[Moonlight Sonata playing]

Andrea: To your health... Edward.

Edward: And to yours.

[Moonlight Sonata continues]

Edward: I'm on my way to the carnival now.

Olivia: Are we picking her kids up, or are they going to meet us at the carnival?

[Moonlight Sonata continues]

Dominic: Since I've sacrificed my dignity in the name of charity, what say you and me

Lulu: Ah, I'm sorry, but fate deals you another blow. I already have a date, and it's not you.

[Moonlight Sonata continues]

Jason: Wait. I was just thinking now that, you know, the case is closed, that maybe you might like to go to the carnival.

[Moonlight Sonata continues]

[No audio]

[Monitor beeping]

Jason: Whoever did this to Jake... will not get away with it.

Rebecca: You can't leave me now, Grandfather. Come on. I still owe you ten grand, remember? And if you aren't better by the time Monica and Tracy get here, then I'm never going to hear the end of it. So, please, just make it through the surgery. A lot of people love you... including me.

Olivia: So how long is the test going to take?

Patrick: We'll put a rush on it, but we really need to contact his family.

Sonny: I'll handle that.

Patrick: When you do get a hold of his mother, tell her he's going to need a kidney transplant.

Olivia: Okay, I can handle finding his mother.

Sonny: What are you talking about? He saved Morgan's life. I've talked to him a little bit. He seemed very close to his mother.

Olivia: I said that I will handle it.

Sonny: Do you have a problem with me looking for Dominic's mother?

[Indistinct chatter]

[Truck beeping]

Claudia: Kristina?

[Police radio]

Claudia: Kristina! Kristina? Kristina? Krissie!

Michael: Have they found Kristina yet?

Claudia: No, not yet.

[Rebecca sighs]

Ethan: I can stay or I can go. Whatever you need.

Rebecca: Ahh. Just...stay.

Sam: Inconclusive test results are not always a bad thing. I mean, if it were a fractured skull, they would say fractured skull. So maybe, I don't know, it's a concussion or something less.

Jason: I just need to know that he's going to be okay.

Lulu: How's Jake?

Jason: Oh, our doctor says all we can do is wait.

Lulu: I'm so sorry. It must be awful knowing that Edward was driving that car.

Jason: Wha--my grandfather?

Sam: What happened?

Lulu: He had a heart attack. That's what I heard. I mean, all I know is that he was driving and then he's in emergency surgery.

Sam: Okay, that's terrible. That's terrible. Does your grandfather know that Jake is your son? Okay. All right, maybe that's a good thing. Because I don't think he would be able to handle it if he knew that he hurt his great-grandson.

Elizabeth: Jakey, I know you can do this. You're such a brave little boy. Mommy and Daddy are right here, and we love you so much. [Kiss]

Claudia: They're still looking for her. It's a mess, Michael.

Michael: She was on the ride when the car hit.

Claudia: I know.

Michael: She's got to be in there somewhere! I mean, she's got to be under--

Claudia: She was laughing. She was having a great time. And then I saw this car, it just crashed into us. It completely took me by surprise.

Claudia: It was an accident. I had no idea that you would be there. I swear to you, Michael. I didn't want you to get hurt. Accidents are like that. Everything that you thought that you had can just be gone in an instant, just gone. I'm sorry, Michael, I'm sorry.

Michael: My sister is not dead. I'm going to find her.

Patrick: You suffered some very serious injuries. If you continue to lose blood, you could go into renal failure.

Dominic: That sounds ominous.

Patrick: Your kidneys will shut down. You may require surgery, kidney transplant. I asked somebody to contact your mother.

Dominic: Not Sonny. Not my ma.

Patrick: Dominic, if you need a transplant, family's the best option, right?

Dominic: Would you just let it go?

Olivia: Sonny, wait, wait, Sonny. What if his mother doesn't know that he's in the business?

Sonny: She'll be upset, but at least she'll be able to help her son. Bernie, listen. Call me as soon as you get this. I need the contact information on Dominic Pirelli. Right, thanks.

Alexis: Did they bring Kristina in yet?

Sonny: You don't know where Kristina is?

Alexis: Claudia said she's trapped on one of the rides and they can't get to her.

Sonny: Okay, do me a favor. Tell Patrick that I had to leave; one of my kids is in trouble.

Lucky: Hey. Okay, Jake's got a mild concussion and some bruises, but outside of that, he's good.

Jason: What about internally?

Lucky: So far, so good. They're going to run some more tests and keep him overnight, just to be sure.

Sam: Ah, that sounds like a good idea.

Lucky: Yeah, it could have been a lot worse. Anyway, I just-- I just thought you should know.

Jason: Thanks.

Sam: Thank you, Lucky.

Lulu: I'm going to tell everyone that Jake is okay.

Sam: Oh, good, thank you.

Jason: [Sighs]

Rebecca: I think you saved Edward's life today.

Ethan: I just pulled him out of the car, that's all.

Rebecca: You were the first one there. You convinced Nikolas to help you carry Edward through the crowd. And that got him to the E.R. much faster. When you're having a heart attack, every second counts.

Ethan: What kind of reward do you think I'm in for?

Rebecca: That's not why you did it. I'm not sure how any of this happened.

Ethan: What, you mean how you got in so deep with these people? Neither do I.

Rebecca: No, that's not what I meant. Grandfather... had a complete cardiac work-up. I mean, he was going on and on about how healthy he is and how strong his heart is. Even Monica said he was in great shape. So why did he have a heart attack?

[Monitor beeping]

[Door opens]

Louise: Sorry to intrude. Has there been any change?

Milo: He's still out. You can stay if you want.

Louise: Thanks. I hardly know your brother. We met at a Dunk-a-Hunk, and...he bought me a stuffed snake, and then he saved my life. How do you thank someone for that?

Milo: Hmm.

Max: What happened?

Milo: Take it easy, Max. You're in the hospital.

Max: Milo, what are you doing here?

Milo: Louise called me.

Max: Louise? That car... you all right?

Louise: Yeah. I am, thanks to you.

Sam: Do you need anything? I mean, I can go get you some coffee, whatever you need. Let me know.

Jason: No, I'm fine. I just don't know what I'm supposed to do. I mean, do I stay here at the hospital? I'm not hurt, I'm not helping anybody. I know Jake's okay.

Sam: Edward's not.

Jason: He doesn't even know he almost killed his own great-grandson. I mean, not that it matters. He still drove his car through that crowd of people, collapsed a tent on a kid. I mean, do you think he'd feel any less guilty knowing that he doesn't know the kid is a relative?

Sam: I don't--I'm really not sure what you're asking me.

Jason: I just want to know why it happened.

Sam: Lulu told you why it happened. He had a heart attack.

Jason: Yeah, was it before or after he hit the midway? Was he drunk or not? Because before I found out it was Edward, I wanted to kill that person who was driving that car. And now it's Edward. And what if he was drunk, what if it was his fault? [Sighs] I just, uh... I feel sorry for him. I mean, he's lost so much already.

Sonny: Where's Kristina?

Claudia: The rescue workers are still looking for her.

Sonny: Listen, what ride were you on?

Claudia: We were on the Kite Flyer. Molly, Kristina and I were all on the Kite Flyer. When the car hit, the safety bars were already down, and we couldn't get out. I pulled Molly out. I don't even know how I found her. It was chaos. And then we got clear of the ride, and I turned around, looking for Kristina. She wasn't there. And we tried to go back in to get her, and the rescue workers wouldn't let us because one of the vendors got electrocuted trying to find survivors. Michael is trying--

Sonny: Michael went back in there?

Claudia: He's trying to go back inside.

Sonny: Okay, I gotta find my kids.

Alexis: Okay.

Michael: Kristina! Kristina, answer me! Kristina?

Alexis: Claudia, I can't thank you enough for getting Molly off that ride.

Molly: Mom, I was calling for Kristina and she didn't answer me. I think she must be hurt really bad!

Sonny: You know what, I feel like I need to do something.

Alexis: They won't let you--

Michael: She's okay. They're bringing her in right now.

Alexis: Where did they find her? Kristina! Oh, my God!

Molly: Kristina!

Alexis: Honey! Sweetie, are you okay?

Kristina: I'm okay, Mom. Molly, are you okay?

Molly: I'm fine! Kristina, I was so scared for you! Why didn't you answer me?

Kristina: I think... I must have blacked out. When I woke up, I was stuck under a piece of the ride, and Michael was calling for me.

Alexis: Michael found you?

Kristina: He brought the rescue workers to come get me out.

Sonny: How are you feeling, sweetheart?

Kristina: Happy to be safe. I can't believe you're here.

Sonny: Where else would I be? You're my daughter. I love you.

Kristina: I love you, too, Dad.

Lulu: Nikolas, I'm so glad I ran into you. Jake is going to be fine.

Nikolas: What do you mean? I didn't know he was hurt.

Lulu: Jake ran into the prize tent just before it collapsed. They thought he had a skull fracture, but it's okay.

Nikolas: Is he still here in the hospital?

Lulu: Yeah, the doctors want to monitor him overnight, make sure he's okay.

Nikolas: How's Elizabeth?

Lulu: Elizabeth and Lucky are fine. They're with him right now. They're just really relieved.

Nikolas: All right, thanks. I'm gonna go see if they need anything.

Lulu: Yeah.

Sam: I don't know if you remember, but I did work for your grandfather for, like, a hot second.

Jason: Yeah, that's right, you did.

Sam: I did. And guess what, he was a master manipulator. We were together at the time, and the only reason why he kept me around, clearly, is 'cause he wanted to continue to have contact with you. We talked about you all the time.

Jason: I don't really remember that part.

Sam: [Sighs] Well, I remember. And more than anything, your grandfather was just, he was really proud of you. And he misses you. He wishes that you guys were closer.

Jason: [Sighs] I just don't know how to feel about Edward. I mean, in the beginning it was so clean and easy for me because he wanted to control me. And, of course, I had to fight against him. I had to. I didn't want his legacy. I never believed him when he said he loved me. He didn't need me, he had the others to control. He had Alan and Justice and A.J., and he had my grandmother and he had Emily to love. And now everybody's gone.

Sam: I think Edward needs you. And you need him, too.

Jason: It's times like these I... think about the secret that I'm keeping. And I know how much it would mean to Edward if he knew he had a great-grandson. I don't even know why I'm talking like this. I'll never tell anybody that Jake is my son. It's just kind of crazy that they both could have died tonight. Connected through me, and neither one knows it.

Sam: You know it. And I think that's why you stayed in the hospital tonight, to be here for Edward and your son. It matters that you're here.

Jason: Thank you.

Sam: [Scoffs] I'd say "you're welcome," but I really didn't do anything.

Jason: Yeah, you did.

[Monitor beeping]

Dominic: [Inhales]

Dominic: Hi, Mom.

Olivia: I'm right here, baby. I'm right here.

Dominic: You gotta get the hell out of here.

Olivia: Don't make me smack you, honey.

Dominic: You will blow my cover.

Olivia: I don't care about your cover. You almost got killed today.

Dominic: Well, I couldn't let a kid get run over.

Olivia: I know. I'm so proud of you, baby.

Dominic: I, uh-- the doc said I might need a transplant or something.

Olivia: I know. I know. I know.

Dominic: You know, we gotta find Ronnie, and call Gorski, get me the hell out of here.

Olivia: Oh, no, no. You're too badly hurt. They can't move you right now. Okay?

Dominic: If anybody finds out, I'm dead.

Olivia: Look, right now, we just need to focus on getting you well, all right? And if I have to, I will tell the doctors that Dominic Pirelli does not exist. That you're my son, Dante.

Elizabeth: Hey,

Elizabeth: Can you let me know if he wakes up?

Nurse: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Thank you.

Lucky: Hey.

Elizabeth: Hey, thank you. He's sound asleep. We sure do have a resilient little boy.

Lucky: You know, when I saw that car hit the tent, I don't know what we would have done if we would have lost Jake.

Elizabeth: But we didn't. We're not going to lose anything. You told me to have faith that he'd be okay, and he is.

Lucky: [Exhales] You're the strongest person I know.

Elizabeth: Oh.

Lucky: Someone I always know I can count on. And so can the boys.

Elizabeth: I'm just so grateful Cameron went home early with the Goodsons.

Lucky: Should I call them?

Elizabeth: No, no, no, he's already going to spend the night over there, and I'll just get him tomorrow.

Lucky: Okay. Are you going to stay here tonight?

Elizabeth: Yeah, I wouldn't be anywhere else.

Lucky: Well, Mac's probably going to need all the help he can get.

Elizabeth: Okay. Well, go. I'll let you know if there's any change.

Lucky: And you sure you're all right?

Elizabeth: Yeah, I'll be fine. And they'll run some more tests on Jake, and he's going to be fine, too.

Lucky: [Sighs] I just want you to know I'm grateful. To you. And the boys. I just feel like we've become the family that I've always dreamed about having. You're just amazing. I'm just really glad you're in my life.

Elizabeth: Same here.

Lucky: I'm going to say good night to Jake.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Jason: Is Edward Quartermaine still in surgery?

Epiphany: Yes. We tried to find his immediate family and no one could contact you, so--

Jason: No, no, no, it's okay. I understand that he needed surgery. I'd just like to check up on him.

Epiphany: Well, I will let you know when he's back in his room.

Jason: Okay, thanks.

Claudia: Are you okay?

Michael: Yeah, I'm good.

Claudia: Are you sure? 'Cause... I don't know, you're staring at me. You're a real hero, you know that? For saving your sister, not that you need me to tell you that.

Michael: I was lucky, I guess, you know? It was crazy, with all the wreckage, and, you know. I mean, you must have walked right past Krissie.

Claudia: Me and all the rescue workers. I guess she was passed out.

Michael: Kristina was awake when I found her.

Jason: Hey, how's Kristina?

Sonny: She's got an x-ray. She's doing fine. Edward driving the car, how did that happen?

Jason: I have no idea. They think maybe a heart attack, but he's still in surgery.

Sonny: You have any idea how many people were hurt?

Jason: No, I haven't heard. You know, Jake was in the tent when it collapsed.

Sonny: Is he all right?

Jason: They thought that he had a skull fracture, but now they think that he's going to be okay.

Sonny: That's great news.

Jason: Yeah, thank you. What happened to Kristina?

Sonny: Okay, well, she was in the ride that got hit. She got stuck in the wreckage. She's all right. Um, very close call for her and Morgan.

Jason: Where is Morgan?

Sonny: Carly took him home. He was in the midway. Car was coming straight at him. He froze and panicked. Dominic shoved him out of the way. Got hit.

Jason: How's Dominic?

Sonny: Internal bleeding. Looks like he may need a kidney transplant. This is just crazy.

Jason: I'm sorry to hear about that.

Sonny: Well, I got Bernie tracking down his parents. And I'm going to have to be the one to talk to them. That's the last thing any parent wants to hear.

Dominic: You cannot tell anyone that I'm your son.

Olivia: Honey, everybody's got parents. You know, Sonny's already got Bernie out looking for yours. You don't think he's going to be a little bit suspicious when he can't find anything?

Dominic: Well, you have to find a way to stall Sonny.

Olivia: I'm not stalling Sonny while you're laying in here dying.

Dominic: If he finds out I've been lying to him, I'll be dead a hell of a lot sooner.

Olivia: Don't say that. Don't even say those words to me, honey.

Dominic: If my cover's blown, this whole thing is over, Ma. You keep him quiet is my only chance at that.

Olivia: You got a lot of relatives. You got aunts, you got uncles, you got about a million cousins. If you need a transplant, there is a really good chance that we could find you one.

Dominic: There is no way the family will keep quiet about this.

Olivia: If you need a kidney, you're going to get a kidney. I don't care about your cover. I don't care about your case, okay? That's the end of the discussion.

Sonny: Okay, look. How about this? Promise not to tell anyone that I'm your son, at least until we find out if I need this transplant.

Olivia: I'm not making any deals.

Dominic: [Sighs]

Olivia: I will promise you this-- I'm not going to let you die.

Rebecca: I didn't see Edward before the crash. I was with Nikolas and Spencer Cassadine at the carnival. Um, I brought Spencer in a little early and Nikolas had a conference call.

Mac: So you didn't go to the carnival kick-off party at the Metro restaurant?

Rebecca: No, we went straight to the carnival.

Ethan: Why are you interrogating her? She has nothing to do with anything.

Mac: Did you see Edward at all before the carnival?

Rebecca: Yeah, we had breakfast this morning and he seemed perfectly healthy.

Mac: Has Edward been under a lot of stress at the house?

Rebecca: They're Quartermaines, they're always under stress.

Ethan: Look, Edward had a heart attack behind the wheel of a car, okay? It was a terrible accident. Now why are you trying to turn this into something else?

Mac: There's no question Edward had a heart attack. The only question is whether he was drunk when he had it. And if he was, Edward's in serious trouble.

Robin: [Sighs] Can I see Mrs. Floyd's effects?

Attendant: Oh, right here.

Robin: Thank you.

Attendant: Yeah, you're welcome. There you go.

Robin: [Exhales]

Attendant: What's that?

Robin: Digitalis. A drug that can stop your heart with a toxic dose.

Olivia: [Inhales]

Olivia: Hey, God. It's me. Again. Praying for my son. I know, it seems like we've been having this conversation forever, right? But I just don't know what to do. Every choice that I have... puts my son in danger. But if I do nothing, he could-- he could die. Okay, so... so I am turning this over to you. And I am waiting to hear your still, small voice in my heart. And I know you're going to send me a sign.

[Monitor beeping]

[Dominic groans]

Lulu: You're the big hero, you know that?

Dominic: Is that, uh, does that mean you're gonna go out with me?

Lulu: [Scoffs] I think heroes are overrated.

Dominic: Look at all my pain and suffering.

Lulu: I don't date guys that I feel sorry for. But I did want to thank you for saving my cousin Morgan.

Dominic: I just did what anyone else would have done, right? That's the modest approach. Is it working?

Lulu: [Chuckles] Maybe a little.

Dominic: That's good.

Dominic: Hmm. It's okay. I'm actually a really quick healer. I'll be out of here in a couple of days.

Lulu: I'll tell you what-- the day that you walk out of this hospital, I'll go out with you. Anywhere you want.

Dominic: It's a date.

Jason: How is he?

Rebecca: Um, the surgery went well. I hope I wasn't out of line to authorize it. He just couldn't afford to wait.

Jason: No, I'm glad you were here.

Rebecca: Yeah. Um, Monica and Tracy are on their way back. Have you spoken to the police yet?

Jason: Not yet.

Rebecca: They've been asking a lot of questions about drunk driving.

Jason: [Sighs] I mean, the family has had problems with alcohol.

Rebecca: Yeah, but even if he had a couple of drinks, there's no way that he could have been drunk enough to drive straight down the carnival midway, Jason. I mean, I don't know, maybe the accelerator got stuck or the transmission went into overdrive and the brakes went out. I don't know. But it had to have been something major to cause that much damage and to hurt that many people.

Jason: Just let me know when he wakes up.

Rebecca: Yeah. Listen, you're welcome to stay. I'm sure he would much rather see you than me.

Jason: No, I doubt that. But I will be around if he needs me, or if you need anything.

Rebecca: Okay, um, is it all right if I tell him you were here?

Jason: Yeah. I mean, if you think it will help.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Rebecca: Hey, grandfather. Hey, listen. I can't believe you're already awake. I'm going to call the doctor, okay?

Edward: What have I done?

Robin: Oh, hey, Sonny. I just checked on Kristina. She's okay. She's reading a magazine, waiting for her x-ray.

Sonny: Oh, thank you. That's great.

Robin: You're welcome.

Sonny: All right.

Robin: Epiphany, do you have Edward Quartermaine's blood work back yet?

Epiphany: This information has finally come through, but it is confidential. I've been getting calls about it all night from the reporters.

Robin: Okay, well, I'm a doctor consulting on this case; I need to look at it.

Epiphany: I'm not supposed to release this file without permission. However, if I should turn my back and a doctor chooses to pick it up, there's not much I can do about that.

Robin: That is right.

Michael: So are you really okay?

Kristina: The x-rays show that it was just a sprained wrist.

Michael: [Sighs]

Kristina: It's weird that you had a bad feeling about the carnival and things turned out this way.

Michael: Just a coincidence.

Kristina: Come on, Michael. That fortune teller knew something bad was going to happen.

Michael: I mean, she kept everything so general. How could she be wrong?

Kristina: However it happened, I owe you big time. I was afraid I was never going to get out of that ride.

Michael: [Sighs] All kinds of people were looking for you.

Kristina: Somebody found me, too.

Michael: You mean before I did?

Kristina: I woke up just as she was walking away.

Michael: It was a woman?

Kristina: Definitely. I got a good look at her shoes.

Elizabeth: Mommy will be right back, okay? Thank you. [Sighs] Nikolas!

Nikolas: I'm sorry. I just heard. I just heard.

Elizabeth: Jake's going to be okay. I'm so glad you're here.

Nikolas: Everything will be... be okay.

Edward: I heard you talking to Jason.

Rebecca: Yeah. I'll call him.

Edward: No. You tell me what happened.

Rebecca: Look, you need to rest, okay?

Ethan: Ah, you're awake. Welcome back. Coffee?

Rebecca: No.

Edward: One of you grifters had better start talking now.

Mac: Can I come in?

Rebecca: Grandfather just woke up. He hasn't even seen the doctor yet. He's really not ready to answer questions, okay?

Edward: Mac? Tell me what happened.

Ethan: I'll call your lawyer.

Edward: What the hell would I need a lawyer for?

Mac: Edward, I'd like to ask you some questions. If it's too much, let me know.

Edward: I'm not saying a damn word until I find out what's going on.

Mac: You ran your car through the carnival from the entrance to the Ferris wheel at the end of the midway.

Edward: Did anybody get hurt?

Mac: A lot of people. Rescue teams are still out there. There are some fatalities.

Edward: Because of me?

Mac: You drove from the carnival kick-off party, right?

Rebecca: You really don't have to answer that.

Edward: Well, I wasn't drunk, if that's what you're thinking. I had one lousy martini.

Mac: Are you sure about that?

Edward: Hell, I didn't even want to go to the damn party.

Mac: Why not?

Ethan: You don't need to answer any more of these questions.

Edward: Now look what I've done.

Mac: Edward, I will make sure that you have counsel present when I take your statement. I'm sorry to say that, uh, if alcohol was involved in this accident, you could be facing criminal charges.

Robin: Edward wasn't drunk. Someone was trying to kill him.

Molly: There she is.

Alexis: Oh! All right, so, what'd they say?

Kristina: It's just a sprained wrist.

Sonny: Okay, come over here, girls. Next time we spend an evening together, it's going to be fun. It's not going to be like this.

Kristina: Looking forward to it.

Sonny: All right. And you know what I'm going to teach you? I'm going to teach you how to make lasagna. You like lasagna?

Molly: That sounds wonderful.

Sonny: All right. I'm gonna go see Dominic. You go home.

Michael: All right, let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Sonny: I'm proud of you. You found your sister. Okay.

[Elevator dings]

Alexis: Thank you for everything you did for Molly today.

Claudia: I wish I could have done more.

Kristina: Thanks again, Claudia.

Claudia: Sure.

Patrick: How are you feeling?

Dominic: [Groans] The same. But I'm really not interested in trading out my kidneys.

Patrick: Well, trust me, Dominic, I don't want to do that, either. But I do want to keep everyone updated. Which means your mother's going to have to tell your father about you.

Dominic: Well, sorry to disappoint you, Doc, but my mother is at home in Brooklyn, and she can't even tell you who my father is.

Sonny: Sister Angela would have been proud of both of us, praying. What's wrong? You been crying?

Olivia: I asked God for a sign, and I got one. Now I know exactly what I need to do.
