Campbell: Did the defendant, by his actions, make himself Olivia Jerome's accomplice? Yes or no?
Alexis: He was being coerced.
Campbell: Was the defendant acting as her accomplice, yes or no?
Alexis: There were extenuating circumstan--
Campbell: Ms. Davis, could that night on the bridge have been avoided if the defendant had told you the truth?
Alexis: I don't know. Maybe.
Campbell: I'm sorry? Did you just say it's possible?
Alexis: Yes. It's possible.
Campbell: Olivia Jerome committed multiple acts of kidnapping, attempted murder, and murder.
Alexis: No question. But Julian shouldn't be held accountable for Olivia's actions.
Campbell: Ms. Davis, if the defendant had told you his sister was on a crime spree, would you have gone to the police? Yes or no?
Campbell: So, if the defendant had trusted you with the truth, all that terror and bloodshed could have been prevented?
Alexis: Yes. That... [Sighs] That's an accurate conclusion.
Dante: Hey, man, how are Mac and Felicia doing?
Nathan: They're fine -- I think. Why?
Dante: Oh, you know, I just haven't seen them a lot lately, and wondered if maybe they'd made any time for themselves at the park. [Chuckles]
Nathan: Lulu told you.
Dante: [Laughs] Man, are you kidding me? That's amazing. Kudos to them for spicing up the marriage like that.
Nathan: Yeah, easy for you to say. Imagine if it was Kevin and Laura.
Dante: Ooh, nope.
Nathan: No, no.
Dante: Not picturing that, man.
Nathan: Imagine if you were the one who had to go and convince Valerie not to bust your in-laws on indecent exposure.
Dante: Mm. Why don't you just confront this "Ask Man Landers" guy? I mean, he's the one who got Mac to get his freak on in public, isn't he? I heard Maxie's pretty riled up.
Nathan: Yeah, well, Maxie's got her hands full with work, and so do we. Jordan's on our case to close the book on your father's shooter.
Sonny: I got it.
Carly: I know, but just let me help you.
Sonny: No, no, I-I said I got it.
Carly: I don't want you doing too much too soon.
Sonny: Yeah, but's it not like I'm -- I'm just walking across the room, not running a marathon. Plus, I know how to use -- ow!
Carly: Well, I wouldn't know that you know how to use a cane, because you were doing that in secret, remember, when you were pretending to be in a wheelchair?
Sonny: Forget I said that.
Carly: And why were you in that wheelchair? Oh, 'cause of the last time you had a bullet wound.
Sonny: Okay, fair enough. You got to trust that I know what I'm doing.
Carly: I do trust you. I do. And I know you would never keep a secret that would come between us again.
Sonny: You're like family to me, right? I-I would do anything for you and Jason.
Sonny: I know it wasn't you, Sam. You didn't mean to do this.
Sam: Yes, I did.
Jason: Hey. Bad dream?
Sam: It wasn't a dream.
Hayden: The payments started yesterday. Yeah. That's correct. Rachel Berlin DBA, White Hat Limited Medical Supplies.
Finn: Rachel Berlin?
Hayden: Oh, uh, I'll call you back. Hey. I thought you were doing rounds.
Finn: Yeah, I-I was. I...forgot the card for the...cactus. It was... it was in my, um... w-what was that?
Hayden: What was what?
Finn: The phone call.
Hayden: Um, oh, just work. You know, lots to do before the wedding and the honeymoon.
Finn: Why did you call yourself "Rachel Berlin"?
Scott: Ms. Davis, let's focus on the night of Olivia Jerome's capture. What is your recollection of those hours?
Alexis: It was tumultuous. She attacked me. She drugged me. She kidnapped me. She handcuffed me... to the footbridge at the entrance of Roebling Park.
Scott: But yet you're here to tell the tale. Why is that?
Alexis: Julian. She used me as bait to get him to the bridge.
Scott: What was her end game?
Alexis: She wanted him to shoot me, and if he didn't do it, she was gonna do it herself.
Alexis: To take away the most precious thing to him... as punishment.
Scott: So, in order to torture her own brother, she was gonna kill you?
Campbell: Objection -- calls for speculation.
Judge Chua: I'll allow it.
Alexis: That's right.
Scott: So there you were, a sitting duck, a bullet coming your way. It -- it didn't matter who was gonna deliver it.
Scott: So is Julian just a bad shot?
Alexis: No. He's an excellent shot. He aimed the gun in my direction, but not at me -- at the handcuffs that were holding me in place.
Scott: So he shot the handcuffs right off your wrists.
Alexis: And he yelled for me to run.
Scott: Did you?
Alexis: Yes, I ran. And then I heard a gunshot, and I turned back, and Olivia was there, standing there alone.
Scott: So you assumed that she had shot Julian.
Alexis: There was nothing else to assume. What were my options? There was no other reason he disappeared. And later that was confirmed.
Scott: Confirmed how?
Alexis: I was told that Olivia Jerome shot him, and he fell into the water.
Scott: So would you say that Julian's actions that night were that of a coward?
Scott: Would you say that Julian put his life on the line to save you?
Scott: Well, wouldn't you say that was true heroism?
Campbell: Objection -- leading.
Alexis: Yes. I would agree.
Hayden: Are you eavesdropping on me?
Hayden: You could've knocked.
Finn: I did knock.
Hayden: And did you hear me say come in?
Finn: The door was unlocked, and since when d-- what's happening? What business does Rachel Berlin have with GH?
Hayden: W-- [Scoffs] It's so stupid. I was -- I was setting up a vendor account for the new medical-supply company, and I just typed in my old name. Guess it still slips out sometimes.
Hayden: What, you don't believe me?
Finn: It just didn't sound that way from your side of the conversation. I heard "Rachel Berlin DBA White Hat Medical," blah, blah, blah. I mean, isn't that the company that the GH bank flagged for suspicious activity?
Hayden: It's complicated.
Finn: I'm sure it is, and I don't presume to know anything about finance. That's your department.
Hayden: Thank you. [Sighs]
Finn: You seem, um... you seem uncomfortable, sweetheart, and all defensive.
Hayden: Well, maybe I don't like being snuck up on.
Finn: Who snuck up on you?
Hayden: You did.
Hey. What's happening right now? You know, is this -- is this about the wedding? Are you rethinking things?
Hayden: No! I'm doing everything to make sure we get married. But obviously it isn't enough.
Finn: What isn't? What have you done?
Carly: Good news. Epiphany can start your physical therapy next week.
Sonny: Why is that good news?
Carly: Because the sooner you start rehab, the sooner you're back on your feet.
Sonny: I'm on my feet.
Carly: One of which is supported by a cane. You were shot in the leg.
Sonny: Uh, you say that like I wasn't there, Carly.
Carly: I'm wondering if you realize what happened to you. You're not taking this seriously.
Sonny: Yeah. I am.
Carly: No, you're not. It's like you like hobbling around on one leg.
Sonny: For now.
Carly: No, forever, unless you do your physical therapy.
Sonny: [Groans] All right, I will do it.
Carly: Thank you.
Sonny: You're welcome.
Carly: [Sighs] I'm sorry. I'm sorry I got so worked up. I'm just...
Sonny: Are you okay?
Carly: I just hate being here. I do. I mean, aside from babies being born, every time I've been here, it's because something terrible has happened. I'm ready for things to change.
Sonny: They will.
Carly: You sure about that?
Sam: I shot Sonny.
Jason: You were too sick to know what you were doing.
Sam: No, I wasn't too sick to go and buy a gun. I wasn't too sick to follow him to the demolition site.
Jason: Okay. You were physically capable of taking action. But you didn't have the mental capacity to understand what you were doing. It's not your fault.
Sam: You sound like a lawyer. Have you already talked to Diane?
Jason: No, I haven't, actually, and I hope I don't have to. Three people know what happened. You, me, and Sonny. And as long as everybody keeps their mouth shut... ...there's nothing to worry about.
Sam: There is for me.
Dante: Sonny's initial account pretty much matches the evidence at the scene.
Nathan: Pretty much?
Dante: Still got a couple loose ends to tie up.
Nathan: Okay, go.
Dante: The fact that Michael took Carly to Sonny's location... with a shell casing he found at the site? I mean, how did he find that?
Nathan: I don't know, man. And?
Dante: Sonny's and Garvey's guns both missing. And there's this.
Nathan: Ballistics report. The bullets taken from Sonny Corinthos' leg and bulletproof vest.
Dante: Notice anything strange?
Nathan: This makes the Michael angle a low priority.
Dante: Let's go. We got an interview to conduct.
Sam: I keep remembering the shooting and dreaming about it, and I remember Sonny trying to get through to me, and I shot him anyway. Jason, how could I do that? I don't care how sick I was.
Jason: [Sighs] It wasn't your fault. And you're being treated so it's never gonna happen again, okay? No one needs to know the real story.
Sam: Oh, really? So it just lays on my conscience for the rest of my life?
Jason: Well, it's better than you being behind bars, isn't it? You think that's gonna be better?
Sam: No, I don't -- I don't care. I don't care if I'm convicted. I want to confess. I want to take responsibility for what I did.
Jason: Okay, listen to me. It's not about the lawyers or the money they cost. And you know what? I'm willing to bet that you wouldn't be convicted. But at least you'll be investigated. You'll be brought in on a pro forma arrest. You're still suffering from encephalitis. It's a big deal.
Sam: I know it is.
Jason: Okay, then let's agree that being in the hospital is better than being in jail, and our version of what happened is already set in motion, so if you come forward now, it's gonna hurt a lot of people.
Sam: Okay. I mean, I don't want to do anything that's gonna hurt Sonny anymore.
Jason: And I don't want you hurt anymore. So can we agree this is the best solution?
Jason: Okay. I love you.
Sam: I love you.
Jason: Everything's gonna work out, I promise.
Sonny: I told you. I'm getting out of the business, and I am. I want out of it as much as you do.
Carly: I get that, but wanting it just may not be enough. It's going to be difficult, Sonny.
Sonny: I know.
Carly: Not just the logistics, okay? You've had a lot of power for many years, power that has given you major advantages for you, your friends, your family.
Sonny: What are you doing, Carly?
Carly: I'm just saying that, you know... if you're having second thoughts --
Sonny: I'm not.
Carly: If you are, I get it. I do.
Sonny: You trying to talk me out of it?
Carly: No, I'm not. But I know that you're -- I know you're walking away from the business for me.
Sonny: No, for us, for our family, for Avery, for Josslyn, for Kristina, and Morgan's memory.
Sonny: I mean...
Carly: Just, please, please understand the most important thing above everything else is that we have to be honest with each other. It's the only way this is gonna work.
Finn: If you're in some kind of trouble...
Hayden: It is so too late for that conversation.
Finn: [Sighs] Then let me help you. At least talk to me. Help me understand what it is I'm hearing.
Hayden: You think I'm stealing from GH?
Finn: What? No. I know you would never do that, but to an outsider, it just all seems a little sketchy.
Hayden: I told you the Rachel Berlin thing.
Finn: Right, it was a slip-up. But just it seems deliberate, like something a cop would interpret as theft or embezzlement.
Hayden: It's neither of those things.
Finn: I believe you. I do. So just help me understand, you know, 'cause if Monica or Michael catch wind of this thing, they might think you're trying to pull some kind of scam like your father.
Hayden: I'm not like him.
Finn: I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that.
Hayden: And this is different because I was going to give the money back.
Scott: So, how did you feel when you realized that you had been deceived?
Alexis: I was terrified for my children, and I was livid at Julian.
Scott: Are you still livid?
Alexis: My feelings for him have tempered.
Scott: When did that tempering begin?
Alexis: When I received a letter that he wrote prior to his confrontation with Olivia.
Scott: This letter. Would you read it into evidence?
Scott: Whenever you're ready, send up a flare.
Alexis: "Alexis, if you are reading this, then I guess I'm dead. You seeing these words means our life together is truly, finally over. Well, that breaks my heart. There is one good thing that can come from this. I can finally tell you the truth about me, my sister Olivia, and you. A long time ago, I thought I had killed my sister Olivia, Liv, as you've come to know her. I was sadly mistaken. Last spring she showed up in Port Charles, bent on revenge. She said she wanted a life for the life I had tried to take and for the one I had taken. I begged Olivia to take my life. I wronged her. Nobody else, but she wasn't satisfied. She ordered me to kill the person I love above all other -- you. If I were to fail or refuse, she would kill Sam, Lucas, and Leo. I was determined to find a way to stop her. I had one mission -- to protect my family, especially you, because I never, ever stopped loving you. I hope you find all the peace and happiness this world can give you. I couldn't wish that for anyone the way I wish it for you. Again, I love you, Alexis, even now when I'm gone."
Scott: So, does this letter change your perspective of my client?
Alexis: Yes. It helped me to understand that he was under duress and that he was his sister's unwilling partner and that he was doing everything he can to fend her off and keep his family alive.
Scott: Why do you think he lied about Olivia Jerome's identity?
Alexis: To protect his family.
Scott: So, prior to that night on the footbridge, how would you describe your relationship with my client?
Scott: Well, how -- how was your relationship today?
Scott: But it's better than it was that night on the footbridge.
Alexis: Knowing the truth makes it easier to be in his presence.
Scott: Enough to rekindle the flame?
Julian: Okay, Scott, that's enough! Please.
Judge Chua: [Bangs gavel] Mr. Baldwin, restrain your client or you will both be cited for contempt.
Scott: Julian, sit down and be quiet. Let me rephrase the question. Now that you know the truth and you see my client for the hero that he is, you have forgiven him.
Campbell: Objection -- leading.
Alexis: No. I haven't.
Finn: You're gonna give it back?
Finn: So you did take the money.
Hayden: Yes. But look. Look. See this? See this right here? This is GH's money, and this -- this is -- this is payments made from hospital accounts to White Hat Limited Medical Supplies.
Finn: Which is you.
Hayden: Yes, but I didn't take that much. See, there's only just a few payments there. I-I just set it up yesterday. But I couldn't go through with it.
Finn: You did go through with it.
Hayden: Yes, but I'm going to return it.
Hayden: Every single ce-- right now, okay? Right now, all right? There. Done. That's what you walked in on, me clearing the way with the bank. You think I'm lying. You think the only reason I decided to give the money back is because the bank was on to me.
Finn: Ah, the last thing I'm thinking about right now is the stupid bank.
Hayden: You're thinking about what a horrible person I am.
Finn: No, I just -- I just want to know why.
Hayden: Why what?
Finn: Why'd you take the money? W-we don't need money.
Hayden: It wasn't for us. I wasn't gonna buy a house or jewelry or strollers. I was gonna buy our freedom.
Finn: Freedom from what?
Hayden: My ex-husband.
Carly: So, do you remember anything about the shooting?
Sonny: No, look. I was shot and I was left in a hole.
Carly: I know, but anything else? I mean, everything that happened after?
Sonny: I'm gonna re-- I can't remember right now. I'm sure in time it's gonna come back.
Carly: Okay, okay. I understand, yeah.
[Knock on door]
Jason: Got a minute?
Carly: He does, actually, 'cause I'm gonna go see about getting this man discharged.
Sonny: All right. Okay. Hey. I-I need this case on my shooting closed now.
Jason: I understand. Carly asking a lot of questions?
Sonny: Yeah, she's talking about trust and honesty. It's gonna get ugly when we tell her.
Jason: You thinking about doing that now?
Sonny: No. Too risky. Not while Sam is taking the fall. We'll figure it out, and we'll tell her when we need to tell her. You know what I mean?
Jason: Yeah. I'm with you.
Sonny: How's Sam?
Jason: Y-you know, physically, I think she's okay, but mentally, she's, uh... she's struggling, you know?
Sonny: She's not thinking of confessing?
Jason: No, I'm pretty sure I convinced her that's not the way to go.
Sonny: Yeah, that's -- that's the perfect thing to do because the ball is rolling. We can't go back now.
[Knock on door]
Dante: How you feeling?
Sonny: Oh, just like a million bucks, you know? I'll be getting out of here soon.
Nathan: You rebound quick.
Sonny: Looks like this isn't a social call.
Dante: Ah, yeah, it's not. Got to ask you some questions about the night you got shot.
Carly: Hey. How are you?
Sam: Oh, I'm okay.
Carly: Should you be out of bed?
Sam: Um, well, I needed to talk to Sonny, actually. But now that you're here, I... I owe you a conversation.
Scott: Do you ever see yourself forgiving my client?
Campbell: Objection -- more calls for speculation, your honor.
Judge Chua: Sustained. Mr. Baldwin, if you have questions for this witness, make them relevant and ask them now, otherwise I'll assume you're intentionally stalling this court.
Scott: No further questions.
Judge Chua: You're free to go, Ms. Davis. This court is in recess until tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
Julian: Alexis, I'm so sorry. I had no idea that Scott was going there. That wasn't part of the plan.
Finn: Well, Nikolas is no longer with us, so we must be talking about your first husband. Jared, right? I thought you weren't in touch.
Hayden: We weren't. But then he shows up out of nowhere and starts making demands.
Finn: Wait. Is this the guy that showed up the other day saying you were his work wife, called...Adam?
Hayden: He couldn't give his real name without clueing you in, and if you knew, he'd lose his leverage.
Finn: Knew what?
Hayden: It doesn't matter.
Finn: It matters, Hayden.
Hayden: [Sniffles] Four years ago, I had too much to drink. And I got behind the wheel of a car, and I hit a young girl walking her dog.
Finn: Did she die?
Hayden: No, thank God, but... I hurt her very badly. [Sniffles] Jared took the rap for me with the understanding that my father's money and connections that he would get off with a slap of the wrist. And a big reward. But instead he went to prison.
Finn: And now he's out and he wants paid.
Hayden: But the money's gone. He said if I didn't find a way to come up with it...
Finn: He'd out you.
Hayden: And now you know everything anyway, so... [Sobbing]
Finn: Why didn't you tell me you were in trouble? The minute he showed his face, why didn't you come to me?
Hayden: I couldn't.
Finn: Why not? You were too ashamed?
Hayden: I mean, of course. I don't want you knowing this about me. It's not my proudest moment.
Finn: And I don't know shame or guilt or self-loathing? Your love got me through addiction. Why didn't you let my love help you through this?
Hayden: Because --
Finn: I should've been the one person in the world that you could trust with anything.
Hayden: You are.
Finn: Not if you can't ever lean on me.
Hayden: You want the truth?
Finn: Yeah, let's try that.
Hayden: I did it for you. At least that's what I told myself.
Finn: How is any of this for me?
Hayden: I was terrified that if you found out the truth that you would go back to doing drugs.
Dante: Well, now that your head's cleared up, we need to take your statement.
Sonny: [Groans] You don't have to stay. He doesn't have to go, right?
Dante: No. Jason can stay if that's what you want.
Sonny: Yeah, I want him to stay.
Dante: Okay. Why don't you take us through what happened the night you got shot?
Sonny: Uh... I, uh, went to pay Spencer's ransom. Got a text that the kidnapper was there.
Dante: And Garvey revealed himself, right? So, this whole thing, it wasn't about Spencer at all. This was about you.
Sonny: Garvey shot me.
Dante: In the bulletproof vest, right? What happened after that?
Sonny: First hit -- it's the only thing I remember.
Dante: So you were shot in the leg and pushed into a pit and you have no recollection of any of that happening?
Sonny: Dante, sometimes when you're bleeding for 24 hours, it does something to your memory.
Nathan: So you can't give us any details, not even if they're hazy?
Sonny: [Sighs] Last thing I remember was Garvey shooting me in the bulletproof vest.
Dante: Was someone else there?
Sonny: Not that I recall.
Dante: Because ballistics pulled the two bullets -- the one from the vest and the one from your leg -- and they come from two different guns.
Carly: It is really good to see you up, moving around.
Carly: Things got pretty scary there for a while.
Sam: Yeah. Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better. It was not easy.
Carly: I'm sure it wasn't. If there's anything I can do, please let me know.
Sam: Are you kidding me? I should be asking you. Are you okay?
Carly: Yeah. I mean, I have my hands full with Sonny, and there was that Garvey guy.
Sam: Yeah. I heard you were the one who brought him down.
Carly: Yeah. I know. It's...awful to be thankful that someone's dead, but when I think about how close I came to losing Sonny, I just...wow. Anyway, I'm sorry. I am really sorry about that.
Sam: No, no, no, no. You don't -- you don't have to be sorry.
Carly: I just don't want to dwell on the night.
Carly: I don't. And I don't want to take over the conversation. You said you wanted to tell me something or talk about something.
Sam: Yeah. I need to tell you the truth.
Dante: So you got no idea where the second gun came from or if there was anyone else on the site?
Sonny: Wish I could tell you, Dante.
Dante: Right. But you can't 'cause you don't remember. Okay. Uh...thanks for your time.
Sonny: No problem, Dante.
Nathan: If anything comes back to you...
Sonny: I'll let you know.
Dante: Glad you're feeling better, Sonny.
Jason: Think that's the end of it?
Sonny: Not by a long shot.
Carly: Okay, this sounds a little, um, heavy. Tell me the truth about what?
Sam: My illness, the toxoplasmosis, um, it really affected my head, and I wasn't really seeing things clearly, and some of the things that I was seeing, they -- they weren't really there.
Carly: That must have been terrifying.
Sam: Yeah. It magnified my feelings. I was -- I was scared, Carly. I was scared all of the time, of things that I had never been afraid of before.
Carly: Like what?
Sam: I mean, mostly losing Jason. I thought I was gonna lose him all over again, and every time he walked out the door, I would panic.
Carly: Okay, but that's not crazy. We thought we lost him before.
Sam: I know. This was different, though. It was... okay, um, I'll be more specific. Uh... m-my illness... I would do things and -- and say things, things that I would do anything to take back.
Carly: Do you want to tell me about them?
Sam: Yeah, I feel like I have to because it involves Sonny.
Sam: Okay. I went off on him. I, um, I really -- I really lost it on him. I was afraid that he was gonna take Jason away from me, and I was afraid that he was always putting Jason in danger.
Carly: Hey, you know that was your illness talking and that Sonny would never do anything.
Sam: No, I know that, and Sonny tried to tell me that. I just couldn't hear him. I really thought he was gonna take Jason away from me and the kids, I did, so... [Sighs] I had to do something about it.
Finn: Is that how little faith you have in my recovery? One piece of bad news, and you think I'm back to using?
Hayden: It wasn't just bad news. I lied to you. I might not have told you if I hadn't been forced to.
Finn: It would have taken some time to get through this, but come on. I'm no saint. I would've understood, and I would've stayed clean.
Hayden: Okay! I'm sorry. Maybe it was just easier to use that excuse. Better than facing the alternative.
Finn: Which is?
Hayden: That I'm a coward.
Finn: Okay, so, there's a lot of things we haven't been saying to each other.
Hayden: No. You mean we're not perfect, like you and Reiko?
Finn: Don't do that.
Hayden: I bet she never lied to you or embezzled any money. She certainly didn't hit a girl with a car.
Finn: We're not talking about her.
Hayden: But she's always there, hovering in her superior glory, and you know the best part? She's dead, so she can literally do no wrong for the rest of our lives. [Sobbing] I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't -- I didn't mean that. [Sobs] I don't...
Finn: Yeah. Yeah, I love Reiko. In my eyes, she was... she was perfect, but I... I let go of her and I accepted that loss because of you, because I love you. I love you...more than anything in this world, Hayden, and because I thought we understood each other, but now -- now I find out you can't even turn to me, because you think I'm gonna relapse? I don't even know what to do with that.
Hayden: Yeah, you do. You just don't want to say the words.
Alexis: I need to go.
Julian: Please, if you could just give me two minutes, please, Alexis.
Alexis: Being seen with me isn't going to be good for your case.
Julian: Well, I don't care. I-I just want you to know I never told Scott about any thaw between us.
Alexis: Implying that I had gone soft on you is not good strategy for you, and I'm not surprised at all that Scott came up with that all on his own. [Sighs] I'm sorry if I disappointed you with my testimony.
Julian: That you haven't forgiven me yet? That's not exactly a surprise.
Alexis: The truth is I didn't even know I was gonna say that. I... I didn't even know that I was thinking it.
Julian: Sometimes swearing an oath makes people own up to their true feelings. I know how you feel.
Alexis: Then I'm grateful that I didn't blindside you.
Julian: Look, I have to ask you just one more thing.
Scott: Julian, let's get out of here before she does any more damage.
Julian: She was just telling the truth, Scotty. Look, I have to know one more thing, please.
Scott: No, you don't have to know anything.
Julian: Look, before it ended, Scott asked you if you could ever see yourself forgiving me. If the judge had let you answer, what would you have said?
Alexis: I would say that I'm committed to living my life one day at a time. I don't know what the future holds.
Finn: Please don't put words in my mouth.
Hayden: Fine. By all means, go ahead.
Finn: This is... I haven't even begun to wrap my head around it. And, you know, some other couple, it probably tears them apart. But not us. Not you and me, because I love you. We're gonna have a baby. Right? We're bringing a life into this world. For better or worse, right? That's what they say, for better or worse. So we're going through the "worse" right now. And to get to the "better," we got to try not just to say the right things, but also mean them, to live them, to honor them.
Hayden: Well, good luck with that. Let me know when you figured it out.
Dante: Two witnesses -- one's dead and one refuses to talk.
Nathan: Yeah. Buying Sonny's whole "I don't remember" routine?
Dante: Of course, I don't.
Nathan: Okay, so why is he stonewalling?
Dante: Because there's something he doesn't want us to find out.
Nathan: The identity of the third person?
Dante: If there is a third shooter. I guess Garvey could've had two guns, shot Sonny in the chest with one, in the leg with the other.
Nathan: I don't know, man. That doesn't seem very likely to me.
Dante: Oh, I know. And even if he did, Sonny would've disarmed him at some point and he wouldn't let him get a second shot off.
Nathan: Okay, so we go with the second shooter theory. You got any ideas?
Dante: Yeah, sure. None of them good. There was obviously someone, a rival, maybe someone from one of the five families.
Nathan: Or somebody sent by them.
Dante: Look, there's only one reason why Sonny would stay quiet right now.
Nathan: Because he wants to retaliate on his own.
Dante: He uses one of his own contacts to take this guy out, and he starts an all-out mob war. So much for getting out of the business.
Carly: Whatever it is, whatever happened, you can't be held accountable. It isn't your fault.
Sam: I don't think you really understand. I was so scared. I mean, so scared that I was gonna lose Jason that I was willing to do anything to protect him, so...
Jason: Hey. Sam, I thought you were gonna wait for me in your room.
Sam: I wanted to talk to Sonny, but I r--
Carly: Ran into me.
Carly: And we had to catch up.
Sonny: Sam. I'm getting discharged today. When I get settled in, I'll come see you.
Jason: Hey. What do you say we get you back to bed?
Carly: Feel better.
Sam: Thank you.
Jason: See you guys.
Carly: That illness really has her shook her up.
Sonny: What were you guys talking about?
Carly: Oh, just her symptoms and her sickness. It's awful.
Sonny: Yeah, Jason told me as much.
Carly: She talked about you.
Sonny: Me? Why?
Carly: She yelled at you about Jason?
Sonny: Yeah. It was -- it was nothing. S-she wasn't in her right mind.
Carly: Hmm. Seemed like something more. It did. She seemed really torn up about something she did. Do you have any idea what it was?
On the next "General Hospital" --
Monica (to Ned and Olivia): I decide who goes and who stays.
Finny (to Curtis): You knew this and you didn't tell me about it?
Liesl (to Jared): My target is Doctor Hamilton Finn.
Dante (to Nathan): The gun from the dumpster matches the bullet out of Sonny's leg.
Jason (to Julian): We're gonna have a talk about Sam.
Sam (to Alexis): It's important to tell the truth.
Michael (to Sonny): Who shot you?
