[ Indistinct conversations ]
I vow to stand at your side through everything that life has in store for us --
the sunshine and the sorrow -- because I will love you every day for the rest of
[ Chair scrapes ]
I know. I've been there. And don't for one second think it's anything you did or
didn't do. Kevin can't be in his right mind if he'd give you up for Ava. That's
exactly what I'm afraid of.
Ryan: Rise and shine, brother
o' mine. Sorry, it's been so long since our last visit. But... [ Groans ] ...I
bring you great tidings of joy.
Julian: So, my favorite, uh,
the snowman was the one you put the woodchuck hat on. How 'bout you?
Julian: Yeah? Good. -Oh!
Olivia: Hey, hey, hey! There's my men. What is this? What is this? Did you lose
another pair of gloves again, honey?
Julian: Uh, well, you know,
we, uh, we left them for, uh, one of the snowmen. Mm-hmm.
Olivia: What? Mm.
Leo: They needed mittens. Mom, we made a whole family
of snow people.
Leo: We did, yeah.
Olivia: Well, this I got to see.
Julian: [ Chuckles ] Thanks
for letting me see him today. I...really needed it.
Olivia: Yeah, I kind of figured.
Julian: [ Slaps thighs ] All
[ Grunting ] Well, it's time for you to go! Oh! Thank
you for today. Mm.
Oscar: How's the pickup?
Drew: Uh, we plan on speeding over here?
Kim: [ Laughs ]
It's respectable. Mm.
Kim: Know what? Maybe I should take it out for a test
Drew: Oh, no, don't do that.
Josslyn: Hey. Am I interrupting?
No, actually. Uh, we were just gonna go stretch our legs. Mm. Kim, stretch the
Kim: Oh, yeah.
Kim: [ Chuckles ] You know
what? I need to get some coffee.
Josslyn: [ Chuckles ]
Josslyn: Sure. Thank you.
Josslyn: Is this your car?
Oscar: No, but it looks like
Kim: You know, I am so happy that he was able to fall
in love when he was well.
Josslyn: [ Chuckles lightly ] Oh, my god. I almost
forgot. Merry Christmas!
Oscar: [ Chuckles ] Thank you.
Nelle: [ Chuckles ] I don't
have a doctor.
Obrecht: Oh, but you do. Consider this a long overdue
[ Telephone rings in distance
Michael: Willow? Hey.
Willow: Uh, hi.
Michael: Uh, no workbooks today?
Willow: Schools on break. I
did have a stack of books I just dropped off at the pediatric ward. Uh, did you
make it back to your parents' house after the group meeting?
Michael: Yes, I did. We had, uh -- we had a fun holiday. Uh, you?
Willow: It was better than I expected. The grief meeting really helped.
Michael: Hey, uh, Willow, um... speaking about your son, that was -- that was a
really big step.
Willow: It felt good, you know, being able to say my
dreams for him out loud. I didn't dare before. I just wish I could have made
them all come true.
[ Keys jingle in distance ]
[ Door opens ]
Your favorite... what do you want?
Anna: Are you packing up
Kiki's things? Maybe there's something we can do.
Don't touch that!
Anna: I'm sorry. I only meant to help.
read somewhere once about a woman whose husband died in their apartment, and she
left his book open to the page that he'd last read. She called it an act of
wishful thinking as if leaving their lives exactly as they were just before he
died would keep him alive for her. I thought it was ridiculous when I read it.
You know... I thought she was weak.[ Voice breaking ] And now, I pray that
woman's same prayers. Well, we know something about prayers... don't we, father?
We know they only work for the faithful, so I guess that leaves you and I out of
Michael: I'm glad I went to
that meeting. It was -- it was helpful to be around other people who are missing
Willow: Be honest. You went 'cause you saw I was going
and you felt bad.
Michael: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I'll admit you were a
deciding factor. Because about this, uh -- this one terrible thing, we, uh... we
understand each other.
Willow: My, um... my pregnancy came as a surprise, and
all through it, I just kept wondering about what kind of life my baby and I
Michael: Yeah, I don't -- I-I don't -- I don't know if
I'll ever stop wondering about it.[ Exhales sharply ] Imagining what it would've
been like to see my son grow up.
Nelle: What are you doing
here? Aren't you a fugitive?
Obrecht: No. I had an
unfortunate misunderstanding with law enforcement, but it's all cleared up.
Isn't it funny how life works? One moment, I am on my way to prison, and the
next I am delivering your beautiful, healthy baby in the middle of nowhere. And
now, you are in prison, and I'm asking myself, "where is that beautiful baby
Kevin: Laura. Where's Laura?
Ryan: Ah, ah, ah! We'll -- we'll get to Laura. First,
I want to share with you my news, which is... I am totally pulling this off! [
Laughs ] Oh, but I do have to say, you must be one heck of a shrink. I barely
have to talk through those sessions. I mean, your patients know exactly how
you're going to respond.
Kevin: You're in no position to treat patients
Well, neither are you.
Kevin: Wait. Laura -- is she okay? What have you done?
Ryan: I've been nothing but a gentleman with my
brother's wife. She is lovely. A little staid for my taste. I had to put a
little distance between us. However...[ Groans ] ...Once the divorce is final,
we'll hardly have to interact at all.
Kevin: You're divorcing my
Laura: The way Kevin's been
acting, I can't help but be concerned about his mental health.
Well, it would put some things into perspective.
Laura: Like what?
Well, I mean, I think Kevin's been distracted and detached, at least since I've
been released from Ferncliff. I told him that I wanted to set up an appointment
with him to talk about the anniversary of Morgan's death, and he basically blew
Laura: That's not Kevin. It's not. You know, there
have been so many things that are just not Kevin. Mm. [ Sighs ] I keep worrying
Carly: What are you worried about?
Ugh. A few years after Ryan died, Kevin had a psychotic break. He was confusing
his identity with his brother's, so now the way he's been acting, I'm afraid
that he's headed for another breakdown.
Carly: That would make sense.
I mean, it would explain his odd behavior. But it doesn't explain his romantic
interest in Ava. Unless you think it's all a part of his, you know...losing it.
Laura: Couldn't it be?
Carly: Sure. But is it
possible you're looking for a reason to believe that Kevin doesn't really want a
Laura's having trouble accepting the end of our marriage, but I'm hopeful she'll
make peace with things. Otherwise, I'll have to employ other means of
Kevin: No. Leave her alone.
That's precisely what I'm trying to do. Laura's safe -- for now. It's just
that... [ Sighs ] ...There's really only so much I can take. I've already had to
dispense with two problems, and I'm really hoping to avoid a third.
What do you -- what do you mean? Ryan, w-- you didn't kill anybody, did you?
Felicia -- is -- is Felicia okay?
Ryan: Felicia? Oh! [ Laughs ]
Ye-yes, Felicia's fine. It's -- it's so funny. I'm not into her at all. But, to
answer your question, yes. Twice.
Kevin: You murdered two
Ryan: All those years, you were trying so hard to fix
me, and it turns out I wasn't even broken. This is just who I am.
[ Exhales sharply ] Ah, no, no, no. No. Now, take it
easy. You could hurt yourself. As much as I'm enjoying the irony of this
situation, I do need you healthy and somewhat lucid. You see, there are some
gaps in my knowledge of your life -- gaps that only you can fill.
I'll never help you.
Ryan: Of course you will. Laura's life depends on it.
Oscar: More wrapping paper. [
Chuckles ] A five-year planner?
Josslyn: Yeah, well, open it.
Oscar: Okay. [ Chuckles ] Ah. January 1st -- ring up
the new year with joss. Huh. January 11th -- bake cookies with joss. Mm-hmm. [
Pages rustling ] February 9th -- take joss for a quick hike. Are you serious?
You know how cold it gets in February?
Josslyn: Okay, well, thus the
"quick." And that's if we don't get snowed in.
Oscar: [ Chuckles ] February
14th -- watch valentine's day movies and bake truffles. [ Scoffs ] Take PSATs,
go to the movies... you did this for the whole year?
Josslyn: Yeah, well, just the first year. I figured the rest of them we'd plan
Lulu: [ Chuckles ] Happy
Laura: Oh, sweetheart. Thank
Charlotte and Rocco made you cards, and there's a little gift in there from me.
Laura: Aww. Oh, they're just wonderful.
I know I'm biased, but I totally agree.
[ Both laugh ]
Dig in, dig in.
Laura: Okay, all right. Oh, I see it. [ Gasps ] Oh --
oh, my goodness. Oh, I love it.
Lulu: Aww, and we love you.
Never, ever forget that. I know things are hard with everything you're dealing
with Kevin, so I wanted you to know how special and loved you are by me and the
grandkids, Spencer included.
Laura: Thank you, sweetheart.
This means so much, especially now. You know that. I mean, a year ago, Kevin and
I were in love and we were happy, and now we are unrecognizable, and I just
can't fathom what happened to bring us to this place.
The name begins with "a" and ends with "A."
Laura: Yeah, I know that Ava
is certainly a factor, but they both insist that they didn't start seeing each
other until after we had separated. This is something else. I just haven't
figured it out yet.
Griffin: Kiki wouldn't want us
tearing each other apart.
Ava: Probably not. But she's
dead, so she can't really call the shots.
Anna: You know, Ava, if you
don't want to do this right now, there are services that will come and pack
everything up for you.
Ava: Oh, no, no. No, I don't... I don't want anybody
touching her things.
Anna: All right, well, we'll just leave you to it,
Griffin: Look, if you're gonna -- if you're gonna give
that book away, I'd like to have something of hers.
But you've... you've already had plenty, haven't you? Days and nights of Kiki
after you drove a wedge between us. You know, you may not have killed my
daughter, but you took her from me just the same.
Let's go. Come on. Let's go.
Ava: No! Let him stay! I dare
you to stay and watch me as I put every bit of Kiki into these boxes! [ Voice
breaking ] How does it feel to be left empty-handed -- the same way I was when
you stole her away from me?
Anna: Ava you are in terrible
pain, I get that. But it doesn't give you license to attack him.
Griffin: Look, Anna, it's
fine. We are both grieving.
Ava: Don't you dare compare
your grief to mine. Do you wanna know what grief looks like? Kiki, she saved
every bit of her childhood. All of it. Every scrape, all the stuff that I jammed
into draws, back of closets. To Mommy, who holds my hands when I'm afraid. Dan
medals, report cards, stacks of cards. You know she saved every card I ever gave
her. She used to say she was going to make a collage one day. For all of the
Kiki's I knew and loved, are here. The 3-year-old ballet dancer. The 6-year old
that loved roller coasters even know she was too tired to ride the ones she
really wanted. This short story was written when she was 10. The hat that she
tried to knit. I didn't burry just one child, I buried all the little girls that
she was when she was growing up. [ Crying ]
Anna: Aww Ava isn't there
someone we can call for you? Your brother or someone? Please.
Ryan: It's all right, I'm
Ava: [ Crying ]
Laura: How did you get your
hands on this privileged information?
Lulu: I was dropping off a
care package to Dante's old partner.
Laura: Ah ha and you just
happen to see the case file on Mary Pat Ingle's murder?
Lulu: No! I just happen to be
taking a peek at Kiki's file.
Laura: Ohh no.
Lulu: And I saw Mary Pat's name. Apparently, there are similarities between the cases that the police are
suspecting is the beginning of a pattern.
Laura: So what, the police
think there might be one killer?
Lulu: Think about it, in both
instances the bodies were moved and left somewhere to be found at a party or a
public event. And they were both killed with a knife or a blade of some sort.
Carly: Ok, I'm sorry to
interrupt but are you saying that the police are investigating a serial killer?
Oscar: So hard to believe how
different everything was last Christmas. We found my mom's cd and then the
letter. I didn't even know Drew was my dad.
Josslyn: That is crazy. Seems
like Drew's been your dad for a lot longer than a year.
Josslyn: Do you still wish
that your mom and dad got back together?
Oscar: I know it sounds dumb
Josslyn: It's not dumb.
Oscar: Childish then,
immature. I sound like a little kid. But still, it would make me feel a lot
better about everything if my dad was looking after my mom. But she still has
Josslyn: Well like you said, a lot can change in a
Drew: So this is the last week
of the trial. Teri should be able to quantify the results and let us know if
there's been any benefits.
Kim: I am praying, praying
that the treatment works. But if she comes back and she says that tumor hasn't
reduced in size, I...
Drew: Hey, if there's nothing left to be done for
Oscar, then we'll just have to find a way to squeeze the world in whatever time
he has left.
Willow: I got to hold my son
for a while. The weight of him and the warmth helped. Perfect and fragile he
was. I knew I had to give him up but I physically couldn't make my arms let go.
I finally ask the nurse to take him. And my arms felt so empty afterward. At
night I dream I am holding him again.
Michael: I ah, I do that too.
I dream that Jonah is alive and I am holding him. And when I wake up and
remember, it's like you said. My arms feel so empty.
Nelle: You are mistaken. I
gave birth in the woods after a car accident. My baby didn't survive.
Obrecht: Your baby was born strong and vital. If I would have given him an apt
it would have been a ten. Trauma didn't kill him, perhaps you did.
Nelle: You are crazy if you
think I would ever hurt my child. Everything I ever did was to protect him a
Obrecht: Why doesn't it sound like your child is dead
Nelle: Because I still feel like he's with me. I miss
him. I am still in mourning. Why are you trying to mock my grief?
Obrecht: Well, while we are on
the subject of grief. Maxi tells me that Michael Corinthos is devastated by the
loss of his child. But don't you imagine the gratitude if he was to learn the
Ava: I need to do that. I-I
need to go through everything.
Ryan: And you shall, but not
everything needs to be done today.
Anna: I'm glad you're here,
Kevin. You know, we came. We thought maybe we could help in some way.
Well, I don't know how much help he can offer. Let's go, Ava. You can look
through Kiki's things later at home.
Ava: Y-yes, I think I --
that's a good idea.
Ryan: Oh, uh, do lock up when you leave. Thank you.
Anna: Oh, Griffin. [ Sighs ] Don't let her anger and
-- and... bitterness get to you. You know, I mean, that is the last thing that
Kiki would've wanted, you know?
Kim: Parents entering!
All clear? As you can see.
Drew: [ Chuckles ] Where's
Oscar: I don't know. She took off with some errand to
run or something, but check this out.
Kim: [ Chuckles ]
Josslyn: [ Sighs ]
Julian: Hey, Josslyn. Everything okay with Oscar?
Josslyn: Uh, yeah, he's doing pretty good today, actually.
Julian: Ah, glad to hear it. Actually, I'm gonna stop by the hospital later when
my manager gets in to cover me. I'd like to bring, uh, Oscar his favorite
sandwich. Plus, it'd be nice to be there for Kim, as well.
Josslyn: Yeah, well, the best way to help Kim is to help Oscar, right?
Julian: Yeah, actually, I'd really like to help Oscar. Any idea how I might be
able to do that?
Josslyn: Actually, I do. You need to give up Kim.
Carly: How closely have the
police been able to link the murders?
Lulu: I'm not sure. I'm -- [
Quietly ] I know they're investigating them together, but I don't know the
Carly: I was questioned twice for Mary Pat Ingles.
Poor Griffin Munro was held overnight as a suspect. I'm just wondering, what if
it's a part of the pattern -- that the killer frames an obvious suspect?
Oh, see, now, that's an angle I hadn't considered, 'cause you were an obvious
suspect for Mary Pat...
Lulu: ...Just like Griffin is
for Kiki. Yeah, and there's a strong possibility that the killer isn't finished
and they're gonna target somebody else. Why haven't the police said anything?
Laura: I don't know. Ah. Maybe the mayor can enlighten
Nelle: You're a disgraced
doctor, a felon. Michael would never believe anything that you had to say.
Obrecht: And you framed his mother for attempted
murder. I don't think it's a far stretch for Michael to believe you gave him a
dead baby instead of his own. However, I don't need to convince him. All I need
to do is suggest they perform a DNA test on the poor deceased child.
Michael is not worthy of my son. He betrayed me. He wanted to steal my baby and
let his bitch of a mother help raise him. Well, that's not gonna happen, all
right? Carly doesn't get to win.
Obrecht: My concern is with
the baby I delivered that night. Huh. If you don't tell me where he is, I shall
feel compelled to tell the police everything. Your move. Since you refuse to
answer, I can only assume that you dispatched with some poor child to switch him
with your own.
Nelle: Stop saying that. I didn't kill any baby.
Obrecht: Prove it.
Nelle: [ Sighs ] After you
left me, I made my way back to the road. I thought maybe I could hitch a ride to
sawyer and then figure out some way across the border. But even as I was trying
to make a plan, I knew that it would never work. Michael's family would never
allow me to keep my baby. And then fate stepped in.
Obrecht: And how did fate come to your assistance?
Brad Cooper was on the side of the road. He had the newborn that he and Lucas
were going to adopt, and the baby had died. Brad was a wreck. Lucas hadn't even
seen him because he was at the hospital.
Obrecht: Perhaps fate showed
up for you after all. You gave brad your healthy baby and passed the other poor
child off as your own.
Nelle: My son is with people who truly want him and
love him -- people more deserving than Michael and his mother.
Michael: You know, you should
meet my godson. You know, he's adorable. [ Chuckles ] And I got to admit, just
holding him makes me feel so good. You know, my family is crazy about him.
Willow: Sounds like a very lucky little boy to have so
many people who love him.
Michael: He came into our --
our lives right when we were at our lowest, and he really brought joy back into
our hearts. So I think that we're the lucky ones to be able to love Wiley the
way that we do.
Josslyn: Oscar's parents have
a real connection. They rely on each other. They're getting closer all the time,
and for Oscar, that is the one upside of him being sick.
Julian: But it's a fantasy. Kim and drew -- they're not together.
Josslyn: Well, they could be if you'd step aside. You are the one person that
can make Oscar's wish come true.
Laura: Have the police advised
you that there's a possible serial killer on the loose? Ned:
Laura, please. Keep your voice down. Your reaction is exactly the response I'm
trying to avoid.
Lulu: So you admit the police are investigating a
Ned: The police suspect that there may be one, yes.
Laura: Well, don't you think people have a right to
Ned: I'm trying to avoid a panic, okay? Look, the
investigation is ongoing. Nothing has been confirmed yet.
Can I quote you on that? My story comes out tomorrow.
Tomo-- lulu, look, that is completely irresponsible journalism. Do you really
want to create a wave of panic and paranoia just to sell a few extra newspapers?
Olivia: Lulu, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu. -Really? I-I would
really love to give you an exclusive sneak peek at our preparations for the
upcoming benefit. It's on behalf of pediatric cancer, which, as you can imagine,
is a cause near and dear to the Quartermaine's heart. I just thought that maybe
you'd really like to write about some of the good things that people are doing
in this town for a change.
Ryan: Excuse me. Two vodka
martinis, please -- dry, extra olives. There's, um, a situation that requires my
attention. Shouldn't take long.
Kevin: Laura. Laura, you're
not safe. Give him what he wants. Walk away.
Laura: I took a vow to stand
by you through whatever life had in store for us -- the sunshine and the sorrow.
I will keep my promise because I will love you every day for the rest of my
Kevin: Your love for me will get you killed. I have to
do something to save Laura.
Carly: [ Gasps ] Oh, my...
Kevin! You scared me.
Ryan: Why so jumpy?
Carly: I don't know, I-I guess
it's just the day that I'm [Chuckling] Having. So, uh, what can I do for you?
Ryan: Well, you wanted information on your neighbor at
Carly: Did you find something out besides a name?
Ryan: I did. And I couldn't wait to share the truth
with you personally.
Now that you know everything... what are you going to do? Please leave my son
with brad and Lucas. They deserve him. Michael doesn't.
Obrecht: Not to worry, my dear. I find the truth is best left unsaid... ...until
one really needs it.
Willow: [ Breathes shakily ] What did -- what did you say your godson's name is?
Michael: It's, uh, Wiley Cooper-Jones. Actually, I
have something here.
Michael: [ Chuckles ] It's, uh, a bit of a mouthful,
but it definitely suits him.
Willow: It's beautiful.
Griffin: I remember the
afternoon Kiki and I became neighbors. [ Sighs ] My radiator wasn't working.
Came down here to see what was going on, and her -- hers was broken, too.
Steam-heat in midsummer.
Anna: [ Chuckles ]
Griffin: She tried to teach me
the subtle art of banging on it with a wrench. [ Chuckles ] Ohh. Even frustrated
and overheated, doing battle with the radiator, she was gorgeous. Impossible to
look away. Yeah, I didn't know it then, but I was already in love with her.
Anna: Well, someday, those memories won't hurt so
much, and you'll be glad for them.
Griffin: I'll have to take
your word on that.
Griffin: We should go.
[ DVD player opens ]
Anna: Oh, what's that?
Griffin: I knew it would still be here. It's "from here to eternity." Kiki --
she loved this movie. She insisted that I watch it. She said she was a hopeless
romantic and proud of it.
Anna: Are you ready to go?
Griffin: Yeah, there's nothing left for me here.
Anna: Okay, come on.
Olivia" It was a real struggle
to rebuild Port Charles after the earthquake, but everyone pitched in, and we
are finally just now starting to make a comeback. That is why I am hoping that
my daughter-in-law will make the right choice and write about some of the ways
that people are coming together in this city.
Lulu: I write the truth.
Olivia: The truth is that there's more going on in
this town right now than a couple of murder investigations, okay? The truth is
that there's a lot of good things going on here, and maybe you could choose to
write about some of that.
Drew: Easter-egg bowling? What
[ Both chuckle ]
Kim: Oh, and, uh, I see a lot
of baking and cookies and candies and... how about we add in there, uh, "get
your teeth cleaned"?
Drew: How about we add in there "fly a plane"?
Yeah, that's fine with me, as long as it has a remote control.
[ Laughter ]
Julian: I understand that you
want to do something for Oscar, but I am not walking away from Kim, okay? She
Josslyn: Wrong. You refuse to walk away from Kim
because you're selfish. You don't care that you're taking away Oscar's dream.
Julian: Okay, Kim and drew are not getting back
together just because Oscar wants them to.
Josslyn: Well, did it ever
occur to you that they need each other, that they're Oscar's parents, and they
want to spend as much time as they can with their son who could be dying? Kim,
Oscar, and drew are a family, so why don't you step aside and let them be a
family for as much time as they've got left?
Kevin: See, there are some
gaps in my knowledge of your life --gaps that only you can fill. There may be a
way to save Laura.
Ryan: The patient's name is
Wilson Ritter. He's an extremely dangerous sociopath, and he's committed
unspeakable crimes. He has to be restrained for his own safety and that of
others. Carly, his cries for help were manipulations. And I'm just grateful that
you didn't do anything to try to set him free, because who knows what would've
happened if he'd gotten too close.
Carly: Wow, um... thank you
for clearing that up.
Ryan: So, you're satisfied? You can put Ferncliff
behind you now and move on with your life?
Carly: Uh, yeah. I mean,
that's the plan. [ Chuckles ] I'm just glad I got nowhere near that guy.
Ned: The police don't have a
suspect. They don't even know if they're looking for a man or a woman. I mean,
just think how that will impact the public. I mean, how long before a -- a
homeless person starts walking through a neighborhood and is mistaken for the
killer and then shot?
Laura: Okay, but if the two murders are linked, then I
think the public has a right to know about the danger.
Do you hear yourselves? Honestly, there's a killer out there. Do something. Find
them before they kill somebody else's daughter. And if you don't do it, I will.
