Nina: Okay, let's cut to the chase. I don't want to waste your time. I don't want to waste mine. I know that you jumped on the "Valentin is evil" bandwagon. Good for you. Good for you, but... thanks to Lulu Falconeri, everyone in town thinks my husband's a monster. And that he has some sinister agenda. Let me tell you something. Nothing could be further from the truth. We want to live our lives in peace. Do you understand?

Anna: Yeah. First of all, can I just say that whatever problems I have with Valentin, I have no ill will towards you.

Nina: Okay, but then, why did you decide to barge in on us while we were having dinner? Why did you decide to do that? Why are you harassing my husband? Why are you obsessed with my husband?!

Anna: I'm not obsessed with him! Valentin is obsessed with me.

Valentin: I'm not in the mood for a screaming match, so if you're going to start making threats about taking away my daughter, I'd really rather we communicate through our lawyers.

Lulu: Maybe the lawyers are the problem.

Valentin: Okay, that's interesting. You're the one who filed for sole custody.

Lulu: Maybe there's a better way than going to court. Maybe we can hash this out just you and me.

Nelle: This is harder than I thought. I just hope that when the time comes for me to finish the job, I have the strength to do it. For you.

Michael: Nelle? [Sighs] Hey, what are you doing out here?

Griffin: Mr. Jerome, I hope you're not here to see me. We don't have a follow-up scheduled, and I don't have any free time tonight.

Julian: At ease, Father. You're off the hook. I'm just here for my physical therapy session. The staff was kind enough to fit me in during the last slot of the day. You might be happy to know, a few more sessions, and I'll be able to walk without a cane.

Griffin: And hopefully right out of our lives.

Julian: [Sighs]

Sam: Julian just arrived for his physical therapy appointment. If we're going to do this, we've got to do it now.

Jason: [Sighs] It all depends on Sonny. Hopefully, whatever his plan is to get here won't get him in trouble with the cops.

Carly: Thank you so much for helping me sort through these old photos. We can add these to the photos I've already pulled from the albums in Sonny's...

Bobbie: This is my pleasure. And Josslyn's going to have the best family-tree album in her class.

Carly: We are the most complicated.

Bobbie: [Laughs]

Carly: Why is this door open? It's so weird. Um, Sonny? What the hell happened?

Nelle: Are you jogging?

Michael: Jogging? No. I'm running... from Tracy.

Nelle: Oh.

Michael: That woman's been on the warpath every since I terminated that household products deal I told you about.

Nelle: Yeah.

Michael: That was an artful dodge, by the way, but I still noticed you changed the subject.

Nelle: You did, huh? [Clicks tongue] You're too perceptive for your own good.

Michael: Well, uh, sitting alone in a park on a freezing night? It's pretty obvious you've got something on your mind.

Nelle: Today's the anniversary of my father's death.

Michael: I'm sorry. I, uh, I lost a father, too. AJ. A-a date can bring up a lot of memories.

Nelle: Yeah. Yeah, I didn't have the happiest of childhoods. I'm sure the whole "my parents sold my kidney" thing kind of clued you into that. So, remembering my dad is... complicated. But one of the nice memories I have of us is us just sitting on the grass, looking up at the stars.

Michael: Well, it must be a lot warmer down in Atlanta.

Nelle: Do you see that? That's Orion. Um, you can't see it in the summer, but it was my dad's favorite, nonetheless. I used to think that as I could see it, we were connected. Because that meant he must be able to see it, too.

Michael: Hmm. That's a nice way to think about it.

Nelle: [Exhales]

Michael: So, Orion was the hunter, right?

Nelle: Pretty good, city boy.

Michael: What can I say? I love the classics.

Nelle: [Chuckles]

Michael: No, my, uh -- my old man, he used to read this Greek mythology book to me. It's all about good and evil.

Nelle: It's kind of hardcore for a bedtime story.

Michael: Actually, it was pretty comforting as a kid. It was a lot more black and white than my real world.

Nelle: Oh.

Michael: So, Orion is the guy who nearly wiped out all the animals in the world to quench his bloodlust.

Nelle: Mm.

Michael: Ah, your dad probably didn't know that.

Nelle: You know what? I should really get back inside.

Michael: I'm sorry. I, um -- I'm sorry. I did it again, didn't I?

Nelle: Did what?

Michael: I crossed that -- that line, I guess. Look, I'm sorry. I talked to my mom. She, uh -- she told me that you were seeing somebody else.

Carly: What the hell is going on?

Sonny: It's okay, Carly.

Officer: I'm transporting Mr. Corinthos.

Carly: Transporting him where?

Sonny: It's okay. Carly.

Carly: Don't you say another word, okay? I'm gonna call Diane. I'm gonna have her meet you at the station. You wait for --

Sonny: I'm not going to the station.

Carly: I don't understand.

Sonny: Diane already made the arrangements for the cops to take me to GH..

Carly: What?!

Bobbie: Is everything okay?

Sonny: Yeah. You know that spinal cord injury I had last year? It's just -- it's painful.

Carly: Oh, my God. How bad is it?

Sonny: No. It's not that bad. Listen, Dr. Munro, he just wants to check --

Officer: Come on. Let's go.

Sonny: Okay.

Carly: Well, I'm coming with you.

Sonny: No. It's okay.

Carly: No, no, no. This could be serious, and you need me --

Sonny: Listen, I'll tell you about it later, okay? Trust me.

Carly: Okay. [Sighs]

Bobbie: Honey, we can finish Josslyn's project later anytime, if you want to follow him.

Carly: No. No, I think something else is going on. [Sighs]

Sam: Julian!

Julian: Hey, Sam. Everything okay with the baby?

Sam: Come on. You know damn well this isn't about the baby. My husband is in a hospital room, barely able to sit up, because of you.

Julian: Sam --

Sam: Don't! Save your lies, please. I just want the truth. What have you done and why?

Bobbie: Oh, look. Oh, this is a beautiful one of your grandmother.

Carly: Yeah.

Bobbie: You take after her so much.

Carly: Wow. [Sighs] I mean, Luke told me that I did. I just didn't see it until now. Okay, great. This is a keeper then.

Bobbie: You know, besides John himself, I don't have any photographs of your father's family.

Carly: That's okay. The tree is gonna be filled to the brim once I add Virginia and her husband.

Bobbie: The Bensons?

Carly: Yeah. I mean... Virginia was a good mom, you know? And I was the pain. She did the best she could for me. I was the one that resented living in a rental, on a secretary's salary. I just wanted bigger and better things. I look back now. That was so unfair to her.

Bobbie: You were a teenager, Carly. Dreaming of bigger and better things is what teenagers do.

Carly: Not many change their name, drive up the coast to find their biological mom and ruin her life, you know?

Bobbie: That's true. In that respect, you are definitely an original.

Carly: [Chuckles] Yeah. I could leave out Frank Benson. I mean, I could, you know? He left Virginia and me when I was 3, but he was Virginia's husband, and my adoptive father, and technically he should be part of the family tree. Is this making you feel uncomfortable?

Bobbie: No. No. It's really not, but... I don't know. There are just times when I can't help wondering how it might have been if I had at least tried to raise you on my own.

Carly: Oh, come on. You weren't -- you weren't capable of raising a kid back then. And you did the best you could for me at the time, right?

Bobbie: I did. I'm really grateful that you can see that now.

Carly: Yeah. I wasn't that understanding back then, huh?

Bobbie: Well, you were angry, you know? I should've recognized you by your Spencer temper.

Carly: Yeah. We sure have come a long way since then, huh?

Bobbie: Yeah.

Carly: You know, I wouldn't change anything, because I love the relationship that we have today.

Bobbie: Me neither. I love you, baby.

Carly: I love you, too. Okay.

Bobbie: [Laughs]

Carly: Okay, okay.

Bobbie: Oh, my gosh. It's really getting late. I -- you know what? I can go swing by the copy place, drop these off before it closes.

Carly: No, no. You don't have to do that. Nelle's coming by, she's gonna pick everything up, and she's gonna do it.

Bobbie: Oh. I see.

Carly: Go ahead. What? This is where you say something negative about Nelle, right? I still have no idea why you don't like her.

Bobbie: Because it takes a lot to win my trust, and... not much to lose it.

Nelle: Michael, you didn't do anything wrong.

Michael: You know, I-I must have misread the signals. W-we had such a great time at the Toys for Tots benefit and... it was presumptuous of me to assume that -- that you were single.

Nelle: I should've told you about him. I-I don't know why I didn't mention it before.

Michael: Uh, Mom told me that you -- you might have had your reasons, uh, that the, uh...

Nelle: What?

Michael: That the guy might be...

Nelle: Might be what?

Michael: You know what? It's none of my business. I'm -- I'm sorry. It's --

Nelle: No, no, no. You can say it.

Michael: That, uh... that he -- that he might be married.

Nelle: I never said that to Carly. Uh, uh, there were other reasons that I wasn't up for telling people about him.

Michael: Well, nothing, like, serious, I hope? If he's not -- not treating you right, you can tell me about it or tell my mom, if you don't want to tell me.

Nelle: Oh, no, no, no, no, no! No. It's not like he's abusive or anything. It's just, he's... oh. He's older than I am.

Michael: Okay.

Nelle: And it's too weird for me to call him my boyfriend, and I don't know, lover or partner just sounds way too serious. Um... he's the kind of guy that never wanted to be tied down. You know, which is -- which is fine with me, because, uh... we get to live our own lives, we don't owe each other anything and, uh... it's casual. More like an arrangement th-than a relationship. I-I know that it sounds weird, but it's all I want right now, and it, uh, it works for me.

Michael: No. That's all that matters, right?

Nelle: I should catch the bus. Your mom wanted me to pick up something from your dad's.

Michael: What do you mean, "bus"? I thought my mom offered you one of her cars.

Nelle: She did, which was really nice, but I couldn't accept something like that.

Michael: Nah, come on. Don't be silly. I'll give you a ride. Just as friends, okay? I swear.

Nelle: Okay.

Sonny: You know, I-I appreciate you taking time to see me.

Griffin: Of course. You can never be too careful with a spinal cord injury. You know, I didn't see anything externally that would be causing you pain, but let's see if the X-rays give us a little more insight.

Sam: Damn it, I just want the truth, for once! Do you even understand the concept?

Julian: I had nothing to do with what happened to Jason.

Sam: No, that's what he said! But, right before he collapsed, he was having coffee with you.

Sonny: Hey, what's going on? What's going on? Is Jason okay?

Sam: It -- b-barely, no thanks to him.

Julian: Okay. I have no idea what she's talking about.

Sonny: You don't have to -- your word means nothing to me.

Julian: What are you doing here? I thought you were under house arrest?

Sonny: That's none of your business, but since you asked, I got an appointment with Mr. Munro. Speaking of which, is there any way I could wait in -- in Jason's room, 'cause, you know, this is just getting crazy here. You know what I mean?

Griffin: When we left the officer in the waiting area, I told him I'd be responsible for you, that I would bring you back as soon as our examination was over.

Sonny: Yeah, but the examination's not complete, and we're waiting for the X-rays. So, it wouldn't kill anybody for me to just be in there, right, with Jason? 'Cause he's afraid of hospitals, and I just want to make sure he's okay.

Sam: Yeah. I mean, he could probably convince Jason to stay put and get the rest that he needs.

Griffin: Can you assure me that you won't do something that will cost me my job?

Sonny: I will -- yes, yes, yes. I will not leave Jason's room. You have my word. And my word actually means something.

Griffin: You have until I get the X-rays back.

Sonny: Thank you. Thank you, Doctor. Let's go.

Sam: Wait. I am not done with you. I know you lied to me.

Julian: I don't want to see Jason hurt. I wish you could believe me.

Sam: Yeah. I wish I could, too.

Sonny: Come on.

Lulu: Well, yes, I told Charlotte that I'm her mother, but with the very best of intentions. I upset my daughter, and I deeply regret that.

Valentin: So do I.

Lulu: I saw you comforting her. I saw the way Charlotte was clinging to you, hiding her face in your shoulder, like you were the only safe place in the world. I am forced to admit that Charlotte needs you. And, yes, the sight of you makes me sick. But I may have been hasty in thinking that I could drive you off.

Valentin: It was a slight miscalculation.

Lulu: Charlotte's hurting. So, for her best interests, after doing a lot of soul searching, I am offering to take you up on your original proposal -- joint custody.

Nina: Wow! Okay, Valentin is obsessed with you. Okay. Oh, wow. Is that why you keep on seeking him out?

Anna: No. Is it?

Nina: I mean, throwing cryptic messages out there and Latin? [Scoffs] "Don't underestimate me, right?"

Anna: Okay, good. Well, he translated it for you.

Nina: Yeah. He translated it for me, yeah, yeah. I don't speak Latin. But you know what? I do know a woman who has an agenda. I can see that, and you definitely have an agenda. And guess what? I know why.

Anna: Why?

Nina: You went to the WSB together at the training academy.

Anna: He told you?

Nina: Yeah. I asked him, just like you wanted me to, after you harassed us and made a scene at The Floating Rib.

Anna: I didn't make a scene! For God's sake, he's held onto a photo of me for decades.

Nina: You make of it what you want. Oh, I have photographs of so many friends, Anna, so many friends that I grew up with, stuck in a box somewhere. It's memories of times gone by. Big deal.

Anna: He didn't come here to Port Charles to reminisce with me about old times. He came here to taunt me and the Spencers and Lulu!

Nina: You know what? I'm really sick -- I'm sick of people telling me what kind of man my husband is! I'm sick of that!

Anna: Well, you need to know.

Nina: What is that?

Anna: No! You -- that's none of your business.

Nina: That's him, isn't it?

Anna: It's Valentin, yeah.

Valentin: Just to be clear, you are the one who petitioned for sole custody.

Lulu: And now, I am willing to compromise, for Charlotte's sake. Oh, this offer does come with a condition.

Valentin: Okay. I'm listening.

Lulu: You, me and Charlotte and Nina and Dante all attend family therapy together.

Valentin: A psychologist?

Lulu: Whether you like it or not, the four of us are going to be Charlotte's main support system. She needs to know that no matter how we feel about each other, we all love her unconditionally. It's a pretty tall order, which is why I think we need a professional to help us through this.

Valentin: Okay. This is the part where I tell you, "I decline."

Lulu: It wasn't a suggestion. If you want joint custody to work, this is the way it has to be.

Valentin: About that. My original offer to share custody -- consider it rescinded.

Nina: This was taken when you guys were at the WSB, right?

Anna: Yeah. He went by the name Ivan Theodore back then.

Nina: Um, he said you were friends, until he made the mistake of trying to kiss you, and then you -- you pushed him away, because you were disgusted.

Anna: That's just his interpretation of the whole thing.

Nina: Oh, I-is it?

Anna: Yeah.

Nina: Well, I think there's a little bit of truth to it, or else you wouldn't be standing there radiating such guilt.

Anna: No. I have nothing to feel guilty about.

Nina: You don't?

Anna: No. No, I don't.

Nina: You're beautiful.

Anna: Oh --

Nina: And I'm sure you were just as beautiful back then. Valentin is not so beautiful, right? But he was smart. Brilliant. And you knew that, so you used him. You strung him along in the name of friendship, didn't you? And then he made advances at you, and then you kicked him in the teeth. It happens every day. Now, it's hard for you to admit that. And you're ashamed. Because you cannot admit that you were shallow and thoughtless and cruel.

Anna: [Sniffles]

Nina: Valentin makes you uncomfortable because he sees you. He sees the Anna Devane that's not so beautiful after all.

Nelle: Uh, Michael, I wanted to thank you.

Michael: Oh, for giving you a ride?

Nelle: For a lot of things. Um... not judging my relationship.

Michael: Yeah, well, uh, judging people's a sure fire way to be lonely, so... hey, besides, you're my friend, right?

Nelle: Yeah. We're friends.

Michael: Look, I, um -- I care about you, Nelle, and I just want you to be happy. And, uh, I know you wouldn't be in your... arrangement if you didn't find happiness in it. Come on. Hello?

Carly: Hey. In here.

Michael: Hey!

Carly: Wow. Uh, hi. Um, this is a nice surprise.

Michael: Yeah. I gave Nelle a ride.

Bobbie: Well, that was nice of you.

Nelle: Did you pick all the photos you wanted me to drop at the copy center?

Carly: Uh, yeah. They're right here.

Michael: Is all this for Joss's family tree?

Carly: Mm-hmm.

Michael: Is this -- is this you as a baby?

Carly: [Laughs] Yes, that's me.

Michael: Oh. Look at those cheeks.

Carly: Oh.

Michael: Who's holding you?

Carly: That would be Frank Benson.

Michael: Your adoptive father?

Carly: Yep.

Michael: I'm surprised you have this, Mom. You never talk about him.

Carly: I don't have much to say about him. I don't really remember him, you know? He left Virginia and me before I was 3. Left us flat. Never sent us a dime. And Virginia, well, she supported us on a secretary's salary. And she didn't talk much about him. I just -- I don't know, I kind of got the impression that he was a sad, bitter man.

Sonny: We're just glad you're okay.

Jason: Yeah. Yeah. I think it was just a bad flu. I was feeling a little run down, that's all.

Sam: Oh, come on. We both know that this has nothing to do with your health. You were drugged.

Jason: Sam, I told you to let it go.

Sam: Uh, what?

Sonny: Sam seems to think that Julian had something to do with it.

Jason: [Chuckles] Okay. I don't think so.

Sonny: Well -- well, don't dismiss it. If he thinks you're getting closer to finding the truth about the car bomb, he could've done it just to get you off the case.

Jason: That's the point there, man. There's no case. Look, I'm sorry about your son, but I cannot investigate his murder any longer. I-I can't do any of this any longer, okay? I'm out.

Sonny: You're out? What the hell does that mean?

Jason: It means I'm not going to investigate anything else for you. I know where this is leading. I told you this a million times. I don't want to be a part of your organization, so let's just end it.

Sonny: I'm not comfortable talking about this in front of Sam.

Jason: Anything... [Chuckles] ...You can say to me, you can say to Sam. That's pretty much my point. I've got a real family that I need to concentrate on -- my boys, my wife, I got a kid on the way. I can't put them in danger any longer, just for you.

Sam: Uh, I-I love you, Jason, but I would never ask you to give all of this up for me. I didn't ask you to.

Sonny: I'm -- I'm counting on you. The person responsible for killing my son is still out there!

Jason: Yeah, I'm aware of that. Morgan was like blood to me, too, but he's gone and my children deserve a chance, so I can't put them in danger. And, by the way, we're chasing shadows. There's no way to know who planted that bomb.

Sonny: What about the surveillance tape -- the pawn shop you went to?

Jason: There are things that don't add up. [Chuckles] But I'm not going to do the math for you. Not if it means sacrificing my family. I'm sorry.

Michael: I-I hate that your childhood was so painful.

Carly: Baby, it's okay, really. I have made peace with it. It motivated me to make something of myself, and it led me to my family, which really matters to me.

Nelle: Did you ever check up on your adopted family after you left, to see what became of them?

Carly: Well, I could care less what happened to frank. I mean, that man's a stranger to me. The only thing he ever gave me was a last name that I don't even use anymore. But Virginia raised me, and she put up with me. I was a pretty difficult child. I was. You know, and she never gave up on me. She died, you know, right after Michael was born. She's buried in Florida. Jason helped me make the funeral arrangements. After, we went to the beach. That was Virginia's favorite thing to do, you know? She said, "there's nothing that can't be made better by an afternoon at the beach," and, you know, she was right. I didn't want to get in the water that day, but Jason did, and he took you with him. It was the first time you were in the ocean. Oh, God. You were barely 4 months old. I wish I had a picture of that. I mean, I'm always gonna have the image in my mind of Jason walking out of the water carrying you in his arms. You know, I think I have some pictures of Morgan up in the attic that I think Josslyn might want for her family tree. Do you mind waiting a few more minutes?

Nelle: Sure. Not a problem.

Bobbie: I'll give you a hand.

Michael: I can do that, Grandma.

Bobbie: Nelle? Is everything okay?

Nelle: I'm fine.

Bobbie: Are you sure? You seem...troubled.

Nelle: I said I was fine.

Bobbie: Is something about this photograph bothering you?

Nelle: All right, listen to me. Are you ready? From day one, you have had it in for me, all right? I don't know what else I can do to convince you to back off!

Bobbie: Whoa. All I did was ask if you were okay. But I must confess, there is something that's seeming all too familiar to me about all this right now. You know, Nelle, when I was a kid, my Aunt Ruby had this cat, Patches. Patches would disappear for days on end. She was always up to something.

Nelle: Mm-hmm.

Bobbie: And everybody in the house knew that it was best just to leave her alone. But some of the kids in the neighborhood didn't understand. They wanted to play with a sweet, little kitty. So, they chased her around and around until they backed her into a corner, and that's when she'd attack. When she had nowhere else to go.

Carly: Everything okay here?

Nelle: Yeah. Everything's fine. Um... I'm just gonna drop those. Do you have all the pictures for me?

Carly: Yeah. Yeah.

Nelle: Good. Um, I'll drop those off and pick them up in the morning.

Carly: Thank you.

Nelle: Mm-hmm. Michael, thank you for the ride.

Michael: I-I can give you a ride home.

Nelle: It's -- it's fine. I'm okay. Thank you. Good night.

Carly: Good night.

Michael: Good night.

Carly: What did you do?

[Door slams]

Bobbie: Nothing.

Carly: Mom.

Michael: [Stammers] No. Don't blame Grandma. Uh, uh, Nelle's been thinking a lot about her family today.

Carly: She has? Really? Oh, God. And you hanging out with her after we talked.

Michael: Y-yeah. No. I ran into her. I-it was fine. We -- we hashed things out. It was good. Um, we're still good friends.

Bobbie: Friends? As opposed to what?

Carly: Mom!

Michael: No. We went out a couple times. Um, I like her. I-I thought we could be something else, but, um, she's dating an older man.

Sonny: 20 years, and you're just gonna abandon me.

Jason: It's not about you, it's not about me, it's about the people in my life.

Sonny: Well, you wouldn't have a life if it wasn't for me. I took you in, taught you everything you know. What are you gonna do now, turn your back on me? Huh? Is that what you're gonna do?

Jason: Look, this is how it has to go down, okay? It's the only way I could protect my family.

Sam: Jason, you don't have to give all this up for me.

Jason: It isn't just for you, it's for us. And don't act like we haven't discussed this before.

Physical Therapist: Mr. Jerome, there you are!

Julian: Yes, yes. I'm here. No need to yell.

Physical Therapist: Okay. We are ready for you in the P.T. room.

Julian: Fantastic. Thank you.

Physical Therapist: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: You're making the wrong choice, Jason. Deep down inside, you know it, but what's killing me is that you're lying to yourself.

Sam: We're clear.

Jason: How'd I do?

Sam: I mean, I think you both are better liars than I ever gave you credit for.

Sonny: You know what? Just to pull one over on Julian is just amazing to me, isn't it?

Sam: But let's just hope he bought it, because the only way Jason and I can keep looking into who Julian's working for is if he and his boss think we're no longer threats.

Lulu: What are you saying?

Valentin: Was I unclear? Joint custody's no longer on the table.

Lulu: But I'm Charlotte's mother.

Valentin: An accident in biology.

Lulu: That was no accident. It was Helena's doing and yours! You kept my daughter from me!

Valentin: Well, I had my reasons, and it turns out I was right.

Lulu: Right? To deprive me of my daughter! And to keep Charlotte from her real mother?

Valentin: The very first thing you did was hurt Charlotte. You wanted to feel a connection. You wanted to be her mother. You, you, you. You didn't care about Charlotte's needs. Well, I do. I love her, and I don't want to share custody with you!

Lulu: Are you kidding me?! I just offered to compromise with the man who murdered my brother for Charlotte's sake.

Nina: Um, what's going on here?

Lulu: Should ask your husband. He is gunning for a fight, but he has no idea what he started. When it comes to wars between the Cassadines and the Spencers, news flash -- the Spencers always win.

Nina: Are you okay?

Valentin: What, that? I'm fine. I've had -- I've had worse. How did you find me?

Nina: I-I called the house and they said that you weren't there, and I just assumed you'd come here.

Valentin: Yeah, well, Lulu wanted to meet me, so I thought we should come here. How -- how was your errand?

Nina: Uh, to be honest, it wasn't an errand. I went to meet somebody.

Anna: [Sighs]

[Computer beeps and flashes "Access Denied"]

Bobbie: I'm sorry. So, has Nelle said who this boyfriend -- older boyfriend -- of hers is?

Carly: Mom, Michael is right. It's Nelle's business. We don't have to know anything about it.

Bobbie: Okay, you're right. You're right. Sorry. Fine by me. Listen, I'm gonna go, because I know we've got a couple of more albums back at the house. So I'm gonna go dig through, see if I can find them.

Carly: Thank you.

Bobbie: Love you, honey.

Carly: I love you, too.

Bobbie: Bye, Michael.

Michael: Bye, Grandma.

Bobbie: Hey, it's me. I need a favor. Yeah. I need you to find out everything you can about Nelle Hayes.

Michael: Hearing you and Nelle talk about your childhoods made me realize how lucky I was. Despite the fireworks between you and Dad and the long, long trips to Puerto Rico, I, uh, I never doubted how much you two loved me and that you would do anything for me.

Carly: That's still true right now, you know?

Michael: And I'm just -- I'm sorry you didn't -- you didn't have that kind of security as a kid.

Carly: Oh, gosh. It's okay. It really is. I mean, I-I've come really far from where I was, you know, and it's all worked out, right? I'm so proud of the family and the life that I've been able to build for myself.

Nelle: You know, for a second, I thought about letting this all go. Leave the past in the past and start something new with Michael, but that's just a fantasy, isn't it? Because I could never be completely honest with him.

[Siren wails in distance]

Nelle: I remembered the promise I made you. And after hearing Carly talk about her so-called accomplishments, about her past, she deserves everything that's coming to her. She deserves to have the world come crashing down on her.

Sonny: Be careful.

Sam: Of course.

Sonny: And keep me posted?

Sam: Yeah.

Jason: Good work, man.

Sonny: Of course, yep.

Sam: Thank you so much. I really appreciate this.

Sonny: What's up, Doc?

Griffin: I, uh, I went over your X-rays. Your, um -- your back is fine. In fact, it's better than anyone could've hoped.

Sonny: You don't say?

Griffin: Yeah. Which means either your pain was psychosomatic or you just forced me to be a part of something that I'm not very happy about.

Sonny: Well, I wouldn't worry about it. Um, no harm done. I'm starting to feel better already.

Julian: Trust me, Liv. We don't have to worry about Jason anymore. Well, I'd consider it a win. You've done what nobody else in Port Charles has managed to do -- scare Jason Morgan.

Sam: I know it must have been really hard for you to convince Julian that we aren't afraid of him, but I thank you for that.

Jason: Oh, please. Only way we could get answers. And, besides, I could truly care less about what your father thinks of me.

Sam: Me, too. But, you know what?

Jason: Hmm?

Sam: I will be glad... [Groans] Oh, my big belly. ...When this is all over, and it can just be me, you, Danny and the baby.

Jason: Hmm. Yeah.

Valentin: And, uh, who was this someone you went to go visit?

Nina: Anna Devane.

Valentin: You didn't need to do that.

Nina: I did. I needed to do that. I needed to tell her to stop harassing us.

Valentin: Well, I'm sure she had a lot to say.

Nina: I don't care what Anna thinks of you.

Valentin: Well, something happened. What was it?

Nina: I saw... what you looked like. Anna had a picture.

Valentin: Sorry. That's unfortunate. God, that was cruel... of Anna to show you that. Um, I mean, I-I tried to warn you, but I can't imagine what -- what it must feel like. I can't imagine what you -- what you think of me.

Nina: I'm glad I saw Anna. But not for the reasons you think. And I'm glad I saw the picture. I needed to see the picture... understand your strength, your courage, and what it actually took for you to remake yourself. I admire you.

Valentin: You don't need to say that.

Nina: It's true. I admire you. And I meant what I said earlier. The only thing you're ever gonna see in my face is how much you mean to me. [Kiss]

Singer: Maybe we can find a way to make it seem all right make it seem all right

Anna: Oh, hi. This is Anna Devane here. Uh, I need access to a restricted file. Um, yeah, uh, last name is Theodore, first name is Ivan. Um, I am head of the East Coast branch of the U.S. Division of the WSB. My access code is -- what do you mean that file doesn't exist? Because I'm -- I'm staring right at it. Wait. What the hell? [Gasps] Oh, no, no, no! Wait, wait! Oh! [Sighs]

[Laptop screen goes blank]

On the next "General Hospital" --

Alexis (to Julian): Are you going somewhere?

Ned (to Dillon): I'm starting to think that she doesn't exactly feel the same way I do.

Carly (to Olivia): I need you to know something without knowing it.

Jordan (to André): We should talk.

Elizabeth (to Franco): Where else would I be if not beside you?

Jason (to Sam): I can't do this if I don't know my family's safe.
