Olivia: Mm. Hey.
Olivia: You still awake?
Ned: Yeah. Sorry.
Ned: I'll turn the light off in just a second.
Ned: Go to sleep.
Nathan: I am so happy you are gonna be here tomorrow. You don't even know. I know. I know. I know. A job like that does not just show up in Port Charles, and I know it's great to be with Georgie. And I know that Skype is a bad substitute for being with your kid in person. But you'll be in the same time zone as your husband soon, right? I missed you. No, I've been fine without you. I -- you know, I-I'm a grown man. I don't need you to take care of me all the time, Max. I'm not a child. [Chuckles] Oh, the place is fine. It's, uh... it's exactly like you left it. [Sighs]
Carly: Hey. How's it going?
Kiki: Hi. I'm so sorry. I don't know why the clerk insisted on calling you down here.
Carly: That's okay. No problem. What's going on?
Kiki: I got dragged into this, uh, Quartermaine family drama today, or I probably --
Carly: Really? Who backstabbed who?
Kiki: Well, uh, actually Larry Ashton tried to swindle Tracy, and Ned outed him to the whole family.
Carly: Wow. Go Ned.
Carly: I'm sure there were fireworks.
Kiki: Oh, yeah. I'd never seen Tracy go full-throttle like that, but...
Kiki: ...It was impressive.
Kiki: [Laughs] Anyway, um, I promised Lucy that I would pick up the Nurses' Ball menu cards from the printer and bring them over here, but by the time I got here, she was already gone, and the clerk won't take them, so...
Carly: That's because the hotel does not want to assume liability in case they're lost and Lucy has a meltdown. No problem. I will take them.
Kiki: Um...Carly, are you okay?
Carly: [Sighs] Yeah, that just depends on when you ask. Sometimes, it's minute-by-minute. Sometimes, it's second to second, so...
Kiki: I, uh... I heard about you and Sonny.
Carly: Yeah, we're getting a divorce. It's true. Josslyn thinks I should take my rings off.
Kiki: What do you want?
[Somber music plays]
Sonny: You ready for this?
Martina: Does this answer your question? [Sighs]
[Dramatic music plays]
Tracy: Set it up. End of business tomorrow. Just get it done.
Dillon: What's happening tomorrow?
Tracy: Um... I will tell you tomorrow. How's that?
Dillon: Frustrating. But...
Dillon: ...I learned from an early age not to argue with you when you're in this kind of mood.
Tracy: Which is?
Dillon: Focused, energized. You have made your mind up about something, and you will not stop until it's accomplished.
Tracy: In the last 24 hours, I have realized that my life is off course.
Dillon: Okay, I realize that you were humiliated that Ned's father conned you, but he conned all of us, too. In fact, you were a lot slower to buy into the scheme than --
Tracy: This isn't about Ashton. Sweetheart, something happened to me.
Dillon: What happened?
Tracy: Well, I-I did -- I fall -- fell for Ashton's con, and I was gonna take off with the painting anyway, so I went down to the crypt to say goodbye to my mother and take her some roses. [Sighs] All of a sudden, I blacked out, and I... I had a hallucination. I was, um, in a celestial courtroom, and Scott Baldwin was my lawyer. And, uh, Sonny Corinthos was my judge...
Tracy: ...And if my bad deeds outweighed my good deeds, I was slated to come back as the baby that Skye Chandler is about to adopt.
Dillon: [Chuckles] Okay. So, let me get this straight -- the thought of doing the right thing traumatized you so much you basically had a nervous breakdown?
Tracy: I don't know. The end result is... I'm finally at peace with myself.
Kiki: You know what? This actually is beyond inappropriate on my part.
Carly: No, wait. It's not, okay? It's really not. I thought there would be some kind of closure, something, when Sonny and I found out who was responsible for Morgan's death, and, well, I guess we were just a little too far apart. Sonny said we were through, and I took him at his word. And when he changed his mind, well, uh, it was just a little too late. So tomorrow we start our divorce proceedings.
Kiki: I am so sorry for both of you. I know no matter how badly things ended, I know you both love each other.
Carly: That's supposed to be enough, right? I mean, isn't that what we say all the time -- "love is enough"? But clearly sometimes it's not. Anyway, enough with all that. I'm gonna take these menu cards for you, and if anything happens to them, I will brave the wrath of Lucy. I promise.
Kiki: [Laughs] Thank you. Um, oh, and, Carly? As far as the rings go, um, a very famous woman once said, "I never hated a man enough to give him back his diamonds."
Carly: [Laughs] Thank you. I like that.
Monica: What's all this?
Tracy: Didn't you get my text?
Tracy: I invited you to brunch.
Monica: You're throwing a brunch in my house? Did it ever occur to you to ask my permission?
Tracy: Monica, you can evict me later. Our guests are about to arrive.
Tracy: Ah, like I said -- there's one now.
Dillon: [Chuckling] I don't know.
Tracy: Kiki, I'm so glad you could make it on such short notice. Come in.
Kiki: It's my pleasure.
Tracy: We're in the living room.
Monica: Hi, Kiki.
Dillon: Hey, Kiki.
Kiki: Hey, you guys. Hey, hey, is your mom okay? She was just nice to me.
Dillon: Uh, I have no idea what to tell you other than, "Just go with it."
Kiki: Last night must have really shook her up.
Michael: Well, what happened last night?
Ned: It's a long story.
Tracy: And it's mine to tell, which I will when all the guests have arrived.
Monica: Oh, who else have you taken it upon yourself to invite to my house?
Olivia: Okay, I've got the sponsors sending over the step-and-repeat tomorrow.
Lucy: Okay, okay.
Olivia: Um...what else?
Lucy: Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. Menu cards -- what about the menu cards?
Olivia: Menu cards -- safely locked in Carly's office. I've got my staff setting up the ballroom for your dress rehearsal. And if you need any heavy lifting, we got this guy right here!
Lucy: [Laughs] We need him, "Mr. Muscles," and thank you because we have so much to set up.
Dante: Happy I could help -- not that I had much of a choice.
Lucy: Oh, hey, hey, hey!
Lucy: Your, um, guy -- uh, electrician --
Lucy: My lighting directing
Olivia: B--Bob's your --
Lucy: Oh, great.
Olivia: Bob will be here before 11:00.
Lucy: Okay, you promise?
Lucy: Okay. [Sighs] Thank you. Thank you so much because you guys are always here at the last minute to pick up all my ridiculous curve balls. They seem to keep coming, and I don't know why there's so many because I plan. I promise I plan every year, but the Nurses' Ball just sneaks up on me every single year.
Olivia: Well, Lucy, you know I am always happy to help out, however, I have to go over and kiss my future mother-in-law's ring right now.
Olivia: And if she burns the place down, it's on you.
Dante: Lucy, where do you want this?
Lucy: Oh. Oh, uh, uh, Olivia said we could store that in the backroom. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Dante: All right.
Dante: What are you doing here? You're lucky my mother just left. She would have put you to work.
Nathan: Maxie's coming home tonight.
Dante: Yeah, I heard. Lulu is excited. She missed her.
Nathan: Yeah, she's not the only one. She's gonna be here in a matter of hours, though. [Laughs]
Dante: Well, that's what you've been praying for, right?
Nathan: But...in her absence, I may or may not have treated our place like a bachelor pad.
Dante: Oh, you got the sink full of dishes?
Dante: And the laundry piled high?
Nathan: Oh, yeah. [Sighs]
Dante: That could put a crimp in the reunion, I guess.
Nathan: [Chuckling] Yeah. But I got a plan. I got a plan. I-I hired somebody to clean our place while I splurge on a romantic evening here for the two of us.
Dante: That's good. Pick her up at the airport, get some room service -- she's like that.
Nathan: I hope it's enough.
Dante: Why would it not be?
Nathan: Well, you know, the way she was sounding last night on the phone, it's like Port Charles is the last place that Maxie wants to be.
Lulu: Good morning.
Carly: Good morning. So, uh, where do you want me to set up?
Lulu: Uh, set up what?
Carly: For our meeting. The pharma convention is in town the same weekend as the Nurses' Ball.
Carly: We were gonna discuss using this place for some overflow?
Lulu: I totally forgot. [Stammers, sighs] Tracy just sent me, like, an SOS text. I get the feeling I'm really needed at the Quartermaines'. Can we reschedule?
Carly: For Tracy? No. For you? Absolutely.
Carly: It'd be better for me if we did this another day, too, so, yeah.
Lulu: Because of the divorce. Dante told me that you and Sonny are meeting with your lawyers today.
Carly: Yeah, I'm preparing for a pretty tense afternoon.
Lulu: Yeah. I got the impression that you're planning on keeping everything. Is that really how you want this to play out?
Sonny: [Sighs] Mm. Morning.
Martina: Morning. [Sighs]
Sonny: T-that was unexpected.
Martina: Uh, to say the least?
Sonny: [Sighs] What are you thinking?
Martina: Um, I'm thinking that, uh... [Breathes deeply] I don't even know your name. [Chuckles]
Sonny: Hi. I'm Sonny.
Martina: Hi. I'm Martina.
Sonny: The pleasure is all mine.
Sonny: So... [Sighs] Now that we've introduced ourselves... any regrets?
Martina: Me? No, no. I'm a big girl. Why? Do you?
Kiki: She was so nice to me.
Dillon: I am...
Finn: Here you go.
Hayden: Thank you. Do you have any idea why we're here?
Finn: Uh, I have a funny feeling it has something to do with that.
Hayden: Yeah, it is pretty amazing and extremely valuable. Renaissance art is having a moment in the international marketplace. Too many people have been burned by contemporary artist who overextend and lose value.
Hayden: But a di Cosimo? That's, like, bound to greatly appreciate.
Finn: That's a di Cosimo? Oh.
Finn: I was sort of just amazed how it survived for centuries. It's sort of like a postcard from another era, only it looks like our friend Tracy.
Tracy: Can I have everybody's attention? I want to thank you all for coming. I have an announcement to make, which I will make as soon as all the guests have arrived.
Olivia: Tracy, I am so sorry I'm late. We've been prepping for the Nurses' Ball all morning.
Tracy: That's all right. It's all right. There's another one missing.
Olivia: Oh, my God. You got a room full of guests. You got no food. Okay, don't worry. Don't worry. I'm gonna call the hotel right now.
Tracy: Excuse me.
Olivia: I'll get brunch for 25 --
Tracy: Excuse me. I've planed the menu. Thank you. There will food after I make my announcement.
Olivia: So then make your announcement already before your guests starve to death.
Tracy: When you have married my son and groveled to Monica, and if she deigns that's all right for you to play hostess in her home, then you get to call the shots about the menu. Until then -- my party, my rules.
Ned: Here you go. How about a mimosa?
Olivia: Thank you.
Ned: In the meantime, I have an announcement of my own, as long as that doesn't violate the rules of your party.
Tracy: Go ahead.
Ned: Mother, Olivia, family, assembled friends, it gives me great pleasure to announce that you will never have to hear the name Ashton again.
Sonny: I had a great time last night.
Martina: Really? [Chuckles] I could have sworn you were trying to get over something.
Sonny: Yeah, but then my mind turned to, like, other things.
Martina: Mm. Well, I hope whatever happened between us helped.
Sonny: Well, last night was a welcome distraction for what I got to do today.
Martina: Oh, Sonny...
Martina: ...You are quite the charmer. [Laughs] But I'm sure you've heard that one before. [Groans] I have to send you on your way.
Martina: I have a meeting.
Sonny: That's right -- you said you were in town for business, right?
Martina: Yeah, and I got to -- I got be there within the hour, or my client is gonna be very unhappy.
Sonny: An hour?
Sonny: Hmm. Well, that -- that gives us plenty of time.
Martina: [Clicks tongue] Ooh.
Lulu: I know that it's not my place to get in the middle, but Dante mentioned that you were planning on keeping Sonny's business assets in the divorce?
Carly: He signed them all over to me.
Lulu: Yeah, he did when he thought he was going to prison to protect his family. You don't really want to bleed Sonny dry, do you?
Carly: Oh, come on, Lulu! Sonny has more money than God offshore. I mean, in addition to his island, he is a partner in at least five different casinos, he has sugar plantations, a rum distillery, not to mention millions of dollars in mob money stashed away in the Grand Keys.
Lulu: All of that money is illegal. He can't bring it into the US.
Carly: You know who else can't come into the US? Jax. Sonny got mad at Jax and had him deported. Right now it's a lifetime ban, so if Sonny has to spend a couple years out of the country while he launders money to buy some legitimate businesses, so be it, man. Serves him right.
Lulu: It probably does. But forcing Sonny out of the country? That is scorched earth. I-it's not good for anyone, especially not the supposed victor.
Carly: Sonny is going to live in the lap of luxury, and you know what? He gets to take Avery with him. And that's gonna break my heart because I love that little girl, and I'm gonna miss her. But, you know, this is gonna force Sonny to have to rethink his priorities. So if his kids have to fly down to visit him -- that's what Josslyn's gonna have to do to visit her dad.
Lulu: I just don't think that Sonny is gonna see it that way, and once you go down this road, Carly, you may never be able to come back from it.
Carly: Yeah, well, I don't really think that there's much for Sonny and me to come back to.
Lulu: I have to just grab something from the back room, okay?
Lulu: And then I'll walk you out.
[Clattering in distance]
[Ominous tones play]
Carly: Hello? Lulu? No. Hello?
Lulu: Carly! What are you doing?
Carly: I heard a noise in there.
Lulu: Yeah, my guests! The stateroom is rented out for the week.
Carly: [Gasps] Oh, my God! I did not know that. I'm so sorry.
Lulu: Well, I hope you didn't wake them up!
Carly: No, I am so sorry. I didn't know that you had people staying here.
Martina: W-what's that?
Sonny: Doesn't matter. It's not there now, right?
Carly: Sorry about that. Um, I'll ask before I go investigating.
Lulu: Oh, please, no harm done. Come on, let me walk you out.
Carly: Josslyn says that I should take my wedding rings off.
Lulu: Josslyn has never been in your position before. I have.
Lulu: All I can tell you is don't do it until you're ready.
Carly: I noticed Sonny was still wearing his last night... which surprises me because I-I would think that he would throw them in the trash after what happened.
Lulu: But he hasn't. Maybe there is hope after all.
Sonny: No one's gonna bust through the door, you know, 'cause it's locked. [Sighs]
Martina: I know, I'm just pressed for time. [Sighs]
Sonny: So... [Sighs] You're really gonna send me on my way?
Martina: [Sighs] I'm afraid so.
Sonny: You know what? I had a good time last night.
Sonny: Can we do it again?
Martina: I'd love to, but I'm just here for a week, and my work is gonna probably take up all my time, so I've learned in my line of work to never make promises that I can't keep, no matter how tempting they are.
Sonny: Okay, I'll tell you what --
Sonny: If we ever bump into each other again... we'll see where it goes.
Martina: Leave it up to, uh, fate?
Sonny: Something like that. Deal?
Martina: Deal. [Chuckles]
Ned: My mother named me Edward after her father, my late grandfather, a man she greatly admired for good reason. I was very close to my grandparents growing up, and people would just naturally assume that my last name was Quartermaine. And, of course, then, I'd have to explain that it wasn't. And I don't really know why I kept my father's last name for as long as I did, but I know now there's no reason to keep doing so. I'm a Quartermaine. It's how my mother raised me. It's how I think of myself. It's intrinsic to my identity. It's who I am. And since Michael, with all due respect, is a Corinthos, and Jason is a Morgan, it falls to Dillon and me to carry on the Quartermaine name. And I am very proud to do so. So, this is a copy of the petition that I filed with the state of New York to legally change my name to Edward Lawrence [Laughs] Quartermaine -- assuming you approve.
Tracy: [Voice breaking] With all my heart.
Dante: But Port Charles is Maxie's home.
Nathan: Correction -- Port Charles was Maxie's home, it's like Portland is the "land of opportunity" now, you know? Georgie is there. A potential career at a fashion magazine is there. Realistically, Port Charles is not exactly a fashion hub. When Maxie gets home, she's gonna have to figure out the next chapter in her career.
Dante: Well, she's got you to help her with that -- her husband. As long as you're here, that should be enough for her, right?
[Cell phone rings]
Nathan: It's Max. I got to --
Dante: Yeah, yeah. Go, go.
Lucy: Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Lucy: Why is that still here? Why aren't you moving? I mean, you should be moving. Why aren't you moving-moving, like moving?
Dante: Whoa, Lucy, Lucy, hang on. I was just helping a friend out with some advice, okay? He just had a personal matter he's dealing with.
Lucy: Oh, no. No, no, no. Do not tell me he's going to lobby me to let his mother perform. Oh, come on, she has been calling me nonstop. I cannot get rid of her, and I guess I'm kind of torn... [Sighs] ...Because on the one hand she is a horrible, icky woman who has no confidence in the traditions of our Nurses' Ball. But on the other hand, she's kind of talented. I mean, do not tell her I said this. I would never say this to her face, but she did, with that "Willkommen" from "Cabaret," bring down the house. You know what I mean?
Dante: Yeah, no, it wasn't that.
Lucy: She did.
Dante: Uh, what's up? Flight delayed or something?
Nathan: Yeah, something like that. [Sighs] Maxie's not coming home.
Tracy: Okay, now that you're here, we can get started.
Lulu: Uh, I did not realize -- I had a meeting scheduled. I'm sorry. What am I late for?
Olivia: A brunch-like gathering without any food.
Tracy: As I have explained, the sooner I make my announcement, the sooner we can eat.
Monica: Okay, fine. Make your announcement.
Tracy: Okay, first, I want to give Lulu a little context. My son Ned has just announced that he is going to legally change his name to Quartermaine.
Lulu: No more Ashton?
Ned: Not a chance.
Tracy: It's a long story. I will now attempt to set the record straight.
Dillon: Good luck with that.
Tracy: In the late 1980s, my father faked his own death and went into hiding. In the course of his travels, he came upon this painting, and he purchased it. I think we can all agree it looks remarkably like me. It is a lost work by -- Jacopo di Cosimo.
Kiki: He was renaissance master in the mannerist school.
Tracy: Thank you, Kiki. My father was traveling under the alias J.L. Holt.
Monica: [Clears throat] Excuse me. Jimmy Lee?
Tracy: Not the point.
Monica: Well, I-I'm really surprised to hear that name. I mean, you never told me that part.
Tracy: [Sighs] Edward, aka J.L. Holt, left this painting at a monastery in Turkey. A few months ago, the monks tried to sell at auction, but because they weren't the legal owners the auction fell through. In the meantime, this painting had spotted by my ex, Ned's father, Larry Ashton, who concocted an elaborate con to trick me into giving up the painting, which I would have done were it not for Ned.
Lucy: Maxie's not coming back?
Nathan: No, she was covering the associate editor's maternity leave, but the woman is not coming back to work. The magazine offered to extend her contract until they can find a permanent replacement.
Dante: Well, how long is that gonna take?
Nathan: They don't know. It doesn't sound like she's coming back to Port Charles any time soon.
Lucy: She's not coming back any time soon? How dare she? That is so irresponsible. She promised me that this year she was gonna help me totally outdo the costumes, and... oh -- which is secondary to the way you must be feeling. I'm so sorry.
Dante: It's no big deal. You're gonna work it out, okay? It's just temporary.
Nathan: I don't know, man. I mean, she wasn't exactly calling to discuss her decision with me. She'd already said yes without even talking to me. We're supposed to be in this together, right? [Sighs] I -- [Sighs] How can I blame her? You know, she likes the work, and she gets to be near Georgie.
Lucy: Well, right. Most mothers would jump at that chance.
Nathan: What if she's -- if she decides to stay in Portland for good?
Dante: Then, you'll figure it out. People manage long-distance relationships all the time.
Lucy: Yeah. Yeah, Kevin and I, we managed it while we were married. I mean, he was in Seattle for months at a time. [Chuckles]
Nathan: You guys' marriage was okay?
Lucy: Well... [Sighs]
Diane: Well, I see we're the only ones who bothered to be on time. Good -- gives me a chance to try to get through to you.
Carly: Don't bet on it.
Diane: Of all people, Carly, you understand how much Sonny needs his legitimate business assets.
Carly: And of all people, you know better than anyone that the documents where Sonny signed all over to me, they are airtight.
Diane: Because he trusts you implicitly.
Carly: Well, okay, I trusted Sonny until he had Josslyn's father arrested. And when that didn't work, he had Jax deported.
Diane: Okay, I'm not defending Sonny's actions.
Diane: But, of all people, Jasper Jacks is least in need of help. I-I'm sure he's got a team of lawyers even now, as we speak, negotiating with the government. I give it a year, maybe two, before he's allowed back in the country.
Carly: Okay. So, when Jax is allowed back in the United States, I will give everything back to Sonny.
Diane: And in the meantime?
Carly: In the meantime, Sonny can live, I don't know, on the island. He can live in Mexico, Costa Rica. He has tens of millions of dollars in mob money. He will be just fine.
Diane: Without his children? Without you?
Carly: Oh, Sonny's not gonna miss me.
Diane: If we were in court right now, I'd accuse you of perjury, and I'd be right 'cause you're lying, and you know you're lying. Sonny is gonna miss you, Carly. He's going to miss you like a drowning man misses oxygen!
Diane: Sonny is a powerful man. He's intelligent. He's ruthless. He's also deeply, deeply flawed. He's always his own worst enemy. And you are the only person who has ever been able to save him from himself. He's had a good, long run in Port Charles. For over 20 years, he has controlled all the crime activity. How has he managed to do that? Hm? One person -- you. You!
Diane: Every time Sonny falls apart, you are the only one who can put him back together again. You took him for better or worse, Carly. Now, yes, it's a very simple thing to dissolve a marriage, okay? But you are never gonna dissolve this relationship. So the best thing for both of you is just to compromise.
Diane: Go to neutral corners until one of you is in dire straits, which, knowing the two of you, will be next week.
Carly: [Chuckles] You're really right about that one.
Diane: Of course, I am! Good. Good. All right. So, we can just, um... forget about all this...
Diane: Before everything goes too far. Oh, good, good, you're here. 'Cause I think we may have, um -- [Chuckling] I think we have had a breakthrough.
Sonny: Oh, yeah? Fill me in.
Carly: Sonny, I... you took your wedding ring off.
Laura: Samira was working for Larry?
Dillon: Don't feel bad, Laura. We all fell for it, even my mom. She was ready to give Samira the painting even after the DNA test proved that Samira was not a Quartermaine.
Monica: Oh, Dr. Finn, about that DNA test --
Monica: Just let me finish. You made a judgment call. It was the right one. And on behalf of my entire family, thank you.
Finn: You're welcome.
Monica: Don't do it again.
Laura: Tracy, uh, if I may?
Tracy: By all means.
Laura: Um, Ned, first of all, thank you so much for figuring out that scam so your mother didn't have to give up her painting, but, Tracy... [Breathes deeply] I want to compliment you for being willing to sacrifice something that meant so much to you to help another woman in need.
Tracy: You didn't think I had it in me.
Laura: Actually, I did. I just thought it's a matter of time before you figured that out.
Tracy: Some of you do not know that Laura was kind enough to come with me to Turkey and help me claim the painting. She was with me when the abbot gave me the letter from my father. [Inhales deeply] In it... my f-father told me that he loved me. That may sound simple. But when it came to my father and me, it was anything but. That letter set me free.
Lucy: Do not take what happened to "Doc" and me to heart. You know, we are just one couple, and I'm sure there are lots and lots of couples that do that whole long-distance thing. I mean, I don't know any. I can't -- I can't think of any right offhand, but -- well, anyway, the point is the whole break-up thing was my fault. Actually, there was a lot of lying and cheating and infidelity and... oh, boy, I am not making you feel better at all, am I?
Nathan: No, Lucy, not so much.
Lucy: Okay, then, I'm gonna take my little self to the ballroom and extract my foot from my mouth. Ta. [Sighs]
Nathan: [Clears throat]
Dante: Look, dude, you and Maxie are nothing like them, okay? You feel any different about Maxie that you guys have been apart this whole time?
Nathan: Of course not.
Dante: Then, you have to think that she feels the exact same way.
Nathan: Yeah. Well, I don't know, man. She was -- she was pretty quick to agree to stay.
Dante: Well, sure, it's a great job opportunity, like you said. But she probably feels that your marriage can handle it. Dude, anyone who's seen you two together knows you guys are solid, okay?
Nathan: Yeah. Solid. [Breathes deeply]
Sonny: I'm sorry. I mean, was there a reason why I couldn't take off my ring?
Carly: No. No. No reason at all. [Sniffles] We should get this started, and we should let our lawyers do all the talking. [Sniffles] Great, here's mine, now. [Sniffles]
[Dramatic tones play as Martina walks in]
Tracy: I have spent my adult life in and out of Port Charles, in and out of your lives. [Chuckles] More than once, I have left in disgrace. But I always came back. I wanted a place here. So, I-I fought and I maneuvered and I lied and I schemed. But the thing I was chasing was the love that was expressed in that letter. [Crying] Oh, my God. I love you all. [Breathes deeply]
[Dramatic music plays]
Tracy: I love everyone in this room and the people that I hold in my heart. But... [Sniffles] [Breathes deeply] It's time for me... to step out of my father's shadow. [Sighs] I need to make a life for myself. And I... I can't do that here. Which... brings me to my announcement. Oh, God. [Sobs] I'm leaving.
[Dramatic music continues]
On the next "General Hospital" --
Ned (to Tracy): I don't believe this.
Tracy: I'm gonna make a new life for myself somewhere.
Nathan (to Amy): So... so I got to ask myself if there's even any room for me in Maxie's life anymore.
Diane (to Carly): What part of any of this surprises you?
Sonny (to Martina): What the hell kind of a game are you playing?
