Episode #14256 ~ Chase puts Shiloh on notice; Kristina makes plans with Daisy; Alexis confides in Neil.

(This still needs extensive editing)If this were a business problem, it would be obvious. Get rid of shiloh. So, is that still an option? Always. Even though y-you just got arrested? You're -- you're gonna get caught again? You don't care? No. All right. But sam is worried about kristina. Yeah, so am I. Um...
[ Sighs ] ...I keep thinking about this, and I-I come back to the same thing -- if we get rid of shiloh, then... kristina's gonna turn this on herself or even worse. And I don't know if I want that. Understand what I'm saying? I-I-I -- yes, I understand why you and sam want to wait. And that is... your call. You don't agree with it. I think the longer that we wait, the worse this gets.
[ Knock on door ] Hey. I'm sorry. Is this a bad time? Not at all.
[ Sighing ] Okay. Is this about kristina? You want me to back off while you work your con on shiloh? Yeah, I-I mean, I do. Well, I've been thinking about that. I don't -- I don't know -- that's not why I'm here. It turns out that shiloh has some pretty influential followers. Like who? I-I doubt principal schultz would be thrilled to find me making out with my boyfriend on school grounds. Yeah, that's "detective boyfriend" to you. Yeah. I'm not sure how much weight that will carry with schultz. I need to be on my best behavior. When are you not? I really blew it today. I nearly got myself fired.
[ Grunts ] Shiloh would love that -- if I lost my job and had to go crawling back to dawn of day. But you wouldn't, right? No! Not for any reason. I was just leaving. No, you weren'T. You just got here. True. But I'm trying to set clear boundaries. Who needs boundaries? I can live without boundaries. Um... we can talk all about it at our next session. Well, um... you do sessions outside of the office, don't you? I mean, why don't we just grab a booth and you can -- you can bill me for that? Alexis, I don't -- I don't think it's a -- my daughter's in a cult.
[ Sighs ]
[ Door opens ] Ah, whatcha watching? My high-school crush finally asks me out and I have to turn him down. Why do you "have to"? I've been excruciatingly obvious: I have feelings for you, peter, and for a while I thought you felt the same way. Anna: Oh, c'mon, peter. This is your moment... moment for what? Huh? Oh, I'm sorry. I was ignoring you. I-I didn't mean to. I -- peter and I, we had this conversation... uh-huh. ...Like, it was a real conversation. And I think maybe he'll take my advice. I'm sorry. I'm doing it again. Okay, I'm all yours. What?
[ Glass thuds ] Okay. There's something I've wanted to ask you. Maxie, you -- you know I have feelings for you. How would I know that? Because I've told you. No, you haven'T. Not really. I guess I just didn't think you wanted to hear all that. Why did you think I've been spending so much time with you? Yeah, but you've -- okay. Please listen to me and know that I mean this from the bottom of my heart: Maxie jones, I care for you. So much. More than anyone I've ever cared about before. Oh. Yeah.
[ Exhales sharply ] Why didn't you say anything? I don't know. Why didn't you? Because you're the first person that's made me feel this way since nathan, and I was nervous. And then last night, you said you wanted us to live our separate lives. I thought that's what you wanted. No, it's not. No, me neither. Okay. So, where does that leave us? -We bought a house in a neighborhood with a lot of other young couples. Then we noticed something...strange.
I understand that I've trampled on your professional boundaries, and maybe we can use that as a teaser for our next session. Probably should've given you a spoiler alert. Alexis, I -- as a lawyer, I understand the importance of keeping a professional distance. As a mother, I'm freaking out. I've got a few minutes. Sit down. Thank you.
[ Sighs ] Why don't -- why don't we start from the beginning? She was born. She was challenging. She's, uh, a lost soul of sorts. She kind of drifts from place to place. So, when she found something that speaks to her and it had an aspect of volunteering, an aspect of self-help, I thought, "oh, okay, great." And then the deeper she got involved in dawn of day, and then the more money she started giving them, and then they started to encourage her to distance herself from her family, and now I'm really worried that I could lose her. So, what do I do? You do nothing. Wow. Yeah. So, I was thinking. Aww, look at that. This past -- what? Aww, I did that. I mean, not to brag or anything, but --
[ Clicks tongue ] Oh. It's about time those two had a little happiness. I agree.
[ Gasps ] Oh, I'm sorry. What was it that you wanted to ask me? That was nice.
[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Really nice. But it -- it doesn't answer my question. You want an answer? I'll give you one. If you're ready, I'm ready. I think we'd be great together. So do I. So now what? Have dinner with me?
[ Door opens ] Someplace nice. Oh, I'm supposed to meet lulu. She's running late. I could -- lulu: Maxie. I'm so glad that you're still here. Wait. What's wrong? Um, peter, hi. Um... I needed to see you before -- before what? Before I leave port charles. I was just reviewing a session. Seeing one's progress is exhilarating. I have some good news. Yeah? I was able to get ahold of the money I need to join the trust. I'll probably be tending bar for the rest of my life, but... so, I have it. Wow, krissy. That's fantastic. So, when do i get to meet the rest of the people in the trust?
[ Paper rustles ] We'll proceed tonight. Margaux's a member of the dawn of day cult? Well, I doubt that she would call it a cult, but she's definitely one of his followers.
[ Sighs ] That explains why she dropped the assault charges. One minute she was talking about prosecuting me for attempted murder, and then shiloh says that he "forgives" me -- and I was free to go. Yeah, and now she's always around shiloh. She's taking his lead. It explains a lot. This is why her attitude changed because she hated me to begin with. And now that I'm closer to shiloh, all of a sudden, she's nicer to me.
[ Pounds table ] Margaux's been a lo-- she's gone through so much the last six months. Um... I mean, look, she's -- she's had to go -- she's gone through uncovering ugly truths about her -- her parents. She is the exact type of person that shiloh would target. Okay. Well, if the D.A. Wanted to make things difficult for you, she would give information to shiloh. What about your angle? You -- you have any -- any dirt on shiloh? No, I mean, I haven't found anything concrete yet. But the more time I spend with him, the worse it looks. Look, I-I just came here to tell you guys what's going on. I got to get going. No, I get it. I get it. I-I appreciate your update. I'll call you? Be careful. Okay.
[ Door opens, closes ]
[ Sighs ] What are you thinking? I think we're better off eliminating shiloh now -- and dealing with the fallout later.
rocco and i leave tomorrow morning. Wait. What?! A-are you going to see dante? 'Cause I thought the whole point was that he's at some secret wsb location. Uh, anna's here. You could talk to her if you want to. I saw anna, but I'm not gonna put her on the spot. She can't tell me where dante is. Anyway, this isn't about him. Well, I mean, I guess, in a way it is. Just -- this last year has been so incredibly exhausting and so much has changed so quickly. And I kept telling myself that I was keeping up, but... I haven't been. I've been treading water. Everything with ryan, and [Sighs] Dante was gone, and then he was back, and now he's gone again. I just -- I feel like I need a reset, and I don't think I can do that here. Okay, how long are you gonna be gone for? Uh, a week? Or -- or maybe months? I -- the whole point is to not put a timetable on it and just...come back when I'm ready. I get it. I hate it and I'm gonna miss you like crazy, but I understand. Thank you. And I'm sorry. Peter, I'm not giving you any notice. But I was hoping I could take a leave of absence from work. Well, I think I may have to deny that request. You know, if I don't say it enough, I love you. I love you, too. Thank you.
[ Chuckles ] And I've been thinking about the future, and when I do, all I see is you and... robert. Really? Hope I'm not interrupting. No. No, hey, pull up a chair. Did you find something? Took a bit of digging, but I've come up with some stuff on your sister. I hope you don't expect me to pay you for that worthless advice. I just told you my daughter's in a cult, and you tell me to do nothing? How is that helpful? Kristina is, what, in her 20s? 25 going on 15, but yeah, sure. And from what you've explained, it doesn't sound like she's being abused. Not yet. The fact is, kristina is an adult, and she has been for some time now, so she can do whatever she wants. Is that the advice you'd give to people on their way to jonestown, or would you wait until after they drank the purple stuff before you voiced your concern? Alexis, I know what you're going through. No, I don't think you do.
Yes, I do. I've
worked with familiesin similar situations. Cults? Yes. The key to getting kristina out is counterintuitive. You want to go grab her and scream at her and tell her they're taking advantage of her, but she's only gonna resent you. And once she sees you as the enemy... she'll turn even more to dawn of day. So...now do you want to talk about it? Hmm? You said you almost got fired today... everything's fine. I mean, it will be fine. I think. Some parents wanted principal schultz to fire me, but he's supporting me so far. What happened? One of my students -- a really bright and assertive girl -- was bullying a very shy, sensitive boy. I addressed it with the parents. The stepmother defended the girl and insisted she'd done nothing wrong. Fortunately, the mother and the father were more receptive. They talked with the girl, and the bullying stopped. Not seeing how this almost got you fired. There was another incident. I thought the girl had copied answers on a test. I didn't have any proof, but I went to the parents anyway. And they accused me of being biased.
[ Sighs ] Which I want to say, that's impossible. That -- that I would never. But the truth is, I really don't like the stepmother. I mean, she's a total... she's difficult. And maybe... I was looking for my student to be wrong. Maybe I jumped to conclusions. Which is totally unfair and not -- not the kind of teacher -- not the kind of person -- I want to be. It's possible to recover from an error in judgment. I certainly have. Okay. How'd you handle it? I had to admit I was wrong. Learn from the experience so it wouldn't happen again. And, uh, you know, start to rebuild. But this doesn't seem nearly so drastic. I guess I can start by modeling the kind of behavior I want to see in my students. It's my job to make sure they're learning more than reading and math. I want to teach them fairness and tolerance and acceptance of differences.
[ Chuckles ] What? It is really cool seeing how passionate you are about these kids.
[ Chuckles ] Shiloh: Oh, trust me, she's always been that way.
[ Door opens ] Sam: Hello? Sam?
[ Door closes ] Hey, krissy. Hi. [ Chuckles ] How are you? Is shiloh here? Uh, no, he's not, but he'll be back soon. He just had to take care of some things for tonight. Um, is he teaching classes tonight? Uh, it's for a higher-level thing. I can't really talk about it. You get it, right?
[ Chuckles ] No, yeah, of -- of course I get it. I actually had a one-on-one session with him, and I wanted to s-schedule a new one. Really?! Oh, that's awesome! It means so much to me that someone in our family gets what we're doing here. You're seriously okay with it? Absolutely. It's just that you seemed less than thrilled. I mean... I was jealous, you know, which, as you probably know by now, is -- is such a baseline emotion. But, after tonight, I won't have to worry about my standing in the community. Really? So, what exactly is going down tonight?
A fairly obscure case. Probably the reason they never digitized the file. So, it took of bit of digging to come up with the records. And? Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you were the courier who lost mikhailov. Are you certain? Alex was in singapore, posing as a girlfriend for one of the diplomats. We had to fingerprint her for clearance. So, I was in berlin. Yeah. That old man lost his life because I froze.
[ Sighs ] Come on. It was a classic dvx ambush -- two shooters. You couldn't have saved him. Yeah, that's what I heard. I don't believe it then. I don't believe it now.
[ Exhales sharply ] I mean, you know, got to hand it to alex. She really did her research because she certainly made it sound like she was the one that was there when mikhailov died. Come on. Dvx probably gave her all the details.
And she knows you, anna. She knows you're gonna be hard on yourself. I'm back to square one, aren't I? You know, I-I don't know which of my memories are mine and which are alex'S. Oh, god. I just need a minute. I-I'll be right back. What is wrong with you? Lulu needs to regroup. There are statutes and laws and things like family leave that protect her... I'm sorry that I dumped this on you -- no, no, no. You misunderstand. If you need to take some time away from port charles, go, absolutely. But I want you to remain on the staff. You just finished covering for the last six months the most talked-about story in the country. And you were personally targeted by ryan chamberlain. Okay, where are you going with this? I'm just saying I think there are a lot of people out there that would want to hear about your experiences. Like a-a special magazine section? Bigger.
The invader has a deal with a publishing house. I think your experiences would make for a fascinating book. Think about it -- what better way to reset than to leave it all out in your writing? You think I should write a book? I haven't even been a reporter for that long. Uh, you can write a book, and you would be great at it! Leave it all on the page. Why not? Thank you. Thank you. It's a lot to consider. I have to go start packing. What? No, no, no! You can't announce you're leaving and then leave. We need to get a drink or something.
[ Chuckling ] Okay. I know that you two want to spend some time together, so I'll get lost. But just to be crystal clear, your job at the paper will be waiting for you as soon as you're ready to return. And I hope you find the peace that you're looking for. Take care, lulu. Thank you. Peter, wait. The key is to plant seeds of doubt in kristina -- find the right words to make her look at dawn of day more critically. Right, but you're talking about something that's a gradual process. I don't have that luxury of time because she has a father who is impatient, and he is inclined to get her out of there now and deal with the psychological ramifications afterward. Are you saying he's preparing to kidnap her? You know, you've always had a very special gift with children, kali. My name is willow. I'm sorry. Old habits. I keep thinking of you as kali miller. I'd prefer you didn't think of me at all. Well, that's not possible. What are you doing here? Oh, hey, officer chase. Good to see you again. It's detective. Of course. So, another after-hours meeting, huh? You know, if your child is having behavioral issues, may I suggest that you bring him -- or her -- by the dawn of day house. We have all sorts of programs for children, as I'm sure
willow can attest. Ms. Tait made it very clear that she doesn't want to talk to you. I could arrest you for harassment. Arrest me?
[ Chuckling ] For harassment? No, no, I'm just -- I'm here because I didn't have her address. Ah. I have something that belongs to you. Well [Chuckles] Whatever's happening sounds like a big deal. Can you give me a hint?
[ Door opens ] Well -- oh, my god. It's harmony.
[ Door closes ] Hi. I'm kristina corinthos-davis. Um, I have heard so much about you. And I you. And that's why I came all this way. For tonight.
[ Chuckles ] I trust all the arrangements have been made? I'm so sorry. I didn't realize we weren't alone. This is kristina's sister. She just started taking classes with us. Harmony, this is sam mccall. Sam, harmony. Yeah. Nice to meet you. Welcome to dawn of day. Daisy, why don't you show me to the attic, make sure we're all set for tonight? Of course. Follow me. Harmony was one of shiloh's very first students. And you seem... like quite a fan. Yeah, she runs the entire branch up in beechers corners. Hey, look, there will be an investigation -- maybe even an arrest and some charges -- but they're not gonna have any evidence. They're not gonna have any way to prove what happened. And shiloh will be gone. I want to try another option...
[ Sighs ] ...Before we do something we can't take back. Why are we gonna make more trouble for the D.A. When we don't have to? All right. Yeah, you're right. The D.A. Will be useful to shiloh, yeah. It's nice having the D.A. In your back pocket. I wonder how long he's been pulling her strings. It's the same thing. Every town, it's the same pattern. In beechers corners, the dawn of day has influence with the cops, the local businessmen, uh, city council... it's like taking over a territory. You make sure, you know, you got everybody in position of influence owing you favors.
[ Sighs ] That way, you can run the town.
Kidnapping is a very strong word. Good. Grabbing kristina would be a very bad idea, no matter how well-intentioned. And it would do nothing to break the hold dawn of day has over your daughter. I-I just refuse to believe that there's nothing that I can do. There are ways you can talk to her that might help her open her eyes. Okay, well, you're gonna have to elaborate on that, because kristina and i have a lousy track record when it comes to communicating. Don't disagree with her. Challenge her in subtle ways to look at the group from the outside. It might be easier for her to see shiloh's control over other people than that of herself. Then remind her of her life on the outside. And show her memories and photos of past events with loved ones. Okay. What else? And then we can talk about the rest of this at our next session. Oh. Okay. Well, you know, thank you for hearing me out. I-I-I appreciate it and... what is that? My bill.
[ Sighs ] Now all we need is shiloh... wow. So, harmony runs the beechers corners branch of the dawn of day? Well, "runs" probably isn't the right word. There are certain people that, uh, he trusts with more responsibility. He's delegated harmony to overseeing the classes and the community outreach in beechers corners while he establishes the group's presence here. Yeah. Well, it makes sense because you must be pretty committed to the program to reach that level. Uh, how's everything looking? Well -- do -- do we need anything else? It looks like we're all set for tonight. Come join us in the kitchen. I'd love the chance to get to know you better. That would be great. Sam, you don't mind? Yeah, no, no, no. Not at all. Give me a hug. I actually have things to do, and I love you very much. Ah, it means so much to me that you've had such an open mind. And I love you. Yeah. I love you, too. I'll see you soon, that's for sure. Okay. Nice meeting you. Goodbye, sam. It was nice to meet you. Come.
[ Chuckles ] I don't want anything from you. How do you know that? You don't even know what I have for you. Look, offic-- sorry. Detective. May we have some privacy, please? Not unless ms. Tait wants me to leave. No, stay. Very well, then. So, I was, uh, cleaning out the attic, going through some old things. I came across this. Wow. Look at that picture. That smile. Look how happy you were. Pictures can be misleading. Oh, yeah, they can, but not this one. Look how happy you were. Look how happy you were in our family, with all the things that you trusted me with.
Do you think, uh, shiloh believes his own garbage? No. The whole thing's a con. Then where's the payout? Because, uh, cons usually are about money. They try to trick you into paying for something that doesn't exist. Yeah, yeah. Shiloh is charging his followers for "enlightenment." And the higher you go up in dawn of day, the more money you pay. Shiloh's not getting rich on tuition payments. If he's about serious money -- there's something we're not seeing. A way to exploit his followers and their families... willow: The place you're referring to was never my home. Oh, I think the people that you left behind would disagree. You are sorely missed. I don't want that. Please leave. Hmm. Keep it. I hope it inspires you to return to your true path.
[ Scoffs ] And just know that you will always have a place in our family. There'll always be a place for you. Perhaps even for your student's father, as well. Good evening. Are you okay? I'm fine. I escaped. But that man is never gonna stop harassing me now that he knows I'm here. Look, I know what coercion looks like, and that guy just put on a master class. What did he do to you when you were a part of dod? Like I said, there was always free will, or the illusion of it. But shiloh is a master at manipulating people into doing whatever he wants -- and making them think it's their idea.
[ Sighs ] Great. Peter's here. I mean [Scoffs] What a joke. Trying to form a relationship with faison's son. Please. That name takes her down a dark path, so we don't talk about it much. It's always tough when her past comes back to bite her. But it's not something a civilian would understand.
[ Scoffs ] Don't you have a flight or something to catch...? You know... if I didn't trust the fact that you have anna's best interests at heart, I -- I might think you're trying to get rid of me.
[ Laughs ] Well, maxie and I admitted our feelings for one another. S-- don't say "I told you so." No. No. I'm just very happy for you. I have a strong suspicion that you expected this outcome when you told me to tell maxie how I feel about her. I don't know... so... you and peter are officially a thing? Yep. I guess. You guess? That kiss looked pretty definitive to me. It's all very new. Like, happened moments-before-you-walked- in-the-door new, okay? So we're -- we're giving it a try. I'm really happy for you... thank you. ...Even though you didn't tell me. Oh, my god! I was distracted by the bombshell that you dropped! I can't believe you're leaving -- and tomorrow! I know. I-I think it's for the best. But you're coming back soon, right? 'Cause if history has shown us anything, it's that I am a complete mess when you are not in my life. Me, too.
[ Chuckles ] To the best friend I've ever had. Right back at ya.
[ Glasses clink ]
Thanks. I saw you talking to maxie earlier... mm-hmm. ...And, um, I just wanted to say if by chance you said anything to her like what you said to me, thank you. That was...
[ Chuckles ] What? I was gonna say that was a very "mom" thing to do.
I've got you thinking
could it ever be the same so am I coming back too soon? Mm. No. I-I have to go pack. Rocco wants to bring his whole room, so I think the negotiations will be lengthy. Okay, well, call me before you leave, and call me when you get there.
[ Chuckles ] And have a safe flight. Thank you. You. Keep an eye on her or you'll answer to me. I love you. I love you, too.
[ Sighs ] I trust you two are being civil? Oh. Yeah, of course. Uh... hm. Uh, look, I'm -- I'm sorry I couldn't wrap this up for you. Yeah. However, something significant has come out of it. This memory, or whatever, that alex has implanted in you, it's got to be important enough for her to go to the trouble of dredging up the mikhailov file. Significant, how? It must have some kind of emotional weight? Something that alex would rather not acknowledge to the rest of the world because of how it affects her life. So she'd prefer that it just affect mine. It's okay, all right? Members were always free to leave. But if anyone actually tried, shiloh would convince them to stay. He'd get the entire group to bombard them. Most weren't strong enough to break free of his grasp. Yeah, but you were strong enough. You're free of him now. I don't think I will ever be truly free of shiloh or dawn of day until I rid myself of this. Is that from shiloh? He said it was a gift. Only bestowed on those deemed "worthy" as part of A... "special" ceremony. You think shiloh has a way to blackmail his followers? Or ransom them. I mean, you think about it, right?
[ Sighs ] If -- if, uh, shiloh offered to let kristina go for $100,000 -- well, I would never do that 'cause if I gave him money, then he would hold kristina tighter... well, I -- ...and then he'd keep charging me anyway. Yeah, you know that, sonny, but other parents might not. I mean, if -- I-if someone's paying shiloh to get their kid out of dawn of day -- that's extortion. And if sam can get
that evidence -- we might have a chance to get shiloh charged. Well, that's gonna be kind of difficult to do with the D.A., You know, as one of his followers. Well, yeah, but the police commissioner isn'T. Neither is the mayor. I mean, there might be a way to get shiloh legally.
[ Telephone rings ] Yeah? Send him in.
[ Receiver hangs up ] I'm just figuring out a different way to help kristina.
[ Knock on door ] Thank you for coming. Help kristina see dawn of day from the outside. Let's hope that works, and that it's not too late. Well... somebody's getting a tattoo.
