Nina: Hey, J.
Nina: Aw, it's so good to see you.
Nathan: It's been forever since we had a brother-sister thing, right?
Nathan: What's up?
Nina: Okay, well, I've made a decision. I think you're gonna like it.
Nina: Okay. I've made a decision about Maxie.
Nathan: You seem happy about this decision.
Nina: I am. I am.
Nathan: Is anybody else gonna be happy about this decision?
Nina: Okay, you're a cut-to-the-chase kind of guy, I can see.
Nina: And I'm trying to keep you in suspense to make it fun.
Nathan: Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please.
Nina: All right, I've done something that I think you're gonna like.
Lulu: Nina, Nathan -- sorry to interrupt -- I need to speak with you about Charlotte. As you probably heard, we just had a wonderful visit, and for next week, I need to ask for a favor.
Nina: And what might that be?
Lulu: I should really be asking this of Charlotte's other, actual parent. Where is Valentin?
Anna: Oh, Valentin. Hi. [Panting] Oh, wow. We always seem to be bumping into each other.
Valentin: Yeah. If I didn't know better, I'd accuse you of following me.
Anna: Well, okay.
Jason: Hey, honey, you wanted an update. Here's the update. I am stranded. I can't seem to find a boat that would take me to Cassadine Island. And I -- whoa, what? What are you doing here?
Franco: I come in peace.
Jason: What the hell are you doing here?
Bobbie: Hey, sweetheart. Thank you so much for letting me use your office. So, Lucy might be a slave driver, but I've got to say that this year's Nurses' Ball is shaping up to be the very best ever.
Carly: Oh, great. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.
Bobbie: What's wrong?
Carly: Nothing. Nothing.
Bobbie: Carly, Carly. I am your mama...
Bobbie: ...And I know when something is bothering you.
Carly: It's just my new attorney -- divorce attorney. She told me to come up with a diary of my marriage to Sonny.
Bobbie: All five or just this latest?
Carly: Just the one I'm ending.
Bobbie: I hate the idea of you having to relive something that's painful to you. Do you have to do it right now?
Carly: It's not gonna get any easier if I wait. And the sooner this divorce is final, the sooner Sonny had to deal with the reality that everything that used to be his is now mine.
Bobbie: Oh, Carly... you know I have never been Sonny's biggest fan. Okay, but... but you might want to reconsider a more amicable settlement.
Carly: No! No, absolutely not. Sonny started this, and I'm gonna finish it.
Bobbie: And if it gets ugly?
Carly: It's going to get ugly. That's why I brought Martina Morales all the way out from the west coast. I needed someone Sonny didn't know and couldn't intimidate.
Sonny: Thanks for meeting me.
Martina: Like I had a choice. What do you want, Sonny?
Sonny: [Chuckles] We need to talk.
Martina: I shouldn't be seen here with you.
Sonny: You won't. Max saw to that when he brought you here.
Martina: Okay, great.
Sonny: Okay. Martina, what happened between us at the Haunted Star, before I knew you were Carly's attorney --
Martina: Why are we going over this? Why are we rehashing it?
Sonny: Well, it turns out you have a problem, and I have a solution.
Nina: You don't need to talk to Valentin. As Charlotte's stepmother, I can consider your request.
Lulu: I'd really feel more comfortable with Valentin.
Nina: Okay, well, he's not here.
Lulu: Fine. Dante and I are taking Rocco to a children's fair in Buffalo, and I was hoping to take Charlotte. Of course, we would bring the court-appointed monitor with us.
Nina: Okay. How long would it be?
Lulu: Well, it'll be a late afternoon, so I was hoping she could spend the night.
Nina: That's not possible.
Lulu: Okay, it's my fault for asking. I'll take it up with her father.
Nina: Well, this is how you are. This is how you are. You're given an inch, and you take a mile.
Lulu: I just thought it would be a nice outing.
Nina: You are allowed one hour with Charlotte a week -- one hour with Charlotte. Listen, Lulu, she has not expressed wanting to spend more time with you.
Lulu: I was just thinking, since things were going so well --
Nina: If things are going well, why don't you just leave it be and let's just trust that the judge knows what she's doing.
Lulu: Oh, the judge -- the judge who bought all of your lies?
Nina: The judge who realized that Charlotte was happier with us than with you.
Nathan: Okay, okay. Calm down. Calm down.
Nina: Okay, it's just, this is what you're doing. You're challenging the court mandate, and it's not right.
Lulu: You are always nasty with me.
Nina: Because you are rude to my husband and you are not good with Charlotte, okay? It's like she's some doll that you want to dress up in little dresses. You don't even consider her feelings.
Lulu: She is my daughter!
Laura: That's enough, Nina!
Nina: Then consider -- consider her feelings, not just your own.
Lulu: Why don't you back the hell off? You're not even really related to her. You are her stepmother. You won't even be that once Valentin betrays you, just like he betrays everyone else.
Anna: You think I'm following you?
Valentin: Running into each other twice in 24 hours is statistically unlikely. Your ankle seems fine, by the way.
Anna: Oh, it is.
Valentin: So soon? That's remarkable.
Anna: It is remarkable. 100%. Yeah, okay, I was following you.
Valentin: So you admit it?
Anna: Well, I think it's futile to deny it. I didn't run into you by accident, because I needed to see you and we really need to talk.
Franco: You and me and a wall -- again. Why do we always end up here?
Jason: Sam was the only person who knew I was here.
Franco: Mm. Sam was the only person that knew you were here, until she told Elizabeth -- and me. I don't think either one of them thought I would come here, though.
Jason: I cannot believe this. I mean, what are you doing? Did you come all this way just so you could look like a hero to Jake and Elizabeth?
Franco: You said you trusted me to do the right thing.
Jason: Yeah, I did. That was before you followed me to Greece.
Franco: My sole motivation is to help Jake. It's a waste of my time and your time for me to try and convince you, so let's stay on topic. Did you solve the mystery of the scarecrow and The Chimera?
Jason: Not yet.
Franco: Okay, well, step one would be to get to Cassadine Island, and for that, you're gonna need to boat. Now, I have a boat -- not a great boat, but it has a cooler, and it's probably the only boat around here that anybody's gonna rent out.
Jason: I'll tell you what I'll do -- I'll pay you three times what you paid for that boat.
Franco: You see, the thing is, I really like this boat now. I mean, like I said, it's got a cooler. So, I guess we're just gonna have to work together. And if we are gonna work together, then we should probably leave together, and we should probably do that now.
Bobbie: I thought a good lawyer is supposed to look at all of the options and do what's best for her client.
Carly: Fighting Sonny all the way -- that is what's best.
Bobbie: I'm sure it is, for her. 'Cause the longer this gets dragged out, the more money she's gonna make.
Carly: I don't care how much money it costs. I don't care how long it takes. Sonny signed over his assets to me, and I'm going to keep them.
Bobbie: Well, not because you need them. Carly, you have plenty of money. You own your own house, you own half of this hotel, and plenty more, don't you?
Carly: This isn't about money, okay? Sonny had Jax arrested. Then, Jax was forced to leave the country and his daughter, and unless something changes, he can't come back.
Bobbie: Oh, stop it. Jax is a billionaire adventurer. He can discover a new country and buy the damn thing for Josslyn.
Carly: Since when did you, all of a sudden, become Team Sonny?
Bobbie: I'm not, nor will I ever, be Team Sonny. But you've got to look at the reality of the situation. What Sonny did to Jax was underhanded.
Carly: Yeah, really.
Bobbie: But he's a mobster with a bad temper and a jealous streak. I mean, do you really have a right to complain or even be surprised?
Carly: Mom... Sonny went after Josslyn's father, okay? And I will fight to the bitter end to make sure he does not see one dime of what he signed over to me.
Bobbie: And that's what's important?
Carly: Hell, yeah, it is! I brought an attorney from across the country to make sure Sonny pays dearly, and he will.
Martina: If you're trying to blackmail me or threaten me with disbarment for not telling Carly about our little tryst --
Sonny: Martina, you don't even know what I'm gonna --
Martina: If you do, it will sink you case. It will appear that you're trying to influence your wife's attorney, and the judge is not gonna like that. So, if anything, we're at a stalemate.
Sonny: Are you done?
Martina: Well, that depends on what you're gonna say next.
Sonny: Okay. I didn't ask you here to blackmail you. I wanted to tell you that somebody saw us at the haunted star.
Sonny: You met her today -- Ava Jerome.
Sonny: I can see by your look that you remember.
Martina: Are you kidding me? She had "viper" written all over her face.
Sonny: Understatement. I don't know what Carly told you, but she is a lying, murderous bitch.
Martina: When she came to you with this information about us, you said...
Sonny: I managed to get Ava to keep her mouth shut, but I know Ava. If she thinks she can hurt Carly or me so she can spend more time with her daughter -- which happens to be my daughter, Avery -- then she won't hesitate.
Martina: All right, then we both lose.
Sonny: Um... which is why I need you help.
Laura: Our table is ready. We should go.
Kevin: I think that's a fine idea.
Lulu: So sorry for interrupting. So sorry.
Laura: Come on, hon.
Nina: How can you be friends with her?
Nathan: Uh, she's not always like that. Nina, and come on, you got to admit, Charlotte is kind of a touchy subject.
Nina: No kidding. That favor is her first attempt in her campaign to take Charlotte away from Valentin and me. And let me tell you something, that's never, ever gonna happen.
Lulu: I am so sorry about that.
Laura: You don't have to apologize.
Laura: Are you okay, Lulu?
Lulu: Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you for getting me away from her.
Kevin: Is Rocco with Dante?
Lulu: No. Dante's working, but Olivia has been itching for Rocco and Leo to bond, so she was happy to take him for a few hours. I really am okay. Okay? I just wish that I hadn't lost my cool on Nina. I know that it's gonna come back to bite me.
Kevin: Do you want to tell us what happened?
Lulu: Does it matter? I shouldn't have lost my temper like that. Nina can say whatever she wants to me. She's not the one fighting for custody. I am.
Nina: In the beginning, Valentin offered shared custody with Lulu, and she was the one who denied it.
Nathan: Okay, let's not -- we don't need to rehash the whole custody thing, okay? That's what the hearing is for. And yeah, Lulu should not have approached you in the first place.
Nina: Well, she did. And I'm not gonna back down from a fight. Listen, I know you don't like Valentin. I know, I know, I know. Nobody in town likes Valentin, and believe me, he has is flaws, but he loves his daughter. He loves her, and she loves him, and that's real. And I'll be damned if Lulu tries to break up our family.
Anna: So, after we ran into each other last night --
Valentin: Another setup.
Anna: No, actually, that was a coincidence.
Valentin: Oh, yeah, right.
Anna: I realized that we actually do need to have a conversation, no matter how difficult it is.
Valentin: Oh, is this difficult for you?
Anna: Yeah, it is, very -- facing you after remembering the things I did to you.
Valentin: The whole "marking me for death" thing? Forget about it. Bygones.
Anna: And I didn't want to come to your home with your family and talk about it there.
Valentin: Well, that's considerate.
Anna: What, you just prefer that we leave our apologies as they are and call it closure and you never see me again?
Valentin: Well, we both know that's not gonna happen, so why don't you just tell me why you're here.
Anna: We need to talk about The Chimera Project.
Jason: I'm just supposed to trust you to get me to Cassadine Island?
Franco: You said you trusted me to do the right thing. The right thing to do is to get to Cassadine Island.
Jason: Just... tell me why you're doing this?
Franco: Just not gonna quit. I love Elizabeth, and I do care about Jake. I care about the whole family.
Jason: Then you know what, you should go back and be with them.
Franco: Okay, now you're just trying to get rid of me.
Jason: That is true.
Franco: Let's just talk about what we agree on, okay? We both want to get to the bottom of this for Jake's sake, and we both that if we are gonna find any answers, they're gonna be on Cassadine Island.
Jason: Do you really have a boat?
Franco: I really have a boat.
Jason: It has a cooler?
Franco: It really has a cooler.
Jason: Let's go.
Franco: See? And people say you're unreasonable.
Bobbie: Carly, I told you, I am always, always, always on your side.
Carly: Then why do I feel a "but" coming?
Bobbie: I just hate the fact that you sound so angry.
Carly: I am angry. I am furious with Sonny, and I don't see that changing, Mom. I...
Bobbie: What? What is it?
Carly: I mean, I don't... I'm not taking back anything I just said. It's just that, you know, when I was... writing in this journal and... writing down things about my marriage, you know, and taking inventory, I just... I remember what it was like to love Sonny and be loved by him.
Sonny: Bottom line is timing. If Ava tells Carly about you before the divorce is finalized --
Martina: That would be very bad.
Sonny: The best-case scenario is, Carly doesn't believe Ava -- 'cause like I said before, she's a lying snake. You're gonna deny it anyway, right?
Martina: Yeah, I plan to.
Sonny: Okay, but I know my wife. She's gonna be suspicious, she's gonna dig around, ask people at the Haunted Star about Ava's story and the whole thing.
Martina: Are they really so easy to be found?
Sonny: Well, my daughter-in-law owns the Haunted Star, and she happens to be Carly's cousin. So, all Carly has to do is ask for the security footage.
Martina: Okay. Good to know.
Sonny: But even if Carly's suspicions aren't confirmed, here's the thing -- she ain't gonna trust you. She's gonna fire you.
Martina: Oh, wouldn't you want that?
Sonny: Well, I'd rather fight with the devil that I know.
Martina: Mm. You mean, the one you think you can leverage.
Sonny: Okay, bottom line, if we can agree on a settlement and finalize the divorce, Ava won't be able to hold anything over our heads.
Martina: Yeah, but Ava could tell Carly months from now, and Carly could still file a complaint with the bar.
Sonny: Yeah, but why would Carly bother if she's happily divorced, and we've moved on? She'll just think that Ava is causing trouble, 'cause that's what Ava does, so... it's all right, we'll be fine.
Martina: [Chuckles] Why do I feel like there's a catch?
Sonny: Because there is.
Bobbie: What do you mean, you remembered what it was like to love Sonny?
Carly: One of Morgan's medication bottles was found in the robbery at The Floating Rib.
Bobbie: How did that happen?
Carly: I don't know. We have no idea. But Sonny had it tested.
Bobbie: Did they find something wrong?
Carly: No. And, you know, I always wondered if, you know, Morgan's pills had been messed with or if he wasn't really taking them, but it turns out that there was the exact amount of lithium pills in the bottle.
Bobbie: So, if I'm hearing you correctly, you still don't know why Morgan started to spiral at the end.
Carly: No, no, but when Sonny was telling me all of this, we weren't fighting and trying to destroy each other in a divorce. We were talking. We were two parents mourning their kid, you know? I mean, it was only for a minute. It's not like I want it to happen again or it's gonna happen again, I was just -- I mean, that's what I meant.
Bobbie: Honey, do you think... if Morgan hadn't died, you and Sonny might still be together?
Carly: It doesn't matter. 'Cause Morgan died. And Sonny and I, we reacted the way we reacted, and we made the choices that we made, you know? I just... [Sniffles] I mean, Sonny... he said our marriage was over, and then I turn around, I slept with Jax, and then he found out about it. And then he has Jax arrested and then deported? It's... I can't live in this fantasy of who I want Sonny to be, you know? I have to deal with the cold facts of who he is.
Sonny: This could all be over, provided you get Carly to accept a fair settlement in the divorce.
Martina: But you'll need to meet her at least halfway.
Sonny: Okay, let me explain something to you. I keep what's mine. She keeps what's hers. That's halfway, and that's fair. She's holding on to my assets to punish me. So you're gonna have to talk her out of that.
Martina: Okay, unfortunately, I was hired to do exactly the opposite.
Sonny: Martina... you are very smart. I'm sure you will find the best solution for everyone.
Martina: You mean the best solution for you.
Sonny: I'm gonna have Max drop you off. You got a lot of work to do. You should start now.
Valentin: The Chimera Project was decades ago.
Anna: Well, yes, it was. I'd like nothing more than to forget all about it.
Valentin: Well, didn't you do that once, or did you just forget about me?
Anna: You think I forgot about you on purpose? Or that you were unimportant to me? You know that the opposite is true.
Valentin: Do I?
Anna: Yeah. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that I used you. And I have to say that it was a lot easier not remembering, because now knowing what I did is -- it's a lot to live with.
Valentin: You looking for sympathy?
Anna: From you? No. Why would I? No. Because I do understand that my struggle right now doesn't compare to what I did to you.
Valentin: Well, the good news is that it's all over, and we can go back to living our separate lives.
Anna: We can't. We have to sort this out. So, you told me that there were other potential buyers for The Chimera Project other than the DVX. So I need to know who you turned it over to.
Valentin: Damn it, Anna. I don't want to discuss this!
Jason: This must be the place. Here. Hold this.
Franco: I thought you'd never ask.
Jason: Just shut up and hold it.
Franco: No problem. You're welcome.
Jason: This must be the scarecrow Valentin talked about. Is this what Jake was drawing?
Franco: Hey, Jason.
Franco: Come here. Check it out.
Lulu: So, you know how I was gonna try to convince Nelle to keep us in the loop about Valentin?
Laura: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you said you were doing well with that. Has there been a setback?
Lulu: No, but Charlotte and I are getting along so well, I think that we can win this on the up-and-up.
Laura: Oh, honey. Oh, that's wonderful. I'm so glad to hear that. But, uh... I think we should have a backup plan.
Lulu: That's true. Probably be good to have dirt on Valentin, just in case.
Laura: Yeah, I'd like to have that, regardless.
Lulu: That man kept my daughter from me for most of her life.
Lulu: There is nothing that I want more than to bring him and his lying wife down, hard. But first things first, right? I win my daughter over, and then I win her for good. If that means I have to play nice with the Cassadines for a little while, then so be it.
Laura: Honey, I'm really glad that your visit went so well, but, you know, keep in mind that Charlotte does love Valentin. It's clear when you see the two of them together. And I -- I hate to say this -- I hate to admit it -- but I think she loves Nina, too.
Lulu: Part of that is because Charlotte didn't really know me. I am winning her over. The more time she spends with me, the more she learns to trust and rely on me, the less she's gonna need Valentin.
Nathan: I hate how you always feel the need to defend Valentin.
Nina: Well, you just hate him, period, J.
Nathan: I don't hate him.
Nina: Yes, you do. You hate him with a passion. A lot of people do. Don't worry about it. I'm used to it. Can we please not talk about him or Lulu or anyone? Can we talk about Maxie?
Nathan: Yes, we can talk Maxie. What about Maxie?
Nina: Okay, good. Okay. If I'm being objective, uh... Maxie did a lot for me. She supported me and taught me the ropes when I started the magazine. I'm forever grateful. Yes, we disagree about Lulu and Charlotte, but the one thing we do agree on is you, and we both love you. And it's not doing your marriage any good with her living in Portland. So I've decided to give her her job back.
Nathan: Really? Yeah, that's great.
Nina: Yeah. I e-mailed her about an hour ago, and I made her the offer, and I told her that we would start fresh.
Nathan: I don't even know what to say.
Nina: [Chuckles] I can't stand one more minute of you pining for Maxie. I can't stand it. I love you. And I want you and Maxie to be as happy as Valentin and me.
Valentin: If you truly regret what you did to me, then drop this.
Anna: No! Because I can't stop wondering what was the fallout. What if the damage wasn't contained?
Valentin: I don't care! I don't want to think about this! I should never have gotten near The Chimera! The only reason I did is 'cause you begged me to. You said you needed it. You said your life was in danger. But you were playing me the whole time! I don't want to think about what an idiot I was. I don't want to think about what a liar you were. And I definitely don't want to think about what I did.
Anna: I'm sorry! I'm sorry.
Valentin: Listen, you say that so often, I'm beginning to doubt your sincerity.
Anna: Well, I mean it! God, can I make amends for what I did, please?
Valentin: No, you can't. But you can drop this.
Jason: Yeah, looks just like the one in Helena's storybook.
Franco: Yeah, but it's more than that.
Jason: This seems to be the tree that Jake must have been hiding behind when he was staring at the scarecrow.
Franco: Yeah, but it's strange because you can't see the scarecrow from behind here. To see the scarecrow, you got to be here. But if you're here, then you're not behind the tree like the kid in the drawing.
Jason: You're right. If Jake was here, the only thing that he could see... would be this wall.
Franco: You see something?
Kristina: Thanks for seeing me tonight.
Sonny: What's up, babe? How are you?
Kristina: Mm. Good.
Sonny: Anytime. I love seeing you, but you're always so busy, so what have you been up to?
Kristina: On top of everything else that's going on, I am also involved in the Nurses' Ball this year.
Kristina: Mostly because of Amy.
Kristina: Amy Driscoll. The nurse at GH. Blonde, funny, lives to gossip. The woman I'm living with.
Sonny: Oh, I didn't know. I didn't know that.
Kristina: I definitely told you about it.
Sonny: No, you didn't tell me.
Kristina: Well, it's no big deal. It's not like you don't have enough to keep track of already.
Sonny: So, what about this Amy?
Kristina: Dad, she's so talented. She's giving Lucy so many great ideas. It's been awesome.
Sonny: That's great.
Kristina: But you don't want to hear about that.
Sonny: No, anything that's important to my daughter in her life, I want to hear about.
Kristina: Well, that will have to wait because I came here to see how you're doing. I know things are difficult with the divorce.
Sonny: Everything is really good on that front.
Kristina: Dad, who are you talking to? Michael told me that Carly's taking everything.
Carly: Martina Morales, this is my mom, Bobbie Spencer.
Martina: Pleasure to meet you.
Bobbie: Same here. I hear you are the best at what you do.
Martina: [Laughs] Well, whoever said that is too kind -- and a stickler for accuracy.
Bobbie: Well, just so long as you're looking out for my daughter's best interests. So, Lucy has been doing a million things for the Nurses' Ball. I think I'm going to kill her one of these days.
Bobbie: Do you happen to practice criminal law?
Martina: Oh. Not in New York.
Bobbie: Well, I'm kidding, anyway. I think.
Bobbie: Bye, sweetie.
Carly: I love you.
Bobbie: You take care.
Carly: Yeah. [Sighs]
Martina: She's a bit of a mama bear, isn't she?
Carly: She is. Where do you think I get it from? [Chuckles] Sit down.
Martina: So, how is your mother taking the divorce?
Carly: Um...she's pretty good, yeah. I mean, she's never been a fan of me and Sonny, so that helps.
Martina: Still, it must be hard on her.
Carly: I think she's concerned.
Martina: Eh, it's more than that, I think. I sensed the same thing when I met Michael.
Carly: Oh, well, Michael, he's very open about wanting me to compromise. He thinks I should give Sonny what's his and keep what's mine.
Martina: Your son may make a valid point.
Carly: Since when?
Martina: Well, I would be remiss as your lawyer if I didn't offer you every option, and one of those would be to avoid all the rancor and bitterness and take a closer look at Diane's proposal.
Carly: Uh, hold on. When I hired you, you assured me that you would make sure I kept everything. Now it sounds like you want to settle. Why? What happened?
Carly: I'm not buying it.
Kristina: I know you signed everything over to Carly. And if she refuses to sign it back, you could be cash poor for a while.
Sonny: Don't worry about it.
Kristina: But I do worry. And that's why I want you to disregard the invoice that you'll be getting from PCU.
Sonny: Why would I be getting an invoice from them?
Kristina: I've been taking some courses.
Kristina: And I'm pleased to report that I have finally gotten my head on straight -- academically, anyway.
Sonny: I'm glad to hear it. What about Amy?
Kristina: Oh, she's been great. I can't even tell you.
Kristina: Anyway, my point is, I wanted to carry a full course load in the summer, and in the fall, I'd commit to getting my degree.
Sonny: That's great.
Kristina: The thing is, because I'm so determined, I can wait a semester or a year.
Sonny: So, you want to get your degree, big-time, eventually?
Kristina: Dad, I told you, I don't want you paying for anything. So I'll work at perks in the summer, save up my money until I can afford to go back to school.
Sonny: You know how expensive school is? You can't afford that working at Perks.
Kristina: It's not forever. I mean, once I can access my trust fund that you set up for me, which won't be until next year? I mean, it's not the kind that I could borrow against, so...
Kristina: Yeah, it's probably for the best. I'd hate for you to put all that money aside for me just to blow it on something stupid.
Sonny: I'm glad you're taking responsibility, but this is --
Kristina: No "buts." I still have to prove myself.
Sonny: To who?
Kristina: To me, for starters. Maybe I can ask Michael for help.
Sonny: You're not gonna ask Michael for help. No, Michael's not paying for anything. I'm your dad, and I'm the one who pays for everything.
Kristina: Yeah, but if the divorce drags out...
Sonny: It's not gonna drag out, 'cause Carly and I are gonna settle soon.
Martina: Carly, nothing has changed. You want me to scorch the earth, I will scorch it.
Carly: Okay, good. You had me worried.
Martina: Well, I charge by the hour. The longer this goes on, the more money I make. And if we go to trial, I will make a killing. But I pride myself on doing what's best for my client, regardless of how it benefits me personally.
Martina: I have reservations about moving ahead. The costs will be great. And I don't just mean financially.
Carly: I know that. I know.
Martina: I just find it interesting that neither you nor Sonny want to involve Michael in your divorce, and yet you seem to be in perfect agreement about Sonny's daughter, Avery.
Carly: Of course, we are. That was never an issue.
Martina: It means that you are closer to compromise than you think. I've reviewed your assets, and you don't need your husband's money.
Carly: No, that was never the point.
Martina: The point is that you're hurt and angry. But those are poor reasons to make life decisions. There's a -- there's a chance here for -- for compromise. And my best advice as your attorney is for you to take it.
Nathan: Well, weren't you worried about Valentin's mysterious past with Anna?
Nina: I was. I'm not anymore.
Nathan: Okay, so, what brought about this sudden and uncharacteristic clarity?
Nina: Somebody suggested something.
Nathan: Who is "somebody"?
Nina: A stranger. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger about something that's important than someone you know. Anyway, it made me realize I was overreacting. My marriage is back on track. Anyway, I don't want to talk about my marriage anymore. I want to talk about yours. Let's talk about your marriage. Soon, Maxie is gonna be back, working with me, and back in your arms. [Chuckles]
[Cell phone chimes]
Nina: Ah, it's from Maxie. Oh.
Nina: "Sorry, Nina. At this time, I have to turn down your offer. I'm unsure of when or if I'll be returning to Port Charles at all."
Lulu: As for Charlotte's bond with Valentin, I don't have to do anything. That man is not the person he's pretending to be, and children are very perceptive. One day, Charlotte will see Valentin for the monster that he really is. When she does, she'll come running to me and never let go.
Kevin: I agree. I think you should be focusing on developing your own relationship with Charlotte. Just one little bit of advice, if I may. I wouldn't try to manipulate her away from Valentin.
Lulu: That's what I'm saying. I don't have to. Real love trumps manipulation every time.
[Cell phone chimes]
Laura: Everything okay?
Lulu: Um... there is a crisis here at the hotel. I'm so sorry. I have to go get Rocco and Leo so that Olivia can do whatever she needs to do. I'm sorry.
Laura: That's all right.
Lulu: Can I just take another rain check?
Laura: Of course, you can. Always, always.
Lulu: Okay. I love you.
Laura: Love you so much. Bye.
Kevin: Well, at the risk of stating the obvious, you seem uneasy.
Laura: [Sighs] Yeah. Yeah. That's an understatement.
Kevin: You don't trust Lulu's assessment of the situation?
Laura: I don't trust Valentin.
Anna: I just thought it would help us both if we talked about it.
Valentin: You don't believe that, do you?
Anna: And you don't believe that I ever cared about you, and I'm never going to say that I didn't.
Valentin: Well, then, we're at an impasse.
Anna: Yes, we are, because I need you to tell me what you did with The Chimera Project.
Valentin: Why would I tell you?
Anna: Decency? I mean, after all, aren't you trying to be a decent man these days? You've got a little girl and a beautiful wife, and you're trying to demonstrate your fitness as a parent and, presumably, as a human being. And I think that you are doing a very valiant effort.
Valentin: Oh, cut it out. You're laying it on too thick.
Anna: Yeah. Probably. But we both know that The Chimera Project had the potential to do so much harm, and it was terrifying enough to think that it was gonna end up in the hands of the DVX, but at least they are a known quantity. So, please tell me that you sold it to them and not to someone else.
Valentin: I can't.
Franco: What is that?
Franco: This is alarming.
Kristina: How do you know you and Carly will settle?
Sonny: I just got a good feeling.
Kristina: Dad, what aren't you telling me?
Carly: No compromise. Sonny signed those assets over to me, and I'm gonna keep them.
Martina: No problem. I had to ask.
Carly: Understood. And now that you've done your due diligence, let's focus on the divorce, okay? As far as the kids are concerned, they are not an issue. Sonny and I, we do not want them involved. When it comes to money and material possessions, I keep everything.
Nathan: Maxie's been really noncommittal about coming back, but this is the first I've heard of her staying indefinitely.
Nina: I think she might be telling me one thing and telling you another.
Laura: If Valentin believes that Lulu is starting to forge a relationship with Charlotte, he won't stand for that.
Kevin: What do you think he'll do?
Laura: Anything. Anything. He killed my son. It's just a matter of time before he does the same thing to my daughter. I can't take that! I can't.
Valentin: I didn't sell The Chimera to the DVX. I found a much higher bidder.
Anna: Why would you do that? You knew what could happen if it ended up in the wrong hands.
Valentin: For the money.
Anna: Oh, okay. You did it for greed.
Valentin: No. No, not greed. The surgeries didn't pay for themselves. And I needed them to start my life over. I had to ditch your kill order. I sold The Chimera for a spectacular amount of money.
Anna: You don't seem very concerned about what could happen.
Valentin: I'm not.
Valentin: I'm not. That was a long time ago, Anna. If they'd wanted to use The Chimera, they would have, and now they're dead. They're stone dead. So don't worry. The Chimera Project will never see the light of day.
Franco: What? What is it?
Jason: It's me. I'm the scarecrow.
On the next "General Hospital" --
Curtis (to Jordan): I can't believe you're making me do this.
Nina (to Valentin): Oh, my God. I-I-I can't do this anymore.
Valerie: (to André): Are your ears burning or what?
Anna (to Valentin): I can just disappear from your life for good. It's your choice.
Franco (to Jason): You are who Jake's been afraid of all this time.
Man (to Elizabeth): Special delivery.
