Nathan: Hey, listen. We got a problem. Yeah, about "that." Things got weird, okay, like, really, really weird.
Maxie: I couldn't agree more. I've been standing here for like 30 seconds, and my husband has yet to swoop me into his arms.
Nathan: Hey, I got to call you back. Maxie!
Maxie: [Laughing] What are you waiting for?
Dante: Hey, we need more units on Poplar and the surrounding streets, and we got to canvas the area.
Laura: Any news?
Dante: I was just gonna call you. You might want to sit down.
Laura: I don't want to sit down. I want to know if you've found my grandson. Oh, my God. No. No!
Nina: Oh, gosh.
Anna: Oh, sorry. Sorry.
Nina: Sorry. Excuse me. Um, he's innocent, you know.
Anna: Oh, Valentin?
Nina: Yeah. He did not kidnap Spencer Cassadine. So you can call off your boys in blue.
Anna: [Sighs] The "Boys in blue," they don't work for me anymore.
Nina: Well, I'm sure that your word has some sort of weight.
Anna: You want me to vouch for him?
Nina: You know, forget it. You don't have to. He has a lot of people who believe in him. So don't worry about it. It'll be fine.
Valentin: Nina. [Breathing heavily]
Nina: Oh, my God. Valentin, what happened?
Jason: [Sighs] Voicemail.
Carly: I'm sure Sonny will check in soon.
Jason: Yeah, it's just weird that he would go off the grid while we're looking for Spencer.
Carly: Off the grid? Should I be worried?
Jason: No. No, I'm -- no. [Chuckles] I'm sorry. I'm sure it's nothing. I'm sure Sonny's just checking into another lead.
Sam: Toss the gun!
Sonny: Sam, what are you --
Sonny: Hey, hey. Okay, I'm putting it down.
Sam: Drop it!
Sonny: I'm dropping it! There's -- I'm unarmed! Does Jason know you're here?
Sam: Don't you get it, Sonny? Jason isn't coming to help you. Not now, not ever again. Now, you die.
Sonny: What's -- what's going on, Sam?
Sam: As long as you're breathing, we're not safe. As long as you're alive, you will follow us. So I... am the one who's gonna have to take you out.
Maxie: Well, seems like you missed me as much as I missed you. And you're completely shell-shocked, by the looks of it.
Nathan: I'm -- I'm go-- I'm fine. I'm just -- I'm really glad you're here. But you didn't -- you didn't tell me you were coming back to town.
Maxie: Because I wanted it to be a surprise, and that would kind of defeat the purpose. I also did not tell my mom and Mac. I knew if I did, they would be scheduling a family dinner, followed by a game night. And the only activity I'm interested in is being alone with you. But I just assumed that you didn't have any plans -- or if you did, you would drop them as soon as I showed up. I know it's a little presumptuous of me, but I've been on the other side of the country for the last several months, so I have a little right to presume. Should I have called first?
Nathan: No, no, no, no, no. No, you're fine. I'm just -- I'm really glad you're here. How did you know I was here?
Maxie: I called the police department. They said that you were working all night, so I figured you'd stop by here and get a bite to eat before you went home.
Nathan: Well, look at you. You have the makings of a very fine detective.
Maxie: Thank you! You're a pretty fine detective yourself. No, seriously, let's get out of here before we have to play charades.
Nathan: Yeah, wait, wait, wait, wait. So, the last time we talked, you made it sound like you wouldn't be able to get a weekend off until Thanksgiving if we were lucky. So, did something change? The editor change her mind and come back to work? Is this like a for-good thing?
Maxie: No. The only thing that editor is changing is diapers. I'm afraid they still need me.
Maxie: Look. But we do have the magazine to thank for this little mini-reunion. I'm on my way to a fashion industry conference in Paris, and my friends in business affairs made sure I had a layover here.
Nathan: Oh, so it's a layover? Then you're only here for like...
Maxie: Three hours. But I plan to make the most of it. Assuming whatever case it is that you are working on can wait.
Nathan: Oh, it's not -- it's not a case. It's just...
Maxie: No? It seemed kind of serious when you were on the phone. If it wasn't work, then who were you talking to?
Laura: Those are his glasses. Did you find him?
Dante: No. There was no sign of him, but there was also no sign that any harm had come to him. I just found the glasses. I wanted you to ID them.
Spencer: Admit it. You're happy I'm back.
Laura: I won't deny that I've missed you.
Spencer: But you don't have to miss me anymore. I was forced into exile because you feared my sinister uncle would do me harm. Now that Valentin's in police custody, I can safely return back to Port Charles permanently.
Laura: They're his. And they're broken. Where did you find them?
Dante: In a structure behind a vacant house on Poplar. We've got Forensics going over the place with a fine-toothed comb, okay? If there is a clue, we will find it.
Anna: Are you all right? You look a bit disheveled.
Valentin: Ah, it's nothing. I've had worse.
Anna: Tell us what happened to you.
Valentin: I was indisposed.
Anna: Okay. Well, I don't know that the PCPD will go for that answer. You're a suspect in the disappearance of Spencer Cassadine, and you've clearly been through some kind of physical altercation.
Valentin: I appreciate your concern, Anna, but I can handle myself.
Anna: Yeah, I don't doubt that for a second.
Nina: You want to tell me what happened?
Valentin: Not particularly.
Nina: You asked me to trust you regarding Spencer's disappearance. I'm asking you to trust me in return.
Valentin: I was... "questioned" by Jason Morgan.
Carly: Okay. So, this talk that you had with Valentin -- you're sure he had nothing to do with Spencer's disappearance?
Jason: He would be stupid to go after Spencer. And Valentin's a lot of things, but... he's not stupid. Thing's a dead end.
Carly: All right. So, where do we look next?
Jason: [Sighs] I start chasing down other leads, and you call me if Sonny calls you.
Carly: Okay. Hey. Kind of feels like old times.
Jason: Yes, it does.
Sonny: Sam, I-I don't want to hurt you.
Sam: What about Jason?
Sonny: What about Jason?
Sam: My husband! The father of my kids? I'm not gonna let you take him away from us!
Sonny: I'm not taking anybody away from you! I -- just put -- you got to put --
Sam: You think you have all the answers, don't you, Sonny? Somehow, some way, you always get what you want! I am not gonna let you talk your way out of this one!
Nina: Jason Morgan? Why would Jason Morgan do this to you? Why would he do this? Why, because Spencer is Sonny's nephew? And what, Jason is Sonny's "enforcer," which is really a nice way to say "hitman"?
Valentin: Shh. [Whispers] He didn't try to kill me.
Nina: Well, he -- he tried to enforce the truth out of you? I mean, this has got to stop. This is done.
Valentin: What are you -- what are you doing?
Nina: I'm calling the police.
Valentin: No, no, no!
Nina: You're giving a statement.
Valentin: Don't call -- don't call the PCPD. This is finished.
Nina: Are you sure about that?
Valentin: I'm pretty sure I convinced Jason Morgan I had nothing to do with Spencer's disappearance. He knows I wouldn't do anything in such a-a sloppy and obvious fashion.
Nina: He believed you?
Valentin: Yeah. He's about the only one who does, next to you.
Nina: You have to go to the PD, and you have to give a statement.
Valentin: I'm not pressing charges against Jason Morgan.
Nina: I'm not asking you to do that, although you're a lot nicer than I would be. Listen. Anna Devane is probably telling any cop she sees what you look like and that you've been in a fight. So if you don't give a statement, they're gonna cite you for -- for violating your bail. And then, they'll put you back in lockup.
Dante: Laura? Laura, listen to me. We -- we -- jumping to conclusions -- that's not gonna help Spencer at all, okay? Right now, we can't even be certain that Valentin had anything to do with his disappearance.
Laura: Yeah, it's a pretty safe bet. Don't you think? He sees Spencer as an obstacle who needs to be gotten rid of, just like he got rid of Nikolas.
Dante: Okay, but we don't have evidence right now. There's nothing tying Valentin to the disappearance.
Laura: We both know what Valentin is capable of when he feels like he's been backed into a corner. And if he lays one hand --
Dante: Okay, it's not gonna happen. Okay?
Man: Detective! We need you to sign off on these extra unis.
Dante: Yeah, I'll be right there. We're gonna get Spencer back, okay? I promise you that. Stay strong.
Valentin: Who's to say that Spencer isn't mourning for a father who isn't alive and well out there?
Laura: You can't do that to Spencer.
Valentin: I don't want to do anything. But I will protect what's mine by whatever means necessary.
Nathan: Who was I talking to?
Maxie: Yeah! You had that whole "trying not to look worried" look on your face when I walked in. So if it wasn't work, who was it?
Nathan: You know, why don't we talk about it on the way home?
Maxie: Wait, wait, wait, wait. What?
Nathan: I was just -- I was thinking maybe you were right before, you know? I mean, if your parents come here and they see you here, then we're never gonna get out of here without showing her pictures of Georgie and probably a round or two of charades.
Maxie: Okay, now I'm trying not to look worried.
Nathan: What? Why?
Maxie: Because whenever a guy tells you something is "nothing," that definitely means it is something. Because if it was really nothing, he would just tell you in the first place.
Nathan: Oh, so I'm -- I'm just "a guy" now?
Maxie: No, of course not. You're my wonderful husband... who happens to be a guy. Look, I'm sorry. I just read an entire "Ask Man Landers" column on this.
Nathan: "Ask Man Landers"?
Maxie: Yeah, you know him?
Nathan: I have a passing acquaintance. What, do you know him?
Maxie: I had to read a bunch of his articles for work. My magazine was actually trying to poach the guy before he went all high-brow and decided to sign a book deal. [Laughs] Good luck with that.
Nathan: Wait, you don't think it's a good idea?
Maxie: Look, I know he's really popular and everything. I just don't see how a blog's gonna fill an entire book. And if you ask me, kind of overrated.
Nathan: What do you mean, "overrated"?
Maxie: Kind of.
Nathan: Well, I think he gives great advice.
Maxie: Don't tell me you actually read his column.
Nathan: I may have glanced at it once or twice.
Maxie: [Laughing] No way. Why?
Nathan: All right, act-- you know, there is something I got to tell you.
Maxie: Now, this sounds serious.
Nathan: No, it -- [Scoffs] I've been meaning to tell you for a while. I just -- it's one of those "better in person" kind of things, you know.
Felicia: These flowers are just beautiful, but I still don't know why you got them for me.
Mac: Does a guy have to have a reason to give his beautiful bride flowers?
Felicia: [Giggles] Maxie!
Felicia: Maxie! Oh, my goodness!
Maxie: Hi, Mom.
Felicia: You're back!
Felicia: When did you get in?
Felicia: Did you just get in on your flight?
Felicia: Tell me about it. How was the flight? Was it a good one?
Anna: Hey, Patrick? I was just thinking about you guys. How's Robin? She's got to be dying to get this -- what? Oh, my God!
Carly: You know, there are a lot of excellent reasons for Sonny to leave the business, and I did everything I could to encourage him. But at the same time, he's walking away from a lot of power -- power he could use right now. I mean, we both know that Sonny has a better chance of finding Spencer than the cops.
Jason: No doubt.
Carly: But that makes me a hypocrite! It does, because I'm going on and on about wanting a peaceful life, and the second I have someone I care about in trouble, I want Sonny to do whatever it takes.
Jason: That doesn't make you a hypocrite. That makes you a realist. And if Sonny's connections can find Spencer, then that's what Sonny's gonna use.
Carly: And Sonny's gonna have to do everything he can to get Spencer back. And I know what "everything" means. Sonny's going to end up owing a lot of people, and they're gonna want to collect. I don't know, Jason. Maybe I'm just naive, thinking that Sonny could just make a clean break at all.
Jason: Well, I haven't met a person who can call you naive just yet.
Jason: But Sonny can get out of the life. I promise you that. Look at me. I'm out.
Carly: I know, I know, and I know how difficult that was for you. And I'm glad you made that decision. I am. But it's different for you. You know, Sonny's the boss. You got to walk away, because Sonny gave you his blessing. When Sonny tries to go, he's gonna leave behind a lot of unhappy people.
Sonny: If you're gonna shoot me, Sam, shoot me in the back.
Sam: You told me exactly what you were gonna do to Jason. Do you think I would just sit back and let it happen?
Sonny: When did I say anything?!
Sam: Stop with the lies! Just being around you puts the people you love in danger! And I'm not gonna let Scout or Danny end up like Morgan. No, I am saving their lives right now.
Sonny: I would never want anything to happen to your children.
Sam: Oh, that's just the problem, isn't it, Sonny? You never want anything to happen to anyone. It just does. You pull death and destruction toward you, just like you pulled Jason back in. [Voice breaking] And it ends now!
Sonny: I don't know what's going on here, Sam. But you need to know that I don't want to hurt you.
Sonny: I want to help you. Let me help you. I promise -- I promise that everything's gonna be fine. Just -- you got to put the gun down. Otherwise, you're gonna do something that you're not gonna be able to take back, Sam!
Felicia: I don't care if it is for only three hours. The point is, you're here, and this is the best surprise I've had all day.
Felicia: Aside from my flowers, of course.
Mac: I'll let that go... this time. As long as Maxie promises to show us all the latest photos of Georgie.
Felicia: Oh! How is my darling little grandbaby?
Maxie: Not so little anymore.
Felicia: [Gasps] Oh, my! Look at that!
Mac: Let me see?
Felicia: She's really growing up.
Mac: [Gasps] Oh. Not fast enough, as far as I'm concerned. See, I can't wait for her to become a teenager so she can give you as much grief as you and your sister and Robin gave me.
Mac: What? That's the reason for this gray hair. You know that, right?
Felicia: No! No, no.
Maxie: Okay, look. It is super sweet of you guys to want to spend time with me, but it is kind of short notice. I mean, you guys probably had plans, right?
Mac: Are you kidding? What better reason to change plans?
Felicia: We already canceled our poker night. We were just gonna get some Noodle Buddha and curl up to a movie, but we could do that any night of the week, right?
Maxie: Oh, really? That sounds like a date night!
Mac: Well, it was. We've had a lot of those lately.
Felicia: It doesn't matter. We've got all the time in the world. In fact, we're not letting you out of our sight until you have to get on that plane to Paris.
Nathan: Well, actually, we were kind of hoping to -- to --
Anna: Is that Maxie?
Maxie: Anna! Oh, hi!
Anna: I didn't know you were coming for a visit!
Felicia: Neither did we.
Anna: What's going on?
Maxie: I'm only here for a few hours.
Anna: Oh, that's perfect. Just long enough for me to give you my news.
Maxie: What news?
Anna: I just got off the phone with Patrick. Robin's having the baby!
Felicia: Oh! [Laughs]
Mac: New babies everywhere!
Felicia: This is so exciting! I can't believe it.
Laura: Dante. Did you hear anything?
Dante: Okay. We have units all over the Dunn Loring neighborhood, and we're bringing in dogs to search the surrounding woods.
Laura: They moved him. Valentin could have him anywhere by now.
Dante: Laura, we have to broaden the search.
Laura: [Scoffs] It was Valentin! It had to be him! You know that!
Valentin: I want to make a statement.
Laura: How could you be so cruel? He's just a little boy. He's alone and he's afraid. He's been gone for more than 24 hours. What have you done with him!?
Jason: I'm aware that it's different for Sonny. Being the boss, it makes him a target or a threat for anyone who wants to take over. But you know better than anyone, when Sonny's determined to do something, he gets it done.
Carly: [Sighs] But sometimes, circumstances have a way of interfering, you know?
Jason: Except he's doing this because he loves you, because he wants to ensure your future with him.
Jason: So, he's gonna find a way to make this work.
Diane: And that he has.
Carly: Diane! Hey. Did you have a meeting with Sonny?
Diane: No. No, quite the opposite, in fact. He has been avoiding my calls all afternoon, and I-I can't say I blame him. You know, for a man of such physical courage, Sonny can be quite the emotional coward, don't you think? But I don't blame him. I mean, I wouldn't want to face me either.
Carly: Why? What happened?
Diane: Oh, you don't know? Oh, then let me fill you in. Sonny has given Max a promotion. Max is the interim manager of the entire operation until Sonny can find a permanent successor.
Sam: This isn't what I want, Sonny. But I don't have a choice!
Sonny: Okay, Sam. Listen to me. There's got to be another solution so no-nobody gets hurt. You understand?
Sam: [Breathing heavily]
Sonny: Listen to me, okay? I know that you're going through something. I understand. And you know y-you're like family to me, right? Okay? [Sighs] Do you understand what I'm saying? Huh? I would -- I would do anything for you and Jason.
Sonny: [Grunts] [Groaning] I know it wasn't you, Sam. You didn't mean to do this.
Sam: Yes. I did.
Sam: [Breathing heavily]
Diane: So, imagine my surprise when Max, grinning from ear to ear, tells me that Sonny has given him a promotion and now my Max, the bodyguard, is head of the Corinthos organization. Yes. It's only temporary until Sonny finds a permanent successor, but that doesn't make the job any less safe. And with greater power comes greater risk! [Voice breaking] And now Max has got a big target painted on his back, and the least one of you could've done would be to tell me what Sonny was planning!
Carly: I would've been happy to if I'd known anything about it, Diane.
Jason: I -- don't look at me. This is the first I've heard about it.
Diane: Oh. Yeah. You mean to tell me that this is the first you're hearing, that Sonny hasn't told you word one?
Carly: Okay, look. Things have been, um, well -- Sonny's been distracted a lot lately, okay? There's a lot going on, Diane. Diane?
Diane: Look. I'm the first to admit that Sonny has paid me very generously over the years. I've made a boatload of money keeping that man out of prison. But we were friends -- I thought! And the least he could've done was have the decency to look me in the eye and tell what he was planning!
Jason: Maybe by not telling you, he's protecting you. You know, giving you some sort of plausible deniability.
Diane: Yeah, nice try, Jason, but Sonny knows that every word he says to me is protected by attorney-client privilege. No, the man is a big, fat coward, and you both know it! He knew exactly how I would feel about this.
Carly: Are you gonna talk Max out of taking the job?
Diane: Are you kidding?! Are you -- he -- he's bursting with pride! This is Christmas for him! This is everything he has ever worked for! But the risk now grows exponentially. And with more power, he's got... [Voice breaking] I just don't want to see him get hurt.
Carly: I know exactly how you feel.
Jason: You know, you said it yourself. He's been waiting for this opportunity his entire life. He's ready. I'm gonna check on Sam and get back to the search.
Carly: [Whispering] Thank you.
Jason: Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. He's gonna be great.
Carly: You want a drink?
Diane: "Do I want a drink?" [Scoffs] [Sighs]
Carly: Here you go.
Diane: Here's to you, Carly. After so many years, Sonny is finally getting out of the mob. Congratulations.
Anna: So, Robin's contractions started about a half an hour ago, and she's already like five minutes apart. So Patrick just checked her straight into the hospital, done and done.
Felicia: So there'll be a new Scorpio-Drake sometime tonight.
Anna: I know. And I can't wait to meet my new grandchild. I'm on flight to Berkeley in a few hours.
Felicia: Oh, great.
Mac: You're flying commercial? The WSB couldn't get you a fighter jet?
Anna: [Laughs] Oh, right. No. Well, I mean, if you're going on an active mission, yes, obviously. But...not for an agent going on leave.
Nathan: You're going on leave?
Anna: Yeah! I am. Obviously! I'm gonna spend a little time grandmothering around with Emma while everyone gets used to the new sibling.
Maxie: Sibling? We still don't know if that baby's a boy or a girl?
Anna: We don't, no! She won't tell me.
Mac: That's why Mac is the perfect name. It works either way.
Felicia: I think one Mac Scorpio in the world is enough.
Mac: I'm willing to share with Mac Scorpio Drake. Just make sure you float that past Robin.
Anna: It will be the first thing I tell her.
Felicia: [Laughs] Well, I think this calls for a celebration, and practically the whole family is here to celebrate. So why don't I pop to the chef and have him whip up five rib dinners with the works?
Anna: Sounds good.
Mac: Fantastic! We can toast the new baby with baby backs, celebrate the newest member of the clan. Unless, um... you and Nathan have an announcement?
Maxie: I mean, how could we when you're doing your best to make sure we don't have a moment alone?
Maxie: [Sighs] I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Mom. I love you guys so much, and I'm so happy to see you. And I-I'm thrilled for Robin. It's just... it's been a few weeks since I've seen my husband in person, and we're kind of hoping to get out of here.
Anna: [Gasps] Oh, my goodness!
Mac: Get the heck out of here!
Anna: Go, go, go!
Mac: When you got to go, you got to go!
Anna: [Laughs] Wow.
Mac: Know what they say. Goodbye, sweetie.
Felicia: I love you! So great to see you. I love you!
Maxie: I love you. Tell Robin congratulations.
Maxie: And I'm gonna come see her as soon as I can.
Anna: I will, I will.
Maxie: Let's get the hell out of here.
Felicia: Get the hell out of here.
Mac: Bye. [Laughs]
Laura: If you touched one hair on that boy's head --
Nina: Laura, Valentin had nothing to do with Spencer's disappearance.
Valentin: You may want to get yourself under control there, Laura. You get so hysterical, you attack me at a crowded police station? You're gonna be facing criminal assault charges whether I press them or not.
Dante: Okay. You came here to make a statement? Go make it. Robinson, do an interrogation room, please.
Laura: I'm sorry. It's just when I see him, I just --
Dante: It's okay. It's okay. You're scared.
Laura: You know, when Charlotte came back into our lives, I promised myself that I would do everything I could to help you and Lulu give her the best life that she could possibly have... and that meant... if not forgiving Valentin, at least putting my hatred aside. [Voice breaking] But...I tried that. I-I really tried that. But when I see him, I'm back in Greece, and I see him dragging my son up those stairs. That's the last time I ever saw my son! I mean, what if he's done something to Spencer?
Spencer: Grandmother! I'm free!
Laura: Oh, Spencer! Oh! Thank God! Oh, thank God.
Maxie: [Laughing] Why are you staring at me like that?
Nathan: I just can't believe you're here. I missed you.
Maxie: I missed you, too, every second of every day, even if I don't say it.
Nathan: I know that we're making the best of things, but... I don't know how much longer we can go on like this.
Maxie: Neither do I. Have you thought about moving to Portland?
Nathan: You know I can't leave Nina, especially not with Valentin around.
Maxie: I thought you were taking the hard line with her.
Nathan: I tried, I tried. I did, I tried.
Maxie: But you caved.
Nathan: I did. She's my sister. I can't help it.
Maxie: I know. It's one of the reasons I love you so much.
Nathan: I know I can't ask youth move back here from Portland. I mean, you've got this great job and you're super close to Georgie.
Maxie: Getting to spend so much time with her, I've finally realized what I've been missing.
Nathan: So...where's that leave us?
Maxie: I don't know. But I do know that I love you very much, and we're together right now. So at this moment, that's all that matters.
Laura: Oh, Spencer. Oh, thank God. You scared me half to death! Are you hurt?
Spencer: You don't need to worry about me, Grandmother. I'm more than a match for your average kidnapper.
Dante: [Chuckles] That may be, but let's not make a habit out of it, okay?
Laura: Where were you, honey? What happened?
Dante: We found out where you were being held, but you weren't -- you weren't there. How'd you get out of there?
Spencer: I went out the window. There were a bunch of old books lying around, so I stacked them up.
Dante: You climbed up a stack of books?
Spencer: And I made sure to close the window before I jumped to the ground. I didn't want the kidnapper to notice it was open when he came back, and that gave me the head start that I needed.
Laura: I'm so glad you made it back to us.
Spencer: [Scoffs] I'm glad, too, but I wish I could say the same for my glasses.
Laura: [Sighs] You know that I always have a spare for you, right?
Laura: [Laughs] My boy, oh!
Carly: Can you please tell Max how grateful I am?
Diane: [Sniffles] He's already so thrilled. I'm sure your gratitude will be icing on the cake.
Carly: I love Max, you know? I really do.
Diane: I know you do. And I love him, too. And it's not like I have any room to complain, you know. I know exactly the kind of man I chose to spend the rest of my life with. Max is a soldier. Well, now he's a general... [Laughing] To continue the metaphor. But he's never been anything other than brutally honest with me about who he is and what he does. And I made a conscious decision to take the bad if I was going to get the good, and I've never regretted it. [Sniffles] I'll tell you this, though. I'd give my eyeteeth if he would just pack it all in and become a... Little League coach... or a fly-fishing guide.
Diane: But that's not Max. And who knows? He might become bitter and sour if he weren't really able to do what he loves. [Crying] I just hated it every time he'd get shot. And I don't want to see it happen again. [Sobs]
Carly: I don't blame you.
Diane: [Sniffles] I envy you, Carly. You and -- you and Sonny are at the start of a brand-new life. And I wish Max and I could have that, too, but it's not our time. This is your time. This is your moment, so you seize that moment, and you hold on to it, and you don't ever let it go.
[Keys jingling, lock clicking]
Jason: Hey, Sam! I'm home. Sam? Are you here?
Mac: To Robin's new baby... and our family getting bigger with each day.
Anna: To family.
Felicia: To family.
Maxie: I wish I didn't have to leave.
Nathan: So don't.
Maxie: Nathan, my car's gonna be here in a few minutes.
Nathan: Have you checked the weather in Paris? Maybe I got lucky and there's a freak weather storm, and your flight got delayed.
Maxie: [Laughs] I did. No such luck.
Maxie: I'm gonna see you in a few weeks.
Nathan: Yeah, see you then.
Maxie: Oh! There was something you were gonna tell me before my parents showed up. What was that?
[Car horn honks]
Maxie: Perfect timing.
Nathan: I-it's honest-- it's nothing. It's nothing that can't wait.
Maxie: You're sure?
Nathan: I'm sure. I love you.
Maxie: I love you.
Nina: Spencer! You're here!
Valentin: Was he rescued, or did he turn himself in?
Laura: He escaped.
Dante: All right, why don't we all remain calm? I'm gonna take Spencer's statement. He's gonna tell me exactly what happened to him and who did this to him.
Valentin: Yeah, I'd like to clear this up.
Nina: Uh, Spencer, please tell Dante that Valentin had nothing to do with your kidnapping.
Carly: You know, there was a time when I thought Sonny would never leave the business.
Diane: Well, let's face it. He's only doing this because of you.
Carly: Why do you say that?
Diane: It was evident when I represented him in your latest divorce proceedings that when Sonny couldn't be with you, he was ready to let the world burn down around him. But now that he's got you back, he's doing everything he can to give you the world. That's how much you mean to him. Sonny's getting out of the mob, Carly. Without throwing himself into a six-foot ditch! Make the most of it.
Jason: Sam, what's wrong?
Sam: [Shakily] We're safe now, Jason. We're safe. I had to protect you.
Jason: What? Sam --
Sam: Please don't worry, okay? I had to protect you.
Jason: Sam, what is going on?
Sam: Jason, it's over. We don't have to worry about it about anymore. [Moans]
Jason: Hey, hey, hey, hey! Sam! Hey!
On the next "General Hospital" --
Nina (to Spencer): Tell them Valentin had nothing to do with your kidnapping.
Finn (to Griffin): I'm gonna be getting a second chance at happiness.
Hayden (to Elizabeth): What did you do? To be such a good mom.
Dr. Obrecht (to Jared): I have a suspicion that you might want to go aid your former wife.
Sam (to Jason): We're finally safe.
Jason: Safe from what?
