Olivia: Okay, you know what, Sonny, this is starting to get a little bit creepy.

Sonny: What?

Olivia: You're basically stalking me now.

Sonny: Stalking is a harsh term. I like to think of it more as, you know, it's the only way I can spend time with you.

Olivia: Yeah, without my consent.

Sonny: Just lighten up a little bit. Do you feel like leaving? Is that what--

Olivia: I probably should. Except I know that you're just gonna magically materialize wherever I happen to be going, right? So what's the point?

Sonny: Maybe you should just accept defeat. Could you at least just have one glass of champagne with me? I bought the best just for you.

Olivia: Oh, I am sure that you spared no expense, Sonny. You know what, you are really crazy if you think this whole little performance here is gonna work. You're crazy.

Sonny: I guess we're just gonna have to find out.

Elizabeth: There's no way Rebecca's getting near Lucky ever. I mean, that's just ridiculous.

Nikolas: Look, Elizabeth, I know it's a lot to process right now after everything that's happened, but if you think about it, this could be the opportunity that we've been looking for.

Elizabeth: What are you talking about?

Nikolas: I'm talking about us. I mean, if they're together, then that could leave us to be free to be together. Right?

Elizabeth: I don't--I don't even--this is crazy. This is not what I--

Nikolas: Hold on. Hold on. Just hear me out. I mean, Lucky was really into her when she first got here. He pursued her, and she was the one who shut him down.

Elizabeth: Yeah, I remember all that. That's the reason why we kissed in the first place.

Nikolas: Exactly. So if she starts showing interest in him now, who's to say it couldn't work between them? Who's to say that they couldn't be happy? And that could leave the door open for you and me to be together.

Elizabeth: Just stop. Just stop.

Nikolas: That's all I'm saying.

Elizabeth: Stop!

Nikolas: Why?

Elizabeth: Because it's never gonna happen.

Lucky: This mug shot was taken 3 years prior to the arrest you made.

Dominic: It must have been his first bust. And look, what a smartass.

Lucky: What?

Dominic: Look at his booking plate number.

Lucky: C-o-7-7-X.

Dominic: It's the same tag that's been showing up all over the city.

Lucky: So he's using his booking number as his calling card.

Dominic: Well, at least we know he's got a sense of humor, right?

Lucky: Okay, so we got, Joey Limbo's body was posed the same way as one of the photos at the Franco exhibit, right. This guy's tag, c-o-7-7-x, was at the murder scene. So everything's pointing to Franco. He's got to be involved in some way.

Dominic: I think we both know by now that the tagger and Franco are probably the same guy.

Franco: You sure you don't want that beer now? Or maybe something stronger? I have absinthe. Maxie left it.

Jason: I think you're guessing.

Franco: About Michael killing Claudia? I followed you that night, too. You might want to be a little more observant next time. What if I wasn't a friend?

Jason: Then tell me exactly what you think you saw.

[Franco sighs]

Franco: Well, I think that I saw you find the car wreck. I think you and your girlfriend lit up the cabin. And I think I could have been driving a forklift and you wouldn't have noticed.

Jason: Where were you?

Franco: Right behind you. Whole show. Sonny's ex-wife laid out on the couch in shock. His wife lying dead on the floor. And Michael kneeling over her with the murder weapon. I couldn't have staged it better myself.

Jason: What do you want?

Franco: I just got it.

Franco: You're not gonna even try to spin this? Michael got to the cabin after Claudia was beaten by an unknown assailant. Maybe Carly did it. Or maybe Claudia whacked herself with an axe handle.

Jason: You made your big impression. Now what?

Jason: You think that's what I wanted, to impress you? Get over yourself. There are things about me, things you can't even begin to imagine.

Jason: Tell me.

Franco: Why? You gonna turn me in? After everything I've done for you?

Jason: For what, Joey Limbo?

Franco: He said I was harmless. I'm not harmless.

Jason: I believe that.

Franco: Why is this kid so important to you? Michael offed his stepmother. It happens all the time. I once did a piece on a 10-year-old who took a blowtorch--

Jason: I have to protect Michael no matter what.

Franco: No, you don't. You just tell yourself that. You pretend like you don't have a choice. You're a killer because you want to be. It feeds something in you nothing else ever has.

Jason: No. No, it doesn't.

Franco: You act like it's a bad thing. You're a genius. Acknowledge it. Acknowledge me.

Jason: Okay, I've heard enough of this.

Franco: You can't just leave. You already left unfinished business at Front Street. Clean this up. You know you want to.

Jason: What?

Franco: Kill me.

Dominic: You know, I wish I went into that installation room at the exhibit. I never even got to meet Franco.

Lucky: Yeah, neither did I.

Dominic: I read his bio. It turns out he's some kind of overnight sensation in France. I mean, this must be before that because he looks like a homeless guy here. Wait, wait, wait. You know what, when we were leaving the ambush on Front Street, Jason said he saw a homeless guy waving at us when we were driving away.

Lucky: That could have been Franco.

Dominic: Yeah. I mean, it would put him in the proximity. He'd be able to pose Joey's body.

Lucky: And finish him off by crushing his windpipe.

Dominic: I guess now we have to figure out if Franco's ever been held in relation to any murder.

Olivia: You trying to get me drunk? I can drink you under a table. So if that's your master plan, then you better start thinking of a new one.

Sonny: The only plan that I have is, you know, I was just trying to figure out how to spend more time with you. 'Cause last time we got rudely interrupted, and we didn't even get a chance to eat dessert.

Olivia: I'm sure it was very delicious.

Sonny: You have no idea how great the dessert was.

Olivia: Sonny, I see what you're doing here, okay. It's not gonna work. I'm with Johnny, and I love him.

Sonny: Okay, okay. So, you love Johnny. Why do you think you love Johnny?

Olivia: You know what, if you're gonna stand here and start trashing him again, you're gonna very quickly find yourself in your stupid hotel room with your very expensive champagne all by yourself.

Sonny: Olivia, it's just a question. I'm just curious. I may learn something. It's been a long time since we were together, and, you know, is it wrong of me to want to know what floats your boat?

Olivia: Why do you care?

Sonny: Because maybe I want to try to make you happy.

Olivia: Well, you've got a very strange way of showing it.

Sonny: You see, that's what I'm trying to understand. Because I'm out of your loop. I know, you know, the Olivia Falconeri from back in the day, but it's the new version I'm trying to figure out. So go ahead, tell me. What is it about Johnny that you think you love?

Olivia: Why, because you think whatever he gives me, you can give me more and better?

Sonny: You said it, I didn't.

Nikolas: I know how you feel about me. And how it feels like to you when we're together. And I really wish that you would stop denying that.

Elizabeth: Oh, Nikolas.

Nikolas: No, no, it's true. You keep denying what you feel for me because you feel guilty about Lucky.

Elizabeth: And you don't?

Nikolas: Yes, but the only reason you agreed to marry him is because that's what he wanted. You're just trying to make him happy.

Elizabeth: No, I am trying to do the right thing. The right thing for him, the right thing for me and my boys.

Nikolas: Elizabeth, doing the right thing and being in love with someone, it is isn't the same. I know that you love him. I mean, he's a huge part of your past. He's a great father to your kids. But you do not love him the way you love me. You can't--

Elizabeth: Don't tell me how I feel.

Nikolas: I don't have to tell you how you feel because you already know. It's written all over your face every time we're together. I'm sorry. I know that you're doing everything you can to avoid hurting him, but you don't have to do that anymore. He's already offered to break it off. All you have to do is agree to it. You know, he could be with Rebecca or whoever the hell else he wants to be with, and then you and I could see where this thing is going.

Elizabeth: I can't.

Nikolas: What?

Elizabeth: I can't. I can't do it to him. I mean, definitely not with someone like Rebecca. I can't even believe you would even think it's okay for her to be with your brother, but you know what, that doesn't matter. None of it matters. Even if she were the nicest person in the world, even if she were Emily.

Nikolas: Oh, come on.

Elizabeth: I couldn't do it. I want the life that Lucky and I planned together. And I'm not gonna lose it because of some affair.

Nikolas: Some affair. This isn't just an affair to me, Elizabeth. I'm so in love with you.

Maxie: I'm really sorry that I have been neglecting you. And now I guess I'm just gonna have to do something to compensate. Tonight we're gonna focus on us. We can do anything you want. Anything.

Spinelli: I'm not sure this is the most opportune time.

Maxie: No, no, no, look. See, I'm gonna turn my phone off. There will be no interruptions. No phone calls, no work emergencies. And if Kate gets all huffy, then so be it, you know. I mean, it's time I reprioritize my life. Nothing's more important to me than my sweet and sexy non-husband. I haven't been making the greatest choices recently, Spinelli, and I promise you that I'm gonna fix that. You mean everything to me. I love you.

Spinelli: Is that all you want to tell me?

Maxie: That's my promise to you. Hey, I have an idea. Why don't I put our song on the jukebox and we could dance. Maybe you could sing to me again. We could get rid of that, get a couple of orange sodas. What do you think?

Spinelli: Um, I'm afraid I have to decline. I have some pressing business matters to attend to, so.

Maxie: You have to go right now? I mean, I wanted to make everything up to you. I promise you won't be sorry.

Spinelli: I guess it'll have to wait.

Maxie: Okay. Call me later?

Spinelli: Okay.

Sonny: That's a pretty long pause, trying to think about what you love about Johnny. Let me get you started. Being with him is a great way to annoy me.

Olivia: Of course you would find a way to make this about you.

Sonny: Am I wrong?

Olivia: Oh, believe me, Sonny, believe me, I don't make my romantic choices based on what you're gonna think of them.

Sonny: Sounds like you're protesting a little too much.

Olivia: Okay, you know what, I was just trying to be nice. All right, I was trying to not hurt your feelings, but if you want me to spill it, I...

Sonny: Let her rip. Go ahead.

Olivia: All right. All right. I love Johnny because... well, see, he's wild and he's reckless and maybe a little bit crazy, but he's also got this incredibly soulful side. So it's like he's got the best of both worlds. He's, like, got the dark, mysterious thing, but he's also extremely hot.

Sonny: Okay, we don't have to go that far.

Olivia: And--you asked. It's not just that he's extremely hot, though. He's, like, this incredibly genuine, sweet, loving guy.

Sonny: Sounds familiar. I'm trying to think of somebody else that you described that way. Hmm. Hmm. Let me think. Oh, got it. Me.

Elizabeth: You're not in love with me. You're just confused because when we're together, it's so intense and amazing, but it's not love.

Nikolas: What? And now you're telling me how I feel?

Elizabeth: It's not about me. This is still about Emily. You haven't figured out a way to live your life without her. And then you jumped into something with Rebecca, and you got burned and you turned to me for comfort and support, and I gave it to you. And it just so happens that I was going through my issues at the same time.

Nikolas: Look, I am so sick... so sick of dissecting the past of this whole thing. Now, I know how I feel. I know how I feel right here, right now. And that is, I am in love with you. And if you were honest with yourself, you would say the same thing back.

Elizabeth: Love is something you build. It just doesn't happen.

Nikolas: Oh, come on.

Elizabeth: And you and I both know it. We know it because we've had it. Real love. Lucky for me, Emily for you. What is happening between us, it's just new, and like I said, it's amazing, but it's gonna end, Nikolas. It's just gonna fizzle out.

Nikolas: So honestly, what you're saying right now is I am temporary for you? Is that what you're telling me?

Elizabeth: That's what you should want. You should want that. Because I know you feel guilty about this.

Nikolas: Well, of course I feel guilty. I'm betraying my brother. It's a terrible thing to do. But just because he loves you doesn't mean I don't get to. Look, I know that what we're doing is completely crazy and it's wrong, and I feel terrible about it, but I can't just switch myself off, Elizabeth. I love you. I love you. What else do you want me to say to you?

Elizabeth: What we have is not love, it's a mistake.

Nikolas: Why? Why are you doing this? Why? Please.

Elizabeth: We can't.

Nikolas: Why?

Elizabeth: If you love me, you'll just leave. Please. Please.

Nikolas: Okay. I love you.

[Door slams]

Dominic: All right, you know, we should check to see if any of Franco's other crime scene exhibits have shown up in real life.

Lucky: We're gonna have to coordinate with the French police on this, see if he has an arrest record or any investigations over there.

Mac: What the hell is this?

Dominic: No, we're cool. He knows I'm undercover.

Mac: How long do you think your cover's gonna last if one of Sonny's people sees you hanging out in the PCPD computer room?

Franco: You carry a silver Beretta 9 millimeter, if I recall correctly. So what are you waiting for? Why don't you whip that sucker out and blow pieces of me all over this studio? Who could tell?

Jason: Is that what you want?

Franco: There you go again, refusing to own it. What I want? Come on, you've killed dozens of others for less reason. And it feels so good after. Have you had your fix today?

Jason: You want me to get caught.

Franco: You're right. You can't just kill a celebrity in his studio and expect to walk. You need to lure me to some place not associated with either of us. The Pine Barons is out. There's probably a cemetery worth of corpses in there that you've dumped. You know, do you ever think about putting up gravestones and a little visitor's booth where you could hand out flowers and maps?

Jason: You're trying really hard to make this happen.

Franco: I don't have a death wish. Not for myself.

Jason: I'll keep that in mind.

 [Door closes]

Mac: Look, I hate to admit it, but Sonny's got people in this department on his payroll. I don't know who or how many, but if you've been seen, your cover has been blown.

Lucky: Mac, take it easy. We're working on a pretty big lead for who crushed Joey Limbo's windpipe.

Mac: Dominic needs to stay focused on why he came to Port Charles. Your target is Sonny. If you're unable to take him down, we'll never get this close again. You need to leave the station. You understand? There's a lot of eyes in this place. I can't control all of them.

Dominic: Okay, look, I know, and I get that, but we're working on something a lot bigger than just Joey Limbo's death.

Mac: I don't care. It's not as important as busting Sonny.

Dominic: Okay.

Lucky: Okay. Look, I'll keep working on this. We'll figure out how to get in touch, all right?

Dominic: I'm gone.

Mac: Turn right out this door, all right. There's an exit down the hall.

Dominic: Thanks.

Mac: Sonny has done too much damage for far too long. Do you understand? Dominic is finally in a position to stop him. I don't want anything to screw that up.

[Door closes]

Sam: Oh, I'm glad you're back. I was really worried.

Jason: You were right. Franco is completely crazy.

Sam: What happened?

Jason: We talked. Franco did most of the talking. He's a smart guy, but he is completely obsessed with me.

[Drops keys]

Sam: Okay, what did he say?

Jason: He's fixated on death and killing. And he said he's a big fan of my work, like I'm some kind of artist or something, but everything he's been doing was to get my attention.

Sam: Define "everything."

Jason: He's been following me for months, Sam. He knows that Michael killed Claudia. And this guy is gonna use what he knows to get me to play his game.

[Franco laughs]

[Spinelli exhales]

Franco: Have you ever had your heart broken?

Spinelli: That's precisely why the Jackal is here.

Franco: Come in. Who is he?

Spinelli: Who?

Franco: This Jackal.

Spinelli: Oh, he is I.

Franco: Me.

Spinelli: You, too?

Franco: No, he is me, not I. You.

Spinelli: Me?

Franco: You what?

Spinelli: Perhaps we should begin again.

Franco: From the top.

Spinelli: Allow me to introduce myself.

Franco: You ever seen a throat slit, Spinelli? Neither have I. What do you think it's like?

Spinelli: I can only imagine. Graphically.

Franco: There comes a time in an artist's life when he needs to experience the world first-hand. Wouldn't you agree?

Spinelli: Well, I would say that would depend entirely upon the experience.

Franco: I'm glad you're here.

Spinelli: Apparently.

Franco: What we have here is a failure to communicate. I need to send a message, and you are it.

Sonny: Go ahead, really. I want to hear about this great love of yours.

Olivia: Oh, why is that Sonny, so you can mock me some more?

Sonny: I'm not mocking. I'm taking every, you know, word at heart. So, I mean, tell me about how young, soulful Johnny is.

Olivia: You know what, you're really just too jaded to even understand what we have.

Sonny: Try me.

Olivia: Okay. I love Johnny's eyes.

Sonny: Uh-huh.

Olivia: They're deep and they're dark. They're easy to get lost in.

Sonny: Remember when we were under the boardwalk, and I gave you that kiss and you--

Olivia: Sonny, stop it. This is not about you. We're talking about Johnny.

Sonny: I know. I know. I'm sorry. Keep going.

Olivia: He is very funny.

Sonny: Yeah?

Olivia: You wouldn't probably think about someone like John, but he's actually, he's hilarious. He makes me laugh.

Sonny: Why did the chicken cross the street? To get to the other side. See, I can be funny, too. Right?

[Laughs]

Olivia: Stop it.

Sonny: Okay.

Olivia: Okay, this isn't about comparing you and him. And I know what you're trying to imply here, but John is not a substitute for you.

Sonny: You sure about that?

Olivia: Yeah, I am. You will always have a special place in my heart, Sonny. Always. You know that. But there's just too... we're just--we're different people now.

Sonny: Yes, I know. I mean, we haven't been together for a long time. And we both been through some pretty...tough life experiences. But we still have a connection like we always had. And I'm just trying to figure out why you're trying so hard to fight it.

Jason: I think Franco wanted me to like him. I mean, he kept going on and on about how we're both artists of death.

Sam: What is that supposed to mean?

Jason: He's trying to compare what I do to what he does.

Sam: Okay, are you telling me that he's trying to compare his paintings to killing or that he's killed people, too?

Jason: I don't know. But the way he was talking made it seem like he knows a lot more than just how to paint. He's a tough guy to get a read on. He was the one who kept asking me questions about my process, like he wanted to know why I was so good at what I did. And then he said something a little weird. He said that I hide behind other people instead of admitting that I enjoy killing.

Sam: You don't.

Jason: He was getting angry at me because I didn't say anything he wanted to hear, so I finally decided to leave, and I headed for the door, and that's when Franco told me he saw Michael kill Claudia.

Sam: I don't like this. This is not sounding good.

Jason: I mean, I guess I could have shot him right there, but I don't know what kind of evidence he has against Michael and where it's gonna turn up, so I just-- I just walked away.

Sam: That's good. You did the right thing. For now, anyway.

Jason: At least I know Franco's not going anywhere.

Sam: Why?

Jason: He thinks we're both artists of death. He wants to prove he's better than me.

Franco: He made me wait. I don't wait. I waited for him.

[Slash]

Spinelli: Well, Stone Cold can be vexing in that regard.

Franco: I wanted him to like me. He had his chance.

Spinelli: Well, you know, words are not Stone Cold's friends. I would suggest not taking the presumed sleight personally.

[Slash]

Franco: I take everything personally.

Spinelli: You know, I can see that this is a most inopportune time.

Franco: You're here to talk about your girlfriend. Relax. I wanted Maxie for the same reason I want you. I want you to deliver a message to your roommate. Tell...what do you call him?

Spinelli: Stone Cold.

Franco: Not for long. Tell Stone Cold that next time he'll show a little respect.

Spinelli: Next time?

Franco: Come back soon, you hear?

Sonny: What did you think the first time you saw me again? Heh.

Olivia: I thought that you've gotten even more handsome. And I thought that I was happy that your life turned out all right. Thought I'd be nice, do what you asked, come to your wedding to Connie.

Sonny: But you stayed in town. And then I went from Kate to Claudia, which I don't blame you for not getting involved in that mess.

Olivia: Well, I tried to warn you.

Sonny: Yes, you did. And I didn't listen. I should have. The point is, I'm free now.

Olivia: Yeah, but, Sonny, I'm not. Hey, you can't keep ignoring John.

Sonny: I know. But you can't deny that... this, us, it just feels right. And I think that, you know, you're using Johnny to keep me away. And you've told yourself for whatever reason that you can't be with me, but you can't lie and tell me that you don't feel anything.

Olivia: Sonny, I will always have feelings for you. Okay?

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Olivia: You know that. What I'm telling you right now is that I will never act on that. Never. I can't.

Sonny: Okay. I can respect that.

Olivia: Going somewhere?

Sonny: Enjoy the rest of your evening, Ms. Falconeri. You got champagne, you got dessert. It's very good. I hope we can do it again.

[Knock on door]

Lulu: Well, somebody can't get enough of me.

[Dominic chuckles]

Lulu: Let me guess, you are here to thank me by taking me out to dinner for sneaking you into the PCPD.

Dominic: You know, you were great today, by the way.

Lulu: Mm-hmm.

Dominic: And I would love to be doing that, but unfortunately, I need another favor.

Lulu: Really?

Dominic: Yeah.

Lulu: Should I be writing these down?

Dominic: Look, I will make this up to you soon, okay? But this one's important. Lucky and I need a place to hang out so we can talk cop stuff without me worrying about my cover.

Lulu: Wait a minute, are you and Lucky, like, partners in crime fighting now?

Dominic: Something like that. Your brother's a good cop. He's got good instincts.

Lulu: What happened with the graffiti guy?

Dominic: I can't really tell you about that stuff. What? This is one of those times where it's better the less you know sort of things, you know?

Lulu: So, wait a minute, you guys were thinking that you could use my place as some secret field office, but I can't know anything about what you guys do here. So how's that supposed to work? What am I supposed to do? Like, leave? Are you serious?

Dominic: Look, I will really appreciate this. This would be a huge favor. And then we can, you know, talk about, you know, terms of repayment.

Lulu: No, no, no, no. You know what you can do with your terms of repayment? Same thing you can do with your secret little meeting. And feel free to tell Lucky I said that, too.

Dominic: Okay.

[Door closes]

Jason: I still don't know what kind of proof Franco has on Michael. Pictures, probably video. He's probably got some kind of backup plan in place in case he dies. But you know what saves us? He's using Michael as a means to an end. It's all about provoking me.

Sam: What happened?

[Door closes]

Spinelli: Uh, the Jackal has been forcibly instructed to relay a message to Stone Cold from Franco.

Jason: You went back over there? Spinelli, what are you thinking? I told you to stay away.

Spinelli: I was hoping to clarify certain things with Franco about Maximista.

Jason: He could have killed you. Look, I don't know what Franco is capable of, but if he is who I think he is, nobody's safe.

Spinelli: I'm truly sorry. Believe me; I deeply regret disobeying your orders.

Jason: Spinelli, I'm just trying to protect you. This guy is sick. He's fixated on me, which puts everybody that I know at risk.

Sam: What else did he say to you? Did he threaten you?

Spinelli: No, he didn't physically threaten me, but it was certainly implied in his tone. He spoke at length about how he views Stone Cold as a fellow artist. But he seemed deeply upset about you refusing to share your process.

Sam: Okay. You said that he said something else about him, that he sent a message or something like that.

Spinelli: Uh, yeah. Franco wanted me to convey to you that he will be waiting and that you should have treated him with more respect.

Coleman: You just need to ask Spinelli what's going on. Men don't usually play this whole kind of guess why I'm pissed game. That's kind of the female specialty.

Maxie: I don't know. I feel like Spinelli was waiting for me to say something, and then when I didn't, he just made up some excuse and took off.

Lulu: Hey, I'm glad you called. I could really use a drink. Hi, Coleman.

Coleman: Hey. Another frustrated woman? That's going around tonight. What do say you girls let Uncle Coleman make you up something special, huh? On the house, too, as long as you promise to put in a good word with that sassy boss of yours. Okay?

[Both laugh]

Maxie: I still cannot believe that Kate is dating him. So what's your deal?

Lulu: Oh, no, nothing. I mean, it's not that big. I'm just really annoyed with Dominic. I can't even tell you the reason why. Let's just say that I don't like being patronized and dismissed.

Maxie: I'm sorry. Does this mean you actually just admitted you and Dominic are dating? Never mind. I have another thing that I need you to focus on. Spinelli has been acting really mopey, and I don't know why.

Lulu: Hmm. It might actually help if you admitted that you slept with Franco.

Maxie: Would you keep that down? Nobody else is supposed to know about that.

Lulu: I give that secret another week, tops.

Maxie: Well, I made you promise you weren't gonna say anything. Besides, I think that I have a plan that might help fix things, but I need your help. Ahem. I need to go to Franco's studio and confiscate any photos that he might have taken of me and make him swear not to talk about, you know, what happened and maybe convince him to do the "Crimson" photo shoot.

Lulu: I'm sorry, wait. You need me why?

Maxie: Well, Franco's studio is scary and I need backup.

[Telephone rings]

[Ring]

[Ring]

Franco: I'm busy.

Woman: Where have you been? I must have called your other cell a dozen times.

Franco: It died. Gunshot wound.

Woman: Oh, no, not again. Promise me you won't blow away anymore inanimate objects.

Franco: Well, the toaster's starting to piss me off.
