Proofread By Brian
Sonny: Ric has me and my family under surveillance.
Bernie: Are you sure?
Bernie: Stan debugs the offices and the homes at least twice a month.
Sonny: Well, he's got to be -- you know, he's got to be missing some because Ric had a white van sitting across the street from Carly’s house.
Bernie: Boy. I'll have Stan look into it, but anyway, surveillance isn't the main problem.
Sonny: I know, I know. Ric's getting out of control.
Ric: I don't want anybody else to find out that Elizabeth could be pregnant with Morgan’s baby, all right? I want you to shut down the surveillance on Morgan’s penthouse.
Det. Rodriguez: But we're just starting to get some useful information on Corinthos and Morgan.
Ric: I said shut it down, ok, Cruz? I don't want any record that Elizabeth is involved with that thug.
Elizabeth: Lucky, I asked you not to call me.
Lucky: I -- I know. I don't mean to bother you. I just had to speak with you.
Elizabeth: Are you ok?
Lucky: Well, that's my question. I just -- I just want to know how you're feeling. How -- how's our baby doing?
[Knock on door]
Carly: Ok. No lectures, no warnings. I just want you to be happy for me, ok?
Jason: Well, I can't be happy for you until I know what you're talking about.
Carly: Sonny didn't tell you?
Jason: I don't think I want to know.
Carly: Jax and I are getting married.
Lulu: Why don't you take your business somewhere else?
Maxie: Why are you talking? Can I have a coffee, please? Oh -- decaf.
Georgie: Nice outfit, Maxie. What's the occasion?
Maxie: Oh, I'm on my way over to the Quartermaines' -- they're going to cut me a check. They're compensating me for getting pregnant while using an Enduro condom.
Georgie: You're letting the Quartermaines pay you off?
Maxie: Why not. It's E.L.Q.'s fault.
Georgie: And you're happy about it.
Maxie: Look, Lucky and I are starting a family, and that money could really help us set up an apartment, pay our bills at least for the next few years.
Lulu: Uh -- Lucky loves Elizabeth. He's not going to be moving in with you any time soon.
Maxie: We'll see. Is that milk?
Sonny: We never found out who was behind the theft of my psychiatric records.
Sonny: Maybe it was Ric.
Bernie: It wouldn't surprise me.
Sonny: I don't know. Ok, listen to me. I know Stan already checked on it, but have him go to Lainey’s office, break in.
Sonny: See what else he can find, and --
Lainey: Morning, Sonny.
Sonny: Morning, Dr. Winters. How you doing?
Sonny: You remember Bernie, my lawyer.
Bernie: How are you?
Sonny: We were just discussing my stolen files and, you know, I suggested to him that maybe Stan can if -- it's up to you. Stan can go to your office and see what else he can find.
Lainey: That's a little unorthodox.
Sonny: Well, he's completely trustworthy.
Lainey: Hmm -- all right, but you have to give me your word that he's not going to look through other patients' files.
Sonny: I will, I will. Thank you very much. Bernie, go ahead. You can go ahead.
Bernie: Dr. Winters.
Lainey: Have a seat and we'll get started with the session.
Sonny: All right.
Lainey: How have you been feeling?
Sonny: Oh, you know, I've been doing a lot of business this week and --
Lainey: Has it been stressful?
Sonny: I'm handling it.
Lainey: How about your personal life?
Sonny: Well, uh -- it's fine, it's fine.
Lainey: And the situation with you and Carly?
Sonny: Well, Carly’s marrying Jax.
Carly: I can't believe Sonny didn't rush right over here and tell you that Jax and I are getting married.
Jason: Carly, he's got a lot of things on his mind.
Carly: He always has time to interfere in my life.
Jason: How'd he find out? Did you just tell him?
Carly: No, I didn't tell him. He found out from Morgan before I had a chance to tell.
Jason: From Mor-- Morgan? How does Morgan know?
Carly: Because Jax needed to make sure that my engagement ring fit, so he made Morgan go get one of my other rings so he could measure it.
Jason: Oh, that's good -- using a 4-year-old. That's nice.
Carly: He's not using a 4-year-old. He swore Morgan to secrecy and they were whispering and giggling, and I bribed, pleaded, and did everything I could to get it out of Morgan, but he wouldn't tell me, and then Jax asked me to meet him at the Elm Street Pier.
Jason: Yeah, I remember.
Carly: Well, after you left, Jax took me for a walk and we came back to the pier. He had it set up like a tiny little romantic restaurant and we had dinner and he popped the question.
Jason: And you said yes, just like that?
Carly: No, not just like that. We discussed it and then I said yes. Hey. I want you to be my best person. I want you standing there right next to me when Jax and I exchange vows.
Jason: I don't know about that.
Carly: What do you mean you don't know?
Jason: Well, this wouldn't exactly be the first time that you rushed into something without thinking about it.
Carly: This is not sudden! Jax and I have known each other for a long time and we were in business together twice.
Jason: Yeah, and the first time was a complete disaster.
Carly: Ok, yes, I hated Jax. That's what makes it so amazing, Jason -- because we've worked through that and we've come out the other side. Come on. You have been there with me through every important moment in my life. I want you right there with me for this. I love Jax and I really need you to be happy for me, so will you please, please, please, please be my best person, please?
Jason: Whew. Ok.
Carly: Yes! Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok!
Carly: Now, we have to make you happy.
Jason: I'm fine.
Carly: No, you're not, but you know what? We're going to fix that. I'm going to get you back together with Sam even if you turn out to be the father of Elizabeth’s baby.
Elizabeth: The baby and I are doing fine. My morning sickness is pretty much just in the morning now, thank God.
Lucky: Well, I'm happy for you. Hey, how'd the sonogram go?
Elizabeth: I heard his little heartbeat and Dr. Lee says that everything looks good.
Lucky: God, that's -- that's great news. Hey, you know what? Um -- I got to go. I got a session in five minutes.
Elizabeth: Hey, um -- I'm really glad you're getting better.
Lucky: I'm doing it for you and our baby. I'll talk to you soon? I love you.
Sam: Lucky on the phone?
Sam: Ahem. Look, Elizabeth, I -- I want to apologize. Come on, I know I came down really hard on you yesterday.
Elizabeth: Well, you think I seduced Jason clearly --
Sam: No, you didn't, you didn't clearly -- I get that now. You didn't get pregnant on purpose.
Elizabeth: Well, for what it's worth, I probably would've had the same reaction.
Sam: That's decent of you to say, but you are in a really difficult situation right now and I shouldn't have taken my pain out on you.
Elizabeth: Well, thank you for your apology. Hopefully, the baby will turn out to be Lucky’s.
Sam: Yeah. I mean that -- I hope so, too. Elizabeth, I mean, don't you think that Lucky has a right to know the truth either way?
Ric: Elizabeth and I were married once. She's a good woman and she's in an impossible situation. Lucky is a drug addict. I'm sure that Morgan took advantage of her vulnerability and her pain, and now she could be pregnant by some gangster.
Det. Rodriguez: No offense, but that sounds personal. Our job is to obtain evidence.
Ric: Well, then you obtain it, Cruz. But you do it without involving Elizabeth. I want Morgan tried and convicted as soon as possible. That way, Elizabeth will be safe and so will her baby.
Edward: Oh, Mac. So good of you to -- to come by.
Monica: Yes. How are you, Mac?
Mac: Is there a reason you're suddenly feeling sociable?
Alan: The truth is we need your help.
Edward: Uh, we're having a -- a bit of a problem.
Mac: Oh, right -- your liability problems. They're all over the news.
Edward: Well, our problem concerns you directly.
Mac: And why is that?
Edward: It involves Maxie.
Mac: What about her?
Monica: I think you should hear it from Maxie in her own words.
Mac: What's going on?
Maxie: The Quartermaines make Enduro condoms and there was a bad batch. It's what Lucky and I used. And now I'm pregnant.
Lulu: If Maxie cares so much about Lucky, why can't she just leave him alone?
Georgie: She loves him.
Lulu: And that makes it ok for her to keep doing these awful things?
Georgie: No, Lulu, it doesn’t.
Lulu: I mean, Maxie supplied drugs to my brother and then she threw herself at him during his most vulnerable time. Now she's pregnant and she's trying to use that to trap him into some long-term commitment.
Georgie: It's not like Maxie tried to get pregnant, Lulu --
Lulu: Seriously -- no, Georgie, I know that she's your sister, but really, how can you defend her? Lucky is trying to get better and Maxie is totally screwing that up.
Georgie: Lulu, wait a minute. Maxie is wrong and I'm not denying that, but you did a lot of messed-up things, too. We've been over and over this and I don't want to rehash it again. Listen, when you're in love with someone, you know as well as anybody that it can give you tunnel vision.
Pete: Miss Jones?
Pete: I just finished reading your essay on Steinbeck’s "Grapes of Wrath." Very insightful. You gave a lot of thought to the characters.
Georgie: Thanks. It was an amazing book.
Lulu: Wait -- oh, whoa. What about -- what about my essay?
Pete: I've read and graded all the papers. You'll be getting them back in class tomorrow.
Lulu: Ok. Um -- why don't you give me a preview? What did you think?
Pete: Ok. Um -- I found trite and derivative.
Lulu: Why am I even taking this class? You're completely biased against me.
Pete: Well, when you decide to work harder and put in some real effort, I'm sure I'll be impressed.
Lulu: You're penalizing me because I dare stand up to you and call you out on the ego trip that you try and pass off as teaching.
Lainey: You've told me repeatedly that Jax wasn't good for Carly, and now you want me to believe that you're comfortable with them getting married?
Sonny: Well, it's Carly’s life, not mine. I -- I wish them well.
Lainey: What brought about this whole new level of tolerance and acceptance?
Sonny: Well, I thought that Jax would use Carly and leave her and, you know, she's been through a lot of disappointments in her life. And now, you know, I see that she's on her own two feet, she's stronger. I just didn't want Jax to pull the rug out from under her.
Lainey: And now you're convinced that he won't?
Sonny: Well, he's -- he's marrying her. Huh. So, you know, that -- obviously he loves her and he's in it for the long haul and I -- I wish them well.
Lainey: That's a healthy attitude. It's also a blatant lie.
Sonny: Well, what do you want me to say? I mean, the kids -- they know about the engagement, and I -- they're building some kind of relationship with -- with Jax, so --
Lainey: And what about you and Carly?
Sonny: Well, we're -- we're divorced. I'm moving on; she's moving on. If I get in between her and Jax, then it's just going to confuse the children. I'm going to do what I can to stay out of it.
Lainey: Even if you believe her decision is wrong?
Sonny: It's her mistake to make.
Jason: Why do you want to get married again, anyway? I thought you were liking this whole independent thing.
Carly: I am. But I love Jax and I want to share my life with him.
Jason: It's your decision.
Carly: Why don't you stop changing the subject? Why don't we talk about you and Sam? Because she has to be going through hell right now.
Jason: Yeah, I -- I came home and found Sam in what would've been the baby's room.
Carly: Did you guys talk about that?
Jason: Yeah, she -- she came straight out and asked how I could refuse to give her a child and give Elizabeth one? You know that -- that's not what happened, right?
Carly: Sam's thinking with her heart right now, not with her head, Jason. But Elizabeth gets to have what Sam’s always wanted and that's your child.
Jason: I just -- I don't know what to say. I don't know how to reassure Sam. I --
Carly: Sam's biggest fear has to be that Elizabeth is going to capitalize on this pregnancy and want to move right in, and that Sam’s going to lose you forever. Can you look at me and tell me that that couldn't possibly happen?
Ric: How did you get in?
Sonny: I just walked in.
Ric: Well, was my assistant bribed, threatened, or you just sneak in like a thief?
Sonny: No, actually, I just walked in like your brother. No one seemed to stop me, so -- no one seems to care about your safety or security. I don't think very many people like you around here, or maybe they just miss Alexis.
Ric: No, you -- what do you want?
Sonny: You don't like seeing me here?
Sonny: Well, imagine how I felt when I -- when I looked out of Carly’s window last night and saw a surveillance van.
Ric: It's been -- I pulled them off. Don't worry.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. Well, two things I didn't like about that, and one is the fact that you did it and second, that you're not smart enough to know when to quit.
Ric: Well, I -- I must say you've thrown a lot of insults my way, but you've never doubted my intelligence.
Sonny: No, you're very intelligent and, you know, you're well-educated, but smart -- that's another thing. A smart man wouldn't put himself in the position that you're in -- with so much to lose. How fast do you think Alexis is going to file for divorce when she finds out that you slept with Sam?
Ric: Ok. I got the threat last night. I don't need for you to repeat it.
Sonny: You'd lose your family. She'd go for full custody of Molly. And you'd probably see your daughter, what, twice a year?
Ric: Ok, hold -- hold on here. Don't -- don't even threaten to take my child away from me.
Sonny: You don't want to involve your family, don't involve mine. Michael, Morgan, Carly are off-limits. Don't want you listening to their conversations, I don't want you sending men to -- to follow them, and I don't want you to harass them.
Ric: Ok, you know what? You're full of orders. Why don't you leave?
Sonny: You know what? I'm tired of doing this myself. Laying down the rules for your behavior. At a certain point, you know what? You're more trouble than it's worth.
Ric: You know, I should be angry with you for threatening me, but I got other things that I got to be concerned with here other than our twisted brotherly bond.
Sonny: You think I don't? You know what, Ric? Maybe you should just resign, call it a conflict of interest, take a sabbatical so you can support your wife, who has cancer.
Ric: I'm filling in for Alexis because she wanted me to.
Sonny: Oh, come on, Ric --
Ric: All I care about is her well-being.
Sonny: Ric, you don't believe that husband garbage any more than I do. You know, sometimes I wonder whether you want her to get better at all.
Pete: The grade stands. You can appeal it if you want to waste your time, but the department will back me.
Lulu: You won't give me anything higher than a B.
Pete: You've never earned anything higher than a B.
Lulu: You're saying that all those spoiled rich kids are better writers than me?
Pete: No, but they're trying to the limit of their ability. They're putting their insights and feelings -- however unworthy you might find them to be -- into their work. You have a nice turn of phrase and the gift for mimicry. But I've yet to see you invest any part of yourself in your writing.
Lulu: You are so full of it. If you want to know about me, just ask. But don't penalize my grades.
Pete: See, obviously, you think that it's my job to make you pay attention. You just get to sit back passively and see if I can come up with a poem or a novel or some principle of writing that might merit your interest. You're spoiled, Lulu. You want everything to come easy. You could be brilliant. But your mind's going soft because you don't use it for anything else than jumping defensive and making excuses.
Lulu: You are so wrong.
Pete: I know you had an abortion, ok? And you think that that sets you apart from everyone else. Well, maybe it does, but not the way you use it.
Lulu: I don't use it for anything.
Pete: You cling to it because it justifies your mediocrity.
Lulu: Don't call me mediocre! You didn't write the great American novel, Pete. You're just stuck teaching an English Lit. class to freshmen.
Pete: Well, yeah, but unlike you, some of those people actually want to learn. You would rather wallow in self pity.
Lulu: I don't feel sorry for myself.
Pete: You're trapped in the past, Lulu.
Singer: I know.
Pete: You want to know how I know?
Lulu: Tell me.
Pete: I got drunk and I went driving when I was 17. I rear-ended a tractor trailer and killed a girl that was riding next to me. Nothing that I do in my life will ever make up for that. But wasting my life? That won't make up for it, either. So ask yourself --
Singer: What are you?
Pete: Are you wasting your life to make up for what you did?
Mac: How long have you known you were pregnant?
Maxie: About a week or so.
Mac: Why didn't you come to me sooner? You know, we could've talked about this, discussed your options.
Maxie: I was going to tell you when Lucky got out of rehab.
Mac: Why would you wait, Maxie?
Maxie: I know you're upset.
Mac: I'm worried about you. This isn't exactly the path you expected your life to take, you know. Right now you're going to need a lot of love and support.
Maxie: Which I'm going to get from Lucky as soon as we're together, and I'm going to use the money the Quartermaines owe me for the defective condoms to start a life for myself and Lucky.
Mac: No, no, that is not going to happen. Lucky took advantage of you, sweetheart. He's an addict. He played on your love and good intentions.
Maxie: No, no, Lucky needs me. I'm the only one who understands him.
Mac: He's married to another woman. He doesn't want to be with you.
Maxie: You don't know that. You just assume that.
Mac: Whatever you and Lucky had is over. And I will strongly oppose it if he ever tries to be with you again.
Ric: Hey, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: If you're here to see Alexis, I don't think she has chemo today.
Ric: No, no, I actually came here to see you. I -- I've been worried about you -- you know, dealing with your pregnancy while your husband's in rehab.
[Knock on door]
Lucky: You're the last person I expected to see.
Sam: I -- God, I'm sorry -- to hear that you're in rehab. I mean, I'm not -- I'm not sorry that you're here. I'm just -- I'm sorry you had -- I'm glad you're here. I'm glad --
Lucky: Jason told you, didn't he?
Lucky: It's true -- I tried to frame Jason for drug possession. I was desperate.
Sam: Lucky, you weren't thinking clearly.
Lucky: I used that excuse for months. I had all sorts of reasons for not breaking my drug addiction. I was in denial. I -- would blame other people, my job, Elizabeth, Maxie, the pressures of family and career and --
Sam: You had a lot of pressures.
Lucky: So did everybody. I mean, it's part of life. Bottom line is I have to take responsibility for my own action. And I want to get better for Elizabeth and our baby, but ultimately it has to come from inside me. You know, I'm going to be not just a man, but the husband, a father that I always wanted to be.
Carly: What are you going to do if you're the baby's father? Have you figured out a plan? Because as much as Elizabeth says she wants to raise her kids alone, she really wants to be with you.
Jason: And how -- how do you know that? Elizabeth loves Lucky. If he can make it through recovery, they might have a chance at --
Carly: Jason, get real. If you turn out to be the baby's father, Lucky is out of the picture and Elizabeth is going to show up at your door ready to set up house. What are you going to do then?
Jason: I told her my life is dangerous.
Carly: Ok, you're going to leave the business?
Jason: You know I can't leave. You want out; you pay a price. I made commitments I can't go back on. So if Elizabeth and her kids were to come with me, I'd be exposing them all to a life of danger, and Elizabeth doesn't want that.
Carly: You could always push her away just like you did to Sam.
Jason: I've learned my lesson.
Carly: So, Jason, you're going to let Elizabeth decide whether she wants a life with you or t?
Jason: I've learned my lesson -- the risk would be hers to take.
Carly: Do you hear what you're saying? You'd be Elizabeth’s for the asking, and Sam’s just out.
Jason: Carly, I hate how much this is hurting Sam. I hate it.
Carly: Ok, but you're doing it anyway!
Jason: But the baby didn't ask to be conceived. Shouldn't my first obligation be to my child?
Carly: Ask yourself this question -- can you spend the rest of your life without Sam?
Sonny: Carly is marrying Jax. I need you to stop this.
Maxie: Lucky will want to be a good father.
Mac: Then you need to start thinking about being a good mother.
Maxie: That's exactly what I'm doing, dad.
Mac: Then don't count on Lucky. He has issues of his own, Maxie, and a wife and a child he's trying to get well for. As for you, your life is about to go through a major change. You have far more important things to consider than Lucky right now. You can keep your money. Maxie won't be suing anyone.
Maxie: Dad --
Edward: Well, we certainly appreciate that, Mac.
Mac: Thank you for bringing me in on this. I should've been paying closer attention to what's been going on with my daughter.
Maxie: This is not your fault.
Mac: When you become a parent, your child's mistakes become your own. Come on, let's go home. Excuse us.
Edward: Well, that went well.
Alan: It's a temporary measure. Sooner or later, the Enduro scandal is going to break wide open.
Alice: Thank God I'm on the pill.
Dillon: Did -- did anyone witness what just happened? Mac and Maxie are devastated.
Edward: Dillon, my boy, this is hardly a tragedy. The birth of a child is a glorious thing.
Dillon: What? I can't -- I can't believe I'm hearing this right now.
Edward: The main thing is that they aren't going to sue.
Dillon: Oh, ok. Will -- will somebody please disagree with him for me? Anybody? Mom? Mom, look at him -- he's gloating like he won.
Monica: Alan is right. Maxie is just the tip of the iceberg. When this breaks, there are going to be thousands of lawsuits.
Edward: But, you see, we can delay it in court until public attention focuses elsewhere.
Dillon: Grandfather, I did my part to cover for E.L.Q. when I lied to reporters, but what's happening to Mac and Maxie is unforgivable. And if that's going to happen to thousands of other families, then I need to rethink my --
Edward: Listen, young man. If you're going to stay in E.L.Q., you better toughen up. The important thing is the bottom line.
Dillon: That bottom line is what got Lulu pregnant in the first place. That's why she had an abortion, and that's why I'm going to have to live with it for the rest of my life.
Lucky: Well, the worst part of withdrawal is over. The fog is lifting and I'm actually starting to feel better again.
Sam: You look great. I mean, you've obviously been working out, you know?
Lucky: You know, I used to wake up every morning thinking about pills. If I didn't have any, I'd think of every way I could to score some. You know, it's been so long. I forgot how it was to feel good. Now I just wake up wanting to go for a run, you know, breathe in fresh air, eat some breakfast, and --
Sam: Does Elizabeth know how good you're doing?
Lucky: Yeah, I called her. She actually -- she took my call, which is a good sign.
Sam: "A good sign"? What -- you want me to talk to Nikolas? I'm sure Nikolas could persuade her to call you or come here.
Lucky: Yeah, well, I'd love to see Elizabeth. But you know what? Elizabeth needs to avoid stress and focus on her pregnancy.
Sam: I don't -- I don't think it would be stressful, would it?
Lucky: You know what? Elizabeth wants to stay away and I understand why. Now all I need to do is just make sure our child is born safely.
Sam: I think it's beautiful how committed you are -- to your baby.
Carly: Michael told me that you told him that he had to accept my engagement to Jax. And I thought, "Wow, Sonny is just being so mature about this." And here I catch you red-handed, trying to go behind my back and sabotage my marriage before it even starts, Sonny.
Sonny: Fine. You want me to admit it? Yeah, I prefer that Jason, you know, stop you from marrying Jax.
Carly: We're not getting back together and you know that. So why do you care?
Sonny: Because, because I -- the reason I care is if you guys get married, it's going to bring unnecessary pain to the boys, to you, to the family.
Carly: Not if Jax and I are happy, and we are.
Sonny: Well, you're happy now, but it's not going to last. Jax is --
Sonny: Listen. Jax has a very bad track record with matrimony and he loses interest real fast.
Carly: You're just saying that because you don't like Jax.
Sonny: Look at what happened to Courtney. You think that can't happen to you?
Carly: Courtney was my best friend. But she was the one who cheated on Jax, and that's not going to happen with me.
Sonny: Yeah. Well, you're not going to cheat, but you don't love Jax enough for him to stick around.
Carly: Yes, I do love Jax.
Sonny: Ok. If you marry again, that means you're going to have to put your husband first, and Jason knows and I know that Jax is second in your eyes.
Carly: To who? You?
Lulu: Do you think that drunk-driving story that Pete said was true, or do you think he made it up?
Georgie: I don't see why he'd have a reason to lie.
Lulu: I don't know -- it was just so personal.
Georgie: Maybe he shared it because he thinks you have potential and he just wants to see you succeed.
Maxie: Georgie, you have to come home for dinner.
Maxie: Because Mac found out about my pregnancy and he's flipping out.
Georgie: Maxie, wait.
Georgie: This is good -- at least you told him.
Maxie: No, the Quartermaines ambushed me. They called dad before I even got there. So I walked in expecting to get my money, and -- and I had to tell him right in front of everyone.
Georgie: What did he say?
Maxie: He was upset, but then really nice, which made it even worse. I mean, he blamed himself for not spending enough time with me. Look, now that I've lived down to his lowest expectations, you have to be there to make him feel better.
Dillon: Maxie? I'm sorry. I'm very sorry. What my family did to you and Mac -- that was unfair.
Maxie: Easy for you to say. But your plan worked because my dad's not letting me sue your family anymore, so congratulations.
Lulu: You know, Maxie, if you think this is such a disaster, why don't you just do something about it?
Maxie: Oh, Lulu, like what?
Lulu: Why don't you terminate the pregnancy before you hurt anyone else?
Elizabeth: Sorry. I took longer than I thought with that patient.
Ric: It's ok. So you're not pushing yourself too hard?
Elizabeth: I'm fine. My pregnancy's going really well.
Ric: Yeah, but you got a lot of stress on your table right now -- you know, with Lucky being in rehab and you having to take care of Cameron and all of the overtime that you've been putting in. I just don't think any undo stress is really good for the baby.
Elizabeth: Why are you suddenly so worried about me?
Ric: Well, you did have two previous miscarriages, and one of them was our baby. It was a terrible loss for you.
Elizabeth: For you, too.
Ric: Yeah, I -- I know what we went through, Elizabeth. You know, all of our hopes and our expectations, the promise of what could have been. I just don't want you to go through that again.
Elizabeth: I'm sure I won’t.
Ric: Yeah, but you got a lot of responsibilities on your shoulders right now. You know, Lucky's really not available. So maybe -- you know, you think maybe you could allow your ex-husband to support you in some way?
Elizabeth: Well, I have my grandmother and Emily, Nikolas -- they've been really great.
Ric: Ok. I'm glad. Just -- well, you just let me know if there's anything I can do to help you in any way.
Elizabeth: Ok. I will. Thanks.
Jason: You're going to have to continue this argument somewhere else.
Sonny: Ok. But you know I'm right, and you don't want to admit it.
Jason: Well, you know what? Just let her make the choice.
Carly: Thank you, Jason.
Sonny: Oh, fine. But, you know, there's not a law in giving your opinion, is there?
Jason: Well, my opinion doesn't even matter. Just let her marry Jax.
Sonny: All right.
[Door opens and closes]
Carly: You know, he's right.
Jason: Why -- why do I even bother?
Carly: I'm not talking about me; I'm talking about you. You can't be with one woman when you're in love with another woman.
Jason: Wait, I -- I just told him he should let you choose. Well, how about showing me the same respect?
Carly: You say I never listen to you. If you listened to me more, your life wouldn't be such a mess.
Jason: It's my mess. I'm going to deal with it how I think is right.
Carly: It's not fair to anyone if you make a commitment with Elizabeth, for the baby's sake, when you're still in love with Sam.
Lulu: Maxie, why can't you get it through your head that nothing you do will make Lucky want you?
Maxie: You don't speak for your brother.
Lulu: Well, all Lucky speaks about is Elizabeth and the baby that he's having with her. He did not expect to get you pregnant.
Maxie: No, he didn't, but Lucky is not the type of man that walks away from his responsibilities.
Lulu: Which is why it's probably eating him up inside that you're continuing on with this pregnancy. Maxie, it could turn him back to going to drugs.
Maxie: Lucky loves children. He's going to want us to be a family.
Lulu: All right. Unless you got pregnant on purpose and you're trying to trap Lucky --
Maxie: Which I didn’t.
Lulu: Right. Then there's really no reason that you should want this pregnancy.
Maxie: Wow. How did I guess that you would say that?
Lulu: Maxie, your dad's upset, and you didn't get the payoff that you expected with the Quartermaines. This baby is an accident. It can be terminated safely and legally.
Maxie: I love Lucky, and I love this baby that is growing inside me. But even if I didn't, I'm not like you. I could never have an abortion.
Carly: I am here to tell you that your mind games aren't going to fly with me.
Sonny: You came all the way over here to tell me that?
Carly: No, I came over here to tell you to give it up, because you're never going to convince me that I don't love Jax enough to be his wife.
Sonny: I really got to you, didn't I?
Carly: God, you are so juvenile! Do you know that?
Sonny: Listen to me. A man wants to know that he comes first in a woman's life, right? He wants to know that she can confide in him, come to him for anything, keep secrets, understand each other -- the whole thing.
Carly: Jax do all those things to me.
Sonny: Ok, Jason’s the one that you turn to, right, when you want help and you want to be rescued.
Sonny: Yeah, your best friend, your hero? If you were stuck in the middle of an Amazon jungle, Jason would be the one that you would expect to rescue you.
Carly: Because he would.
Sonny: Point exactly. You count on Jason; you always will. Jax won't be able to take that.
Carly: Jax has no reason to be jealous of Jason, and Jax knows that, Sonny.
Sonny: What about you and me?
Carly: Well, here we go. Isn't that what we're all talking about?
Sonny: Well, you -- hey, you know, we -- we understand each other. I understand everything about you. I -- I keep your secrets. You may have fun with Jax, you may enjoy each other's company, but he -- you know, he doesn't have anything real underneath.
Carly: No, you're wrong, because what Jax and I have is very real.
Sonny: For Jax, but not for you, and soon he's going to realize that and he's going to give up.
Carly: No, he won’t. Jax and I are committed to each other. We have a strong foundation and it's only getting stronger. So when I walk down the aisle with Jax, I will walk down the aisle with the certainty that he comes first in my heart.
Det. Rodriguez: Can I speak to you privately?
Elizabeth: Yeah. Is this about Lucky?
Det. Rodriguez: In a way. Look, I'm breaking all kinds of rules here, but you're the wife of a fellow officer and Lucky's my friend, and I wouldn't feel right if things got messed up for the two of you and I hadn't told you the truth.
Elizabeth: The truth about what?
[Det. Rodriguez sighs]
Det. Rodriguez: Last night we had a monitor on Jason Morgan’s penthouse. We monitored a conversation you had with him. D.A. Lansing knows that Jason Morgan could be the father of your child.
Lucky: What are you doing here?
Ric: I'm here about Elizabeth.
Sam: Hey. Well, I was surprised to hear from you -- after what happened last night.
Jason: I mean this whole thing is a -- is a shock. You have a right to be upset about it.
Sam: Have you decided anything about the baby yet?
Jason: I -- I honestly still don't know. Whatever happens, I wanted you to know that you matter to me. And I know that we agreed to try to find our way back. And I want to -- I want to try, Sam. And I'm asking you to try with me.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Patrick: Greetings from Paris.
Robin: You're home!
Carly: Alexis hates me. I don't want that woman anywhere near my wedding.
Jason: I want you in my life, even if I turn out to be the father of Elizabeth’s baby.
Elizabeth: What if Ric tells Lucky?
Lucky: Is Elizabeth ok? She's pregnant.
Ric: That's why I'm here.
