[Door opens, closes]

Sonny: Excuse me.

Man: Yes?

Sonny: Can y-- is there any way you can give me an update on Ms. Jerome?

Man: Are you a relative?

Sonny: Well, she's the mother of my youngest child, right? But [Stammers] I can go through other channels if --

Man: No, no, no. It's fine. Okay. Ms. Jerome sustained second and third-degree burns over 50% of her body.

Sonny: [Exhales sharply] Wow.

Man: We're monitoring her closely, trying to manage her pain. She's at high risk for infection. She's critical but stable and showing signs of improvement.

Sonny: Wow, that's bad. Thank you.

Man: Yeah, sure.

Carly: Really? Why are we meeting here?

Sonny: I just -- I wanted to give you an update on -- on Ava.

Carly: You couldn't give me an update on the phone?

Sonny: It's making you uncomfortable, seeing her?

Carly: It makes me uncomfortable to see any human being suffering like that, but it doesn't make me hate her any less or change what she did to Morgan.

Sonny: Well, that's why I wanted you to see her, to make sure we're on the same page -- that we-- we're gonna prosecute Ava. Right?

Carly: Uh, yeah. Absolutely.

Sonny: Well, that means we're gonna have to see one of our least favorite people.

Carly: Scott Baldwin?

Sonny: Nelle.

Michael: Hey.

Nelle: Michael.

Michael: Ready to go?

[Door closes]

Michael: I-I checked at the desk. You shouldn't have to wait around much longer.

Nelle: You know, you really -- you don't have to do any of this.

Michael: No, it's fine. My car's downstairs. One of the perks about being on the hospital board is that I get reserved parking, so...

Nelle: I mean, I can call a car.

Michael: I'm sure you can, but why would you do that?

Nelle: I don't want you pitying me.

Michael: Pity? Why would you, um -- why would you say that?

Dillon: Okay, tampering with Morgan's meds to cause a breakdown -- that is horrible, probably not even legal, but your mom did that. You did not do that.

Kiki: I'm the reason that she did it.

Dillon: It's -- see, this -- this is exactly what I was afraid of. You are feeling guilty, because of something that Ava did, and the next step is you are pushing me away.

Kiki: Dillon, that's -- come on.

Dillon: It's not gonna happen, Kiki. It's not gonna happen, not now, okay? Because you're not even thinking straight. You're freaking out, and I get it. You should be. There is no excuse for what your mom did to Morgan, okay? But your mom is fighting for her life in the hospital, and you can't even get past the window to see her.

Kiki: How can I after what she did?

Dillon: If you don't want to see Ava, I get it. But that is your mom -- no matter what she did. You were there for me with my dad, and I want to be here with you now, and it's not because I feel obligated, it's not because I want to repay you. It is because I care about you that much. I want to help. I'm not letting go, not when you need me. 'Cause -- 'cause I need you, too. Hey.

Kiki: [Sniffles]

Dillon: I'm gonna walk you to work, I'm gonna hug you, I'm gonna kiss you, like I always do. I'm gonna say "Goodbye." Okay.

Kiki: Okay. Um... do we have to do it all in that order?

[Both laugh and kiss]

TJ: Mom!

Jordan: Hey. Hey, baby. [Chuckles] How you doing?

TJ: Good. How are you? So, uh, you wanted to see me?

Jordan: I did. But this time, um, I didn't think it should wait.

TJ: Okay. About?

Jordan: Curtis.

Stella: Jordan was never worthy of your brother. The day Thomas laid eyes on her was a bitter day for our family.

Curtis: Well, Jordan is TJ's mom, so for his sake, let me just --

Stella: I won't say a word against her in TJ'S presence. But he's not here, and I refuse to edit myself. That woman is a disgrace. Why do you think it took me so long to visit? I couldn't bear the thought of laying eyes on her again. But I'm only spiting myself if I let her keep me away from my family, so let's get it over with. What's going on with Jordan?

Valentin: You must be pleased with yourself.

Alex: Not particularly.

Valentin: Only one of us is in handcuffs, and it's not you... Alex.

Sonny: Did Diane call you?

Carly: Yeah. She's not happy that we spoke to the police without her.

Sonny: Ah, well, she just wants billable hours.

Carly: Oh, that's not true.

Sonny: You're right. That's -- that's not fair. Look, Diane is a brilliant lawyer, she's a great friend, and she really did -- she really did care for Morgan.

Carly: She did. Did you know she volunteered to be a special prosecutor on the case if the DA were willing?

Sonny: Sounds good to me.

Carly: Yeah, but don't hold your breath, because Diane is on retainer with you, and Ava is going to be charged with endangering our son.

Sonny: Well, that's a conflict of interest.

Carly: Yes. But Diane did go over the hypothetical case with me, and we have a lot of circumstantial evidence, you know? We do. We have Morgan's pill bottle with the wrong dosage of lithium...

Sonny: Right.

Carly: ...And traces of the placebo.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Carly: We have Lucy who saw Ava throw that pill bottle in the trash in the alley, and then Lucy can also testify that she met Ava at The Floating Rib about the pill bottle when the robbery occurred, and that's how the police picked up the pills.

Sonny: Mm.

Carly: Lucy will also testify that Ava was willing to donate a piece of art worth $250,000 to get the pill bottle back.

Sonny: We're gonna need a hell of a lot more than that to bring Ava to justice.

Michael: I thought we went through this. I'm not -- I'm not hanging around out of pity.

Nelle: Okay, well, maybe "pity's" not the right word, but --

Michael: Why -- why do you keep saying it, then? [Sighs] Was my mother here?

Nelle: No.

Michael: No? Well -- well, my grandma was. I know Bobbie was here when I left, and I have an idea how that conversation went since Bobbie's not very shy about letting her opinions be known, and I-I don't... she doesn't like you very much.

Nelle: Well, yeah. She has her reasons.

Michael: Yeah, she does, but they don't... [Sighs] They don't entitle her to speak for me. You want to know how I feel? I'll tell you.

Nelle: Uh-huh?

Michael: I'm sympathetic because of what you went through, but it's not the same thing as pity. In fact, it's not even close. Pity has nothing to do with it.

Nelle: Okay, then why are you here?

Michael: Well, because in -- in part, I want to make sure that you're okay, but also... because I like you.

Nelle: How could that be true with what I did to Sonny, I mean, what I did to your whole family, Michael?

Michael: Yes, yes. Your lies caused a lot of damage. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But there is a whole other side to you, Nelle. That -- that Nelle that I got to know at the cabin, I want to -- I want to spend more time with her. No lies, no agendas, just you and me figuring things out.

Nelle: When I told you I was leaving Port Charles, you said it was the right decision.

Michael: I did, didn't I?

Nelle: Mm-hmm.

Michael: Well, I guess I changed my mind. I'm -- I'm allowed that, aren't I? Look, I -- I want you to stay in Port Charles...

Nelle: [Sighs]

Michael: ...And I'm going to do everything I can to convince you.

Curtis: You're asking if I've seen Jordan?

Stella: You told me you have a relationship with TJ, so I'm sure you're forced to deal with her a little.

Curtis: Yeah.

Stella: So, tell me. Did Jordan try to keep you away from TJ at first?

Curtis: Yeah. I mean, at first, she was a little lukewarm about me making contact with him.

Stella: Would she interfere between me and TJ?

Curtis: TJ is his own man. He's in college. He's got a cell phone, so why don't you call him? Call him.

Stella: That's not what I meant, and you know it. Yes, I could just go ahead and call him. I'm dying to do that. I love that precious boy. He's all we have left of Thomas. But Jordan has a way of twisting things to her own advantage. [Scoffs] No wonder she worked undercover. That woman's a born liar and prevaricator. I can just imagine what she's told TJ about me.

Curtis: I'm -- I'm pretty sure that she won't turn TJ against you.

Stella: [Scoffs] You were at the funeral. You heard the words that were exchanged. I don't regret what I said, but I do regret the place where I said them. Your poor mother's heart was already broken, and she didn't need me calling Thomas' widow out for the faithless tramp she is.

Curtis: Aunt Stella.

Stella: Which brings me back to my point -- Jordan does not like being confronted with her failings. It's just like her to turn it around and make me the bad guy. If she finds out I'm here, she's gonna poison TJ against me.

Curtis: Jordan would never do that.

Stella: Really? What makes you so sure?

Valentin: Shall I assume the WSB has offered you a reduced sentence in exchange for getting me to incriminate myself?

Alex: Oh, no. The WSB doesn't even know I'm here. I escaped.

Valentin: How resourceful of you.

Alex: Oh, you don't believe me.

Valentin: I wouldn't believe you if you said the sky was blue.

Alex: [Laughs] Oh, so I'm gonna have to prove to you that we're not being recorded. Hello? Testing. My name is Dr. Alexandra Marick, and I was instrumental in this stealing of the classified weapon known as the Chimera, and then, you know, more recently, I drugged my twin sister, Anna, and assumed her identity, which, I suppose in that capacity, I actually impersonated a WSB agent.

Valentin: You sound like a terrible person, Alexandra. I don't allow myself to wallow in self-pity, but I will allow myself a moment to regret the day I met you.

Alex: You didn't mind me when you thought I was my sister.

Valentin: It's the only way you're tolerable.

Alex: [Laughs] [Exhales sharply] I can do something that Anna can't. I can make sure that you get free.

Curtis: Whatever mistakes Jordan has made, they're in the past.

Stella: Mistakes? Is that what we're calling blatant infidelity?

Curtis: Auntie, can I please say something?

Stella: Go ahead.

Curtis: Jordan loves TJ, and she recognizes the value of family.

Stella: Huh! Could have -- I'm sorry. I shouldn't interrupt you. Continue.

Curtis: Jordan would never poison TJ against you. She wouldn't want him to live with that kind of negativity, and I don't think she wants to ruin the connection that he feels for you.

Stella: Assuming he even remembers me.

Curtis: Auntie, are you kidding me? You're his favorite. That boy loves you, and I think you spoiled him rotten. Remember the lightsaber?

Stella: [Laughs] It was Christmas!

Curtis: [Chuckles] "It was Christmas." And he was, what, 6?

Stella: 6, yes.

Curtis: 6. And, you know, all you had to do was get him, you know, the little plastic lightsaber -- $10 at any toy store...

Stella: [Giggles]

.Curtis: ..You know, or -- or -- or $5 at a corner store.

Stella: Mm-hmm.

Curtis: But not my Auntie Stella.

Stella: Mnh-mnh.

Curtis: No, no, no. You took the time to track down an authentic, state-of-the-art, made-to-scale, movie reproduction lightsaber with a neon blade.

Stella: [Laughs]

Curtis: Oh, yeah, you did. Yeah, you did. I don't even want to know what that thing cost.

Stella: It's none of your business what it costs. [Laughs] The look on that little boy's face when he saw it waiting for him under the tree on Christmas...

Curtis: Mm-hmm.

Stella: ...And your mother watching him... I would have paid 10 times what it cost and called it a bargain.

Curtis: That is because -- that's because you love him.

Stella: Mm-hmm. I sure do.

Curtis: And that kind of love sticks with a person. So don't worry. TJ -- he remembers you, he misses you, and that boy loves you. Jordan -- don't even worry about that. Just call TJ.

TJ: Did things not work out between you and Uncle Curtis? Mom, if so, don't -- don't worry about it.

Jordan: No, no, no. It-- it's, uh -- it's not like that at -- at all. It's -- it's quite the opposite, actually. Curtis and I are... it's not just dating. We're a couple now.

TJ: Okay. Cool.

Jordan: Is it? I mean, are you really cool with this?

[Monitor beeps]

Carly: Diane thinks that the DA is going to subpoena Scott Baldwin, but he's gonna weasel out of it claiming attorney-client privilege.

Sonny: He's Ava's lawyer. He doesn't have to disclose what she says to him.

Carly: I know, I know, but we also have Dr. Maddox, okay? He's able to testify that Morgan's behavior indicates that he was getting no lithium.

Sonny: Okay.

Carly: And we also have Morgan's journal. It establishes a timeline. I mean, you can tell by his entries when the lithium stopped working.

Sonny: I don't want to turn that -- that notebook over to the court.

Carly: [Sighs]

Sonny: The DA's gonna read it, Ava's lawyer's gonna read it. They're gonna read it to the jury, you know what I mean? And that's Morgan's private --

Carly: I know! I hate it, too, I do, but what if it's the only way to get Ava convicted?

Sonny: Well, we have to go back to Nelle. She caught Ava in Morgan's room, the same night Lucy saw Ava ditch the pills.

Carly: Oh, that's right. She was staying with you taking care of Avery.

Sonny: So, Nelle can establish that Ava used Avery's visits as a cover to get into Morgan's room.

Carly: It's -- it's a perfect cover to switch the pills. There's only one problem. Why would Nelle do anything to help us?

Michael: Before Ava started the fire, she confessed to my mom and dad that she switched out Morgan's lithium with a placebo.

Nelle: Oh, my God.

Michael: I know.

Nelle: How are you dealing with all of that?

Michael: Obviously, my whole family is reeling.

Nelle: Yeah.

Michael: We all watched Morgan struggle with bipolar disorder, and we -- we knew how much it cost him. [Exhales sharply] I mean, Morgan, he, uh -- he hated Freedman -- the mental hospital. It was like he was broken in there, and for a while, I was -- I was -- I was afraid that he'd give up, but he didn't, you know? He -- he got the help that he needed. He...he actually started to believe in himself. And then, you know what? Ava -- Ava -- she took that from him. First, she took away his sanity, and then she took away his life.

Nelle: You know, maybe when she trapped herself inside and started the fire -- maybe that was karma.

Michael: No, no. It's... what happened to Ava is horrible, but it doesn't change anything. I don't want Ava to suffer. I want Ava... I want her to pay.

Valentin: Let me get this straight. You seduce me, you brand me as a traitor, you systematically dismantle my life, and now you want to offer me my freedom? Go on then. We got places to go, people to see. What are you waiting for?

Alex: Well, it's not that simple.

Valentin: Oh, nothing with you is ever that simple.

Alex: But it is possible for both of us to go free.

Valentin: I think you're free already.

Alex: I'd like to stay that way. Would you like to join me? If you could stop heckling me for a second, I can explain. We only have so much time.

Valentin: Forgive me. Being incarcerated makes me cranky.

Alex: So, listen. There is no way the WSB can prove that you ever stole the Chimera, let alone that you sold it to Helena. I am the only witness against you, just as you're the only witness against me.

Valentin: No. What about Anna?

Alex: Oh, she was on the other side of the planet when this original theft went down. She has no first-hand knowledge.

Valentin: Okay, I follow you. You're saying that if the WSB has us both in custody and we both talk, then we are both done --

Alex: Mm-hmm.

Valentin: Steinmauer for life for both of us. But if you're gone and I say nothing, they can't build an effective case against me.

Alex: Oh. You always had such a gift for strategy.

Valentin: Which includes my ability to question one's motives. What is in it for you?

Alex: My freedom, should I get caught again. Without your testimony, they don't have a case against me. You see? It's a win-win. I just had to come here to ensure your silence.

Valentin: You think I'd incriminate myself?

Alex: I just know how vulnerable you are to Anna, and I can see her making some kind of righteous appeal to you that you have to confess to redeem yourself with her. Don't do it. The truth is we share way more of a connection than you ever had with Anna. I had feelings for you, but you never saw them, because you were always looking for Anna the whole time. You never saw me.

Valentin: You don't give a damn about me. Don't pretend that you do.

Alex: But I do. I mean, that's why I'm here.

Valentin: No. You're here, because you don't want me to give you up.

Alex: Can't I want both? Your freedom as well as mine? [Scoffs] Now, I am far from altruistic, I would be the first to admit it, but I did risk my life for you. I did give you time to outrun that kill order in Lisbon.

Valentin: Yeah, thank you. Much obliged.

Alex: You're welcome. And now I'm giving you a way out. The WSB doesn't have a case against you, so they will have to drop the charges.

Valentin: You hope.

Alex: They will. And when they do, you should come find me.

Valentin: Why would you want me to come find you? They'll almost certainly be following me, and I'll lead them right to you. More importantly, why would I want to come find you?

Alex: Just remember, all this time, it wasn't Anna you wanted. It was me.

Carly: Come on. Do you really want our entire case against Ava to depend on Nelle's testimony?

Sonny: You don't think it could be valuable?

Carly: It could be if she tells the truth. Nelle knows that I am going to do everything in my power to keep her away from Michael, and the best I can see is that Nelle wants me to back off for her testimony, and that's not going to happen.

Sonny: I wouldn't expect you to.

Carly: Okay, so Nelle doesn't get anything out of it if she testifies against Ava, so why would she?

Sonny: Because Nelle owes us, Carly. Well, that's true. After what she did to our family, tore it down, now we're trying to rebuild -- you don't think maybe she feels that she's making amends?

Carly: You believe that?

Sonny: Well --

Carly: You believe that she's just sorry and she's trying to make amends?

Sonny: It's worth a shot -- for Morgan. So why don't we just go talk to her and see if she'll cooperate.

Carly: You're doing all the talking.

Sonny: Right. Come on.

[Monitor beeps]

Ava: [Groans] Shh. Shh. Shh. This isn't a nightmare. You're awake. You've been very badly burned. You set that fire all on your own, and now you are well and truly trapped. You will never be free of this pain, you know? But isn't it what you deserve for what you did to Morgan? You played a part in taking a life, and now this -- this is your life. What did you expect?

Michael: Yeah, we talked about pity before, and I do pity Ava. I wouldn't wish those burns on anybody. What I'd like is -- is for Ava to be healthy and whole and charged with endangering my brother and whatever else the DA can charge her with. And I don't want the horror of her injuries to somehow excuse what she did to Morgan. They're completely different things.

Nelle: Yeah, I g-- I mean, I get it. You know, you're right. Suffering -- not the same as justice. I wish I had known that before I targeted your family, Michael.

Michael: Yeah. I... no, I knew you'd [Sighs] Understand, given what you've been through.

Nelle: You're giving me too much credit. If I had been a little bit more perceptive and maybe even, you know, a little wiser, I never would have done what I did.

Michael: But -- but you did, and you're sorry, and, look, I understand regret, and I know you do, too. [Exhales sharply] What -- what I'm trying to say is... ...you get me, and I think -- I think I get you, too, or at least I hope so. Look, I really, really hope you stay in Port Charles.

Nelle: I'm not going anywhere.

Michael: Can I get that in writing?

[Knock on door]

Nelle: Come in.

Michael: Hey.

Sonny: Hey, um, Nelle... we need to talk to you about something.

[Door opens]

Valentin: Has something happened?

Anna: Well, you're gonna be transported to The Netherlands to stand trial.

Valentin: And you're escorting me personally, are you?

Anna: Why do you ask?

Valentin: I was just curious. You've always been so passionate about justice, Anna. Do you think this qualifies?

Stella: I would have called TJ a million times, but I don't want to put him in the middle between me and his mother, first, because it's not fair to TJ, and, second, because he'll probably side with his mother as a good son would, and it would break my heart. So it's best to avoid the confrontation.

Curtis: That don't sound like you.

Stella: I'm exercising superhuman patience.

[Both laugh]

Curtis: Auntie, look, I wouldn't worry about Jordan at all. She and I have been talking -- well, we talked, and -- and -- and we came to an understanding about me seeing TJ a long time ago.

Stella: I'm glad Jordan's remained civil since you've been living here. I can't imagine seeing her around town has been easy.

Curtis: I mean, we've all made our mistakes. I certainly was no choir boy.

Stella: Y-- you made some poor choices, ran with a bad element for a while. It's nothing compared to what Jordan did.

Curtis: Aunt Stella, we -- we don't --

Stella: She was unfaithful to your brother, and that got him killed. Now, I would never burden TJ with any of that sordid history, but we need to get real when it comes to talking about that woman and what she is.

TJ: I do appreciate the heads-up about you and uncle Curtis, but why are you so worried? I already told you that I'm okay with you two dating.

Jordan: I know. I just -- you made it very clear that this is a little weird, right?

TJ: Well... [Laughs] You know?

Jordan: And you're right. It is. You know, Curtis is still your uncle.

TJ: Well, none of that really matters as long as he makes you happy. Does he?

Jordan: Yeah.

TJ: Then it's all good.

[Both chuckle]

[Monitor beeps]

Ava: There's so much terrible pain to come. You have to handle it all on your own. You know, Kiki hasn't been here once. I think she's finally turned her back on you. Julian? He's probably gonna end up in prison. And Avery -- it'll frighten Avery to look at you. Now, some may say that Sonny did you a favor by letting you live. But you know it. It's no favor at all.

Michael: Mom, Dad, uh -- Nelle's about to be released. We just waiting on the final paperwork. So, uh, what'd you want to -- what'd you want to talk to Nelle about?

Sonny: Do you have any idea what Ava Jerome did to Morgan?

Nelle: Michael was just telling me.

Michael: Yeah. I just -- I filled her in on the basics.

Nelle: I'm sorry. I mean, this must be so awful for you guys. I-I-I -- I'm very happy neither of you were hurt in the fire.

Sonny: Well, it looks like Ava's gonna live, and a case needs to be built against her. It's pretty obvious that she went into Morgan's room and switched his lithium to a placebo, and after he died, she had to cover her tracks. What do you remember a-about seeing Ava in Morgan's room?

Nelle: Uh... it was right before the funeral.

Sonny: Okay. Here's the thing -- we -- we just need to know everything that you -- you saw, okay -- exactly what happened.

Nelle: [Nods]

Valentin: The WSB has no proof that I took the Chimera. If they did, they would have come after me year ago. And if they can't prove possession, then they can't prove that I sold it to anyone, much less Helena Cassadine.

Anna: You confessed to me.

Valentin: It's your word against mine. Unless you recorded me.

Anna: Oh, and what if I did?

Valentin: No. I don't believe you did set me up. I think you just wanted to locate the Chimera and make sure it was destroyed.

Anna: What's your point?

Valentin: The point is that it was. The Chimera is no more. Helena Cassadine is dead. There's no law to be upheld. There's no wrong to be righted. This is a show trial, a chance for the WSB to save face years after the fact. I have no respect for the Bureau, and I see no reason to be separated from my child, spend years in prison just to satisfy their wounded vanity.

Anna: Well, that's way above my pay grade. My assignment ends when I hand you over for transport.

Valentin: Yeah. Is there a timetable?

Anna: 10, 15 minutes.

Valentin: No. No, that's not enough time.

Anna: What, does that interfere with your escape plan or something?

Valentin: I thought I was gonna see Charlotte. Lulu and Dante were here earlier. We agreed that I would see Charlotte and tell her why I was leaving and that I want her to stay with Lulu.

Anna: Well, what -- what are you gonna tell her?

Valentin: Well, not that I'm being shipped off and tried for espionage. I-I was -- I was gonna be vague, and -- and -- and I just want to reassure her. I don't want her to be scared.

Anna: O-okay. Look, even if I called Lulu right now, she -- she couldn't get her here in time. The agents -- they're gonna be in here in a minute.

Valentin: Okay. Do me a favor. Your phone.

Anna: Oh, I don't know if that's a good idea.

Valentin: [Voice breaking] No. I need you to make a video message for Charlotte, and you can show it to her. Come on. There's not gonna be a secret message or anything. You're gonna be right here.

Anna: I'm not worried about that.

Valentin: Please do it.

Anna: I guess I don't want Charlotte to be worried either.

Valentin: Thank you. [Clears throat]

Anna: Go on.

Valentin: [Normal voice] Bonjour, ma petite. You mean more to me than anything in the world. Don't ever doubt that. Papa has to go on a trip, pretty far away, and, uh, I don't know how long I'll be gone. But don't worry about me. I know you will, but I wish you wouldn't. Just know that I'm always with you -- in your heart and in your dreams, just like you're always with me. And, Charlotte, if you ever need me, I want you to go look at the night sky, you find our star. You find Polaris. I know wherever I am, I'm looking to Polaris as well. Then as that star shines for both of us, we're together. Be happy... [Sniffs] 'Cause I couldn't bear it if you weren't. And enjoy your life with Lulu, with Dante, Rocco. I look forward to hearing all about your adventures when I see you again. I will see you again. I promise you that. I'll be back. [Speaks French] A bientôt. [Sniffs] What?

Anna: Why did you tell her that?

Curtis: I think maybe -- maybe I should text Jordan and let her know that you're in town and that, uh, you're gonna be calling TJ.

Stella: I see. I need to clear my visit with my grandnephew through her.

Curtis: Look, Jordan ain't tripping, okay? I am sure she wants TJ to have a relationship with you.

Stella: Hmm! Wouldn't know that by how she's acted.

Curtis: Could you just give her a chance? I-I've been talking to Jordan a lot over the last year. No, it hasn't all been good, but she's learned a lot about the man I've become and the changes I've made. She's made a lot of changes, too.

Stella: [Scoffs] Oh, really? What man does she have her hooks into now? Or is it more than one?

Curtis: All right, that's enough, okay? Now you need to listen. There's something about Jordan that you need to know.

Nelle: You know, I found Ava in Morgan's room looking under his bed. She just said she dropped her phone, but when I offered to help her look for it, she just bit my head off -- acted like she didn't need my help.

Sonny: Ava must have dropped Morgan's lithium.

Nelle: Yeah. You came in shortly after that.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Nelle: You know, I don't remember exactly what was said, but she had time to pocket the pills while you and I spoke.

Michael: Why do you say that?

Nelle: Because suddenly she didn't want to see Avery anymore. She just left. I remember thinking it was really suspicious.

Sonny: If a lawyer asked you something about that --

Nelle: I'll give a deposition.

Michael: Thank you.

Nelle: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: All right, we should go. Um... I'll -- well, I'll have somebody contact you soon.

Nelle: Okay.

Sonny: Goodbye.

Carly: Thank you.

Sonny: The good news is, it looks like Nelle's gonna help us. The bad news is, Michael hasn't given up on her.

Carly: Yep. She knows a good thing when she sees it, and she's gonna do anything she can to hold on to Michael.

Sonny: You think she said all that for his benefit?

Carly: Probably. But right now our priority is to make sure Ava pays for what she did to Morgan, and if Nelle can make that happen for whatever reason, we're gonna have to tolerate her.

[Elevator chimes, opens]

[Monitor beeps]

Ava: All that's left of your life is pain. You don't have to endure it. You can rest. Just let go and rest.

[Beeping quickens]

[Flatline]

Doctor: She's in V-fib . Get the crash cart.

Kiki: What's going on? What happened to my mom?

Carly: I don't know. The doctor just went in.

Kiki: Oh, my God! Her heart stopped!

Michael: Signed and sealed. You're a free woman.

Nelle: Thank you.

Michael: No, thank you. You know, given all the tension with my parents, I really appreciate you helping them out.

Nelle: You don't have to thank me. I'm happy to testify -- whatever they need.

Michael: Just so you know, that -- you know that's not why I'm here, right?

Nelle: No, I know, I know, I know. You want Ava to pay, obviously. You wouldn't use me. Your mom, on the other hand...

Michael: you -- you think my mom wants to use you?

Nelle: No. I was gonna say she actually impressed me. She hates me, and with -- with good reason, but she's willing to put it aside to get justice for Morgan.

Michael: All right, well, maybe this could be a -- you know, a turning point between you two.

Nelle: [Laughs] Don't hold your breath. Her opinion's not gonna change of me. I mean, especially if you and I are gonna be, uh, friends.

Michael: Friends?

Nelle: Yeah.

Michael: Well, I think we're a little bit more than that.

Stella: I can't believe Jordan has us fighting already. And it's beyond me how you can defend that woman.

Curtis: Can we change the subject? I mean, after all, it is my birthday, okay? So, you gonna take your nephew out, or are you gonna cook?

Stella: Whichever you prefer.

Curtis: I mean, you did just get here. I don't want you to, you know, work.

Stella: Mm-hmm, which means you want me to cook.

Curtis: You know I do.

Stella: [Laughs] My pleasure.

Curtis: [Chuckling] Yes! Okay, well, I warned you, uh, the cupboards are bare.

Stella: Well, then we'll make a list, and we will go shopping. Okay?

Curtis: All right. It's gonna be a longer list than you thought.

Stella: I'm just gonna get a couple of recipes off my phone.

[Knock on door]

Stella: Oh, I'll get it.

Jordan: Happy birthday... ...baby.

Agent: We'll need you to sign off.

Valentin: Whoa -- got to keep things official.

Anna: All set.

Valentin: [Exhales sharply] You're gonna get that message to Charlotte, right?

Anna: I said I would, although I --

Valentin: Don't you back out on me.

Anna: You're setting her up for disappointment promising her you're gonna come back.

Valentin: Just have to figure out a way to keep my promise. Bye, Anna.

On the next "General Hospital" --

Stella (to Curtis): I'm not forgiving, and I'm not forgetting!

Finn (to Hayden): What happened?

Hayden: I had children.

Julian (to Scott): Little Scout beat the odds. Maybe her grandpa can, too.

Dante (to Lucy): I intend on finding out what you did, and how you're involved.

Doctor: Nurse, charge to 300 (working on Ava).

Carly (to Kiki): No one blames you.

Kiki: I do!
