Carly: You're lying. Jax isn't dead.
Jerry: Carly -- donít.
Irina: You seem to be missing the fact that I have a gun.
Carly: I don't care! Where's my husband?
Jerry: Control yourself, or you're the one who's going to end up dead.
Carly: I'm not afraid of her.
Jerry: You should be. Irina's ruthless. I've always admired that about you.
Kate: I have a confession to make. I overheard you talking to Diane.
Sonny: Isn't it bad manners to eavesdrop?
Kate: Well, it was my life that you were discussing. Apparently, six months in jail for denting that police car?
Sonny: Not if you do what I tell you.
Man: You were pretty convincing yourself, you know, almost too convincing.
Lucky: What is this? Are these the guys who threatened Elizabeth today?
Jason: I'm going to find the men who came after you in the park.
Elizabeth: The police are already looking.
Jason: No, I'm going to find them. But I'm going to send guards to watch you. Okay, that means you and the boys will be protected. But it also shows that you're important to me, and that's the most dangerous thing of all.
Jerry: It's good to see you, Irina. It was a brilliant performance, faking your own death. I'm a difficult man to fool, but I was utterly convinced.
Irina: Did you grieve for me, Jerry?
Jerry: I was inconsolable.
Irina: But not guilty. You don't do guilt.
Jerry: But for you, I did. But it was a waste, I mean, since you were alive keeping track of me, as you were watching Carly agonize over Jax's supposed death when he's alive and well.
Irina: You are welcome to cling to that hope.
Jerry: Oh, come on, you've been waiting for years for this, Irina. Why would you want to kill my brother without letting me have the chance to witness it?
Irina: I hate to disappoint you, Jerry, but Jax has genuinely departed this world.
Jerry: I know you're angry, and you have a good reason to be. But I also have issues that need to be resolved. But I prefer to do it in private.
Irina: Fine. I'll kill her so we can be alone.
Kate: It is your fault that I sideswiped that police car. I was -- I was distracted because you kissed me.
Sonny: That's your defense?
Kate: Well, I shouldn't need a defense. I'm willing to pay whatever fine it is, no matter how outrageous. Why -- oh, why can't that just be enough?
Sonny: See, this is how you get yourself in trouble, because you -- you -- look, you want to get out of this mess, right? Well, you got to start acting like a regular person.
Kate: I think that you underestimate my circle of influence.
Sonny: Your snobby friends ain't going to get you out of jail. The judge is going to take one look at you and see a wealthy, privileged woman, he's going to want to take you down a notch, and if you think you're too important to prosecute, he's -- he's not going to hesitate to put you in one of those bright orange suits. So it would be nice for you to work up a little humility, show a little remorse for what you did.
Kate: Sonny, was it really such a big deal?
Sonny: You just hit a police car. What's next? An elderly person? A little boy?
Kate: No. No! I wouldn't hit a person.
Sonny: I'm just saying what the D.A.'s going to say. That's all I'm telling you.
Sonny: So you got to do what's right.
Kate: Yeah. Okay. Could you do this? I mean, could you act remorseful and apologetic?
Sonny: I don't know.
Kate: Oh, right. Because to stay on top, you can't go around admitting that you're wrong. You' got to act strong and confident, whether or not that's how you actually feel.
Sonny: Well, you also need to be realistic and know when to face reality.
Diane: I can make your legal difficulties go away, but it's going to require a small compromise.
Sonny: Are you listening, Kate?
Kate: What do I have to do?
Sam: These are not the men who attacked Elizabeth. These are actually workers from "Everyday Heroes." Jimmy, Arnie, say hello to Detective Lucky Spencer.
Lucky: Hey, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. My wife, she was kind of accosted here in the park earlier today by two men, and Sam, she showed up and then chased them off.
Arnie: Yeah, that's our little everyday hero.
Sam: Yes, it is. Well, it was good seeing you guys. I guess I'll just see you at work. Okay? Bye. Ahem.
Lucky: Hey, you know what? I'm glad I ran into you. I just want to thank you for saving Elizabeth and the boys earlier.
Sam: No, please, I'm just glad I happened to be walking by.
Lucky: You saw that my family was in trouble and you acted on instinct, despite how you feel about Jason and Elizabeth.
Sam: Sure, of course. I didn't want anyone to get hurt.
Lucky: Thanks to you, they werenít.
Sam: Do you have any leads?
Lucky: No, not yet.
Sam: Oh, that's weird. It's just that I -- I thought I heard them say something. You know, it -- I -- I must be wrong, I don't know.
Lucky: What? What?
Sam: I thought I heard them mention something about Jason.
Lucky: Jason? What about Jason?
Sam: You know what, Lucky? I don't know, I don't know. It all happened so fast, I must have totally misunderstood. Elizabeth said that she didn't hear anything, so I --
Lucky: Come on, you and I both know that Elizabeth lies to protect Jason.
Jason: I was a fool to think this would work. Safest thing for you and your sons is to be out of my life. I mean, I -- look, I'd rather have you with me, okay? I'd rather try, I'd rather have the security guards and the cameras, but you can come to me and tell me that Jake could be kidnapped for a second time, and it was because of me. And I can't -- I can't take that risk. So the best way for me to love my son is to let him go, and that means letting you go.
Logan: Hey. You okay?
Logan: Wait a minute. I'm sorry. You're scared. It's -- it's too soon.
Logan: No, it's okay. You don't trust me. I'm acting like a real jerk.
Lulu: No, I -- I do trust you, Logan. I'm just wondering if you have protection.
Logan: Oh. Of course. Are you kidding me? I wouldn't take any chances after what you've been through.
Singer: I'm drawn to you the world's spinning how could I ever begin to be with you? But there's something about you now I don't think I'll ever figure it out but I'm drawn and there's something about you now that makes everything beautiful if I only believe something is happening
Singer: It's cold on the street the lamplight upon me I spent the night wondering I don't know why a feeling I can't take inside
Jason: Sorry, I should be better at this.
Elizabeth: Saying goodbye?
Jason: Every time I've had to leave someone I love I would tell myself it's best for them and I could do it. It's just different with Jake. You know, from the day you told me he was mine, I couldn't stay away, no matter how many times I told myself it's what you wanted that --
Elizabeth: It was never what I wanted. It was always out of fear of all the bad things that could happen.
Jason: And they did happen. And now they're going to stop. But you have to promise me that if you ever think that Jake needs me for anything, will you call me?
Elizabeth: Yeah, I promise.
Jason: I'm sorry this took so long to figure out.
Elizabeth: I'm really sorry I hurt you.
Jason: I love you.
Jason: I should've told you before.
Elizabeth: Well, now is when it matters. I love you, and I always will.
Jason: You need to leave.
Logan: You okay? You're so quiet.
Logan: You're not regretting this, are you?
Lulu: No, not at all. I'm feeling glad, relieved.
Logan: Relieved? Were you that worried?
Lulu: Well, I -- you know, I -- I didn't know if we'd feel awkward with each other afterwards, like we crossed a line we shouldn't have. I'm not saying that right.
Logan: So, you feel --
Lulu: Like we're closer now. I think we know each other better. We've learned new things.
Logan: Oh. Okay.
Logan: Such as?
Lulu: Your hair -- when it looks tousled like this, you look like a puppy dog.
Logan: A puppy dog.
Logan: Oh, my goodness glory. You sure you don't mean like maybe a tiger or a stallion or something like that?
Lulu: You've been with, um, a lot of women, haven't you?
Logan: Lulu, my past is the last thing I want to think about right now.
Lulu: I've only been with one other guy, so I hope you weren't disappointed or some--
Logan: Oh, my -- stop, stop, stop. You were perfect. Beautiful and warm, passionate. I'm so lucky to be with you.
Jerry: You don't want to shoot Carly. You don't want to create an international incident. I mean, besides, the body would be a bloody mess. You'd have to dispose of her, cover your tracks -- messy.
Irina: You're certainly eager for her to stay alive.
[Irina cocks gun]
Carly: You're bluffing.
Irina: Not really.
Jerry: Go ahead, then. Pull the trigger.
Carly: Could you not play chicken with my life, please?
Jerry: It would be a useless and random act of violence. What could you possibly accomplish by it?
Irina: Random acts of violence are rewarding in themselves, don't you think, Jerry?
Jerry: What you really want is to tell me how much you hate me. You want your own brand of closure, and I want the same for you, so why don't you tell Carly to take a walk so we can be alone?
Irina: Bang! Get out.
Jerry: That wasn't very nice.
Irina: I've waited a long time for this, and I'm going to enjoy every moment.
Lulu: Well, you have my number. Call me if you want.
Logan: "If I want"?
Lulu: I'll see you around.
Logan: You have your way with me and this is all I get? I feel, well, a little used.
Lulu: I'm new at this. I just -- I don't know how to act.
Logan: Well -- how about you start by being honest? You said you felt close to me. I feel the same way. That's a pretty good start, don't you think?
Lulu: Start of what? Never mind. I need to go.
Logan: No, Lulu, sweet -- don't -- don't leave, all right? And it's not an easy thing for me to say when you're running out of here so fast.
Lulu: I just -- I don't want you to feel pressured.
Logan: Okay, well, one thing's clear. We're both rotten at reading each other's minds, all right, because I don't feel pressured. I mean, I'm the one who's been pushing this, you know, whole thing on you.
Lulu: No, no, you haven't been pushing it I wanted it, too.
Logan: Good. Because when I'm with you I feel like it's one of the only chances I have to do something good with my life.
Sam: You look upset. Did something else happen?
Elizabeth: No. I'm just a little unnerved over the whole, um, situation, but I'm sure it was a random thing. It'll never happen again.
Sam: Yeah, I hope the cops find those guys.
Elizabeth: Yeah, me, too.
Sam: I was trying to think of more details to tell the cops, but I couldn't come up with anything. How about you?
Elizabeth: No, uh-uh, nothing. I told them everything I know. Sam, thank you again for helping me. I know it was because of the boys and it had nothing to do with me, but I --
Sam: No, it had nothing to do with you. I don't like you, but I'm certainly not going to stand by and watch while someone's being attacked.
Ric: Well, it's the last thing I expected to see. The two of you look almost amicable.
Sam: Well, you should go through your police reports because Elizabeth and her kids were threatened in the park today.
Ric: You all right?
Elizabeth: We're fine.
Sam: Don't act like you care. It's your fault this happened in the first place.
Jason: Hey. Have we -- have we had any business problems while I was locked up?
Sonny: Nothing unusual. Why?
Jason: Because somebody sent a message.
Sonny: What do you mean?
Jason: Elizabeth was in the park with Cameron and Jake. Two guys tried to grab them, looking for leverage against me.
Sonny: Did Elizabeth and the kids get hurt?
Jason: No, Sam showed up and ran them off.
Sonny: Well, it couldn't have been that serious if Sam could run these guys off.
Jason: Right, but I can't take the risk of it happening again.
Sonny: Did Elizabeth report it to the cops?
Jason: Yes, she did.
Sonny: Okay, what you need to do is wait a few days before you go after these guys. Let the cops get a crack at them first. You need to put Elizabeth and the kids --
Jason: I'm not going to be seeing Elizabeth or Jake again.
Man: Enough is enough. The sooner it's over, the better.
Carly: Oh, Jax.
Carly: Oh. Come on, come out here.
Jax: Well, I --
Carly: Oh. Oh. Oh, what did they do to you?
Carly: Let me see, let me see. Come on, come here. Hi. I'm going to get you out of here. Okay.
Logan: Hey, hey. You hungry?
Logan: Food. You want to maybe, I don't know, go get something to eat, maybe go see a movie or something?
Lulu: Are you serious?
Logan: Yeah, you know, huh -- Lulu, I -- I don't want you to think that this is just all about sex, because it's not. No, no, listen, I -- I really enjoy your company, and I --
Lulu: I do, too. That's why I'm not hungry and there's no way I could concentrate on a movie, unless you -- that's what you would rather do?
Logan: No, no. Do -- do I look like I want to go see -- do I look like I want to go see a movie?
Logan: What do you want?
Maxie: Trying to get me to leave already? Actually, I came to tell Lulu that she's breaking Spinelli's heart. Poor guy actually created a video game in your honor -- Lulu lost in the underwurld. He's the hero, of course, trying to save you from the evil Logus the underwurm and preserve your purity. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.
Lulu: Oh. I need to talk with Spinelli.
Maxie: Hmm, so, uh, you obviously did the deed.
Ric: How am I to blame for Elizabeth and her children being threatened?
Sam: Well, you forced Elizabeth to testify that she slept with Jason.
Ric: Mm-hmm, and?
Sam: And those men wanted leverage, and her and her kids are an obvious way to get it, not that you give a damn.
Ric: Well, if you were so upset about it, then maybe you should've cooperated with me during Jason's trial and helped me get a conviction.
Elizabeth: You mean, lied under oath to help you get revenge.
Ric: Jason committed murder, Elizabeth. Lorenzo Alcazar is dead because Jason shot him.
Elizabeth: The jury disagreed.
Ric: All right, you claim to care about children so much. What about Lila Rae? She's just a little older than Jake and she's growing up without a father because Jason killed him.
Elizabeth: Stop saying that. The trial is over.
Ric: You know in your heart that Jason is guilty, Elizabeth, but you're going to look the other way so that Jason can continue his business with Sonny, killing people without a shred of conscience to slow him down -- because you're so enamored with Jason you don't even care?
Elizabeth: You're in no position to judge with all the hurt that you've caused.
Ric: You know what? That's fine. Fine. Thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes, Elizabeth. I realize now that you're not the angel that I thought you were. As a matter of fact, you are astonishingly like Carly. You're willing to lie, you're willing to rationalize any crime, including murder, if it benefits your precious Jason! It's sad. And it's even pathetic on your part, but it does work to my advantage, because it eliminates all illusions that I've had about you. Makes it a lot easier to walk away.
Jason: This wasn't random. Those men went after Elizabeth because of her connection to me.
Sonny: It came out in court that you slept with Elizabeth. It's public knowledge. I mean, she needs to be with you so you can protect her. You understand?
Jason: Look, I know you protect your kids, okay, and you try your hardest, but they're still a target.
Sonny: You're not telling me you think your son is better off with Lucky?
Jason: That's not the point, Sonny.
Sonny: Yes, it is the point, because, yeah, I know I've said this a lot to you, but look -- he's your son. You have to raise --
Jason: Look, I'm walking away from my son because I love him. And this is the hardest thing I've ever done, so I'm asking you to accept my decision and never bring it up again.
Jax: How'd you find me?
Carly: Irina called and let me know that she slept with you. Jerry's with her now.
Jax: I can explain all that. We just need to get out of here first.
Carly: Come on.
Jax: Quick, hide.
Man: Ah. Bad news, my friend.
Jax: Ah! Man: Irina's on her way back here with your brother, Jerry, and when she gets here, she's going to kill you while he watches.
Irina: Shooting you would be too quick. I want you to suffer.
Jerry: Irina, haven't we caused each other enough suffering?
Irina: Not even close. You made me believe I was precious to you. But now I have your brother, and I will cause him all sorts of pain, which you will witness, and feel it in your bones and your heart and your mind. The agony will continue until you feel nothing, the way I went numb after your betrayal.
Jerry: They tortured me, as well, Irina, in that prison.
Irina: And you couldn't take it. You gave in.
Jerry: No, I held in as long as I could to give you time to get away. Why didn't you try to run?
Irina: I couldn't bear to betray you.
Jerry: But you did -- when you faked your own death.
Irina: You didn't give a damn that I was supposedly dead.
Jerry: Yes, I did, I did care. You have no idea. You have no idea how happy I was when I found out you were alive, my love.
[Jerry speaks Russian]
Jerry: Oh! Ė
[Knock on door]
Lulu: Spinelli, it's me.
Spinelli: Fair Lulu. I -- oh -- it -- it worked.
Lulu: What did?
Spinelli: Oh. I focused my powers -- all my powers on rescuing you. Well, I mean, the, um -- Lulu, the cyber character from the insidious clutches of the evil wurm, and here you are.
Lulu: Logan is not evil.
Spinelli: No, I -- I was -- I was referencing the game.
Lulu: I was just at Loganís apartment, and I think that you know that --
Spinelli: Okay, look, Stone Cold taught me that people get to make their own choices, and so the Blond One can do whatever she wants.
Lulu: Look, I know that you don't like Logan, but it's --
Spinelli: You know, there was a time when the Blond One concurred, you know, that lamentable day when the simian one beat up the Jackal and put an unwanted kiss on the Blond One's lips.
Lulu: Logan apologized.
Spinelli: Well, the Blond One is way too forgiving.
Lulu: Spinelli, I've gotten to know Logan, the real Logan, not the front that he puts --
Spinelli: Well, no offense, but the Jackal doesn't need to be apprised of the details.
Lulu: I'm sorry. I know that you are trying to protect me, and that's really sweet, but I'm okay.
Spinelli: Well, if the Blond One believes that, far be it for me to argue.
Lulu: Spinelli, you're a wonderful friend. I care about you, and I always will. But as much as I like Logan, I hope that our friendship can last forever.
Maxie: Where is it?
Maxie: The hidden camera. You nailed the witch. I assume there's proof.
Logan: I don't have any proof, because Lulu couldn't go through with it. She couldn't do it.
Maxie: You think I didn't notice her glowing cheeks and rumpled clothes?
Logan: You -- we were just kissing on the couch. You know, it didn't -- didn't really go any further.
Maxie: Why not? She's obviously hot for you.
Logan: Hmm -- Lulu started talking about, you know, the stuff that happened with her and Dillon last summer. The girl's still really messed up about it, so --
Maxie: Okay, well, you're just going to have to dial it up a notch.
Logan: I -- I already have, all right? She's not going to buy it.
Maxie: So, what, you're just giving up now?
Logan: I don't think Lulu's going to be jumping in the sack with me anytime soon, okay?
Maxie: Well, where does that leave us?
Logan: I guess the deal's off.
Maxie: You're kidding, right?
Logan: I wish I were.
Sam: I suppose you are looking for the guys that went after Elizabeth and the kids.
Jason: Yeah, I am.
Sam: Well, the police have been over pretty much every inch of this place and they didn't find a thing, so --
Jason: Thank you for helping Elizabeth.
Sam: Jason, it doesn't make up for the fact that I stood by while Jake was being kidnapped.
Jason: I'm -- I'm sorry it didn't work out between us, Sam. But you did a good thing.
Sam: I'll give myself a gold star, then. Hey. Is something wrong? You know, I'd -- I'd, um -- I'd ask what, but I really don't care, so Ė
Diane: I cut a deal for Ms. Howard.
Kate: "Kate," Diane. Please call me Kate.
Diane: It's being taken to the judge as we speak.
Sonny: Oh, so you took my advice?
Kate: Well, the assistant D.A. was a very reasonable woman.
Diane: And a huge fan of "Couture." She practically apologized to Ms. Howard --
Diane: Kate -- Kate -- for having to give her minimal community service.
Sonny: That was easy.
Kate: Well, Diane was brilliant. I thought that I was good at talking on my feet, but I do not hold a candle to this highly accomplished attorney of yours.
Diane: Oh -- oh, "please." Kate, I've seen you on television running circles around reporters.
Kate: Oh, Diane, those are tricks of the trade. Meanwhile, you are saving people from the unbridled hell of prison.
Diane: Well, it was the least I could do, Kate.
Kate: You know what? I am eternally grateful and to show my gratitude, I'm going to set up a fitting for you, personally, with -- Karl.
Diane: Karl? You know, I have worked as a legal aide, public defender, clerked for a moron, slaved until 3:00 in the morning at one of those huge corporate law firms. Every once in a while I've asked myself, "is it worth it?" And at this moment, I can honestly say -- it is.
Sonny: Have you talked about a fee?
Diane: A fee? A fee. Oh. Oh, my --
Kate: I think she's happy with her fee.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. You know, she's as tough as nails as a lawyer, top of her game. It's "amazing" the effect that you have on her.
Kate: Well, she has a healthy respect for the arbiters of style.
Sonny: Yeah, I got a healthy respect for one of them myself.
Kate: Are you trying to take advantage of my good mood?
Sonny: Um, is it working?
Kate: I don't know, you're too far away.
Sonny: Really? How's that?
Kate: It's better.
Sonny: You know, you're going to be doing community service, which means you're going to spend a lot of time in Port Charles, so that means that, you know, you got to figure out things to do so you don't get bored.
Kate: Hmm. I'm not worried.
Sonny: Well, neither am I.
[Knock on door]
Ric: Oh, oh, oh. Excuse me. Celebrating the cakewalk plea bargain that Ms. Howard thinks she got away with, huh? I'd hold off on that if I were you.
Elizabeth: Hey. You wanted to see me?
Lucky: Yeah. Did the men who threatened you and the kids today, did they say anything about Jason?
Lucky: You covered up for him.
Elizabeth: I just want this whole thing to be over with. Jason has just been acquitted. I wanted him to go back to his life.
Lucky: What, you want to be with him?
Elizabeth: I will never be with Jason. As for us, it's up to you.
Lucky: Yeah. So much has gone wrong.
Elizabeth: Yeah, well, you've lost your trust in me. I do know how that feels. And I know that you are angry and upset, and you do have every right to be.
Lucky: Then just -- then tell me -- what do we have worth fighting for?
Elizabeth: We're married. We have two kids. We should try to make this work.
Lucky: You know, you're right, I am angry. And that's not a good situation for any of us.
Elizabeth: Especially the kids. So I -- I will respect and understand whatever decision you make. Just know that it takes time to get past things like this and to regain trust. It can happen. But there are limits to what a person can handle. You just have to know whether you've reached your limit.
Lucky: I don't want to give up on us, Elizabeth. Not yet.
Ric: My inexperienced D.A. signed off on Ms. Howard's plea bargain and I didn't agree to it
Sonny: Just let it go, Ric.
Ric: No, no, this is a little thing called the law, Sonny. See, Ms. Howard committed a crime, and she needs to pay for it. I'm going for the maximum sentence.
Kate: But I barely scraped that police cruiser. No one was hurt.
Ric: This is your second hit-and-run, Ms. Howard. You're not getting off with a slap on the wrist. I know you're used to that, but you have to be taught a lesson.
Sonny: So you hurt her to get to me? Is that what you're doing?
Ric: Whatever do you mean, Sonny?
Sonny: Well, you wouldn't show up here if it was just a fender-bender.
Ric: Well, look, I -- look, I understand that you have police officers in your back pocket. I mean, you get away with whatever you want, right? You're untouchable. But that doesn't go for the people who are naive enough to associate with you. And if they don't know any better, then they're going to be the ones to suffer, starting with your friend Kate.
Sonny: It's not going to happen, Ric.
Ric: Oh, really? What are you going to do to stop me?
Kate: Just, please, Ric, be reasonable.
Ric: I am being reasonable, Ms. Howard, believe me. And when you're sitting in jail and your reputation as well as your career is disintegrating and the media feeding frenzy is turning you into a national joke, you just remember you can thank him for it.
[Door opens and closes]
Jerry: Oh. Carly? Hmm.
Carly: So Irina really plans on killing you. That cold-blooded bitch is even more dangerous than your brother.
Jax: Forget the cuffs, okay? We have to get out of here. Come on.
Carly: I almost got it. Wait.
Irina: So impulsive, and yet so predictable.
Jax: My wife has nothing to do with this. Let her go.
Irina: Oh, don't be ridiculous. Now instead of one hostage to torture Jerry with, I have two. And since he's clearly fond of Carly, it will be twice as entertaining when he watches you die together.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Patrick: Are you ready for your big debut?
Noah: Actually, um, change of plans.
Kate: I do believe that I can give you what you want. I can't know you anymore.
Jason: Elizabeth and her children were threatened again. Find out who's responsible.
Sam: Get out of town, stay out.
