Edward: Now, listen, the strategy worked with Maxie, and it will work for the rest of the vultures.
Tracy: Daddy, we're looking at a class-action suit.
Edward: We wouldn't be in this predicament if you hadn't decided to cut the costs.
Tracy: Daddy, you asked me to wake up the subsidiary. I did it.
Edward: I have never authorized a -- a defective product.
Tracy: You had no problem with the bottom line.
Edward: We can still save the bottom line and stave off the entire set of --
Lulu: Do you hear that?
Lulu: It sounds like a baby.
Dillon: No, you're hearing things.
Lulu: No, there it is again. Listen.
Dillon: You're right.
Edward: What is -- what's going on? My God. Skye, you're home.
Skye: Hello, Edward.
Edward: And look what you brought us.
Skye: It's my daughter -- Lila Rae.
Edward: Oh --
Robin: Still no change.
Patrick: Did you expect any?
Robin: Can I talk to you in the hall for a minute?
Patrick: So what is it, my bedside manner?
Robin: Or lack of.
Patrick: I promise you Laura Spencer doesn't care.
Robin: Look, I already know that you think Laura Spencer is a hopeless case.
Patrick: That's a certainty; that's not my opinion.
Robin: And I would agree if I hadn't already seen the effects of LS49, which you have seen, as well.
Patrick: Is Luke still interested?
Robin: I don't know. He's off on some adventure with my father right now, but I did order the medicine from Dr. Legrasse's clinic -
Patrick: And does he understand how devastating the side effects could be?
Robin: Yes, and I will explain to him once again everything before he makes his final decision.
Patrick: What about Laura’s children? Shouldn't they have a say in whether Luke risks their mother's remaining quality of --
Robin: Hold that thought. Hey.
Nikolas: Hi. I didn't expect to see you here. Uh -- has there been a change in my mother's condition?
[Knock on door]
Alexis: Hi Jason.
Jason: I just wanted to thank you. Sonny said that you got Ric to drop the charges against me.
Alexis: I was glad to help. Apparently, Sam and Ric have betrayed you almost as badly as they betrayed me, and if you have any ideas on how to get past that, let me know.
Carly: Tough break, huh?
Elizabeth: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Carly: Weren't you supposed to get the paternity test results yesterday?
Elizabeth: Who told you that?
Carly: You did originally. I overheard you telling a nurse that Jason might be the father of your baby. So, naturally, I was concerned.
Carly: Jason told me you were getting a paternity test. And if it showed that Jason was the father, you'd be over there right now measuring for curtains and telling everybody the happy news. But here you are, working as usual. I guess that means Lucky's the father, huh?
Elizabeth: Can't get a thing past you, can I?
Carly: Even you have to admit that this works out for the best. It would be a disaster if you were pregnant with Jason’s baby.
Jason: I don't really have an answer for you. I mean, all I can say is I -- I kept pushing Sam away. She was hurt, she was angry, she was drinking.
Alexis: No matter how drunk she was, I seriously doubt that she forgot Ric was my husband.
Sam: I bet mommy can't wait to hear all about Disney World. Oops. Right?
Kristina: I want to surprise her.
Alexis: Do you know that I bought this house on impulse? For Sam, so that she'd have a home to come home to, so that she had a family to be part of. And in turn, all I got was resentment, topped off with Sam having sex with my --

Alice: Well, you saved Skye the first time by getting her away from here, and then you saved her again by bringing her home with her cute little baby. Thank you.
Robert: Alice, it was just another mission, but thank you.
Luke: Yeah, another mission where I did all the hard work.
Skye: Excuse me? I'm the one who had the baby in the middle of nowhere.
Luke: Well, what about who found you, who rescued you?
Skye: Yes, it's true Luke and Robert did find me. But Lorenzo’s the one who delivered the baby.
Edward: Now, listen, you put that criminal out of your mind because you are safe here.
Tracy: Excuse me, weren't you planning on disappearing permanently?
Dillon: Mom, stop.
Skye: It's true. I did panic and I ran. But then when I calmed down, I realized that my baby and I belong here in this house, with all of you.
Alan: Lila Rae -- that's a very important name to live up to.
Skye: Alan, since you were the one who adopted me and first brought me into this clan, I'd like you to be the first one to hold my baby daughter.
Alan: I'd love to.
Tracy: Now she's going to cry.
Skye: Here, sweetie.
Monica: Tracy --
Tracy: She is. Watch.
Edward: Oh --
Robert: She's a spunky little tyke, this one.
Edward: I wish Lila were here to see this.
Tracy: Yeah, so do I.
Alan: It's ok, baby. It's all right, darling. It's ok.
Edward: Oh, please.
Luke: A little much for you -- bringing the baby home?
Lulu: Yeah, I guess so.
Luke: Are you all right?
Lulu: If not, I have no one to blame but myself.
Nikolas: I visit my mother twice a month and haven't noticed any changes. But if the doctors called you both in, is there possibly some hope here?
Patrick: I agree with the staff diagnosis. Laura has progressed from catatonia to psychomotor disassociation, which is irreversible.
Nikolas: What do you think?
Robin: We were called in for another patient. We just -- uh -- stopping by to see if she's ok.
Nikolas: Well, do you agree with him?
Robin: Barring some experimental drug or treatment, there's nothing anyone can do for your mom.
[Knock on door]
Maxie: Hi. Are you busy?
Lucky: Yeah, kind of.
Maxie: Look -- um -- I was hoping that you would call, because we need to make some plans for our baby.
Lucky: The best thing I can do for the baby is to get through my recovery.
Maxie: I -- I understand that, and if it were just me, I wouldn't be pushing, but I have more responsibility now -- we both do.
Lucky: You know what? I can't promise you anything.
Maxie: You don't know what it's like to grow up without a biological father. I do, and maybe that's why I'm so screwed up -- because the great Frisco Jones just couldn't be bothered. I mean, Mac was a great stepfather, and I can understand why he thinks I can raise this baby without any help or contact from you. He raised me, Georgie, and Robin, but I'm just not like him.
Lucky: No, we'll work something out.
Maxie: I can't do this alone. I need you, and so does our baby. And while you're in here getting your life back together, don't you think now is a good time for you to make a commitment to me and our child?
Alexis: Hi! Did you have a good time at Disney World? Oh.
Kristina: I saw Ariel -- she's a real mermaid.
Alexis: No, I didn't know that. That is really exciting.
Kristina: And she even bought me a doll and a DVD.
Alexis: She did? Well, she's a very generous big sister. Will you do me a favor?
Alexis: Keep them entertained. And mommy will be right in, ok? Go ahead, go ahead.
Viola: Come on.
Alexis: All right.
Sam: What happened?
Jason: I beat up Ric. I put him in the hospital. He filed attempted murder charges. Alexis got them dropped.
Alexis: Jason, you don't really need to be a part of this. This is between me and Sam, mother and daughter.
Jason: Ok --
Alexis: Thank you, though, for dropping by.
Jason: You don't have to stay for this.
Sam: I think I do.
Jason: Ok, just -- just call me.
Sam: I will. Ok, so, who told you? Was it Ric? No? Ok. Sonny? I know it wasn't Carly.
Alexis: No one told me. I came back here the night of the blackout to apologize. That's when I saw you and Ric having sex.
Lulu: If -- if I had had my baby, all cuddly and cute like Skye’s, I -- I would've never been able to give it away. But I wouldn't have been a good mom, either. I mean, it's not that I --
Luke: Lulu, "What might've been" is a really hard thing to live with.
Lulu: Yeah. Does it ever go away?
Luke: Well, you move on, do your best to put it behind you. But you never stop taking chances.
Lulu: You want to get out of here, don't you?
Luke: I need to go see your mother.
Lulu: That's ok. I'm fine. Give mom my love.
Luke: I will, baby.
Luke: You did the right thing, Lesley Lu.
Lulu: Thank you.
Robert: This family could definitely use a redhead.
Tracy: What do you know about this family?
Skye: I don't care what her hair color is.
Alice: Neither do I.
Tracy: You don't get an opinion -- you're a maid.
Skye: Yes, she does. You'll be spending a lot of time with this baby.
Monica: Oh, please don't let the staff raise the child.
Edward: Well, I see nothing wrong with having a little help with your children.
Alan: I'll always regret the time I missed with A.J. and Jason.
Edward: You did a terrible job with both of those boys.
Edward: If that's a lawyer, slam the door.
Dillon: I hope it's not Maxie.
Tracy: Oh, she won't be back.
Emily: Are you worried about all this bickering around your baby?
Skye: Oh, I think she'll get used to it. After all, it's the way the Quartermaines say "I love you."
Lorenzo: I'm here to see my daughter.
Edward: Over my dead body.
Sam: I was wrong to have sex with Ric.
Alexis: You think?
Sam: I am going to regret this for the rest of my life. I have been spending a lot of time thinking about this, about what happened and why.
Alexis: We all have, Sam. We all have ad nauseam, and you know what? I don't want to think about it or talk about it anymore.
Sam: No, you -- you brought this up. You're going to see it through right now.
Alexis: You know what? When you're right, you're right.
Sam: I wasn't flirting with Ric that night. Actually, I had abandoned all of my plans for revenge because I didn't want to hurt Molly or Kristina, and you know what? Here's a laugh for you -- I didn't want to hurt you, either.
Alexis: I seriously doubt that, Sam.
Sam: That night, do you even -- do you even remember what happened?
Alexis: Yes, I do. I walked into the house just in time to hear you call me a bitch.
Sam: Because you had set me up for yet another embarrassing encounter with Jason, so I had given up. I came back here and I started drinking. You walked in; you called me trash. You said that I was poisoning my sisters. You told me that I was pathetic and degraded.
Alexis: And Ric leapt to your defense -- it was very moving.
Sam: You told me to get out, and then you walked out the door.
Alexis: What did you expect me to do, Sam?
Sam: You forced Jason out of my life, and then you abandoned me! I had absolutely nothing! So I kept drinking! And Ric started drinking because he was angry, too, and you know what? We started talking, and the next thing -- we weren’t.
Alexis: Did you even care that Ric was my husband?
Sam: You know, actually it was kind of a relief to live down your expectations, to be that pathetic, degraded tramp that you --
Alexis: Stop crying and acting like a child, and act like a woman, Sam, and claim responsibility for what you've done. And I will not allow you to make this my fault.
Sam: Wow. I don't know who's acting like the child here, because I had one night with Ric. You -- you have been torturing me for weeks. Who's done the most damage here, mom?
Carly: Oh, God.
Jason: What's wrong?
Carly: Nothing. Nothing. Everything's fine. Welcome home. Sonny told me Ric had let you out.
Carly: I had to cut my trip short. Lady Jane is chasing something in the rain forest, and Jax had to go rescue Jerry, and I wanted to be here when you found out the news about Elizabeth’s baby.
Jason: Elizabeth left me a message last night, but she didn't tell me the results.
Carly: I saw her in the hospital. Lucky's the father.
Lucky: I will do the best that I can for the baby.
Maxie: If you really mean that, don't you think you should at least consider being a full-time father?
Lucky: I am still married to Elizabeth.
Maxie: Not for long. She's going through with the divorce and she's making sure everybody knows about it.
Lucky: I don't care. Even if the divorce happens, I will always love Elizabeth.
Maxie: I think if you let yourself, you could love me, too.
Lucky: I hurt you. I hate how I took advantage of you.
Maxie: That was the drugs, and -- and I forgive you, ok, even if Elizabeth won’t. We will put all of that behind us. Our baby needs both of us.
[Knock on door]
Lucky: Elizabeth, hi. I'm glad to see you.
Elizabeth: Timing's a little awkward.
Maxie: I just came by to tell Lucky how much our baby is going to need him.
Elizabeth: You know, getting pregnant and becoming a mother is a life-altering experience, yet I haven't seen any change in you at all. That's because you're as selfish and deluded as ever, which means this baby is going to need Lucky.
Maxie: Well, I don't think it's good for my baby to hear all this bitterness, so I'm going to go.
Lucky: Don't you think you were a little hard on her? Maxie's baby is still my responsibility.
Elizabeth: Yes, it is.
Lucky: Honey, you, Cam, and our baby will always be my first priority.
Elizabeth: Don't make me a priority, Lucky. I don't -- I don't need and I don't want your support. Now, I'm not going to stop you from seeing this child, but I will raise both of these babies on my own.
Jason: How did Elizabeth seem?
Carly: Like Elizabeth -- smug and in control. She's got to be disappointed. I mean, a druggie cop in rehab, or a great guy with tons of money, who would devote his entire life to making her happy -- even if it cost him the woman he loves?
Jason: Carly, seriously, what has Elizabeth done to make you hate her so much?
Carly: Plenty. For starters, I'm annoyed with the way you treat her like she's some fragile flower, Jason.
Jason: You can't blame Elizabeth for how I treat her.
Carly: She knew exactly what she was doing when she slept with you that night. She may not have planned on getting pregnant, but she's wanted to have a permanent hold on your life for a long time!
Jason: What are you talking about? No one planned what happened that night.
Carly: Oh, come on! Out of all the places she could've gone in Port Charles, she knocks on your door? Now she can be a part of your life without having to be involved with the danger. She wants you to worship her, Jason -- unlike Sam who is doing everything she can to fight to be in your life. Look, you've got to call her. You got to call her and tell her that you are not the father of Elizabeth’s baby.
Jason: Sam is dealing with her own problems at the moment.
Carly: What problems?
Jason: Alexis knows.
Sam: It's actually very twisted when you think about it. You knew how difficult it was for me and Ric to be in the same room together. We argued all the time. We couldn't stand to be around each other, but you kept pushing us together. You forced us to go to the mayor's cocktail party. Wow -- you must've loved that.
Alexis: From what I saw, you two looked like you enjoyed being in close proximity.
Sam: Oh -- was this all just a -- was it to punish me? Was this a way to rub in my face my -- my crimes? Because you knew that -- that I wouldn't do anything because you had cancer. What a perfect weapon for revenge.
Alexis: Try to grasp the concept that the cancer isn't about you, Sam. In fact, it kept me silent, because I wanted to keep my family intact. I was trying to protect two little girls who aren't able to defend themselves.
Sam: What about you and me? Did you -- did you enjoy watching me help you, knowing that I already failed? Was -- was it really fun to make me believe that we were bonding as mother and daughter, when clearly we weren't? Was this just some sort of -- a payback?
Alexis: If you can't understand that what I did was in an effort to take care of Kristina and Molly, then there's no point in arguing.
Sam: Ok, then. I guess there's no point.
Robin: I feel like I just lied to Nikolas. Laura is his mother. He has every right to know that there is an experimental treatment that could bring her back. But Luke thinks that it's very important to make this decision on his own.
Patrick: Which puts you in an impossible position.
Robin: I did mention the possibility to Lucky, but he obviously hasn't told Nikolas about it. Maybe that's better. Nikolas has a lot to worry about these days with Alexis and her cancer.
Patrick: What if it was your mother in there? Nikolas knew of an experimental drug that could possibly save her and he didn't tell you. How would you feel?
Robin: I'd be furious. He trusts me as his friend, and believe me, I want to tell him about all the options, I want to get him involved. But I can't ignore what Luke wants, either.
Patrick: I think you should resign from this case.
Robin: Why? You don't think I can be objective?
Patrick: I don't like what it's costing you, and I don't see it getting any better. Do you really want to be in the middle of a Spencer family fight?
Luke: When can we start Laura on the treatment?
Jason: The night Sam and Ric were together, I found Alexis outside the lake house. And she had this really bad coughing attack, so I had to take her to the hospital. And I wasn't sure, but Alexis must've seen Ric and Sam.
Carly: Oh, my -- I mean, that -- it's one thing to walk in on your husband with another woman, but when that woman is your daughter? It's horrible. And don't say anything to me about Bobbie because she didn't know that I was her daughter when she found me with Tony, ok? I don't know. It's hard for me to have a lot of sympathy for Alexis, though. She married the freak. Ric is insane.
Jason: Ok, that's fine. The point is Sam just found out Alexis has known all along.
Carly: Well, where's Sam now?
Jason: She's with Alexis. They're going to have to talk this out or fight this out -- whatever they're going to do -- but I'm worried. You know, Sam acts tough, but she's easily hurt, especially by her mother. No matter what she's done, no matter how angry she gets, Sam wants Alexis to love her.
Carly: Then you need go to Sam and you need to get Sam. You need to tell her that you are not the father of Elizabeth’s baby. Jason, that's the best thing you can do for her right now.
Skye: Thank you for being so polite to the Quartermaines.
Lorenzo: Well, thank you for rescuing me. If it weren't for you, I think they would've tossed me in the lake.
Skye: Not so long ago I wouldn't have blamed them.
Lorenzo: How about now?
Skye: Well, you were wonderful during Lila’s birth, and I realized that I can't deny the truth. You're her father, and I want you to be a part of her life.
Lorenzo: Thank you.
Skye: But the problem isn't solved. From what I saw in South America, you're more entrenched in your business than ever. I still don't want that life for my daughter.
Lorenzo: Well -- why don't we figure out a compromise?
Skye: I'm listening.
Lorenzo: I'll figure out a way to prove that my business isn't a threat, if you agree not to run away again. And you allow me to visit you and Lila here -- for now.
Skye: Well, I think I can live with that. And so can you, my beautiful angel. Hmm? Hmm.
Robin: Luke, are you sure? You haven't seen Laura for days.
Luke: Has there been a change?
Patrick: None whatsoever.
Luke: Well, then why wait? I mean, if she can get back even part of her life, then the risk would be worth it.
Robin: Ok, but you have to understand the potential side effects.
Luke: Look, Dr. Robin, I've been through all of the potential side effects with Legrasse in Paris.
Patrick: You need to hear it again. LS49 could easily make Laura worse than better.
Luke: Yes, I know. All right, ok, let's -- let's go through it all again.
Patrick: Luke, right now Laura cannot communicate. She's completely unresponsive to audio and visual stimuli.
Luke: That much I know.
Patrick: Ok, but she has a life now. It's not much of one, but she can sit up, she can rock back in a chair, she can eat food, drink water. If she has a bad reaction to LS49, she will lose all of that.
Robin: Yes, and she could end up in a true vegetative state, complete with a feeding tube and a ventilator.
Luke: I know that, too. But what are her chances of recovery without LS49?
Luke: And you agree with that?
Robin: I'd like to say "never say never," but yes. There is virtually no hope for Laura without LS49.
Tracy: Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah! Don't even think of sneaking off.
Robert: You know, you ought to keep your voice down. Sleeping babies react badly to that kind of thing.
Tracy: Well, Lila Mae or Rae -- whatever Skye named her -- is just going to have to deal. My husband, on the other hand, is an entirely different story. Where is he?
Robert: Come on. You know how he loves babies and warm, fuzzy family moments.
Tracy: He just started paying attention to his daughter, and now he's vanished. So why don't you just tell me, what is he up to?
Luke: Lulu needs her mother. I know she always did. But right now, she really needs you, Laura. We have such an amazing daughter. She's beautiful and smart and courageous. She's got what Ruby used to call "brass." That's a combination of savvy and wit and a willingness to take chances. I'd like to think she got that from me, but right now she needs something else, something I can't give her. No one can but you. Laura, she needs to hear you say that it was ok that she had the abortion. I'm afraid if she never hears it from you, she's not going to be able to move on. She's going to be stuck with that decision for a long time. I don't know what Lucky needs. To finish rehab, I guess. And he needs to stop blaming me and whoever else for all his screw-ups. I don't know what happened to him, angel. I -- I just don't know. He's so far off track. Maybe if you -- maybe if -- "if." If, if, if, if, if. If pigs could fly, if politicians didn't lie, if wishes came true. There's about a thousand-to-one shot that my wish is going to come true. Pretty bad odds. Almost as bad as the odds that a rough kid who grew up in a whore house could meet a beautiful girl from a nice family and hurt her. Worse than he ever hurt anybody, and have her love him anyway. I've beaten the odds over and over again because of you, angel. That's why Lucky and Lulu exist. I know that you would want to take this risk for them, and for the memory of a girl who always leaped before she looked, who led with her heart. I know that that girl would do anything, risk anything to help her kids. Damn the odds. Oh, baby. Oh, baby. Let's do it.
[Knock on door]
Nikolas: How's it going?
Lucky: Well, this would be the time where I'm popping a couple of pills to take the edge off.
Nikolas: Why? What happened?
Lucky: Maxie. She showed up pushing commitment -- around the same time Elizabeth showed up. It was just pretty ugly.
Nikolas: I can't say I'm surprised, given how Maxie did everything she could to undermine your marriage, including supply you with drugs.
Lucky: Well, if she hadn't gotten them, I would've found a way to get them. It was my addiction, it's my responsibility, and so is everything I did while using.
Nikolas: I'm glad to hear you say that, Lucky. But that doesn't change the fact that Maxie’s pregnant. It's going to take Elizabeth a little bit of time to adjust.
Lucky: I'm just afraid what Elizabeth is doing is pushing me to be with Maxie. But that's not what I want. I love Elizabeth. The only family I ever want to have is with her.
Elizabeth: I tried to tell you over the phone but I -- I couldn’t. I needed to tell you face to face.
Jason: I already know. Carly told me that Lucky is the father of your baby.
Carly: Alexis? Hey, are you ignoring me? Are you -- are you too sick to answer the door?
Carly: Wow, you look like hell.
Alexis: Oh --
Carly: Where's Sam? Are you alone again?
Alexis: I don't know where she is, and the -- the girls are in the back with Viola. They just got back from Disney World. What are you doing? Are you familiar with the concept of personal space?
Carly: You're burning up. Come on, I need to get you to the hospital.
Alexis: Absolutely not.
Carly: Let's go.
Elizabeth: Carly sure didn't waste any time
Jason: She was trying to help in her own way.
Elizabeth: I doubt that. She can't stand me.
Jason: She's wrong about that. But she is right about some things. I mean, it is better for everyone that the baby is -- is Lucky’s. You're not going to have to deal with my business or worry about danger to you and your kids, and you know what? Maybe Lucky will turn around his life and be a good father.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Yeah, and -- um -- well, if the baby had turned out to be yours, then it would've ruined Lucky's recovery, and now at least he has a chance.
Jason: I'd still like to help.
Elizabeth: That's ok. I'm -- I'm still going to go through with this divorce and I'm going to support these kids, and depending on you wouldn't be fair to anyone.
Jason: But you know I'm around if you -- if you need me?
Elizabeth: Yeah, I know, and I appreciate it. And I want us to still be friends.
Jason: Yeah, always. I'm happy for you. It's good this, you know, turned out the way you want.
Elizabeth: Did it turn out the way you want?
Sam: Jason, I need you to talk me -- down.
Lucky: Elizabeth and I always planned to have children. I -- I can't lose her now.
Nikolas: All you can do, Lucky, is stay in recovery and continue to be the man she married.
[Knock on door]
Lulu: Just when I thought the Quartermaine house couldn't get any more uncomfortable, Skye showed up with her new baby, and I couldn't stand to be there for one more second.
Lucky: So is dad back in town?
Lulu: Yeah. He was at the house for, like, two seconds, and then he went to go see mom. I don't even know why he was in such a hurry.
Nikolas: Did -- did he ask Robin and Patrick to examine Laura today?
Lulu: I don't know. Why would he?
Nikolas: Well, because I -- I saw them outside of her room earlier today.
Lucky: What if dad went through with it?
Nikolas: Went through with what?
Lucky: Robin told dad about this experimental cure for mom a while ago.
Robin: Are you sure you don't want to speak to Laura’s mother or children first?
Luke: No. I'm not going to start passing out false hope to Laura’s mom or the kids. I won't ask them to share the blame if something goes wrong.
Patrick: They still have a right to know what's going on, Luke.
Luke: Why? So they can blame themselves if she ends up on a ventilator with a feeding tube? Look, I don't want to do this. I -- I don't want to take the risk. But I know that Laura would. She would insist. That much I know. Give her the medicine. Hold on tight, angel. Hold on tight, angel. Here we go.
>> Tomorrow Genie Francis returns as Laura Spencer on "General Hospital."
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Sonny: I will come down on you.
Ric: You sure you really want me as an enemy
Sam: Did you get the paternity test back?
Jason: The baby's Lucky’s.
Robin: It should happen soon.
Luke: Find your way back.
Lulu: She is our mother.
Nikolas: You're giving her a drug that might make her worse?
