Scott: Why, thank you.

Georgie: Oh, of course.

Scott: What do you want, Spencer?

Luke: You and I have known each other a long time -- too long.

Scott: Yeah.

Luke: I'm sure you agree. If you got a problem with me, you bring it to me. Stop trying to drag my daughter into it.

Scott: If you're talking about Lulu and Logan being together, they were together before I ever knew that kid was mine.

Luke: Lulu had already kicked that kid to the curb. It was only when you started dangling her mother's guardianship in her face that she gave him another tumble. Now, I'm not going to let you rewrite your own miserable history by pushing my daughter into the tentacles of your slimy son!

Scott: Lulu was looking for an excuse to get back with Logan, and you're the one that's jumped in the time machine here, Spencer.

Jax: I'm meeting with the contractors. Are you coming?

[Jax sighs]

Jax: Hey.

Carly: Hey. So do you think you can go alone, because I have a few details I need to work out here.

Jax: If you're referring to the black-and-white ball, we've already been through this -- you're not going.

Carly: You don't have to worry. I found a date.

Jax: I'm not worried because you're not going anywhere near Wyndemere with or without a date, okay? Nikolas is dangerous; he stabbed my brother and went after you with a letter opener. How many times do I have to say that?

Carly: Can you stop? I'm going to be protected all night long because Jason is going to be my date to the ball.

Jason: Yeah, but this didn't come out of nowhere. Favors were called in; I want you to find out by who. I want the names and --

Spinelli: I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were otherwise engaged. I -- I -- I can wait till you have a free moment.

Jason: Okay, you know what? Just take care of it and I'm going to call you back.

Spinelli: I'm sorry.

Jason: I'm working.

Spinelli: I know and I -- I deeply regret my disturbance, but it's most dire -- Defcon 2 at least.

Jason: What's your problem?

Spinelli: Okay, although I know of your aversion to all things social, I beseech you -- please attend the upcoming festivities at Wyndemere.

Jason: I already told you I'm not going, Spinelli.

Spinelli: I know, but do you realize that if you don't rethink your arbitrary stance, your grasshopper will have no date to the ball?

Lucky: Good morning.

Sam: It is now.

Nikolas: Clearly I should've called before stopping by.

Georgie: Hey. What can I get you?

Nadine: A banana nut muffin, please.

Georgie: Oh, good choice.

Nadine: That's what I hear. I just started at the hospital and everyone keeps telling me that this place makes the best muffins in town.

Georgie: Med student?

Nadine: Nurse.

Georgie: Oh, really? That -- that's great. I -- I volunteer at the hospital, so we should be seeing a lot of each other. I'm Georgie.

Nadine: Nadine. Nice to meet you.

Georgie: Nice to meet you. So, how long have you been in town?

Nadine: Just a few weeks. I was working at a hospital in Ohio before that.

Georgie: Oh.

Scott: Now, you listen to me, R. I'm not going to let you drum Logan out of town just because he happens to be my son!

Luke: Hey, got a news flash for you, pal -- even if my daughter did ride into the sunset with your unlikely seed, it wouldn't change a damn thing. You wouldn't get Laura back -- she's gone, man. You've lost her. We've all lost her. You should be grateful for what little you had and shut up!

Scott: This has "nothing" to do with Laura. You're just upset because your daughter wants to be with my son.

Luke: I'm upset because 25 years ago, I took away your wife a you're still whining about it, only now you're trying to drag my daughter in and make her pay, too, and that's despicable. You're a yellow-bellied coward, that's what you are.

Ric: Nobody has seen Sonny since last night. He made a stop at Carly's and then he ditched the surveillance team that I had following him. I want to know where he went.

Logan: Sonny fired me. No one's going to tell me anything.

Ric: Our arrangement was very simple, Mr. Hayes. In exchange for your continued freedom, you will provide information as an informant about Sonny and his organization to this office. Clearly, that doesn't seem to be working out very well.

Logan: Well, I've given you everything on Sonny. I gave you shipments, account information, scheduling.

Ric: Nothing's that really led to an arrest.

Logan: Well, you know what? That's not my fault, all right? I've held up my end of the deal.

Ric: Oh. Well, since your continued freedom hinged on the fact that you could work with me and this office and since you no longer have access to Sonny or his business, I feel obliged to inform the military about your questionable -- let's say criminal -- activity, behavior in Iraq?

Logan: Just listen, all right? It wasn't my fault that I got fired. There was a mix-up with the guard schedule and Sonny's kids, they were left unprotected.

Ric: Was it a mix-up or did you purposely not show up for your shift?

Logan: Now, why would I do that since you so amply put that this deal is the only thing keeping me out of prison?

Ric: It's called self-preservation, Mr. Hayes, okay? The minute that Sonny finds out that you are working for me, you are dead, okay? Unless maybe, maybe you just wanted to bow out of this arrangement between the two of us before that could happen.

Logan: Look, look, I told you, all right? It wasn't my fault. Sonny -- he didn't want to hear explanations. The man just wanted me out.

Ric: Okay, well, you're going to have to find a way to get back in Sonny's good graces because if you don't come up with something that I can use against my brother, you're going to be the one who's rotting in a prison cell for the rest of your life.

Lucky: I don't need you dropping by to police my behavior. My marriage is over, and Sam and I are adults, so if we want to spend time together, that's our business.

Sam: You know, Lucky, I was at Nikolas' yesterday and we got interrupted. This probably has nothing to do with you.

Nikolas: No, it actually doesn't. I -- I just came by to apologize to Sam. I had no idea that you'd be here.

Lucky: Apologize for what?

Sam: Well, you see, Nikolas blew up at me yesterday at the hospital. I sort of, kind of started a fight with Elizabeth.

Nikolas: I apologize. My behavior was inexcusable.

Sam: So was mine. And, really, you don't have anything to worry about. In fact, I am actually looking forward to going to the ball.

Nikolas: Oh. Will you be attending as a couple or --

Lucky: Okay -- just back off. Mind your own business.

Jax: Your plan is wrong on so many levels.

Carly: Nikolas is going to be making an endowment to the hospital in Alan's name. It'll make Emily very happy to have Jason there.

Jax: Are you forgetting that Jason is the most antisocial person in the world? There's no way you can ever get him to set foot inside a ballroom.

Carly: I know, I know. It's going to be a little difficult, but I know I can talk him into it.

Jax: You going to talk him into wearing tails, too?

Carly: Emily is going to be so thrilled to have Jason there. She's not going to care what he's wearing. He can show up in a T-shirt and jeans and his leather jacket. Hey -- it's going to be okay. Jason and I will have fun. You won't have to worry about me at all. He'll make sure I'm protected the whole time you're out of town, okay?

Jax: What's going on, Carly?

Carly: What are you talking about?

Jax: You've never cared this much about a party, okay, especially one thrown by two people that you can't stand, unless you're up to something. Now, tell me -- what is going on?

Spinelli: Although the Jackal is well trained in all things Stone Cold, he has yet to fully master the art of the pickup. And -- no, after many failed and painful attempts to win the blond heart, I still find myself too wimpy to secure a date in a non-cyber world. However, if -- if you, if Stone Cold were to secure a fair maiden for the festivities at Wyndemere, you know, the grasshopper could tag along, as it were.

Jason: Okay, Spinelli, just listen to me.

Spinelli: No -- look, look, you would be under no obligation to dance or even socialize with said theoretical damsel. You would just have to secure her presence and I -- I would do the rest.

Jason: There -- there is a lot going on right now. I don't have time to go to some party, Spinelli.

Spinelli: Come on, Stone Cold, please! I -- I humbly beg you; assist me in this, my hour of need!

[Knock on door]

Kate: Have you heard from Sonny?

Spinelli: Um -- not to make light of the fashionista's desire to secure an update on Mr. Corinthos, Sir's whereabouts, but the Godfather, if he would like to speak to you, will no doubt call. In the meantime, Stone Cold and I were having a very important conversation --

Jason: Okay, listen, if you want to go to this party, you're going to have to find a date on your own.

Spinelli: Oh. Stone Cold, please. Come on, I have zero social skills, okay? I -- I fear that I could not secure a date on my own merit, so please, come on, you have to help me. I cannot stand idly by while fair Lulu attends the festivities at Wyndemere on the arm of the unworthy one.

Jason: Oh -- okay. Okay. If you -- if you try to go get a date and you can't, we'll talk about it.

Spinelli: I will be off seeking my rejection which will guarantee your attendance at the ball. Huh. Uh -- fashionista.

Kate: Oh.

Jason: Whew.

Kate: So, tell me, what is so awful about attending a ball? Hmm? It doesn't sound like someone's asking you to be signed up to be tortured.

Jason: Hmm, depends on your perspective.

Kate: Well, I think it's going to be wonderful. I'm actually looking forward to it, and so was Sonny -- before he vanished.

Trevor: Did you recover his body? A charred limousine is not good enough. I need proof that Sonny actually died in that explosion, and if he didn't, you track him, find him, and finish it, then you call me back -- you got it? Yeah -- Lansing. Oh, you guys. I'm on my way. You just make sure that Johnny stays there. Why? Because he is my only guarantee that Anthony Zacchara will come back home again.

Man: Have a seat, kid. You're going to be here a while.

Johnny: My father's gone to find the girl who was here visiting me last night. I have to stop him.

Man: Mr. Lansing is aware and it's being handled.

Johnny: Screw Trevor. Did my father say anything about her?

Man: Anthony knows her name. I heard him say it coming out of the garden yesterday.

Johnny: Damn it.

Man: Take it easy, kid.

Johnny: My father's going to kill Lulu Spencer.

Luke: If you want to do something helpful for this adult son of yours, get him the hell out of town.

Lulu: What's going on?

Scott: I'll tell you what's going on -- your father seems to think he can drum Logan right out of town.

Georgie: Don't let them scare you away. It's a feud decades old. It's sort of a legend in this town.

Nadine: Well, if the muffin is half as good as the floor show, I will be back tomorrow.

Georgie: Sounds great.

Nadine: Bye.

Georgie: Bye.

Lulu: I want you both to be clear on something -- whatever happens between me and Logan is about us, not our parents.

Luke: Oh, now it's "us"?

Scott: Well, you see, Lulu knows that Logan cares about her. She's a smart girl. Obviously, she didn't get that from a dummy of a father.

Luke: You forgot your coffee, dummy.

Lulu: Dad, it means a lot to me that you're back in town and you want to protect me. But I'm not giving up on Logan.

Luke: I think you're making a terrible mistake, gumdrop, but, okay. All right, all right. It just makes me sad to think you're going to waste all this fire and determination on the Logans of this world.

Logan: Just go ahead, call the cops. Do it, because I'm sick of living like this. I'm sick of waiting, you know, around wondering if and when it's going to happen. So go ahead, pick up the phone, and call them -- do it.

Ric: You're very, very convincing. I'm just not sure how long you're going to be able to keep up this false bravado.

Logan: I'm not scared of going to prison.

Ric: Really? You might want to consider who you're leaving behind. Take Lulu Spencer, for instance. I hear the two of you have gotten very close lately. I mean, how do you think she's going to feel if you just all of a sudden get sent off to Leavenworth? I tell you what -- I'm going to hang on to this while you ponder the consequences of your actions. But in return, I expect you to dig up something useful that I can use against my brother.

Logan: How? How am I going to do that, Ric? The man -- he doesn't trust me anymore.

Ric: Well, I can see how that's going to be a problem. I'll tell you what -- why don't you just dig up anything that you can on Anthony Zacchara, better yet, I'll even settle for some damning evidence against your long-lost dad, but you find something that I can use.

Logan: Are we done here, huh? Good.

Ric: Mr. Hayes? This isn't going away. Remember I own you.

Logan: Huh. Yeah.

Georgie: So, Lulu didn't happen to mention who she was going to the black-and-white ball with, did she?

Luke: You know, Georgie, I don't even know if she's going. I'm hardly on top of my daughter's social calendar.

Georgie: Right. Forget I asked.

Tracy: Ooh. Why here? And while we're on the subject, since you are part owner, couldn't you do something about the plastic plants?

Luke: Can we talk ambiance later? I've got an important problem to discuss.

Tracy: Fine. How can I help?

Luke: I need enough leverage to force Baldwin out of town.

Tracy: Luke, the only leverage I came up with was the fact that he had a son, and we all know how well that worked out. I should've burned that report before I even read it.

Luke: Let's don't look back. Stay focused on the present. There's got to be somebody in this town who's got incriminating evidence on Baldwin just laying around waiting to be used.

Carly: Okay, can you go away?

Ric: No, in a minute.

Carly: You know what? Just because you're the D.A. doesn't mean you get to walk into anyone's house whenever you feel like it, Ric.

Ric: You might want to advise your wife to give me her full cooperation.

Jax: In regards to what exactly?

Ric: Well, in regards to the fact that surveillance indicates that Sonny's no longer in town, and the last person that he visited before he left was Carly.

Carly: So?

Ric: "So?" Did he give you any indication as to where he might be headed?

Carly: How is that any of your business?

Jax: It's not unless, of course, you have a warrant.

Ric: Well, there's a little thing here, a rumor about a mob war between Anthony Zacchara and Sonny brewing.

Jax: Well, Ric, I think you need a hell of a lot more than a rumor to open up an investigation. Do you have anything close to resembling, like, probable cause or, you know --

Ric: Oh, oh, I -- oh, I see. It doesn't seem ominous to you the fact that Sonny has just dropped out of sight all of a sudden? Unless -- unless he's given you a perfectly reasonable explanation for his absence.

Carly: Sonny doesn't have to tell me where he's going or what he's doing. He's not my husband anymore.

Ric: That's right, Carly, but you do share children and Sonny wouldn't just up and leave town without letting somebody know how to get in touch with him.

Carly: I'm not that somebody. If you want to know where Sonny is, you should go ask his lawyer.

Jax: Yes, and if you show up here again without a warrant, you'll be talking to mine. I'm sure Alexis would love a chance to beat you in court.

Ric: I'll be in touch.

Jax: Okay, what's going on? Where's Sonny?

Jason: No, the problem is people are starting to ask questions. I need to find out who's responsible for putting that bomb in Sonny's car before I can give my answers. Find a way to prove it.

Kate: This whole mob code of silence is becoming tedious, not to mention problematic. Look, all I want to do is talk to Sonny and -- and if that's not possible, can you at least have the courtesy to confirm whether he's alive?

Jason: Sonny's out of town, on business. He'll be back when it's finished.

Kate: And there's absolutely no way to talk to him?

Jason: If he checks in, I will tell him that you need to speak with him.

Kate: Jason, before I was the editor in chief of "Couture," I was the assistant to the editor in chief. I know all about the fine art of stonewalling. What's going on?

Jason: I've told you all I can.

Kate: Well, then at least confirm this -- is it time for me to start worrying?

Sam: What time does your shift start?

Lucky: Uh -- roll call? Well, it should be in, like, 20 minutes. I should get going.

Sam: I don't know, really, Detective. You are looking just a little flushed. I'm feeling you might need to call in sick and spend the rest of the day in bed with me.

Lucky: Hmm. Okay, I wish I could, but --

Sam: But -- oh. You're right -- you got to work.

Lucky: Yeah. I'm sorry, I --

Sam: No -- really, don't be. Actually, I do have a job and I should probably make an appearance before the entire crew walks off set, so --

Lucky: No, I'm sorry for what happened with Nikolas. If I sounded like I was embarrassed to be with you, I'm not.

Sam: No, no. Come on. You don't owe me any explanations. I enjoy spending time with you, but, you know, I've -- I've told you before if you're having any doubts or you don't want to continue this, then you know you're -- you're free to walk out the door, no strings attached.

Lucky: No, that is the last thing that I want. The reason that I was short with Nikolas is because he ruined my surprise. I came over here because I wanted to invite you to the ball. Would you like to be my date?

Elizabeth: Hey. Hope you don't mind -- Alfred said I could wait in here for you.

Nikolas: No, no, not at all. What brings you by?

Elizabeth: This. I just wanted to thank you in person for inviting me to the ball, and, yes, I would love to come.

Nikolas: You're welcome. It's going to be a pretty special night, I hope. It wouldn't be the same if you didn't come.

Elizabeth: You know I couldn't be happier that you and Emily have found your way back to each other. But if either of you are hoping that attending this ball will do the same for me and Lucky, please don't, because it's not going to happen.

Nikolas: No, Elizabeth, youíre far too selfish to go back to Lucky.

Elizabeth: Lucky and I agreed that having a divorce is the best thing for our family. We donít want Cameron and Jake --

Nikolas: Right, right, but you slept with another man and lied nearly a year, and now he's the one walking away from the marriage with nothing!

Emily: Nikolas, no!

Nikolas: I'm sorry, that was uncalled for.

Elizabeth: I had no idea you felt this way.

Emily: Uh -- listen, Nikolas and I are always going to wish that you and Lucky could have made your marriage work, but we'd never judge or resent you for going through with the divorce.

Elizabeth: It doesn't sound that way.

Emily: These mood swings that Nikolas has been having have been causing him to lash out, Elizabeth, even at the people that he cares about the most. And, um Ė weíre getting him treatment.

Nikolas: Elizabeth -- ahem Ė please know that I donít blame you for the divorce. If I implied otherwise I apologize -- and I hope that you are still going to come to the ball.

Elizabeth: I wouldn't miss it.

Nikolas: Thank you.

[Emily sighs]

Emily: It's not too late to cancel.

Nikolas: No, the invitations have already been sent out.

Emily: It doesnít matter, Nikolas, Alfred and I can call everybody on the guest list and cancel.

Nikolas: No, no, we're not going to go through all that trouble.

Emily: It's okay. I don't mind.

Nikolas: Why? Are you afraid I'm going to hurt someone?

Sam: You know, Nikolas has been so moody lately; I would hate to set him off by showing up to Wyndemere with you as my date.

Lucky: Okay, Nikolas invited us both to the ball. He can't choose who we take as our dates.

Sam: I get that. I just don't want to start another fight.

Lucky: Stop worrying about Nikolas and everyone else and what they would think. What do you want? I mean, would you like to go with me as my date to the ball?

Sam: Okay, look, this is the deal. I have never been big on fairy tales. In fact, I have never thought of myself as being Cinderella at some big fancy ball. But, it doesn't mean I'm going to pass up the chance to experience it with you.

Lucky: That's a yes?

Sam: That is a yes. Hold on, hold on. All right, get this straight -- Nikolas and Emily -- are you sure itís going to be okay with them? Because this is their party and I don't want to ruin it for them.

Lucky: No, no, no, you're not going to.

Sam: All right, one last thing. Emily and Elizabeth are like best friends, right? I just Ė I think they're probably expecting the two of you to show up together.

Lucky: Elizabeth and I are getting a divorce. And sometimes it's better to let the past go and move on. And I'd like to start that by taking you to the ball --

Sam: Me?

Lucky: Tomorrow night.

Sam: Hmm. Well. Let me think. Okay.

[Lucky chuckles]

Sam: I can hardly wait.

Luke: What's that?

Tracy: We have been invited to a masquerade ball at Wyndemere.

Luke: Spoon Island? Not my idea of a party. Doesn't seem like your cup of tea, either.

Tracy: It isn't. In fact, I hate everything having to do with the Cassadines. However, this says that Nikolas is going to make an endowment to the hospital in Alan's name.

Luke: Oh, you're going to skim a little off the top? Why didn't you say so? Iíll have Alice dust off my undertaker drag.

Tracy: Forget about the money.

Luke: Why? Your dearly departed brother in on this?

Tracy: No. More like your daughter. I figure Lulu's going to attend with Logan Hayes, and it would behoove us to keep an eye on them.

Luke: Oh, right. And if I can get some leverage - enough to send Baldwin and his son off -- that would be the perfect time to spring it on them, wouldn't it?

[Tracy gasps]

Tracy: Blackmail at the ball? How charming.

Luke: I always say, if you're going to squeeze someone, it's only common courtesy to do it in black tie.

Carly: There's nothing to worry about.

Jax: You know what? The D.A. just doesn't show up on people's doorsteps without a reason.

Carly: You want a reason? Ric is a twisted, jealous freak who lives to make trouble for Sonny Ė itís easy.

Jax: Do you know where Sonny is or not?

Carly: Yes, I do. He's in Puerto Rico. He had a meeting at one of his casinos.

Jax: Then why did he stop by here?

Carly: He wanted to say goodbye to the boys. He didn't know if the negotiations were going to take two days or two weeks. The boys were still out to dinner with the Bryans so thatís what happened.

Jax: Why couldn't you tell Ric that?

Carly: Because I don't want to tell Ric anything -- with or without a warrant. I thank you. Thank you for backing me, my wonderful husband.

Jax: Well, you know what? Maybe you can return the favor by telling my why you are so determined to go to this ball.

[Knock on door]

Lulu: Hi. Are you going to the ball Nikolas is throwing?

Jax: No.

Carly: Yes. Come here, okay? Just let me get Jason over here and ask him about the ball. And if he agrees to go with me, we can, you know, discuss it from there.

Jax: I'm not letting this go.

Carly: I didn't think you would.

Jax: Okay.

Carly: Okay.

Jax: Hi.

Lulu: Hi -- bye.

[Carly chuckles]

Lulu: What was that about?

Carly: Oh, you don't want to know. What's up with you? What's going on?

Lulu: Um -- I came to let you know upfront that I'm bringing Logan to the ball. So, I know that you can't Stan if you're going to trash him or tell me what a huge mistake I'm making, please get it out of your system right now, because I don't want to make a huge scene at the ball tomorrow night.

Carly: Okay, first of all, I Ė I wouldnít make a scene, okay? Okay, maybe a small scene.

Lulu: Okay. You can please just ignore us; pretend we're not even there.

Carly: I'm not going to be anywhere near you and Logan, okay? I have some plans of my own.

Kate: I'd appreciate an answer. If something has happened to Sonny, I'd like to know.

Jason: Iíve told you as much as I can.

Kate: Which is effectively nothing, Jason. Don't you think that Sonny would want me to know that he was all right?

[Knock on door]

Jason: What -- what do you want?

Ric: I have some questions for you.

Jason: Why don't you ask somebody who cares?

Ric: Try to relax, Jason, okay? This is off the record. I just need to know where my brother is.

Kate: I would like an answer to that question, as well.

Jason: Sonny's away on business.

Ric: Hmm. Nothing can be verified.

Jason: Moonlighting as a travel agent?

Ric: Okay. As Sonnyís former attorney, I am well acquainted with all of Sonny's holdings in Central and South America, including his Puerto Rican casinos. Sonny didn't happen to mention if he was going to Puerto Rico, did he?

Kate: Oh, Sonny and I don't discuss his business.

Sonny: Well the reason I'm asking inquiries into the Puerto Rican casinos, as well as other properties that Sonny has down there, and nobody has seen or heard from him. And that sends up a red flag, Kate. Couple that with the limo explosion on a private airstrip in Puerto Rico and you can see why I'm concerned. Where is my brother?

Epiphany: Where is Mrs. Barnes' blood panel? Dr. Morucci ordered it an hour ago.

Nadine: I just picked it up from the lab and Dr. Morucci is going over the results right now.

Epiphany: Huh. Okay, well, then you can take care of these things. The head trauma in 1045 is still waiting for a psych consult, and Mr. Sharp's vitals need to be updated.

Nadine: Actually, I checked in on Mr. Sharp on my way back from the lab. His BP is 110/62.

Epiphany: Huh. You know, you have the makings to be a really excellent nurse. You're efficient, you have a good bedside manner, and you're pleasant to be around. But then again, so was your sister.

Nadine: Jolene and I are very different people. And I know it's going to take me some time to prove that, but I will. You'll see.

Cassius: Ah. Looking for this?

Epiphany: Why is everybody being so damn helpful around here lately?

Cassius: I'm just trying to keep up with you, Nurse Johnson. Oh, from what I can see, you set the bar pretty high.

Epiphany: You know what, why don't you save the charm, and go make up Room 1009.

Cassius: You know what? It was nice to see you again, Nurse Johnson.

Spinelli: Greetings.

Nadine: Mr. Jackal. What can I do for you?

Spinelli: Um -- you will no doubt immediately refuse the Jackal's invitation, um, which, of course, would be your prerogative, and I fully expect it. But -- um -- grasshopper made a promise to his master that he would at least make an effort, so therefore, I was wondering, um, since the seemingly sweet one is new in town have been asked to the festivities at Wyndemere as of yet, would you care to accompany me?

Nadine: Are you asking me out on a date?

Georgie: It is about time you got here. I was supposed to get off about 15 minutes ago.

Lulu: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I'm late -- I had to deal with some ball stuff.

Georgie: Fine. Who are you going to the ball with?

Lulu: Logan.

Georgie: Great.

Lulu: Oh. Not quite the reaction I've gotten from everyone else.

Georgie: Well, it's just that -- um -- do you know if Spinelli has a date yet?

Lulu: Uh -- I don't think so, why?

Georgie: He will soon. Okay, bye.

Lulu: Bye.

Georgie: Oh Ė Hi. Bye.

Logan: If you're supposed to be working, I can come back.

Lulu: No, sit. Sit, sit.

Logan: Are you sure?

Lulu: Um -- this place is dead. Besides, there's something really important I want to talk about.

Logan: Yeah, me, too. You mind if I go first?

Lucky: Dad?

Luke: Hey, son.

Lucky: Hey, it's good to see you.

Luke: You, too.

Lucky: Yeah.

Luke: Uh -- uh -- this is kind of a bad time.

Lucky: Well, hey, I got the message you left about Mom, and I would have been by sooner, but I got a lot going on at home.

Luke: Sure, no problem, but like I said, I'm kind of busy here.

Lucky: Am I interrupting something?

Luke: Are you asking in an official capacity?

Lucky: Well, I haven't checked in yet. What's -- what's with the suit?

Luke: Oh, well -- I'm working on a project.

Lucky: In the D.A.'s office?

Luke: Look, either arrest me or keep walking.

Lucky: It's good to have you back, Dad.

Luke: Well, it's great to see you.

Carly: Hey.

Jason: What's going on?

Carly: Well, you tell me. Ric came by asking a whole bunch of questions about Sonny, wanted to know if I've seen him since last night or heard from him.

Jason: Ric came by my place fishing for the same information.

Carly: Sonny's okay, right?

Jason: There are problems.

Carly: What kind of problems?

Jason: Carly, I can't talk about it --

Carly: Yes, you can. If something happened to Sonny, you can tell me, Jason. What's going on?

Jason: I -- I just went through this with Kate, okay? I can't --

Carly: Wow. Kate? I was married to Sonny. I have two kids with him. You're my best friend, and now I'm in the same category as Sonny's new girlfriend, Kate?

Jason: That's not what I was doing, Carly.

Carly: That's exactly what you did. But you know what? I know how you can make it up to me. You can be my date to the black-and-white ball.

Jason: Huh. Okay, sure. What the hell are you up to?

[Emily sighs]

Emily: I can't believe how gorgeous the house looks.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Emily: But you know, it wouldn't that difficult to push the ball back --

Nikolas: No Ė

Emily: A couple of weeks. I mean, besides the flowers, everything can stay up.

Nikolas: No, no, Emily, I have no intention of letting this Ė this illness define me or force us to change our plans in any way.

Emily: Look, I appreciate that you're trying to give me a fairy-tale night to remember, but you don't have to pretend like everything's all right if itís not.

Nikolas: I'm not going to give up on the things that bring me joy in my life, starting with you. You understand? I want nothing more than to dance with you in that ballroom tomorrow night and make at least one of your wishes come true.

Emily: Okay. So then that's what we'll do.

Nikolas: All right, I'm sorry.

[Nikolas sighs]

Nikolas: Listen, I -- I've been thinking that once this thing is diagnosed and then hopefully treated, I may have to recuperate for a little while, and I thought instead of doing it here -- why don't you think of a place for us to go and take Spencer on a trip?

Emily: Okay. Uh, where do you want to go?

Nikolas: I don't care. Anywhere -- anywhere in the world. Just as long as we're all together.

Nadine: I don't know what to say.

Spinelli: The Jackal takes no offense at your kind refusal. In fact, it is not in the least bit surprising that a gentle angel of mercy, even one related to the falsely fair Jolene, would spurn such an overture. Perhaps you'll reconsider when you learn that the Jackal is a -- is a close and loyal friend of Stone Cold, not to mention a member of --

Nadine: It's just, I've never been to a formal event before. I mean, besides junior and senior prom, but I have a feeling this is a whole different thing.

Spinelli: Oh -- um -- is the seemingly sweet one considering the Jackal's offer?

Nadine: Going to a real ball at that castle in the middle of the lake sounds amazing.

Spinelli: It does? Yes, it -- it does.

Nadine: Thank you very much for asking, Mr. Jackal. I would love to be your date for the ball.

Carly: Why do you always assume that I'm up to something?

Jason: Are you serious?

Carly: What? Can't I just go to the ball with my best friend?

Jason: You know I don't like getting dressed up or dancing -- my two favorite things.

Carly: I know, okay, but I thought maybe this once, you can make an exception. I mean, Emily is hosting the ball. Nikolas is giving a large endowment in Alan's name to the hospital, and you know it would mean so much to Emily for you to be there.

Jason: Since when do you care about Emily?

Carly: I don't, okay? I don't. But I know you do and this is me making an effort.

Jason: No. Something else is going on. If you really wanted to go to the ball, you would just have Jax take you.

Carly: But it's not the same.

Jason: Why? Why do you need me to take you?

[Door opens]

Luke: Do you keep all the good citizens of Port Charles waiting around like this?

Ric: Good citizens don't normally rummage through the D.A.'s desk.

Luke: Well, a guy's got to do something to keep himself entertained.

Ric: It's called breaking and entering, Mr. Spencer, so -- would you prefer that I -- I have Lucky do the honors of arresting you again? Or do want to ask Mac to send another officer?

Trevor: What happened?

Johnny: He's gone. Why did you double the guards around the house when they should be out looking for him?

Trevor: Because your father canít bear to be away from you for any length of time. And when he comes back, I want you to be here.

Trevor: What are you doing?

Johnny: Give me my keys.

Trevor: Put the gun down.

Johnny: Call off the guards. I need to get to my father before he finds Lulu Spencer.

Logan: Ric Lansing called me into his office today.

Lulu: Why?

Logan: He wants information on Sonny.

Lulu: But you only worked for Sonny for a couple of months.

Logan: Yes, yes, I know. And I told him that, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. He's got proof that I --

Lulu: If Ric's harassing you, tell Scott. After all, he is the special prosecutor.

Logan: You don't really understand.

Lulu: I know -- I know you don't want to ask Scott for help, but he can get Ric off your back. It's not like he has anything on you, right?

Logan: Right.

Lulu: Yeah, so, problem solved. Now, not to be self-centered or anything, but can we get back to what I wanted to ask you about?

Logan: Yes.

Lulu: Um -- my brother Nikolas is having a ball at Wyndemere on October 31.

Logan: Uh-huh.

Lulu: How would you like to be my date?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Trevor: You're going to have to shoot me, Johnny. I'm not going to let you go.

Johnny: I should have killed you years ago.

Logan: I would love to take you to the ball.

Carly: You should be there just in case.

Jason: In case what?
