Kelly: Hey. The appointment is set for this morning.

Robin: I think he's feeling a little nervous.

Kelly: Oh, that's understandable -- most men do. Oh, I'll reassure him that it's simple and quick. Once the sample is frozen, you'll be able to schedule your own procedure at your discretion.

Robin: Great. Things are moving right along.

Kelly: They sure are.

Leyla: You look a little shell-shocked.

Patrick: Robin actually found a guy to father her baby.

Jason: I want to walk through the warehouse and assess the fire damage, but can you just do me a favor? Can you put a call into the construction crew, because we need to start rebuilding as soon as possible, Max, okay? All right, thank you. I'll see you later.

Spinelli: Does -- does Stone Cold notice a change in the Jackal's biceps?

Jason: Should I?

Spinelli: Well, perhaps it's not yet visible to the naked eye, but -- the Jackal's been lifting -- I've been -- I've been lifting weights. I thought it would be fitting, you know, to man up, now that I'm going to become a patriarch.

Lulu: You're what?

[Music plays]

Trevor: I'm not going to risk Sonny exposing me as the de facto head of the Zacchara organization. Eliminate him.

Man: We're making arrangements.

Trevor: Now, he's very well-guarded. Lure him away from Port Charles.

Singer: Miles to find my way

Carly: I know what you're doing.

Trevor: Somehow I doubt that.

Ric: So, why does my brother want to see me?

Sonny: It's about your father.

Ric: I -- I'm sorry. I was just thinking, you know, he's my father, you're my brother. The two of you are mortal enemies in love with the same woman -- a shrink would have a field day with that. It seems a little dysfunctional, don't you think?

Sonny: Try this for dysfunctional -- Trevor is running the Zacchara mob in Anthony's name, and he's making a fool out of you.

Nadine: Morning, Nurse Johnson.

Epiphany: Oh, right on time, Nurse Crowell. That's a good start for what may prove to be a very challenging first day.

Nadine: I realize people associate me with Jolene.

Epiphany: Nurse Crowell, your sister hurt a lot of innocent people, so don't expect anyone around here to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Nadine: Okay.

Kelly: I have to admit I was a -- a little surprised at your choice of sperm donor.

Robin: Well, Spinelli is one of the most intelligent people that I know.

Kelly: True, true. But he's also a little -- shall we say socially inept?

Robin: Well, I think that's more behavioral than genetic.

Kelly: You hope.

Robin: I -- Spinelli is kind and -- and charming, and he has excellent genes to contribute.

Patrick: Do me a favor? Can you get Dr. Lee's schedule for this morning?

Leyla: You realize you're acting obsessively?

Patrick: Look, Leyla, I know I should detach from this. But I still care about Robin, and I can't help but think this desire for a child is a direct reaction of our breakup.

Leyla: And what if it is?

Patrick: Then --

Leyla: Then what, you're going to stop her? Because I think you already tried, and she said in no uncertain terms it's none of your business.

Patrick: Yeah, I know that. So chalk it up to curiosity. Can you please just do me a favor and get her schedule?

Leyla: "Damian Spinelli, scheduled for 10:00."

Patrick: Spinelli? What the hell is she thinking?

Leyla: What's wrong with Spinelli?

Patrick: Spinelli, the father of Robin's baby?

Leyla: Yeah.

Patrick: I mean, that just goes to show she's not thinking with a clear head.

Leyla: Patrick, Spinelli happens to be intelligent and sweet. Why wouldn't she want him to be the father of her child?

Spinelli: Uh -- Dr. Robin Scorpio asked the Jackal to father her progeny-to-be.

Lulu: But she hardly even knows you.

Spinelli: Well, I -- I mean, close friendship is not a factor in chromosomal selection. I mean, she -- she chose the Jackal because of his intelligence and genetic superiority.

Lulu: That was very -- uh -- generous of you to agree.

Spinelli: Well, I mean, it was a -- it was a bit unexpected, but I -- you know I felt it was my -- my duty to comply. Just -- just think, the offspring of Dr. Robin and -- and the Jackal is sure t--

Lulu: No, this is actually a really uncomfortable subject for me. Um, good luck, though.

Spinelli: Stone Cold? Was I insensitive in -- in light of, you know, the Blond One's experiences with unwanted pregnancy?

Jason: Well, she's concerned.

Spinelli: Why -- why would she be concerned? I mean, I'm -- I'm looking at this with most -- much enthusiasm and -- and confidence.

Jason: It was a big decision, and you made it very fast.

Spinelli: I mean, Dr. Robin seemed eager for a decision.

Jason: You're going to father a child and agree to stay out of his or her life. Can you do that?

Trevor: I'm really interested in what you think I've been up to.

Man: I'll call you when things are in place.

Trevor: Thank you.

Man: Ma'am.

Carly: You can skip the phony charm.

Trevor: But I am charmed by you, Mrs. Jacks -- or do you still go by Carly Corinthos?

Carly: Don't try and distract me, I know the truth. Know that you're running the Zacchara organization in Anthony's name.

Trevor: Well, if you really suspect that, perhaps you should talk it over with your husband.

Carly: I have, and you know what? The truth is out. The word is spreading. Your high-society image is tarnishing right before your eyes.

Trevor: But you don't seem particularly worried that I might be a ruthless mob boss.

Carly: That's because I know you and Jax have a deal that guarantees my family's safety.

Trevor: Then why are we having this discussion?

Carly: Because you must realize that your business is done here, and it's time for you to leave.

Luke: Trevor Lansing?

Trevor: Yes?

Luke: Luke Spencer. You and I may be in a position to help each other.

Ric: My father is not running the Zacchara mob, Sonny. He would never risk getting his hands dirty, and he values his prestige and his social contacts far too much.

Sonny: Well, Trevor's arrogant enough to think he can get away with it.

Ric: There's a difference between arrogance and stupidity. An association with known organized crime figures is going to destroy a reputation my father spent years cultivating.

Sonny: I don't think Trevor planned on running the business, I think it just kind of fell in his lap. You see, Anthony is insane and he's been deteriorating for years, and Trevor's had to cover that up, and he's been taking more control of the business.

Ric: So you've -- you've met with Anthony Zacchara?

Sonny: Yep. He's a recluse who's surrounded by guards and keepers, while your father runs the organization.

Ric: But, you see, my father was desperate to find Johnny Zacchara. If Anthony is as helpless as you say he is, then why would Trevor even bother?

Sonny: Anthony is certifiable, but he still has power. And I'm telling you, if your father loses control of him, we're all in a bloodbath.

Spinelli: The Jackal appreciates Stone Cold's words of wisdom, but my situation differs greatly r own. See, I will be a father by genetic sample only. My -- my DNA will be harvested to conjoin with Dr. Robin's egg in the sterile environment of a Petri dish. After that, she has the freedom to revel in her maternal bliss as I fade into cyberspace.

Jason: When that baby is born, you're going to look at that kid and you're going to see a part of yourself.

Spinelli: The Jackal is familiar with Stone Cold's secret pain.

Jason: I know you, Spinelli. You're going to love that child.

Spinelli: But, see, the difference is I -- I know what I'm -- I know what I'm getting into. I mean, you were -- you didn't know that the small Stone Cold one existed for months. And then when you did find out, the maternal one urgently requested you don't even --

Jason: And you're the one who pushed me harder than anyone to claim Jake as my own.

Spinelli: Stone Cold, you were so miserable.

Jason: No -- you told me that Jake would want to know his real father someday. I'm just saying your child might want the same thing.

Spinelli: And I would welcome my progeny's overture, but I doubt it --

Jason: I miss Jake all the time. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Lulu: I came by to apologize for blowing up when you were trying to warn me against Logan.

Carly: Are you coming to tell me you dumped him?

Lulu: Huh. Hmm.

[Carly laughs]

Lulu: Carly, we agreed to try again. And I know you only want to help, so I apologize for jumping all defensive.

Carly: Okay, I'm sorry, too. You know, diplomacy really isn't my strong suit.

Lulu: Mine, either, in case you haven't noticed.

Carly: I love you, and I'm looking out for you, and I don't know really how to keep my mouth shut -- I'm sorry.

Lulu: I -- I am going into this with my eyes wide open.

Carly: Okay. I know what you want to see in Logan, I'm just worried that it's really not there, okay? Not every bad boy has a heart of gold, and I'm thinking he just doesn't have it.

Lulu: Okay, can we just agree to disagree and -- and not talk about this anymore?

Carly: Okay, you're an adult; you can see whoever you want to see. All right, I'm just going to ask you one question. Okay, just -- just one.

[Lulu chuckles]

Carly: Do you trust Logan or are you just getting back with him to prove a point?

Luke: I understand you're representing Anthony Zacchara.

Trevor: Well, it's a professional ethic of mine never to mention my clients' names.

Luke: I understand Mr. Zacchara is looking to do business in Port Charles. If that's true, he's going to need piers for docking, warehousing, transportation.

Trevor: Come to the point, Mr. Spencer.

Luke: The point is the only available waterfront property in this town belongs to the estate of Lorenzo Alcazar. If you're interested in those holdings, you have to deal with me as a middleman.

Trevor: If any of this were supposedly true, are you really in a position to deliver that property?

Luke: I'm in a position to open negotiations.

Trevor: Well, I might call you back soon. Till then, I have some other business to take care of.

Luke: Certainly. My card.

Trevor: Thank you.

Sonny: For Trevor to continue to run the business, he has to keep Anthony quiet -- that's where Johnny comes in.

Ric: Oh, so he's his father's keeper?

Sonny: Well, apparently, he's, you know, obsessed with his son, and Trevor uses Johnny to placate him.

Ric: In other words, they have to make sure that Johnny stays at home --

Sonny: But he doesn't want to stay at home.

Ric: And if Johnny runs off, then they run the risk of Anthony going after him.

Sonny: Exactly. Trevor has to keep Anthony out of sight, and, you know, the Zacchara's' reputation for violence and power is what gives the business its muscle. But nobody can know that Anthony's insane, and that Trevor's running the show.

Ric: Interesting theory. But what do you expect me to do about it?

Sonny: Well, you're always looking for a high-profile takedown. Why don't you bust Trevor? I mean, he’s head of a crime family, he's guilty of extortion and murder -- come on, Ric --

Ric: So you're honestly suggesting that I arrest my own father?

Sonny: You hate him. Why don't you -- now is your chance to put him away for life. I mean, isn't that what he deserves after the way he's treated you all these years?

Emily: Invitation for Mr. Jason Morgan. We're having a black and white ball at Wyndemere -- just your kind of party.

Jason: Do you want me to come?

Emily: Of course. But my feelings won't be hurt if you say no. I just wanted you to know you're invited. Nikolas is going to announce an endowment to the hospital in Dad's name.

Jason: Alan would appreciate that.

Emily: I wish Dad could be there. Like I wish that I could have a waltz with my big brother but, you know, I'd never submit you to that kind of torture, and I'm sure that Nikolas would be more than happy to dance with me.

Jason: Is Nikolas going to be able to handle all this stuff or --

Emily: You know, he's going to have more tests, and Patrick's pretty confident that he's going to be able to be diagnosed.

Jason: Okay. Well, you just let me know if you need anything.

Emily: Okay, thanks, I will. How about you? Have you heard from Elizabeth?

Jason: No.  Uh -- how --

[Emily chuckles]

Jason: How is she?

Emily: Yesterday was a little tough. She and Lucky had the divorce mediation.

Sam:  Okay -- um -- I got a cut on my leg when I was canoeing on location, and the nurse said the stitches are due to come out today, so --

Elizabeth: If you wait in the lounge, I'll call you an intern.

Sam: Why are you throwing me attitude? I mean, you can't possibly care that I'm sleeping with your husband.

Elizabeth:  One more notch on your bedpost.

Sam: You are in absolutely no position to criticize.

Elizabeth: I don't seduce other people's husbands for payback.

Sam: Your husband happens to be a wonderful man, not that you bothered to notice.

Elizabeth:  Lucky is hurt and angry and vulnerable. He has no idea what a lying bitch you are.

Sam: And who hurt him? Who made him angry, who made him vulnerable? That would be you, the biggest lying hypocrite of them all.

Nikolas: I don't think this is the time or place for this conversation, Sam.

Lulu: What would I be trying to prove, exactly, by getting back with Logan?

Carly: Well, you could be trying to prove that everyone was wrong about him.

Lulu: I am way past that.

Carly: Or you could be on the rebound.

Lulu: From what?

Carly: Why don't you tell me a little bit about what happened the last time you saw Johnny Zacchara.

Lulu: I'm sorry, that is way out of left field.

Carly: No, see, I've been on the rebound so many times. I know what it looks like.

Lulu: No, no, no, no! This is -- no, this is nothing like --

Carly: Okay.

Lulu: With you going from Sonny to Alcazar or whatever. What I have with Logan is some serious history, and when I got into that car with Johnny, I was rebounding from Logan.

Carly: You sat up talking to him all night long.

Lulu: Yeah, we had fun -- no big deal.

Carly: Yeah, then you disappear with him a few nights later.

Lulu: Yeah, well, he actually took off with me, and I didn't really have much choice in the matter.

Carly: And then when his father's men abducted you and took you back to the estate, Johnny showed up and rescued you.

Lulu: Yeah, and he tried to pay me off and shove me out the front door.  well, I guess our joyrides are over -- good riddance.

Carly:  I think you're overcompensating. I think you're getting back with Logan, because you want to prove you don't feel anything for Johnny Zacchara.

Lulu: Johnny and I barely know each other.

Carly: That's why you disappeared with him twice.

Lulu: The only thing we have in common is that we have an urge to run away from our lives. Although, Johnny's life seems a lot worse than mine.

Johnny: You wanted to see me?

Anthony: Where have you been?

Johnny: I was down in the gym working out.

Anthony: You're lying.

Johnny: I was on the treadmill -- you can go down and look if you don't believe me.

Anthony: You leave without permission, disobey your own father. you're a liar -- just like all the rest of them, even that worm Trevor.

Johnny: I'm here now, okay? I didn't leave. I haven't left.

Anthony: But you will. You think I won't know, but I'll find out. I always do. You know the only one I could ever trust was your mother, and she betrayed me, too.

Johnny: You want to go for a walk in the garden --

Anthony: She died and left. It's hell to be left!

Johnny: He's okay.

Anthony: Don't worry, Johnny. It won't happen to you. I will never let any woman treat you the way your mother treated me.

Sonny: Anthony's been out of his mind for years.

Ric: We don't have proof, Sonny.

Sonny: Run an investigation if you don't believe me. Trevor's been, you know, giving the orders -- the man behind the curtain.

Ric: Okay, let's say I do come up with proof that my father's still running Zacchara's organization all these years, what's to keep him from eliminating him?

Sonny: You scared of your father?

Ric: Well, I'm sorry. Let's just say I'm not terribly eager to become a target.

Sonny: Well, maybe he'll -- he'll get some shred of sympathy for you, and then protect you.

Ric: Yeah, you know what, Sonny? My father hates me almost as much as you do. So if he kills me, you win. And if I put Trevor away, you win. Forgive me; I'm only seeing an upside for you in all of this.

Sonny: You've been wanting to pay your dad back for years, Ric.

Ric: Yeah, that's right, and I'm going to do it, but not to your benefit.

Sonny: You know, you're missing a golden opportunity to --

Ric: You know what? Here' another option, Sonny. Why don't Dad and I team up to bring you down, huh? There it is -- after all these year, I finally get to bond with my father over a common goal. How could I pass that up?

 [Knock on door]

Kate: I'll come back later.

Sonny: No, this meeting's over.

Ric: You know what, just out of curiosity, Kate. Has Sonny tried to sell you on this whole theory that Trevor's a secret mob boss?

Sam: Why are you defending Elizabeth when she hurt your brother?

Nikolas: Look, she's working right now. It's not acceptable to talk about this here.

Sam: Some people might find it unacceptable that Elizabeth married Lucky without even bothering to tell him that she slept with Jason and -- she's stalking him. Coming up with any excuse in the book to spend time with him.

Nikolas: Sam, Sam! What happens between Elizabeth and Lucky is their own business.

Sam: Hello -- I was living with Jason at the time.

Nikolas: Just let it go.

Sam: Thank you, Cousin Nikolas. Where would I be without you?

Elizabeth: Oh -- thanks. She just walked right up and started in on me.

Nikolas: It seems that she's upset about more than just losing Jason. She just can't let it go.

Jason: Elizabeth's divorce is none of my business.

Emily:  Well, yeah, Diane probably gave you all the details.

Jason:  Diane won't violate attorney/client privilege.

Emily: The point is Elizabeth is now officially free, and I helped her move into this cute little house that she's renting. Jase, you should see it.

Jason: I'm glad she's happy.

Emily: Elizabeth's about as happy as she can be while she's separated from you which isn't very happy at all. And from the way you're hurting, Jase, I can see how much you miss her, too. Love is too precious to waste, so why should you and Elizabeth be apart?

Luke: Well, thank you for meeting me on short notice, Blaze. It's really good to see you.

Skye: Well, it's good to see you too, Luke -- except for the strings that always come to be attached.

Luke: Can't a friend call another friend for a drink?

Skye: Well, you see, except that drink always comes with a self-serving agenda.

Luke: You've toughened up since I saw you last.

Skye: Well, I've had no choice -- due to Alcazar's mysterious disappearance.

Luke: You know, if I had to lay a bet, I'd say that you not only knew about the hit on Lorenzo, you had something to do with it.

Skye: Well, necessity is the mother of invention, especially where the welfare if my child is concerned.

Luke: Lorenzo underestimated you.

Skye: Something you've never been guilty of.

Luke: You are as smart as you are beautiful, Red.

Skye: Oh, you were counting on those looks to do what for you, exactly?

Luke: Is it just me, or did we used to be better at foreplay?

Skye: Well, Luke, we were very different people then -- both footloose and fancy-free, unattached. And now I am a woman with responsibilities, and you are a very married man. So tell me, Luke. What do you want?

Luke: All right. There is some very valuable waterfront property that belonged to Lorenzo, and I'm quite confident that it has passed into your lovely hands. I think you and I could turn a nice profit with that property.

Skye: Well, controlling those piers has made me a very popular lady.

Kate: Sonny doesn't have to sell me on anything. I weigh the evidence and form my own opinion.

Ric: Oh, come on, Kate. You were Trevor's mistress for five years. Do you honestly believe that he was secretly running the Zacchara family all of that time?

Kate: Like you, Trevor is driven, ambitious, and morally bankrupt.

Ric: Well, it's interesting how quickly you turned against him.

Kate: Trevor framed me on phony drunk driving charges. He made me lose my position at "Couture," and he tried to take everything else I've ever worked for.

Ric: Well, maybe he was just adjusting to the fact that you were becoming so close with Sonny.

Sonny: Make your point, Ric, or get out of here.

Ric: You know, the part about this that is so fascinating me is your assertion that Anthony Zacchara is crazy.

Sonny: I met the man, Ric. He's in no position to choose his own suits, much less run a business.

Ric: Right, well, I can see how that would happen, right, Sonny? A man, none too stable to begin with -- he wallows in violence and grief until he goes completely insane.

Sonny: Are we going to do this now?

Ric: Did you recognize Zacchara when you met with him, Sonny? I mean, come on, maybe he is bipolar, too, huh? Maybe he tried to get treatment and then, you know -- how does it all work with chemical imbalances in the brain, Sonny, huh? You start thinking you're normal, you forget your medication, and then, boom, you're in trouble? Maybe that's what happened with Zacchara, and now he's barking at the walls. Wonder how long it's going to be before that happens to you.

Sonny: He's trying to scare you away from me. Is it working?

Robin: Spinelli?

Spinelli: Hi.

Robin: Hi. Thank you so much for doing this, it means a lot to me.

Spinelli: The -- the Jackal is -- is happy to assist.

Kelly: Okay, are you done with the forms?

Spinelli: Yes, completed as requested.

Kelly: All righty, then. Follow me.

Spinelli: Don't worry, Dr. Robin. The Jackal is healthy and able-bodied.

Robin: Good luck.

Patrick: Poor kid looks like a nervous wreck.

Robin: He's doing his best.

Patrick: Robin, if you're having second thoughts, now is the time to say so.

Luke: So someone else is interested in Lorenzo’s piers?

Skye: No comment.

Luke: You're playing a dangerous game here, red. Anybody interested in that property wants it for illegal shipping.

Skye: I'm well aware of that, Luke.

Luke: You need a partner you can trust.

Skye: And you're a willing volunteer?

Luke: We have history, most of it pretty memorable.

Skye: Hmm. Some other adjectives spring to mind.

Luke: We ran a pretty successful operation there at the casino for quite a while. And you know that if I make a deal, I'm good for it. I'll cover your back, and I would never double-cross you.

Skye: You wouldn't dare.

Luke: That, too. So who else is interested in the property?

Skye: Ric Lansing think the Zaccharas will want Lorenzo’s waterfront properties. He's offered to broker the deal.

Luke: All right. I can do one better than Lansing.

Skye: How's that?

Luke: I'll broker the deal, you cut me in on the profit, and I'll keep you out of a mob war.

Johnny: What part of "goodbye" don't you get?

Lulu: I don't like being manipulated for my own good.

Johnny: I'm busy. If you changed your mind about the money --

Lulu: I got home, and I started thinking about the total 180 that you pulled and it hit me. You blew me off because you're trying to protect me, so drop the act and be honest. Am I in danger, and from who?

Kate: Can I ask you something?

Sonny: Yeah, you can ask me anything you want, but a lot of what Ric said was true, so --

Kate: Okay, so why do you think for one second that I would let your bitter, manipulative, pathologically jealous brother -- even on the best day he lived -- frighten me away from you?

Sonny: First of all, it is true that I am bipolar. And it is also true that I live a very stressful and violent life, right? So two things that he --

Kate: And did we not discuss this the other night?

Sonny: Yes -- yes, we did.

Kate: Do you want my friend's phone number -- Linda in the city? You can call her. She can tell you we've been friends for 10 years, and that she is, in fact, bipolar.

Sonny: Well, you know what? It would seem a little intrusive of me to call a stranger, to check up on her because you want me -- why -- why are you asking me these questions, and why --

Kate: Because I dislike your brother very much.

Sonny: Welcome to the club.

Kate: No, Ric has played a pivotal role in the most negative experiences I've had here in Port Charles, and the very bottom was the night that I -- that I basically offered to publicly humiliate you to save my own skin.

Sonny: You lied -- I'm not holding that against you.

Kate: Well, I do, Sonny. It doesn't matter that I had no intention of actually going through with it. I compromised myself and my feelings for you, and I -- I basically groveled at the feet of the man that I loathe. And the very worst part is that he is trying to use your illness against you like he did just now, and he thinks that because of the way that I behaved that night in the park that somehow I'm going to be complicit.

Sonny: But it's like what you said before -- you know that Ric is pathologically jealous -- and you're right. Trevor gave my mother an impossible choice, and she chose me. It doesn't matter that Ric grew up rich or that he went to an Ivy League school or that he has a beautiful daughter. For whatever stupid reason, he wants me to pay for my mother's choice. Do you get what -- it doesn't make any sense, but he wants me to suffer like he thinks he did.

Kate: It's sad.

Sonny: It is sad.

Kate: It is sad, but it would be only sad -- but he actually is in a position to use the law as a weapon.

Sonny: Yeah, but you know what? Any D.A. is going to want to take me down, and I'm -- I'm just glad that it's Ric, because he's emotionally involved, which means he's easy to manipulate, if you know what I mean.

Kate: That doesn't bother you?

Sonny: What?

Kate: That he implies you should be ashamed of being bipolar?

Sonny: Actually, it's the exact opposite. You know, a lot of times when he's in my face saying that I'm crazy or whatever, what I really want to say to him, "Yeah, I am bipolar, but I'm still running rings around your sorry ass." You know what I mean? I mean, yeah, I -- I've gone to therapy and I'm taking medication, and you know what? It's worked -- I haven't had another breakdown, I'm -- I'm running a business, living a life. And what about -- what about Ric? He can barely function because he's going after something that he'll never get. He wants my mother to choose him -- guess what -- she's dead, ain't going to happen. But, you know, in a way, it's good that he pisses me off, because I don't have a lot of time to think how ashamed I am of something I can't change.

Kate: I admire how you deal with your condition. And I am truly sorry that I ever paid lip service to Ric and his hateful vendetta.

Sonny: I know why you went to the park to meet with -- with Ric. You were all Kate-Howard up, you wanted to cut a deal. And then halfway through the conversation, Connie Falconeri was standing there thinking, "You know, I want to beat the hell out of this guy." Am I -- come on, am I right?

Kate: Maybe you know me.

Sonny: Maybe I know you?

Kate: A little.

Sonny: Just a little?

Kate: A lot.

Sonny: A lot.

Jason: The warehouse is in much better shape than I expected, that's for sure.

Max: Well, it's like the explosion wasn't meant to cause any damages.

Jason: Yeah, which doesn't make any sense if it was a warning from Zacchara.

[Phone rings]

Jason: Yes?

Spinelli: Stone Cold, please, please come to the hospital. The situation is most dire.

Jason: Stop.

Spinelli: The Jackal is incapable of performing on demand; Stone Cold must take his place.

Sonny: No, no, nada. Hasta quga.

Kate: That didn't sound promising.

Sonny: Ah, they -- my casino partners want a face-to-face meeting.

Kate: Is that a violation of mob etiquette?

Sonny: I don't appreciate being summoned.

Kate: Okay, see, that -- that I understand. No one summons Kate Howard, she summons -- them. Well, she used to, till she sideswiped one car too many and wound up emptying bedpans.

Sonny: Come on, you don't seriously do that.

Kate: Not often.

Sonny: Are you serious? You know -- you know how much money I give to that hospital?

Kate: It's not a big deal, Sonny.

Sonny: Yes, it is a big deal, because -- community service is one thing, but I don't like them embarrassing you like that.

Kate: Well, it's not like I've been singled out -- all the orderlies have to do it. It's -- it's part of the job.

Sonny: Well, it's not part of yours. I'm going to call these people.

Kate: I do not want you to make a phone call.

Sonny: I don't care what you want.

Kate: Well, I do, Sonny. I wouldn't be able to hold my head up if suddenly I didn't have to because my boyfriend, the mob kingpin, called so administrator and threatened to break their kneecaps.

Sonny: Okay, first of all, I don't break kneecaps -- that's a stereotype.

Kate: Sorry.

Sonny: Second of all, when did you start thinking of me as your boyfriend?

Kate: Is that a problem for you?

Sonny: It's not a problem for me. I was just -- you know, does that mean, like, I get to call you my girlfriend?

Kate: Actually, you could do one better.

Sonny: Yeah?

Kate: You could escort me to what appears to be the highlight of the Port Charles social calendar.

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: What's a -- what's a black-and-white ball?

Kate: It's ultraformal, ultrachic. Truman capote threw one in the 1960s, and it is widely considered the party of the century.

Sonny: Okay.

Kate: Women wear black ball gowns or white ball gowns or some combination of the two, and men wear white ties and tails.

Sonny: Like the waiters at Luigi's?

Kate: Oh, don't –

[Sonny laughs]

Kate: You know, I would bet money -- in fact, a lot of it --

Sonny: Right?

Kate: That not only would you look stunning in tails, but, in fact, you would look as if you were born to it.

Sonny: You really want me to go to this thing, don't you?

Kate: I really do.

Sonny: Okay, I'll tell you what. I'm not going to -- I'm not going to wear some rented piece of garbage, so how long does my tailor have to make a penguin suit?

Kate: The party is October 31.

Sonny: When?

Kate: October 31.

Sonny: Oh, that's not good. I'm -- I have a meeting in Puerto Rico. I can't make it. I'm leaving tonight.

Trevor: So, listen to me. I just called in a couple of favors from the syndicate that partner with Sonny Corinthos in his three Puerto Rican casinos. He's going to fly down there and meet them tonight.

Man: We have everything in place.

Trevor: You just make sure that nothing goes wrong. Sonny Corinthos is not to leave that island alive.

Johnny: Does this look like the kind of house where friends come and hang out?

Lulu: What are you protecting me from?

Johnny: We had fun. It doesn't seem fair to repay you by getting you killed.

Lulu: Okay, obviously you're trying very hard to get rid of me, so, fine, I'll go. I just thought you might want this. It belonged to your mother, didn't it?

Johnny: So what?

Lulu: So why did you give it to me?

Carly: Oh.

[Phone chirps]

Carly: "See you at the ball."

Sam: Ahem. Look, I -- I just -- I wanted to explain what you walked in on at the hospital.

Nikolas: It's not really necessary, Sam.

Sam: Yeah, I -- I understand that, but I do know that you're angry, and I have a right to how I feel.

Nikolas: I -- I don't wish to discuss this right now.

Sam: You and Emily and Lucky and Elizabeth all have been friends for a really long time and I get that, I understand that, but --

Nikolas: Shut up! Lucky threw away his entire family because of you!

Sam: Are you kidding me? That's not how it was, and --

Nikolas: That's exactly how it happened! You do not care about him --

Sam: Nikolas -- Nikolas!

Nikolas: And I'd be doing him a favor if I get rid of you! What do you think about that?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Robin: It's ridiculous to think of you fathering my child.

Jason: Not really.

Trevor: Are the arrangements in place?

Sonny: I'll be back in time to take you to that ball.

Sam: No! Nikolas!
