Jordan: Your attorney called... he's running late.
Julian: How late?
Jordan: I don't know. How long does it take to catch an ambulance?
Julian: Well, I guess... [Sighs] You'll be marching me back to my cell, which is fine, since it seems to be the only cardio I'm getting around here.
Jordan: Well, you'll have to wait. Baldwin will be here with the good news.
Julian: What good news?
Jordan: I guess I will be the one to tell you that the DA has decided to drop the charges of kidnapping against you.
[Police radio chatter]
Jordan: Your ex-wife.
Alexis: Malcolm O'Hare?
Malcolm: Alexis. Good. You can save me a phone call. I'm supposed to meet Diane Miller here about your suspension?
Alexis: You are?
Malcolm: I'm sorry. I thought you knew. Unfortunately, I've been called into court, so I'm going to have to reschedule. I'll send Diane an e-mail, but in the meantime, if you see her --
Alexis: I'll tell her. But, uh, do you -- do you just have a second?
Malcolm: [Sighs] One.
Alexis: That's all it'll take. What are my chances at being reinstated?
Malcolm: Given your recent actions toward Julian Jerome? The odds of you getting your law license back have not improved.
Hayden: Hi Tracy, it's Hayden. Uh... I just wanted to say how glad I was to have had a chance to say goodbye. Thank you for everything you've done for me, and... good luck, Tracy. I --
Brad: Tracy Quartermaine's gone? Where'd she go?
Hayden: I hope you find what you're looking for.
[Vending machine clunks]
Hayden: Take care.
Hayden: Yeah, Tracy has gone away.
Brad: Uh, when will she be back?
Hayden: Probably not for quite some time.
Brad: [Chuckling] Yes! Ha! Ha! One less Quartermaine hovering around protecting your junkie boyfriend.
Hayden: Not that it's any of your business, but Dr. Finn's recovery happens to be going very well.
Brad: Actually, Hayden, if I were you, I wouldn't count on that.
Finn: Dr. Munro, you wanted to see me?
Griffin: [Sighs] Yeah, I just got your second drug test back from the lab.
Griffin: You tested positive. Again.
Finn: Wait, what?
Griffin: You're still using, which means... you're out.
Martina: Okay, so that includes everything we discussed.
Carly: Wow. You are thorough.
Martina: That's why you're paying me the big bucks. [Laughs] Okay, I'm gonna head back to Haunted Star and get some work done. I'll be back in an hour or so and give you a complete update.
Carly: Perfect. Thank you.
Martina: You have any, um, questions before I leave?
Carly: Just one. What were you and Sonny talking about after Diane and I left the conference room? [Sighs]
Sonny: [Sighs deeply]
Ava: You're late.
Sonny: What? I'm right on time.
Ava: I think it would make a better impression if we had arrived together.
Sonny: Well, the less time I spend with you, the better.
Ava: [Sighs] Do you have to do that? Do you have to do that now? I mean, don't you think we could present a united front for the sake of our daughter?
Sonny: Okay, I won't mention how much I despise you. Would that be okay?
Ava: Well, I hate you, too.
Ava: I suppose I should be lucky you're here at all. You're probably very tuckered out. I saw you at the Haunted Star last night. Tell me, do you think this will hurt your case in court when Carly finds out?
Alexis: I admit that I was somewhat hesitant in trying to get my license back.
O'Hare: A special meeting was convened out of respect for you and your formerly sterling reputation, and you blew it off at the very last minute.
Alexis: I had my reasons.
O'Hare: Which were?
Alexis: Deeply personal. And I will disclose them if, and only if, the committee and my attorney feel that it's relevant.
O'Hare: Hm. I don't know how I'll live with the suspense until then. In the meantime, I'm needed in court.
Alexis: I don't understand how my statement concerning Julian's kidnapping charges is a detriment to my getting my license back.
O'Hare: Then you're not nearly as good a lawyer as everyone always thought.
Alexis: I told the police the truth. What would you have me do?
O'Hare: Then why were you in a motel room with him? Other than the obvious reasons.
Alexis: Aside from how inappropriate that insinuation is --
O'Hare: You're right. That was inappropriate.
Alexis: Thank you.
O'Hare: But I'm betting it was accurate. Julian approached me on the pier, and I willingly went with him to his motel room.
O'Hare: That's not how it looks.
Alexis: But that's what happened. I did not aid and abet him in any way. It is my duty as an officer of the court, even while suspended, to do the right thing in the name of justice, and that's what I did. And so the bar's gonna hold that against me?
O'Hare: Your ex-husband was already wanted for a number of other crimes. And under the ethical code of conduct, a lawyer must avoid even the appearance of impropriety. I'm sorry, Alexis, but you and I both know that standard was not met here.
Julian: So what exactly did Alexis say?
Jordan: That you lied when you said that you kidnapped her. Alexis -- she insists that she went to the motel with you of her own volition.
Julian: [Chuckles] And you believed her?
Jordan: Does it even matter? It doesn't even matter anymore, because our primary witness says that the crime didn't even happen. And so now the DA -- he's gonna just... just gonna drop the indictment altogether.
Julian: So Alexis did that for me, huh?
Jordan: She did what Julian? She lied?
Julian: I didn't say that.
Jordan: One of you lied, and that's obvious. And you better trust and believe that I will do everything in my power to make sure that the remaining charges against you -- that they stick. Excuse me.
Griffin: And the results are almost identical to the first test -- clear signs of Zekenestrol in your system.
Finn: Griffin. I'm not using. And clearly you do not believe me.
Griffin: You know, I-I-I truly hoped that your first test was actually a false positive.
Finn: I haven't touched Zekenestrol or any other narcotics since before I... began the program. All right? Clearly there's a -- there's a problem with these results.
Griffin: I supervised both tests.
Finn: No. No, you...you -- you supervised the collection, right? You weren't in possession of the sample afterwards, and you certainly did not conduct the tests yourself, did you?
Griffin: Are you suggesting that somebody tampered with your results?
Finn: I'm not suggesting anything. I'm saying it's the only explanation.
Griffin: Okay. Then who?
Hayden: Lucky for me, I'm not you, Brad.
Brad: [Chuckles] Um... have you seen my husband, 'cause I think I'm kind of winning the whole "which one of us is it better to be" contest.
Hayden: And clearly Dr. Jones is losing. And while it may suck to be Dr. Finn right now --
Brad: [Coughs] Because he's a drug addict.
Hayden: Because recovery is a difficult and challenging process. I, for one, have every confidence in him.
Brad: Okay... why?
Hayden: Excuse me?
Brad: Finn's lied to you plenty about being clean. See that's what drug addicts do -- they...they lie, and people like you and me get caught in the middle.
Hayden: And how exactly were you victimized?
Brad: Are -- are -- are you kidding me? I bent over backwards to help Finn. Okay, I helped formulate the drug that cures Blackwood's syndrome. And, uh, oh yeah! Saved your life!
Hayden: [Sighs] Had I known we'd keep having this conversation, I might have welcomed the chance of eternal rest.
Brad: And how have I been paid for all my numerous acts of kindness and charity? Finn cheats me out of the profits.
Hayden: From what I understand, he never promised you anything.
Brad: Finn should have done the right thing by me, okay? You know it, and he knows it. But he bought his way into becoming th-this -- this hero of the hospital, and in the meantime, I'm out a condo with a lake view.
Hayden: Oh! Ho! You know, you almost had me, right until you made this about a condo.
Brad: Okay -- n-no, no. This has nothing to do about my condo!
Brad: Okay. I'm worried, all right? Sincerely and truly worried that Finn's sizable donation to the hospital gave him this -- this pass just as his addiction was being discovered.
Hayden: He's getting the help he needs. Why do you have such a problem with that?
Brad: Because it won't work. He'll just blow it again. And not only because he's a junkie, but because he's a jerk.
Brad: Okay, Finn -- Finn thinks that th-the... the rules don't apply to him. And the arrogance and entitlement are gonna bring him down. I guarantee it.
Hayden: Do you, now?
Brad: Oh, beyond a shadow of a doubt. And with Tracy being gone from the hospital, there'll be no saving him.
Dr. Obrecht: Hm. Tracy Quartermaine is gone from GH.
Hayden: She's left the country on personal business. That's all you need to know.
Dr. Obrecht: For how long?
Dr. Obrecht: Is that so?
Hayden: Dr. Obrecht. I know what you're thinking, and you couldn't be more wrong.
Ava: So, you got busy with another woman, huh?
Ava: [Laughs] Good for you. I doubt an infidelity at this stage would influence the court one way or the other. But really, you could be a little more discreet. Not that you could do anything to make Carly angrier than she already is. That woman has a real high capacity for rage, don't you think?
Sonny: Stay clear of my personal life. You of all people should know that I -- I don't like when people interfere.
Ava: Carly, for a lack of a more creative word, is a bitch. I just want you to know that I'm... I'm thrilled that you're free of her. And when I saw you last night, and I saw you slip off that wedding band... oh, look. It's still off -- I was happy. I'm happy for you.
Sonny: Okay, let me -- let me make myself clear, if I haven't already. You stay out of my divorce, or you will regret it.
Martina: I took a moment with your husband to fire a warning shot. I wanted him to know the extent to which we are prepared to fight, and I advised him that it would be best for him to settle now.
Carly: Ah, I appreciate your impulse. But just so you know, that's not gonna happen. Sonny never admits defeat. Ever.
Michael: Morning, Mom.
Carly: Hey, Michael. Michael, this is my attorney, Martina Morales.
Carly: This is, uh, Michael, Sonny and my oldest.
Martina: Nice to meet you.
Michael: Nice to meet you.
Martina: Right. I'll be back in a bit.
Carly: Okay. Come here. Have a seat. Sit down with me.
Michael: So, um, uh, that's who you brought in to handle your divorce?
Carly: Yeah. Well, your dad hired Diane first, so I don't really have a choice.
Michael: Well, I-I heard that Ms. Morales has a pretty excellent reputation.
Carly: Yeah, she's the Diane Miller of the west coast, so...
Michael: Oh, I see she's keeping you busy.
Carly: Yep, that's the petition for divorce.
Michael: Can I take a look?
Carly: Yeah, go ahead. I mean, it affects you, and your dad already knows everything that's in there.
Michael: [Sighs deeply] Are you really gonna go through with this, Mom?
Alexis: How are you holding up?
Julian: I'm okay.
Alexis: Well, I should go before someone sees me.
Julian: Alexis. I know what you did for me -- you know, about the kidnapping charges. Thank you.
Alexis: All I did was tell the truth.
Julian: But you shouldn't have.
Alexis: I think it's high time we were honest -- not just with each other, but with everyone about everything.
Julian: [Chuckles] Well, I don't know, but... [Chuckles] ...I'm not sure that telling the truth is gonna set either one of us free. And... I can't let you ruin your life again because of me.
Michael: I was really hoping you'd reconsider.
Carly: You know, I did. I really did. For a minute there, I thought about the consequences. And I thought how you and Diane want me to compromise. And then I thought about how Jax was arrested in front of Josslyn. And then I thought about how Jax is now banned from coming into the United States because of your father, so as far as I'm concerned, Sonny is getting exactly what he deserves.
Michael: I mean, you can't even let him keep Perks?
Carly: I can't -- hey, I'm not stopping him from going and getting a cup of coffee there.
Michael: Oh, come on. That's gonna be hard for him to do when he has to live on his island with Avery for the next two years.
Carly: That's not gonna happen! You underestimate your father, okay? It's gonna take him six months tops to launder enough money to open up a legitimate business. Hell, I'll even let him move back into his house on the lake if he signs a lease.
Michael: Oh, Mom, come on.
Carly: I told him there was gonna be a reckoning, Michael, and this is it.
Michael: Okay, so -- so you're -- you're hitting him as hard as you can where it hurts the most?
Carly: You're damn right! With no regrets.
Michael: Hm. Not yet.
Ava: In my experience, most people who are getting divorced only say they don't want to talk about it. And then they go into excruciating detail. You seem determined not to go into any detail at all.
Jan: Oh, Ms. Jerome, Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: Hi, hi, hi.
Jan: Sorry to keep you waiting.
Ava: Oh, not to worry. Avery's father and I were just discussing...
Sonny: [Clears throat]
Ava: ...How impressive your facilities are.
Jan: Thank you. We try to stay ahead of the curve.
Ava: Well, you certainly do more than try. You succeed!
Sonny: [Chuckles] My grandson, Rocco, went here.
Jan: Rocco was a delight.
Sonny: His parents are very happy with the program. Um, and most importantly, Rocco was.
Ava: Well, you've met our Avery. I'm sure you can see what a bright and inquisitive child she is.
Jan: Avery seems like an ideal candidate. If only we weren't so tight for space. I'm sorry, we have no room for your daughter.
Hayden: Dr. Obrecht, if you think Tracy's absence is an opportunity to get yourself back on the hospital board, you can forget about it. The Quartermaines will have a major voice in appointing Tracy's successor.
Dr. Obrecht: I don't know why I am surprised. The days of this hospital being run with fairness and a sense of democracy...
Dr. Obrecht: ...Have long since ended!
Hayden: Yeah, I heard when you were chief of staff, you were a regular Justin Trudeau.
Dr. Obrecht: How dare you compare me to that maple-infused Pollyanna.
Dr. Obrecht: I'm sorry. Am I boring you?
Brad: Or has your, um, boyfriend stood you up to score some Zen-Zen?
Hayden: I thought he would be done with the meeting by now.
Brad: Oh, now what meeting might that be?
Hayden: One above your pay grade.
Dr. Obrecht: I do hope Dr. Finn is not shirking his duties. With his drug rehabilitation, I know his duties have been strictly limited. Of course, that is all the more reason he should contribute 110% to the remaining tasks he is permitted to perform.
Hayden: He's working diligently on other projects related to his field.
Dr. Obrecht: Oh, and while he is busy concocting new plagues and pandemics, the rest of us need to go about the business of, oh, saving lives.
Hayden: His cure for Blackwood's Syndrome is already saving thousands. But to give credit where credit's due, I hear the records room is more organized than ever. [Walks away]
Dr. Obrecht: Somewhere, a garden is missing a gnome.
Dr. Obrecht: Still, I believe I hit a nerve.
Brad: Well, buckle your seatbelt, 'cause something big's about to hit the fan, and it's all about dr. Finn.
Finn: Now, the only way for my drug tests to come out positive is if someone's tampering with them.
Griffin: Finn, I don't think you understand. You've already had two chances. I have no other choice but to go to Monica and start the termination proceedings.
Finn: No way, that's -- I know the regulations, all right. It says "in a timely fashion." That gives you just enough leeway to let me follow up on my theory.
Griffin: All right, and what will you do while I buy you this time? Which I haven't agreed to do.
Finn: I know. Okay, okay. Listen, you order a new test, all right? I will provide you with a new sample, and you oversee it every step of the way. And then I guarantee you, I pass.
Griffin: [Scoffs] Look, you've already had two positives. I-I-I don't know that I could do that.
Hayden: Yes, you can. I'm sorry to barge in, but I heard Finn, and I didn't want to waste any time.
Griffin: So why do I have to reorder the test?
Hayden: Because someone is setting Finn up. In fact, I was just talking to him.
Griffin: Well, can you give me a name?
Hayden: Of course, I can.
Finn: I -- I was just, uh -- I was just mentioning to, uh, Griffin how we -- we -- we -- until we have concrete proof, we don't want to go public with anything.
Hayden: Well, of course we don't want to go public with our suspicions.
Finn: Thank you.
Hayden: But I think we can trust Dr. Munro, and if we're going to investigate, he should know who we're investigating. Besides, it's not that hard to figure out who it is.
Griffin: Look, you need to be realistic. There have already been two positives. I -- I doubt one clean test is gonna be enough to reassure Monica and the board.
Hayden: What if there was a test that could prove Finn was set up and also who was skewing them?
Julian: And after all the pain I've caused you, terrorizing you, lying to you, driving you to drink...
Alexis: Well, you know, unfortunately, it's gonna be my responsibility to have to deal with it.
Julian: Well, can I at least take responsibility for giving you so many reasons to want to feel numb?
Alexis: That seems fair.
Julian: I mean, you gave me a family, Alexis. I mean, you showed me love that I -- I never understood until I met you. You gave me so many reasons to want to be a better man. And as long as we're taking responsibility for our lives, I just need to look you in the eye and tell you I screwed up.
Alexis: You did tell me now.
Julian: But, Alexis -- [Scoffs] You don't deserve any of this. All right? You didn't ask me to meet you down at the pier, I mean, I could have just turned around and let you go on your way, but I didn't. I... I showed my face.
Alexis: I'm glad you did. [Sighs] I left with you, you didn't force me, and there was no reason to say that you did.
Julian: But you could be charged as an accessory. You could lose your law license forever.
Alexis: The DA is not pressing charges.
Julian: What about your law license?
Alexis: It's still up in the air.
Julian: So, there you go. I screwed up your life again.
Alexis: You know, it's gonna work out. One way or the other, it will work out.
Julian: Well, either way... ...I am so sorry.
Jordan: What the hell is going on in here?
Ava: Of course, you have room. Avery is an exceptional child. She would be an asset to any classroom.
Jan: PC Academy pre has been fortunate in recent years to receive recognition as a premier learning center for the very young. As a result, we've seen a significant uptick in applicants -- more and more each year. Given how competitive it is, and given that you applied late and did not provide references, I'm afraid Avery's class is full.
Ava: Okay, how much?
Jan: I beg your pardon?
Ava: How much will it cost for you to miraculously find a spot for Avery?
Jan: Ms. Jerome, please. It certainly isn't a matter of money.
Sonny: Okay. You know... I think I -- I think I know what's going on. Let's -- let's just address the elephant in the room. Avery's mother has a reputation.
Ava: Hey! What are you --
Sonny: No, I -- so do I!
Jan: I really can't speak to that --
Sonny: No, I -- I -- listen. I know what people think of me, and I know I've been in the news lately and not for anything good. Although, I did save a boatload of people. That was years ago and people forget.
Jan: I remember hearing about it.
Sonny: Okay. But there are rumors and there are allegations that are false, and the whole thing, and I know that your school is concerned. Am I right?
Jan: Well, uh...
Sonny: You don't have to answer that, 'cause I know I'm putting you on the spot, and I apologize for that. But here's the thing. You shouldn't really believe everything you read in the newspaper, 'cause it's not really the whole story. I think we can all agree that Avery is a beautiful, intelligent little girl.
Jan: Oh, she is --
Sonny: And that's because of the way she was raised. Now, I'm not gonna take all the credit, 'cause there's a few people that have cared for her and loved her and made her the terrific little girl that she is, especially... ...my wife, Carly. You ever heard of the Metro Court?
Sonny: Yeah, she owns it.
Jan: I saw that on the application.
Sonny: Yeah. Well, here's the thing. Uh, Carly is a great mother, and she's loved Avery like... she was her own. Ain't that right, Ava?
Ava: Truer words.
Sonny: Avery's got two brothers, two sisters, a stepsister, and everyone has really cared and loved her and... Avery would just love to go to the same school that her nephew Rocco went to. I think it would just be -- it would build the -- the bond stronger. And I know I'm being biased, but I think Avery would be just as good for the school as the school would be for Avery.
Michael: Look, I'm sorry things didn't work out with you and Dad. I really am. What -- what Dad did to Jax is unforgivable.
Carly: That's an understatement, Michael.
Michael: But Jax will be okay. And the rest of us -- you, me, Joss -- we'll still be standing.
Carly: That's great. It's not good enough.
Michael: Mom. [Sighs] We all lost Morgan, okay? We -- we -- we all -- we all still miss him, but you know what? We all have each other. And Dad -- all he's gonna be left with is his business. And if you try and take that away from him, he's going to hate you.
Carly: I'm not trying to do anything! It's already mine, Michael. I'm not --
Michael: Those things -- okay, those things. Pozzulo's, Corinthos Coffee -- those aren't just business fronts to Dad. They're very -- they're very dear to him.
Carly: Okay. I see how badly you want to negotiate a compromise. I do. And I agree that a truce may be what's best for everybody else, but not for your father, and certainly not for me. I am sorry, Michael, but Sonny wants what he wants, and if he doesn't get it, he will flatten anything in the process. And now it's time for him to see how that feels.
Michael: So that's what -- that's what you want? You want to flatten Dad?
Carly: No! No! I -- I want your dad to pay for what he did to Jax. That's what I want. I'm sorry. Josslyn's on my side. Tell me you're with me, too.
Brad: And just how have I been repaid for my numerous acts of kindness and charity? Finn cheats me out of the profits from the drug we produced. Okay, I am out a condo with a lake view, and it's just all wrong!
Dr. Obrecht: Mr. Cooper, may I remind you that I was the first to denounce Dr. Finn? Of course, no one would listen to me back then. The almighty Monica chose to ignore my grave and increasingly valid concerns.
Brad: Yeah, well, I still blame Finn for everything, so it's --
Dr. Obrecht: Shh, shh...
Griffin: Okay, okay. I've had reservations about this, but I think you're right.
Hayden: You don't mean --
Griffin: I've reconsidered. Dr. Finn, despite your two positives on your drug screening, I will make a one time, special exception, and allow a third test.
Finn: Really? I swear I knew you were gonna say "No."
So did I. I'm glad we were both wrong.
Brad: Are you kidding me?! This is an outrage!
Alexis: It was my fault.
Julian: No, it was mine.
Alexis: I shouldn't have come in here.
Julian: I should have sent you away.
Alexis: Uh, I was just concerned that he was...
Julian: Actually, Commissioner, you're the one who left the door open.
Jordan: Just shut up! Both of you. I am so sick and tired of the two of you protecting each other.
Julian: You know what, I'm just telling you it was my fault.
Jordan: Oh, like when you kidnapped her? You know, up until now I thought that maybe Alexis was just... was covering for you, but now...now I see. You would follow him anywhere.
Alexis: That is a gross oversimplification.
Jordan: Do you hear yourself, Alexis? By all reports, you used to be a smart, strong, confident woman. This guy comes along and turns you into a poster child for codependency? What happened to you? What happened to your -- to your pride, your self-respect? You have three daughters, and this is the example that you set for them?
Carly: I have to do this. But I don't think I can if you're not with me.
Michael: Mom, you know I'll never side against you. All I want is what's best for you, what's best for all of us.
Carly: I know. I know that.
Michael: But when I say all of us, that includes Dad.
Michael: And...[Exhales sharply] ...What I'm trying to say is, I'm not gonna side with Dad. I'm not gonna side with you. I'm a neutral party here, okay? I'm Switzerland.
Carly: I understand. I do.
Michael: Good. While you're at it, why don't you send that lawyer home, back to Los Angeles, so you and Dad can figure this whole thing out on your own.
Carly: We already tried that. Every time your dad and I sit down and we try to have a reasonable conversation, one of us sets the other off and we end up being angrier than we were before we started.
Michael: Okay. Mom, if you want your marriage with Dad to be over, then you know what? Just let it end. Don't prolong your life with him by waging a war that's only gonna hurt everybody that you care about. Especially you.
Carly: I love you. I do. And I will listen to you about anything at anytime, except for this. I'm sorry, Michael. I am. Sonny brought this on himself, and he is going to have to face the consequences.
Sonny: I'm just talking a lot right now, and I'm -- it's -- I don't know.
Ava: You are, you're... you're a regular chatterbox.
Jan: No, it's fine.
Sonny: I just hope that I made sense, and that you can see how important it is for our child to go to the school, and... you know, get the gifts that this school has to offer.
Ava: I couldn't have said it better myself.
Jan: You know what? Let me see what I can do. I feel confident that we can squeeze one more in for next year.
Sonny: Well, that's all we're asking for.
Ava: Yes, that great, thank you so much.
Jan: I, uh... I have another meeting now, but I will send the papers over.
Sonny: Oh, all right. Well, I'll look forward to it.
Jan: Of course. Oh, and Ms. Jerome, I'll include an extra donation slip -- in case you're feeling especially generous.
Sonny: Oh, that's not gonna be necessary, 'cause I already arranged a donation.
Jan: Thank you...
Jan: ...Mr. Corinthos. It's been a pleasure.
Jan: You're not at all what I was expecting.
Sonny: A lot of people say that.
Ava: [Chuckles] That was good. Your speech -- very impressive.
Sonny: Well, yes, it's, you know, being sincere.
Ava: Hey. Don't you think you could just take a compliment? You were very good with her.
Sonny: Well, I just saw what was concerning her, and I -- I -- I put her at ease.
Ava: Yeah. Well, if nothing else, I think this proves that you and I can work together when it comes to Avery, right? And I think maybe this would be good time to tal--
Sonny: I got to go.
Ava: Okay, well, good luck with that divorce. If Diane handles your case even half as well as you just handled Jan, then Carly doesn't stand a chance. Hey, who is Carly's lawyer anyway?
Sonny: Like I told you before. Stay out of the business that doesn't concern you.
Brad: Wh-what is wrong with all of you?! Why are you allowing him to stay in the hospital?!
Griffin: Dr. Quartermaine will be apprised of the situation.
Dr. Obrecht: Dr. Quartermaine is grossly incompetent.
Finn: What hellish dimension do you materialize from? Would you -- think of my heart. Will you please wear a cowbell from now on?
Brad: L-look at him, okay? S-s-see how jumpy he is? He -- he cannot be trusted with patients!
Hayden: Well, it's a good thing he's not treating any.
Dr. Obrecht: Quatsch! This is just another example of Monica's preferential treatment of her pet doctors and reckless disregard for patient care.
Finn: Don't forget about the cowbell! More -- more cowbell. Let's get this over with.
Brad: I've bent over backwards helping you out in the lab and this is how you...
Finn: Brad, I know your concerns, all right? I'm truly sorry you feel that way. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go pee in a cup in front of my supervisor.
Brad: Look at you. And people call me selfish and underhanded.
Hayden: Can't imagine why.
Brad: I helped you out -- both of you. And you just turned your back on me. You're one of those people who thinks they can just get away with anything, right? Lie to anyone, use people, just toss them aside. Look! Hey! I get it. I used to be the same way. But mark my words, there are gonna be consequences that even you can't dodge --
Griffin: Brad, Brad... enough, okay? Why -- why don't you get back to work?
Brad: [Scoffs] There were illegal substances in his bloodstream and you still defend him?
Hayden: Goodbye, Brad.
Brad: Your boyfriend's an addict! And a loser! You'll see!
Sonny: [Sighs] What brings you by?
Michael: Hey, Dad. Just, uh, just wanted to see how you're doing?
Sonny: I'm good.
Sonny: Yeah. I just went to, uh, Avery's preschool. We had, you know, interviews, and it went really well.
Michael: Well, that's awesome. When she starts bringing home finger paintings and art projects, I want my fair share, okay?
Sonny: Yeah. Yeah. Anything else you want to discuss?
Michael: Um, yeah. I... I took a glance at the divorce papers.
Sonny: Oh. I don't want you involved.
Michael: Trust me, Dad, the last thing I want is to be in the middle of this, okay? I just -- look, you... you pretty much signed everything over to her, when you thought you were about to go to prison. Now, in her mind, she has every right to keep it.
Sonny: Well, you know what? She's gonna be in for a rude awakening.
Michael: I know where this is going, Dad. I -- I lived through it. The harder you push mom, the harder she's gonna push back.
Sonny: What's the alternative, Michael?
Michael: Just -- just -- just back off.
Sonny: No chance in hell, 'cause I'll tell you what. Your mom's trying to destroy my business. No one gets away with that.
Carly: Hi, look, I want to tell you. I was, like, reading through the paperwork and thinking about our strategy, and I'm so happy that you're available. [Chuckles]
Martina: Yes, yes. Before we take this any further, though, I just want to make clear. [Sighs] This divorce is going to be a bare-knuckle brawl. I mean, bridges will burn, the earth with be scorched.
Carly: Great. Great. I want to hit him hard, I do. And just so you know, this is Sonny we're talking about. We cannot let our guard down for one second, okay?
[Cell phone rings]
Carly: Oh, I got to take this. I'll be right back.
Ava: Oh, my goodness, I am --
Ava: I am so sorry!
Martina: It's okay.
Ava: Here, let me help you. I'm not usually this clumsy.
Martina: Oh, it's okay. It's just papers.
Martina: What? Okay? Is something wrong?
Ava: No. No. No, nothing's wrong. Here. Here you go.
Martina: Thanks. [Sighs]
Ava: Oh! Are you -- you're a lawyer?
Ava: Can I ask you what kind of law you practice?
Martina: Oh, mostly, uh, family law.
Ava: Is that right? Well, maybe you could spare a few moments for me, um, Martina. I -- I have a small custody issue, and I do not have 100% confidence in my representation.
Martina: Oh. Oh, thanks. Um, but I'm in from out of town handling a special case. I'm afraid I can't handle other clients right now, but good luck.
Carly: Sorry about that. Um... Ava, I have a little business meeting here. Is there something you want to discuss, Ava?
Ava: [Sing-song voice] Oh, my God.
Alexis: I think one thing we can all agree on is that I shouldn't be here, so I'm gonna go.
Jordan: Alexis, we never finished our conversation from the other day.
Alexis: Well, you know, what's one more day?
Jordan: No, I want to say it now. Julian is a murderer. You know it. He confessed to it. Hell, you were almost one of his victims. Yet, you... you are so willing to cover his sorry ass. You even want him exonerated. That is a "love" that I will not understand. I never will.
Brad: Hey. It's me. Listen, no need to send Sean up for the samples. I'm already here. I'll just bring them down myself. Yeah, no problem.
Finn: I'll admit. I like your plan a lot more than I thought I would.
Hayden: Happy to help. What's wrong? You look upset.
Finn: I am. Because no matter how this turns out, it's gonna be very bad news for someone.
Michael: Call Diane. Tell her to stall. Request a continuance, whatever. Push the hearing date back a few months, and then a few more.
Sonny: What good is that gonna do, Michael?
Michael: Well, it'll give you and Mom some time to cool off. You know, maybe you won't forgive each other.
Sonny: That's not gonna happen.
Michael: But -- but you remember the people that you have in common, you remember the life that you have in common. Look, Dad, trust me. If you push this now, Mom will win. And then you both lose.
Sonny: How do you figure?
Michael: You forced Jax out of the country. Mom can do the exact same thing to you. Without your legitimate business to hide behind, you'll be under scrutiny for RICO violations.
Sonny: Is that what she wants? She wants to send me to prison?
Michael: No, no, but look. If you have to live on your island for a year or two, she won't lose any sleep.
Sonny: I let go of my holdings to her under duress, so I can just get them back.
Michael: I wouldn't count on that, Dad. She's flying in this lawyer from Los Angeles, specializes in divorce.
Sonny: I met her, and I know how to handle her.
Ava: This is your divorce lawyer?
Carly: And how is that any of your business?
On the next "General Hospital" --
Elizabeth (to Sam): If Helena did something to Jake, then the clues are on that island.
Charlotte (to Nelle): Do we have to go right now? Can we just wait a little longer?
Jason: It's been a long time.
Martina (to Carly): Are you divorcing him or defending him?
Ava: You won't regret it.
Sonny: But you might.
