Second officer: Freeze! Third officer: Freeze! Hands behind your back! Alex: That cigar -- it's Asa’s cigar. Asa: What in the Sam Hill – Todd: I got a lot of stuff that I got to make up for with you, Blair. Let me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jen: Cristian, are you ok? Cristian? Officer: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. Al: Come on, Jen. Jen: No, I'm not leaving. Antonio: I need you to get her out of here. Al: Jen, we've got to get out of here. Come on. Antonio: Cris? Cris? Come on, man, can you hear me? Cris, I need you to focus. Jen: He's not responding. Antonio: I need some space. Jen: Cristian! Al: Listen; Antonio is trained to deal with this, ok? He is going to help Cris, but he needs room, and we need to make sure that you're ok, all right? Antonio: Cris? Come on, hermanito. You're a hero, man. You caught him. Cris, can you hear me? You caught him. All I need you to do now is wake up, bro, so we can all go home. ------------------------------------------ Gabrielle: We can talk later in a not-so-crowded surrounding. Max: Bo is still in his office. You level with me now. Gabrielle: Yes, but he has his henchmen all over the place, and they're giving me the heebie-jeebies. Max: Bo doesn't have anything on us. If he did, he wouldn't have let us go. Gabrielle: Oh, you know that for sure, do you? Max: And why do you think Todd set us up for this murder? Gabrielle: Do you know, Max, that this could be the third round in Bo's cat and mouse game? Max: There's something you're keeping from me. I want to know what it is. Gabrielle: Not now. Ahem. Max: Yes, now. What is it? Gabrielle: All right, you want to know the truth? Fine. ------------------------------------------ [Tape plays] Max’s voice: Asa should die for what he's done to me. I could have done it right now. I could have strangled the life out of him. Gabrielle's voice: I can't deny that I haven't thought about what our lives might be like if Asa was suddenly out of the way. Max's voice: We'd be a family. Gabrielle's voice: No one would ever suspect that Asa’s death was anything more than a tragic twist of fate. After all, accidents do happen. Max's voice: Yes, they do. Gabrielle's voice: Then, shall we? Max's voice: Yes, I say we kill Asa tonight. [Tape stops] Bo: What do you think? Hank: I think we have more than enough to put those two away. ------------------------------------------ Alex: [Chanting] Spirit Asa appear to me. Alex: [Normal voice] Oh, I wish I could call him forth one more time. I guess he's tired. These are my beloved husband's ashes. That was so strange. The smell of his cigar was so strong. My stay is being paid for by my late husband's estate, and I’m here to spread his ashes all over this island that we loved so much. Fly: Must be a difficult time. Alex: It is. But that massage you gave me did a world of difference. There will be a sizable tip included in my bill for you when I check out. Fly: Must be my day. Capt. Stuart next door, he slipped me a 50 after his massage. Alex: How generous. What is Capt. Stuart captain of? Airplane, ship? I know the army doesn't pay enough for him to afford this place. Fly: I believe he's head of some sort of corporation or something. Alex: Really? Was he here with a Mrs. Stuart? ------------------------------------------ Nigel: Capt. Stuart, what are you doing? Asa: I'm about to give this perfume-soaked dame next door a piece of my mind. Nigel: Do you really think that's wise, Sir? Asa: Nigel, I own this damn island. Nigel: Beg pardon, Sir, but Asa Buchanan owns this island, at least until the transfer to you as Capt. Stuart is official. Asa: I know that, damn it! That's the reason I had to do this myself. Nigel: But getting into an altercation with another guest -- I thought we were going to keep a low profile. After all, you are supposed to be dead. Asa: The only dead meat around here will be this loud-mouthed bimbo next door. ------------------------------------------ Todd: I guess all that scheming tired her out. Blair: It's wonderful to see her so happy and peaceful. Todd: Yeah. Blair: I'm happy, too, Todd. Todd: Ok. Blair: I'm glad you stopped us from getting on the plane to Switzerland. Todd: Yeah, well, you know, it's one thing banking there, but I never want to see you in a Heidi outfit. Blair: Or, you know, here me yodel. [Blair yodels] Todd: Blair, you know, sometimes -- [Phone rings] Blair: Well, saved by the bell. Todd: What? Yeah, we're on our way and everything is set. Don't ever call me again. Newspaper, you know? They can't write one trashy headline without bothering me. Blair: That was not the newspaper. Todd: Yes, it was. Blair: No, it -- no, it wasn’t. What are you planning, Todd? Todd: I don't know what you're talking about. Blair: Oh, no. What have I done? What have I -- trusting you again? Todd: Well, Blair -- Blair: What have you got waiting for me at home when I get there? Is it a firing squad? An arrest warrant? What? Todd: It's a secret. Blair: Ok. Driver, stop the car and let us out. Todd: No, can't do that. Blair: Stop the -- well, wait. What are you doing? What are you doing, Todd? ------------------------------------------ Antonio: Come on, Cris. We're all here. We're all safe. Al: Jen, we have to get out. Jen: No, I won't leave him. Al: The cops want us to leave here. Jen: What's wrong with him? Why isn't he moving? Antonio: He's all right. His pulse is strong. Jen: No, he needs help. He needs a doctor. Who has a cell phone? Antonio: The ambulance is on its way. It'll be here any minute. Jen: Cris, you have to be ok. You have to wake up and be ok. Antonio: And I need you to let Al take you to your hotel. Paramedic: All right, everybody, out of the way. Second paramedic: Move it. Antonio: Listen to me, his pulse is strong. His breathing's a little shallow. This is my brother. You take good care of him. Paramedic: We got it. Get his pulse. Jen: I don't understand what happened. After everything he did to me, why did he save my life today? Antonio: It wasn't just today. He's been -- he's been trying to save your life from this creep all along. ------------------------------------------ Blair: Ok, tell him to stop the car, unlock the doors, and let us out. Todd: I can't do that. Blair: Oh, you mean you can't do that. Todd: Right. Well, if that's the way you want to put it, sure. Blair: Todd, this is kidnapping, abduction, physical restraint. Todd: You need to relax, Blair. Blair: You need to shut up! Starr: What's wrong? Todd: Nothing. Blair: Don't lie to her. Starr: About what? Todd: Your mother thinks that I’m being a rat just because I was a rat before. Starr: I like rats. They're cute. Todd: Don't upset the kid. Blair: But it's ok to upset me? Todd: I don't know what you're freaking out about. Blair: I'm freaking out because you always lie to me, Todd. Todd: Hey, I wasn't lying to you when I said that I wanted to make up for all of the stuff that I’ve done. Blair: Oh, is that a fact? Todd: And I wasn't lying to you when I said that I wanted you back. Blair: Ok, prove it. Stop the car and let me out. Todd: I can't let you out because if I let you out, then you're going to run away, and I'm going to have to chase you and I may not catch you. And even if I do catch you, I may not get you to listen to me, and you could miss out on happiness. Blair: Oh. You don't even believe in happiness, Todd. Todd: Ok, well, no, I know that I don't, but that doesn't stop me from sometimes wanting to know what it is. Blair: Oh, well, you know what? You go find yourself a new patsy. Todd: This is a chance with us -- and I mean, all of us -- all of us finally together. It's a chance for me to figure out what everybody's such a sucker for. Blair: Happiness? Todd: Yeah. Look, Blair, I’m not asking you to trust me for the rest of your life, just for the next 10 minutes, just until we get home. Blair: What's waiting for me when I get there? Todd: I can't tell you that. Blair: Oh, man. Todd: It's nothing bad, though. Blair: So much for trust. Todd: Nothing is going to happen that you don't want to happen. Paramedic: We have a head trauma. 22-year-old male involved in an altercation. Second paramedic: Positive l.O.C. G.C.S., 13, B.P. 100/80. Respirations 16, pulse 70. Nurse: 17's open. Doctor: I want x-rays, stat. Jen: Antonio. Antonio: Jen, you were supposed to wait at your hotel. Jen: I can't, not with Cristian here. I still don't understand. What do you mean that he was trying to save me all along? Antonio: Exactly what I said. Jen: But he came to New York long before I won that modeling contest, when he broke up with me when he was with those other girls. What's going on? Tell me the truth. Doctor: Are you next of kin? Antonio: That would be me. He's my brother. How is he? Doctor: He's still unconscious. He's in pretty bad shape. That was some beating he took. Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, well, can I see him? Doctor: Sure. I'm going to need some background information. Antonio: Anything you need, Doctor. Jen: Antonio? Antonio: Look, Jen, when Cris comes to, he'll explain everything. Jen: I don't need him to explain, just let him be ok. ------------------------------------------ Gabrielle: I have already told you some of my reasons why I believe that Todd is behind this. Max: Yeah, Todd hates me, he hated Asa, but not enough to kill Asa and not enough to frame us for the murder. Gabrielle: Are you sure about that? Max: There's something you're not telling me, and I want to know what it is. Gabrielle: Max, remember when I confessed to you that plan of Asa’s to fake his death and then pin it on you? Max: Yeah, but it wasn't fake. We saw the body. The coroner did an autopsy. You had the body cremated. Gabrielle: I know, I know, I know, but what if Todd were part of the original plot? I don't know any of the details, but whatever they were, Asa could not have carried it out by himself. He would have needed an accomplice. Max: Todd. Gabrielle: Yes. Well, I mean, especially if Asa presented it to Todd as a way to hurt you. And then the death didn't really happen, so Todd made it into a real one. Max: Why? Gabrielle: I don't know. Why does ToddMmanning do anything that he does? Perhaps it was a way to make these charges really stick. Max: And he pinned a murder on both of us because -- Gabrielle: I don't know. Maybe I was part of Asa’s plan all along, or perhaps Todd didn't know how much I really knew and so he wanted to get me out of the way as a precaution? I don't know. Max: Why didn't you mention this to me before? Gabrielle: Max, because I’m only just putting it together now. It's only just coming together, but it makes sense, doesn't it? No, no, where are you going? Max: I'm going to go have a little talk with Todd. I'm going to get the truth one way or another. ------------------------------------------ Bo: If Pa knew max and Gabrielle’s plans, why didn't he ask for help? Hank: Maybe he thought he could handle them himself. Bo: Yeah, maybe he did. But they just said right here on this tape that they were going to kill him that night. Now, Pa wouldn't have let his guard down. I mean, he's not a dummy. Hank: No, no, but everybody slips up every now and then, Bo. Bo: Yeah, slips up, but he still managed to get all of this stuff to me? How? Maybe he had help. Hank: I don't know. Beats me. But, hey, knowing you, you'll find out. Bo: Oh, you bet I will. Hank: Regardless, the evidence clearly points to Max and Gabrielle. Bo: I agree. I don't want them skipping town. Hank: Don't you worry about that. They won't. You've got my word on it. ------------------------------------------ Nigel: Please, sir, it's too risky. Asa: Don't touch my hand. Nigel: If you make trouble with this guest, who knows what the results could be? Your true identity could be discovered. Asa: My hand. Nigel: Haven't I always watched out for you? Asa: So? What about it? Nigel: You worked so hard setting this up. You faked your death with that coma-inducing drug, you bribed the coroner to conduct a phony autopsy and the funeral home to hand over an urn full of ashes -- and I do wonder whose -- you planted evidence to implicate Mr. Holden and Mrs. Buchanan, and soon you will have sole ownership of this island. You can throw everybody else off. Do you really want to risk that all over some loudmouth woman who probably will be checking out of here in a day or two anyway? Asa: I want that woman out now! Nigel: At what cost? If the truth were to come out, the legal ramifications would be horrific -- and not just for you, for me, as well, your ever-loyal accessory before, during, and after the fact. Asa: Relax, Nigel. I will not let anything happen to you. Nigel: And I appreciate that, Sir. But you may not be able to stop it. The police are involved. Insurance policies are being paid out. Your family has been put through sheer purgatory, sir. They might, perhaps, be, shall we say, annoyed. Asa: They deserved it after what they put me through. Nigel: Are you sure? Ms. Divine fell apart when she heard of your demise. I have never seen such upset. And from all reports, the funeral was ever so moving. Asa: I wanted to see it, damn it! I told you to videotape it for me! Nigel: It didn't seem quite appropriate, sir. Asa: I don't give a damn about appropriate. Nigel: And while we're discussing choices that would not necessarily be the wisest, I must say I worry about the decision to frame Mrs. Buchanan as well as Mr. Holden. Asa: Really? Gabrielle Medina and Holden were plotting to do me in for real. Now, you want me to let a two-face, backstabbing, money-grabbing fake of a wife get away with that? Nigel: I'm just saying that the original plan was so much simpler, so much cleaner. Asa: I let my guard down, Nigel. I didn't realize this fortune hunter had a soft spot for Holden. He sucked her in and turned her into a killer. Nigel: A potential killer, Sir. You aren't really dead. Asa: Right. But they will be. I planted enough evidence around to make sure of that -- the inheritances, the poison up at the lodge, the surprise package for Bo. Nigel: Yes, you've been most thorough. Asa: And those two are going to pay and pay to even think they could ever bring down Asa Buchanan. Nigel: Uh -- no real names, sir, please. No. Shh, shh, shh. ------------------------------------------ Alex: You know, I can be very generous, too. I am prepared to double the size of Capt. Stuart's tip, but you'll have to do one little, itty-bitty favor for me first. ------------------------------------------ Blair: Wait, wait, wait! Wait. I'm not ready. Starr: For what? Blair: For whatever your daddy has behind those doors for me. Todd: No, it's a good thing. Blair: Oh. One man's good is another man's disaster. Todd: Trust me, you'll like this. Blair: Tell that to my heart and to my palms. Starr: Your palms? I don't get it. Todd: Your mother gets sweaty palms when she's nervous. Blair: Nervous? I feel like I'm going to faint. Todd: Well, we better get you inside, then, before you faint out here. Blair: Oh, my God. ------------------------------------------ Jen: Why isn't Antonio coming out? Why aren't they telling us anything? Al: It hasn't been that long, Jen. Jen: I just have to know that Cristian’s ok. Al: He's going to be fine, Jen. He's a tough guy -- I should know. Jen: You said that you saw him before he came in my dressing room. Al: Yeah. Jen: Did he tell you why he was there? Al: He just said that that Schaeffer guy was going to hurt you. There really wasn't a lot of time for questions. Jen: Until now. He's got to pull through. He's just got to. ------------------------------------------ Gabrielle: Don't do anything stupid. We can't let Todd know that we're onto him yet. Max: He's messed with me for the last time. Gabrielle: No, no, no, no, no. No, we have to let him think that his plan is still working so that we have enough time to get ourselves out of this nightmare. Max: We are going to get ourselves out of this. Gabrielle: And we need time to figure out how to put that lunatic away for putting us in this position in the first place. Max: I can't continue to let him railroad us like this. Gabrielle: Max, what if I’m wrong? I don't have any proof of this. Max: Seen the afternoon edition? There's your proof, ok? Look. You were right. Who else besides Todd could come up with a scheme like this? Gabrielle: I know, I know. It's very Todd-like, but -- Max: No, Gabrielle, the longer we let this continue, the harder it's going to be for us to dig our way out of this. Gabrielle: Ok, ok. But let me be the one to confront him first. Max: Now, what good will that do? Gabrielle: Because the two of you can't stand each other and you'll get into a fistfight or something. At least he's neutral with me and I can talk to him and get the truth out of him. Hank: Are you two taking up permanent residence? Max: Catch the way he looked at us? Gabrielle: Yes, I did, and I didn't like it at all. Max: I don't like him at all. You talk to Todd. I'm going to find out what our eminent District Attorney is up to. Gabrielle: Max – ------------------------------------------ Blair: What is this? And what is going on here? Todd: What's going on here is we're going to get married. If you'll put up with me. Starr: Of course she'll put up with you! Right, Mommy? Blair: I don't know what to say. Todd: You're not going to make me get down on my knees, are you? Sam: He'll do whatever it takes. Blair: It's just so -- so sudden, Todd, you know. One minute, I'm fleeing the country, and the next -- Sam: Spontaneity is a really good thing. Viki: And given what happened at the two weddings that you two planned, the romanticized atmosphere of an impromptu wedding might be better. Starr: I say go for it. Andrew: We all know that third time's a charm. Blair: You're all here, but I -- I can't marry you, Todd. I don't have a dress. My hair is not done. Shoes. I mean, who's going to stand up for me? Kelly: We are. Cassie: We're here! Blair: My God! Oh! Blair: Oh, it is so good to see the both of you. Cassie: Thank Todd. He's the one who put out the call. Kelly: He was very hard to turn down. Blair: Thank you, Todd. Cassie: Mother wanted to be here, too, but she and Drake are hosting a big benefit in Zurich. However, she sent these along for you to wear. Something old. Blair: Ooh. This is -- this is her favorite. Cassie: Yes, but she also wanted it very clear that they're your "something borrowed." Blair: Well, I don't think she's going to get this back. Kelly: Honey, listen, I -- I wanted to say that I'm sorry that I couldn't be there for you when you lost the baby. I wanted to fly down there. You know that, right? Blair: I know, I know, Sweetheart. It just meant a lot that I could talk to you on the phone. Kelly: Ok. Cassie: When it happened to me, I -- you know, it must've been awful being alone in some remote Mexican village. Blair: Well, if things had been handled differently, our son would still be here. Kelly: Now, that's enough of that. Cassie: Absolutely. This is your wedding day. Blair: Yes, it is! And Todd promised that it was going to be a happy day and you have not disappointed me yet. Todd: The day is young. Andrew: I'm sorry to break up this reunion, but I need a word with the bride and the groom -- Blair: Ok. Andrew: About the ceremony. Blair: All right. Here you go, and I’ll go over there. Then we'll come back and -- Kelly: We'll get you dressed. Blair: Yes! Yes, yes, oh, excuse me. I'm so excited! ------------------------------------------ Cassie: Blair is so happy. Kelly: Yes, and with Todd, who would have thought? Cassie: I guess sometimes people really are meant to be together. Kelly: Yeah, I believe that. Cassie: So, how's Kevin? Kelly: Good. Good. He loves it in Houston, we both do. He can see Duke all the time now. Cassie: That is so important. You can't imagine how much I miss river. Phone calls, a card, an occasional visit -- it's not the same thing. Kelly: God, I guess not. Have you seen River this trip? Cassie: Briefly, but after the wedding I'm going to take River and stay at the millhouse while Andrew’s out of town. Kelly: Oh, good. That's good. Cassie: I'm happy for you, Kelly. For both of you. Kelly: Well, you know what? I know that Kevin is going to be very happy to find out you're doing so well. He still cares about you a lot. Cassie: I -- I still care about him. Please give him my best? Kelly: I will. Cassie: There've been so many times over these past few years once I got out of the hospital that I had wished things could've been different. Kelly: Well, you know what? I guess that is only natural. Cassie: But if -- if we couldn't be together, I mean it, Kelly, I am really happy for you. He's a good man. ------------------------------------------ Todd: It's all going ok, right? Sam: Yeah, it's going great. I never thought you could pull it off so fabulously but you did. And I have never seen anyone as surprised as Blair. Todd: Huh. You think she's surprised now. Wait till she sees the surprise I got planned for her after the ceremony. ------------------------------------------ [Hedy hums] ------------------------------------------ Gabrielle’s voice: Then shall we? Max's voice: Yes, I say we kill Asa tonight. [Tape stops] [Knock on door] Bo: Yeah, come on in. Officer: Commissioner? Bo: Yeah. Officer: Sir, I thought you'd want to know Mrs. Buchanan just hightailed it out of the station house. Bo: She's been out there all this time? Officer: Yeah, she and Holden both. Bo: What about the tail that I ordered on each of them? Officer: Well, Hastings is on her. Bo: Ok, well, what about Holden? Officer: He's still in the squad room. Bo: Ok. [Door closes] Bo: Why? What the hell are they up to now? ------------------------------------------ Hank: Jerry? Jerry: Yes, sir? Hank: I want you to draw up arrest warrants for Max Holden and Gabrielle Medina Buchanan. Jerry: And the charges? Hank: Murder one, Asa Buchanan. ------------------------------------------ Asa: Give me back the damn key. Nigel: I'm sorry, sir, but part of my job has been to protect you, and sometimes even from yourself. Asa: You better start thinking about protecting yourself. Nigel: Whatever you say, sir. Asa: I'm serious, Nigel. Nigel: We seem to have been fortunate no one was out there to hear you bellow your name. Asa: Who the hell cares? The mention of my name puts the fear of God in anyone on this damn island. ------------------------------------------ Alex: Oh, Asa, I feel your presence so strongly. It's like you're right here with me in this place that we loved so much. I know you want me to get on with spreading your ashes and I will, Darling, as soon as I can. [Knock on door] Alex: That was quick. Alex: Hi. Fly: Hi. Here's the key. But you didn't get it from me, ok? Alex: Don't worry; I’m not going to do anything awful with it. Just a little "Oops, I'm in the wrong room" routine. Oh. Thank you. Shoo, Fly. ------------------------------------------ Viki: I'm just so sorry that Kevin couldn't come up as well. Kelly: I know. One of us has to earn a living. Viki: He seems to be doing very, very well at the paper. I'm proud of him. Kelly: Oh, gosh, so am I. Ben: Well, we've seen your name on a few of the bylines from down there, too. Kelly: Yeah, you know, trying my best. Viki: And you both really like living in Houston, right? Kelly: Well, it's different than Llanview, but, yeah, yeah, we do. Viki: Good, good. Kelly: Ok, I almost forgot. This is from Duke. He made me promise to give it to his grandma personally. Viki: How sweet. You and I are going to have to go down and visit my grandson before he grows up and goes to college or something. Ben: Whatever you want. Viki: Oh. That's -- that's sweet! Kelly: He made it himself. Viki: I'm going to call him later and thank him. Kelly: He will love that. So -- Viki: He's a dear. Kelly: What's going on with this Natalie person? Is Jessica ok, because Kevin and I keep trying to call her and we keep getting her voice mail. Viki: She's in New York just for a few days. Kelly: Are you really all right with everything? Viki: It was very upsetting for all of us, but, you know, we'll get through it, yeah. Ok, here's the groom. Todd: Where the hell is Blair? Andrew: I think she went upstairs with Cassie to change. ------------------------------------------ Starr: So, how do you like it? Gabrielle: Oh, well, I think that dress is much more flattering than the nun's costume you wore on Halloween. Excuse me. Starr: No, stupid. I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about the limo. Do you like how I drew all those pictures on the windows? And how I tied all those shoes on it? Gabrielle: Does your mother realize how rude you are? I think the idea with the old shoes tied on to the back is they're meant to be old shoes, not new $500 pumps. Starr: What are you doing here? Gabrielle: I'm here to see your father. Starr: Well, sorry, he's busy getting married. Gabrielle: He's getting what? Starr: You're not invited Gabrielle: Married to whom? Starr: My mother. Gabrielle: Oh, really? Oh, we'll see about that, won't we? ------------------------------------------ Hedy: Mr. Manning. Todd: Everything ok in here? Hedy: Oh, couldn't be better. You're a little angel, aren't you? Todd: Hey, if anybody sees you -- Hedy: Yeah, yeah. I know. If they do, I'm the new maid. Todd: Maid. Hedy: I remember. Todd: Uh-huh. Todd: How you doing? Look, I know things have been chaotic around here, but it's going to calm down. You know, I look at you, and I don't know how I ever managed to tell your mother that you were dead. Probably shouldn't have given you away, either. Hey, but I brought you back. That's got to count for something. It's just that, you know, when I found out that you were mine, the idea of you being out there with strangers -- that just made me crazy. [Baby coughs] Todd: Aw. Wait till your mom sees you. Yeah, I know you don't want to wait, but trust me. One surprise at a time. ------------------------------------------ Jen: How's Cristian? What did the doctor say? Antonio: He's awake. He's -- he's got a severe concussion, but the CAT scan didn't show anything worse. Jen: Can I go in? Antonio: I guess. Jen? He's still pretty out of it. Jen: I won't be long. You've clearly gone through with it, haven't you? Todd: Don't know what you're talking about. Gabrielle: Oh, yes, you do. Yes, you do, and I’ve got news for you.
