>> Previously on "One Life To Live" --

Cristian: I followed him to the park. He's with the guy who mugged me right now.

Ben: I'm not going to back off Allison Perkins till I find out what her plan is.

Natalie: Why are you sticking up for Jessica?

Melanie: This whole thing was one giant mistake.

Lindsay: The only mistake you made was getting caught.

Bo: She tried to manipulate me.

Nora: I think you need to cut her some slack.

Today's Episode:

Melanie: Lindsay, be serious.

Lindsay: I am.

Melanie: It'll happen if I'm dying? Don't even go there.

Lindsay: You want something that will work or not?

Melanie: I'm not going to put my wedding dress on and tell everybody I'm going to drown myself in the Llantano River --

Lindsay: Not that kind of dying. That would be silly. Besides, when I did it, it was kind of unique.

Melanie: No. It was crazy. And, of course, I'm the only one that bought it.

Lindsay: I'm not saying that you should imitate me.

Melanie: Thank you.

Lindsay: Especially since what you could do would be so much more effective.

Natalie: I found the thing that we were looking for.

Seth: Good.

Natalie: So I’m going to need you to keep Jessica out of the house for a few hours, so that she doesn't know what's missing. Can you do that?

Seth: Does that mean we're almost done?

Natalie: Oh, Seth, we are so close. Our dreams are going to be true so soon. We're going to have whatever we want anytime, in style.

Seth: That's one way to put it.

Natalie: Yeah. Well, another way to put it is that today is the beginning of the end for Jessica.

Jessica: What was that about me?

Rae: Allison?

Allison: Oh, hi, Dr. Cummings.

Rae: Hi. I have some good news.

Allison: What, is it about when I’m going to be released?

Rae: You're leaving here tomorrow afternoon.

[Allison gasps]

Rae: I know.

Allison: Forever?

Rae: It's an unconditional release.

Allison: Oh!

Rae: The board just decided.

Allison: Oh, that's so -- thank you, thank you. Thank you, thank you.

Rae: You're welcome. Congratulations.

Ben: "There's so much I couldn't do from in here. But thankfully a certain someone has been on top of that for me. Now, when I get out, the fun begins."

Allison: What are you doing?

Hank: Are you sure you're looking for me? This is the police commissioner's office. Mine is just down the hall. I'm the D.A.

Keri: I know that. You're Hank Gannon.

Hank: Right. And you're the young woman I bumped into at the student union today.

Keri: Yes, I am.

Hank: And now you're here. Why?

Cristian: It was you, wasn't it?

R.J.: Excuse me?

Cristian: You hired that guy. He's your hit man, and I was his target.

R.J.: I did what?

Cristian: Don't try to play me, R.J. I'm talking about that piece of scum you were just talking to. That's the guy that jumped me in the hospital garage. And when that didn't work, he went to my loft and tried to strangle me. So what'd you tell him? To go back to my place and finish the job?

Jen: Cris? Is that you?

Natalie: Seth was just telling me about the project that the two of you came up with for your second film course.

Jessica: Oh. Love in the movies. Yeah, it should be fun. Well, listen, I promised my mom that I’d go to the cabin and close things up before the first freeze, so I’ll see you guys tonight, maybe?

Natalie: You're leaving right now?

Jessica: Yeah, I have to if I want to be back before dark. You're more than welcome to come with me if you want. It's beautiful. It's on top of Llantano Mountain. The ride is so nice, and it's so nice outside. What do you say?

Seth: I can’t. I have to do some things at the library tonight.

Jessica: Oh, the library. That stinks. It's such a beautiful day. What about you, Natalie?

Natalie: Yeah, sorry, I can’t. I've got to work on so much stuff for your mom.

Jessica: Ok. Looks like I’m going to be all alone, then, huh? All right. I'll see -- oh. Keys -- to the cabin. That would help. I'll be right back.

Natalie: What is with you? I asked you to keep her occupied.

Seth: Yeah. Well, you said to keep her out of the house. She's going to be gone for a couple of hours on the car ride up there, anyway, so just leave me out of it, ok?

Natalie: What did you say?

Seth: Natalie, I’m really tired of doing this. I really am.

Natalie: Well, then, maybe you need to be reminded where you came from -- Angel Square reform school, never having a break. Princess Jessica has had everything in the world handed to her, stuff that we should have had.

Seth: I know.

Natalie: And we're going to be in that league really soon, but not unless we go all the way. Or have you decided that you want to bartend for the rest of your life?

Seth: Jessica is not the person you make her out to be, ok? She can't help it that she grew up rich. I'm really sick of this. I'm sick of lying to her all the time.

Natalie: Do I not count for anything?

Jessica: All right. See you guys later. Have a good day.

Seth: Jessica, wait. There's something I have to tell you.

Ben: Darn. It's not here.

Allison: Dave, I was looking for you earlier. I thought you'd left.

Ben: No, I was right here, Allison.

Allison: What were you looking for?

Ben: That book that Viki Davidson wrote, the one I gave you with the autograph.

Allison: Oh, the book.

Ben: I thought you kept it by your bed, but it wasn't there. Didn't you like it? Why aren't you reading it?

Allison: I finished it already.

Ben: Wow! You read a whole book?

Allison: Yes. And the copy was so special to me because it was from you that I put it in a very safe place.

Ben: It was special?

Allison: Just like you.

Ben: I'm going to go red. Those are pretty.

Allison: Oh, yes, the houses.

Ben: I like this one the best. It's got trees and a pool. I like pools.

Allison: Yes, it's nice. Very nice. I just might have to buy it. What would you think of that?

Keri: I'm a friend of Nora’s. In fact, I’m staying at her house.

Hank: Of course. You're the one she told me about. You know our daughter Rachel.

Keri: We grew up in the same neighborhood. I'm from Chicago.

Hank: Ah. Nora said. So Rachel must have mentioned your name.

Keri: I just took a staff position at Llanview University.

Hank: Oh. Well, that explains why you were at the student union.

Keri: Yeah, I'm in the Sociology department. My special area of interest is criminology.

Hank: Oh. You're that professor. Then you must be here to see Antonio Vega.

Keri: No. I'm here to see you. It's personal.

Bo: You stay where you are. I'm just looking for a file.

Hank: Uh, excuse me. Could you give me a moment with the commissioner?

Bo: Damn it!

Keri: I'll be right outside.

Hank: Thank you. Well, obviously, you're still upset.

Bo: Well, you've got that right.

Hank: My guess is this has something to do with Melanie.

Bo: I was too hard on her, Hank. Way too hard.

Melanie: Lindsay, that's impossible.

Lindsay: Why?

Melanie: I just couldn't do it.

Lindsay: Why not?

Melanie: Why? Because it's so -- it's --

Lindsay: You're a doctor. It's perfect.

Melanie: No, Lindsay. It's outrageous. I mean, what if Bo found out?

Lindsay: You know when you perform surgery, you have so much confidence. Why can't you have that more in your real life?

Melanie: Because this isn't surgery. This is telling lies.

Lindsay: Ah. And sending yourself a wedding gift from an aunt that doesn't exist isn’t. Hmm. Well, don't let your evil sister make you go against your fine-tuned scruples, you know?

Melanie: I didn't say it was evil --

Lindsay: If you have a problem, and it's making you feel uncomfortable, then just don't do it. Lose Bo. Feel better about yourself. That's important, too.

Melanie: Oh, no. I can't lose him.

Lindsay: Well, let me tell you something. It's going to take a miracle for Bo to get past this lying about your aunt business, so you're going to have to act, and you're going to have to act fast or you're going to lose him.

Melanie: Lindsay, you don't think that he'll -- you don't think he'll leave me, do you?

Lindsay: Oh, yeah.

Melanie: No. He can't do that. If he does that, I’ll die. I know I will.

Lindsay: Well, see, then? It won't be much of a lie, will it?

Melanie: Why are you doing this?

Lindsay: Because you need help.

Melanie: You never wanted me and Bo together.

Lindsay: I told you that that's a thing of the past. You are my sister. You are the only family I've got left. I haven't got a chance left at getting Sam back, and Jen hates me.

Melanie: Lindsay --

Lindsay: I suppose there's a little bit of guilt involved. After all, I was the one who told Bo that there is no Aunt Louise.

Melanie: Louise.

Lindsay: Whatever.

Melanie: So you just want to fix things?

Lindsay: You know how people are always saying that I’m so selfish? Well, for once, I'd like to do something where there's nothing in it for me just so I can prove everyone wrong. And, besides, it will work.

Melanie: You think?

Lindsay: I know.

Jen: Cris?

Man: Hey there, cutie pie. Oh, I'm Jimmy. I'm Mr. Gannon's super. Who decided to wreck the door?

Jen: I don't know. I just got here. It wasn't like that earlier.

Jimmy: R.J. ain't going to like shelling out for a job like this.

Jen: No, I guess not.

Jimmy: What's going on in there, anyway?

Jen: I'm setting up a surprise dinner for my friend.

Jimmy: Oh.

Jen: Excuse me.

R.J.: Look, Cristian, I know that you were attacked. I know that someone kicked in the apartment door. I also know no one hires muggers to stalk and kill people.

Cristian: R.J., the guy wanted me dead. And it's the same guy that you were just talking to.

R.J.: Are you trying to tell me that that man is the same man that attacked you?

Cristian: Come on, man. Don't act like you're surprised. He tried to strangle me, just like you told him to.

R.J.: Look, boy, if I wanted you dead, you would be dead.

Cristian: Yeah. Ok. And the fact that you were just talking to him doesn't count, huh?

R.J.: Cristian, in my business, I have to deal with all kinds of people, including one-handed joy riders with fake I.D. schemes. But you know what? This is the first time I have heard anything about someone wanting to kill you.

Cristian: You think I'm going to fall for that, R.J.? Do you actually think that the cops are going to believe you? You tried to have me killed.

R.J.: You're going to have a hard time convincing the cops of that.

Antonio: This cop believes it. And that's all that matters. Don't worry, Cris. The only one who's liable to be killed tonight is you, R.J.

Hank: So, you were hard on Melanie, huh? Well, you've never done that before. Ok, so it's not a good time for Hank's humor.

Bo: No.

Hank: Right. So, how serious is this?

Bo: She made a mistake. That's all she did. I practically hanged her for it.

Hank: You two didn't split up, did you?

Bo: No. I'm sure she's somewhere right now just wondering where we stand.

Hank: Where do you stand?

Bo: I feel like going home and telling her that the wedding is on.

Hank: So? What's stopping you?

Bo: Get your tux pressed, Hank. You are the best man.

Jessica: What do you have to tell me?

Seth: I was just going to tell you that if the offer still stands, I've changed my mind. I'd like to go with you.

Jessica: Ok. Great. Mind-changing is allowed. Cool. Let's go. See you, Natalie.

Natalie: Bye. Have a good time. Yes, Jessica, have a great day. It'll be the last one you have for a long, long time.

Ben: You can buy a big house like that, Allison? I didn't know you were rich.

Allison: I'm not yet. But I will be.

Ben: Like a millionaire?

Allison: What do you think of this one?

Ben: It's nice, too. It's big.

Allison: It's got a big rose garden and a fountain. See? It's got a gazebo on the hill. It almost reminds me of Llanfair.

Ben: I've never seen that.

Allison: You do know what Llanfair is, don't you?

Ben: Well, yeah, it's that house on that road with all the trees, but you can hardly see that house on that road because of all the trees.

Allison: I've been inside those gates. It's so beautiful, just like my house is going to be.

Ben: When you buy your big house, Allison, can I come visit?

Allison: All the time. But you're a real stinker. You were snooping through my things. I wanted to show you these as a surprise.

Ben: I'm sorry, Allison.

Allison: Wait a minute. My diary's gone. It was right there. Where is it?

R.J.: An officer of the law threatening a brother's life. How rare.

Antonio: Care to test me, R.J.?

R.J.: Look, wait a second. I thought you and little brother were on the outs. There must have been some reconciliation. How -- how refreshing.

Cristian: Wait a minute, is that what this is about? You think things are cool between Antonio and me? And suddenly that makes me disloyal to you?

Antonio: Cris --

Cristian: So you gave the order to have me whacked, R.J.

Antonio: Cris, take a walk. This is police business.

Cristian: No, you take a walk. I'm having a private conversation with my boss here.

R.J.: That's good, that's good. It's a little late, but you are persistent. I'll give you that. But if you expect me to believe this brotherly hatred routine now, you are more stupid than my capacity to imagine.

Antonio: If you hired a hit --

R.J.: I hired, ordered, called for nothing! Ok? Now, you boys have a nice chat.

Antonio: Why did you tell him we knew about the hit man? I told you not to let on.

Cristian: What am I supposed to do, huh? I see him talking to the guy, planning how they going to get me next time.

Antonio: Did you actually hear them?

Cristian: No! No, but why else --

Antonio: So what did you do? You walked up to them? Don't you get it? That information gave you power. Now you've got nothing.

Cristian: All right. All right. Ok. Maybe I should have played things cool. But the guy's tried to kill me twice, Antonio. And Jen could have died from that drink.

Antonio: The lab results came back. It was poison, all right. Rat poison.

Cristian: That's it.

Antonio: What are you going to do?

Cristian: I'm going to fix it so he never hurts anyone again.

Antonio: No! You're not going anywhere near R.J.

[phone rings]

Keith: Yeah?

R.J.: It's me. I need to see you, and I mean yesterday.

Keith: Relax, boss.

R.J.: Relax? I'll relax after you get over here. You got me?

Keith: All right. Where?

R.J.: Same place. Where else? And move it!

Cristian: So what am I supposed to do, Antonio, huh? Wait till R.J. tries it again?

Antonio: First of all, lower your voice.

Cristian: Look, I can handle whatever he throws at me, but I am not going to sit around letting him make his next move. Not when Jen can get hurt.

Antonio: I hate it when you get like this, Cris. I'm not sure whether I’m getting through that thick skull of yours.

Cristian: Oh, come on, like you don't have a temper.

Antonio: I want you to start seeing things the way R.J. would. He knows we're on to him. He's not stupid. He's not going to try anything now.

Cristian: Well, maybe not with this guy, but he'll get somebody else.

Antonio: He's not that crazy.

Cristian: You want to bet?

Antonio: Cris, I want you to go home and hang close.

Cristian: Antonio, listen to what you're saying. It's R.J.'s building. Hang close?

Antonio: He knows the building's going to be under surveillance 24/7. I will call the station right now and arrange it myself.

Cristian: Great. I'm supposed to hole up while R.J. walks around, planning his next move.

Antonio: No. That's not the way it's going to work. I just want you to be cool. I'm going to go after the guy that went after you. Once we've got him in custody, we'll turn him.

Cristian: What, and make him give up R.J.?

Antonio: You got it. Murder for hire. Except this time, we'll make it stick. You with me?

Cristian: Like I have a choice.

Antonio: Trust me.

Cristian: You know I do.

Antonio: Good.

Jessica: Oh. Oh, my gosh, you look like something out of a horror flick.

Seth: Yeah, well, I just got done mud-wrestling a 10,000 pound car.

Jessica: Oh, my little car is not 10,000 pounds.

Seth: Ok. 3,000 pounds. It's bigger than I am. That's the point.

Jessica: I haven't seen it this bad in a while. I'm going to look for a towing service.

Seth: All right.

Jessica: Towing service --

Seth: I guess that wasn't the best choice, huh?

Jessica: No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have let you park that far up. I'm telling you, I forgot how messy it gets around here when it rains. No fear. Help is on the way. All right. We'll be back home in no time. Uh-oh.

Seth: What?

Jessica: My phone's completely dead, and I don't think I have my charger. I don’t.

Seth: Can't we just use the phone that's here?

Jessica: In the cabin?

Seth: Yeah.

Jessica: Mom had it taken out.

Seth: So, what do we do now?

Bo: Melanie? What's going on?

Melanie: It's over, Bo. We both know that. Let's not drag it out.

Bo: It's over?

Melanie: You know, I was thinking all afternoon -- I still couldn't figure out why I was so insecure with you. I knew you couldn't tolerate lies, and yet I lied to you, anyway. Talk about self-destructive behavior.

Bo: No, no, look, ok, ok. Just stop packing, all right? You can't just --

Melanie: I want you to realize why I made everything up. It's very important to me. Maybe if you understand why I made up that whole story, it will make things better.

Bo: It was a mistake. People make mistakes all the time.

Melanie: I lied to you, Bo, because I love you. More than anything.

Bo: And I love you, too.

Melanie: I know you do. I know right now you would say, "Come on, let's try it all over again," but we can't. Because it will never be the same. We can never get back to the place where we were. I hurt you -- just like Nora, just like Lindsay. And now I have to live with the consequences.

Bo: No, no, look, no. This is getting blown way out of proportion, ok? I can't even believe this. I don't want you to go.

Melanie: I can't stay, Bo. It will just be too painful, knowing that you look at me and thinking that I'm like Lindsay.

Bo: No, no. You're not a liar, all right? I never should have compared you to Lindsay. I was hung up on a simple mistake, ok? I'm over it.

Melanie: Bo. That was a stupid thing for me to do, and I know that now. But the clock was ticking, and I knew that we wouldn't have enough time, and I just found out that -- I'm sorry.

Bo: No, no, what? You --

Melanie: No.

Bo: No, you said -- what do you mean by that? The clock is ticking?

Melanie: I'm sorry. I'm just upset. I'm just babbling.

Bo: No, no. But you just said you found out about something. Now, what is it?

Melanie: No, it's not important.

Bo: Yes, I think it is important. Just tell me.

Jessica: Ah, see, I told you Ben’s clothes would fit you.

Seth: Yep. You were right. But I think we're going to have to throw mine in the fire.

Jessica: No. It will wash out fine. But you know what? We're not going to starve. So it's a good thing, right?

Seth: Very good because I'm going to have to have my strength if I’m going to go wrestle that car again.

Jessica: Not in Ben’s clean clothes.

Seth: Oh, well, don't worry about that. We spun off most of the mud. I don't think there's much left.

Jessica: Remember, the mud always wins.

Seth: Look at you.

Jessica: What?

Seth: I didn't know you had a horse.

Jessica: Oh. Yeah, that's Almond I'm riding.

Seth: You look right at home on a horse.

Jessica: You see that horse in the background?

Seth: Uh-huh.

Jessica: That's Stanza -- Almond's mother.

Seth: She didn't mind you riding her daughter?

Jessica: No, are you kidding? Stanza was the sweetest mare. You know, when I was about 12, Stanza went into foal with Almond. I helped her give birth.

Seth: Hmm. That's pretty neat.

Jessica: Oh, I'll never forget that. I remember that morning like it was yesterday. It was amazing. My dad and I were exhausted, but we were walking up to the ranch, and we were so excited. My mom had breakfast ready, and that was the first time they let me drink coffee. I miss Stanza.

Jessica: Seth?

Seth: I was just -- I mean, I -- I knew you and your family were close, but being in this place, all these memories --

Jessica: You seem sad. What's the matter?

Officer: All right. I'll be patrolling the building. If you need anything, yell.

Cristian: Ok. Thanks.

Cristian: Wow.

Jen: I want tonight to be perfect for you. Dinner's all set. Candles and -- are you ok?

Cristian: Oh, Jen, I love you.

Jen: Cris?

Cristian: You are so precious to me. Sometimes just holding you and seeing you -- it feels like a dream.

Jen: Well, I'm not a dream. I'm real. And when I look at you, I --

Cristian: What?

Jen: I love you so much, I can taste it.

Cristian: Oh, yeah? What do I taste like?

Jen: Like everything good. Everything that I want.

Cristian: If you want me, you definitely got me. Now and forever.

Ben: You had a diary? What kind?

Allison: Personal.

Ben: I have a blue one that they make me write down every time I take a pill. What color's yours? I'll help you look.

Allison: Never mind. I'll probably find it when I’m packing. I'm always leaving it different places.

Ben: You're packing, Allison?

Allison: I'm getting out of here, Dave. Tomorrow.

Ben: Really?

Allison: Tomorrow afternoon. And it's forever. Unconditional!

Ben: That's -- wow. That's -- that's really -- wow. Well, maybe I could see you more than just when I see you here.

Allison: You can see me all the time. In fact, I was thinking you could come live with me in one of these big houses.

Bo: You said you just found out something. So just -- oh, my God, talk about dense. And thick. You're pregnant, and that's what you meant about "We're running out of time"?

Melanie: No! No, I'm sorry. I wish I were, and then I would have something of yours to -- no, I'm not pregnant.

Bo: All right. Look, I'm not going to push you right now because I know you're upset. We can talk about this some other time. Just promise me one thing, though -- you're not going to leave.

Melanie: I can't stay, Bo. It's just -- all of this is just too painful. We are never going to get married, and this is just the best way to end it quickly.

Bo: Don't I have a say in this?

Melanie: Believe me, later you will understand that this is the best way.

Bo: Stay with me.

Melanie: I can’t.

Bo: Yes, you can.

Melanie: No. You don't know everything.

Bo: Well, then, tell me everything, all right? Just don't hold back anything.

Melanie: No, I can't! I can't! You will never understand!

Bo: Melanie?

Jen: Cris, what happened? I mean, I saw the door.

Cristian: Forget the door. I mean, you know what I realized today? Nothing's safe. Nothing's forever. The only thing real, Jen, is our love.

Jen: Because -- what, of the mugger?

Cristian: No. Because I love you. You know, you can never know the future. All we really know is the moment, the now. I love you so much, Jen. I want you so much.

Jen: I want you, too.

Cristian: I don't think I can wait any longer.

Jen: Then I don't want to.

R.J.: So, tell me, now -- have you completely lost your mind, huh? I hired you to scare a kid out of town. I did not tell you to kill him.

Keith: I know what you told me, R.J.

R.J.: So -- what, have you got a screw loose, man? Now, I've got the cops breathing down my neck because of you! So you take the money I've given you, and you go. You get out of town, and you stay away from Cristian Vega because this thing is off.

Keith: Oh, the hell it is.

Hank: All right. Sorry about that. Come on in. You know, I apologize, but sometimes there's just some calls you have to take.

Keri: I understand, and I appreciate your taking time to talk to me. I think you'll find it -- interesting.

Hank: Yes, well, you said it was a personal matter between us.

Keri: Very much so, yes. You have no idea who I am, do you?

Hank: I just know what you told me. You're a friend of Rachel’s, and you teach at the university.

Keri: I'm your daughter.

Melanie: Bo, I'm sorry. I forgot to --

Bo: Is this what you're looking for? What is this all about, Honey?

Seth: You were right. The mud always wins. I just dug the car deeper, but at least I didn't get any mud on me this time.

Jessica: Oh. Well, that's a good thing.

Seth: You know what? I'm going to go head down the road, and I'm going to call for help the first place I see, ok?

Jessica: The nearest cabin is a mile away. There's nobody there this time of year.

Seth: Well, that was a bad idea, huh?

Jessica: Well, yeah. I think we should just face it -- we're stuck. We're going to be here all night.

Allison: Someone on the outside is setting it all up for me.

Ben: Really? Who?

Allison: I'll tell you tomorrow. Right now, I've got to get packed and get myself presentable for the outside world.

Ben: But you're already so pretty, Allison.

Allison: You think so?

Nun: All visitors have to leave now.

Ben: Yes, Sister. Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Allison.

Allison: Freedom day!

Ben: Good night, Allison.

Allison: Hmm. Good night, Dave.

Ben: "A certain someone has been on top of that for me." But who?

Allison: Hi, it's me. Good news. I'm getting out of here tomorrow.

Natalie: Great. That's terrific. And talk about perfect timing.

Allison: My heart is going like crazy.

Natalie: Why not? This is the start of a new beginning for you and the end of everything Viki cares about.

>> On the next "One Life To Live" --

Ben: I need to talk to you about Allison Perkins.

Keri: Is it such a surprise that I’m your daughter?

Bo: This patient that has leukemia -- is it you?

R.J.: I am not worrying about Cristian.

Lindsay: Well, maybe you ought to worry.
