Griffin: I'm here because I want to know more about my father, Duke, and you're my only real connection to him.
Anna: So how did we get from that to you offering up unsolicited advice on a confession?
Griffin: I know pain and grief when I see them. I thought, by talking about it, you might find some peace.
Anna: Are you wearing a wire?
Anna: Did Paul send you?
Griffin: You're free to check me for a wire, and I have no idea who Paul is.
[Door closes, cell phone rings]
Paul: Hornsby here.
Carlos: Rivera here.
Paul: Well, it's about time.
Carlos: You miss me?
Paul: Like I miss a headache.
Carlos: Well, that's not very nice.
Paul: I'm not in the mood, Carlos, so unless you're calling to tell me that you're on your way back to Port Charles right now, this conversation's over.
Epiphany: Hey, stranger. It's good to see you up on your feet.
Sonny: I owe it all to you.
Epiphany: [Laughs] If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were trying to butter me up.
Sonny: Nah, I was just being honest.
Epiphany: Mm-hmm. And let me honest, too. I am still mad as hell at you for lying to your family, pretending that you couldn't walk.
Parker: [Inhales sharply as she pulls away from their kiss] No, Kristina. No, this can't happen.
Kristina: Why not?
Elizabeth: I can't believe I didn't see it before. You're Rachel Berlin.
Hayden: I have no idea who you're talking about. I'm Hayden Barnes.
Elizabeth: Oh, come on. Everybody knows who Rachel Berlin is. She and her father were plastered all over the media!
Hayden: That's nice, but I'm not her.
Elizabeth: Rachel, didn't your father teach you how to cover your tracks? Or are you out of practice? You forgot to erase your browser history.
Hayden: You spied on me?
Elizabeth: You already typed in the name "Naomi Dreyfus." A few clicks away, and I was thrown into a rabbit hole of internet information all about the financial scandal that rocked Wall Street. Your name and picture were everywhere. I know you're Rachel Berlin. And now Nikolas is going to, too.
Laura: Okay, let's find out what Helena left me.
Lulu: Okay, no, you can't do it.
Laura: Why? Lulu, we've come this far. I want to know what Helena meant when she said this key would unlock what I loved and lost.
Lulu: What if Helena is playing out her own version of a Greek myth?
Laura: I think that's a little farfetched.
Lulu: Uh, not for Helena. Mom, don't you remember Pandora's box? She released all the furies onto the world. She freed death and destruction and violence.
Laura: But at the bottom, there was hope.
Lulu: This might be a trap.
Laura: [Sighs] You know, you're really starting to sound like your father now. But just in case you're right, I'd like you to step back a little while I open this up.
Lulu: Whatever is gonna happen to you is happening to me, too.
Laura: [Sighs] Okay.
[Creaky trunk lid opens]
Kristina: Talk about mixed signals. You come to my house, again, tell me how much you care, let me kiss you, and then you say that it can't happen?
Parker: I do care about you, Kristina, but the kiss was wrong. That's not why I came here.
Kristina: Then what? Is it just fun to watch me embarrass myself?
Parker: There's no reason to feel embarrassed. Look, and just for the record, I have no intention of pressuring you to open up to your parents about your sexuality. In time, you'll figure out a way to be yourself.
Kristina: Be myself? I have no idea who that is anymore.
Parker: You should talk to someone. Counseling will allow you to work through all this confusion and get out of the dark place you've been hiding in for so long.
Kristina: Don't talk to me about counseling. Talk about us. That kiss, you say it was wrong, but you didn't come here by accident. You must've wanted something to happen between us.
Sonny: Don't be mad at me, Epiphany. You -- you are inspiring, a miracle worker.
Epiphany: [Sighs] More flattery?
Sonny: No. Y-you made me realize that, instead of allowing that wheelchair to dictate my life, that...I can see it as a challenge and rise up and beat the odds.
Epiphany: And did you ever. I heard about what went down at All Saints during that wedding. Some gun-toting maniac grabbed your daughter Kristina as a hostage? I could almost feel sorry for him.
Sonny: I couldn't.
Epiphany: He didn't know who he was messing with.
Sonny: No, he didn't know who he was messing with. Good thing is he did me a favor 'cause I got to save my daughter.
Epiphany: And that was a very good thing. Carly's temper, that's another story.
Sonny: That's a fair s--
Sonny: That's a fair statement.
Epiphany: Hey, I bet that she was livid that you lied to her.
Sonny: Well, yeah.
Epiphany: And the kids, they gave you an earful, too.
Sonny: Now, a-all my kids were upset, and...they got over it.
Epiphany: Maybe. Or maybe, without saying it in so many words, they trust you a little less.
Sonny: I just want to tell you that I'm -- I appreciate you keeping the secret.
Epiphany: I didn't have a choice, Sonny. Patient confidentiality.
Sonny: You think that's it? Or maybe... you know, maybe you stayed quiet 'cause you kind of -- you like me a little bit.
Epiphany: [Laughs] Don't flatter yourself. You put me in a bad position with Dr. Munro. He asked me to give him a patient evaluation about you, and I told him that he'd have to judge for himself. Of course, it probably took him all of two minutes to realize that you could walk.
Sonny: Two and a half.
Epiphany: You think this is funny?
Sonny: [Sighs] Can we just... forgive and forget?
Carlos: Is your offer still on the table?
Paul: You return to Port Charles to testify that Julian Jerome ordered the hit on Duke Lavery. In exchange for your testimony, you get immunity.
Carlos: As long as I keep quiet about you killing Sloane and Anna Devane trying to kill me.
Paul: Everybody wins.
Carlos: Even if that were true, why would I trust you?
Paul: You don't have another choice. Think about Sabrina and your child. Don't you want to live with them in the sunshine instead of in the shadows where you are now?
Anna: Paul Hornsby's the district attorney. He's thoroughly corrupt. You might already know that. You're making a big mistake if you've thrown in with him, you know?
Griffin: I'm not conspiring with the DA.
Anna: I'm just supposed to believe that? You follow me for weeks, and then when you finally get caught, you tell me this story, complete with a letter from your mother?
Griffin: You think the letter was fabricated?
Anna: I don't know. You seem familiar to me. I just thought perhaps there was some kind of family resemblance to Duke, but maybe I just wanted to see that. Maybe this whole thing is just a setup.
Griffin: To what end?
Anna: I've led a very complicated life. I have a lot of enemies that would not be above using my love for Duke by producing some kind of... long-lost son of his. I don't know.
Griffin: I assure you I'm exactly who I say I am.
Anna: Well, I need to be sure of that.
Griffin: No wire. And I want you to run a DNA test.
Anna: Just like that?
Griffin: Yeah. I never meant to imply that you had something to confess, but I want you to trust me so you'll share your memories of my father. Let's settle this... so we can be friends. Run the test.
Lulu: We're still here. Think Helena's losing her touch.
Laura: [Chuckles] I don't believe that she would ever settle for something so simple, so cliché as an explosion. She prefers riddles, mind games.
Lulu: Is that what we're looking at? Because all I see is a book.
Laura: Textbook. Strange. "Scott Baldwin"? "Introduction to Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice."
Lulu: Okay, now it's getting weird.
Laura: Just now?
Lulu: Does this book mean something to you, Mom?
Hayden: So typical of you, running to Nikolas with your lies.
Elizabeth: No, no, no, you misunderstand. I'm gonna be running to Nikolas with the truth about you, Rachel.
Hayden: Fine. You got me. You can't be the one to tell Nikolas. It has to be me.
Elizabeth: I don't trust you to be honest.
Hayden: I will be. I just need some time. I'll do it.
Elizabeth: How much time? 10 years? 15?
Hayden: Soon. I promise.
Elizabeth: [Scoffs] Your promises mean nothing to me.
Hayden: Just let me handle it, okay, Elizabeth? I'm -- I'm begging you.
Nikolas: Hey. What's going on here?
Anna: This was Duke's. I bought it for him -- this fancy shaving boutique downtown. He thought it was a little much. I think it's just right. Anyway, there will be sufficient DNA on here for the lab to run his test. And I will have yours, as well. I have a lot of friends at the PCPD that'll expedite the test.
Griffin: I hope the DNA test gives you some peace of mind, and I'm sorry that you thought I was trying to get you to confess a secret. You'll see that's not who I am.
Anna: That remains to be seen.
Griffin: It's pretty clear that something is weighing on you very heavy, Anna. When I talked before about forgiveness being the greatest gift we can give, the very best gift of all is finding a way for us to forgive ourselves. Try and find a way to do that, Anna.
Carlos: Wow! You'll say anything to get what you want, huh, Hornsby? That metaphor was a nice touch.
Paul: There is nothing pretty about life on the run.
Carlos: Yeah, well, the thing is, it's my life and my family.
Paul: So help them out by coming home and getting immunity so you can be free.
Carlos: The only way my family is gonna be free is if we stay as far away from Port Charles as possible.
Paul: We can protect you here, Carlos.
Carlos: Why would you do that? Way too many people benefit from my death. You and Anna would be off the hook. Julian wouldn't have to worry about me talking. Oh, and then, of course, there's the man who would happily dance on my grave... Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny: You've done so much for me. I just want us to be good -- again.
Epiphany: [Scoffs] We're good.
Sonny: Are you sure?
Epiphany: [Chuckles] You did what you had to do to survive in your world.
Epiphany: Not my place to judge.
Sonny: Well, I wish Dr. Munro felt the same way because, uh, he was pretty upset about keeping the secret, and he started lecturing me about the error of my ways, and now he's late for my checkup.
Epiphany: Well, that man is nothing if he's not conscientious. I'm sure he has a good reason for being tardy.
Sonny: I can't believe that you're giving somebody the benefit of the doubt. Are you -- are you in love?
Epiphany: [Stammers] Shut your mouth. Milo is the only man in my heart.
Sonny: Well, speaking of Milo, he's been bragging about those pictures that he -- I don't know -- I guess you took into Crimson. And you got --
Epiphany: Oh, yeah, yeah. He bought 10 copies as soon as the issue hit the stands. [Laughs]
Sonny: He's a good man.
Epiphany: Yes. Yes, he is. And I try to stay out of his dealings with you.
Epiphany: I worry sometimes. [Sighs] Milo is still furious that Carlos shot you. He says that, uh, he would've killed Rivera with his bare hands if he wasn't already dead.
Lulu: So, is the point of this book about Scott? What is his connection to Helena?
Laura: He doesn't have one other than the fact that he's handling her will.
Lulu: So what? This book, it's... one of his old law books?
Lulu: Is there anything from that time that jumps out at you?
Laura: Well, Scotty was a law student when we were first married, but... I remember. Ah. I-I wanted to help my husband, so I went out. I bought all the textbooks that he needed without any thought of the cost, and my actions put us in a pretty precarious financial situation that year.
Lulu: So how did you fix it?
Laura: I went out and I got a job at the campus disco... ...where I met your father.
Hayden: I'm so sorry, Nikolas, but Elizabeth is making the most ridiculous accusations.
Nikolas: No, no, no.
Hayden: You need to leave now.
Nikolas: What -- what accusations are --
Hayden: She's still in love with you. Nikolas, it's borderline obsessive. She will say anything and everything to break us up. Please, don't listen to her.
Elizabeth: Take it from me, Hayden. The lies aren't worth it.
Hayden: You just need to leave now. I need to speak to my husband alone.
Elizabeth: So you can lie to him some more?
Hayden: So my husband and I can have some privacy.
Elizabeth: I'm sorry, but I can't pretend not to know the secret.
Nikolas: What sec-- what the hell is going on here? Will somebody please --
Hayden: Elizabeth, don't. Please.
Elizabeth: Hayden's real name is Rachel Berlin. Her father is Raymond Berlin.
Nikolas: Raymond Berlin?
Nikolas: Ra-Raymond Berlin?
Elizabeth: Yeah. The investment advisor who bilked his clients out of billions of dollars. He ran that elaborate Ponzi scheme for decades, and it all came crashing down when he was arrested a few years ago.
Nikolas: Is it true? Is that why that guy Baxter Corbin in Vegas called you Rachel? You're Rachel Berlin?
Hayden: Yes. I'm Rachel Berlin, Raymond Berlin's daughter.
Nikolas: So, for starters... your father isn't -- isn't dead.
Hayden: No. But he did have a heart attack. I didn't lie about that.
Nikolas: Oh, one truth mixed in with how many lies?
Hayden: He had a heart attack when I was a child, but he recovered, and he went back to work.
Elizabeth: Swindling people.
Hayden: I know you probably know that he was convicted of securities fraud, among other things. He's in prison.
Nikolas: And -- and your mother's still alive, and she continues to deny any knowledge of any Ponzi scheme. So you lied to me about her, as well?
Hayden: I told you my parents were dead because, to me, they might as well be.
Nikolas: So what?!
Hayden: I have no contact with them.
Nikolas: You lied to me about everything!
Hayden: No, I reinvented myself. I didn't have a choice. Everyone ostracized me. I had to distance myself from my old life. I left Manhattan. I changed my name, my identity. I did everything I could to escape my reputation.
Nikolas: You not only needed to escape your reputation, but you needed to also escape prosecution for your part in your father's crimes.
Laura: I don't get it. I mean, is this book meant to be about Scotty or Luke or both of them?
Lulu: Or maybe Helena left that book to mess with your head and this is all a wild goose chase.
Laura: It is starting to feel like that.
Lulu: You found the lock that the key opens. You found an old book. That's it. The treasure hunt, it's over.
Laura: Maybe you're right. I mean, where is any of this getting me, really? If this thing is meant to remind me of my past with Luke and Scotty, [Scoffs] I have gone over that more times than I would care to count, and I really kind of made my peace with it.
Lulu: So what do you want to do?
Laura: I want to stop playing games with a dead woman.
Parker: Kristina, I'm attracted to you.
Kristina: Finally, an honest answer. We -- we can work with that.
Parker: No, we can't. Having feelings for someone and being attracted to them, it's entirely different than acting on those feelings. I'm married. I love my wife. I'm not gonna jeopardize that.
Kristina: Then why do you keep showing up here?
Parker: You're right. I have... no business showing up at your home. I should've called. I see, in hindsight, how you must've thought that I was leading you on, and that wasn't my intention. I'm sorry. You don't need my interference right now. [Voice breaking] What you do need is time and space to figure out who you are, what you want.
Kristina: I want you, Parker. You're the first and only woman who's ever made me feel this way.
Paul: I'll make sure you're protected against Julian and Sonny.
Carlos: Even if I believed you -- which I don't -- there's still you and Anna. You both want me dead.
Paul: Well, I don't doubt that Anna hates you, but she would rather see Jerome behind bars than you dead.
Carlos: Oh. Oh, funny. See, that's not the impression I got when she shot me.
Paul: As for me, I'm not going to kill you. I'm the DA.
Carlos: You shot Sloane!
Paul: You know that bastard raped my daughter.
Carlos: Yeah, no, I know you told me the whole sad story, and it's terrible, but you're missing the point. You've proved that you can kill when you need to. I'm safer away from you, and that's where I'm staying.
Paul: Then why the hell did you call me?
Carlos: 'Cause you haven't wired me my payment yet.
Paul: And why should I keep paying you?
Carlos: 'Cause I can still destroy you, Paul. You send me my money, or I'll make sure those cops know that their esteemed district attorney killed a man -- oh, a former federal agent no less.
[Knock on door]
Carlos: Wire me that money, or your nightmare becomes real. Oh, and tell Anna I said hello.
[Knock on door]
Paul: Anna. Come in.
Anna: Just tell me one thing. Are you any closer to bringing in Carlos?
Griffin: I apologize for being late. I was with Anna Devane.
Sonny: She okay?
Griffin: Yeah, she's fine. We were actually talking about somebody you know very well -- Duke Lavery.
Sonny: Yeah, I miss Duke.
Griffin: I wish I'd known him. It was clear how much Anna loved him. He was her heart.
Sonny: You know, I know Anna enough to know that she doesn't really talk about her personal life, especially with a stranger -- no offense.
Griffin: None taken. I, uh -- I think she made an exception in my case because Duke Lavery was my father.
Kristina: Up until we met and we had started to connect outside of school, I knew who I was. True, I may have been a train wreck, but I was straight. And then, when we clicked the way that we did, I couldn't stop thinking about you and wondering what it would be like to be with you. And I don't care if that makes me gay or straight or whatever. The labels don't matter. All I know is that I want to be with you.
Parker: I'm flattered, Kristina, but that's even more of a reason that we can't be together.
Kristina: More than you being my professor and being married?
Parker: I don't want to get all "shrinky" on you, but I would speculate that you've had feelings for women before. You just haven't allowed yourself to acknowledge them, and you saw me as a safe way to let those feelings surface.
Kristina: How are you safe?
Parker: I'm an authority figure, I'm taken, professor-student relationships are forbidden.
Kristina: But I came onto you anyway, which wasn't very safe. I was safe because I stayed out of reach.
Parker: I even turned you in to ethics violation because I wasn't willing to lose my career and my marriage over a student, even one with as much potential as you.
Kristina: Okay, you're doing it again. You're saying how special I am, and then you're slamming the door in my face.
Parker: I'm sorry, Kristina, for all of it. I want you to explore this side of yourself without fear and without shame.
Kristina: And without you.
Parker: Without me.
Sonny: So, whose idea was the DNA test?
Griffin: It was a mutual decision. Yeah, I'm sure my mother told me the truth, but I'm a doctor, so it never hurts to verify. This way, Anna will have all the proof she needs.
Sonny: You know, [Sighs] When we met in the chapel, I got a feeling about you. It was easy to talk to you.
Griffin: I remember. We connected over our losses.
Sonny: And our faith.
Griffin: I didn't even know who you were then or that my father worked with you.
Sonny: Duke Lavery was a true gentleman. And he was kind and thoughtful, and he never backed down from his beliefs.
Griffin: That's the same thing Anna said.
Sonny: I guess that's where you get it from.
Paul: I just want to assure you that I'm using every possible resource to track down Rivera, but you of all people should understand these kind of operations take time.
Anna: Oh, I'm supposed to be patient? Yeah, that doesn't work for me. Do you know who I've been contacted by? Duke's son. Yeah, I'm not sure of the relationship yet, so we're running some DNA tests. But I have to say the circumstantial evidence is pretty compelling.
Paul: What does this have to do with Carlos?
Anna: He's still out there. None of this is resolved. I accused Duke's son of trying to coax a confession out of me today. Now, I have a lot of flaws. I just never thought I was paranoid. So I don't intend to spend the rest of my life second-guessing everyone I meet.
Paul: I trust you didn't say anything to this fellow.
Anna: No, I didn't, Paul. Our secrets are safe. I don't like being in league with you, so I've decided to use my own resources to find Carlos and bring him in.
Laura: Hey, Lulu. [Chuckles] You won. I'm ready to give up the riddle forever.
Lulu: [Sighs] Um, maybe you might want to rethink that.
Lulu: There's something in the book.
Lulu: It looks like an old wrist corsage.
Laura: Oh, my gosh. I remember this! Scotty was in law school, and we were going to a formal, and he gave this to me. My goodness. [Scoffs] I haven't thought about that night in years.
Lulu: Did something special or unusual happen that night?
Laura: No. No, it -- well, except for the fact that it really was one of the last happy times that we had together in our marriage. I guess he must've kept it. [Sighs]
Lulu: Do you think that Helena knew it was in Scott's book?
Laura: Oh, yes. Of course, she did. She doesn't leave anything to chance.
Lulu: Well, then that brings us back to Scott. What does it even mean? It's not like you're looking to rekindle that old flame.
Laura: No. Although, you know, [Chuckles] That was a pretty magical time in my life. I mean, we were so young and so in love and... that was long before Helena was ever a part of my life. So why would she be pointing me in this direction?
Nikolas: Feds have always suspected you knew what your father was up to, but you denied it.
Elizabeth: Well, does that surprise you? She's a first-class con artist. Runs in the family.
Nikolas: Your father protected you, but the investors he cheated, they want restitution, any little bit of cash they can get their hands on to make up for the life savings they lost, to make up for the future of their children that your father stole from them.
Elizabeth: You reinvented yourself, all right. You changed your look, your name, just so you can hang on to all that money you and your father hid before he got arrested.
Hayden: He didn't hide anything. He was wiped out, and so was I. I lost everything -- my home, my husband, every friend, every associate, every penny. Everything I had, it was all gone. Everyone suspected me. I couldn't go anywhere without someone staring at me. I had to do something to survive.
Elizabeth: You could've gone anywhere in the world. You should've gone to Idaho and worked in a department store. Why'd you pick Port Charles?
Hayden: I didn't. I was in Beecher's Corners, putting my life together as Hayden Barnes, when Ric Lansing contacted me. I agreed to say that I was Jason's wife because Ric was willing to pay and I was desperate for money.
Nikolas: You must've been thrilled when you stumbled upon me, huh, a prince just waiting to be swindled?
Laura: Then there has got to be more.
Lulu: More inside the trunk?
Laura: Yeah, you know, like a false bottom, a secret compartment.
Laura: Mom, what if there is? Okay, what if there is another key that leads to another lock and on and on? Who even knows what Helena meant by "you'll find what you lost"? This could be like "Rosebud" from "Citizen Kane."
Laura: It could be.
Lulu: Nothing else in the trunk?
Laura: No. So that's it.
Lulu: That's it, Mom. It's over. We're done.
Laura: [Sighs] It -- you know what? It just -- it can't be that simple.
Lulu: It can be that simple. But, Mom, I'll admit that that corsage made me a little curious, okay? But that was what it was supposed to do. Every minute you spend chasing this mystery is a minute that you are giving to Helena, a minute where you are doing what she wants.
Laura: Lulu. The answer's in the book.
Hayden: What we have, who we are to each other, that's real.
Nikolas: No, no, why should I believe anything that you say? You are Raymond Berlin's daughter. Do you understand how that --
Hayden: Nikolas, Nikolas, if we could just talk someplace alone, I can explain everything.
Nikolas: Look, stop. Listen, please, please, please. Don't embarrass yourself. I saw those papers you tried to have drawn up without my knowledge.
Hayden: I told you why I did that.
Nikolas: Of course, you did. Because you wanted to protect me in case we lost the lawsuit. I didn't -- you know what? I didn't believe you when you were with Diane. I sure as hell don't believe you right now.
Elizabeth: She tried to take ELQ from you?
Hayden: I was trying to protect Nikolas.
Nikolas: No. [Chuckles] Whatever. What you were trying to do is protect yourself Hayden -- or Rachel -- or whatever the hell I'm supposed to call you. I don't -- I don't know. What were you hoping to do, use ELQ to pay back your clients? Or use my company to get back into the investment game and con more investors out of their money? I don't --
Hayden: It wasn't about either of those things, Nikolas, and I swear on all that I am I didn't know what my father was doing.
Nikolas: Let's assume for the moment that all of that is true and you're innocent.
Nikolas: Why wouldn't you just tell me who you are? You had the perfect opportunity in Vegas when Baxter -- if that's his name -- called you by your real name. You could've told me the truth right there instead of letting Elizabeth figure it out herself.
Hayden: I was afraid our marriage would be over before it started. Please believe me.
Paul: You can't just throw out a WSB dragnet and haul Carlos in. He'll tell the truth that you shot him.
Anna: And that you killed Sloane. Oh, that's too bad for us, isn't it?
Paul: Anna, you're losing sight of the objective. I thought the endgame here was to put Jerome behind bars.
Anna: Yeah, that's gonna happen because my resources will be able to arrange it far more efficiently than yours.
Paul: Hey, are you willing to sacrifice everything to put Julian and Carlos behind bars?
Anna: I want justice for Duke, and that's more important than my own freedom. And if Carlos puts you away at the same time, it's only fair.
Sonny: Duke was loyal to a fault. He defended the people he loved. He was gentle on the outside, had a lot of fight on the inside. He was a fighter, a survivor, and despite what happened to him, inside his core, he was a good guy. And I know that's hard for you to understand, because he worked for me.
Griffin: No, a man is not defined by his work. A man's more than just his job.
Sonny: Duke would've been hella proud to have you as a son. I mean, he would've been a world-class father. It's just too bad that he died before you got to know him.
Griffin: I guess it just wasn't in God's plan.
Sonny: God had nothing to do with it. Some son of a bitch gunned him down.
Griffin: I know. I read the newspaper articles. Anna filled me in on a few details about Carlos Rivera.
Sonny: Well, then you know that Rivera played God 'cause, if it was God's plan, he wouldn't have had Carlos kill Duke.
Griffin: I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told her.
Sonny: What's that?
Griffin: Forgive the man that killed my father.
Paul: Work with me on this a-a little while longer. I just need some time.
Anna: No, there are no guarantees that Carlos is gonna cooperate with you. I have to do everything I can to find him.
Paul: How? You're the one who shot him. I'm your best chance at finding Carlos.
Anna: Honestly, you just seem concerned with your own self-interests.
Paul: How can you say that, Anna? I've protected you over and over again.
Anna: For your own reasons, you know, whatever they may be.
Anna: What I've realized is that I can't allow my own desire for freedom to get in the way of justice anymore.
Anna: No, that's it. We're done, Paul. I've got work to do.
Paul: Yeah, I-it's Hornsby. Listen, I got a juicy tip for you, but you didn't hear it from me. It's about Jerome's hit man, Carlos Rivera. The PCPD made a mistake in identifying that floater. Rivera's still alive. Oh, yeah. Oh, you don't have to tell me. This town is full of people who'd be happy to pump him full of bullets without thinking twice.
Sonny: If you knew your father, you wouldn't be able to forgive.
Griffin: You know I'm familiar with loss. You've been there. You know how it feels. I've been angry. I've let bitterness fester and seep into my blood, until I realized that forgiveness will set me free. I couldn't move on with my life until I stopped seeking revenge, that -- that justice in the world.
Sonny: Yeah, but I can't do that.
Griffin: What are you gonna do instead? Plot revenge? Meet bloodshed with bloodshed? Repay violence with violence? That's not gonna bring you peace, and that's certainly not gonna honor my father. That's so far away from the good faith that I know is inside you. Leave Rivera in God's hands. Do yourself a favor. Rise... rise above the empty satisfaction of revenge.
Kristina: [Crying] What am I supposed to do? I-I can't help what I feel for you. I can't make it go away.
Parker: Part of your confusion I think is because of me... because of my position, because I'm married.
Parker: You do know it's wrong, but not because I'm a woman.
Kristina: Great, I'm so glad that it all makes sense to you. [Sighs]
Parker: I don't want you to feel this way. I don't want you to feel shame and fear. I want you to be excited! Be happy to explore this other side of yourself. Embrace it and embrace who you are. Sexuality is just... one part of this extraordinary woman you're becoming. [Sighs] [Sighs] Goodbye, Kristina.
Laura: All these letters are circled, and they're on every page. I mean, it's got to spell something out.
Lulu: Uh, Mom, there are hundreds of them. This would take forever to figure out. What if it's even more complicated? What if this is some type of encrypted message?
Laura: Well, then I will crack the code or I'll find somebody else who can. But look, the point is, I have all the pieces of the puzzle now.
Hayden: All I want is for us to be together. Please, Nikolas. You've got to believe me.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, don't do this to yourself. She is no better than Britt.
Hayden: You know what, Elizabeth? Your work here is done. Could you please gloat in another room?
Elizabeth: Gladly. Be careful.
Hayden: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't tell you...who I am. You understand how a family can destroy a person. My father was so notorious. He was hated for what he did, and by extension, so was I. I was so ashamed and humiliated. I still am. Nikolas, I need --
Nikolas: Don't. Stop, stop!
Hayden: I needed to be someone else. I needed to be the woman I became with you. I needed to love and to be loved, and that's all I wanted from you.
Hayden: Not money. Nothing else -- just to be with you. No matter who my father is, no matter what lies I told, no matter who I am, the one big truth is this... I love you, Nikolas. [Sighs]
On the next "General Hospital" --
Elizabeth (to Laura): Piece of advice -- steer clear of the living room. All hell's breaking loose down there.
Nikolas (to Hayden): If you're lying about this, what -- what the hell else are you lying about?
Sam (to Jason): There's some things that just don't add up.
Paul (to Ava): We need to renew our mutually beneficial arrangement.
Finn (to Tracy): What happened? What's wrong?
