatened Cristian Vega right in front of Natalie.

Hank: Yeah, well, I'm sure he did. But, look; it's her word against his. The man hasn't broken any laws.

Bo: So what do we do, wait until he does?

Hank: Generally, that's the way it goes. Oh, come on, calm down. Look, I don't like this any more than you do.

Bo: Well, we've got to do something, or somebody is going to end up getting hurt.

Hank: Yeah. I heard that he came into the station looking for a restraining order against Cristian.

Bo: Yeah, can you believe this guy?

Hank: Was there anything to it?

Bo: Well, no, no. You know, Cristian was defending Natalie and Jen.

Hank: Defending them how?

Bo: Well, he didn't do anything. I was there.

Hank: Did he make a threat?

Bo: A -- well, Cristian did say that if Laurence didn't back off, he'd kill him.


Rex: Cristian, easy. You're supposed to stay away from Natalie, right?

Natalie: You really think I'm going to sleep with you?

Marcie: Jen, hi.

Natalie: I don't care what you say. I am not your wife, not in the biblical sense or any other way.

Mitch: We were married, Natalie, in the eyes of God and the law.

Viki: Jessica -- this is all very overwhelming, Honey. I know it's very hard to deal with -- Mitch Laurence and what he did and what it caused.

Jessica: It caused me.

Viki: Yes, and I thank God for that. I know that it's an awful lot to comprehend, Honey, but it will get easier, believe me, in time.

Jessica: I don't see how.

Viki: It will. Look, I'll help you. You'll see.

Viki: Will you at least give it a try?

Jessica: Mom, it's not going to get better. Time is not going to help. I've got to go.

Todd: That's funny because all you say is how much you hate me.

Blair: I hate some of the things that you've done, Todd, but I don't hate you.

Todd: Oh, you know what I hate? I hate when you start sounding like Viki.

Todd: Hmm. Didn't stop you from divorcing me.

Blair: Just like it doesn't stop me from caring about you, just like it doesn't stop you from caring about me.

Blair: You were acting out of rage for your father.

Todd: You know what? You should stick to what you do best, whatever that is.

Blair: And you know what? Mitch is still at it, Todd. He's still trying to ruin other people's lives, and you've tried to spend the rest of your life trying to make up for what you did to Marty.

Viki: Baby, this -- this is your home. I mean, your whole life is here.

Jessica: My whole life? None of which was real.

Viki: Jessica, Mitch Laurence has already hurt us so much. I beg of you, don't let him keep on doing it.

Jessica: Oh, there is no way that he can hurt me any worse than he already has.

Cristian: Get your hands off her.

Natalie: Cristian -- okay, donít.

Mitch: Oh, there's nothing wrong with a husband showing a little affection toward his wife. Isn't that right, Natalie?

Cristian: You touch her one more time --

Mitch: And what? You'll speak sharply to me?

Natalie: Cristian, please, don't make this any worse.

Cristian: I'm not going to let him hurt you any more, Natalie.

Natalie: It's okay, really.


Marcie: I don't get it. You called Cristian in from the back so he could get all protective of Natalie?

Jen: That's right.

Marcie: Why? Why would you want to see that?

Jen: "Witness" is more like it. Keep watching.

Natalie: Cristian, please. Please, just leave it alone.

Mitch: She's right, Mr. Vega. But perhaps you can explain it to him, Darling, make sense of the whole thing. But do hurry. We do have certain unfinished business between us.

Natalie: Cristian -- Cristian, you can't do that.

Cristian: Natalie, he's all over you.

Natalie: But, look, Nora said we can't act like we're together. It's going to hurt my chances of getting that annulment.

Cristian: Yeah, yeah, I know, but the guy is just --

Natalie: I know. I hate him, too. But look, this is the last time I ever have to talk to him.

Cristian: Look, I don't know what this unfinished business is, but I don't want you talking to him anymore.

Natalie: Okay. Okay, I wonít. I'll go home.

Cristian: Okay. Have Rex drive you. I'll make sure Laurence doesn't follow you.

Natalie: Just be careful.

Cristian: He's not going to try anything here, not with all these people around. You better go.

Natalie: Rex, can you give me a ride home?

Rex: Yeah, no problem. Soon as my shift's over.

Cristian: You're not going anywhere.


Troy: Hey.

Nora: Are you all right?

Troy: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm just surprised to see you, that's all.

Nora: Yeah, I can tell.

Troy: Well, I thought your meeting was going to be going a little later.

Nora: Well, I did, too, but Mitch Laurence absolutely refused to discuss the annulment, so we're going to court.

Troy: Oh. Well, I hope it works out for you.

Nora: Oh, well, it's going to be a slam-dunk. I've got some other news, though.

Troy: What's that?

Nora: Sam and I had a discussion with Matthew about you and I getting married.

Troy: And how did it go?

Nora: Well, he's pretty excited about you being his stepfather. He loves you a lot, Troy.

Troy: I love him. Almost as much as I love his mother.

Nora: Hey, so, where were you off to, huh?

Troy: Well, you know, I was thinking about the engagement. I just couldn't sit still, so I figured I'd go out.

Nora: Yeah?

Troy: Yeah. You know, why don't you come join me. We'll go celebrate our engagement some more. You know, finish what we started, right?

Nora: Oh, I have an idea -- how about we finish what we started right back inside?


Hank: You heard Cristian threaten to kill Mitch Laurence?

Bo: Oh, come on, Hank. He was just letting off a little steam. And you better believe that Laurence was goading him.

Hank: Was he or not?

Bo: Well, I don't know, I didn't get there until the end. But I know the way Laurence operates, and that's exactly what I'm going to tell that judge, too. There's no way he's getting a restraining order against Cristian.

Hank: Well, he doesn't deserve one.

Bo: Well, he doesn't need one. Man, this is pitiful.

Hank: Yeah? What's that?

Bo: Well, Laurence ought to be jail right now, and the only thing can do is deny him a restraining order?

Hank: You know, Bo, I'm sorry. I just wish I could do more to help.

Bo: Well, it's only a matter of time before he pulls something, and that's why I've got those guys of mine posted at Viki's house right now.

Hank: Unofficially, I hope.

Bo: Yeah, yeah, yeah. The mayor won't approve any uniforms unless a crime has been committed.

Hank: Yeah, yeah, what can I say? Budget restraints, you know.

Bo: Well, these guys are pitching in off-duty, and Viki's taking care of them out of her own pocket. But Natalie -- she's going to be rid of Laurence pretty soon. Nora's handling the annulment.

Hank: Since when does Nora handle marital cases, Bo?

Bo: Well, I guess she's so happy because she's getting married again, you know, so she wants to help Natalie and Cristian out.

Hank: Nora's getting married?

Bo: Oh, man. You know, I'm going to pay for this. You really knew nothing about this?

Hank: Well, I know now.

Bo: You don't seem too thrilled.

Hank: I'm just glad they worked everything out.

Bo: I didn't know they had anything to work out.

Hank: Okay, now who's talking out of turn?

Bo: What? So, were they having problems?

Hank: No. No, no, no, just typical couple stuff.

Bo: Ah. Well, I guess everything's okay now.


Troy: You know what? Actually, I would much rather go out, you know, show off my new bride-to-be. We'll come back here later.

Nora: All right, I do have to admit I haven't eaten anything since the champagne and the caviar.

Troy: I know. I'm starving. Come on; let's go get something to eat.

Nora: With more champagne, too?

Troy: Some champagne.

Nora: Some champagne.

Troy: And then we'll come back here, have ourselves a nice private celebration, okay?

Nora: Okay.

Troy: All right, let's go.

Emily: Troy, Nora. Hi.

Nora: Hi.

Troy: Emily.

Emily: You know, I am really sorry about interrupting you guys before.

Nora: Before? When? Before when? What?

Emily: Just, you know, before.

Troy: Emily's talking about right after I proposed. She thought she was barging in on us.

Nora: Oh, God, no. You were going to be the first to know.

Troy: I told you. See? Well, anyway, we're heading out to go grab something to eat, so --

Emily: Oh, actually, I was going to leave this for you at your door, but since you're here, I can give it to you in person.

Troy: Is this what I think it is?

Emily: Yes, from Mom and Dad's plant, the big old one that they had in the den.

Troy: Yeah, I know, I know. It's the wedding present that Aunt Rosemary gave them.

Emily: Yeah. It stayed strong and healthy through the years, just like their love and just like I know yours and Nora's will, too.

Nora: Oh.


Cristian: There's no way I'm letting you follow Natalie.

Mitch: Well, I do hope you're not making another threat.

Cristian: Call it what you want, but you're not getting anywhere near her -- not now, not ever.


Rex: Sorry it's taking so long for me to get out of here, but I can't go till my replacement gets here.

Natalie: It's all right.

Mitch: Believe me, I understand why you want to keep Natalie all to yourself. She's quite the tempest, as I'm sure many a man would and could attest to.

Cristian: Shut up.

Mitch: Mr. Vega, you were brought up right, raised in a Catholic home. Remember what it says in scripture -- "Keep from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife, for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread and the adulteress preys upon your very life."

Rex: Chill, okay?

Cristian: Thanks. Are you going to open a tab?

Mitch: No, I'm not.

Cristian: Then get out. You're done here.

Mitch: In other words, Mr. Vega, Natalie is one hot little number. My hot little number. And soon I plan to find out exactly how hot. Comprende?


Jessica: You want to come with me?

Viki: Yes. Yes. I'm going to come with you. We'll leave just as on as Natalie is out of this marriage to Mitch.

Jessica: Mom --

Viki: And I know you want to leave right away, but it's not going to be long because the annulment is hopefully already in the works, okay?

Jessica: Mom --

Viki: What?

Jessica: I don't want you to come with me.

Viki: Why? You're worried about Natalie? Natalie's going to be fine. Bo will look after her or Cristian will.

Jessica: That's not what this is about.

Viki: Yes. And Bo is going to take care of Mitch Laurence, too. He's going to figure out some way to get Mitch out of our lives completely. I know you said you went and talked to him and you told him you didn't want to see him anymore, but I understand that that's going to be very difficult to do because he lives in this town and it'll be impossible for you to avoid him. You will have to deal with him somehow.

Jessica: Mom?

Viki: Yeah, so once we are away from Mitch, everything will be much, much easier, I swear to you.

Jessica: Stop, stop. I'm not leaving to get away from Mitch. I'm leaving to get away from you.


Blair: This isn't about me forgiving you, Todd.

Todd: Yeah, it is.

Blair: No.

Todd: It is. You can't forgive me for me taking Jack away from you.

Blair: This is about you forgiving you. And if you can't forgive yourself, then how do you expect other people to forgive you?

Todd: Well, maybe, you know, if I had a little support around here --

Blair: Oh, stop, stop. It's got to come from you, Todd. You know, if you keep on believing that you're this awful person, then you're going to keep on doing awful things because of it.

Todd: Like telling you that your baby's dead.

Blair: That was an incredibly cruel thing. And as cruel as it was, it did not make you evil. It did not make you evil like Mitch Laurence.

Todd: Oh, well, let's compare, shall we?

Blair: Okay, go ahead.

Todd: All right. Mitch Laurence takes Viki's baby away from her without her even knowing.

Blair: Mm-hmm.

Todd: What did I do? I took Jack away from you and told you that he was dead. Now, you don't see any similarities there between those two things?

Blair: I know that you felt bad about it, and I know that you feel bad about it now, or we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Todd: So I'm just bad because I feel bad but I'm not intrinsically evil?

Blair: Todd, an evil person couldn't love their children the way that you love yours. They couldn't take care of me the way that you've taken care of me and allowed me to see my children.

Todd: Well, maybe I just owed you one.

Blair: No, maybe you just can't admit that you could actually -- actually be nice for a change.

Todd: I'll admit that I'm not evil, but I am certainly not nice.

Blair: You know, if you weren't, I never --

Todd: Never what?

Blair: You know I loved you, Todd.

Todd: Yeah, till you wised up.

Blair: You know, Todd, if you would stop all this self-loathing stuff, then maybe everyone wouldn't loathe you.

Todd: Everyone like who?

Blair: I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed.


Viki: You don't mean that.

Jessica: Sorry. I didn't want to say that, but you didn't give me any other choice.

Viki: Do you hate me that much?

Jessica: No. God, no, I don't hate you. I could never hate you.

Viki: Then we can work it out, Jessie. We can.

Jessica: But, you see, it's not that easy.

Viki: I know it's not going to be easy, but we can do it. I --

Jessica: Every time you say that, it makes it worse..

Viki: Say what?

Jessica: You keep reassuring me that it's going to be okay, but it isnít. Nothing is ever going to be the same.

Viki: Jessica -- Jessica, I'm your mother. I'm still your mother. You're still my daughter. We love each other. That has not changed.

Jessica: But everything else has. Clint is not my dad. And Natalie --

Viki: Natalie is your sister.

Jessica: She's my half sister -- yours and Clintís daughter, the daughter that was born out of your love, not like me. I was born out of your worst nightmare.

Viki: Oh, my God, I don't think of it like that.

Jessica: How can you not?

Viki: Baby, I love you. I've loved you from the second you were born. I've loved you your whole life.

Jessica: That was before -- that was before you realized that I was conceived in the most disgusting way. Oh, come on. Can you honestly look at me and say that I don't remind you of that? Can you?


Mitch: I will have Natalie.

Cristian: You're out of your mind.

Mitch: Am I? I got Viki into bed, didn't I? I fathered Jessica. I switched her with Natalie. And then I got Natalie to marry me. There's no end to my talent, is there?

Cristian: It ends now. You're not going to lay a hand on Natalie because I'm not going to let you and neither will she.

Mitch: I don't care whether she lets me or not.

Cristian: Shut your mouth, man, or I'll shut it for you!


Todd: What are you doing?

Blair: This thing won't inflate.

Todd: Well, maybe it's got a hole in it.

Blair: How?

Todd: Do I look like I would know?

Blair: You know what? It doesn't matter anyway. I'll just go sleep on the sofa downstairs.

Todd: No, you can't do that, Blair.

Blair: Well, why not?

Todd: Well, because you're supposed to be in hiding.

Blair: Yeah, I am.

Todd: Well, what if Hedy comes in the morning and sees you zonked out on the couch?

Blair: Well, I am not going to sleep on the hard floor, Todd.

Todd: No, you don't need to do that.

Blair: That is so nice. See? I told you you could be nice. Giving up your bed for me?

Todd: Whoa --

Blair: I mean, that's not nice, that's noble.

Todd: Who said anything about giving up my bed? You can sleep on the chair over there.

Blair: What?

Todd: Sweet dreams.


Viki: When I look at you, I see one thing. I see the most wonderful, beautiful daughter of mine that I love. I always have, and I always will.

Jessica: You can deny it. I just -- I know you think of Mitch when you look at me. I know you do.

Viki: No, I don't, Jessie. I beg of you to believe me. I donít.

Jessica: I don't blame you. It's not your fault that this happened just like it's not mine. But it did happen, and you hate that it did.

Viki: No, I hate what Mitch Laurence did to me. I hate the fact that he raped me, okay? And I hate even more that I was so horrified by it that I blocked it out. I hate Mitch Laurence, yes, for that and everything else that man did, now and in the past -- with his cult and his flock. I hate everything about him. But you? Oh, my God, I don't hate you, Jessie. I could never hate you. I love you. I love you more than I could ever say.

Jessica: I love you, too. That's why this hurts so much.

Viki: But, baby, it doesn't have to.

Jessica: I wish it didn't, Mom. I -- I really do. I wish that Clint was my father. I wish that Mitch didn't exist, but he does. And this is how it is. It's how it's going to be. And no matter how many times you tell me that you're okay with it and that I'm going to be okay with it, it -- come on, we both know that that is not true.

Viki: Yes, it is true. It is true. Jessica, Mitch took you away from me once. I cannot let him do it again.

Jessica: You have to. For me.

Viki: Why for you?

Jessica: Because I can't be around here, Mom. I can't be around you. So you have to do this. If you love me, you have to do this for me. You have to let me go.


Cristian: You lay a hand on --

Mitch: And what?

Natalie: Cristian, don't! I'm calling the police.

Mitch: You can't stop me from having what's rightfully mine.

Cristian: Shut up.

Mitch: And neither can Natalie because I'm much stronger than she is.

Cristian: I'll kill you, you son of a --

Rex: Cristian, come on!


Nora: Thank you very much. Thank you for this --

Troy: Yeah.

Nora: And for welcoming me into your family.

Emily: Well, thank you for making my brother so happy, especially these past few days. He deserves it.

Nora: Aw.

Emily: All right, I'll let you all go now.

Troy: All right.

Emily: Please have fun.

Nora: Thank you.

Emily: Bye-bye.

Troy: All right. So, are you ready? Let's go.

Nora: No, no, no. Let's go put this inside.

Troy: No, no, just leave it at the front door.

Nora: No, we can't leave it out -- absolutely not. We can't do that.

Troy: Nora, would you --

Nora: It will take two seconds.

Troy: No, come on. If we don't go now, we're never going to go. Now let's go.

Nora: Is that such a bad thing, hmm?

[Phone rings]

Troy: Would you come on? Now let's go.

Nora: Come on. The phone's ringing. Why don't you go answer the phone?

Troy: Let the answering machine get it.

Nora: It could be an emergency.

Troy: Well, then they'll page me.

Nora: What's the matter with you tonight?

Troy: What?

Nora: Usually, when a phone's ringing, you're jumping all over it. Go on.

Troy: Okay, fine. Here.

Nora: This was sweet. Take care of it.

Troy: I will be right back.

Nora: All right.

Troy: All right. Then we're going.


Nora: Are you going to answer that before the machine picks up?

Troy: Yeah, yeah.


Troy: Hello?

Lindsay: Hi. Guess where I am.

Lindsay: Don't worry; I'm gone. You can thank me tomorrow.

[Dial tone]

Nora: You all right?

Troy: Yeah, I'm fine.

Nora: Who was that? Was that the hospital?

Troy: No, no. Telemarketer.

Nora: Oh, because you kind of looked a little worried there for a second.

Troy: No, no, it's just -- they didn't say anything, and I thought it might have been one of my patients, so --

Nora: Can I ask a favor?

Troy: I have a feeling this is going to be a big favor.

Nora: Maybe. Now that we're in --

Troy: Yeah?

Nora: Can we just stay in? Please?

Troy: You ask like that, absolutely.

Nora: I don't think you'll be sorry.

Troy: You know something? I'm already not sorry.

Nora: We just stay in and have a little celebration, order in Chinese?

Troy: Chinese -- I love you. And I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that you're happy no matter what.

Natalie: Christian, no!

Bo: Cristian, back off! Back off! What the hell is going on here?

Mitch: He came at me like an animal.

Bo: Yeah? What did you do to provoke him?

Mitch: Not a thing.

Cristian: That's a lie. He was --

Bo: What?

Mitch: I did nothing. I didn't even raise my voice. You can ask any witness here to confirm it.

Bo: Is that true? What about you two? Did you see how this started?

Marcie: Well, I couldn't really hear what they were saying, but, well, they were talking, and then Cristian just suddenly went crazy.

Bo: Was that how you saw it, Jen?

Jen: I'd rather not say.

Bo: Look, if you're a witness, you're required by law to tell me. What happened, Jen?

Jen: Mitch might have said something to Cristian.

Bo: Did you hear what he said?

Jen: No.

Bo: Did you see Mitch Laurence make any kind of a threatening move towards Cristian? Jen, come on; tell me the truth now.

Jen: No. No, he didn't do anything to him. Cristian, I'm so sorry.

Bo: Yeah. Well, I'm sorry, too. Cristian Vega, you're under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be supplied to you by the court at no cost to you. Do you understand these rights as I've explained them to you?

Cristian: Yeah.
