Patrick: I'm recommending post-operative electrical calf muscle stimulation.

Robin: Okay, I'm suggesting dextran infusions every other day for a week.

Epiphany: Late night, doctors?

Patrick: Obviously, you haven't heard. We have a very active, very engaged baby.

Robin: She's a budding night owl. She doesn't cry or anything, she just wants to hang out with us.

Patrick: Yeah, even when we're poring over autopsy reports.

Epiphany: I will never understand you doctors. Autopsy reports? Is this your idea of a little late night reading?

Robin: It was time well spent.

Patrick: Yeah. And the autopsy in question concerns Brianna Hughes.

Epiphany: Hmm.

Robin: We may have found a lead.

Patrick: Yeah, something that proves that she didn't die because of any negligence on Matt's part.

Epiphany: Oh, well, that'll help him. Well, what do you guys think was the cause of death?

Robin: In our opinion, murder.

Epiphany: Uh -- mayor's wife, 3:00.

Andrea: Dr. Drake, I've been looking for you.

Patrick: Yeah, I don't think we should talk without our lawyers present.

Andrea: I can't wait for that. I have a confession to make.

Kristina: I like the impulse, but your timing's off. Can't bond with big sis right now. Friends and the beach await.

Sam: You can leave if you want to, I'll just -- I'll wait for Alexis to get back here and I'll tell her everything I know. Or you can stay and convince me why I shouldn't.

Michael: The guy grabs Morgan and I help Mom to take him down.

Jason: Okay, no, no, start from the beginning. What guy grabbed Morgan?

Michael: Some Zacchara soldier. He was messed up, desperate -- wounded, too.

Jason: Can you tell me what he looks like?

Michael: Uh, I mean, I can do better than that. I can help you find him. We'll take care of this guy together.

[Dominic groans]

Dominic: Sorry, I -- I started without you.

Claudia: Whatever happened to competent shooters?

Dominic: Oh, well, they went the way of the well-planned ambush. You couldn't have botched this up worse if you tried. You didn't have to whack me to get my attention.

Claudia: Would you just shut up for a minute so I can think?

[Dominic scoffs]

Dominic: You should've done a little more of that before this all went wrong.

Dominic: What are you trying to do, shut me up or kill me?

Claudia: Whichever comes first.

Kristina: I know what this is about -- Jason, right? You've been talking to him and he's blown everything out of proportion.

Sam: Really? So then you weren't driving Alexis' car?

Kristina: Well, yes, but it --

Sam: You are 16 years old. You only have a learner's permit.

Kristina: I realize technically I broke a rule, but it was for a good cause. Michael really needed help.

Sam: Then he should've called his parents.

Kristina: Michael's having a hard time getting re-acclimated --

Sam: No, no, no, stop. I really don't care about Michael's problems right now. I have my own sister to worry about. You stole your mother's car.

Kristina: That's a little harsh.

Sam: Did you ask permission to use it?

Kristina: No.

Sam: No. Then you stole it. And Jason told me he saw you drinking at a club.

Kristina: I wasn't drinking. And the only reason I was there was because a friend of mine was about to make a big mistake.

Sam: Uh, so wait a minute. Now you're, what, everybody's guardian angel?

Kristina: Can I help it if I'm everybody's rational one?

Sam: Do you want me to tell you what I think?

Kristina: Do I have a choice?

Sam: I think you're crying out for attention. And guess what? It's time for me to make sure attention gets paid. Now, sit.

Kristina: Come on, Sam, give me a break. Okay, I've done a couple of dumb things -- in the service of others, I might add -- but doesn't the rest of my record count for anything? I get straight A’s, activities for days. I don't drink or do drugs and --

Sam: Ugh!

Kristina: I could use a little less attention if you want to know the truth. Please try to remember when you were my age.

Sam: Oh, you know what? I don't think my memory stretches that far back. And really, I don't -- I don't know if you necessarily want it to, because it may backfire and I might come down on you a whole lot harder.

Alexis: If you're lecturing your sister on the trouble she just got into at Jake’s, I wholeheartedly agree.

Sam: No, actually, I didn't know about that. Please, Kristina, by all means, fill me in.

Michael: So Morgan decided to follow me to Dad's. You know that path through the woods?

Jason: Yeah.

Michael: That's how we get back and forth. Anyway, this Zacchara guy grabs him.

Jason: Okay, you said he was wounded.

Michael: No, shot. By that time, Mom and I were coming in from different directions looking for Morgan, and she got there first. When I walked up, she was struggling with this creep and he didn't even see it coming.

Jason: Okay, why did you and Carly go tracking through the woods? Why didn't you call me or Sonny or Max or Milo -- somebody?

Michael: Who knew something was going down with the Zacchara faction? It was an ordinary night. We just wanted to make sure that Morgan wasn't getting lost. Anyway, you're missing the point.

Jason: Okay, what's the point?

Michael: Mom let the guy go. She told him that if he didn't hurt us, we wouldn't tell anyone we saw him, but the guy looked pretty messed up. I mean, I don't think he could get too far. We can still find him.

Jason: No, I'm going -- I'm going to find him.

Jason: Okay, look, I know that you're angry that this guy scared your mother and your brother and that you want to protect --

Michael: What I want is to prove myself.

Claudia: Do you have any idea the risk that I'm taking hiding you here in Sonny's house? I mean, come on.

Dominic: What, are you worried I'll bleed on the oriental?

Claudia: It never occurred to you, not one time, Dominic, to mention that you might have been seen in the area?

Dominic: Oh, there's no way that bear will make a positive I.D.

Claudia: You're a funny guy, you know that? I wonder how funny my husband's going to think it is when he finds you up here in my bed.

Dominic: His ex thinks I'm a riot.

Claudia: What happened exactly in the woods? Would you tell me, please?

Dominic: Well, I was shot, bitten, tackled, and then nearly brained with a flashlight. Can you get a merit badge for any of that? That wise-ass little kid told me I was no boy scout. I'll show him.

Claudia: That was Morgan. Michael's his older brother and Carly is their mother.

Dominic: Oh, she is hot. She seeing anyone?

Claudia: What -- do you have a death wish? Give me one reason why I shouldn't go downstairs right now and call the guards to come in here and take your ass out.

Dominic: Because I'll take you down with me.

Andrea: This is not easy for me to admit, so I'm just going to rip off the Band-Aid and get on with it. I hired a private investigator to follow my husband. I suspected the affair with Brianna Hughes. I needed some proof.

Patrick: I'm sure that was a very difficult decision for you. I'm just not sure why you're sharing that with us.

Andrea: Well, the P.I. that I hired, Sam McCall, was following Garrett the day of Brianna's unfortunate accident. I'm just afraid if this lawsuit gains traction, then Ms. McCall comes forward, this whole thing will just blow up. My husband is up for re-election. There is no way he would survive this kind of scandal.

Robin: That's very generous of you. I mean, most women would say it's what he deserved.

Andrea: My husband and I are partners. I had my own ambition once upon a time, but I gave it all up to back my husband's political advancement. His goals were my goals. His career, mine. If this incident derails Garrett’s trajectory -- well, you get the picture. So I am begging you, please, settle this lawsuit out of court as quickly and as quietly as possible.

Patrick: Well, at the risk of sounding unsympathetic, I'm more concerned with my career and my brother's than I am yours and your husband's.

Matt: This is absurd! You're telling me that I can't access my own office?

Epiphany: Not until records removes all your files on Brianna Hughes.

Matt: Well, what do they think that I'm going to do? I'm going to change them?

Epiphany: I don't know what they're thinking, Dr. Hunter. I'm just following orders. All your records concerning Brianna Hughes' treatment and death have been subpoenaed by Diane Miller as part of her malpractice suit.

Matt: But this is outrageous! This is my office and they are my records.

Epiphany: Well, if you want to yell at someone, I suggest that you find a bigger name. In the meantime, this office -- your office -- remains locked until I am told otherwise by records.

Matt: Whatever.

Toussaint: Well, well, well, what do we have here? I'm sure you have a reasonable explanation for this.

Maxie: This?

Toussaint: Breaking and entering.

Maxie: Ahem. Well, if you want to be technical about it, I hadn't entered yet. And, yes, I have a completely reasonable explanation.

Toussaint: Can't wait to hear it.

Alexis: Michael decided to take a detour after physical therapy to Jake’s. And Kristina, showing not such good judgment, decided to go to Jake’s and talk him into leaving, and that's when I walked in.

Sam: Well, I am glad that Michael has someone he can trust.

Kristina: Dad and Carly mean well, but they can't relate. They really can't bring Michael up to speed on the year he missed.

Alexis: I think it's admirable that you have compassion for your brother, but sometimes you can be a -- a little too generous for your own good. Michael's situation is very complicated. He's not just struggling with the loss of time, but, Kristina, he's got brain damage and it's affecting his personality. I certainly hope he is in some kind of intensive therapy.

Kristina: He just needs a friend.

Alexis: You are his friend. But I don't think you understand how serious this is. Michael has poor impulse control, which means he could have an impulse to do something that's completely inappropriate, and I don't want him dragging you along for the ride. You have too much at stake.

Kristina: I know, Mom.

Alexis: It's good that you love your brother, just keep your eye on the prize.

Kristina: Focus, never let anything stand in the way of your goals.

Sam: Okay, all right. You know, what's -- what's done is done. Hopefully Kristina, now moving forward, won't repeat the same mistakes. No harm done.

Claudia: Don't threaten me, Dominic. I can bury you.

Dominic: Well, now, why would you want to do something like that? I mean, I'm so cute.

Claudia: You're reckless and you're psychotic and you're not real bright and --

Dominic: I think you're swell, too.

Claudia: You know what? Do you want to mouth off? That's fine. I'll just go get Max and Milo.

Dominic: Max and Milo, whoever they are, are loyal to Sonny. Don't you think you need someone who's loyal to you?

Claudia: I have all the friends I need.

[Dominic chuckles]

Dominic: As of last night, you have four less than you used to have.

Claudia: Jason Morgan was supposed to die in that ambush. Why didn't that happen?

Dominic: Ask your brother.

Claudia: What did John do?

Dominic: Oh, he shoved Morgan out of the line of fire.

Claudia: Oh.

Dominic: Saved Jason's life, did brother John. Real hero material. The question is, whose side is he on?

Jason: What you need to do right now is just focus on your recovery.

Michael: Finding a career is part of that. I want you to teach me the business.

Jason: No, that's not going to happen.

Michael: It's my heritage. Sonny Corinthos is my father.

Jason: That doesn't mean that you have to be like him or do what he does. Sonny doesn't want that.

Michael: But I do. I've thought about running things since I found out the coffee business was a front when I was, like, 10. Look, I'm not asking for special treatment. I'm willing -- I mean, I want to work my way up.

Jason: Did you not hear what I just said, Michael? You're not going down this road.

Michael: But it's not your choice, is it? At least, that's what you told me. "Choose for yourself, Michael." This is me taking your advice.

Jason: You don't have a realistic understanding of what it means to be in this business.

Michael: Are you kidding? Who understands better? I took a bullet in the head. I spent a year in a coma over this business.

Jason: That's why I'm not going to put you at that kind of risk again. This is not happening.

Michael: Wow. I never would've believed it, but you're just like the rest of them.

[Knock on door]

Robin: Open.

Patrick: Well, the assistant said to come right in, so --

Robin: I guess we wait. Anyway, it gives us a chance to perfect our presentation. So what are you going to say?

Patrick: Um, okay. So I think I'm just going to hit the mayor with the facts and walk through a re-creation of what we think really happened in the hotel room.

Robin: Then you think he's going to fall out on his knees, blurt out a confession?

Patrick: Well, no -- okay, well, then, um, I'll make the mayor think that we're on his side and that we're trying to reconcile his story with newly found evidence.

Robin: Then he'll say, "What evidence?"

Patrick: Whose side are you on here?

Robin: I just don't want to blow this.

Mayor Floyd: I have a full day scheduled and since you didn't bother to make an appointment, I'm afraid I don't have time.

Patrick: Yeah, you know, Mayor, this won't take a lot of time. We're just trying to get some questions answered about how Brianna really suffered those head injuries.

Robin: If you don't have time to talk to us, that's fine. I'll send my Uncle Mac over here and you can explain it to him.

Maxie: Now, see, I don't really know you, so opening up about my personal life would be kind of embarrassing.

Toussaint: Toussaint Dubois.

Maxie: Right. I'm -- I'm starting to remember. You know my friend Spinelli.

Toussaint: Hmm. Ah, the kid who shot himself in the foot, yeah.

Maxie: Yeah, good, see? We have mutual people.

Toussaint: But I still haven't heard why you're breaking into Dr. Hunter's office.

Maxie: Well, you see, that's kind of where my personal life gets involved. Dr. Hunter and I -- we're not exactly dating, but we hit each other up from time to time if you know what I mean, so I thought that I would surprise Matt and let myself into his office for a little mutual attraction.

Matt: Is there a problem?

Toussaint: Well, not for you. You seem to be a very lucky guy.

Maxie: Mr. Dubois caught me breaking into your office.

Toussaint: Toussaint.

Maxie: I'm Maxie.

Toussaint: Very nice to meet you, Maxie.

Matt: It appears that I don't have access to my office today due to some bureaucratic nonsense.

Toussaint: Well, that is correct, sir. Your office is off limits until certain records are removed.

Maxie: Well, I mean, it's Matt's office. Do you think you could break that silly little rule for him just once?

Toussaint: I'm afraid not.

Matt: Right, so we'll improvise. We'll just find an empty storage closet somewhere.

Maxie: Don't even think about it.

Claudia: If you wanted me dead, why didn't you just shoot me point-blank in the head?

Johnny: I got no idea what you're talking about.

Claudia: What I'm talking about, John?

Johnny: What the hell is wrong with you?

Claudia: Oh, you're going to play innocent? Really? Because I just talked to the sole survivor from last night's disaster. He told me Jason Morgan would be a corpse right now if you hadn't decided to be a hero and push him out of the way. What the hell were you thinking, John?

Johnny: I'm sorry, Claudia. What I was thinking is that it was a little more important for me in the moment to save my own ass than to let Jason Morgan get blown away. And you didn't even run it by me, did you? You just decided.

Claudia: I told you about it.

Johnny: You told me about it, Claudia, after you set a plan in motion that was destined to fail.

Claudia: You didn't have to be the reason, did you?

Johnny: Really? Actually, Claudia, I did. See, you heard Sonny last night talking about trust and how I've made zero inroads with him as far as trust is concerned. And had I come back from that ambush conveniently alive with Jason Morgan shot and killed, Sonny would've pulled out a gun on the spot and killed your brother. Did you not think that far ahead, huh? Here's something else for you to consider. One of the reasons I'm alive right now, Claudia, is because Jason Morgan vouched for me. Sonny was starting to think that I was part of this Zacchara conspiracy, rebellion -- whatever you want to call it. Jason stepped for -- you know what? That's not even the point. The point is, Claudia, you and I are both Corinthos soldiers for the foreseeable future. Deal with it.

[Knock on door]

Sam: Hi.

Jason: Hey.

Sam: Okay, so I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but we have got a situation brewing that has disaster written all over it.

Jason: Okay, okay, okay. What's going on?

Sam: I went to Kristina and I wanted to question her about her pattern of behavior that you've witnessed -- the clubbing, the drinking, stealing Alexis' car, things that are so out of character for her. She's obviously crying out for help. I mean, she might as well tattoo "notice me" on her forehead.

Jason: Did you get her to open up?

Sam: No. No, she didn't admit to doing anything wrong. She kept on coming up with these lame excuses -- "oh, yeah, I was at a club because I was trying to help a friend out." And just as I was about to give her the benefit of the doubt, Alexis comes storming in and drops another bombshell. Do you know that she caught her and Michael at Jake’s yesterday?

Jason: Yeah, Jax told me about Michael, but he didn't say Kristina was involved.

Sam: Ugh! Okay, well, her story is she was there to convince him to leave. Clearly, another lie.

Jason: Yeah, one that's getting really old at this point.

Sam: Yeah, and Alexis, like, totally believed it and I don't get that. Instead of poking holes into her story, she went on this whole tirade about, "hey, you got to stick to the plan." What's her plan? "Oh, go to Ivy League school, follow in my footsteps." No wonder why Kristina is acting out, clearly. But you add that with everything that Michael's going through -- Jason, we've got trouble on our hands.

Kristina: On a scale of one to 10, how mad are you at me?

Michael: Didn't you get my text?

Kristina: I got it.

Michael: I thought it was pretty clear. I'm not mad at you.

Kristina: I would be if I were you.

Michael: I guess I'm a more forgiving person than you are.

Kristina: It was massively uncool dumping the whole Jake’s thing on you, acting like I'm St. Kristina of wayward youth. I'm so sorry for myself and my mother. I can't believe the way she talked to you.

Michael: Look, if you and I had to apologize for every single time our parents embarrassed us, we'd never stop. How'd you get here?

Kristina: I took mom's other car. But don't worry; I parked it by the lake where it can't be seen.

Michael: And I'm supposed to be the bad influence?

Kristina: I know, I'm a horrible human being. I really do feel awful about leaving you holding the bag.

Michael: Well, I'm glad you talked your way out of it. No point of both of us getting in trouble, and you've got more to lose. You know, a brainiac honor student with your whole choice of colleges and however-many-years plan.

Kristina: My mother's plan?

[Michael sighs]

Michael: At least you have one.

Kristina: What's wrong?

Michael: I thought that I made an important step last night confronting that goon in the woods. I thought it would show that I have what it takes. You know, I wanted Jason to see it and be impressed.

Kristina: You lost me back at "the woods."

Michael: All right, there was this shootout and one of the Zacchara guys got out alive. He took off through the woods because he was shot. And that's where Morgan was taking the shortcut on his way here. So he gets desperate, somebody sees him so he grabs Morgan, and mom and I get there. I end up faced off with the guy and I took him out -- no thinking, pure clean reactions -- and I thought that it would be my way in.

Kristina: Into what?

Michael: Dad's business.

 [Door slams]

Alexis: Sonny, you here?

Matt: What? You don't have to be embarrassed as I think it's sexy the way you go after what you want. I'm flattered it's me.

Maxie: Look, okay, let's get one thing straight. I am not available. And even if I was, you're not my type. You're conceited and a jerk, and frankly, unbearable.

Matt: Okay, about unbearable, I was the other night at Jake’s, and seriously, I'm sorry about that.

Maxie: I think you owe Spinelli an apology.

Matt: Yeah, but first, I want to know why you were trying to get into my office.

Maxie: Well, even you don't deserve to lose everything you worked for over something that's not your fault.

Matt: Are you talking about my malpractice case?

Maxie: Yes, what else? I'm trying to help you out with it.

Matt: Well, how?

Maxie: Spinelli and I are working on the case, and there are a few things that don't add up. We're starting to think that maybe you were at the wrong place at the wrong time, and someone who is guilty of something that's yet to be determined is just going to let you take the fall.

Matt: So you're saying that you believe in me. This is good, Maxie. We're really making progress.

Maxie: Don't get ahead of yourself. I think you're innocent. That doesn't mean I want to date you.

Matt: Oh, okay, fine. Well, before you go ahead and reject me again, why don't you try and find out something about me, okay? You don't even have to talk to me. You can follow me on twitter, okay? Dr. Matt Hunter. You might even learn something interesting.

Maxie: Okay, I'll follow you on twitter, but that's about it.

Patrick: Your wife has come to me twice, begging me and my brother to settle the lawsuit out of court, saying that if we fight it, it will cause damage to your career that will be beyond repair.

Mayor Floyd:: Andrea's right. She usually is. I ran as a law-and-order candidate. Sonny Corinthos and his merry band of mobsters have dealt a blow to that image. The fact that I cheated on my wife with my assistant, who ended up dead, would nail that into the ground. So yes, my career in politics would be over.

Patrick: Hmm, tragic. Not as tragic as a young woman enthralled with a man in position and power going into an affair and meeting with a fatal accident. Especially, if it wasn't an accident.

Mayor Floyd: What do you mean?

Patrick: Well, Mayor, I'm speaking to you as a doctor and also a man that's had plenty of shower sex. It was apparent to me right away that the head injury that Brianna sustained was much more serious than the story that you told us. The autopsy came back. Brianna suffered two head injuries in the exact same place.

Mayor Floyd: Two? How is that possible?

Patrick: Well, I was wondering that myself. And then I asked, maybe Brianna was making demands that you didn't want to meet. Maybe she wanted to go public with the affair, and you wanted to take care of that, make it look like an accident.

Jason: I don't even know what to do. I feel like the world's biggest hypocrite.

Sam: Why?

Jason: Because Michael is flailing right now. He's looking for an identity, a place where he fits in.

Sam: That's understandable, I mean, he's a teenager. That's what they do.

Jason: Yeah, he's no ordinary teenager, Sam. He's Sonny's son. He's my nephew. He looks at what we do like it's ELQ, a family business handed down from one generation to the next.

Sam: Yeah, I know. Unfortunate, but again, kind of understandable. I just -- I really, uh, I don't understand where you feeling like a hypocrite fits into all this.

Jason: Michael approached me about mentoring him, just like I approached Sonny. He didn't even want to hear it. I told him there's no way that it's going to happen.

Sam: Okay, good, then I hope you're not beating yourself up over this, then.

Jason: No, just like Michael said, I'm the one who's always telling people they get to do what they want to do, you know? He's not old enough to do that now, but in a couple of years, the kid's going to be able to do whatever he wants. So do I do to him what everybody did to me?

Sam: You do not want him a part of the mob, do you?

Jason: Hell no.

Sam: Okay, then, it seems to me keeping him out, giving Michael other viable options, trumps feeling hypocritical any day of the week.

Alexis: Oh, hi.

Michael: Hey.

Alexis: I was expecting to find Sonny in here, but I'm glad you're here. Can we have a chat?

Michael: A chat?

Alexis: Come here. Sit down with me for a minute.

Alexis: In my shock and horror at seeing you and Kristina at Jake’s, I don't think that I expressed myself clearly, and I wanted to rectify that.

Michael: Well, I understood you loud and clear.

Alexis: No, you didn't, because I didn't come across very sensitively toward you. And I do care about you, Michael. I feel terrible for everything that you've been through, the injuries that you've suffered, the time that you lost. And I appreciate how much you're struggling to get through all that. I hope that you understand I was upset because you were in a bar, ordering a drink, and you asked my daughter to --

Michael: Kristina wasn't drinking.

Alexis: Well, it was a place where drinks were sold, and that's against the law.

Michael: It won't happen again.

Alexis: Thank you, Michael. Kristina has worked really hard at school, and she's got really good grades. She's a good kid. She's set up a potentially very successful future for herself. I don't want to see that all messed up. I'm sure you can understand that, because --

Michael: Yeah, I understand.

Alexis: Okay.

Michael: You don't want Kristina's brain-damaged half-brother --

Alexis: No, oh, Michael --

Michael: To mess up her nice, tidy future.

Alexis: That's not what I'm saying.

Michael: And now you're going to order me to stay away from her.

Claudia: No, she can't order you to do a damn thing. Why don't you get something to eat, and I'll take care of her, okay?

Alexis: You will not take care of me or anything that has anything to do with my daughter. And if you think that I don't mean that, you are mistaken.

[Toussaint laughs]

Epiphany: Chocolate peanut butter cups?

Toussaint: Oh, can you believe it? I'm still addicted after all these years.

Epiphany: Well, it could be worse.

Toussaint: Have done.

Epiphany: Hmm, I've heard that.

Toussaint: What's your hurry?

Epiphany: Well, I'm on duty. But I guess I could take a minute.

Toussaint: How have you been?

Epiphany: Same old, same old. What are you asking me for? You're the one with all the stories.

Toussaint: You mean the tour? Don't remind me.

Epiphany: Was it really all that bad?

Toussaint: Well, being on stage is as magical as ever, but people don't come out as much as they used to.

Epiphany: It's the economy, you silly man.

[Toussaint and Epiphany laugh]

Epiphany: No, seriously, I had my hopes high for a Saints comeback.

Toussaint: Well, you never know.

Epiphany: So you haven't given up.

Toussaint: Well, you know me. I never give up.

[Toussaint and Epiphany laugh]

Mayor Floyd: I suppose I understand your suspicion, Dr. Drake, but you're way off course. Look, I didn't kill Brianna. I couldn't have. I was in love with her. I know this may sound hard to believe, but I got into politics because I thought I could make a difference. I was idealistic, innocent of the realities of what it meant to be a public servant. But I had to learn that after I was elected, I would spend the majority of my time negotiating the keeping of the power. Because without the power, nothing gets done. But truth is, it really doesn't matter because you're so busy spending all of your time negotiating the power. The next thing you know, you're in this endless, soulless struggle. Whatever was bright and shining inside of you just dies. Look, my wife -- my wife, our relationship was grounded in mutual ambition. And when the bloom came off the rose, that went hollow, too. And then Brianna walked into this office, and all of a sudden, a little light came through. When she looked at me, she saw the better man that I used to be. I was going to ask my wife for a divorce, let the chips fall where they may. That's how much I loved Brianna. So if you're telling me that she was murdered, I want to know who did it.

Ric: Okay, look, you want my advice? Cut your losses. Let the malpractice suit go forward. If the truth comes out about Garret's affair with Brianna and if they find out that he killed her, so be it.

Andrea: Oh, that is very easy for you to say. You're not the one with everything on the line here. Garret could be the next governor if he wins re-election as mayor just one more time. From there, he could go all the way. The sky is the limit. I will not be held back by one tawdry indiscretion.

Claudia: Where do you get off ordering him around, Alexis?

Alexis: It's called parenting, Claudia. It's all right. I know you're not familiar with that.

Claudia: Oh, you're so smug. I can't wait for Kristina to send you crashing down to earth. You need to get out of my house.

Alexis: Yeah, well, I'm waiting for Sonny to get here. And I have a wonderful daughter, actually. She hasn't given me much problem at all up until now.

Claudia: Just wait.

Alexis: What do you know about that?

Claudia: Actually, I'd know a lot about it. Kristina's in private school, right? All those high expectations and repressed sexuality. Those perfect little girls? Those are the ones that you see in the spring break videos wasted off their ass with their t-shirt up over their head, flashing their boobs. And they're rebelling against overprotective, psychotic mothers --

[Cell phone rings]

Claudia: Like you, who try to control every single aspect of their life. You don't have any idea what's going on with her. I mean, first of all, you want to cut her out of her father's life? You don't know what happens to little girls like that?

Alexis: You must be referring to my trying to prevent her from being the next of Sonny's children to get a bullet in the brain.

Claudia: So your solution is to cut her first out of Sonny's life and then out of Michael's? I mean, that's just stupid, Alexis. It's not smart. You're just giving her something to rebel against.

Alexis: No, I want them to spend as much time as they want to together, just in my house under supervision, that's all.

Claudia: Well, that's ridiculous. They're teenagers. They should be able to hang out in their father's house if they want to.

Alexis: Which also happens to be your house. So come to think of it, even if Michael were the most docile person on the planet, I don't want Kristina hanging around at any house that has you in it.

Jason: I was determined to work for Sonny. Nobody could tell me any different. You know, if somebody tried, I would just cut them out of my life. Now Michael wants to go down the same path.

Sam: Look, Jason, all you can do is tell Michael the truth. He may lash out in the moment, but in the end, he's going to realize that you're trying to help him and that you are what you've always been -- someone Michael can trust to have his best interests at heart, always.

Michael: Got a minute?

Johnny: Hi. I didn't hear you come in.

Michael: So I guess the business isn't exactly booming.

Johnny: Could be better.

Michael: Well, you've got another job. That's why I came here. I know you're working for my dad, and I want to learn from you.

Johnny: Learn what, how to fix cars?

Michael: Don't do that. I know the garage is a front, okay? And that's the business I want to learn from you.

Patrick: That was the first time I think the mayor has ever had an honest moment.

Robin: Really, you believed him?

Patrick: Yeah, didn't you?

Robin: I'm not sure. He had time to come up with a whole cover story while you laid out the case for him like a present.

Andrea: This is your fault. You botched the surgery. Your incompetence killed Brianna Hughes.

Matt: That is not true.

Andrea: And because you're too much of a coward to admit it, my husband is going to be ruined.

Claudia: You're really some piece of work, you know that?

Alexis: Yeah, well, you're a living, breathing crime wave.

Claudia: Oh, really? You can't put what my father's done on me.

Alexis: Oh, you're going to do the "who, me?" Are you kidding? That's nauseating.

Claudia: Okay, go ahead, prove that I've done one criminal thing, Alexis, please. Launch a full-scale investigation. Oh, that's right, you can't do that because my husband is your daughter's father, and then you'd have to investigate Sonny, so that's not happening. How's it feel to be a walking conflict of interest, counselor?

Alexis: Not good. Not good at all. When Kristina was born, I prayed that she wouldn't have to suffer because her father chose the life of a mobster. But I've done my best to ensure that she's had very little to do with that part of his life.  Now that you are in the picture, I'm going to make sure that she never will.

Kristina: Who are you?

Dominic: Just do as I say, and there’ll be a quarter under your pillow in the morning.

Johnny: Sounds like a conversation you should be having with your father or Jason, kid.

Michael: Yeah, they all feel so guilty about me getting shot, we can barely discuss the weather. They want to protect me, like they learned some big lesson from what happened. But it's pointless. I can't walk away from being Michael Corinthos, the same way you can't walk away from being a Zacchara. You know what I'm talking about. Look, I'm just accepting my destiny -- at least, trying to.

Johnny: Okay, you have lost way too much due to this business. Why the hell would you want in?

Michael: It's the only life I know.

Johnny: It's the only one you've been exposed to. There are a million different options out there, kid, believe me. Find one and stick with it.

Michael: You know it doesn't work like that, okay? Help me out. Teach me.

Johnny: No can do, Mikey.

Michael: Why not?

Johnny: Because I'm not going to be the reason you get shot again.

Jason: What do you mean, “again"?
