Alexis: I know how good your intentions are with your sisters, and in so many ways you are so good for them, but I'm the mom, and if they have questions or need guidance... I want them to come to me and not you.

Sam: Yeah, okay, why don't you just come out and say it? You think I'm a bad influence on Molly and Kristina.

Alexis: No, that's not what I'm all. I'm saying that in...present circumstances... I'm concerned about some of what the girls might be learning from you.

Kiefer: I, uh, I hope this doesn't bring up any bad memories.

Kristina: It's not the same room.

Kiefer: I mean, whatever happens I promise I won't get mad.

Kristina: Even if I... disappoint you?

Kiefer: You're nervous. It's only natural. Look, you've never had sex before, but don't worry. I'll make it really good for you. Okay?

Claudia: And why would I be concerned about Ian Devlin on any level? The man's been dead for over a year.

Jason: Well, I guess we're about to find out. Devlin probably recorded everybody he talked to in Port Charles.

Claudia: And there we go. Full circle. So why are you telling me?

Jason: I just want to see if you're afraid, Claudia. And I think you are, because you know that you're gonna have to pay for what you did to Michael.

Claudia: Here we go again. You're implying, again, that I had something to do with Michael's shooting.

Jason: Oh, I'm not implying.

Claudia: Well, I hate to disappoint you, again. I'm not your girl.

Jason: You're a liar.

Carly: This can't happen. It's too soon. Our little girl can't be born.

Jax: Is there anything you can do to stop the labor?

Kelly: I'm giving Carly medication that might.

Jax: There's no guarantees?

Kelly: So far, there's been no effect.

Carly: Okay, well, be honest. If our little girl is born tonight, what are her chances of survival?

Claudia: I feel sorry for you. You're like this obsolete war tank. No cause, no effect. You're all primed for battle, but your enemy is long gone.

Jason: You're right here.

Claudia: I'm Sonny's wife, in case you forgot. You want to do your job? Try finding a real enemy. Stop wasting your scary energy on me. And while you're at it, why don't you update your grudge list. You know what, Jason? It's a tragedy. It's horrible what happened to Michael. But it's done. There's no going back and undoing it. Why can't you just--just be happy that the kid woke up and he's okay?

Jason: Is he?

Claudia: He wants to be. He does. He wants to move on. He wants to move on with his life and move forward, but you won't let him. You're stuck in the past, and by God, you're gonna stay there, aren't you? Until what, you assuage your own guilt? Sonny's fierce enforcer, hired to protect him, asleep on the job when your boss is under attack and his little boy gets shot instead?

Kelly: It's always preferable for a mother to carry to term. If labor begins prematurely, there are a few steps we can take to try and stop it. We've taken those steps, and I know it's frustrating, but we're in a holding pattern.

Carly: Okay, but I'm asking you, if the labor can't be stopped, does our little girl have a chance?

Kelly: Hey. I need you to calm down, okay? Try and think positive thoughts. We'll take this one step at a time.

Jax: Thanks, Dr. Lee.

Kelly: Okay.

Carly: [Sighs] Come on, baby girl, you gotta pitch in and help. You just gotta stay in mommy's belly a little longer. We're gonna do it together.

Coleman: Damn straight. In fact, that little mama in there is already strong as an ox. Those fries I've been sneaking you, they are chockfull of potassium and vitamin C.

Jax: How'd you do that?

Coleman: Well, I prep 'em with the skins on. And that's where you get all your nutrients.

Johnny: Hey. Uh-uh. You just keep talking to your baby. Just like that. The two of you, you know, working together, you'll pull through.

Sam: I love my little sisters. I am a part of their lives. I thought that's what you wanted.

Alexis: It is. I did, I do, I always will. But they're impressionable. They idolize you. They have said you're this exotic, wild, adventurous creature who has this life of drama, intrigue, and even sex.

Sam: Sex. We're back to that. Jason and I were not having sex when Molly walked in.

Alexis: It's okay, it's okay. That's not the issue. It's just that Molly's impressionable; I really don't want to have the sex talk with her right now. She's only 10.

Sam: She's only 10. I'm sorry. I--I'm sorry. I didn't know she was here.

Alexis: Okay. It's okay.

Sam: Can I-- without you getting mad, can I please just make an observation here?

Alexis: Sure.

Sam: Okay, um, look, this is about my little sisters, not me, first of all. You micromanage every aspect of their lives, with leaving very little room for self-discovery, which is key--key for Kristina right now.

Alexis: She's just having a lot of trouble right now, and I want to--I'm doing what I know to do to keep her on track.

Sam: Okay, yeah, I understand that, uh, but Kristina and Molly do know exactly what you expect from their lives--nothing less than perfection--and perfect little girls don't challenge or complain, they just bear up. And...feel the pressure until they crack into a million little pieces. And I'm just saying that maybe when Kristina and Molly are here, they can actually admit to being human and admit to insecurity and fear.

Claudia: You know why Michael was here tonight, Jason? He said he wanted to spend some time with his father, in the present. You know what he said? He said he wants to move on. He wants to move forward in his life. And I'm sure he's told you as much. But you won't let him. You can't let him because you have to have this enemy to push against, and if you don't, you have to look inside and see your own irrelevance. Man, the world is turning. You need to try to keep up.

Jason: I'm gonna go spend some time and listen to the recordings that Devlin left. If I hear your voice, Claudia... I'm coming back... with the enemy in sight.

Sam: I try to learn from my mistakes. And even if I can't quite manage to apply the lessons to my own life, I can certainly try to pass them on to my little sisters. I know firsthand the traps that are out there for young girls today, and I think that I can help Molly and Kristina avoid a few.

Alexis: But I'm their mother, and that's supposed to be my job. The truth is, is that I'm just scared because, uh, Kristina is struggling right now and she needs someone to talk to, and she won't talk to me because she thinks that I suck and you're all that, and... as much as I know that you really, really, really want to help her...and despite how much I love you, and I hope you know that I really do... I--I don't want her to make some of the choices that you made.

Sam: Really? What's wrong with me?

Alexis: Nothing. Nothing. You're wonderful. You're amazing. And without any help from me, and despite so many disadvantages, you have managed to make a life for yourself. But look at the road you had to take, and...I want the girls... to like themselves first and be able to make... choices to have a stable relationship instead of drowning in the dysfunctions of the Jasons and the Sonnys.

Sam: Look who's talking.

Alexis: I'm not one to talk. I don't want them to emulate my behavior or my choices either. I just want something better for your sisters. So... here's the key, and I just think it would be best if she doesn't use it anymore.

Kiefer: [Chuckles]

Kristina: That was just klutzy. Sorry.

Kiefer: You don't have to apologize. I get it. You're nervous, okay? We'll go as slow as you need to.

Kristina: I'm sure babying me through sex isn't what you had in mind.

Kiefer: Hey, what matters is that we're together. And we're about to be closer than ever. Okay? You still want that, right?

Kristina: I do. I want to be close to you, but...It's just-- it's a big deal, you know?

Kiefer: Yeah. The biggest. You have the condoms?

Kristina: Right here.

Kiefer: Great.

Kristina: Are you sure we shouldn't, uh, wait until the birth control pills kick in? It's only a month.

Kiefer: No. The condoms will be enough. I promise. Come here. What?

Kristina: I've never had sex. I'm not even sure how to...

Kiefer: Well, I'll show you. All right?

Kiefer: You okay?

Kristina: Mm-hmm.

Kiefer: Look, I'm really glad that you trusted me enough to be your first. I mean, we're really together now.

Kristina: That was the idea.

[Cell phone rings]

Kristina: What are you doing?

Kiefer: That's my reminder. I gotta go.

Kristina: Now?

Kiefer: Uh, yeah. My dad's coming home from a business trip, so I gotta pick him up at the airport. But I will take you wherever you need to go, okay? We just gotta make sure that no one sees us leave together. 'Cause that's all we need, right? Our parents knowing that we hooked up.

Carly: [Breathing deeply]

Jax: How did that one feel?

Carly: It seemed a little less, I think. But it could just be wishful thinking. Oh, God, Jax, I'm scared.

Jax: Hey. You don't have to be scared.

Carly: I'm scared and I just don't want our baby to feel how scared I am.

Jax: You don't have to be scared, okay? I'm right here with you. Everything's gonna be fine. Whatever happens tonight, the baby's gonna be fine. Okay?

Carly: Okay.

Jax: Okay.

Carly: I know. Okay.

Jax: Okay.

Coleman: Hey. Heh. I thought ice chips might come in handy. You gotta be parched, right? I mean, heartfelt thanks to the man upstairs, but, uh, I've never been around anybody having contractions, and I just-- I didn't realize they were so intense.

Johnny: I, uh, I found this in the gift shop. It's a storybook. I don't know, I figured maybe the sound and the cadence of your voices would calm the baby down a little bit.

Carly: Thank you. This is so sweet. Both of you. So thoughtful. Thanks so much.

Coleman: Well, hey, don't go spreading it around.

Johnny: Yeah, right.

Coleman: We got images to maintain.

Johnny: Is there anything else we can do to help?

Jax: I think we got it from here.

Carly: Yeah.

Jax: Thank you both for staying with Carly and the baby. I appreciate it.

Johnny: Yeah, glad we could be there.

Coleman: If we're all good in there...

Carly: Yeah.

Coleman: I'm out.

Jax: Thank you.

Coleman: All right.

Carly: Okay.

Johnny: Uh...I can stick around in the waiting room if you guys want--if you need a doctor muscled or anything.

Jax: Uh, no, that's--

Carly: No.

Jax: That's very kind of you.

Carly: But I appreciate it.

Johnny: Yeah.

Carly: You should go home and sleep it off and... everything will be better in the morning.

Johnny: Yeah. All right.

Jax: Thanks.

Carly: [Groaning]

Jax: That was, uh-- ohh, hey. Everything's gonna be fine.

Carly: Yeah, I know. Okay.

Jax: Yeah. Yeah, it'll be good. It'll be just fine.

Dominic: [Sighs]

Olivia: Here you go, baby. That's what I made you after your first day in uniform. You remember that?

Dominic: Thank you. I am starving.

Olivia: You're always starving. I'm sorry, honey. I know you're upset about being taken off the case. But it really is for the best, you know? Just let--let somebody else take Sonny down.

Dominic: As long as it's not your son, right?

Olivia: Yeah. Yeah, okay, yes. I'll cop to that. I don't need to pick up a paper someday and read that my kid got fitted for concrete blocks.

Dominic: [Laughs] Shoes, Ma. Concrete shoes. You know, in the drink, sink like a stone.

Olivia: Yeah, okay, I get it. I get it.

Dominic: You know, it's funny. I--Sonny is not how I thought he'd be.

Olivia: What do you mean?

Dominic: I mean, when he's not being all godfathery to us, he's just--he's like a regular guy. He's got his struggles, he loves his kids. The big piece that I can't figure out what it is or where it goes is Claudia.

Olivia: Oh, please, don't even get me started.

Dominic: Ma...I mean, you're a good judge of people, I mean, do you think there's more to Claudia than meets the eye?

Olivia: Uh, no, I think it's exactly the opposite. I think the nasty psycho you see is the nasty psycho you get. She's damaged. She's deranged. And frankly, she's a menace to society.

Dominic: How far do you think Claudia would go?

Olivia: There's no limits. There's no boundaries to what she would do. What do you care about Claudia so much? You're off the case. Dante... you're off the case, right? Oh, God, don't do this, honey. Please. You're not backing off, are you? You're gonna try to go out like some freakin' loner here and try to take Sonny down yourself, aren't you?

Jax: Baby's heartbeat's stronger. That's good.

Carly: No more contractions. Maybe we're out of the woods.

Jax: Well, let's hope so.

Carly: Oh, God, if we are. I mean, if we're lucky enough to have dodged this bullet, I am going to stay in bed and be happy about it until we bring this little girl into the world.

Jax: I know you will.

Carly: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm such a pain.

Jax: No. Are you kidding me? You and the baby are the best thing that ever happened to me. You're not a pain.

Carly: This little girl deserves everything we can give her. And she's gonna be okay. She is. She's gonna be perfect.

Michael: Kristina. Hey. Hey. Are you okay? Did somebody hurt you? Look, if Kiefer did anything. If he--

Kristina: I'm not hurt!

Michael: Why are you crying?

Kristina: I'm scared, Michael.

Michael: Why?

Kristina: I am so scared. I'm not this paragon of virtue like Mom thinks. I'm afraid I'll screw up really bad...and she'll disconnect from me like she has with Sam.

Michael: I don't understand. Alexis is mad at Sam?

Kristina: Maybe mad isn't the right word. She just has extreme disapproval, which is worse than anger with my mom.

Michael: Well, what did Sam do?

Kristina: She lives. She breathes. But according to my mom, in a completely inappropriate way. She's wild and irresponsible. She doesn't have a "real job." She sleeps around and makes bad choices.

Michael: Sam is an adult. She does what she wants, and there's nothing wrong with that. I might be a little slow, but I still don't understand why you're such a wreck. I mean, why don't you tell me what's really happening?

Kristina: My life, okay? As it rolls out... sometimes what I want, or think I want, isn't what Mom expects of me.

Michael: I mean, isn't that what life's all about? You know? Just going out into the world and finding out who you are apart from your parents.

Kristina: You couldn't possibly understand. You got Carly for a mom. She's a little crazy and overprotective it. [Sighs] Ohh... okay, will you help me pull it together a little bit?

Michael: Yeah.

Kristina: I couldn't hold up under scrutiny right now, and it's more important than ever that I do.

Michael: Here. Come here.

[Knock on door]

[Door opens]

Sam: Hey.

Jason: Were you--were you crying?

Sam: No, of course not.

Jason: No, no, no. Sam. You look like you were crying.

Sam: I have allergies.

Jason: Since when?

Sam: Did you go see Claudia?

Jason: Yeah, but that can wait. Why don't you just tell me--

Sam: Later. What happened?

Jason: Uh, I did what we talked about. I told Claudia Devlin has recordings that could expose the person that ordered the hit on Sonny.

Sam: How did she react?

Jason: She was careful not to, but I think I got to her.

Sam: Want a drink?

Jason: Actually, I'd rather have an answer. Why don't you tell me what's going on?

Sam: Fair warning--'cause this is gonna sound really juvenile. My mother hates me. And it really hurts my feelings.

Claudia: Uh, no, I know that you're not exactly a 4-star, but you must keep some sort of records. Uh, Dr. Ian Devlin. He liked to stay in these little roach motels like yours, and now--hello? Oh, loser.

Claudia: Sonny's not here, so you might as well leave.

Johnny: I'm here to see you.

Claudia: Well, I'm feeling a little fragile today, John. I'm not really in the mood for you to tell me what a disgusting person I am and how much you hate me.

Johnny: I don't hate you.

Claudia: Really? Could have fooled me.

Johnny: Do you want to hear what I have to say or shall I show myself out?

Claudia: I'm listening.

Johnny: [Sighs] Well, I got pretty snockered tonight. Kind of blotto really out of my mind to get some relief.

Claudia: Did it work?

Johnny: Not so much. But something else happened that, uh, made me think about things. Carly went into labor in Jake's parking lot.

Claudia: God, is she...the baby, it's too soon. The baby's okay?

Johnny: Yeah, the baby's fine. The doctor gave her some medication to, uh, hold off the labor.

Claudia: You were there for that?

Johnny: Yeah, I was there with her when the contractions started and--well, I don't know, she was--it doesn't matter. The point is, I saw firsthand what it must be like to hold a baby inside of you, and at the same time, worry and be afraid that you're gonna lose it. It made me think about the hell that you must have gone through when you lost your baby, and you're probably still going through it. I'm still furious with you, Claudia, and I'm still convinced that you did something to Olivia to force her to break up with me. But at the end of the day, you are my sister, and I love you. I could never hate you. I just wanted you to know that. Okay?

Claudia: I love you so much. And I thank you. I've missed you so much.

Dominic: I wasn't done with that.

Olivia: Answer my question. Are you going after Sonny on your own?

Dominic: No, I can't. I was raised to be responsible and obedient, and I've been kicked off the case.

Olivia: Yeah. Because your cover was blown.

Dominic: No, Claudia knows that I'm your son. She doesn't know that I'm a cop.

Olivia: Oh, please, God, don't do this. Honey, you got a chance here to walk away from this. You have a chance to stop risking your life every single second of every single day. Just be proud, be proud that you did this job to the best of your ability, okay? Take that back to Brooklyn with you. Just forget about Sonny. What are you doing? Don't shut down on me, honey. Tell me what you're thinking.

Dominic: I'm thinking about how hard it is for cops to actually win one. I'm thinking about how easy it is for the mobsters to make up the rules as they go and get away with literal murder. You know what else I'm thinking about? I'm thinking about the good guys who get caught in the crossfire and get mowed down on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Olivia: [Sighs] Vince Poletti.

Dominic: Lieutenant Poletti. The cop who lived down the street who reached out to a boy who didn't have a father and tried to fill that void. A good man who lived by a real code of honor and decency. Who was shot to death in the back of a liquor store.

Olivia: We don't know anything that happened that day.

Dominic: Well, I know that I lost someone irreplaceable in my life, and I know who took out that order.

Olivia: We don't know.

Dominic: Will you stop it, Ma! We all knew. It was Sonny!

Olivia: Is that why you're so single-minded about this?

Dominic: I'm thinking about all the Mr. Polettis of the world, all the boys who gotta grow up without a role model, all the wives who are now widows who they have nothing left of the man that they used to have as a husband but a folded flag and a rusting badge.

Olivia: Honey, honey, please, I get it. I get it. I do. But this is out of your hands now. They took you off the case. Okay? So just forget about Sonny, for God sakes forget about Claudia. Get out of this town, please, before something terrible happens.

Dominic: [Sighs] I love you, Ma.

[Door opens]

Alexis: [Groans] Oh. What time is it?

Kristina: Early.

Alexis: Yeah? Hmm. I fell asleep reading this, I'm so tired.

Kristina: Why don't you go to bed and I'll lock up the house.

Alexis: Hey. Come here. Talk to your mommy for a little bit, huh? Mm, is the school project going?

Kristina: Good.

Alexis: Yeah? You know, I think it's a good choice that you're doing your project on reproductive control, birth control, choice. It's all really interesting.

Kristina: The more I get into it, the more I realize how important.

Alexis: Yeah, you know, there's some girls that would study birth control by experimenting with it. I'm glad you're doing it this way. I'm proud of you.

Kristina: Eye on the prize.

Alexis: Yeah.

Kristina: Um, I'm really tired, so I should--

Alexis: Oh, one more thing. You'll find this interesting. A little incident with your sister--

Kristina: Which one?

Alexis: Well, both, actually. Molly walked in on Sam and Jason...

Kristina: Molly saw Sam having sex?

Alexis: Well, Molly says yes, Sam says no. I think it's somewhere in the middle. She must have been pretty confused. You's, uh, it's an opportunity to just remind you that Sam is significantly older than you, you know. She's had a--a very interesting life experience. And--she's still your sister, she's not your mom. I'm the mom. So, if you have anything that you want to talk about--you girls have a lot to figure out at this point in your lives and--come to me, okay? Please. And that way, we'll avoid any confusing messages from Sam.

Sam: Well, there's a part of me that can stand back and see it from Alexis' point of view and gets it. My career path went from con artist to P.I. My personal path...[Sighs] from man to man... and I have spent pretty much most of my life with low self-esteem. I mean... I agree with Alexis. If I were her, I would not want Kristina and Molly to make the same mistakes that I have.

Jason: Yeah, right. But that's not a good enough reason to keep you away from your sisters.

Sam: Really? Because Alexis doesn't even know that I took Kristina to the women's clinic to get contraceptives.

Jason: Okay. If you hadn't, is Kristina still gonna have sex?

Sam: Well, yeah, of course she is. She's gonna do whatever it is that she wants to do.

Jason: All right, so it's better that she's protected.

Sam: I know that, but Alexis isn't gonna see it that way.

Jason: You can't let Alexis tell you how you feel. I know that you love your sisters. I've seen it. You are not bad for them; you are good for them, Sam.

Sam: God, Jason... I really needed to hear that.

Lulu: Déja vu. [Laughs]

Dominic: Well, it must be my lucky night. Hey. Thanks for before, by the way. I, uh, I felt a lot better after talking with you.

Lulu: Oh, right, yeah, I can see that. That's why you're still here in the same spot, same pensive look on your face.

Dominic: All right, you really want to know? Uh, I'm sort of in a delicate situation right now. [Laughs] I shouldn't even be telling anybody, least of all you.

Lulu: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! What do you mean, least of all me? Why?

Dominic: Well, I could probably blow my chances with you clean out of the water.

Lulu: Oh, that's fine. You know, I can fix that, I mean, you don't have a chance with me, so you can tell me.

Dominic: You keep doing that. It just keeps me interested.

Lulu: Oh, my God. If you have nothing of substance to say, I have to go away.

Dominic: All right. The boss' wife wants to jump my bones.

Lulu: Claudia? Gross!

Dominic: Yeah. That's, uh, that's not even the worst of it.

Sam: I kind of think it's ironic that my mother sleeps with a psycho like Jerry Jacks and then wants to lecture me on the likes of a guy like you.

Jason: Alexis might have a point with that one.

Sam: Okay. I mean, I--in a mother's mind I can see wanting a little... hey. At least you have a good heart. Okay?

Sam: Hang on a minute.

Jason: What are you--what--

Sam: Hold that thought. Hold on. Hello! Anybody here? Come out, come out, wherever you are.

Jason: I don't know who's gonna be in there.

Sam: You--aah! [Laughing]

Kelly: Hi.

Jax: Hi.

Carly: We've been reading to the baby. I think it's calmed her down. Am I right?

Kelly: Labor's stopped.

Carly: Yes.

Kelly: Last I checked, you were only 2 centimeters dilated.

Carly: Okay, so...what happens next?

Kelly: I want to keep you overnight. If the labor doesn't start again and you don't dilate any further, I'll send you home. We'll hope you carry to term.

Carly: What do you mean, hope?

Kelly: I don't want to dampen your relief, but I have to be straight with you. You and the baby aren't home free. Avoid stress like the plague, or premature labor could start again at any time.

Claudia: You don't even know. I'd just about given up hope, you know, that we were ever gonna be close again, John, and it hurt me. That hurt me so much.

Johnny: I missed you, too, Claudia. But that doesn't mean I'm okay with what you did to Olivia.

Claudia: Can we please not talk about her?

Johnny: No, Claudia, she's important to me. Okay? Like it or not. And so tell me, what the hell did you do to her to get her to break up with me?

Claudia: I didn't! Wait, I didn't. But if I did, Johnny, she is an adult woman. Freedom of choice. She could have told me to go pound sand. Instead she broke up with you. That should tell you something about her.

Johnny: Okay. But I wanted to be with her. And that wasn't gonna change anything between us.

Claudia: You know what, John? I'm not gonna pretend that I'm sorry that you guys aren't together.

Johnny: I was happy, Claudia, and ever since we were kids, you've always said that you wanted that for me.

Claudia: But she doesn't deserve you.

Johnny: Deserve. What the hell does that even mean, huh? I love her.

Claudia: No. You think you do. I know. What you feel for her is infatuation. Johnny, you love me, and I love you, and that's the way that it's always been, and that's the way that it's always gonna be.

Lulu: Well, you're not--you're not considering sleeping with Claudia, are you?

Dominic: Oh, why not? I mean, because her husband will shoot me dead?

Lulu: Yeah, that, and she's seriously nasty. What was the part that it gets much worse than that?

Dominic: Claudia wants to get pregnant, Sonny doesn't. I'm sure you can connect the dots.

Lulu: Run fast now.

Dominic: It's not that easy. I'm pretty...entangled in Sonny's organization.

Lulu: Yeah, you want Sonny to avenge Mr. Poletti's death.

Dominic: Yeah. Something like that.

Lulu: But having sex with Claudia and, like, possibly getting her pregnant, I mean, that's a little extreme.

Dominic: Yeah. I mean, I definitely got some decisions to make.

Lulu: Or one big fat compromise. And when you make one like that, there's no coming back. Not ever.
