Woman: Sorry, Elizabeth. The buyer asked to remain anonymous.
Elizabeth: [Sighs] Ohh. I hope they know how lucky they are.
Felix: Oh, I'd say Franco's the lucky one.
Felix: Hey! [Smooches] You look amazing.
Elizabeth: Oh, thank you. I'm so glad you guys could make it.
Felix: Like I'd miss Franco's return to the art world. Or your hosting skills -- which, by the way, are on point.
Elizabeth: Oh, thank you.
Felix: So, how's it going?
André: Well, judging by all the red dots, I'd say pretty well.
Elizabeth: Franco's artwork is flying off the walls.
Felix: I'd like to congratulate the artist. Where is he?
Elizabeth: You didn't see him when you came in?
Felix: Mnh-mnh. What could have dragged Franco away from his own opening?
Franco: Later, Pops.
Scott: Where you going?
Franco: I got to find Betsy. She promised me that she would meet me here and tell me what was going on in that photograph -- whether it was Jason or somebody else. And she's gone. She's checked out. She's disappeared. What does that tell you?
Scott: It tells me that you should quit while you're ahead. Let it go. Hey. Let her go.
Franco: I can't.
Carly: Hey. I got your message. Have they moved him?
Sonny: No, he's still there. They're taking him in the morning.
Carly: [Sighs] Sam's not in there with him?
Sonny: Sam and Alexis went to the new facility to check it out.
Carly: That's good. You know, that'll, um -- that'll help her. You know, it's gonna help her feel more comfortable about this decision. Who am I kidding? There's nothing comfortable about this. Our best friend's lying in that bed trapped in his own body. I just want to scream, you know, "Wake up. Wake up."
Sonny: If only that could work.
Carly: Oh, I miss him. I miss him so much.
Sonny: Yeah, I do, too.
Lulu: Mm. Do you hear that?
Lulu: Nothing. Hm. No sound of block towers falling or karaoke machines blaring. There are no kids asking us for anything.
Lulu: We're alone.
Dante: Well, Charlotte's upstairs.
Lulu: Mm, but she's sleeping. And Rocco is at your mom and Ned's, so, uh, that's about as alone as it gets in these parts.
Dante: Hmm. Hmm. What should we do...
Dante: ...With all that solitude?
Dante: I mean, I got about 25 minutes before I clock in.
Lulu: Mm, I think 25 minutes is plenty of time.
Dante: What do you think? Just what --
Lulu: Mm, I could tell you. I could tell you.
Lulu: But I'd much rather show you.
Dante: All right. Mm.
Dante: Mm, hey.
Lulu: Hi, honey! Hey!
Charlotte: I need to call my papa.
Dante: [Clears throat]
Nina: What are we celebrating?
Valentin: We are celebrating you and us.
Nina: I like those subjects.
Valentin: So do I.
Nina: Just so you know, the only thing missing is Charlotte.
Valentin: Well, not for long. We'll be back together as a family before you know it.
Nina: You know, even if Lulu and Dante had full custody -- God forbid -- I'd still be here. I still would have come back to you.
Valentin: I know.
Nina: You do? 'Cause, you know, I love you for you.
Valentin: I know.
Nina: You're not just an on-ramp to Charlotte.
Valentin: I know.
Valentin: But just so you know, you can ride my on-ramp any time you want.
Nina: Listen to you. [Chuckles] So smug and adorable.
Valentin: Well, I love you. And I wanted you back.
Nina: Look at that. You got what you wanted.
Valentin: Look at that. So I did.
[In St. Petersburg, Russia]
Ava: Oh. You're still here, huh? You know, I'm starting to think the staff park you in front of this window here, so they don't have to risk contact. Although I don't see what's so dangerous about you. You don't even move. I stand corrected. You're moving your hands. I guess I ought to be scared now, too, huh? I mean, I have been warned at least a dozen times to stay out of reach. Even Dr. Boronsky. He seemed a little nervous when I asked about you. And I don't think much intimidates that guy. By the way, my consultation went well. At least I think it did. [Chuckling] It's so hard to tell in this place. Everybody's so tight-lipped about everything. Especially about you.
Lulu: Um, why do you have to call your papa?
Charlotte: To ask about my friend Bailey, from dance class. I think she's sick.
Lulu: Well, why would you say that?
Charlotte: I heard our teacher ask Bailey's mom to check for scololosis.
Charlotte: It's when you can't make your shoulders level.
Charlotte: Papa told me that he used to have it, and he got better. So maybe he can help Bailey.
Nina: So, do you have any word on how Ava is doing?
Valentin: I know she made it to the clinic. That's about the extent of it.
Nina: Mm. I still don't completely understand why you're helping her.
Valentin: Because I'm a nice person. No, you know why I'm doing it. 'Cause I want to make sure that... Charlotte comes back to me.
Nina: Yeah, but it's Ava's statement against yours, and she doesn't have any evidence to back up that you killed Nikolas.
Valentin: Well, there's one fly in the ointment.
Valentin: Spencer Cassadine. Say, by some stretch of the imagination, he wins his civil suit.
Nina: That's highly unlikely.
Valentin: No, I think you underestimate how sympathetic he's gonna be. Little orphaned boy missing his father, sitting in a courtroom listening to Ava's sad tale.
Valentin: There's a small chance it could sway the jury. [Sighs] And if he wins the civil suit, then Dante and Lulu's lawyer will jump on that and say that there's new "proof" that I'm involved in Nikolas' death.
Nina: Seems like a lot of work to go through for just, you know, a simple plan.
Valentin: You know, I have had to fight for Charlotte ever since day one. Since I had to steal the embryo from Helena.
Nina: Well, it's not stealing if it's yours.
Valentin: I'll do whatever I have to do for Charlotte. I mean, if there is the slightest risk that needs to be eliminated, I will eliminate it.
Nina: Sounds -- sounds cold.
Valentin: Oh, I'm sorry. I don't want to be cold. Let's just say I'm a believer that if there's a small problem, you don't let it become a big problem.
Nina: The only small problem I have is that I don't have enough champagne right now.
Valentin: [Gasps] The horror.
Nina: What's that? It's late for visitors.
Valentin: I don't know, but I will definitely send them away, and then we can resume our celebration.
Ava: Why am I trusting these people? For all I know, that story about you being shot and falling into the water is just that -- a story. You could be here for surgery, just like me. This could be the result. Oh, God. Please say that's not the case, because it's true that I don't like looking in the mirror these days, but I'll take it over being a vegetable. Uh, not that... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. It's just... ...there's something about this place. It gives me the creeps. For all the luxurious appointments and smiling staff... it feels like a prison.
Franco: Look at this.
Scott: I've seen this picture.
Franco: Yeah, but look again, okay? 'Cause it's one thing to have an imaginary friend and then convince yourself that it's your long-lost twin. It's another thing entirely to have actual proof, to have actual real-world basis for an obsession.
Scott: Proof?! This isn't proof.
Franco: Jason and I are together in that photograph. Not only that -- we are dressed the same.
Franco: "So?" That's not random, okay? That's not -- that's not some weird coincidence.
Scott: You know what? Maybe it was baseball-shirt day at the playground. Who knows?!
Franco: I know. I've seen photographs of Jason -- other photographs at that same age.
Scott: I admit that it's uncanny, his resemblance to Jason. But I was Jason's guardian for a hot second. I have known Jason his entire life. And I'm telling you this -- and you better get it through your head -- Jason spent his entire childhood here in Port Charles. This kid is not Jason.
Elizabeth: We decided to schmooze separately so we can cover more ground. Are you sure you didn't see Franco anywhere?
Felix: Mnh-mnh. Franco's the kind of guy who stands out -- even if he doesn't mean to.
André: Maybe he just took a bathroom break.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Maybe.
Felix: This one's cool.
Elizabeth: Oh, yeah. This one -- this is my favorite. And Franco's, too.
André: Representational with a touch of surrealism. Especially in the clouds.
Felix: Like I said: "Cool."
Elizabeth: Dr. Maddox, I didn't know you were a connoisseur.
André: I dabble. But this image is unique. I mean, Franco's other work is undeniably powerful, but this painting... even though the boys are separated by the mirror effect -- a visual barrier between their worlds -- it still feels...hopeful.
Elizabeth: That's exactly what I told Franco. [Chuckles]
Woman: How dare you celebrate this monster and his "art"? People died for this garbage. Including my sister. And you're just gonna stand here and applaud it?
Elizabeth: I-I'm [Sighs] Look, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Woman: Yeah. Like the courts were? $1 million. Can you believe that? Like that's what my sister's life was worth. Well, guess what. Some things are priceless. Some things, no matter how much you throw at it, money just can't fix.
Carly: Wow, it's surreal, isn't it? Waiting for transfer to a long-term facility... just like going back in time.
Carly: Jason was incredible. Remember? He was our rock.
Carly: It's just so different now. I mean, not that we can't count on him. Obviously, we can, you know, or he wouldn't be here, but just before that night on the pier, you know, before he vanished and came back... ...you know, Jason was always there, even before you knew you needed him. [Chuckles]
Sonny: It's an instinct.
Carly: Yeah. But since he -- since he's come back, it's...
Sonny: Remember, after he was shot, I told you I didn't think he was gonna show up at the warehouse? I thought we'd got past that. That's -- that's the difference, right there. Jason has a choice now. Before, he didn't.
Carly: We could have begged him not to go, and we couldn't have stopped him. You know? I-I used to know how Jason would react to anything. I knew what he liked. I knew what he wanted. Now I don't know at all, and that scares the hell out of me.
Franco: Why would my mother refuse to see me? Why -- why would Betsy run off? Unless it was something big. Unless it was something really big that they didn't want me to know. This is the something!
Scott: Why is this so important to you?
Franco: Is that an actual question?
Scott: Yeah, it is. It's a question.
Franco: Dad! My entire childhood could have been a lie.
Scott: Oh, come on. That's crazy talk. Now, maybe there's a little more to it than any of that.
Franco: My imaginary friend -- he wasn't some dark presence in my life. Whoever he was, he really helped me.
Scott: How? How -- how did he help you?
Franco: I was scared, like, all the time. I was a kid who was scared... a lot. And he wasn't just a companion. He was my champion. And then -- and then, all of a sudden, he was gone. And I-I thought it was maybe something that I did, you know? Like I'd done something really, really wrong. Like I was a really bad person. And that's what started me on this whole spiral.
Scott: All right, look. Come on, come on. What? We're not gonna go down this road.
Franco: I don't see why not. Why not?
Scott: 'Cause there's no point in going down this dark, dismal road, okay? The tumor -- it's gone. Everything is right in the world. Now give me the picture.
Scott: Come on. Give it to me. No! I'm gonna burn this picture!
Franco: Are you insane?!
Scott: Am I?! [Sighs] Okay, I'll tell you what. Just put it away for 24 hours, okay? Just put it away for 24 hours. Come on, come on. This is your big night. Come on. I-I want -- I want you to enjoy it.
Scott: I don't want you to miss any of this. Come on.
Nina: Hey! What a surprise! Oh, my goodness!
Charlotte: I asked to call Papa, and Lulu said we could come see him instead.
Nina: Is everything okay?
Lulu: Well, Charlotte's fine. She's worried about a friend of hers. She thought that Valentin could help.
Valentin: Well, I can certainly try. Here. [Chuckles] Come on. Who is this friend of yours?
Charlotte: Bailey. From dance class. The teacher told Bailey's mom that she had scol-i-osis?
Valentin: Did she?
Charlotte: Because we were doing pirouettes, and Bailey's feet were perfect, but she couldn't get her shoulders level.
Valentin: And the dance instructor wants Bailey's mother to have her examined?
Charlotte: Yes. And I wanted to ask. Sometimes I can't get my shoulders level. Does that mean I have scoliosis?
Ava: Oh, what am I saying? This place isn't a prison. It's the opposite, right? It's an oasis. It's, uh, a miracle casino where you beat the odds and get that million-to-one shot. Maybe the reason I'm so uncomfortable here is that I don't think I deserve it. Why make me something beautiful on the outside when my insides don't match? So, what about you? Who were you before you became this so-called "dangerous psychotic" staring out the window? Are you good on the inside? Do you have people who love you, waiting for you to come home? People you love in return?
Franco: Oh, my God! What? Are you...
Elizabeth: I'm fine. I'm fine.
André: Someone tried to deface one of your paintings.
Felix: But check it. Not a drop on this thing. My girl Elizabeth to the rescue.
Franco: You did that?
Franco: You did that for me? You -- you stood between a vandal and my artwork?
Elizabeth: Of course.
Elizabeth: She was one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. She lost her sister.
Franco: Oh, no. I remember.
Elizabeth: Where are you going?
Franco: I got to talk to her.
Elizabeth: No, I don't think that's a good idea.
Cara: Nobody was hurt.
Dante: I understand.
Cara: Unlike his victims.
Dante: That still doesn't let you come in here and vandalize his property.
Franco: Cara. Right? Lorraine is your sister?
Cara: Was my sister. So, you enjoying your show? Your cocktails and your wine while you sell off the artwork that took lives?
Franco: I'm sorry.
Cara: No, you're not.
Franco: I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what happened to your sister. I'm sorry for what happened to everybody. And it's only right that everyone has been compensated.
Cara: You are sick. And no amount of charity or money is ever gonna change that. Do you hear me? Ever!
Carly: The person in that bed was the Jason we used to know...
Sonny: There's no question what he would have wanted.
Carly: I mean, you already said that you would take care of it, but I don't know. I mean, maybe he would want this. I mean, Jason used to be so sure of himself. He -- he made decisions on the spot. There were no questions. And now I don't even know anymore, Sonny. I mean, look at him. Everything's different. I mean, look how fast he got out of the business. And I -- I'm happy for him. I am. I'm happy for him and Sam. It's just...
Sonny: It's not a -- a decision Jason would have made back in the day. I know that, okay? I-I know. I mean, maybe he would want this now. Maybe he'd want to be in the hospital bed. Maybe he'd want to go to a long-term facility on the odds that something might change.
Sonny: Hey, it's not up to us.
Carly: I...understand that. But Jason would hate this. It's his worst nightmare. He hated hospitals. He couldn't stand them. He couldn't stand them for an hour, let alone to be hooked up for weeks on end. He wouldn't want this. He wouldn't want this for Sam, Scout, or Danny. This isn't living. This is being in limbo. And I just want to honor him. I want to honor his wishes and do what's right for Jason.
Sonny: Hey, listen to me, okay? Best-case scenario is, Jason wakes up, and he tells us himself what his wishes are. You know, for next time.
Carly: There's not gonna be a next time. Do you hear me? You're never leaving us again.
Valentin: Listen to me very carefully. You do not have scoliosis.
Charlotte: How can you be sure?
Valentin: Because I've had you checked. Many, many times. When the doctors asked you to bend over and touch your toes, that's exactly what they were looking for. Your spine's perfect.
Charlotte: But yours wasn't?
Valentin: No. No, mine was not, so I had to go to special doctors to have everything fixed.
Charlotte: Can you tell Bailey's mom how to do that for her?
Valentin: Do you have her mother's contact information?
Lulu: Yeah, I'll text it to you.
Charlotte: What are you gonna do, Papa?
Valentin: I am gonna call Bailey's mother. And I'll talk her through the next step.
Ava: Well, since you can't tell me anything about yourself, I guess I'll tell you about me. [Sighing] Oh. Where to begin? I have two daughters. I love them very much. One I rarely see, as her father keeps her away from me... and one... I'm just so lucky that I still have a relationship with. She could have written me off, and she didn't. I guess I have the fire to thank for that. If I hadn't been injured, I don't think she ever would have forgiven me. If any part of you can hear me, and you're wondering what I did, my answer would be, "Which time?" My list of transgressions is -- is quite long and distinguished. And if it sounds like I'm proud of that, I'm not. There are exactly three people in this world that love me. My brother and my girls. That's it. That's not a lot. I don't even have any friends to speak of. And that's why -- that's why he was so special. Truly special. I wouldn't even know what it's like to have a real friend if it weren't for Nikolas Cassadine. [Gasps] Hey! Hey! [Gasps] Let go! Please. Please let me go. You're hurting me. [Gasps] Do you know Nikolas?
Ava: Is that why you reacted that way?
Darya: Excuse me. What -- what are you doing?
Ava: No, uh, nothing. I'm -- I'm just talking to him.
Darya: No, no, no. Please, come. You are not to bother him. Is that understood?
Ava: He's the one who grabbed me.
Darya: [Sighs] It's because he's extremely disoriented. I'm telling you this for your own safety. He's quite strong.
Ava: I realize that.
Darya: Are -- are you hurt?
Ava: No. No, it's nothing I can't handle. And for the record, I was trying to help him.
Darya: He's on a lot of medications. What you perceive as helping, he may perceive it as you threatening him. And that will not go over well.
Ava: No, no, no. I don't think that's why he lashed out.
Darya: I'm just saying it's a possibility. We used to have to put restraints on him.
Ava: When he's like that? In a wheelchair?
Darya: Oh, it's a great privilege for him to be here without them. And, of course, much more comfortable. I don't want anything to ruin that for him.
Ava: Can I ask you something?
Darya: Of course.
Ava: Does the name Nikolas Cassadine mean anything to you?
Valentin: Shriners Hospitals for Children has an app where you can perform a preliminary spine check. It's called spinescreen. All one word. Uh, the app will give you all the signs of scoliosis, and you can follow its instructions to perform the preliminary check. But you will have to follow that with a doctor's exam. Well, if -- if Bailey does have scoliosis, I think the people at Shriners Hospitals for Children may be able to help. But I tell you what. Why don't you call me back after you perform the preliminary check, and we can talk about our options? Oh, you're very welcome. [Sighs]
Charlotte: What will happen if Bailey has scoliosis?
Valentin: Well, the doctors will treat her. But, you know, the people that I told Bailey's mother about -- Shriners Hospitals for Children -- they have helped many, many children with scoliosis.
Charlotte: Will Bailey have to go to the hospital?
Valentin: I don't know. But if she does, that is actually a good thing, because she'll be getting the treatment she needs exactly when she needs it.
Charlotte: I'm so glad I told you, Papa. I knew you'd know what to do.
Valentin: Ohh. You can always come to me with any problem you have -- friends, you, anything.
Charlotte: I know. I love you, Papa.
Nina: It is way past somebody's bedtime.
Nina: [Laughs] All right, I'll walk you to the launch.
Charlotte: I'd like that.
Nina: Thank you!
Lulu: I'll be right there, sweetie.
Charlotte: Good night, Papa.
Valentin: Bonne nuit, ma petite.
Lulu: Thank you.
Valentin: And I am grateful to you, as well, for bringing her to me when she wanted me. Can we continue to work together for Charlotte's sake?
Lulu: We'll take it one day at a time.
Sonny: Can I take you home?
Carly: No, no.
Sonny: What do you mean, "No"? It's getting late. You look exhausted.
Carly: I don't want to leave Jason alone.
Sonny: I'm gonna come back and be with him.
Carly: You're not getting rid of me that easily.
Sonny: You promise?
Carly: [Chuckles] Promise.
Sonny: All right, can I at least talk you into, uh, some coffee?
Carly: Mm, that, you can do.
Dante: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will --
Franco: Oh, come on. Is that really necessary? Nobody's gonna press charges. You're okay not pressing charges, right?
Elizabeth: Y-yeah, it's just paint.
Franco: She's free to go, right?
Dante: Well, that's your call.
Cara: [Scoffs] If you expect me to thank you...
Franco: I don't.
Cara: I hope you burn in hell. And, trust me, there will be people lined up to toss that match.
Elizabeth: You okay?
Franco: Never better.
Elizabeth: Where have you been?
Franco: [Sighs] I've been -- I... I, um, just needed some fresh air, that's all.
Elizabeth: In -- in the middle of your art show?
Felix: Hey. Now that the drama's over, I'm gonna take off.
André: Uh, yeah, so am I.
Elizabeth: Okay, thanks for coming, you guys.
André: Despite everything, congratulations on a successful opening.
Franco: Thank you.
Felix: I'm glad you're okay.
Elizabeth: Thanks. [Sighs]
Franco: I'm sorry you had to be mixed up in all this.
Elizabeth: No, don't apologize.
Franco: I have a past. I do. It doesn't...ever stop rearing its ugly head.
Scott: Okay, how about a nightcap now that you're rolling in the dough?
Elizabeth: I can't. I've got to get back to work.
Franco: Now? Right now?
Elizabeth: Yeah, they're moving Jason to a long-term care facility tomorrow, and I just want to be there and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Franco: I'll go with you.
Dante: Oh, what's going on? What are you two night owls doing?
Lulu: We are making a friendship bracelet for Bailey.
Dante: Oh, that's nice.
Charlotte: In case she has to go to the hospital.
Charlotte: Papa says they'll be able to help her and make her all better.
Lulu: Okay, I think this one is done. It's beautiful. You ready for bed? Okay, you know what? Go brush your teeth, and I'll be right up to tuck you in.
Charlotte: All right.
Charlotte: Good night.
Dante: Good night. So, how did it go?
Lulu: Uh, as much as I hate to say it, you were right. Going to see Valentin was the right call.
Nina: That was really hard for you, wasn't it? Having that talk with Charlotte?
Valentin: Yeah. [Sighs]
Nina: How come?
Valentin: I guess I was ashamed.
Nina: Ashamed? You had an illness. It wasn't your fault.
Valentin: Charlotte loves me and I want to be her hero. When she comes to me, I want her to think I can move mountains.
Nina: You probably can.
Valentin: I don't want her to see me as "less than." Sickly. Weak. God forbid she ever sees a picture of the way I used to look.
Nina: Okay. First of all, sickly? Maybe. Even though I hate that word. But weak? Never, ever. And, yeah, she'll probably see a picture. [Sighs] Probably she'll come across it by accident, or she'll be curious, because she'll want to know what you used to look like. She'll be horrified. Was I horrified? Was I? No. Maybe a little startled, because you just look so different. That's all. And maybe Charlotte will be startled. But then she'll see the man in that photograph and know it's you, 'cause she'll -- she'll look at the eyes. And she'll see the hero that moves mountains for her. That's all that matters, because she loves you. Just like that's all that matters to me.
Valentin: [Kisses Nina's hand]
Darya: The only Cassadine I know of is Valentin. Why?
Ava: I said the name, and that's when he grabbed my wrist.
Darya: This is exactly why you should never go near him. He's strong and fast and impossible to predict. You see, because of the psychosis, we can't understand what he sees. He may think he's surrounded by monsters. I will have to report this incident, and I'm afraid they will increase his medication again.
Ava: No, no. Please don't do that. I was told not to go near him, and I really don't want anybody else to know that I broke the rules. And I sure don't want him on more medication because of me.
Darya: All right. I'll let it go this once, but, please, you must realize your actions -- they have consequences for him.
Ava: Yes. I'll leave him alone.
Darya: Okay, good. Let me see you back to your room.
[Door opens, closes]
Franco: How is he?
Elizabeth: The same. I think this is the first I've seen him alone since he's been admitted.
Franco: Where's Sam?
Elizabeth: She and Alexis are touring the new facility.
Franco: Makes sense.
Elizabeth: So, you got me here. And I'm fine. I want you to go home and get some sleep.
Franco: Without you?
Elizabeth: You'll manage. You know, those things that woman said --
Franco: Cara. Her name is Cara.
Elizabeth: They're coming from a place of -- of grief and anger, and she can't get past that. But you're not "sick." You're not a monster. You're the man who's made me the happiest I've ever been. Who puts a smile on my boys' faces and who makes every day an adventure. Just hold on to that, okay?
Franco: [Unenthusiastically] Yeah, okay.
Elizabeth: That's not very convincing.
Franco: Um, you're probably just -- it's been a...long day, and I'm -- I am tired.
Elizabeth: I love you.
Franco: I love you.
Elizabeth: Okay. Go home and get some rest. See you in the morning.
Franco: If you and I are really connected by blood, Jason, then I need for you to wake up now. I need you to wake up and tell me who you are. So I can figure out who I am and why I've done all of the things that I've done.
Lulu: I hate Valentin for a million different reasons, but even I have to admit -- he was great with Charlotte tonight.
Dante: You know, so were you. You, uh -- you put her first.
Lulu: With a little push from my husband.
Dante: Hm. You know, I'll push you, uh -- I'll push you anytime.
Lulu: Oh, yeah?
Dante: Yeah, in fact, I can, uh... I can push you right now.
Dante: If you want. Mm-hmm.
Lulu: Mm-hmm. Yeah?
Dante: Mm. You know what? It's messy, and it's complicated. But I think we're doing all right.
Lulu: Yeah. We are.
Dante: Yeah. Mm. Mm.
Valentin: Well, the next step is to have Bailey fully examined by a doctor. Now, I have a -- a connection to Shriners Hospitals for Children. They have helped many children with scoliosis. If you'd like, I can make an appointment. I can call you back with a time. Would you like me to accompany you? I'm happy to do that. And how would Bailey feel about Charlotte coming along? Okay, well, try not to worry, Ms. Caldwell. With early diagnosis and treatment, I think Bailey's gonna be just fine.
Nina: You okay?
Valentin: Yeah, I'm fine. I just can't help but put myself in that poor woman's shoes. I-I always used to worry about Charlotte. I hoped she wouldn't have scoliosis, and then she'd suffer the way that I'd suffered.
Nina: But she wouldn't. Because you would have been there for her, to help her and to love her. The way that nobody was there for you.
Valentin: Well, there's no use dwelling on it. It's over now.
Nina: I wish I would have known you back then.
Valentin: [Scoffs] No, you don't.
Nina: Yeah, I do. I bet that I would have been able to see who you really were. I would have been able to see who you really were inside all of that. And if you would have kissed me, I would have kissed you back.
Valentin: Well, that's easy for you to say now.
Nina: Yeah, it's easy. Who knows how I would have reacted back then? Who knows what -- what would have been going through my mind? But I'll tell you what's going through my mind now. I am in awe of you.
Valentin: Oh, stop it.
Nina: I am. I'm not gonna stop. You've suffered so much. You've been through so much pain. Look at you. Look what you've become. You're incredible. And it doesn't make you "less than." It makes you "more than." 'Cause you've survived it all. And you, my love... ...are incredible.

Sonny: Yeah, I know.
Carly: Can I tell you something I haven't told anybody? You know, I have -- I've been grieving for him, you know, and for Sam and the kids, but the one person I'm not grieving for is myself. It's because, you know, that connection that I had with Jason -- I never really got it back.
