Julian: You--you should just stop thinking, Alexis, you know? It's-- it's summertime, you know?

[Boat horn blows]

Julian: Maybe, uh... take a night off.

Alexis: I'm -- I'm sorry, what?

Julian: I don't know, enjoy the night, you know? Maybe, uh, take a risk?

Alexis: I mean, what's left to risk, really?

Julian: Well, like I said, we're only 15 minutes from your house. [Inhales] Um, maybe we could, um, take the scenic route?

[Footsteps approaching]

Kristina: Mom?

Hayden: I thought I would feel this amazing connection to my baby, that I'd love it instantly. I'd have dreams -- big, impossible dreams. That I'd have so much hope and joy, I wouldn't be able to stand it. Instead, I'm -- [Sighs] I don't know.

Curtis: Ambivalent?

Hayden: Yes! Ambivalent.

Curtis: Mm.

Hayden: Oh, my God, Curtis. I don't know if I want to be a mother.

Curtis: Well, you know, I ain't the one to judge, but we have to ask ourself this question -- are you worried about being a less-than-perfect mama, or are you worried about being a mama at all?

Dr. Obrecht: Your shift ended 15 minutes ago. Yet you're still here working.

Kiki: Actually, I'm off the clock. I just wanted to get this set up for the morning crew.

Dr. Obrecht: Very conscientious. I just wanted to tell you, in light of your mother's hardship, people have noticed how diligent you've been on the job. You show potential for advancement.

Kiki: Thank you. You know, it'd be great if you could mention that to Dr. Quartermaine.

Dr. Obrecht: [Scoffs] Oh, please. My word means nothing to her. In any case, Monica's known to be stingy with raises and promotions.

Kiki: Excuse me?

Dr. Obrecht: Never mind. Just be aware. General Hospital won't always be under her leadership.

Sam: Oh, Monica. No, no, no, no, no. Stop. You've already done more than enough to help out.

Monica: Oh, don't be silly. I love doing it. And I love helping out with the kids. Until Jason comes home.

Sam: Okay, well --

Monica: Well, hello!

Sam: Jason.

Jason: Hi! Mm!

[Door closes]

Sonny: No more danger, no more violence. I'm gonna do everything that I can to make a good life for you and our family.

Carly: Maybe you believe that you can do that, but I don't.

Sonny: Are we back to that -- where I tell you something, and you don't believe it? You think I'm trying to play you for a fool?

Carly: No! I don't think you're playing me at all. I think you're playing yourself.

Curtis: 'Cause I know all about your less-than-perfect parents. So is that what we're doing here? We're repeating the mistakes of them?

Hayden: Yes. Maybe. [Scoffs] And who are we talking about here? Raymond Berlin, who happens to be the biggest swindler in Wall Street history? Or my mother, who lied to me my entire life? Or saintly Jeff Webber, who really isn't so saintly, because I'm a product of an affair, and I've never even met him? You think I want to pass that mess on to another generation?

[Both sigh]

Curtis: Yeah. Damn. You really are all up in your own head.

Hayden: Do you blame me?

Curtis: I don't know. I suppose you could play the opposite of how you were raised and become an over-protective helicopter mom.

Hayden: Thanks...I think.

Curtis: Is there anything else going on?

Hayden: This wasn't planned, Curtis. I mean, come on. In addition to me having no maternal instincts whatsoever, Finn's in recovery. Every day is a struggle for him not to use. I'm not sure he's in a place to even do right by himself, let alone a baby. So if I'm not sure about being a mother, and I can't depend on him to be a father, what kind of life am I offering this child?

Finn: Hi.

Sam: I am so happy you're home.

Jason: [Chuckles] Yeah. Me, too. Me, too. Monica, thank you for watching the kids.

Monica: Oh, I can never spend enough time with the grandkids.

Sam: Yeah, not to mention keeping her daughter-in-law totally sane while you were gone.

Jason: Are they still up, by any chance?

Sam: Oh, no. They've been sleeping for a couple hours. I'll go wake them up.

Jason: No, no, no, no. That's fine, that's fine. I'll surprise them in the morning.

Sam: Uh, what... uh, wait a minute. What is -- what is this? What is that? Are you hurt?

Jason: Eh, no. Uh, I -- I got grazed. Just -- minor, no stitches.

Sam: What do you mean? Like, grazed as -- as in... a bullet? You were shot?

Jason: Uh... l-like I said, I got grazed. It's no big deal. It's very...

Sam: Jason, you go down to Puerto Rico to deliver a message. How does that translate into you getting shot? I don't understand.

Monica: Sam, Sam. Actually, this really looks fine.

Jason: See? Looks fine. I'm fine, we're fine. Garvey had pulled a gun on Carly and Sonny, and there was a fight. By the time I got there, the gun went off.

Sam: And Garvey shot you?

Jason: Actually, it was Carly.

Carly: Let's face it -- you're not in a traditional business, Sonny. You know, you don't get to retire and collect pension. You don't get to retire from your business at all.

Sonny: Says who, Carly?

Carly: Says you. You told me that. No one's able to leave your line of work. You were always very honest with me.

Sonny: I didn't want you to have any false expectations. I was giving you the worst-case scenario.

Carly: You were giving me the only-case scenario.

Sonny: W-well --

Carly: No, you were.

Sonny: [Sighs]

Carly: A man doesn't get to leave your business. It chooses to leave him. So let's be real about this, right? If you want out, you live the rest of your life until you die of natural causes.

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: Or until someone kills you.

Hayden: Finn, how long have you been here?

Finn: Oh, I just -- I just got here. I was over at GH. I was -- I was talking to Griffin about our theory about who's setting me up.

Hayden: Oh, well, that's why Curtis is here. I think we should hire him to investigate.

Curtis: How sure are you of your suspect?

Finn: Oh, pretty sure. This particular doctor doesn't like me. More accurately, she hates me.

Curtis: Hmm. Anyone I know?

Finn: You ever heard of Liesl Obrecht?

Curtis: Yeah. Sounds familiar. I get the impression she's not a nice person.

Hayden: No, she's not, and if we don't get proof that she's behind the false positives, Finn could lose his job at the hospital and possibly lose his medical license.

Curtis: Yeah, well, that's not gonna happen on my watch.

Hayden: So you're in?

Curtis: Yeah. Let's do it. Let's get this dirty doctor.

Kiki: Is Dr. Quartermaine retiring?

Dr. Obrecht: She can't do the job forever. Then, when she does leave -- by her own volition or good sense prevails -- the board will consider restoring me as chief of staff. But a chief is only as good as her subordinates. You have the potential to become a fine nurse. I could ensure that day comes sooner than later, if you were willing to help me.

Kiki: Help you how?

Dr. Obrecht: You may find yourself in a position to know things the staff are talking about that they don't voice to the administration.

Kiki: What kind of things?

Dr. Obrecht: Who's popular with the staff, who isn't. Any kind of talk about labor actions, like the recent nurse sick-out. And, of course, I would pay you back for keeping me informed, once I'm chief again. Think about it. [Clicks tongue]

Kristina: I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?

Julian: No. No.

Alexis: Uh, as a matter of fact, we -- you aren't interrupting anything. So, uh, what are you up to?

[Boat horn blows]

Kristina: I'm just picking up some take-out for Amy and me. What are you two doing?

Alexis: We're not together. I know it looks that way, but that's not the ca-- right?

Julian: Mnh-mnh. No. We just happen to be at the same place, the same time.

Kristina: Mm.

Julian: Well, listen, I will let the two of you enjoy your evening.

Kristina: Oh, you don't have to go. I mean, not on my account.

Julian: No, it's okay. I have places to be, you know? People to see.

Kristina: Enjoying your freedom before your trial starts.

Julian: Night. Kristina, um, have you checked in with your father lately? I mean, is everything okay with him?

Kristina: Why wouldn't it be?

Julian: Well, I heard some people might want to make some trouble for him, so I gave Jason a heads up. Hopefully, he passed the warning onto Sonny.

Kristina: Why do you care about warning my father?

Sonny: Give me a little credit, Carly. I've been in this business a long time. I know how it works.

Carly: Okay. Why are we even having this conversation, then?

Sonny: Because there's ways to maneuver.

Carly: It's not like you haven't done this before.

Sonny: [Sighs]

Carly: I mean, really, what route are you gonna take this time? I mean, you tried to disappear once.

Sonny: Mm.

Carly: Am I right? You came here to this very island... mm-hmm. ...And you wanted to start over. You wanted to start a new life. You left Port Charles, but that didn't work. So what are you gonna do now?

Sonny: [Laughs] I'm not gonna hide out on the island.

Carly: No? Okay, so what's next? What are your options? You could go to a federal prosecutor, you could cut a deal. You want to go into the witness protection program?

Sonny: Carly... let's not get carried away.

Carly: I know. So what are you gonna do, huh? You could choose a successor. But what if the person you choose wants to do things that you don't agree with, right? What if they want to run drugs? What if they want to sell weapons? What are you gonna do then? How are you gonna keep your mouth shut when all that's going on in your backyard? Or what if your successor isn't as strong as you, and there's an outside competitor who wants to take over? You don't think there's a possibility for an all-out war for your territory?

Sam: Just let me get this straight. You drop everything to go save Sonny, and as a result, you get shot?

Jason: [Chuckles] I mean, Carly wasn't trying to shoot me. She was trying to protect her husband.

Sam: No, no, no. I -- I don't blame Carly for protecting her family. I blame Sonny.

Jason: But Sonny was the target. He didn't even realize this man was coming after him.

Sam: Jason, Sonny doesn't have to worry about who's coming after him as long as he has you! He knows that you're gonna protect him, never mind your own family!

Jason: That's not fair. I -- Sam, can we talk about this some other time? I saw the doctor at the casino. He took a look. Everything's fine. No stitches. I'm fine.

Sam: Okay.

Jason: Okay.

Sam: Yep. I'm gonna go check on the kids.

Jason: [Sighs] Look, I'm sorry. Uh...

Monica: Hey, you don't have to apologize. I'm just glad that you're home safe and sound.

Jason: Yeah, me, too. Thanks for looking after Sam and the kids. I hope it wasn't too much trouble.

Monica: [Laughing] Oh! Family is never trouble.

Jason: Yeah.

Monica: Now, I think it's my cue to leave.

Jason: Hey, can I ask you -- uh, while I was gone, did Sam seem... different? Before I left, she was acting... I-I don't know how to put it. She was, uh... she was off.

Monica: You -- you mean, uh, her reacting to you being shot?

Jason: Well, come on. I've been in worse situations. I've certainly been shot worse than this, and she always handled it pretty well.

Monica: Well, you know, having children changes people. Maybe Sam is rearranging her priorities for Scout and for Danny.

Jason: Yeah.

Monica: If that is the case, then, hey, God bless her. Anyway, I'll see you.

Jason: Yeah. Thank you. [Smooches]

Sam: Hey.

Jason: Hey, hey.

Sam: The kids are still asleep. Where's Monica?

Jason: She left.

Sam: Oh. That's a bummer. I wanted to thank her. [Chuckles] I was actually gonna get on a plane and go down to Puerto Rico, and she talked me down.

Jason: I'm sorry I worried you.

Sam: Yeah.

Jason: Cheers.

Sam: Cheers.

[Glasses clink]

Sam: Hey, remind me to kick Sonny's ass the next time I see him.

Jason: [Laughs] Yeah, well, all jokes aside, I hope you realize this wasn't Sonny's fault.

Sam: [Scoffs] Wait a minute. Excuse me. You're -- you're not actually... sticking up for him right now, are you?

Jason: Honey, if I didn't get involved, Carly and Sonny could be dead.

[Glass clanks]

Sam: I mean, can't you say that about every single Sonny situation? You can't be responsible for their lives.

Jason: You're right. I can't. And I've been choosing my battles, but --

Sam: But what?

Jason: But -- did you and Sonny have some sort of argument that I'm not aware of? Because it seems now the mere mention of his name sets you off.

Sam: [Scoffs] What? I'm sorry I'm concerned for my family.

Jason: Scout had a very difficult entry into this world. We both know that. But recently, you've been quick to react.

Sam: Mm.

Jason: You've been volatile, which isn't really like you. And I'm not saying that you don't have the right to be concerned, because you definitely do. I just think that maybe, recently, your reactions have been disproportionate.

Sam: Mine? [Laughs] My reactions? You go down to save Sonny. You get shot. And now you think I'm overreacting?

Jason: I'm not saying that you don't have the right to be worried. I just don't understand where it's coming from. And maybe we should...

Sam: Maybe we should what?

Jason: Maybe we should see a doctor.

Hayden: So, we're all in agreement.

Curtis: Uh, prove that Obrecht was switching Doc Finn's test. Yep.

Hayden: Good.

Finn: Yeah.

Hayden: Good, okay.

[Footsteps approaching]

Monica: Oh.

Curtis: Hi, Monica.

Monica: Hello. Clearly, I have walked in on something.

Hayden: No. No, Curtis was just filling us in on, you know, what's going on with him.

Monica: Uh, you see, this house has hatched more schemes than in the CIA, and I've seen it all, so you might as well be truthful.

Hayden: It's nothing. Really.

Finn: Monica's been good to me. I think I owe her the truth.

Hayden: Even if it gets you fired?

Finn: Mm-hmm.

Monica: Okay, I was kind of kidding before. I'm not now. You need to tell me the truth.

Finn: I believe a doctor at the hospital has been tampering with my drug screens to make it look like I'm still using.

Monica: Whew. [Exhales sharply] That's a pretty serious accusation. Uh, you have any proof?

Curtis: Well, that's why I'm here -- to go collect evidence. With your permission, of course.

Monica: You want me to sign off on a plot to target one of my doctors?

Finn: Well, there's doctors, and then there's Obrecht.

Monica: What's your plan?

Carly: If you want to have this conversation, we need to have it. Who's gonna fill your shoes? We don't want the kids involved.

Sonny: Never.

Carly: Okay, then, who? It can't be Jason.

Sonny: Well, he did just come out here to help us out.

Carly: Yes, because he's our friend. He's our very loyal friend, but we can't ask Jason to sacrifice his new life just so we can have ours.

Sonny: Five years ago, he would have stepped up -- no questions asked. He would have done a great job, and -- and I would have been able to let go because I would have felt like everything was okay. [Sighs]

Carly: I know. That was five years ago.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Carly: But Jason's changed, you know? He has a different life now.

Sonny: He not only has -- not only does he have a different life. He's different!

Carly: I know. And I agree with you. But that brings us back to square one. If it's not Jason, it's no one. It's you.

[Cell phone ringing]

Alexis: Thank you for sitting with me.

Julian: Hm.

Alexis: It's the first time that I've had an urge to drink in a -- in a while, and the next time, I'll follow protocol and I'll call my sponsor. I -- I don't -- didn't mean to bother you.

Julian: You're not bothering me, Alexis. Just the opposite, actually.

Alexis: Don't do this. We are over. We're over.

Julian: Are we talking tonight... or for good?

Kristina: So it's true? Some guy came after you?

Sonny: Nothing came of it. How do you -- how do you even know?

Kristina: That's beside the point. I just want to know if you're okay.

Sonny: Yeah, I'm fine. Carly's fine. Jason got a little nick, but it's nothing.

Kristina: No, it's not nothing! I'm sorry. [Sighs] Never mind.

Sonny: Kristina, what's going on?

Kristina: I just wish you'd stop acting like this.

Sonny: Like what, sweetheart?

Kristina: Like it's normal. Some guy comes after you and tries to kill you, but it's not a big deal. It's just a part of the business. I thought things were going to change after Morgan, but they didn't. Am I an idiot -- you know, to hope for something better?

Sonny: You're not an idiot, sweetheart! Don't say that.

Kristina: [Sighs] I'm just tired of getting phone calls and hearing that someone's hurt or showing up at the hospital and wondering if someone's going to live or die. Am I an idiot to hope for -- like, want a normal life?

Sonny: I promise you, things are gonna change.

Kristina: No. I can't take one more of your empty promises. Just get home safe, okay?

Sonny: Kristina, okay, listen to --

[Cell phone beeps]

Sonny: She hung up on me.

Curtis: Well? What do you think?

Hayden: Obviously, there are risks.

Monica: Well, the plan kind of hinges on fooling Liesl Obrecht, and she is not a woman who is easily fooled. Are you any good?

Hayden: I've -- I've hired Curtis before. He's -- he's very thorough. In fact, he's worked with your son, Jason. You could ask him how skilled he is.

Monica: Ah, well, I do know that Jason only hires the best, so I think I can probably work with you.

Finn: Oh, well, uh, all we're really asking is for you to look the other way.

Monica: Oh, I'm sorry, that isn't gonna happen.

Hayden: Well, we would never expect you --

Monica: What? Ask me to go against one of my doctors? We're talking Liesl Obrecht here. And it's quite believable that she would sabotage Finn.

Finn: Yes, well, knowing it and proving it are two very different things.

Monica: I know. And if we come up empty, then I will take the hit. But I don't think we're going to. And, look -- Liesl took my job from me once. She's now just biding her time to do it again. Uh, do you have plans tonight?

Curtis: What did you have in mind?

Monica: [Chuckles] A field trip.

Alexis: What did Sonny say?

Kristina: He's fine. Everyone's fine. I didn't ask for details, because I know I'd only get a g-rated version and a pat on the head and a promise that everything's going to be okay. Same as always.

Alexis: I'm sorry, honey.

Kristina: I'm gonna go pick up my order and let you and Julian not be together, or whatever.

Julian: No, it's okay. I really was on my way out. But I will say that I'm glad your dad's okay.

Kristina: Julian, wait. Whatever you told Jason, it made him worried enough to go down to the island in time to save my dad's life. So thank you.

Julian: You're welcome.

Carly: Sorry that Kristina hung up on you. I understand her frustration, though. I must seem like a really big hypocrite to you.

Sonny: In what way?

Carly: Changing the rules, especially this late in the game. I knew what I was getting into. I chose to have a life with you and all of its consequences, and... and now I just can't follow through.

Sonny: I feel the same way. I couldn't stand the thought of losing you or anybody else in a way that we lost Morgan. That's why I'm gonna figure out a way -- I don't know how yet. 'Cause you know this has been... this is all I know.

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: But I'm gonna do everything I can to -- to make it happen. This life -- I'm done.

Sam: By saying "we" need to see a doctor, what you're really saying is I need to see a doctor.

Jason: What affects you, affects me. It affects everybody in this house.

Sam: Really? Because you're not the one who's gonna have your head examined. I am. I mean, that's what we're talking about, right? That -- that me worrying about you somehow makes me crazy.

Jason: I didn't say that.

Sam: No? You didn't? Then what, Jason? What, you -- you think that I'm hysterical? That -- that I'm blowing things out of proportion? That I have anxiety, so -- so the solution is for me to somehow be medicated?

Jason: I'm saying that I'm worried about you.

Sam: Why? Why, exactly? Because I'm pushing back? Because I refuse to stand by with a smile on my face while you run out into danger?

Jason: Maybe we should call your mom.

Sam: Are you kidding me?! You want me to call my mother? Just because I don't want you working for Sonny, that somehow makes something wrong with me?!

[Scout crying]

Sam: Oh, God. [Sighs]

Jason: Sam.

[Crying continues]

Jason: This isn't you. You don't do this. I think something's wrong, and I think we need to find out what.

Hayden: Well, it looks like our chances of catching Obrecht improved. I mean, did you have any idea Monica would offer to help?

Finn: No. I guess that's the thing about hypotheticals. You can speculate all you want, but you never really know for sure until you ask.

Hayden: You're not talking about Monica, are you?

Finn: No.

Hayden: You overheard me talking to Curtis about our...situation.

Finn: Some.

Hayden: Okay, well, let me clarify. It's not that I doubt your ability to be a good father.

Finn: No, that's pretty close to what you said.

Hayden: No.

Finn: And it's -- it's okay. I guess I've been wondering the same thing myself. I'm so turned around. I -- I even talked to Griffin about it.

Hayden: No, no, I was talking about the timing. You're in recovery. You're trying to get your job back. You already have a lot on your plate.

Finn: Yeah. That's one way to look at it. Is this the perfect time for us to have a baby? No. But it's the time we got. We just have to work with it.

Monica: I want to familiarize you with the lab, 'cause once you know that area, it'll be a lot easier for you to collect some evidence. [Whispering] Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Curtis: What's the problem?

Monica: Obrecht is still here, and I don't want her to see you out of character. So we're going to have to do the lab second and get you in disguise first.

Kristina: [Sighs]

Alexis: That was surprising. That was beyond generous of you to thank Julian.

Kristina: Not thanking him would have been really petty. I mean, Julian could have kept his mouth shut and let whatever happened, happen, and dad could be dead. But he stepped up for once.

Alexis: Mm, highly unlikely, but maybe people do change.

Kristina: Uh, maybe for some people.

Alexis: Is this about the call to your father?

Kristina: Yes.

Alexis: Do you want to talk about it?

Kristina: And say what? Yeah, Dad does what he does. He takes the risks that he takes, and I don't think it's going to change.

Alexis: Well, he's still your father, so don't write him off as a lost cause. He loves you.

Kristina: Yeah, I know he loves me, and I love him, too, but I just -- I don't happen to agree with a lot of the choices that he makes. But I'm equal opportunity. I don't happen to agree with a lot of the choices that you make, either. Mom, what's going on with you and Julian?

Carly: You know, uh, it's kind of ironic. You were always the one telling me that there was no getting out, and now I'm telling you.

Sonny: Well, situations change. Things are relatively stable at the moment.

Carly: Someone just tried to kill you.

Sonny: Yeah, but that was a random act of revenge.

Carly: Mm.

Sonny: I'm talking about the overall business. It's -- it's the perfect time to make the transition.

Carly: You really think that's possible?

Sonny: I'm gonna get rid of the things that I can, and groom somebody to take care of the stuff that I can't. I'm not saying it's gonna happen overnight, in a month, or even two months, but I tell you what -- it's gonna happen.

Carly: Who are you calling?

Sonny: [Sighs] Lucy. Sorry to call you so late, but it's gonna be worth your while. You know Pozzulo's, right? Yeah, on Z-Zollinger. Right. I'm selling it. The listing is yours. Price it to sell. Thank you.

Sam: [Sighs deeply]

[Footsteps approaching]

Sam: Is Scout back to sleep?

Jason: Yeah. Conked right out. Only took a few minutes.

Sam: I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have raised my voice.

Jason: Well, you were upset.

Sam: I know. I just got so focused on my fear, Jason, that I just -- I kind of feel like I blacked out, which is exactly what you were getting at, isn't it?

Jason: I'm just trying to offer suggestions. I don't want to see you like this.

Sam: I can't apologize for feeling this way.

Jason: I'm not going back to work for Sonny. I'm committed to our life together with these kids, but the fact that you're still afraid...

Sam: [Exhales sharply]

Jason: ...And nothing I say can make you feel any better? That's not like you, Sam. That's not how you deal with things. Do you really think that everything is okay with you?

Sam: Maybe not.

Kristina: Mom, I've told Julian to go away. I've screamed at him. I -- I've told him to his face how wrong I think he is for you, but he won't listen. The only person I can try to reach is you.

Alexis: All right, I'm gonna stop you right here, because there's no Davis woman that wants a redo with Julian, including me.

Kristina: Then what did I walk in on?

Alexis: Nothing. Nothing. I was feeling out of sorts, and I -- I wanted a drink.

Kristina: You didn't...?

Alexis: No! No. I didn't. I had a banana split instead.

Kristina: Why didn't you call your sponsor?

Alexis: I didn't want to. I didn't want to talk to anybody. I-I just... I just wanted to feel better.

Kristina: With ice cream.

Alexis: Worth a shot. And then Julian showed up, and I made the mistake of telling him that I wanted a drink, and then of course, he wasn't gonna leave me alone, and then you showed up.

Kristina: Yeah, thankfully. Amy and I were jonesing for some onion rings, but what if it had been egg rolls, and we ordered from Noodle Buddha? What happens the next time that you run into Julian, and I'm not there to save you from yourself? [Sighs]

[Elevator bell dings]

Julian: Hi. I, uh, have something for you.

Dr. Obrecht: What is that?

Julian: It's, uh, just takeout for your staff for looking after Ava.

Dr. Obrecht: That's very thoughtful of you.

Julian: Well, it's the least I could do. I know your staff's been working around the clock looking after Ava, and, uh, anyway, I just wanted you to know how much her family appreciates that.

Dr. Obrecht: Yeah. We're just doing our job.

Julian: Well, it's a damn-fine job. It's hard to believe this hospital almost got turned into luxury condos, huh? Monica really, uh, brought this place back from the brink. You have a good night.

Monica: Okay, Curtis. It's okay to come out.

Curtis: Really?

Monica: [Chuckles]

Curtis: You got me looking like a nerd. You couldn't have found something in the sexy IT department?

Monica: The whole point is to get Liesl to put her guard down.

Curtis: [Sighs]

Kiki: Excuse me, Dr. Quartermaine. Can I talk to you?

Monica: Yeah? What about?

Kiki: Um, can we talk in private?

Monica: Oh! Well, this gentleman has just been hired to work in the IT department. He's going to increase our security, so it's fine to talk in front of him.

Kiki: Okay, um, well, I don't want to get anyone in trouble, because I might have misinterpreted what was said.

Monica: Well, let me be the judge of that.

Kiki: I think Dr. Obrecht just asked me to spy for her, you know, 'cause I'm young and people might say things to me that they wouldn't say to her, but obviously I would never do anything like that.

Monica: Oh! Oh, no! [Chuckles] No, on the contrary. If Dr. Obrecht has asked you to spy for her, then that's exactly what you're going to do.

Finn: I wish I could say something perfect to you right now. All I can tell you is I will work every day of my life to be the best father this baby could ask for.

Hayden: I believe you. And let's be honest -- I'm more likely to be the one to screw this baby up, anyway.

Finn: No. And, hey, at the end of the day, doesn't every kid blame their parents for screwing them up?

Hayden: Yeah, but in my case, it's true.

Finn: You're scared. I'm scared. What do you say we be scared together?

Hayden: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah? Yeah?

Jason: Isn't that the first step? Admitting something's wrong?

Sam: [Crying] I mean, it certainly was with my mother and her drinking.

Jason: Well, we definitely know you don't have a drinking problem.

Sam: [Chuckles, sniffles]

Jason: What do you think it is?

Sam: [Sighs] I don't know. I mean, ever since I had Scout, I've just been feeling a little antsy. [Breathes shakily]

Jason: Antsy how?

Sam: Like I'm not entirely in control of myself.

Jason: Honey, you never said anything.

Sam: Jason, would you? I mean, really? Would you say something, or would you just hold it in and just hope that it would go away until it blows over? [Breathes shakily]

Jason: It doesn't seem like it's blowing over.

Sam: Oh, gosh. Why does it have to be an official thing? You know? Why can't it just be the stressors of life? I mean, my father is probably gonna spend the rest of his life in prison. My mother, she is a hot mess. And my husband -- you, my love, just got shot.

Jason: I'm not saying...

Sam: [Exhales sharply]

Jason: ...That there aren't many things in your life that legitimately should put you on edge. It's just that you handled things so much differently before, which is why I think it's a good idea we get you checked out, make sure nothing else is going on.

Sam: Okay, well, I mean, what if there isn't?

Jason: Well, then we both learn how to handle things a little differently. Maybe we get a nanny.

Sam: No. No, don't say that. I don't want a nanny. I wasn't able to be a mother to Danny in the first few months, and I want that with Scout. I want to be able to do that.

Jason: Maybe a part-time nanny?

Sam: [Laughs]

Jason: We could get a night nanny.

Sam: Okay.

Jason: Just a night nanny?

Sam: Okay, we'll see. [Chuckles] [Sniffles]

Jason: That's right. Operative word is "we."

Sam: Mm-hmm.

Jason: You're not alone in this. I don't want you to feel like you are. I'm here for everything. We're gonna take care of this.

Sam: Okay. Okay. All right, I'm gonna see a doctor. [Chuckles nervously, sniffles] Okay. I'm gonna do it.

Jason: Good.

Sam: Even if I think it's a complete waste of time. [Laughs] [Sniffles] [Chuckling] I love you.

Jason: Love you, too.

[Footsteps departing]

Sonny: Well, I made Lucy's night.

Carly: Are you sure about this? You've owned Pozzulo's for years. You love that place.

Sonny: I can just buy another restaurant.

Carly: But it's not gonna have the same history that Pozzulo's has.

Sonny: But it's -- it's a symbol. If they think that I own it, they think I'm in business, so I -- I got to get rid of it.

Carly: What are you doing?

Sonny: Uh, I'm just gonna take apart the -- this gun. It's not gonna be [Grunts] Needed anymore. Yep.

Carly: Okay, wait. Stop, stop. Please.

Sonny: What?

Carly: I appreciate the symbolic gesture. I really do. But disarming yourself this early in the process, I mean... aren't you gonna be vulnerable?

Sonny: No more vulnerable than I would be without you.

Carly: I love you.

On the next "General Hospital" --

Lulu (to Charlotte): Your father's going to be gone for a really long time.

Julian (to Ava): I'm gonna fight. I think you should, too.

Spencer (to Alexis): I've decided to take action against the man that murdered my father.

Carly (to Josslyn): What happened in this house?

Bobbie (to Sonny): So the only business left between you and my daughter is finalizing your divorce.
