One Life to Live Transcript Monday 12/10/01 By Suzanne >> Previously on "One Life to Live" -- Keri: You're my what? R.J.: I'm your father. Alex: I am down here to scatter Asa’s ashes. Lindsay: Thanks for the wine. Troy: You're welcome. Nora: I'm not having an affair with Troy MacIver. Andrew: I now pronounce you husband and wife. There. Todd, you may kiss the bride. ****************************************** Todd: Oh, my face hurts. Blair: Five more seconds and everybody's gone. We're all alone. Todd: Five, four, three, two, one. Blair: Good-bye. [Clanging] Starr: Cassie and Kelly said that if I bang this that you guys have to kiss. Cassie: You heard your daughter. Kelly: Ok, you're going to break it. Todd: We kissed when the minister was here. We don't want to wear out this whole kissing thing. Starr: No, I'm not going to stop until you kiss. [Clanging stops] Todd: Fine. But after tomorrow, this whole thing with the fork doesn't count. Todd: Ok, you ready for your present? ********************* Hedy: Your papa -- he's very strange. And your mama -- well, they can't both be crazy, huh? We'll be meeting your mother any minute now. Yeah. Yeah. Ja. ********************* Woman: We hope to see you later, then, Mrs. Buchanan. Troy: So, is she coming? Woman: She asked me to hold the reservation, but she's still not sure if she'll be able to make it tonight. Troy: Ok. Well, thank you. You went above and beyond, and I appreciate it very much. Woman: My pleasure, Doctor. Troy: Oh, you know what? There is one other thing. If Ms. Buchanan does show up, can you make sure that she winds up at a table near me? Woman: Consider it done. Troy: Thank you. Lindsay: Hi. Hello. Troy: Lindsay, don't you look beautiful, huh? Lindsay: Well, thank you. Troy: Have a seat. Lindsay: But this is going to be a very successful fundraiser with or without your sweet talk, so -- Troy: Well, the compliment was from the heart. But if you'd rather just get down to work, I'm ok with that. Lindsay: Ok. Before we get started, I’d just like to say one thing. I had a really good time last night. Troy: So did I. In fact, I had a dream about you. ********************* Nora: It's a peace offering. It's a little lame, considering, but -- it's a start. Nora: I'm so sorry. Sam: You'll never guess where I was just now. Nora: Travel agent booking a flight far, far away from me? Sam: I was at your house, wanting to apologize. Nora, you have every right to make decisions about your own life. I am sorry I overreacted. Nora: Oh, please. I don't know why I lied to you, Sam. You had every reason to be angry. Sam: It's this problem I have, and I've had it for a long time. Nora: Really? Sam: Ever since I met this woman in Chicago, this incredible woman, I just can't seem to shake it. I can't stop loving her. Nora: I'll kill her. Sam: You should. ********************* Asa: Wrong room. Go away. Alex: Captain, are you all right? [Asa coughs] Asa: No captain. I'm the colonel. Alex: I thought this was the captain's room? [Asa coughs] Asa: I'm -- I’m his brother. Alex: A colonel. Sounds like he's on his last legs. ********************* Blair: Todd, the surprise wedding was enough of a gift for me. I still can't believe we're married. Starr: Now we're a real family. Kelly: Yeah, let's hope it lasts. Cassie: Kelly -- Todd: Ok, that's enough out of the peanut gallery. Wedding was ok? Blair: It was incredible. Starr: It was romantic. Todd: Wait until you see what I got in store for you. Blair: No -- Todd: No, no, no, hold on. Blair: This -- Todd: I got you a present. Blair: No, Todd, I don't need any presents. All my dreams came true today, and I am just so happy. Kelly: And she'd better stay happy. Cassie: Amen. Starr: Double amen. Todd: Ok. Trust me, you're going to -- you're going to want this present. It's just that it's upstairs and I need to talk to you about it before I give it to you. Starr: Hurry up. [Muffled voice] I'm sorry. I'm sorry. [Normal voice] I'm sorry! Todd: I'm going to give you this present, but before I do, I got to talk to you and I got to say something. And it's something big, and it -- it may not be something that you want to hear. Blair: What is it, Todd? Todd: It's the truth about the baby. ********************* Lindsay: You had a dream about me? Troy: That's right. Lindsay: Is it something I want to hear about? Troy: Oh, no, no, no, no. It was good. A little unexpected, but very memorable. Nora: Did you get it? Troy: Wow. Nora: You did, didn't you? You got it, didn't you? Troy: You were right, Nora. Lindsay's the one that stole your memories. She injected you with that drug, and I can prove it. Nora: Oh, Troy. I don't know how to thank you. Lindsay: Earth to Troy. Where were you just now? Troy: Uh -- I was -- I was just remembering the dream I just told you about. Lindsay: Wow. Judging from the look on your face, that must've been some good dream. Troy: Yeah. Yeah, it w.. Lindsay: Ok. Tell me. Troy: Uh -- maybe after I get to know you a little better. Lindsay: Maybe we better get down to business. Troy: Ok. Let me see what you got for me. Lindsay: Well, Dr. MacIver, I am about to make you a very, very happy man. ********************* Sam: We spent so much of our life apart, Nora. My time with you is precious to me. Nora: I'm not going anywhere. Ok? And just so you know, it wasn't about romance, my being at Troy’s, ok? And that's why I should've told you why I was there and -- well -- Sam: Let's forget about that, ok? Nora: No, I don't want to forget about that. I don't want to forget about anything ever, ever again. Sam: Did you open your present? Nora: No. Sam: You didn't? Nora: No, I didn't think I had the right to do that, but I -- I didn't forget about it. Sam: So? Nora: So? Sam: Open it. Nora: Really? Sam: Mm-hmm. [Nora gasps] Nora: Sam, it's beautiful. Oh, my God. Would you put it on me? Sam: My pleasure. Nora: Here. Nora: My God, it matches the earrings that you gave me. Sam: I thought it was time to complete the set. Nora: But it's not Christmas Eve and this wasn't in the bottom of a champagne glass. Sam: Well, since you swallowed those earrings the last time, I thought I would try something different. Nora: I didn't swallow them. I didn't swallow -- I almost swallowed them. I was looking at you. Sam: Well, tried to swallow them. [Sam and Nora laugh] Nora: I just was looking in your eyes, and that's all I could see. Sam: Yeah, what you saw was panic as I imagined you choking on those earrings and me having to perform -- wait a minute. You remembered that. Nora: Vividly. Sam: But that was -- Nora: That was the Christmas after Matthew was born. It wasn't as snowy as when Matthew was born and you didn't have to carry me anywhere, but I remember it. Sam: Nora. Nora: I do. I remember it all, Sam. I remember being in labor -- ow. And I remember the snowstorm, and I remember you having to carry me. I remember all of it. ********************* Keri: Antonio, it's Keri. I hope you're ok. I know you're busy, so you don't have to return the call. I'll just see you when you get back. I'm looking forward to it. Ok. [Noise] Keri: I'm calling the cops. R.J.: Don’t. I -- I didn't mean to scare you. Keri: Are you following me? R.J.: Yes. ********************* Alex: What are you doing and why didn't you tell me that the captain had a brother that was a colonel that needs first aid, you know, with that cough? Nigel: Can't fool you, Madam. You know, it's all so terribly sad. Alex: Oh, dear, is he very ill? Nigel: Well, there's something you should know about the captain's brother, something very important. And being a former F.A.B. agent, I know you'll understand. And I hope you understand you should be very -- Asa: Ugh. Smells like a cathouse out here. Asa: What in the hell? ********************* Blair: Look, I told you the truth about the baby, and I know it was too late. It was terrible. It was worse than terrible. Todd: Blair -- Blair: But, Todd, you know, I thought the fact that we got married meant that you were getting over what I did. I -- Todd: It's not something that you did, Blair. I'm talking about something that I did. Kelly: Great. Here we go again. Starr: Are you trying to make Mommy sad again? Todd: No, I'm trying to make your mother happy, Starr. Starr: Well, don't mess it up. She already is happy. Todd: Look, I'm not trying to mess anything up. I'm just -- I'd like a minute alone to talk to her before I give her this present. Starr: How could a present be bad? Kelly: Good question, Todd. Cassie: Yeah, what is this? Todd: Starr, go lock Kelly and Cassie in a closet. Kelly: Oh, lovely. Blair: You know what? Kelly and Cassie are the ones that made this wedding happen. Todd: Yeah, well, I paid for it. Blair: Well, they didn't kidnap me and we got to get married. Kelly: Don't make us regret it, Todd. Cassie: Yeah, I came a long way to see Blair happy. Todd: Ok, just shut up. Blair: Would you be nice, please? Todd: Ok, I'll be nice. Fine. Lock them in a big closet, will you, with little cedar mothballs -- Kelly: Oh, enough, stop! We will go, ok? But to quote Starr -- "Don't wreck it." I want to be able to call Kevin and tell him that this wedding went off without a hitch. Cassie: Ok, Starr, why don't you go pack a few toys for your overnight with River. Starr: Can I bring my flytrap? Today's feeding day. Cassie: You mean -- Blair: It's a plant with, like, teeth. Cassie: Uh -- Starr: Yeah. River can help me catch big, fat flies for it. Cassie: Oh, good. That's right up his alley. Yeah, you can go get it. Starr: It's not an "it." It has a name -- Renfield. Cassie: Great. Great. Well, go get "it" and -- Starr: Renfield! Cassie: Fine, fine! I'll go pay the caterer. Blair: So, what is it you have to tell me about the baby, Todd? ********************* Starr: Renfield? Renfield, I know I left you in here. This place has the best flies. Renfield? Hey. Who are you? ********************* Lindsay: Ok, now for some good news. I got a donor list from the New York athenaeum. Troy, we are going to put your clinic on the map. Troy: Wow. Lindsay, you've put a lot of work into this. Lindsay: Well, you know, it's a very worthy cause. Troy: Is that the only reason? Lindsay: Yeah. That and I owe you, I feel. Troy: You owe me? For what? Lindsay: Well, we did get off to a bit of a bad start. Of course, you remember that. Troy: You mean when you tried to smother me with a pillow. And here I thought you were just flirting with me all this time. Lindsay: I tripped. Troy: Well, now I've gotten to know you a little better, Lindsay. Lindsay: Good. Troy: Good enough to know that you don't do anything by accident. Lindsay: I honestly did believe you were Colin. Troy: I see. And what about tonight? You think I should have the waiter test my food first? Lindsay: Now I know you're not him. ********************* Sam: You remember Matthew’s birth? Nora: I remember him being in the I.C.U. and I remember being able to hold him for the first time. Oh, that sweet little face. Sam: I was right there. Nora: I know. You were right there with me, right beside me. I remember. I remember how we named him and how he smelled and how tiny he was. He was so tiny. And I remember you. And I remember loving you. Sam: Oh, Nora. Oh, Nora, this is so wonderful. This is so incredible. But why didn't you tell me? Why did you keep this from me? Does this have something to do with Troy? It does. Nora: It's why I was at his loft. He was giving me this experimental memory recovery treatment, and -- oh, God, Sam -- oh, please don't be angry. Sam: How could I be angry? You've recovered so much of your memory, how could I be angry? Nora: But you are, aren't you? Sam: No. No, I just -- I just wish I had known. It's -- it just scares me that you did this by yourself. Nora: Troy would never, ever have given me a drug that would've affected my health or my life. Are we back at square one? ********************* Alex: So you wouldn't let me have the captain, you won't let me see the colonel. What's going on here? Is he -- is he poor? Is he married? Is he gay? Because that's really not a problem. Nigel: Do spare me the sordid details. Alex: What is wrong with him? Nigel: He's a woman. Alex: Oh. Nigel: Why don't you scatter Mr. Buchanan's ashes and worry about the poor colonel later? Alex: I -- I left his ashes. I -- I left them outside. Nigel: Oh. No, I'll get them. Alex: No, I will get them. I will get them! I will get them! Nigel: Don't go in there, Madam! He's highly contagious! [Alex screams] ********************* Todd: Ok, I kind of made a little mistake with the baby, but it's got a happy ending because I fixed everything. And now everything's going to be all right from now on. Blair: What is it, Todd? Cassie: I'm so sorry. Todd: What do you want? Cassie: Has anyone seen my purse around here? Blair: Are you still looking for your bag every time? Cassie: Uh-huh. Todd: Did the Swiss teach you nothing? You know what? I'm going to wait until this isn't a house full of women, and then maybe I can spend some time alone with you, and then I’ll give you your damn present! Cassie: Wow. I am not the only one who hasn't changed around here. Blair: No, no, no, no. Todd has changed. It's just not visible to the naked eye. Cassie: And you, Sweetheart, are still hopelessly in love with him. Blair: I can't help it. I always will be. Cassie: All right. Then I’m glad you found your way back to each other. Blair: Thank you. Cassie: So why's he so worked up about this present? Blair: I don't know. But whatever it is, it can't replace the baby that we lost. ********************* Starr: You're funny looking, you know that? You know, when somebody sticks your tongue out at you, you're supposed to stick out your tongue back. Where'd you come from anyway? Todd: Starr, what the hell are you doing in here? Starr: Daddy, it's a baby! Can we keep it? Todd: Shh! Starr -- Starr: Oh, my gosh. Is it my baby brother? Oh, my gosh. It is! Oh! I knew it! I knew it! Oh, my gosh. I can't wait to tell Mommy! Todd: Starr, listen to me. Calm down. Starr: No. But Mommy is going to be so excited! Get out of my way. Mommy, guess what! ********************* Nigel: Sir? Alex: Asa's on fire. Nigel: Sir? If you're still in the lavatory, please remain there. There's a woman in your room. She may not understand the kind of relationship you have with your dear brother. Alex: Nigel, do you see what I see? Nigel: It appears to be a cigar. Alex: It's not a cigar. It's a sign. Nigel: A sign? Alex: From Asa. It's a message, a portent. It's Asa! Nigel: Madam -- Alex: He's saying that I’m doing the right thing! Nigel: Oh, I see -- Alex: Oh, Darling, I hear you! And I will scatter your ashes, and I will find your murderers, and I will get your will overturned if it's the last thing I do! Nigel: Oh, yes -- no, I'm feeling it now. You must go right away. Scatter the master on the beach. Alex: Well, aren't you going to come? I mean, he wants you there. Nigel: Tell him I’m on my way. I just need to find the captain before someone else does. [Alex coughs] Nigel: Oh. Alex: Oh. Oh! Oh. Oh. ********************* Keri: Don't ever follow me like that again. You freaked me out. R.J.: I just wanted to see you, and I -- I didn't think you would take a phone call. Keri: So, what, you thought you would get me alone on the docks in the middle of the night and, what, I'd have coffee with you? R.J.: Well, now, that sure sounds like a no. Keri: You know, whenever I would ask my mom about my real father, she would always tell me to drop it and then she would disappear for hours. Now I know why. R.J.: Sounds like Henry has been giving you the highlights of my illustrious career. Keri: No, as a matter of fact, Hank is not the one who filled me in about you. R.J.: Keri, the first thing you should know about me is that I did not abandon your mother or you. I didn't know you existed and -- maybe if I’d known you when you were a child, then -- then things would've been different. Keri: I might've been in reform school. R.J.: Keri, I'm trying to ask for a chance to get to know you. I want to know my daughter. ********************* Todd: I will take my hand off of your mouth if you swear to me that you won't say anything. Starr: [Muffled voice] All right. Todd: All right. Todd: We can't tell your mother about the baby. Starr: [Normal voice] Why not? Can't we keep him? Todd: Maybe. It's just that I need to tell your mother some things, and I can't tell her -- well, I can't tell you until after I tell her. Starr: Why not? Todd: Because you won't keep your mouth shut. Starr: Well, Mommy can't, either! Todd: That's not saying much. Look, you don't just announce to somebody that there's a new kid. It's an idea that I got to get your mother kind of used to first. Starr: Mommy let me keep a toad that I found. Todd: Yeah, well, a toad's just, you know, completely different from a baby. Starr: But Mommy wants a baby. Todd: Look, Starr, it's a big day for your mother, ok? She's getting married. I don't want to just spring it on her that there's a new kid. I'll explain it to her, but I got to do it in just the right way. Starr: You're bad at explaining. I can help. Todd: You know, Starr, when I need your help, I’ll ask for it. Starr: Ok. Todd: All right, so this is just our little secret, right? Right? Ok, so, go on now and go get little Renfield and bring it over to Cassie's house, will you? Starr: If you promise that when I come back, I get my baby brother and so does Mom. Todd: Ok, I promise you that you'll have your little brother and your mother will finally have the baby that she's missed so much. ********************* Cassie: Blair, we both know how devastating it is to lose a baby. But you've got to remember that over time it doesn't exactly get better, but it's different. You can't blame yourself for this. Blair: But, Cassie, I lied to Todd. I told him that the baby was Max’s, and then I rubbed his nose in it for months. Cassie: I think he's forgiven you for all that. Blair: I was just so afraid if I told him he would take Starr away from me and then I would be all alone. But you know what? Instead he married me. Cassie: I know! Which proves how much he loves you. You're one lucky lady to have him help you through this. Blair: He's been so incredible. It's -- it's so weird, though. When we were down in Mexico, I kept imagining a baby crying, my baby crying. And now that we're home, Cassie, I -- I still hear it. I mean, I heard it right before the wedding today. Cassie: Well, you're always going to love your baby. He had a soul and a life all his own. No matter how brief that life was, he made a difference. Blair: I love you. Todd: Renfield's leaking. He's all yours. Cassie: Oh. Thanks. Starr: Come on, Cassie, we have to go! Cassie: What? Ok. Starr: Come on! Cassie: Honey, we're going. Blair: Wait, wait, arr. Wait, it's ok. Starr: Mommy, you'll love your present! Cassie: Blair, I’ll see you tomorrow. Blair: Ok, ok. Bye. Wow. This must be some present to get Starr so excited. What is it? A python? Todd: Mm-hmm. It's -- Blair: What? Todd: Something that I hope will make up for all of the weddings that I messed up. Blair: Oh, Todd, none of that matters now. Todd: Hold on. When you told me the truth about the baby that had died, I ran out on you. Blair: No -- I'm so sorry. Todd: No, you -- don't be. I didn't run out because of anything that you did. I ran out because of something that I did. ********************* Nora: Sam -- Sam: You're ok? Nora: Yeah, are you? Sam: No bad side effects? Nora: No. I knew you wouldn't want me to pursue this line of treatment -- Sam: No, no, no. Stop. Stop. It's ok. All that matters is that you're ok. We both made mistakes, and we will both probably make some more. Nora: Oh, well, you can count on it with me. Sam: Lots. Lots more. Nora: I beg your pardon. Sam: Because I plan on spending a lot of time with you, Ms. Buchanan. Nora: Well, then, we'll have a lot of opportunity to get in each other's way. Sam: And underneath each other's skin. Nora: And certainly on each other's nerves. Sam: And I plan to cherish every moment of it. What about Lindsay? Did you remember anything about Lindsay? Nora: Yes and no. I remember her holding the syringe, but I -- I don't remember her injecting me with it. Sam: Too bad. Nora: No. It doesn't matter. Because I got back the really important memories to me. I got back my memories of Matthew and of you. Sam: We're going to make a lot more. Nora: That sounds like fun. Sam: Maybe we should celebrate. Nora: I did happen to make some reservations tonight at the Country Club for dinner. Sam: Oh, you happened to make reservations? Nora: Yeah, just kind of happened. Sam: So you -- you knew we were going to get past this? Nora: Well, I kind of hoped. Sam: I'm not really hungry. Nora: Oh. Sam: But I guess it would be a shame to let good dinner reservations go to waste. ********************* Lindsay: What is that you're wearing around your neck? I've been staring at it all night. Troy: Oh, this? Lindsay: Yeah. Troy: It's a charm. A Masai chief gave it to me. Lindsay: What's it do? Troy: Makes your wishes come true. Lindsay: Does it work? Troy: Absolutely. You want to give it a try? ********************* Keri: I always thought that when I found my father, I'd also find a key to who I am. And now -- R.J.: Keri, maybe you're nothing like me at all -- no habits, traits. Certainly not your profession. I mean, you teach the sociology of crime. That's perfectly poetic, isn't it? Keri: Sort of, yeah. R.J.: You have a great smile. Who knows? Maybe your finding me will give me a reason to look for something good in myself. ********************* Blair: You didn't do anything, Todd. I'm the one that lied to you. I stole your baby, and I thought that you hated me for -- Todd: You didn't -- stop. You didn't steal anything and I didn't hate you, although I thought that I did. And you -- it's just that I was mad at myself. Blair: Why? Todd: Look, when I ran away, it was because I needed to fix something. I needed to make it all right. I needed to -- to make up for something that I had done, and I did. I mean, I wouldn't have come back unless I had. Blair: There's nothing for you to make up, Todd. You have been nothing but loving toward me. Todd: I don't know about that. [Baby cries] Blair: There it is again. Todd: There what is again? Blair: The baby I hear. I hear a baby crying, and he needs me. [Crying stops] Todd: Blair -- come with me. Blair: That's what always happens. I -- I hear a baby crying, and then it suddenly just stopped, it's gone. Todd: It's not -- it's a wedding present. Blair: Oh. ********************* Keri: I don't know if we can do anything for each other. But you are my father, and I did come to Llanview to find you. And you don't know me yet, but one thing about me -- I always see things through. R.J.: Me, too. Keri: I got that from my mother. R.J.: Yeah, I -- I wasn't looking for credit. I'd like to be able to see you sometime -- without having to follow you to the docks and scare you half to death. Can I call you? Can I call you tomorrow? Keri: Ok. R.J.: You're not going to hang up, right? Keri: No. Not unless you deserve it. ********************* Sam: I love seeing that necklace on you. Nora: And I love wearing it. Oh -- I remembered something else about you today. I remembered making love to you. And for the life of me, I just can't figure out how I ever could possibly have forgotten something quite so beautiful. Sam: Ok, I'm canceling the reservations. Nora: Go hang up the coat. Sam: I'll go hang up the coat. Nora: I'll be waiting right here. Sam: I'll be right back. Nora: Fabulous. ********************* Lindsay: That thing can really make wishes come true? Troy: That's right. Hold out your hand. Your left one. It's the one closest to your heart. ********************* Alex: Oh, Asa. I will get every last bit of you, I promise. Wow. I wonder if -- well, better safe than sorry. ********************* Blair: Oh. Hi. Blair: Oh. Oh. ****************************************** >> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "One Life to Live." >> On the next "One Life to Live" -- Blair: Whose baby is it? Todd: He's yours. Lindsay: I wish Nora would stay out of my life. Max: I saw Hank request a warrant for your arrest. Gabrielle: What? Hank: You don't think Max and Gabrielle killed Asa? Alex: Asa?
