Carly: If Spinelli is coming home from the hospital today, you could at least find food that he likes, not whole wheat bread, celery and lettuce.
Jason: Wh -- what do you care what Spinelli eats?
Carly: Well, if it were me, I would want, like, frozen pizzas, potato chips, cheesy snacks.
Jason: Okay, well, now that you and Jax are back together, maybe you should worry more about what Jax wants.
Carly: You don't have to worry about that. Jax is going to be my number one priority.
Jax: I thought I caught Carly in a lie. The fact is, she was set up.
Alexis: Jax, I think that's symptomatic of a bigger issue in your marriage, which is one of trust.
Jax: No, I do trust Carly. She is as committed in this relationship as I am.
Alexis: I know you do. There is a dynamic that exists between Sonny and Carly, and I think you need to take a look at it. It -- it leaves destruction in its wake, and I -- we just hate to see you become another casualty.
Sonny: Uh, we were not expecting a welcoming committee.
Max: Hey, Mr. C., Mrs. Howard.
Diane: "Ms." Howard.
Clarice: Kate, sorry. There is something you need to know about.
Ric: I object, Your Honor. This is a lie perpetrated by Mr. Baldwin to avenge the death of his own son.
Anthony: You're not going to kill my boy.
Judge Aroyo: Order. Another outburst like that, and I'll have you all brought up on contempt. Mr. Lansing?
Ric: Your Honor, Logan Hayes was not a member of the police department.
Scott: Your Honor, the victim was a police officer, and I can prove it.
Jax: Alexis, your experience with Sonny and Carly is different to mine.
Alexis: I know. I know that's true, and I am biased. I was there the night that Michael got shot. I watched them go at each other for 24 hours. It was ugly and it was painful, but, more importantly, it was a display of their love-hate relationship.
Jax: Carly has put all that behind her now.
Alexis: I love you, and you deserve someone who loves you completely, Jax. And I'm not sure that Carly will ever be capable of that.
Jax: You think I haven't had that conversation with myself a thousand times? As long as Carly is committed to this relationship, and I know that she is, I trust her.
Carly: Jax had to know that he was worth fighting for -- and he is. You know, when I came down the steps and I saw Jax and Morgan having breakfast, it was -- it was amazing. It was like having a real family, and that's all I've ever wanted.
Jason: I'm glad you got it.
Carly: God knows Sonny and I tried to make it work. You know, and there were times when we were happy, but I've never felt the peace that I felt when Jax came home today. And I know that I have been self-destructive, but I don't want to live that way anymore. I love Jax. I love him so much. So, I wish Sonny all the happiness with Kate. I loathe her, and I despise her, but Jax knows she lies. He doesn't trust her anymore. So, for me, Kate Howard is no longer a problem. Bye.
Kate: Does this important information affect the future of "Crimson"?
Clarice: Well, no -- not exactly, but --
Kate: Does it affect the issue going to print?
Clarice: No, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't --
Kate: Okay, then. It can wait. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still on vacation. Now prove you're savvy and know when to leave. I promise, Clarice, I'll be all yours as soon as I get to the office.
Diane: So --
Diane: How was the island?
Kate: Uh, it was lovely visiting a place that was so special to Sonny.
Sonny: I let her win at the craps table.
Kate: You did not let me win. Don't you dare change your story. Is that what you're going to do?
Diane: [Whispering inaudibly]
Max: [Whispering inaudibly]
Diane: Okay, so, Sonny, there are a few business matters that we need to discuss.
Sonny: Diane, can you see that I'm busy.
Diane: I promise you just a moment of your time, and then you can get back to whatever --
Sonny: No, no. Not now.
Diane: In fact, Kate, uh -- Max, Kate might like some -- some ice tea with limo -- lemon -- lemon on the -- on the terrace.
Max: I'm sure she's fine.
Diane: Yes, I'm sure you're sure that she's fine. But it's -- it's -- there's absolutely no time like the --
Sonny: Not right now. Not now, Diane, please. It's just -- it's --
Diane: I respectfully disagree, Sonny. This is -- this is the perfect time.
Lainey: How are you, Lulu?
Lulu: Good. Glad to see my brother. I was just sitting here, enjoying the sun.
Nikolas: It's good to see that you're outside.
Lulu: You can ask her. He wants to know if it's a good sign, my -- me being out here.
Nikolas: Something like that.
Lulu: You can relax. I'm starting to see that this place could be good for me.
Lainey: Yes, Lulu's making progress. If she keeps up with her therapy, she'll be out of here before you know it.
Lainey: I'll see you at four.
Lulu: Yeah, okay.
Nikolas: Thanks, Lainey.
Nikolas: You know, you really did scare the hell out of me.
Lulu: Well, I scared myself, too, but I'm doing better now.
Nikolas: Any particular reason?
Lulu: Being close to Mom has meant everything to me.
Ric: Your Honor, permission to approach?
Judge Aroyo: Mr. Lansing, I realize that you were not aware of the victim's undercover status. If you would like time to consult with your client, in light of the fact that this is now a death penalty case, I'll allow it.
Ric: Your Honor, what Mr. Baldwin is suggesting is that Logan Hayes was a police officer at the time of his death. He is not a police officer, never has been.
Scott: I can supply documentation that --
Ric: Oh, forged documents, I'm sure.
Scott: Now that's a serious allegation, Lansing.
Ric: Well, I think that the special prosecutor might be misled. Logan Hayes was not a police officer, Your Honor. Logan Hayes was, indeed, an ex-soldier who was dishonorably discharged.
Scott: Oh, that's just great. Smear the reputation of a man, a soldier, who served for this country.
Judge Aroyo: The court is satisfied that Logan Hayes was working undercover for the PCPD at the time of this death. As such, his death would meet the parameters of murder with special circumstances.
Ric: Your Honor, I request a continuance to verify the authenticity –
Judge Aroyo: Denied. I have already made my ruling on the victim's status. Do you want time for a recess with your client or not?
Ric: Yes, Your Honor, I would like a recess.
Ric: I'm sorry, John. I don't know how Baldwin managed it, but you're literally fighting for your life.
Maxie: You know, you don't have to help us out. I could take Spinelli, if you want.
Elizabeth: Just doing my job, Maxie. Okay, Spinelli, when you get home, lots of rest, nothing strenuous.
Maxie: But he doesn't have to stay in bed, right?
Elizabeth: No, he can get up, just for short periods of time.
Maxie: I wonder what's taking Jason so long. He was supposed to pick up Spinelli.
Elizabeth: I'm sure he'll be here.
Maxie: It's just inconsiderate to keep him waiting while he's not feeling good.
Spinelli: Perhaps he's being delayed by the Slavic --
Elizabeth: I said he'll be here.
Maxie: Oh, don't jump down Spinelli's throat just because you don't like the idea of Jason dating someone else.
Nikolas: So, what would Mom have anything to do with you feeling better?
Lulu: Being able to see her and hold her hand. It's put things into perspective.
Nikolas: Well, I thought that's what you were afraid of. That you'd end up like her.
Lulu: Well, not anymore. I've managed to deal with what happened to Logan.
Nikolas: Good. I mean, yeah, I guess I know what it feels like to be the one who survived. I mean on -- on one hand you want to be able to embrace life. On the other, trying to figure out why you were chosen to live and not someone else. There's no real logical explanation for it. And even if there was, it doesn't change what happened, you know?
Nikolas: You've just got to live your life, I guess, and move on.
Lulu: Well, I'll always be sorry about what happened to Logan. But how I deal with it, how I live my life from here on out, depends on Johnny.
Judge Aroyo: Court will adjourn for a brief recess. 10 minutes, Counselors.
Ron: I don't know about serving on a death penalty case.
Edward: Well, I think Johnny Zacchara is guilty as sin, but I don't know that lethal injection is the answer.
Epiphany: The trial hasn't even started yet. We need to wait and see what happens.
Ron: Ms. Johnson is right.
Epiphany: My -- you can call me Epiphany.
Edward: Oh, my good -- allow me, madam.
Mrs. Albright: Oh, thank you. I'm -- I must be just very nervous. I -- I -- what a difficult decision.
Edward: Well, you're only one of 12. Don't worry. 12, after all.
Mrs. Albright: Thank you.
Anthony: Look at them, Trev. All those people are going to pay if my son if found guilty.
Trevor: Your son is not going to be found guilty, and you know it.
Ric: All right, look. I have enough evidence that will create reasonable doubt and get you acquitted, but, at this very moment, you are literally betting your life. You can enter a plea. You can get a reduced sentence and a guarantee that you are not going to be put to death.
Johnny: How long?
Ric: Five years. They're going to give you 10. Could be either.
Johnny: If I even spend a day in jail, my father is going to implode, and then he's going to go after every single person whoever so much as served me a cup of coffee. No plea bargain.
Alan: So, are you happy now?
Tracy: It's not my fault that Baldwin decided to forge documents so it looks like his son was a cop.
Alan: You said you wanted Lulu away from Johnny at any cost. Does that include his death?
Tracy: Shut up.
[Tracy clears throat]
Ric: John, I have a strong defense, but there is compelling evidence against you. The further we get into this trial, the harder it is going to be to get a plea bargain.
Johnny: Well, that's not an option for you or me. My father is not going to accept anything less than an acquittal, and if an acquittal doesn't happen, you are going to be the first in his line of fire. Now you can bail and turn this case over to Trevor if you want. I'm not going to hold it against you.
Ric: No, no, I'm -- I'm a better lawyer than my father. You're going to need my help.
Jerry: Mmm. Hello, darling. Well, apparently I've missed you more than you've missed me.
Alexis: So? I'm just distracted.
Jerry: What's wrong?
Alexis: Did you know that Jax and Carly have reconciled?
Jerry: Yes, and I say we should follow their example. So come home to me, and stop playing hard to get.
Alexis: Okay, maybe I will, but you have to help me first.
Jerry: What -- what are you talking about? Jax and Carly are great together. She's perfect for him.
Alexis: That's what Jax thinks, too. And as many misgivings as I might have about you, I do know that you love your brother. So I want you to go talk to him and be a sounding board to him.
Alexis: Because he is about to invest his whole heart in this again, and I don't want to see him head for a fall.
Diane: You are -- you really need to take a look at the contract, Sonny, because the exporter is trying to lay the taxes off on you. And that is not the agreement, as you explained it to me.
Sonny: Diane, if Kate can put off what she has to do until she gets to the office, I can do the same. There's much more important things in life than work.
Diane: Absolutely. But the world did not stop turning while you were away, and there is much to catch up on.
Kate: Okay, well, clearly Diane is not going to go until you handle this. So, don't mind me.
Sonny: No, no, no. You're not going to go now, because that's not right.
Kate: Well, actually, I think it's just going to go a lot faster if I'm not here to distract you. Max, I would love that ice tea.
Diane: Oh, and Max will get it for you. Here you go.
Max: Yeah, I'll bring it out.
[Sonny clears his throat]
Sonny: What is going on?
Diane: Not a thing. Not -- we are just making plans for, you know -- for later.
Sonny: Well, what do you got to show me? Let's go. I've got things to do.
Kate: Thank you, Max.
Max: So you enjoyed the island?
Kate: I did.
Max: Yeah, sometimes when you're down there with the tropical breezes blowing, and all your problems a million miles away, the real world can just seem like a dim memory.
Kate: That was very poetic and very true. That island -- you know, Max, I don't think I can remember taking a vacation and turning off my cell phone and my PDA. I should really do that more often.
Max: So now you're back in the real world.
Kate: Yeah, so much to do.
Max: And you and the boss are as in love as ever?
Max: Have you really given Mrs. C. enough thought? Oh --
Max: Whoops, um –
Spinelli: Truly, Maximista needn't jump to the Jackal's defense. He receives more attention than his worthiness would indicate.
Maxie: Don't underestimate your worthiness. If you want to talk about Jason dating some Slavic seductress or anyone else, you shouldn't be worried about hurting someone's overly sensitive feelings.
Elizabeth: Just try being civil. Or, better yet, not say anything at all.
Spinelli: Okay, please, ladies. Oh.
Spinelli: The Jackal is happy to see Stone Cold at any hour.
Elizabeth: I was just telling Spinelli that he needs rest and quiet.
Maxie: But he doesn't have to stay in bed.
Jason: We're all set.
Spinelli: The Jackal is grateful for all the trouble that Stone Cold has gone to.
Maxie: Well, wait. How -- how are you going to take care of Spinelli by yourself?
Jason: I'll manage.
Diane: The wording is -- is -- is very ambiguous -- is very ambiguous here. It's -- it's "can be," you know, instead of "will be."
Sonny: Are you telling me this couldn't wait?
Kate: Okay, first of all, Carly, she is now Mrs. J. -- not Mrs. C. Okay? And, secondly, you might want to just take this whole subject up with Sonny. Okay, Max, look, I am fond of you, and clearly you were worried. So let me just put your mind at ease, all right? Sonny and I took this holiday in part to put any kind of concerns on the table, and it is safe to say that this issue of Carly has been put to rest.
Max: Oh, that's terrific. Really. You're going to be the new Mrs. C. and no one will be the wiser. I -- no one meaning everyone will live happily ever after. As much as that's possible. I hope. It's all good.
Kate: Okay, thank you, Max.
Sonny: Oh, don't mind me. What's going on here?
Kate: Max was just saying how happy he is for us.
Clarice: Yes, I know Ms. Howard wants to set up a wedding cake tasting, but can we put a pin in it for now? Ms. Howard has some important decisions to make. I'll call you back when we set another date. Hello, Jax. Kate hasn't come into the office yet.
Jax: Oh, okay. Well, when you see her, tell her I dropped by.
Clarice: Of course.
Clarice: Is there something else?
Jax: Yeah, actually. I don't appreciate the part you played in setting up my wife. I understand your first loyalty is to Kate, but it just makes things a little awkward. It makes it hard for me to trust you again.
Clarice: I'm sorry, but I do owe everything to Kate. And Carly is not as innocent as you'd like to think.
Jax: Excuse me? You going to clarify that?
Lulu: Johnny's trial started today. I haven't been able to stop thinking about him.
Nikolas: Lulu, look. Now, I know that you think nothing will ever feel right until you can be with him again, but for your own sake don't make him, or really anyone else for that matter, your reason for living or holding onto your sanity.
Lulu: You say that as if I can control it.
Nikolas: Well, you could if you focus on your recovery.
Lulu: Okay, now I know -- I know that getting well is -- starts with me. You know, like drugs and alcohol, you can't do it for anybody else, but part of my recovery is about being honest. And I would be lying if I didn't say Johnny is on my mind all the time, trial or no trial.
Lucky: Hey, guys.
Lucky: Hey, you look fantastic.
Lulu: Well I -- I'm stronger than yesterday.
Lucky: Well, that's great. Do you need anything? Maybe something from home --
Lulu: How is Johnny's trial going?
Scott: Your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you are looking at a blood-thirsty killer. A son of the infamous gangster, born into violence, raised in violence, and destined to wear the mantel of violence.
Ric: Special Prosecutor Baldwin would like for you to believe that the son should pay for the sins of the father. The only problem with that is John Zacchara isn't a criminal.
Scott: John Zacchara saw Logan Hayes as an obstacle, and what do all mobsters do? They kill the obstacles, and then they just cover it up.
Ric: Logan Hayes was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, a debilitating syndrome which often manifests itself in irrational and even psychotic behavior.
Scott: Logan Hayes was a patriot. After serving in Iraq, he decided what else could he do for the country. So he decided to become a police officer.
Ric: He became increasingly more angry and more violent, and he took this out on the one person that he felt was his competition. Logan Hayes attacked John Zacchara, an attack that was so relentless, one of the men was bound to wind up dead. John Zacchara had no choice but to defend himself.
Jason: Come on. The doctor gave you some pain meds.
Spinelli: Yeah, the Jackal laughs at pain. Usually.
Jason: Who are you trying to impress, Spinelli?
Spinelli: Stone Cold scorns any reliance on pharmaceuticals.
Jason: Okay, you know what? I have my reasons. That's me, you're you. You're smart, you have a future. Why are you doing this? Why are out hanging out in alleys so you can get hit by cars?
Spinelli: Jackal P.I. was attempting to gain vital intelligence for the master.
Jason: Yeah, I'm not worth risking your life on a stakeout. You're too good for that.
Spinelli: No. I'm a hopeless wimp, okay? Something that Stone Cold cannot comprehend because he is a paragon of manly prowess.
Jason: Okay, I want you to tell me something. Exactly what part of my life do you want?
Spinelli: You can't seriously ask that.
Jason: Is it the laws I've broken? Is it the jail time? Is it the people I hurt? The fact that I've got to keep everybody I care about at a distance?
Spinelli: There is much about Stone Cold's existence that's worth --
Jason: Like people wanting to kill me? Is that what appeals to you?
Spinelli: Stone Cold has to look no further than right in --
Jason: I use fear and intimidation on a daily basis. I mean, you don't -- you don't even see it. You're already a better person than I am.
Kate: You know, I'm actually feeling a little guilty about the way I kicked Clarice out, so I think I should go up to the office.
Diane: Kate, I'm sure you're probably both very hungry after that long flight. Don't we still have some leftover pasta in the fridge? Max has become quite the chef.
Kate: You know what, Diane? It's okay. I really couldn’t. Thank you, though. It's not going to be long.
Sonny: Okay, I'll tell you what I'm going to do, all right? I want to pick you up in the speedboat; we're going to come home across the harbor. You love that?
Kate: I love that.
Sonny: You love that?
Sonny: All right. Bye.
Sonny: What the hell is going on?
Max: Nothing, nothing.
Sonny: Okay, if this is about me and Kate getting married, I don't want to hear it. If you don't like it, I'm accepting resignations. No? Good. Because, as you can obviously see, we are very much in love and I would very much appreciate it if the people that we care about gave us a little bit of support. Now, we are happy. We are getting married. End of story.
Lucky: I remember when I was staying here, leaving my room voluntarily --
Lulu: Do you know how awful it feels when you hide things from me? It's like you don't trust me enough to tell me the truth.
Lucky: It's not about trust.
Lulu: All right, Nikolas, can you please give me an update?
Nikolas: Lulu, don't play us off of each other.
Lulu: Well, the difference is you respect my decisions and my feelings. Lucky, on the other hand, thinks I'm a hysterical kid who doesn't know what's good for her.
Lucky: Lulu, we both want you to get well.
Lulu: Then tell me the truth. Something happened.
Nikolas: Lucky, whatever it is, it's best she hear it from you.
Lucky: Scott claims he has evidence that Logan was acting as an undercover cop.
Lulu: What? That's crazy. Scott wanted Logan to be a cop, but Logan wasn't interested.
Lucky: I know, Scott has proof.
Nikolas: Probably forged, not that it really matters. But listen, if Logan really was a cop, that makes his killing murder with special circumstances, right?
Lucky: He's right. If he gets convicted, he could get the death penalty.
Scott: The prosecution calls Assistant Coroner, Robert Banner. Dr. Banner, how long have you been a coroner?
Dr. Banner: Three years in Port Charles, but ten years before that in Buffalo.
Scott: So, when you say that Logan Hayes had been dead for two hours when you found him outside the clinic, is that more than an educated guess?
Dr. Banner: That's right. We can pinpoint the time of death between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M.
Scott: What was the cause of death?
Dr. Banner: The victim died of a single stab wound, probably from a large kitchen knife.
Ric: Is this the kind of knife that killed Logan Hayes?
Dr. Banner: It's possible.
Ric: Uh, how about this one?
Dr. Banner: That could be it, too.
Ric: Really? Well, this is from my kitchen. And this is from the Port Charles Police Department lunch room. Now, I have to ask you, Dr. Banner, isn't it possible that there are thousands of kitchens that have the exact same kind of knife matching the one that killed Logan Hayes?
Dr. Banner: Yes.
Ric: Yes. No more questions, Your Honor.
Judge Aroyo: Mr. Baldwin, next witness.
Scott: I call Detective David Harper.
Spinelli: The Jackal appreciates the master's heartening pep talk. While he is flattered by the compliments offered, he still feels compelled to point out that he remains deficient in all facets of manly prowess.
Jason: I lost Michael this year. I basically lost Sonny. You're one of the few remaining friends I have left. Look, I'm not going to tell you what to do, but selfishly, I don't want you to die, especially doing something stupid like surveillance.
Spinelli: Yeah, but that's a skill that I wish to cultivate, along with a greater ease and accuracy with firearms and maybe even general proficiency in martial --
Jason: Yeah, but there's nothing manly about getting shot at or carrying a gun. Why can't you learn to trust yourself the way I trust you?
Lulu: There must be a way to prove that Scott is lying.
Lucky: Judge wasn't interested.
Lulu: Okay, Scott wants revenge for Logan. He's not going to be happy until Johnny is dead, too.
Nikolas: Maybe you could still appeal.
Lulu: Johnny is a Zacchara. He's not going to last a week in prison.
Lucky: And his family will protect him. The best lawyer money can buy.
Lulu: I have to testify.
Nikolas: No, how -- of course, absolutely not.
Lucky: Scott will twist everything you say.
Nikolas: The way to help John is to get well.
Lulu: Okay, you know what? Can you -- will you just see Johnny for me and tell him that I love him and I believe in him?
Nikolas: Of course I will.
Lucky: Lulu, try not to worry. You need to save every ounce of strength for yourself.
Lulu: Johnny is on trial because of me.
[Knock at door]
Jerry: Hello, little brother. You busy?
Jax: No. Actually, I wanted to show you something.
Jerry: Is that the new house? Alexis told me you had big plans. Nice.
Jax: You still hanging out with her, huh?
Jerry: Well, she's entirely devoted to you. I don't know how comfortable I am with that.
Jax: If she's asked you to persuade me that my relationship with Carly will never work, you can save your breath.
Jerry: Do you know how annoying it is that she's so territorial when it comes to you?
Jax: Oh, really? Well, that's because we want what's best for each other. Sometimes we just disagree on what that is.
Jerry: Well, you see, Alexis is as misguided by Carly being bad for you as you are about me being bad for Alexis. But, as your older brother, I'm here to tell you that Carly is the best thing that will happen to you.
Carly: Hey, Tim, good job with brunch yesterday.
Tim: Oh, thanks, Mrs. Jacks.
Carly: Have you seen Mr. Jacks?
Tim: I haven't seen him yet.
Carly: Oh, thanks.
Carly: Hey. If you're looking for Kate, she's probably up in her office.
Sonny: No, no, I'm looking for you.
Carly: Any particular reason why?
Sonny: I just got back from the island. And I took Kate.
Carly: It's pretty there this time of year.
Sonny: It brought up a lot of stuff. Listen, it's time for you and me to make this right.
Spinelli: What is this nourishment you bring?
Jason: Tomato soup and some crackers.
Spinelli: The Jackal's well-being is generally dependant on large quantities of orange soda and barbeque chips.
Jason: Yeah, maybe you should lay off the junk for a few days.
Spinelli: Aw, considering what the Jackal went through at the hands of medical personnel poking and prodding and meals consisting of large amounts of brightly colored yet flavorless gelatin, it seems like a harmless pick-me-up would do me wonders. You know, something to lift my spirits and carry me on the wings of bliss to a speedy recovery.
[Knock at door]
Maxie: Oh, good. This stuff weighs a ton. And could you be really careful with this stuff? It's my hair products. Hi!
Spinelli: Hey. What an unexpected surprise.
Jason: Um, wait, what is this? Why all these bags?
Maxie: Well, someone has to stay here to take care of Spinelli.
Laura: Honey? You look upset.
Lulu: Every time things start to get better, they get worse again.
Laura: I saw you out here with your brothers. Is it too much for me to ask you to try to keep that secret?
Lulu: Lucky and Nikolas would be so happy if they knew about you, but I understand why you don't want them to know.
Laura: Then, something else is bothering you? Is it Logan?
Lulu: In a way. Johnny's murder trial started today, and the D.A.'s office --
Lulu: It doesn't matter. There's nothing you can do --
Laura: It does matter. I can tell it matters a lot to you. Are you trying to protect me from something? Please, don't do that. I'm your mother. Talk to me.
Lulu: Scott Baldwin forged some document so that it looked like Logan was an undercover cop, which means if Johnny is convicted, he'll be facing the death penalty in my place.
Det. Harper: The evidence indicated that the victim was murdered elsewhere and his body dropped at the clinic.
Ric: And on what do you base your conclusion?
Det. Harper: My experience as a homicide detective.
Ric: Okay. So, in fact, elsewhere could mean anywhere within a three-hour drive of Port Charles, is that correct?
Det. Harper: Or three blocks.
Ric: Well, for example, it could have been, say, a botched robbery or a gang killing?
Det. Harper: As long as the gang member drives a late model, high end sedan with matching carpet fibers.
Ric: So, in fact, in your experience, Detective, in homicide, if a person with severe stab wounds were to be dropped at a free clinic, wouldn't you conclude that the person who dropped them there in the first place was trying to get them medical help or save their life?
Det. Harper: The victim had already been dead for at least two to three hours.
Ric: Well, yes, but you don't have any evidence that shows that my client killed Logan Hayes deliberately or otherwise. No proof that shows he had intent.
Det. Harper: We don't have an eyewitness, no.
Ric: No more questions, Your Honor.
Judge Aroyo: You may step down, Detective.
Anthony: He let him off the hook.
Trevor: No. Richie’s doing better than I expected.
Edward: This is a waste of time. Zacchara killed Logan. Why don't we just find him guilty and move on?
Judge Aroyo: Juror number two, please save your conversations for the jury room.
Edward: Well, we're all entitled to our own opinions.
Judge Aroyo: Not until all the evidence has been presented. Do I need to go over the jury rules with you yet again?
Edward: I'll thank you not to patronize me, Judge.
Judge Aroyo: You can be quiet or I'll send you to lockup on contempt and replace you with an alternate. Mr. Baldwin, call your next witness.
Scott: The state calls Claudia Zacchara.
Bailiff: Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Jax: I know that things can be complicated with Carly. Sometimes the things I love about her are the things that drive us apart.
Jerry: Well, I was wondering how many times you can survive that.
Jax: She needed to show me that we are equally committed and I have no doubt that we are.
Sonny: We noticed the sea shell collection.
Carly: Do you remember the first time we took Michael shell hunting? He was determined to find the biggest and best shell. He had his eyes glued to the sand.
Sonny: Yeah, he walked backward in the surf and then a wave just kind of knocked him down.
Carly: Yeah. Thank God you were there to save him.
Sonny: I should have packed up those shells up, and just -- right after the divorce and sent them to you.
Sonny: Well, I mean --
Carly: No, those shells belong on the island. That's where the boys and I found them.
Sonny: We had fun. You know, we had our two sons there and I appreciate all the times you saved me.
Carly: You saved me, too. So, um, maybe in the end, that makes us even. I want you to know that I wish you the best. I really do.
Sonny: Why the change of heart?
Carly: Because I love Jax, and I had to lose him to find out how much he means to me and how perfect he is for me. So, I want the same for you. If Kate is the woman who is going to put a smile on your face, then I wish you nothing but happiness.
Kate: Well, actually all the planning I've done for the wedding is just falling into place. It's as if the angels are looking down on me.
Clarice: Not that you're superstitious.
Kate: No, I'm so excited that you're coming to the wedding. Oh, I'm sure by the time it rolls around I'll be a complete mess. No -- why don't you just talk to Clarice. She can make all the arrangements for the hotel. Okay, bye-bye. Sorry. There's one more thing you have to do. You have to arrange a block of rooms for all the out-of-town guests, okay?
Clarice: I'll do whatever you want, Kate.
Kate: So, I'm here, as promised. If you still needed to talk to me, I'm all yours.
Clarice: Kate, you know I love you.
Kate: Clarice? You are not quitting. You are not. Did Giselle offer you a raise?
Clarice: What? No, of course not. My loyalty is to you. And that's why I have to say this.
Kate: Oh, Clarice, what -- what's wrong?
Clarice: I don't want to see you hurt, ever. But I know you, and you'd rather know about something like this than be left in the dark.
Kate: Okay, um, like what?
Clarice: When you were on the island, I went to drop the portfolio for the museum shoot off at Sonny’s. Diane and Max didn't realize I was there, and I heard them talking. Now, I promise you, I listened very carefully. I would never come to you unless I was absolutely certain.
Kate: About what, Clarice?
Clarice: Back in May, when Michael Corinthos was shot, Sonny and Carly had sex.
