[Instrumental music plays]
Julian: If it's GH you want, it's... [Sighs] GH you'll get. I'll have to grease some palms, get some allies on the board, get that sale approved -- provided you lay off my family.
Olivia Jerome: We'll see. [Chuckles]
Curtis: Hold up. The music stopped.
Julian: No more threats. No more bombs under my car. We're done. I'm tired of living in fear of my own sister.
Curtis: Did he say "sister"?
[Camera shutter clicks]
Curtis: What did you see?
Jason: A blonde woman. Could be Ava.
[Instrumental music resumes]
Olivia Jerome: You have no reason to fear me, Julian... as long as you get me General Hospital.
Felix: Elizabeth? I didn't expect to see you today.
Elizabeth: And I didn't expect to be seen, but you know how short-staffed we are.
Elizabeth: And Epiphany couldn't find anyone to cover for me, so...
Felix: You, uh, really okay?
Elizabeth: Yeah, I'm -- I'm fine. It was terrifying when I figured out that Seth baker is the one who killed Tom, but he didn't hurt me. And Franco was able to come to my rescue even though he had to sneak out of here to do it.
Felix: Yeah, I heard -- pretty brave of him. Everyone around here was surprised.
Elizabeth: Hm, I wasn't. I guess people around here just don't know him.
Felix: So, you and he...
Elizabeth: Yes. Yes, we are together. He's a good guy if you just give him a chance.
Felix: [Sighs] I guess you bring out the best in him.
Elizabeth: I guess it's mutual.
Elizabeth: I need to get changed.
Felix: I stand in awe. You can bet I wouldn't show up for work if some psycho's psycho brother almost killed me.
Elizabeth: Sure you would. 'Cause that's what we nurses do, isn't it?
Michael: [Sighs] A lot of people are gonna be hurt by this. I just -- I want to make sure of the numbers before we take this to the board.
Hayden: I promise you I don't want to cut any of the staff, either, but the other proposals just aren't enough to get us out of the red.
Michael: Yeah, it's a tough decision. But if it keeps the hospital open, then we have no other choice.
Hayden: I appreciate you looking at this objectively.
Michael: It's business. But more than that, it's survival. Implementing these cuts keeps the hospital doors open. And in turn, it can help people, right?
Hayden: Keep telling yourself that. Because this is gonna be so hard to do.
Amy: Hard to do what?
Nina: Oh, good. Maxie, great. Please tell me where we are in our Artemisia's summer line. I need to really know that. We need to confirm the pieces. Oh, gosh. I also know that couture is really gunning for that backless chiffon. Also, the May cover -- I know that your heart is set on Margo, because she's the "it girl," but honestly I think that Claire is the next big thing. We need to be ahead of the curve, you know... ...be fashion forward. Maxie? Maxie? Is there a problem?
Maxie: Yeah. You and your husband, you're keeping my best friend away from her daughter.
Alexis: So, Diane is busy prepping for Sonny's trial. She asked if I would step in and answer some preliminary questions for you regarding the custody hearing.
Lulu: She said that she might be sending an associate, but we didn't know that it would be you.
Alexis: All right, I'm gonna be very clear about this -- I'm only here as a consultant. I do not have my attorney's license. I am not currently a practicing attorney.
Dante: We understand. That's okay.
Lulu: And we will never forget the great representation you gave us during that awful custody battle with Maxie.
Dante: Yeah, it was a pretty tough time.
Lulu: But we got through it. And now we are more than prepared to fight Valentin.
Carly: Thank you. I'm so excited to get Morgan's foundation up and running. Thank you so much for setting it up.
Sonny: Well, you know what? Morgan... was a good kid with a big heart.
Sonny: He would have wanted to help people himself, so what I want to do is just make sure his generous spirit lives on.
Carly: Yeah. Well, as soon as Nelle comes back with those tax forms, we can get started.
[Bedroom door hinges creak]
Nelle: Where will this have the most impact? [Sighs]
Carly: I don't know how you feel about Michael joining the hospital board. I mean, on the one hand, I'm super proud of him, right, because he's stepping up. But on the other hand, he's already running ELQ. Now he's on the board at GH, which means so much more work and tons more stress for that kid.
Nelle: I found the forms.
Carly: Oh, great. Thank you.
Nelle: Yeah. So I'll just head back to your office and put these with the other papers.
Carly: [Sighs] Thank you. Thank you so much. You have made this situation so much easier.
Nelle: Well, you've all been so kind to me, you know? More than I ever expected. It's only fair I find a way to pay you back. Bye.
Carly: Bye. [Sighs]
Nina: Okay, it's obvious you've only heard Lulu's side of the story.
Maxie: I think that's the only side that matters. [Stammers] She's Charlotte's mom, and she's been kept from her Charlotte's entire life. Valentin is now trying to make that permanent.
Nina: Okay. I was at Wyndemere when Lulu first saw Charlotte.
Nina: Okay? Valentin was perfectly fine sharing custody. This is Lulu. She refused. She filed for sole custody. She's dragging us to the hearing. She's not thinking of Charlotte's feelings at all.
Maxie: Of course, she is. That's her daughter.
Nina: Well, she's already traumatized Charlotte. She went up to her, and she said, "Oh, I'm your real mommy."
Maxie: Nina, she is. It doesn't matter!
Nina: Charlotte was grieving over Claudette, the only mother she's ever known. But that didn't matter to Lulu. She didn't care. She only thought of herself. She just wants to stake a claim in her daughter. She sees her as a piece of property, l-like, not the sweet little girl that she actually is. She's only thinking about herself, and that's no way to raise a child.
Hayden: Amy, we were having a private conversation.
Amy: About what?
Michael: Uh, a-as o f an hour ago, I am -- I'm now on the hospital board.
Michael: Thank you.
Hayden: Yeah, it's great, isn't it? We were just going over some details, so if you'll excuse us.
Amy: Mm-hmm. Oh, wait. That means you were at the board meeting this morning.
Amy: [Sighs] I saw a bunch of the board members leaving that meeting, and none of them looked very happy. And now I'm running into you two talking about doing something hard.
Hayden: You know what? We were just discussing hospital business.
Amy: What business? Is the hospital closing -- for good this time?
Michael: No, w-we're trying to find a way to prevent.
Amy: So you must be talking about layoffs.
Hayden: We're looking at several options.
Amy: [Scoffs] I know what that means.
Curtis: [Sighs] Damn, the music is back on.
[Instrumental music plays]
Jason: Great, so much for hearing the rest of this conversation.
Olivia: As long as I get what I want, I don't really care whose blood has to spill.
Julian: Oh, yeah, sure, because the blood is on my hands even though you're the one calling the shots.
Olivia: I'm so happy we understand each other now. Now, I believe I ordered you to get me General Hospital. What are you waiting for? Go!
Julian: [Sighs] [Sighs]
Curtis: We should follow him.
Jason: No. I think we got all we're gonna get today. No sense risking Julian seeing us.
Curtis: [Sighs] All right, so, what now, hm? You want to talk about what we just heard? Because it sure sounds to me like the woman responsible for the bomb that killed Morgan Corinthos is Julian's sister.
Jason: Yeah, Ava Jerome.
Alexis: Okay, so filed for sole custody December 29th of last year. Is that correct?
Lulu: Yeah, that's right.
Alexis: So, initially Valentin responded, which means that he was going to appear, but then he didn't file an answering motion until, uh, January 30th. Do you know why?
Dante: Well, maybe he was waiting to see if Lulu would change her mind about going for sole custody.
Alexis: Is that a possibility?
Lulu: When I found out that Charlotte was my daughter, Valentin suggested shared custody, but I refused. A man like that has no place in a child's life. I've experienced his cruelty firsthand. He killed Nikolas. I don't want him anywhere near Charlotte.
Alexis: That's understandable.
Lulu: Unfortunately, Charlotte has had a difficult time warming up to me. Um...I've been too pushy. I've made some mistakes.
Dante: But you had the best of intentions. This is just a difficult time. And don't be so hard on yourself, okay?
Lulu: I guess the point is that I have had to accept that Charlotte loves Valentin. And right now, he's the only parent that she knows, so I went back to him. I said that I would agree to shared custody. He said that it was off the table.
Alexis: And did he have a reason for that?
Lulu: Me, my actions. Valentin made it very clear that he wanted to wait to tell Charlotte that I was her mother. But I saw her at Maxie's wedding, and she was upset. She was hiding in a closet crying. I couldn't help myself. I-I wanted to make her feel better. I wanted to make her feel less alone, and I told her that I'm her mother.
Alexis: And she didn't take it well.
Lulu: She ran away from me. Now my daughter wants nothing to do with me.
Maxie: It's possible that Lulu might have mishandled that situation, but --
Nina: Okay, listen. Valentin is Charlotte's father. He gives her security and stability. But more important than that, Charlotte adores him. She loves him. And he's fighting to be with his daughter, because honestly, Maxie, it's what Charlotte wants. And it's what's best for her.
Maxie: What 's best for Charlotte is that her parents compromise. Is that really so hard? I mean, Spinelli and I co-parent, and we're on opposite coasts.
Nina: Valentin wanted to compromise. Lulu refused. And now it's too late. After what happened at your wedding, Charlotte wants nothing to do with Lulu anymore. So how about that? Listen [Sighs] My husband is fighting for his rights as a father, and I back him completely.
Maxie: Lulu's my best friend. I back her completely.
Nina: Wow. Okay, well, we're in an awkward situation, aren't we? [Sighs] Um, let's just agree to disagree on this. All right? We obviously, um, see things differently. And I think it's best that we just don't talk about anything regarding Charlotte.
Maxie: Yeah, I don't, uh -- I don't know if that's possible.
Nina: No, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. [Sighs] You're my sister-in-law. Not only that -- we work together. Come on. Maxie, you taught me everything I know about fashion. And you know the most important thing you taught me is, "Fashion never sleeps." So... let's not let this disagreement ruin anything that has to do with Crimson. Let's just agree that we're on different sides, and we won't discuss anything Charlotte-related at work, okay?
Maxie: Okay. I can try to do that.
Nina: Okay, good. All right, so, um, Artemisia, their summer line -- what's -- what's happening with that?
[Cell phone ringing]
Maxie: Uh, you -- you were right. Couture is sniffing that backless chiffon.
Nina: Wait a second. Mrs. Evans, hello. Is everything okay? Oh, okay, you're sister's sick. Okay. No, no, no, don't worry about it. Go -- go be with your family. I-I understand. No, no, that's fine. That's fine. Go ahead and do that. Okay. Bye-bye.
Maxie: Is everything okay?
Nina: Um, yeah. That's Charlotte's nanny. She has a family emergency. She's bringing Charlotte here.
Elizabeth: Amy. Is everything okay?
Amy: No, everything is very much not okay.
Elizabeth: What happened?
Amy: Ask your sister -- Hayden.
Michael: [Sighs] Amy is just a preview of what it's gonna be like around here if the board decides to go this route.
Hayden: But we're in agreement.
Michael: Yeah. I hate it, but it's the only way to keep GH open.
Hayden: Well, better a pared-down hospital than no hospital at all.
Jason: Good driving. I'm pretty sure we got out of there without anybody from that shop seeing us outside. [Sighs] But I got to tell you -- something doesn't add up. I think that woman could have certainly been Ava, and, as far as I know, Julian only has one sister.
Curtis: Well, then, that's it. Game over.
Jason: No. No, it's not. Why would Ava have to meet Julian so secretively? And what does that Chinese symbol for "Reincarnation" have to do with either of them?
Curtis: So you're thinking that probably wasn't Ava in that room with, uh, Julian.
Jason: I can't say for sure. I didn't see her face. She never spoke when the music was off.
Curtis: Hm. I don't know. Okay, well, he said "sister." We know his sister is blonde. Ava is blonde. She was brought up on murder charges, but she got off on a technicality. Far as I'm concerned, it's clear cut, man. She's the one.
Jason: Mm, like I said, something doesn't add up.
Curtis: So, do we continue investigating, or do we go ahead and tell Sonny what we found?
Sonny: Was it still snowing when you came over?
Carly: No, but you do need to get Louie to, um, shovel some snow off the roof. It's really piling up.
Sonny: Yeah, I wouldn't know.
Carly: [Sighs] I know.
Sonny: Well, yeah.
Carly: I'm so sorry you're stuck inside.
Sonny: Well, look, no matter how cold it is, there's a lot of worse things in life.
Carly: Yeah. Well, hopefully you'll be free by the time spring rolls around. [Laughs]
Sonny: Fingers crossed.
Carly: You know, uh, even if I didn't need those tax forms, I still would've stopped by to see you.
Sonny: Well, you know, it would've been better to wake up to your beautiful face.
Carly: Hmm. I'm sorry.
Carly: I want to be here every day, but Josslyn's just not ready yet.
Sonny: No, I don't want to pressure her. I mean, I know -- I don't want to, you know, do anything she can't handle.
Carly: Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for understanding. [Sighs] So, how are you really?
Sonny: Uh...I'm fine. Yeah? As soon as Jason finds out who's calling the shots with Julian and this is all over, I'll really be fine.
Carly: Well, that will be great. 'Cause we've been through a lot these past few months, and it would be really nice to have something to celebrate.
Sonny: Well, I got -- I got, you know, a few ideas of, like, what we can do while we're waiting.
Carly: Really? [Laughing]
Sonny: I mean, just a few.
Alexis: Well, Lulu, I am sorry that Charlotte had an averse reaction to hearing that you were her mother. I'm sure that that was very hurtful.
Lulu: Now Valentin won't let me see her at all. He's going to tell the courts that Charlotte is scared of me.
Alexis: But the judge is gonna take into consideration the entire circumstance of the conception and her birth. For starters, a surrogate carried the embryo without your permission. And once you found out about it, you did everything you could to form a bond with her, which shows devotion as a mother and that you care about your daughter.
Lulu: Assuming that Dante and I are able to paint ourselves in the best light possible...
Lulu: ...Will it work? Do you think we have any chance of getting full custody of my daughter?
Maxie: Hey, Charlotte. Did you decide to come work with Nina today?
Nina: Yeah, she sure did. And wait until you see all the accessories that came in today for a photo shoot.
Charlotte: Is it a box full of costumes like last time?
Nina: Actually, it's even better. Accessories are shoes and purses and jewelry.
Nina: And you know what? You get to help me pick out all the accessories that we're gonna put in the magazine. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Charlotte: Yes. [Laughs]
Elizabeth: Oh, sorry.
Hayden: Elizabeth. Elizabeth, hey, hey.
Hayden: I heard what happened to you with Tom Baker's brother. I can't even imagine. How are you?
Elizabeth: I'd feel a lot better if I knew my job was safe. I know the hospital needs to save money. So, are you cutting staff?
Hayden: It's not official, yeah.
Elizabeth: But that's the plan -- never mind the people in the jobs, how hard they work? All that matters are numbers in a balance sheet? Is that right? I don't know how you're gonna sleep at night. But j-just tell me -- are you gonna fire me, too, your own sister?
Sonny: You want to go upstairs?
Carly: Mm. I thought you'd never ask.
Jason: Hey, Sonny. Uh, hi. Sorry. [Clears throat]
Carly: Did you finish your surveillance?
Sonny: What did you find out? Any information on the woman who's pulling Julian's strings?
Hayden: I am just doing my job. Your job is to get the hospital out of debt by whatever means you think of.
Elizabeth: And, you know, the very first day you started here, you threatened to fire me? [Scoffs] I just never thought you'd actually do it.
Hayden: That was months ago. And things are completely different between us now. At least, I thought they were.
Elizabeth: Yeah, so did I. I thought maybe your near-brush with death would've taught you a little compassion.
Hayden: That is being completely unfair. My job is to recommend ways for the board to keep GH running. They ultimately decide what to do.
Elizabeth: And your recommendation is what, to fire the nurses, the orderlies, the rest of the staff, who else?
Amy: Sure was -- she said as much to me not 20 minutes ago.
Hayden: [Scoffs] Guys, come on. D-do you really think that I want to cut jobs...
Hayden: ...Even one job? No, I don't. But it might be the only way that we can save the hospital as a whole.
Felix: What kind of hospital will it be if you cut the nursing staff?
Hayden: You know what? Let me put this in medical terms. Someone has gangrene in their leg. If you amputate, they lose a leg, which is awful, and no one wants to do that, but if don't amputate, they die.
Felix: We're talking about numbers on a balance sheet, not cutting off limbs.
Hayden: Yeah, well, if we keep losing money, the hospital's gonna have to close. One way to save money is to reduce staff.
Felix: We are the soul of this place. We make general hospital what it is.
Hayden: I know that. Everyone was great to me when I was a patient here. I don't want to change the hospital, either. But if we don't figure out a way to solve this budget crisis, then the hospital is gonna close. There will be no hospital here at all. A building that once saved lives will be nothing but an empty shell waiting to be turned into condos. Some tough decisions are gonna have to be made.
Nina: That's how we pick all the pictures that we want to put in the magazine. Which one here do you like the best?
Maxie: I got it. Crimson. Hi, Carolyn, how are -- [Scoffs] Okay. Um, would you like -- okay, sure, just hold on one second. Um, it's the new advertiser from the car company.
Maxie: She sounds...mad.
Nina: Yeah. I'll take it in my office. Hey, Carolyn. This is Nina Reeves. Um...no.
Maxie: Charlotte, I like your outfit.
Nina: Okay, I get it. We'll...
Charlotte: Nina picked it out for me.
Nina: ...Reschedule a time. We'll talk tomorrow. No, your account is very, very important to us. I've said that. All right, fine. No, I understand. I'll be there. [Puts down phone]
Maxie: What's going on?
Nina: She said that's she's gonna pull all her ads immediately if I don't meet with her right now.
Maxie: Well, go.
Nina: But Charlotte.
Maxie: Are you kidding? Charlotte and I can finish picking out pictures for the layout.
Nina: You sure?
Maxie: Oh, come on, Nina. I would be happy to watch her.
Michael: Hey, Nelle.
Nelle: Hey, Michael. I was just at the bar getting a cup of coffee. Um, do you want to join me?
Michael: You know what? I might not be the best company right now.
Nelle: Do you want to talk about it? Here, tell me -- tell me what's going on.
Michael: Um... [Sighs] Well... [Chuckles] I've -- I've been trying to make budget cuts. I was finding ways to make budget cuts at General Hospital.
Nelle: Looks like it's not going too well.
Michael: [Sighs] No, people are gonna lose their jobs. And even that might be too little too late. And I thought by taking a seat on the board I'd be able to help, but the hospital is so far in the red that it might be too late to save it.
Nelle: Well... why do you think it's up to you?
Alexis: All right, look, what you need to do is make Valentin play defense. It's his marriage that's the issue, not yours.
Lulu: How? He just found another mother for Charlotte.
Alexis: Exactly -- Nina, of all people. What'd he -- what'd he do, meet her a few months ago, and now he's married to her? I mean, that could backfire on him. The judge is gonna look at that and think that he's possibly trying to manipulate the court.
Lulu: That is exactly what Valentin is doing. He only married Nina for show.
Dante: You think our case is viable?
Alexis: I do, but that doesn't mean that you're off the hook. So, from now till the trial, you don't give Valentin any ammunition. No more ambush visits with Charlotte. I mean, if you can work it out with him, that's fine. But if not, you don't see her unless you have Valentin's express permission.
Alexis: Okay, I know that's gonna be hard for you. But you need to look like the more reasonable parent, that you have Charlotte's best interest at heart.
Lulu: Thank you.
Alexis: You good?
Lulu: Yes. Thank you for your advice.
Alexis: Yeah. I have another appointment, so I have to go. Um -- oh, here. Uh, I'll let Diane know what we talked about and where we stand, and I will, uh -- one of us will get back in touch with you, all right? Take care.
Lulu: Thank you so much, Alexis.
Alexis: You bet.
Dante: Thank you, Alexis. Thank you. [Sighs] Oh, come here. Come here. It's okay.
Carly: You and Curtis find something that will clear Sonny?
Jason: Uh, we've got a few new leads but nothing concrete.
Carly: Okay, I get that you guys want to talk alone, so I'm gonna go. But before I leave -- when you find out who killed my son, when you're 100% sure, you're gonna tell me, right? You promise you're gonna tell me?
Jason: I'll tell you. I promise.
Carly: Thank you. Hey, I'll see you.
Sonny: Yeah. You can count on it. What's going on? The surveillance equipment Brick gave you didn't work?
Jason: It worked, just not as well as we had hoped. The audio was garbled, and, uh, we couldn't get a plain view of sight.
Sonny: Well, you found something, or you wouldn't be here. Jason, if you and Curtis found who's responsible for killing my son, you need to tell me right now.
Alexis: I'm waiting for my coat.
Julian: I see.
Alexis: I didn't expect to see you here.
Julian: Yeah, yeah, I'm just, uh, meeting someone. Yeah, you, uh, you look great, by the way.
Alexis: Thank you.
Alexis: You look tired. Everything all right?
Julian: Uh, I'm fine. Uh, I guess it's just because I came from a trying meeting.
Alexis: I'm going to a meeting -- I'm sure no less trying than yours. But at least they have doughnuts where I'm going.
Alexis: Oh. One of those meetings.
Julian: Well, at the risk of dampening your enthusiasm, I'm glad to hear it.
Alexis: What, did you think I wouldn't go just to spite you?
Julian: Oh, I don't know. You were, uh, kind of reluctant to go in the first place, weren't you?
Alexis: I don't like doing things in groups.
Alexis: I also don't... didn't like what it would mean. Hm. But I'm an alcoholic whether I go to the meeting or not. That's what my sponsor told me.
Julian: How exactly do you two know each other?
Alexis: If you must know, I met her in AA. She is my sponsor.
Julian: How dare you?
Olivia Jerome: Oh, don't be so melodramatic. I am being a very good sponsor. I am helping Alexis.
Julian: You're not an alcoholic. You don't know the first thing about AA or helping somebody that's an alcoholic.
Olivia: And don't forget I'm always here for you. Just a phone call away.
[Back to present]
Julian: Your sponsor -- uh, Liv, right?
Alexis: Mm-hmm, Liv. She's actually helping me stay on track, you know, without the insipid catchphrases and the new age stuff. I've really come to appreciate her help.
Jason: Like I said, we couldn't get a clear view. But we were able to watch a bit of Julian's meeting, tried to listen in to his conversation.
Sonny: It's a woman, right?
Jason: It's a woman, but...
Sonny: Well --
Jason: ...I couldn't see. I was able to see through the slats. Julian was blocking my view. I couldn't see her face.
Sonny: Well, this woman has managed to stay under the radar for a long time. The five families don't even know who she is. What about the fancy mike? Did you get anything from the...
Jason: We got some.
Sonny: Brick said it was top-of-the-line, Jason.
Jason: Right, but these people were smart. They were careful. They played music when they spoke. So the laser wasn't able to differentiate between the music and the conversation. Everything we heard was muffled.
Sonny: Did Julian say the woman's name at least?
Jason: He didn't.
Sonny: You didn't find anything that you can identify this woman?
Jason: [Sighs] You know [Chuckles] Not yet, but we're getting close.
Sonny: How close is "close"?
Jason: I don't know, but when I'm gonna let you know when I do.
Sonny: Okay, wait, wait, wait, 'cause I get a feeling that you're -- you're leaving something out.
Michael: I've been so fortunate my whole life. And I-I just want to give back.
Nelle: That's sweet. I mean, I would love to help the less fortunate. I just don't have the means. I know I have more than a lot of people, but I don't have any disposable income.
Michael: Well, I mean, you might not be able to save a hospital, but that doesn't mean you can't help anybody. I mean, you already have. You were a -- you were a teacher's aide, right?
Michael: So you nurtured all the kids in your class.
Nelle: I guess I never thought of it that way.
Michael: Yeah, well, you should. You don't need a lot of money to help somebody. And you're -- you're one of the most decent people I know.
Carly: Hey. There you are. Michael, I didn't know you were here.
Michael: Hey. Yeah.
Nelle: Uh, sorry, I was just grabbing a cup of coffee real quick.
Carly: That's okay. I'm sorry to interrupt you. Um, Olivia told me that these arrived for you yesterday, and they were back in the back room.
Nelle: Yes. I-I forgot. I'm sorry. I'll, um, I'll take these home tonight.
Carly: That's okay. That's okay. I just wanted to make sure you got them, that you were able to enjoy them. They're absolutely beautiful.
Julian: [Sighs] Oh, well, if you'll, uh, excuse me, it seems like the person I'm meeting is already here.
Alexis: Don't let me keep you.
Julian: Yeah, I won't. Um, listen, uh, I really did mean what I said. You look great. And I do hope that your meeting is helpful.
Mr. Gray: Julian, hello.
Julian: [Sighs] I don't have time for pleasantries. So where are we with the, uh, sale of the hospital that was supposed to go through weeks ago?
Mr. Gray: Well, I'm afraid the gears ground to a halt after your accident.
Julian: We had a closing date, so I don't see...
Mr. Gray: The hospital asked for an extension.
Julian: And you agreed?
Mr. Gray: I had no choice but to go along. You were laid up. I couldn't consult with you. And as you know... I don't have direct access to the money.
Julian: Mm-hmm, well, I'm back at full strength now, so we don't need to waste any more time. Now, look, I need that hospital -- sooner rather than later.
Hayden: [Sighs] Maybe I missed something. What about...
Hayden: [Sighs] Come on. Come on. What can I cut that won't cost people their jobs?
Amy: This is terrible. I can't lose my job.
Elizabeth: No one here can afford to lose their job.
Felix: We're short-staffed already. Reducing the number of nurses is definitely gonna impact patient care.
Elizabeth: And that's putting patients' lives at risk. Are we really gonna let the administration get rid of us one by one?
Felix: No, no, no, no, there's plenty we can do. Uh, first and foremost, we're calling our union rep. And then, the real work begins.
Amy: What's that?
Felix: We're gonna fight back.
Maxie: It's no problem for me to watch Charlotte. We can have fun together, right?
Maxie: Okay. And it's not gonna take you long to talk them off the ledge.
Nina: [Sighs] Their office is, like, five minutes away. It should take me -- I don't know -- an hour, two hours tops, okay? I'll leave you two to hold down the fort. And, um, hey, if you need anything, you just have Maxie call me, okay?
Nina: Okay. I mean, seriously, if you need anything --
Maxie: Okay. Oh, my God, we're gonna be fine. Bye.
Nina: Thank you.
Dante: I got to go to work. [Sighs]
Lulu: Okay, well, Rocco and I will see you later.
Dante: Lu, I know it's gonna be hard for you to wait and see Charlotte, but I'm telling you, in the end, it is all gonna be worth it. I love you.
Lulu: I love you.
[Cell phone rings]
Lulu: Maxie? Lulu, you have to come to Crimson right now. It's urgent.
Julian: Well, my partner is willing to do whatever it takes to make this deal go through.
Mr. Gray: I can't guarantee there will be a sale.
Julian: What are you talking about? The hospital's on its last legs.
Mr. Gray: [Sighs] The board is implementing some cost-cutting measures. They may be able to shore up the finances.
Julian: Well, so, then, offer them more money. My partner is good for it. Now, listen to me. You are my inside guy. Now, I want results, okay? I don't care what you have to do, but you make sure that this deal goes through.
Mr. Gray: Understood. You know, when this deal goes through, you're not gonna be very popular.
Julian: That's the least of my problems. [Sighs]
[Cell phone rings]
[Instrumental music plays]
Olivia: I hope you have good news for me, little brother.
Julian: I, uh, spoke to my guy, motivated him to do better. He's, uh, working on it.
Olivia: My patience is wearing thin.
Julian: Look, this deal is gonna go through. I'm gonna make sure you get what you want.
Carly: So, is it your birthday or something? [Chuckles]
Nelle: Nope, no, but, uh, don't worry. I'll get these out of your way.
Carly: They're not in my way. I just wanted to make sure you were able to enjoy them.
Nelle: Thank you.
Carly: You're welcome.
Nelle: Um, but I should really go refresh this water. So I will see you both later.
Carly: Okay. You got that?
Nelle: Yes, thank you. Bye, Michael.
Michael: Okay. Bye, Nelle.
Carly: [Sighs] Okay, I didn't know you were here, and I can tell by how jumpy Nelle is that those flowers are from the mystery guy.
Michael: Yeah, apparently.
Carly: I'm sorry.
Michael: Yeah, it's fine. Well, hey, the, uh, the mysterious guy isn't so mysterious anymore.
Carly: What do you mean?
Michael: Well, uh, Joss saw the flowers when we were here yesterday. She snuck a peek at the card before I could stop her.
Carly: What do you mean before you could stop her? Josslyn should not have done that, and you should have stopped her. But since she had a peek, what'd it say?
Michael: [Laughs] Not much. So, her, uh, privacy wasn't completely invaded.
Carly: Well, come on. You must've seen something. What'd it say?
Michael: It said -- her mystery boyfriend was, uh, thinking of her, and he signed it with the initial "S."
Sonny: Whatever you got, I'm ready to hear it.
Jason: We don't have much. So far, all we found is where Julian holds these meetings with this woman. Everything else is... it's not for certain, okay? But you'll be the first to know when it is.
Sonny: I will?
Jason: Yeah. Of course, you will. I'm gonna get to the truth of this, no matter what it is. I promise you that.
Sonny: All right. Thanks for the update.
Jason: Yeah, sure. Look, I got to get out of here. Julian thinks I've dropped this. I best not be seen leaving your house.
Sonny: All right. [Sighs] Brick. It's Sonny. Listen, you know the surveillance equipment that you gave Jason? It has a remote feed, right? Everything's recorded? Great. Bring it over here. I want to hear it.
On the next "General Hospital" --
Sam (to doctor): Do you think there could be something wrong with our children?
Maxie (to Lulu): This is the perfect opportunity for you to bond with your daughter.
Kevin (to Laura): You were having a nightmare.
Griffin (to Anna): It's time to listen to me.
Jordan (to Dante): ?? is the person who planted the bomb.
Curtis (to Ava): Exactly the person who I wanted to see.
Sonny: Blonde hair woman?
Brick: Do you recognize her?
