Sam: Hello?

Ric: Sam, it's Ric -- don't hang up. I have a proposition for you. I promise, I'll make it worth your while.

Spinelli: Damian Spinelli. I'm paralegal for the defense; I have a most urgent matter to discuss with my client. Thank you.

Jason: What -- what are you doing here?

Spinelli: I -- I come bearing news of the darkest nature.

Jason: Oh, don't tell me Carly came up with another plan?

Spinelli: Okay, with all due respect, Stone Cold, this visit is about me, not the Valkyrie. The Jackal is in need of guidance and wisdom. The Blond One has taken [don’t know] to my chief article of affection.

Jason: What the hell does that mean?

Spinelli: Lulu broke my heart.

Jerry: Hello, darling.

Carly: Hello.

Jerry: Oh, how wonderful -- I don't see the usual glare of hatred in your eyes this morning.

Carly: Now the judge has allowed the surveillance photos into evidence, Jason may be acquitted, thanks to you.

Jerry: Are you truly grateful, or is this just an act to get me to get Jax back home?

Carly: Both.

[Jax coughs]

Irina: See what happens when you try to run? The guards are forced to drag you back and ruin your new clothes in the process.

Jax: Yeah, well, I don't think your goons enjoy seeing me better dressed than they are. Aah!

Man: Ugh!

Irina: That kind of behavior isn't going to get you anywhere.

Jax: Yeah, but it's still really fun for me, though.

Irina: You're a lot like your brother. Jerry enjoyed treating everything as if it were a game.

Jax: Yeah?

Irina: Don't make the same mistake. You are only here for one reason, and that's to [missing].

Kate: When you have something that might actually work for the cover, just call me. Is there a problem?

Sonny: A judge might think so.

Kate: Just because I've been incarcerated on ridiculous charges doesn't mean the magazine should have to suffer.

Sonny: So you bribe a cop to get you a cell phone and a few lattes?

Kate: A civilized exchange of favors.

Sonny: Oh.

Kate: The designer's going to kill me when he finds out that his signature cocktail gown is going to a housewife upstate.

Sonny: So you think this is a joke now?

Kate: Sonny, the arrest is a joke. I'm in lockup for a traffic violation.

Sonny: You were arrested for a hit-and-run, your second offense.

Kate: Don't make it sound like I mowed down a small child and kept driving. Look, I nicked some paint off a late-model American something or -- it shouldn't have been in the neighborhood to begin with.

Sonny: This coming from the girl who came to her junior prom in her uncle's tricked-out taxicab.

Kate: I told you I'm not that girl anymore.

Sonny: Well, you might be better off, because if you keep up this holier-than-thou attitude, thinking that, you know, people owe you special treatment because you're so much better than them, it's going to come back and bite you.

Kate: Okay, so what should I do? Should I -- should I weep at the judge's feet and grovel for community service?

Sonny: It wouldn't hurt.

Kate: You don't get anywhere in this life if you're not willing to stand up for yourself. Kate Howard does not grovel.

Sonny: Well, Kate Howard better brace herself for the people who cannot wait to knock her down.

Patrick: Good morning.

Robin: Morning.

Patrick: I was thinking we don't have to be at the hospital for another hour.

Robin: Well, I have some labs to go over before my consult for the Miesner case.

Patrick: Okay. Why don't you go start getting ready and I'll meet you in the shower.

Robin: You know -- maybe tonight.

Patrick: That's what you said when we woke up yesterday. And then when I got home from work, you were already in bed. Robin, I thought we were getting over this dry spell thing now that our parents aren't sleeping together.

Robin: We are.

Patrick: Okay, then what's going on?

Robin: I don't know. Maybe I'm just not in the mood. Excuse me.

Patrick: Wow. "Not in the mood"?

[Robin sighs]

Jason: Okay, just tell me what happened.

Spinelli: I -- I tried to love Lulu from afar, you know, biting my tongue every time a declaration of beauty came across my lips. Instead, I wrote them down, I -- all here in these cyber-sanct walls. And I kept hoping against hope that one day she would just -- she would -- you know, she would just change her mind, you know, and just venture into the uncharted waters of romance. And as if by a miracle, she has, just not with me. The chosen one is Mr. Corinthos, Sir's newest protector of the night.

Jason: Logan?

Spinelli: She's drawn to the simian one like a moth to a blowtorch. And I know -- I know that if -- if he gets the chance, he'll reduce her to ashes, and I can't let that happen. So, please -- look, Stone Cold, I know this is a most tenuous time for you, but, please, please, please, just impart a little bit of wisdom, okay? Tell me how I can save fair Lulu.

Carly: Jason would never admit this, but the photos you doctored helped his case. At the very least, it put doubt in the jury's mind, and it could set him free, so I wanted to say thank you -- from both of us.

Jerry: Well, that's so sweet - and I couldn't have pulled it off without you.

Lulu: Um, I really need to talk to you -- alone.

Carly: Okay. Can you give us a minute? But, please, don't go too far. We have some unfinished business to discuss.

Jerry: Oh, certainly, certainly. If you're looking for advice, you couldn't have come to a wiser person. My brother's wife understands people's faults and can look past them -- even mine.

Irina: I'm not paying you to lay there.

Man: Aah!

Jax: You ought to cut them some slack. They must be exhausted after beating the hell out of me.

Irina: You tried to escape.

Jax: Of course I did.

Irina: And here I thought you were starting to enjoy yourself.

Jax: Well, your obvious charm aside, I'd really like to get home to see my wife.

Irina: Really?

Jax: Yeah.

Irina: You didn't seem to be missing her all that much when you were lying in bed with me.

Jax: You threatened to kill Carly if I didn't sleep with you.

Irina: Tell me, do you think your lovely wife will appreciate the sacrifice?

Jax: No, she's going to be pretty mad at me. But she'll still be alive, and in the end, that's all that matters.

Irina: Actions have consequences. Since you were trying to ruin my plans by getting away you'll have to be punished.

Jax: I thought the beating was the punishment.

Irina: There are other options. So, in the interest of fair play -- and entertainment -- I'm going to give you a choice.

Patrick: Can I kiss you goodbye, or are you not in the mood for that, either?

Robin: Oh -- okay, this is how a relationship works. There will be times that I don't want to have sex, and there will be times that you don't, either.

Patrick: Robin, you have been on edge ever since your mom started paying attention to my dad.

Robin: That is not true, okay? I am totally over that. What my mom does with her life is her business.

Patrick: Okay, then something else is bothering you, because we've had this conversation four different ways already. So, what's going on?

Robin: I'm just asking you to give me some space. Do you think you can manage that?

Lulu: Spinelli is my best friend, and I would never want to do anything to hurt him, but that's exactly what I would be doing if I decide to date Logan.

Carly: Spinelli's going to be hurt no matter who you date. He wants to be me than just friends with you.

Lulu: He -- yeah, he's kind, he's nice, and he would lay down in front of a bus for me.

Carly: No chemistry?

Lulu: None at all.

Carly: Well, you kind of have to be attracted to the guy you're dating.

Lulu: And I am attracted to Logan, even though everyone is telling me to stay away from him.

Carly: And that's part of the appeal.

Lulu: No, no, no, no, it's more than that.

Carly: You told me he was a jerk.

Lulu: Yes, he can be -- at least, to most people. But Logan hasn't had the best life, for a lot of reasons, mainly because his dad bailed on him before he was born. So he has a serious problem trusting people, and he shuts himself off and builds up these walls to protect himself from getting hurt again. And -- I don't know -- every now and then, I get a glimpse of who Logan really is, and there is something about that person that I just can't seem to stay away from. And that's the problem, that Spinelli has not seen that side of Logan, so he thinks that I'm just going to get hurt.

Carly: Do you consider Spinelli a good judge of character?

Lulu: Well, he worships Jason. He pretty much thinks that Ric is corrupt scum. He has a lot of respect for Sonny -- even though he's scared to death of him -- and he worships you.

Carly: The kid's got great instincts.

Lulu: Hmm. Yeah.

Carly: It doesn't mean you have to follow them.

Lulu: So, what, you think that I should date Logan?

Carly: I think you should do whatever you want to do. But if you're wrong about Logan, I hope Spinelli will come through for you regardless. That's what a true friend does.

Jason: If you want to be Lulu's friend, you need to stick by her no matter what.

Spinelli: Right. She's -- she's making a massively huge mistake giving herself to the unworthy one.

Jason: Okay, how -- how do you know it's a mistake?

Spinelli: Because I have proof that Logan Hayes is the reigning king of scum. He was caught -- he was caught putting the moves on the bad blond one just moments after leaving the fair one's side.

Jason: This is what I'm talking about here, okay? Part of being a friend is knowing when to give advice and when just to let it go.

Spinelli: Oh --

Jason: Because there are people who you can tell over and over again and warn them, and they're not going to listen to you.

Spinelli: You're talking about the Valkyrie -- Carly?

Jason: I am -- yeah, Carly, for example, okay? She's done the craziest, most self-destructive things. I knew they were going to hurt her, but Carly is the type of person who needs to figure it out for herself. And now -- you know, maybe Lulu is the same way. All you can do is just be there to pick her up when she falls.

Spinelli: You know, I just wish there was a way that I could -- that I could spare her the inevitable pain of this negative situation. You know, some way that I could -- that I could show her that she deserves someone so much better than the simian one, you know, someone that'll worship the ground that she walks on, you know, and hold her in the highest regard.

Jason: Look, no matter what happens, Lulu knows that she can trust you.

Spinelli: "Trust." Great. That doesn't make a heart beat faster, okay? Have you ever heard of a -- of a poet or a rock star writing an aria about trust? I mean, come on, trust is the -- is the also-ran of interpersonal bond.

Jason: Trust is essential. There's no relationship that can survive without it.

Sam: All right, I'm here, Ric. You better make it worth my while.

Ric: I'm going to recall you to the stand. A lot has come out about your relationship with Jason since the last time you were up there.

Sam: I'm sure you're talking about Elizabeth admitting that she committed adultery.

Ric: As I said, a lot has been made public recently, and I thought that maybe there was, well, something you'd like to add to your previous testimony.

Sam: Get to the point, Ric. What do you want me to say?

Ric: All you have to do is get up there and remember hearing Jason admit to killing Alcazar -- or anybody else, for that matter. Come on, Sam, you spent a lot of years with Jason. I'm certain there was a couple of times that you overheard him talking about his business.

Sam: And if I didn't, what, am I just supposed to lie?

Ric: This is payback, Sam. Isn't that what you want?

Epiphany: I think you should go and lay down, and wait for Patrick to examine you.

Noah: See? I think I'm getting good at this -- that even people who know that I'm impersonating Eli Love still can't tell the difference. You thought I was him, right?

Epiphany: No. Uh-uh. I think that you need to get your head examined before you actually start to believe that you are a rock star.

Noah: I'm thinking of calling myself "Dr. Love." What do you think?

Epiphany: You know what I think? I think that you need to be able to do more than talk when you get up on that stage. I think that you should be able to perform.

Noah: What, did you get up on the wrong side of the bed?

Patrick: You have no idea.

Robin: The labs are back on Eli.

Noah: I didn't order any labs, honey.

Patrick: I did.

Robin: Okay, well, maybe if you would put "Junior" after "Drake," the staff would know who to deliver them to.

Patrick: There's only two Drakes in the hospital. If it's not my father, it's me. It's really not that hard to figure out.

Robin: Well, why should I have to waste my time trying to figure it out? It would just take you five seconds to put "Junior" on there, and then there wouldn't be any confusion at all.

Noah: Come on, this is so petty, even for you guys. What's going on?

Patrick: Yeah, ask her -- she's the one picking fights for no reason.

Robin: Oh. You're a jerk. Is that a good enough reason?

Kate: Call Annie and tell her the cover reshoot is on for Thursday. Yes, Clarice, as in two days from now. And then call Jacques and tell him he'll have his revised mockups -- as soon as the local constable realizes I'm no longer a menace to society.

Mac: I'm impressed. I never thought you'd make it through the night in lockup.

Kate: Well, it's not the five-star accommodations I'm used to, but I found ways to make do.

Mac: So I see.

Kate: So, since you brought me out from that dreadful cell, may I assume that my attorney managed to straighten this whole mess out?

Sonny: Your lawyer couldn't get anything done, so I had Diane handle it, and she's going to get you released --

Kate: Thank God.

Sonny: Into my custody.

Mac: You're free to go.

Kate: Oh, under no circumstances am I going anywhere with that man.

Lulu: How do you know if someone is right for you?

Carly: A whole lot of trial and error. I'm serious.

[Lulu sighs]

Carly: What you think you may want is the exact opposite of what you need, and you're never going to know until you put yourself out there.

Lulu: Even if it hurts the person that you care about the most?

Carly: You can't help who you're attracted to. Okay, sometimes -- sometimes you want to be with the guy that drives you crazy. The guy who makes you blush without even trying. The man who is impossible to get close to, but when you do, it's one of the best feelings in the whole world. And then there's that time that you just want to be with the guy who is there for you no matter what. You call him at 3:00 A.M., He's there at 3:05. And he's not asking you what you did wrong, he just wants to make sure you're okay. I don't know which guy that you need to be with. But what I do know is you need both of them in your life.

Lulu: You just described Sonny and Jason, didn't you?

Carly: Yeah, I did.

Lulu: So where does that leave Jax?

Diane: Ric is recalling Sam to the stand. Now, I'm going to assume that her anger is even intensified because it has become public knowledge that you slept with Elizabeth Spencer, so my advice is to prepare yourself. Sam could do some real damage today.

Spinelli: Uh, fair Samantha? Um, we're too late.

Sam: For what?

Spinelli: To offer Stone Cold some words of encouragement before the proceedings begin. See, the law-abiding ones have already closed the door --

Sam: Yeah, I'm -- I'm not here to give Jason any words of encouragement -- Ric has actually called me back to the stand.

Spinelli: Look, I -- I know you're still angry at Stone Cold for keeping baby Jake’s true parentage a secret, but, honestly, he -- he never meant to hurt you.

Sam: Yeah, well, I really don't care what he meant to do.

Spinelli: Look, he -- and he only went along with the lie to spare you further pain. Look, I -- deep down, I know you understand that -- just like I know you would never take an opportunity like this to purposely hurt Jason.

Sam: Don't be so sure.

Jax: No need to take this personally.

Irina: I will have you as many times as I want until your brother arrives.

Jax: What happened to fair play? I thought I get to choose my punishment.

Irina: You thought wrong.

Jax: Oh!

Irina: I make the rules. Wait outside. If Mr. Jacks tries to leave, see to it that he never walks again.

Jax: You're not afraid to be left alone with me?

Irina: If anyone should be afraid, it's you. I don't think you understand your position -- or Carly’s. What do you suppose is worse -- two motherless children, or a childless mother? Morgan and Michael -- what a pity it would be if one or both should meet with a terrible accident while crossing the street.

Jax: You would actually kill innocent children?

Irina: I'd do anything to get back at someone I hate. The question is, what will you do to save someone you love?

Carly: Jax is the kind of man every woman dreams of finding. He's gorgeous, he's rich, he's confident, he's independent, and he loves me for me, no matter how self-destructive I get -- which can be pretty bad. And to top it all off, he loves my kids, he adores my kids. I couldn't ask for anything more -- except for him to be here right now. That would be great.

Lulu: Oh, you haven't heard from Jax?

Carly: No, thanks to Jerry. But I'm not going to get angry, because that would be counterproductive. I'm going to sit here and I'm going to remind myself of how much I love him. You know how hard it is to find a man like Jax? Women wait forever for a Jax to come along.

Lulu: Right, right. Well, no, I -- I get why you love him now, but, you know, how was it in the beginning? How did you know that he was the one?

Carly: Well, I think it took a while for me to figure that out. But what made the difference was the way Jax looks at me -- like I'm the only person in the room.

Lulu: I know that look. I'm getting that right now.

Carly: Okay.

[Lulu sighs]

Carly: Everybody wants to find that person that makes them see rainbows and stars, okay? But we need more. If Spinelli is half the friend to you that Jason is to me, you hold on to him for dear life.

Mac: What's the problem now?

Kate: I have been told by one of your more genteel employees that there is a horde of reporters just waiting for my release outside.

Mac: And?

Kate: And if I walk out that door next to a man with his reputation, what's left of mine will be obliterated.

Mac: The judge released you into Sonny's custody, so the only way you get to leave here is with Sonny.

Kate: Okay. Fine. Then I'll just wait here -- until my lawyer can come up with a more palatable solution.

Mac: You know, you have reduced three of my best female officers to tears, and my men have spent the better part of the morning ignoring their jobs to handle your personal errands. Now, I can't have my entire force distracted while your lawyer petitions the judge for a more palatable solution. So you either leave with Sonny, or you're going to go back into solitary with no phone, no visitors, and absolutely no special treatment.

Kate: That's a little extreme, don't you think?

Mac: Well, it's your choice.

[Kate sighs]

Kate: See, I don't -- I don't think you understand. It is one thing to be arrested for reckless driving -- you can spin that, turn it into an amusing story at cocktail parties -- my brush with the law or some such -- but Sonny is -- he's unspinnable. Leaving here with him will cause the wrong kind of scandal -- no offense.

Sonny: No, none taken. And just to prove to you that I'm not offended, I'm going to fix this for you.

Patrick: It's not my fault that you weren't in the mood this morning.

Robin: It's not my fault that sex is the only way you know how to communicate.

Patrick: Okay, time-out, Robin. Where -- where is this coming from? I mean, did I look too long at one of the scrub nurses in surgery yesterday? Or did I miss one of those crucial girlie days that are made up to make men look like insensitive pigs when we forget it?

Robin: Oh, that would make it so easy for you, right -- just wine and dine me, smooth everything over?

Patrick: You know what? Right now I'll take any excuse to explain your behavior.

Robin: I can't believe you're blaming this on me right now.

Patrick: Well, it's not my fault. So if you're looking for an excuse, it's not going to happen. I don't even know what you think I did.

Robin: Of course you don't -- men never do.

Patrick: Wow, that's a pretty sweeping generalization, don't you think? Almost sexist, I would say. Tell me again why I got into a committed relationship.

Noah: You're asking the wrong guy. Eli Love is not qualified, and neither is his impersonator. I think you're on your own.

Judge: May I remind you, Ms. McCall, you're still under oath.

Sam: I understand.

Diane: How much does Sam know about your and Sonny's business?

Jason: Enough.

Ric: Ms. McCall, would you refresh the jury's memory as to how you know the defendant?

Sam: Jason and I were in a relationship for the past three years.

Ric: And in that time, you lived with Jason Morgan. Is that correct?

Sam: I did.

Ric: In your previous testimony, you told the court that the defendant, Jason Morgan, often kept guns in the house and used them to shoot people.

Diane: Objection, Your Honor. The witness has already established that the defendant has a license for every weapon in question and has only used them in self-defense.

Judge: Sustained. Mr. Lansing, if you have no new ground to cover, I'll have to excuse the witness.

Ric: Your Honor, in my experience, many witnesses often remember vital information only after they have left the courtroom.

Diane: Oh --

Ric: Now, it is impossible for Ms. McCall to remember every single detail that she ever saw or every word that she ever heard in the course of a three-year relationship. But now that some time has passed, the witness may be better able to recall the events leading up to Lorenzo Alcazar's murder.

Diane: Objection -- prejudicial.

Judge: Mr. Lansing, we've been over this before, several times.

Ric: Yes -- yes, Your Honor, I'm sorry. The events -- the events leading up to the disappearance of Lorenzo Alcazar.

Judge: I'll allow it, but keep it brief.

Ric: We've already established that the defendant owns guns and has shot people -- some even in your own presence. Is that correct?

Sam: Yes.

Ric: Have you ever heard or seen Jason Morgan actively plan to kill anyone?

Ric: We've become very desensitized to murder in our society. We read about it in the paper every day. It's been glorified in the movies and in television --

Diane: Objection -- objection! The prosecution is addressing the jury.

Judge: Stop waxing eloquent and find a question, Mr. Lansing.

Ric: Ms. McCall, have you ever heard the defendant, Jason Morgan, make arrangements to kill anyone at all?

Sam: No, I haven’t.

Ric: You can take your time, Ms. McCall. We are after the truth here, no matter how long it takes.

Sam: No, I don't need any more time. I have never heard Jason Morgan make arrangements to kill anyone.

Ric: Really? Are you sure?

Diane: Objection.

Judge: Sustained. Move it along, Mr. Lansing.

Ric: So you never heard the defendant, Jason Morgan, make any arrangements to kill anybody, but you have, in fact, been in Jason Morgan’s presence when he's taken a life. Is that correct?

Sam: Yes, and I have even shot people myself in self-defense -- like Jason did. And it's terrible knowing that your actions destroyed another person's life -- whether you did it to protect them or not.

Diane: Your Honor? I -- I fail to see how Ms. McCall’s testimony in this case is relevant. May we please move it along?

Judge: Mr. Lansing, do you have any further questions for this witness that actually pertain to this case?

Ric: No, Your Honor, I do not.

Judge: Ms. Miller?

Diane: No questions, Your Honor.

Judge: You may step down.

Diane: You owe her for that.

Kate: Messenger a decent change of clothes to 120 Shoreline Road. Don't ask questions, Clarice, just do it.

Sonny: I kind of like the outfit you got on.

Max: It's different.

Kate: Max, my bags are waiting and packed at the Metro Court, and I would send my assistant, but she's stuck in traffic. So would you please, really -- would you please go over to the hotel and pick them up so that I can change out of this dreadful outfit?

Sonny: Go ahead, Max, just do what the lady says.

Max: I'll see what I can do, boss.

Sonny: Yeah.

Kate: Never been so humiliated in my life.

Sonny: It got you past the press, didn't it?

Kate: Okay, that creature I exchanged clothes with is now walking around in my new Llorente blouse, and I'm in -- this.

Sonny: If the nuns from Sacred Heart were here, they'd think that --

[Kate sighs]

Sonny: You know, they'd probably give you a demerit.

Kate: Thanks. Do you have any idea where this outfit has probably been?

Sonny: No. No.

Kate: Oh, I'll tell you -- probably on the floor of some cheap motel, where they rent rooms by the hour. And to make matters worse, one of the reporters offered to pay me for a -- an unspeakable act.

Sonny: Being propositioned is the least of your worries. What you need to do is sit down with Diane and figure out how you guys are going to fight these --

Kate: No, no, no, no, no. What I need is a shower and a change -- and to call Paris and discuss the cover shoot that was just ruined by an --

Sonny: Drop the act! You committed a crime last night. You have a prior conviction. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Kate: Yeah. It's almost funny coming from you.

Sonny: Okay, go ahead, brush it off all you want, but you are not walking away from these charges. As a matter of fact -- Connie -- you could even do time.

Spinelli: I'm -- I'm not trying to disrespect the Blond One's wishes. I -- I fully intend on giving you as much space as you need -- although, it -- it may not appear that way because you're here and I'm here. But I assure you that was more of like a cosmic coincidence. I'm not stalking you or anything. In fact, I was merely here to solicit some sage advice from the Valkyrie, so --

Carly: You want to know my advice? Talk to each other.

Spinelli and Lulu: I'm sorry. Go ahead --

Lulu: No, you go.

Spinelli: Okay, um -- the Jackal expresses his sincere apologies for upsetting you. Please -- please, can you -- can you find it in your blond heart to forgive me?

Lulu: Of course. I don't want Logan or any other guy to come between us.

Spinelli: So we're still friends?

Lulu: As long as you need one.

Jerry: Keep looking. I want my brother found now.

Carly: Oh -- good, you're still here.

Jerry: Well, you asked me to wait, you know.

Carly: See? Look at that -- getting along, functioning in harmony.

Jerry: Hmm.

Carly: We're not at each other's throats anymore.

Jerry: Well, I'm really glad that we came to an understanding of some sort.

Carly: Me, too -- which takes me back to the original question.

Jerry: Oh, God.

Carly: When are you going to bring Jax home?

Irina: That was fantastic. Imagine how good it would be if I had your full cooperation.

Jax: Why are you doing this?

Irina: I believe we've covered that already.

Jax: I'm sorry that Jerry hurt you.

Irina: It's not your pity I want; it's your brother's pain. You are a problem -- one that I could have grown very fond of -- which is why it's time to finish this.

Robin: Why did you change Mrs. Miesner's ace inhibitors?

[Patrick sighs]

Patrick: Look, why don't we forget about work for a little while? We'll clock out, we'll go home --

Robin: Oh, work it out in bed?

Patrick: I was going to say we could pack a lunch, take a drive down to the water and talk.

Robin: Right.

Patrick: But since you're so hell-bent on being bitchy, it would just be a waste of gas. So when you're ready to tell me what the hell is going on, come and find me. Other than that --

Robin: I think I might be pregnant!

Kate: You might want to burn those -- God only knows what was on that skirt.

Sonny: You going somewhere?

Kate: Clarice is driving me back to Manhattan. She should be here shortly.

Sonny: I guess you didn't read the release papers clearly, but you can't leave town.

Kate: Oh, okay. Well, um, then I'll have her drive me back to the Metro Court, where I can wait just long enough for my lawyer to straighten this all out.

Sonny: I think you should stay here.

[Kate sighs]

Kate: Look, just because the judge released me into your custody doesn't mean I'm your prisoner.

Sonny: Well, all I'm -- I'm thinking maybe it would be a better idea for you to be around someone when it finally hits you.

Kate: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Sonny: "I have no idea what --" do you? You think I don't know you? You can't deny that, right now, you're scared.

Kate: Sonny, what you see is exhaustion. I spent the night in a jail cell.

Sonny: Yeah, and you can spend six more months there.

Kate: No.

Sonny: No?

Kate: No. I'm not going to go to jail. No, I -- I have a magazine to run, I have an image to uphold, I'm the editor in chief of "Couture" magazine. I can't -- I can't go to jail. I -- I'd lose everything. Oh, my God. I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't know what to do.

Sonny: Come here. It's all right.

Judge: Do you have any more witnesses to call, Mr. Lansing?

Ric: The prosecution rests, Your Honor.

Judge: You may call your first witness, Ms. Miller.

Diane: Thank you, Your Honor. Defense calls Michio Takahama. Mr. Takahama, could you tell us all, please, what is it that you do for a living?

Michio: I'm the coroner for the city of Port Charles.

Diane: And what, exactly, does that entail?

Michio: My job is to determine the cause of any unexplained or sudden deaths that are reported to the police.

Diane: That would include murders?

Michio: Yes.

Diane: How does one go about determining the cause of death?

Michio: By performing an autopsy.

Diane: Did you perform an autopsy on the body of Lorenzo Alcazar?

Michio: No, I did not.

Diane: Why not?

Michio: There was no body.

Diane: So with no body, can you be sure beyond a reasonable doubt that Lorenzo Alcazar is even dead?

Ric: Objection, Your Honor.

Judge: Overruled.

Diane: Do you have any proof whatsoever that Lorenzo Alcazar was killed by my client or anyone else?

Michio: No.

Jerry: I have the feeling that you suddenly being nice to me is a ruse to get Jax back.

Carly: My husband's been gone for weeks. You sent him on a wild-goose chase so we could work out our differences and we have.

Jerry: I can see that your hatred towards me hasn't waned a bit.

Carly: Why are you stalling? You have no idea where Jax is, do you?

Marty: Carly?

Carly: What?

Marty: You have a phone call --

Carly: Take a message.

Marty: She insists on talking to you. She says it's about your husband.

Carly: Hello?

Irina: Mrs. Jacks?

Carly: Who are you, and what do you know about my husband?

Irina: Quite a bit -- I just slept with him.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Patrick: You think you're pregnant? How could this have happened?

Carly: Let me speak to my husband.

Irina: I'm afraid that won't be possible.

Ric: Jason Morgan committed murder.

Diane: Lorenzo Alcazar is still alive.

Judge: Have you reached a verdict?

Foreman: We have, Your Honor.
