Joey: I think Sophia understands that I'm with you now. Right, Sophia?

Jessica: I'm so glad you're here with me.

Will: I know.

Nora: I'm worried that if he gets her off and she's lying, how will he feel?

Bo: Dorian, were you with Lindsay at the time of that accident?

[Romantic music plays]

Singer: Who'd have thought...

Kelly: I didn't know it could be like this. It wasn't before, was it? I mean, I don't remember it ever being like this.

Joey: We're older, more experienced. And I'm more in love with you than ever.

Kelly: I feel the same.

[Doorbell rings]

Joey: Oh, they'll go away.

[Knock on door]

[Joey groans]

Joey: All right, I'm coming! Stay here. Don't go anywhere.

Kelly: I will.

Sophia: Hi, Joey. Oh, I hope I'm not interrupting anything.

Singer: I love you for the rest of my days but still it's a mystery how you ever came to me which only proves love moves in mysterious ways love moves in mysterious ways

Jessica: Will? Will?

Will: Yeah, Jess? Yeah, I'm right here. What is it?

Jessica: No.

Will: You all right?

Jessica: Yeah, yeah, I'm ok. I -- I just -- I had another dream. I dreamt that I was still pregnant, and we were in Llanfair up in my attic, getting a crib or something. We were so happy.

Will: Yeah, I've had dreams like that, too.

Jessica: Oh, god. When is it ever going to stop hurting? Will it ever?

Will: Oh, the, uh, the hurting, maybe, but not the memory.

Jessica: I miss my family, but I'm not ready to go back yet.

Will: Jess, we don't need to go anywhere until you're ready, ok? I mean, there's no reason in the world that we should rush back to Llanview.

Nora: Thank you so much, Ben, for watching Matthew. Here. I just felt badly about imposing on Grace. Even though she's living in the house, I've just been doing that too much.

Ben: Yeah, well, that's what family's for.

Nora: Eh.

Ben: It's funny -- I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

Nora: [Chuckles]  It's kind of fun watching you and Grace and Sam get to know each other again.

Ben: Hmm. Seems like our lives have changed overnight.

Nora: They have.

Ben: Yeah. Speaking of Sam, last time I spoke to you, you were pretty worried about him defending Lindsay.

Nora: Oh, not anymore. It seems that Lindsay's finally told Sam the truth about where she was the night of the accident, you know? So if her alibi checks out, Bo will probably be dropping the charges, and that will be a big relief.

Ben: Yeah, for everybody.

Bo: Dorian, was Lindsay with you the night that Jessica was hit?

Sam: Dorian?

Lindsay: Dorian, you remember? I came over and your psychic was here.

Bo: Let Dorian answer herself, ok?

Dorian: Yes, Lindsay, you were here earlier. But then you left, and I have no idea where you went.

Lindsay: What? I was here. You know I was here. Tell them.

Bo: Dorian, what time did Lindsay leave? Do you remember that?

Dorian: I can't say precisely, but I would say it was about 8:00. And I'm really sorry, Bo, but I have no idea where she went or what she did afterwards.

Lindsay: Why are you doing this to me?

Sam: Lindsay --

Lindsay: Why are you lying?

Bo: Stop it, stop it.

Lindsay: You're supposed to be my friend! You liar.

Lindsay: You are such a liar! I was too here, and you know I was here! Why are you telling them I wasn't here? You're supposed to be my friend!

Bo: Come on, Dorian. Let's step outside.

Lindsay: Why, Dorian? Why?

Sam: Hey, hey, hey.

Lindsay: Why?

Bo: So you weren't with Lindsay that night?

Dorian: I wish I could say that I was, but I can't.

Bo: Well, it seemed to me that she expected you to lie for her, Dorian.  Why?

Dorian: How would I know what she expected of me?

Bo: So did you two cook up this little alibi scheme or something? Was this Lindsay's idea?

Dorian: No. No, I swear, Bo, she did not ask me to lie for her. I think she's just really confused about how much time she actually spent here.

Bo: I'm going to see what she has to say about this.

Dorian: Mm-hmm. Just because she's confused doesn't mean that she's guilty. In fact, I'm sure that she's innocent with every fiber of my being. You should be, too. I mean, you know her, Bo. You know that she's incapable of something like this.

[Doorbell rings]

RJ: Man, talk about hot. It must still be 80 degrees out there. So, what happened?

Dorian: I just couldn't make myself lie for her. I just couldn't. I don't know. What have I done? I'm only trying to do what Mel wanted me to. I'm trying to protect my daughter. I'm trying -- please give me strength. I just don't know how much longer I can hold it together.

RJ: Dorian, Dorian, it's ok. Come on, you got to pull yourself together, ok? You can't let them see you like this.

Sam: I've instructed my client not to say another word.

Lindsay: She said that she would vouch for me. She said that she would tell you I was here.

Sam: Lindsay, no.

Lindsay: No, Sam, I didn't do it, and no one believes me. I keep hoping that the truth will come out. I keep thinking that whoever did this is going to get caught or that Jessica's going to remember something or that some new piece of evidence is going to -- everything that happens makes me look more and more guilty. I didn't do this, Bo, I swear. You have to believe me.

Bo: You told me that you have your own good reason for not telling me where you were that night. I hope it's a good one, Lindsay, because you're getting yourself in deeper and deeper here.

Lindsay: I didn't do it. And neither one of you believes me. No one believes me.

Joey: Actually, you are interrupting something, so if you don't mind, please --

Sophia: No, I don't mind, but if that's Kelly in there, there's something that she should know about Dorian.

Kelly: What do I need to know, Sophia?

Sophia: She's been really upset lately.

Kelly: Yeah, ok, Dorian is always upset about something.

Sophia: This time it's different.

Kelly: Different how?

Sophia: Well, she doesn't sleep, she hardly eats anything at all, and today -- today she was a total wreck, I mean, even for Dorian.

Kelly: Look, if there was a problem with Dorian, I'm sure I would know about it.

Sophia: Kelly, she's been hiding it from you and from Blair. And when I left, I saw the police commissioner's car in the driveway, and I don't think the top cop was there on a social call.

Kelly: Maybe I should go.

Joey: Yeah, if Uncle Bo's there, you probably should go.

Kelly: I will call you. Well, if you think I'm going to leave you here alone with him, you got another thing coming.

Sophia: What's the matter, you don't trust him with me?

Kelly: No, I don't trust you with him. I don't trust you, period. So come on, let's go.

Sophia: Joey?

Nora: Hey.

Bo: Hi. What are you doing here so late?

Nora: I'm picking up some documents for the Griswold case.

Bo: Ah.

Nora: What about you? You, um,  getting ready to drop the charges on Lindsay?

Bo: I guess you haven't talked to Sam.

Nora: No. Oh, god, please don't tell me.

Bo: Lindsay's latest alibi fell apart.  Dorian says she was only with Lindsay for -- well, till about 8:00, and then she doesn't know where she was after that.

Nora: Oh, my God, what this must be doing to Sam.

Bo: Yeah.

Nora: When did it get so serious, Bo?

Bo: This case has been serious right from the start.

Nora: Not the case, Bo.  You and Lindsay.

Bo: I don't know.  I guess we never know just how deeply our feelings run for someone until they're sick or in trouble.

Nora: Or up against felony charges.

Bo: Yeah. I've fallen in love with her, Nora.

Sam: Tell you what -- you get some sleep, we'll talk in the morning.

Lindsay: No, we'll talk now. You didn't say one word to me all the way here. We'll talk now.

Sam: Lindsay, when a client lies to me not once but twice about the alibi, you know what I tell 'em? I'm out of here. Get another lawyer.

Lindsay: Sam, if you walk out on me now, I will never recover it. Whatever you think you know about what happened, you know I didn't do this.

Sam: Then why do you keep lying to me?

Lindsay: I'm not lying!

Sam: You are lying! I was with you 14 years, Lindsay. I know you, I know when you're lying, and you're lying.

Lindsay: I am telling you the truth. I was with Dorian that night.

Sam: Well, then that means that Dorian is lying. I don't believe you.

Lindsay: Sam, I'm begging you, I'm begging you, please don't tell Will. Please? If my own child doesn't believe me, I've lost everything. I will have lost everything.

Sam: Lindsay --  Look, if -- and I'm saying "if" -- I continue to represent you -- and I'm not making any promises right now -- I'm too tired -- if I continue to represent you, you know, you're going to have to cut a deal with Hank.

Lindsay: What kind of deal?

Sam: Plead guilty in exchange for a reduced sentence.

Lindsay: Well , do you want me to say that I did it?

Sam: I want you to tell the truth! It's either that or you tell me where you were that night. Think about it, all right, think about it.

Lindsay: Sam -- Sam -- Sam!

RJ: Here you go.

Dorian: No, thank you. it's all because of a minuscule, microscopic strand of D.N.A. That's why Lindsay won't clear herself. Isn't it unbelievable?

RJ: Well, what's D.N.A. got to do with anything?

Dorian: Doesn't really matter.  What matters is that I betrayed her. I told her that I would lie for her, and I ended up lying to her.

RJ: You didn't have any choice.  Remember what Delphina said -- if you get involved, it's Cassie who suffers.

Dorian: And Mel didn't want me to get involved, but -- ha. Could my life be any more ghastly?

RJ: You're damn skippy. You could be in jail.

[Door closes]

Kelly: Dorian. What's going on? Why was Bo here? Are you in some kind of trouble?

Ben: So is Nora pretty upset that you've taken this case?

Sam: Well, she thinks I'm a little too close emotionally.

Ben: Well, how you supposed to walk away from someone you loved and who's begging you to represent her?

Sam: How am I supposed to stay with someone I loved who is lying to me?

Ben: What would you do if she was just another client?

Sam: Ben, she's my ex-wife! She's the mother of two of my children, and her lies -- it's tyin' me into knots!

Ben: Guess that's your way of saying that she could never be just another client.

Sam: I've had plenty of clients that I didn't trust and I managed to defend them and do ok, but this is Lindsay. And this is just the beginning. Who knows what's going to happen next. (Sighs)  It's really taken its toll on me and Nora. You know, every fiber of my being tells me it's not fair to risk what I have with Nora for this, but what's the alternative?  I abandon my ex-wife, the mother of two of my children?  Tell me, am I wrong to in my thinking here?

Ben: I think the only one that can answer that, Chip, is you.

Sam: Oh.., oh, what am I going to do? What the hell I going to do?

Kelly: Well?

Dorian: How did you know Bo was here?

Kelly: Soph. She came all the way over to Joey's to tell me that you were upset.

RJ: Well, I think you can see that your aunt is fine.

Kelly: No, I can't see that, R.J. There's something wrong. I can tell by the way you're acting.

Dorian: Kelly, you're being silly.

Kelly: Dorian, what is going on? Why was Bo here?

Dorian: No big deal. Just something about a case.

Kelly: A case? Dorian, please talk to me.

RJ: Dorian, it's been a long day for you, and you were saying something about wanting to get to bed.

Kelly: R.J., who appointed you her watchdog? Seems to me that you don't want to let her out of your sight.

RJ: What are you talking about? I'm just trying to be a friend. Look, you're the one who's being possessive.

Kelly: Why is he here? Why are you spending so much time with R.J.?

Dorian: Kelly, you are being a watchdog. I'm tired. I'm going to bed. Good night.

RJ: Good night.

Kelly: What do you got on her? What do you want?

RJ: I told you what I want. I want to be her friend. She's always been there for me.

Kelly: I trust you know your way out, R.J.

RJ: You know, if you would put Dorian's needs ahead of yours just once, you won't bother her when she clearly wants to rest.

Kelly: I'll let her rest, R.J., but right now I'd like you to leave.

RJ: Good night, Kelly.

Bo: I think I've actually rendered you speechless.

Nora: Yeah. Yeah, I guess you have.

Bo: Lindsay's gotten under my skin. I'm not sure how.  She's an odd combination of traits. She can be devious one minute and then just totally without guile the next.

Nora: She's lied to you, Bo -- more than once.

Bo: Yeah. But I'll tell you something -- she's really not very good at it. There's an odd kind of an innocence about her.

Nora: Oh, please.

Bo: I know, I know. But she can be -- sometimes she can be just like a little kid that's just begging for attention. I don't -- I don't think she's ever felt truly loved. Certainly not by Sam.

Nora: So, you're in love with her and she lies to you.

Bo: Yeah.

Nora: People lie for a lot of different reasons. Some good, some not so good. I lied to you once, Bo. At the time, I thought I had a good reason. And I hurt you badly.

Bo: Lindsay's lies aren't hurting me, Nora, they're hurting her. She's, uh, doing it to herself, for some reason.

Nora: Well, maybe she's, uh, lying to protect someone else.

Bo: I've sure thought about that a lot. I -- I don't know who.

Nora: Well, maybe somewhere in her twisted thoughts, she, uh, thinks she's doing this for you.

Bo: For me? How could lying about where she was that night help me?

Nora: You know what? I don't really know. I'm just thinking out loud, that's all.

Bo: Nora, I know that you're not, uh, really comfortable with Sam defending Lindsay.

Nora: No. No, I'm not. Because if he goes all-out in this case and invests himself physically and mentally and emotionally, and he loses the case because Lindsay's been lying to him, it'll kill him. It'd kill you, too, wouldn't it?

Bo: Oh, I've survived worse.

Nora: Yeah. She's a lucky girl to have you in her corner. Sure hope she deserves it.

Sophia: Good lord, you scared me. What are you doing, watching the house?

RJ: What were you thinking, sending Kelly over here?

Sophia: Hey, I was worried about Dorian. Kelly seems to have a way with her.

RJ: Oh, yeah. It had nothing to do with you wanting to have your way with Joey Buchanan.

Sophia: You want to know what I want? I want everything that Kelly has -- all the money, all the style, all the power, and Joey Buchanan, too. And I'm going to get it-- all of it. You just watch me.

RJ: Well, listen, I don't give a damn what you want. Don't mess with me. You'll force me to do something that I don't want to do.

Kelly: I don't know. There's something definitely going on. I don't understand why R.J. is spending all his time with Dorian. He's monopolizing her life.

Joey: Why don't you just ask Dorian?

Kelly: I have.

Joey: And?

Kelly: She says it's nothing, which I don't believe. But she is upset about something.

Joey: Well, you are a newswoman, right?

Kelly: Mm-hmm.

Kelly: You know what? I just might do that. So?

Joey: So? What?

Kelly: Where's my present?

Joey: Oh, right. Right, right, right.

Kelly: Joey?

Joey: You know what? The present can wait, because right now there are more important things on the agenda.

Jessica: If you would've told me when we started walking back from dinner that I'd be running around in a meadow chasing fireflies with you -- oh. Why is it so easy with you?

Will: I don't know.

Jessica: I mean, even when I woke up from my coma, I couldn't remember anything, but I was still so comfortable with you.

Will: Yeah, and pretty soon you'll be feeling that comfortable with Cristian.

Jessica: You know, every time I say something nice to you, you don't have to mention Cristian right away. I mean, I remember that I loved -- loved him, but I don't remember how it felt. What's wrong?

Will: Nothing. I just -- I think I'm going to call my dad and, you know, let him know we're ok, see what's going on back home.

Nora: Why did she do it, Sam? Why?

Sam: You talked to Bo.

Nora: Oh, yeah. He's a mess. Like to wring her little neck, what she's doing to the both of you.

Sam: She didn't do it deliberately, Nora.

Nora: No?

Sam: No.

Nora: This is why I didn't want you anywhere near this case, Sam. Not because Lindsay could be guilty, but because she destroys everything that she touches -- people, relationships. All she understands is lies and sabotage. She doesn't know how to operate any other way. Look at what she's doing to you. You're angry, you're frustrated, you're devastated.

Sam: That's enough. Would you just stop? Stop, Nora.

Nora: Look what she's doing to us.

Sam: I told her that I might withdraw from the case.

[Telephone rings]

Sam: Would you get that, please? I -- I can't talk to anybody right now, really.

[Ring]

Nora: Rappaport residence. Yeah, sure, he's right here. It's Will.

Sam: Will?

Will: Dad. Hey.

Sam: Hey, buddy. Uh, how you doing? Where are you?

Will: I'm fine. Everything's good, you know, except the heat. (Laughs)

Sam: Yeah, yeah, I know. It's really hot here, too. How's Jessica? And where are you again?

Will: She's fine. She's good. Um, we're somewhere in Ohio.

(Sam chuckles)

Will: Look, Dad, is there any news on the hit-and-run? Did they catch anybody?

Sam: Nothing conclusive yet, no, really. When you coming home?

Will: I don't know, but not quite yet. But we're ok. We're doing good, ok, so don't worry. Do me a favor, Dad -- will you give Mom my love, please?

Sam: Yeah, I will. I miss you, pal, and, uh we love you.

Will: Yeah, me, too, Dad. All right, bye.

Nora: He's going to find out, Sam. He's going to find out.

(Sam plays his guitar)

Nora: Sam? It's awful late.

Sam: Yeah, I couldn't sleep.

Nora: I hate what this is doing to you. I hate the fact that it's one tearing you up. And I hate it even more that there's nothing I can do.

Sam: Oh, hey, believe me, you're -- you're doing it. Nora, I'm so sorry. I mean, I know this is hard on you. It's hard on both of us, really. I-I- The truth is you're the fire in my life, and if I thought that that flame was in danger in any way --

Nora: Oh, no, no, no. Shh. Listen to me -- listen -- Lindsay drives me crazy, completely around the bend -- I can't deny that -- and I wish to God her involvement in this case, rightly or wrongly, didn't put you in this dilemma. I mean, you are being forced to make decisions that affect your life and the lives of the people you love.

Sam: And that includes you.

Nora: Just -- you know what? You can't worry about me. I don't want you to worry about-- we've come through too much to have this come between us. Trust me, ok? Please? I really want you to know that no matter what you decide, whether you're going to defend her or not, I'm with you, Sam, all right?

Sam: Hey. You know something? I love you for that. I mean, you know, there are other reasons why I love you, but I love you for that. And I know you'll be there no matter what I do, no matter what the consequences. The fact is, is that the decisions I have to make, I have to make alone. And I don't even know where to begin.

Hank: Well, love what you've done to the place. It's really starting to look like home. Why didn't you tell me you decided to move in for good, huh? Listen, Bo, go home. There's a lot more to life than this.

Bo: Yeah, you know, I've heard that, but I figured it was just a dirty rumor.

Hank: Hmm.

Bo: Let me ask you something, Hank. How did you feel when you had to watch R.J. go through all the trouble he was having with the law?

Hank: Not good. Awful, actually. You know, I've been the D.A. for a while, but it's different when it's someone you know, someone you care about and love.

Bo: The other day, John Sykes accused me of losing objectivity. He says he thinks that I just -- I want to see Lindsay cleared.

Hank: Of course you want to see her cleared, and you should. Hey, I want to see her cleared. But that's not the issue, Bo. Listen, none of this has affected how you're doing your job, at least not from where I'm sitting. You've been fair, professional. You haven't rushed to judgment. You're doing what a good cop does.

Bo: Well, thanks for that. How'd you come by all this insight, Hank?

Hank: Always been that way. Listen, I'm serious. You know, you can take a break.

Bo: Yeah, I know. I will.

Hank: Right. Hey -- good night, buddy.

Bo: Good night, my friend.

[Glass shatters]

Lindsay: Yes, hello, this is Lindsay Rappaport. I need you to send a patrol car over right away, as soon as possible. Someone just threw a rock through my window.

Will: Wasn't someone, Mom. It was me.

Jessica: How could you? Your own granddaughter?

Lindsay: I didn't do it, Jessica. I didn't.

Will: No, you pleaded guilty. You killed my baby.

Lindsay: Will, you know I couldn't have done this. I wasn't even there.

Sam: Then where were you, Lindsay?

Lindsay: Sam --

Sam: Where?

Lindsay: I wasn't there. You have to believe me.

Sam: Oh, I do.

Lindsay: You do? You do?

Sam: Sure, I do, Lindsay. Why, it's all here, in black and white.

Lindsay: No, but that's not true. That's not true, Sam.

Bo: Of course it's true, Lindsay. Nobody pleads guilty to a crime that they didn't commit. Isn't that right, Sam?

Lindsay: No. No. Ow! No.

Bo: You took Jessica and Will's baby away from them. You deserve to be alone --

Lindsay: Ow!

Bo: For the rest of your life.

Sam: You do, Lindsay.

Lindsay: No.

Sam: You deserve to be alone --

all: For the rest of your life. You deserve to be alone for the rest of your life. You deserve to be alone --

Lindsay: No! Stop it! Stop it!

All: For the rest of your life.

Lindsay: Stop it! Stop it! No, no, I can explain! I can explain! Wait. Wait. Wait. I can explain.

Jessica: I know Lindsay didn't do this, Dorian. I won't let her pay for what you did. If you don't tell them, I will.

On the next "One Life to Live"

Kelly: Where is it, Sophia?

Sophia: Where's what?

Asa: This is what we've been waiting for.

Rae: I'm here to file a missing person's report -- my husband.

Kevin: Do you still love him?
