Alexis: I really appreciate you getting me to the hospital. It was very, very thoughtful of you, but you should really go off now and do what you do during your day.

Carly: I have kids. I have a job.

Alexis: You do?

Carly: Mm-hmm.

Alexis: You should probably hurry, then, and get to the Metro Court.

Carly: I'm not crazy about being here, either, Alexis. But Nikolas hasn't called me back, and you have no one else because you pushed Sam away, remember?

Alexis: I can take care of myself, Carly.

Carly: Alexis, you are a mother of two young children. You have cancer. You do need help. You need to decide who you can stand to take it from.

Viola: Are you sure this is all right with Alexis?

Ric: Oh, Alexis is a very, very sick woman. We don't want to bother her with any of this, ok? Don't worry, we'll be right back. Come on, sweetheart. Yes, we're going to see all the ducks. Don't worry, sweetheart. Daddy's got everything figured out, huh?

Sonny: What about Sam? I mean, you know, now that you cut your ties with Elizabeth -- you want to get back with her? I -- I know she's making all kinds of excuses for what happened, but the bottom line is she slept with Ric, he's your enemy. Can you live with that?

[Phone rings]

Luke: I hope you're safe in there, wherever you are. I hope you're not afraid. I hope I didn't cause you any pain. I had to try to get you back for the kids -- and for us. We've beaten the odds so many times, you and I. But this time the house wins. Our luck didn't hold.  I love you.

Laura: Luke?

Luke: Is it you?

Laura: Of course it's me.

Sam: Hello?

Viola: Maybe I don't need to tell you this. I mean, he said he'd be right back with her.

Sam: You mean Ric? What did he do?

Viola: Ric took Molly. I'm sure it's fine, but --

Sam: Ok, thanks for letting me know. Ric took Molly.

Alexis: Viola is a -- is a wonderful nanny. The kids are well taken care of. They're not alone, and there are competent nurses here at General Hospital.

Carly: That's not what I'm talking about and you know it.

Alexis: I also have Nikolas.

Carly: Really? Because he hasn't even called to check on you. Why can't you admit that you need help? Why is that so terrifying to you?

Alexis: Carly, your advice is -- is not helping.

Carly: You are not superwoman. You are human. Admit that you made a mistake and you threw out Sam when Ric’s the one that took advantage of her.

Alexis: You really have no idea what happened, do you?

Carly: I can connect the dots, Alexis.

Alexis: No, you don't connect them. You rearrange them to validate your insane machinations.

Carly: Let me tell you something. You need to realize that your daughter has a self-image problem --

[Alexis sighs]

Carly: And Ric took advantage of that.

[Phone rings]

Alexis: Hello?

Viola: I probably shouldn't worry you with this, Alexis, but Ric took Molly.

Alexis: What? Took her where?

Viola: He didn't say where, and he said not to worry you, but I thought you'd want to know.

Alexis: No, you did the right thing. Can you hand me that?

Carly: What happened?

Alexis: Ric took Molly.

Carly: What? Well, who are you calling? What are you going to do?

Alexis: I have no idea, but I'm not going to let him get away with this.

Ric: Look what we got here, huh? Daddy got a nice room. Look -- I got your playpen over there, yeah, with all kinds of toys. Huh? You maybe want to go down?

[Knock on door]

Ric: Who is that, huh? Let's go see.

[Molly babbles]

Ric: Yeah.

Det. Rodriguez: What's going on?

Ric: I want you to take this to Judge Hunter in family court right away.

Det. Rodriguez: What is it?

Ric: Not that it's any of your business, but it's a document granting me emergency sole custody of my daughter.

Det. Rodriguez: Hold on. I'm not getting involved in your domestic disputes.

Ric: You know what? You work for me, Rodriguez. You do as I ask, or I'm going to have you busted down to meter reader. Get out of here.

[Molly babbles]

Ric: Yeah. Right? He'll do what Daddy says. Ah, sweetie, sweetie, sweetie. You know, your mom's going to want you back. Yeah, Alexis is going to fight tooth and nail because she hates to lose. But Daddy knows more about winning than she can ever imagine. Hmm.

Lulu: Now I get why Dad didn't want to tell us about the experimental drug.

Lucky: He believed it could bring Mom back. But he also knew that it might make her worse.

Lulu: Yeah, and he also thought we would get our hopes up, and I did. I kept picturing her the way that she used to be.

Nikolas: After four years, I was getting used to not hoping.

Lucky: Me, too. I pretty much accepted that the mom we loved was never coming back.

Nikolas: Yeah. And then along comes this whisper of hope.

Lulu: I was already imagining being with her again.

Nikolas: Yeah, me, too -- hearing her laugh, telling her about Spencer, seeing her hold her grandson for the first time.

Lucky: For a minute there I was sure it was going to help Mom.

Nikolas: Yeah. Well, you know, it's -- it's over now. We can't make ourselves crazy anymore. Mom's just not coming back, and maybe that's for the best.

Lulu: What? How can you say that?

Nikolas: Well, Lulu, you heard what Robin said. Even if this drug did manage to bring her out of that state, there's a reason she was in it to begin with. And how's her mind going to react to all these emotions and memories, including the one where she killed her own stepfather? I mean, it might put her into a life of living hell. The doctors say that she's -- she's at peace right now. Maybe that's a good thing.

Lulu: Well, a part of me is relieved. I mean, after what happened this summer, I don't know if I could face her.

Laura: Are you all right?

Luke: Oh. I am so much better than "all right." Oh. You're back. It's you. It's -- it's you. And I -- I told myself to keep believing, but -- I --

[Luke chuckles]

Laura: Am I dreaming?

Luke: No, no, sweetheart. The dream is over, the nightmare is over. You woke up. You came back to me!

Laura: Ah. Hold me.

Luke: Are you ok? You feel all right?

Laura: I -- hazy. What happened?

Luke: Let's just take it slowly. There's plenty of time to go into all of that.

Laura: Where am I? It's a hospital?

Luke: Yes.

Laura: I don't remember coming here. Was I in an accident?

Luke: Sort of. But you're ok, and you're back now. And everything is grand.

Laura: Did something happen on the way to the wedding?

Luke: What is the last thing that you remember?

Laura: We were getting married. And you wanted it to be small, just the kids and -- and family.

Luke: That's right.

Laura: Was I in a car crash? Luke, how badly was I hurt?

Luke: Listen --

Laura: Am -- am I --

Luke: You're ok.

Laura: All right?

Luke: You're ok. You're ok. You are. You were unconscious for a while. But you're all right, you're back, and everything's going to be ok.

Laura: Then why do you look worried?

Luke: Oh, I'm not really worried. Not anymore.

Laura: Yes, you are.

Luke: No, no, it's nothing, really. You and I have been through so much worse.

Lulu: I don't think Mom would be too thrilled to see how I turned out.

Lucky: Are you kidding, Lulu? She'd be so proud of you.

Lulu: Yeah? Which part would impress her? The part when I lied to get Dillon to sleep with me, or when I had an abortion?

Nikolas: She -- she would love you no matter what.

Lucky: Besides, if she had anybody to come down on, it would be me. A year into my marriage and I'm already in rehab, on my way to a divorce?

Nikolas: Lucky, you're pulling yourself together; you're committed to your recovery. She'd be proud of that, as well.

Lucky: I'm doing the best I can. The one thing that I've learned is that I can't do it alone. As a matter of fact, I could use your help.

Diego: Hey, you wanted to see me?

Lorenzo: Yes. I'm landing a couple of shipments next week. You're welcome to participate.

Diego: Yeah, ok. What do you really want, Dad?

Lorenzo: Well, you said you wanted to be involved in my business for quite a while.

Diego: Yeah, and every time I brought it up, you shut me down. So what's different now?

Lorenzo: Well, you're an adult. You're capable of making your own decisions.

Diego: Why would you trust me? You tried to keep Skye hidden, and I'm the one who told Luke.

Lorenzo: You know what? That worked out surprisingly well. In hindsight, I'm glad you did.

Diego: Ok, well, just so you know, I did it for her, not for you.

Lorenzo: I know. Believe me, I know. But there are more important issues, Diego, your safety for one. And I realize that you're going to run around outside the law -- with or without my help -- and you're going to be subject to increasing danger as my business heats up, which it's about to. So I'd rather keep you near than have you run around halfcocked without me, all right?

Diego: So, this is just fatherly concern?

Lorenzo: Yes. It is. I haven't been as close as I'd like. I let a lot of things get in the way. I'm sorry for that. But I'd like to change that. Because nothing's more important than family, and I think your little sister -- I think she helped me realize that.

Skye: I brought your daughter for a visit.

[Knock on door]

Sam: Hey, Molly. Hey, sweetie.

Ric: Molly's staying with me.

Sonny: Ok, Ric -- Ric, don't make this ugly.

Ric: In half an hour, I'm going to have a court order granting me full emergency sole custody of my daughter. So what you're doing right now is kidnapping.

Sonny: The court order -- do you have it now?

Ric: You know what? She's my daughter; I have every right to keep her. And what you're doing is you have no business here snatching my daughter out of my arms.

Sonny: Act like a parent so we can resolve this. You don't want her to grow up without a mother, do you?

Ric: No, thanks, baby.

[Molly babbles]

Ric: Yeah. Go ahead, honey.

Sam: Hi.

[Molly fusses]

Ric: It's ok, sweetie.

Sam: Come on.

Ric: It's all right, go ahead.

Sam: Come on.

Ric: I'll get her bag.

Sam: Let's go play.

[Molly cries]

Ric: I know, sweetie. It's ok.

Sonny: Do you really want to go down this road, Ric?

Ric: I wanted my daughter. I don't see how it's any different than you.  Yeah, I took my daughter. But you, of all people, should understand why -- you did the same thing.

Sonny: I didn't have your twisted motives.

Ric: Really? And what are those, Sonny? Neither of us did this for revenge. We did it because we love our children. You knew full well that Alexis was going to try and keep your daughter away from you. You weren't -- you weren't going to let that happen.

Sonny: Do not compare us, Ric.

Ric: The only difference between the two of us, Sonny, is you didn't have to worry about a sibling dividing Alexis' attentions.

Sonny: You're rationalizing.

Ric: Alexis favors Kristina over Molly, ok? She fawns over her. She puts all of her attention on -- on Kristina over Molly, all right? I -- it's a knee-jerk thing. I don't even think she realizes that she does it. Maybe it's from all the time she tried to protect Kristina from you. I don't know. But she's definitely got Molly second in her heart, and I know what that's like growing up, ok? Been there and I've done that, and I am not going to let that happen to my daughter.

Sonny: Alexis has cancer, Ric. She needs Molly now. This would tear her apart. She needs to stay strong.

Ric: And I need to do what is best for my daughter.

Sonny: Not now. Once Alexis is cancer-free -- hey, you know what? Do what you want. You want custody of Molly? That's your business, not mine.

Ric: You are such a lousy hypocrite.

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: Let's go.

Sam: Oh.

Carly: Hey.

Sam: Ok. Look, Molly, it's Mommy.

Alexis: Are you ok? Hi, sweet girl.

Sam: Here you go.

Alexis: Hi, my little sweetie. Do you need some water? I see you need some water, huh? Do you want some water? You need a drink of water?

Carly: What happened?

Sam: I was on the pier when I got a call from Viola saying that Ric had Molly.

Alexis: She did the right thing. She called me, too.

Sam: Well, Sonny and Jason -- they -- they just happened to be there, and they tracked Ric down at the Metro Court. So we all went there, and he gave her up pretty easily without a fuss because he didn't want to make a scene and -- well, here we are.

Carly: Isn't that great that your daughter was there to help?

Alexis: Thank you, Sam.

Skye: Here she is. Oh.

Diego: Well -- um -- she's -- uh -- she's tiny. Look, I don't -- I don't want to hurt her or anything --

Skye: Oh, please. You're not going to hurt her. Babies are much sturdier than people think.

Diego: Hi. I'm -- um -- I'm your brother, Diego. And -- um -- I'm going to be beating up any guys that talk to you when you get older. She's beautiful.

Skye: Thank you. All right, why don't I put her down. It looks like she wants to keep sleeping.

Diego: Oh, yeah.

Skye: Ok. Come here, sweetheart. My little angel. Come here, my little sweet pea.

Diego: Hey, Dad, listen.

Lorenzo: Yeah?

Diego: About that offer -- I think I'm going to take you up on that.

Lorenzo: Great. I'm glad we'll be working together.

Diego: Yeah, yeah, me, too. Me, too. Ok. I'll see you later, ok?

Lorenzo: Ok.

Diego: Congratulations, Skye.

Skye: Thanks.

Diego: She's beautiful.

Lorenzo: Whew.

Skye: Well, Lila Rae’s eyes are wide open now. I guess she's not tired after all.

Lorenzo: I think she's entitled to her opinion.

Skye: You're just sympathetic because she's strong-minded just like her father.

Lorenzo: You mean "like her mother."

Skye: Well, I guess between the two of us, she's going to be quite a handful.

Lorenzo: I think she's going to be magnificent. Would you like to come upstairs and see the nursery?

Skye: Why would you need a nursery?

Lorenzo: I'm still hoping that you and Lila Rae will come live with me.

Skye: I know you love your daughter, Lorenzo. But the reasons I left town to have this baby on my own haven't changed.

Patrick: You're doing surprisingly well. Your reflexes are excellent. You're alert, focused.

Laura: But I'm confused.

Luke: She said my name.

[Robin chuckles]

Luke: I -- I was walking to the door; I thought I heard her voice.

Robin: Mm-hmm?

Luke: But I wasn't sure. I went in and I looked, and she was really looking at me, Dr. Robin. She could see me. She's -- she's here, she's back.

Robin: I am so happy it worked.

Luke: I can't tell you how much I owe you for this.

Robin: Hmm.

Luke: She's still pretty disoriented.

Robin: Right. What does she remember?

Luke: Well, so far, she just remembers that we were going to be remarried.

Robin: Mm-hmm?

Luke: And she doesn't seem to connect any of the other things that led to her breakdown at this point. Maybe they're all still locked away in the back of her mind.

Robin: Well, that's good. But she will need help adjusting. The large time gap can be very unsettling to her, not to mention the trauma that first caused her to shut down.

Luke: Right. What do I do now?

Robin: Get her an experienced psychiatrist.

Luke: Ok. So, doctor, she pass your tests?

Patrick: Matter of fact, she did. Aside from the expected muscle weakness, she's perfect. Congratulations, Laura, you're a living miracle.

Luke: And when she came to, when she woke up, she seemed immediately to be lucid.

Lainey: What did she say?

Luke: She wanted to know where we are.

Lainey: What does she remember?

Luke: She remembers that we were about to be remarried.

Lainey: I've reviewed Laura’s case, including the psychological triggers that brought on the catatonia. She hasn't referenced any of it?

Luke: No. Uh -- her stepfather's death doesn't seem to be registering at all. She thinks it's four years ago. And she's asking questions and I'm not sure how to answer them.

Lainey: Well, the emotional shocks that Laura suffered years ago are still buried somewhere in her mind. I strongly advise you not to bring on other trauma, or it could reverse all the good that this drug has done and cause her to shut down again -- or worse.

Robin: And LS49 only works once.

Luke: Yes, I know, Dr. Robin. You've told me that, he's told me that, Legrasse told me that. We've been through this in numbing detail. I got the picture. I -- I'm not going to play Russian Roulette with her fragile mental health by encouraging her to regurgitate the past. Thanks.

Laura: What did they say?

Luke: Uh -- they're just going over your case. You know doctors. Apparently, you have defied medical precedence, my love, and a whole lot of other technical mumbo-jumbo that I don't understand.

Laura: Is there something else?

Alexis: Thank you so much for bringing Molly.

Sam: Come on.

Alexis: I really am very grateful to you.

Sam: Yeah, she just wanted to be around her family, right?

Alexis: As much as I appreciate her being here, I don't think it's good for her to stay in the hospital. If I could just impose on you one more time, do you think you'd be able to drop her off at -- at home and let Viola watch her?

Sam: Yeah. Sure.

Alexis: Thanks.

Sam: It's not a problem.

Alexis: I imagine you're planning on moving out?

Sam: Yeah, I -- um -- I just have a few things to pack, that's all.

Alexis: I haven't had a chance to talk to Kristina. Um -- I hope you can -- will be gentle with her because she's so fond of you.

Sam: Are you kidding? Of course I will. I'll make it quick and easy. Come on, Molly. Let's go back home, yeah? You want to go? Ok.

Carly: Oh, man. You are unbelievable.

Alexis: Oh, Carly, please, I don't need a commentary.

Carly: No, how hard would it have been for you to say, "Sam, I'm sorry. Could you please stay?" Couldn't you have choked that out, Alexis?

Alexis: It's better this way.

Carly: No, it's not -- well, it is for Ric. You're playing right into his hands.

[Knock on door]

Ric: What's this?

Det. Rodriguez: Judge Hunter denied your petition.

Ric: Alexis must've gotten to her.

Det. Rodriguez: The judge said she wasn't going to take a child from a cancer-stricken mother. And by the way, I'm a cop; I'm not your messenger. You got personal problems, you handle them yourself.

Sonny: Ric and Alexis breaking up is the worst thing that could happen to our business. As long as he was in that marriage, he had to play by the rules because he wanted to hold on to Molly and Alexis. But I tell you what, right now the gloves are off. I'll tell you what he's going to do. He's going to use Molly to do whatever sick thing he wants to do.

Jason: Ok, how far are you going to let him push us before you push back?

Lulu: Hey.

Nikolas: We got what you asked for.

Lucky: Thank you.

Lulu: Um -- just don't get your hopes up, ok, because one gift is not going to make her come back.

Lucky: I'm not expecting anything. I just wanted her to know that I remembered our anniversary.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Robin: Hey, I didn't think you guys would still be here.

Nikolas: Uh -- we were just about to leave.

Lucky: Yeah. Did something happen?

Robin: Laura regained consciousness.

Lulu: What? Our mother's come back?

Robin: She's awake and alert and talking to your father.

Luke: Now, nothing's wrong. Nothing. I was just talking to the doctors about how to keep you awake and alert.

Laura: And what did they say?

Luke: They said to not let you out of my sight, and I said that's no problem.

Laura: And?

Luke: And -- and nothing. And that's it. Dr. Drake isn't a spin master. If he says you're fine, you are. And believe me, you are fine. You've never been more beautiful to me than you are right now.

Laura: Why are you trying to distract me?

Luke: Well -- well, why do you think I would do that?

Laura: Where are the kids? Luke, where are the kids? Oh, my God. Were the kids in the car?

Luke: No --

Laura: Were they in the car?

Luke: No, no, no, no, no. No, sweetheart, the kids are fine. They're ok. They're -- they're fine. I just -- I just haven't had a chance to call them.

Laura: Oh, God.

Lorenzo: I'd tell you that I'm leaving the business now that our baby's been born, but it would be a lie, and I don't want to lie to you ever again.

Skye: Well, I guess I should be thankful for that. It's not the answer I was hoping for.

Lorenzo: I do what I do because I'm good at it. This business defines me in a way that nothing else ever has.

Skye: You know, you used to talk about your love of history, your books.

Lorenzo: They're a hobby, not a vocation.

Skye: But you could be very good at it. It could be very fulfilling for you.

Lorenzo: You know, it'd be too dangerous to quit. I know too much. I'd be perceived as a rat if I tried to walk away.

Skye: So where does that leave us, Lorenzo?

Lorenzo: From the moment I laid eyes on our daughter, I loved her beyond belief. I never had a chance to raise Diego, and I’d like that to be different this time. I cannot wait to push her in her stroller, see her take her first step, watch her blow out birthday candles, cheer her on at soccer games, and everything in between.

Skye: What if she's not safe?

Lorenzo: The best way to protect you and our daughter is to be so powerful that no one's going to touch us.

Skye: Is there such a thing?

Lorenzo: Yeah. It's how I was raised. I was safe.

Skye: You were under constant guard.

Lorenzo: That seemed normal to me. It will seem normal to our daughter. Skye, you know this is possible. People in your world, they do it all the time. The use money to insulate and protect themselves.

Skye: If you're talking about the Quartermaines, they generally don't have people shooting at them.

Lorenzo: As I said, power brings protection. And if I'm strong enough, my enemies -- they're not going to come anywhere near me.

Ric: Get out of the way. Get out of my way. I'm the District Attorney. If you put your hands on me, I swear -- get -- put your hands on me and I'll have you thrown in jail. I need to speak to you.

Lorenzo: It’s a bad time.

Skye: No, it's ok. Really. We'll finish this later.

Lorenzo: You do not barge into my home like that.

Ric: Obviously, you're trying to score points with the mother of your new child, but I am way past that. I am fighting to hold on to my daughter, and you are going to help me.

Carly: Why can't you just swallow your pride and admit that you can use Sam’s help.

Alexis: I -- I say this with so much love, but you got to stop talking or giving me advice.

Carly: Ok, you know what? You're going to give Ric grounds to keep Molly. He's got the judge in his back pocket now.

Alexis: Now you're going to give me legal advice?

Carly: You are too sick to take care of your kids!

Alexis: You're right, I am, and I really need to work on getting better. So you have to leave so I can start.

Carly: Fine. You got it. I'm done.

Alexis: Thank you, anyway.

Carly: Mm-hmm. She will not listen to reason. She won't, and I know -- "What else is new?" But I'm telling you, she thinks that she is going to be able to take care of Molly and Kristina and run everyone else's life. She's going to be in the hospital for a really, really long time, you know that?

Sonny: Ok, Carly, Carly, Carly, I got a solution.

Carly: You do?

Sonny: Yeah. We're going to take the kids.

Carly: "We"?

Sam: Hey. Honey, come here. Come here, sweetie. Give me a hug.

Kristina: Are you leaving?

Sam: Am I leaving? Well, I -- yes, I have to leave because I'm a big girl and I have to get a place of my own.

Kristina: Will I see you again?

Sam: Are you kidding me? Of course you're going to see me again. You know what? We're going talk on the phone all the time. I mean, we're going to talk so much. And we're going to go to the park, and we're going to get ice cream. We're going to do all the cool things that we always did. Ok?

Kristina: I love you, Sam.

Sam: Oh, I love you, too -- hmm -- very, very, very, very, very much. Oh, thank you. You know what? I think Ariel’s sleepy. Why don't you go put her to bed?

[Sam sighs]

Jason: You need help with that?

Sonny: You said yourself that Alexis is going to be in the hospital for a couple of days, and I'm thinking while she's in there, that I'm going to take Molly and Kristina home with me.

Carly: Ok, that's nice. Where do I fit in?

Sonny: Well, where you fit in is I want you and the boys to move in.

Carly: Why?

Sonny: Well, because the girls. I mean, they're going to need a sense of security, a family, and a -- a maternal presence.

Carly: I don't think Alexis approves of my maternal presence.

Sonny: You are a great mother; you love children. You know that. Come on --

Carly: Uh-huh. This has nothing to do with the fact that I'll be spending more time at your place and less time with Jax, huh?

Sonny: Actually, it never -- I never really thought of that.

Carly: No, no, no, you've been thinking about the kids.

Sonny: No, no, no, you have a big heart. You -- you play with the kids; you make them laugh. You would be --

Carly: Uh-huh. Right.

Sonny: No -- I mean, you know look, the girls have been through so much. You can't just turn them away. I mean, they need you, Carly.

Carly: Kids are resilient, Sonny, they are.

Sonny: Ok. Well, I guess -- I guess -- I guess me, Max, and Milo can go ahead and do what we got to do to take care of --

Carly: You're shameless. You know that? You're shameless.

Sonny: What do you mean I'm shameless?

Carly: Ok, I'll do it! Fine, I'll do it!

Sonny: I told -- ok. I appreciate it. Give me a hug.

Carly: Oh --

Sonny: All right. That's great.

Carly: One condition.

Sonny: Yeah, anything, anything.

Carly: Tiny, tiny hurdle. You have to get Alexis' approval.

Sonny: No time like the present.

Carly: Let's go.

Sonny: Ok.

Carly: Hello.

Alexis: Hi.

Sonny: Ahem.

Alexis: Sonny, thank you for what you did for Molly today.

Sonny: You know that Molly and Kristina can't stay with a nanny because, you know, Ric could go after Molly again and -- and no one's going to be able to stop him.

Alexis: What's your point?

Sonny: I'm worried about Kristina, and I -- because I think that rice’s going to use her against me. So -- um -- I'm thinking of just taking Molly and Kristina home with me. So -- you don't have to worry about a mother figure because Carly's going to be there. The boys can play with Kristina, and, you know, it's like we're one big, happy family.

Sam: Hey. Thank you for helping me get Molly away from Ric.

Jason: Oh, I was glad -- glad to help you.

Sam: And I also appreciate that you didn't bust me for eavesdropping on you and Sonny, because that was wrong.

Jason: How much did you hear?

Sam: Well, Sonny asked if you would ever get over the fact that I was with Ric and, well, you didn't get a chance to answer.

Jason: I would've said that I'd want us both to get past it, and I think we can.

Sam: Good, because I think we can, too. But first, I have some big changes to make because I have -- um -- I've been living my life for you, obviously, and for Alexis, and I've got to start building a life of my own, living for myself.

Jason: Ok. What are you -- what are you going to do?

Sam: Well, I'm going to go back to work.

Jason: You're going to go back to the police station?

Sam: Well, yeah.

Jason: You know you're going to be in constant contact with Ric?

Sam: With Ric.

Jason: Right.

Sam: I know, I know. But, Jason, he doesn't scare me. I am getting my life back, and then I want you in it.

Ric: The stakes are much higher for us now that our children are involved. We need to get rid of Sonny and Jason once and for all.

Lorenzo: The last time you wanted to work with me, you expected me to take all the risks while you reaped all the benefits.

Ric: How much is it worth to you to guarantee your daughter's safety?

Lorenzo: I'm handling that.

Ric: Oh, I see you are. Because Sonny is weak right now because of Jason, and Jason is vulnerable because of Sam. Now, Sam -- she has a bit of a checkered past, which makes her uniquely vulnerable. If you find a way to hurt her, then all the rest of the dominoes fall.

Lorenzo: The goal being to put Sonny and Jason away for good, right?

Ric: Exactly. You know, technology's amazing. I mean, take this little flash drive, for instance. You can get almost an entire computer's worth of memory on something the size of a tube of lipstick. You can even make lies appear to be the truth.

Luke: I will call your mother, and I will call the kids, I promise you, and I'll tell them that you're back and that you're ok.

Laura: But I want to see them.

Luke: Well, of course you do, and you will. See, the -- the doctors want you to take things just a little bit slowly.

Laura: Oh --

Lulu: I can't believe Mom's back. What am I going to say?

Nikolas: We'll just tell her how glad we are to see her, and the rest will come later.

Laura: I want the kids to see that I'm all right. They must've been very worried.

Luke: Oh, they have been, believe me.

Laura: So then what's the point in waiting?

Luke: Sweetheart, I know that you're always going to think of everybody else before you think of yourself. But please humor me. The doctors want you to take it slow.

Laura: Oh --

Luke: Let's don't rush this.

Laura: Why?

Luke: Oh --

Lulu: Mom?

Laura: Lulu? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You -- you're all grown up. Oh -- oh, my God! Oh, God! How long have I been like this?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Lorenzo: It's all been arranged.

Jason: Going back to the PCPD is dangerous.

Sam: I need to make it on my own.

Ric: What are you doing here?

Lulu: Don't be upset, Mom!

Laura: How long?

Luke: It's been four years.
