Lucky: After I was hurt, I wanted to get back to work as soon as I could. You were working overtime to support me and Cam. I wanted to take care of you, provide for my family. But I wound up lying to you -- and myself. I got in a situation where I started to see what I wanted to see and blocked out the truth.
Elizabeth: Is this about what happened on the roof the night Manny died?
Jason: I know you're angry at me. If you feel like you need to hurt me back, I --
Sam: Don't give me permission to hate you, damn it! Do something to stop me!
Emily: What's wrong? Did John spit up on me or something?
Nikolas: No, I was thinking how beautiful you look holding him.
Emily: Oh, well --
Nikolas: Almost as if you're a mother yourself.
Emily: It's the hormones.
Nikolas: I'm sorry, I don't follow.
Emily: Well, when women hold babies this beautiful, they can't help but feel maternal. Don't you think?
Nikolas: Oh, no, I think it's more than that. You're gentle, nurturing -- a natural caregiver, I think.
Colleen: Looks like I got here just in time. Did you miss me, little one? Hi.
Carly: You know what you just said about this bond that we have and how it's always there?
Sonny: I know it. You know it.
Carly: Can you promise me something?
Carly: Can you never say a thing like that again, ever?
Dillon: So, how was the promotion party for Lucky?
Lulu: Ahem. Well, he's -- um -- not as comfortable in the spotlight as my dad, but he does have the same no-show gene.
Dillon: What is that -- he didn't show up to his own party?
Lulu: That's a Spencer for you -- we're cool in a crisis and we talk a great game 'til we really win, and then we lose it in the follow-through.
Dillon: I'm sorry, is that a warning?
Lulu: Neon red lights.
Dillon: Okay. I -- maybe Luke, maybe Carly, maybe even Lucky from time to time, but, Lulu, not you.
Lulu: Dillon, no --
Dillon: Not you.
Lulu: You don't even know me, Dillon.
Dillon: I don't know you? Okay. You laugh out loud at comic strips. Your favorite flavor ice cream is vanilla caramel. You twist your hair when you're anxious. You hum to yourself when you're alone -- or at least when you think you're alone -- but not on a bad day. I could go on.
Lulu: How do you --
Dillon: Because I pay attention.
Lulu: Dillon, no. You forgot the part about me being selfish.
Dillon: Oh, the part about you -- are -- okay, all right, fine. You're impulsive and you're totally defensive and you never do anything halfway, but you're not selfish. Otherwise -- otherwise, you wouldn't have lied to me by trying to convince me that Georgie and Diego didn't have sex.
Elizabeth: I know you haven't told me everything that happened the night Manny died.
Lucky: You're right. I'm no hero. I was shaky as hell when I walked up on that roof, and I saw Jason and Manny struggling. It was a lucky shot -- no pun intended.
Elizabeth: Maybe not so lucky if the shot killed Manny.
Lucky: No, I could've easily hit Jason. I don't deserve that medal or promotion. I don't even feel like I deserve you sometimes.
Elizabeth: Don't say that. That's not true.
Lucky: I feel like a fraud, like I've been lying to you and everyone else.
Det. Rodriguez: Hey. I apologize for the interruption, but we've got a situation. Mayor Floyd's been all over the department about a conviction in the Escobar shootings. Mac figured putting you on the case would calm Floyd down.
Lucky: What, me?
Det. Rodriguez: Floyd wants proof that Jason Morgan killed Juan Escobar.
Sam: I thought I was worth fighting for. I am so sorry. I do not know why I bothered.
Jason: I just don't want you to do something --
Sam: Why should I care what you want, Jason? You sold out, you took my mother's deal! Whether you want to admit it or not, you know you did! Alexis knows Lucky didn't kill Manny; you did. She probably has proof.
Jason: I don't care what Alexis thinks or does.
Sam: But you care what I think? Brace yourself -- brace yourself for what I do.
Alexis: Well, you're going to have to give her my apologies, because she's fired.
Ric: Something wrong?
Alexis: Yeah. One of my clerks gave Mayor Floyd copies of one of my case files without permission, which is a violation of procedure. You know, that just opens up the door for one more confrontation with that idiot. Why is it that I can't find just one person to carry around a few files? That's -- that's all I need.
Alexis: Honey, what's the matter?
Ric: I'd just rather not get into it.
Alexis: Does this have something to do with Sonny?
Ric: Hello? No, Sam's not here. Yeah. Okay, I'll tell her. Sam didn't get that job that she applied for at the hospital.
Alexis: I'll be right back. I got to do something. I'll be right back.
Carly: I know where this is leading, okay?
Sonny: You do?
Carly: Ah, you show up here and you're nice to me and you talk about this bond that we have, and we both know what happens next.
Carly: Oh, don't stand there and act clueless. Don't, because we laugh, we reminisce, we go to bed and we wind up back together, and that's not going to happen, okay? It's not going to happen because our reunions end up making one of us crazy, and it's not fair to do that to the boys, it's not.
Sonny: Did I say anything about getting back together?
Carly: It was implied.
Sonny: How's Jax?
Carly: Jax hasn't written and he hasn't called -- and that was not an invitation.
Sonny: Why do you always do this?
Sonny: Well, I make a simple remark or act a little bit nice, and you kind of jump to conclusions and take it to the furthest extreme, you know?
Carly: Why are you being nice to me?
Sonny: I told you -- because I want to thank you.
Carly: Oh. You're welcome. Are we done?
Sonny: Huh. I guess. I don't know.
Carly: Okay, goodbye. It was good to see you.
Sonny: You, too. You know, Nikolas' son would've been lucky to have you in his life.
Carly: Okay, you're being nice again, so -- out. You have to go.
Sonny: Just one last thing, and -- don't ever think about having a breakdown again, because you won't. You are as strong as they come. Don't ever forget that.
Nikolas: Emily, this is John's nanny, Colleen.
Emily: Oh, hi. It's good to meet you.
Colleen: The pleasure's all mine. I'll feed John, then put him down for his nap.
Nikolas: Thank you.
Colleen: Oh, and I wrapped that gift that you bought for your sister, and don't forget you're expected at that hospital board dinner at 8:00. You ready for your bottle, John? I think so.
Emily: Does she rotate your tires, as well?
[Emily and Nikolas laugh]
Nikolas: That's -- Colleen likes to make herself indispensable. More importantly, she's really good with John, and he loves her.
Emily: Well, I'm glad that -- that you and your son are well taken care of.
Nikolas: Thank you. So, what -- what is it you wanted to talk to me about?
Emily: Oh -- um -- I -- I told you at -- at Kelly's that Sonny started therapy at -- at my insistence, and it's brought up some stuff about -- about my own sessions -- um -- after the rape.
Nikolas: Yeah, I know that was a painful time for you.
Emily: I learned so much about myself and why I was reacting to things the way I did, and I should've shared it with you sooner.
Nikolas: Yeah. It's all right.
Emily: No, Nikolas, it's not. I kept things from you because I didn't want to hurt you. Through no fault of your own, you looked like my rapist. You didn't deserve my fear. I mean, you were -- you were kind and -- and patient and -- and loving, and you did everything you could to make sure that I was safe. And instead of -- of opening up to you and -- and telling you about it, I pushed you away, and I never realized how unfair it was.
Lulu: This is just a rebound thing. Georgie hurt you, you're obviously not remotely over her, so you're building up the next girl you're with to convince yourself that you're better off.
Dillon: Lulu, I see you for you, and it has nothing to do with Georgie or anybody else.
Lulu: That is what you think, but you don't understand--
Dillon: You are a wonderful person, Lulu!
Lulu: No, I am a willful brat who is screaming for attention and trying to get it any way I know how, and if you -- what was that for?
Dillon: Shutting you up.
Lulu: Dillon, I -- I am extremely flawed.
Dillon: So -- I'm extremely flawed. So am I; so is everyone. Who cares about the flaws? You're -- you're beautiful and you're smart and you're fun, and you're the best thing that's happened to me in a long time.
Lulu: That's my line.
Dillon: Do you want to do something tonight? Do you want to, like, go to the pier, maybe, and ride some rides and make up little movies in our head about all the weird people that we run into?
Lulu: Yeah, yeah, that -- that sounds good.
Dillon: Okay, so let's go.
Lulu: Um -- actually, can I meet you at Kelly's in 30 minutes? There's just something I want to do before we go.
Lulu: Hi. Um -- I listened to you, and I'm in a huge mess, and you have to help me out.
Sonny: I just came from Dr. Winters. A lot of stuff got stirred up. I just -- I want to focus on something familiar.
Sonny: What's going on with the Escobars?
Jason: Escobars -- like I told you before, we took over everything --
Sonny: All right.
Jason: All their holdings, and actually, right now, Bernie is going through the numbers. It's just going to take a little while for everything to get reorganized.
Sonny: Any loose ends on the takeover?
Jason: No. No evidence to connect me to either of the shootings. Obviously, the cops are still -- they're investigating it right now. I'm actually cleaning up the Escobar acquisitions just to make sure we didn't inherit any problems.
Sonny: You didn't have time to plan the Escobar shootings, you -- you're doing two jobs. You took over the organization. Maybe I should do more.
Jason: Hey, Sonny, I've got it covered, okay? You just need to take the time and do what you need to do with Dr. Winters.
Sonny: You going to fix this?
Jason: Not for a while.
Sonny: Emily is very, very positive about this therapy thing.
Jason: How'd it go?
Sonny: Well, you know, I just -- I sat there, right, answering whatever questions she was giving me. It was very difficult. I was trying to be honest. I don't think I can do this. I'm -- I'm going to have to stop.
Jason: Well, if you stop, what's going to keep you from breaking down again?
Emily: Sonny's struggling with therapy because it's making him face things about himself and his past that -- that he doesn't want to look at. And, you know, I want to help him, but there's just so much that he isn't telling me. It's exactly what I did to you.
Nikolas: Emily, the -- the whole point was for you to focus on your own recovery, not take care of me.
Emily: You were my husband, Nikolas. I should've found a way to let you in. You know, instead I -- I pushed and I pushed until you were gone.
Emily: I'm so sorry. I know what that feels like now.
Nikolas: I'm sorry I couldn't find a way to help you.
Colleen: Sorry. Uh -- didn't realize you were still here. I just put John down for his nap and I wanted to get him his little dog.
Emily: No, no, it's all right. Um -- I was just leaving.
Nikolas: No, there's -- there's no rush.
Emily: No, no, no, I have, you know, things to do. Um -- thank you so much for listening. Okay, bye.
Maxie: I just wanted to apologize and give you these.
Lucky: You scored those for me?
Maxie: It's the least I could do after I threw the last ones I got you off the dock.
Lucky: I told you I'm quitting.
Maxie: Lucky, it's fine if you don't want them. I just -- I felt bad, and I'm really sorry you missed your party.
Lucky: It's not your fault. I should've been there.
Maxie: Well, you weren't feeling good. I guess it's where the occasional pill comes in handy, takes the edge off the pain, keeps you on your feet and helps you work.
Lucky: Dr. Drake said they were addictive, and I don't want to need them.
Maxie: You're on a roll right now, especially at work, and I don't want to be the person that stops that forward momentum, so I'm going to leave them here. No strings. Just -- just take them or don't. Your choice.
Carly: Yes, well, there's tons of clothes and toys, and the clothes even have tags still on them. All right? All right, well, I'll put it all by the drop-off. You're welcome. No problem.
Lulu: I totally and completely screwed it up. What do I do now?
Carly: Do about what?
Lulu: Um -- Dillon asked me out again. He said I'm the best thing that's ever happened to him in a long time, and I totally melted because that's exactly what I wanted to hear, but it's based on a lie, which I told him. I tried to tell him the truth, but he didn't believe me.
Carly: Wow. Now I know how Jason feels.
Lulu: What does Jason have to do with this?
Carly: Nothing, nothing. Okay, wait, just start from the top.
Lulu: Okay, I did exactly what you told me, and everything --
Carly: Wait a minute, I never told you to do anything, Lulu.
Lulu: I acted on the advice that you gave me and told Dillon the truth. I said that I didn't see Diego and Georgie sleeping together and I only made it up so that he would break up with Georgie and be with me instead.
Carly: And Dillon didn't believe you.
Lulu: Did you know that was going to happen?
Carly: No. But it makes sense. Sit down. Look, Dillon can't accept that you lied because that means he was unfair to Georgie. He has to think you were being honest, which means you are golden.
Lulu: Well, you're right, he -- Dillon totally thought I was making it up so that, you know, I could spare his feelings and he could get back together with Georgie, but now he likes me even more.
Carly: Why can't I meet guys like that?
Lulu: Hello, this is about me!
Carly: What are you worried about? I mean, really, he thinks you were taking the blame, and he thinks that you're wonderful and noble.
Lulu: But he's wrong.
Carly: "Wrong" is in the eye of the beholder. You got your man. You just have to figure out a way to keep him.
Ric: Hey. Ms. Sneed called from the hospital.
Sam: Oh. Let me guess -- I didn't get the job I applied for.
Ric: No, afraid not.
Sam: Well, Ms. Sneed was a judgmental witch, and I kind of blew up at her, so --
Sam: I'm sorry about that, but I will find another job, I promise. Where's Alexis?
Ric: Oh, she had an errand to run. I'm sure it was work-related. She'll probably tell us when she gets back.
Sam: Hey. Ric thought you were at work.
Alexis: I -- well, I was working, in a way of speaking. I'm trying to improve the efficiency of the PCPD, so I took the opportunity to buy you a few new outfits --
Ric: What are you doing?
Alexis: For your new job.
Sam: What job?
Alexis: I want you to come work for me.
Sonny: Seems like a lifetime since I lived across the hall. You remember? You were right here when I had that other breakdown.
Sonny: Everybody's telling me that I'm Bipolar.
Jason: Lainey can treat you for that, right?
Sonny: No. She says there's no guarantee, so why would I put myself through that?
Jason: Well, you can't keep going the way you've been going. Something has to be done.
Sonny: So, what, I go see a shrink, cut myself open? I mean, it was torture telling her the things that happened. All we really got to was, you know, Carly. So what -- what am I supposed to do, just sit there every week, picking through the wreckage of my life? I'm -- I'm a little better now. I'm just thinking that this therapy thing is going to flip me over to the other side.
Jason: I don't blame you for not wanting --
Jason: But I --
Emily: Hey -- uh-uh. I'm not going to let you undermine Sonny's recovery.
Sonny: Okay, Emily, that's not what Jason's doing.
Emily: He has a medical condition. What if he had cancer? Would you stop him from getting treatment for that?
Sonny: Stop -- don't. Please, Emily.
Sonny: Now that I have your attention -- can I have a minute with Emily alone?
Jason: Yeah, sure.
Sonny: I know that you're worried about me, and you're coming from a place of love, but I have done some terrible things in my life that you don't even know about. Jason does; he was there.
Emily: You're backsliding. You're going to a place that's comfortable. Sonny, you have yourself convinced that you tried to hurt the people that you care about, but that's not true. You do things that you can't control, and you need help.
Sonny: Jason helped me.
Emily: How? By taking away your business, forcing you into this latest breakdown?
Sonny: He didn't -- he didn't push me. I've had breakdowns before. This is just a pattern--
Emily: Yeah, exactly! It is a pattern. Has Jason ever tried to get you help?
Sonny: He doesn't believe in help himself. Why would he think I need help?
Emily: So he just stood by and watched you suffer instead? Sonny, that's not friendship right there. It's called "enabling," and it's the worst thing that Jason could've ever done for you.
Sonny: I am sorry, Emily, that what happened with me made you doubt your own brother.
Emily: I just don't want Jason giving you excuses to back out of therapy.
Sonny: He's -- he's not. I'm just saying that we have a history together, me and Jason, that you and I don't.
Emily: I witnessed your breakdown. I saw the pain that you suffered, Sonny, and I'm going to fight anyone that I have to, including Jason, to make sure that that never happens to you again.
Lulu: What I did was wrong. Georgie and Dillon were in love, and they are broken up, and Dillon is with me only because I was sneaky and horrible and selfish.
Carly: But he is with you.
Lulu: It is not real. He's only rebounding from Georgie because I lied!
Carly: Are you finished?
Lulu: Dillon doesn't love me --
Carly: Okay, fine, wait. He doesn't love you -- great. Let's put this into perspective. Only answer yes or no, okay?
Carly: Do you like Dillon?
Carly: Do you think you're better for Dillon than Georgie?
Carly: Have either Dillon or Georgie got together to try and work this out?
Carly: So is it possible you've given them the excuse they needed to call it quits?
Carly: I'm going to let that slide. Stop doing this. Dillon is with you!
Lulu: But he doesn't love me.
Carly: Okay, maybe you're not giving him a chance to figure out if he loves you or not!
Lulu: Oh -- this is --
Carly: No, you have told Dillon the truth, okay? He can never accuse you of hiding anything from him. He is the one who didn't want to hear it.
Lulu: I don't know, this still feels weird and wrong.
Carly: Hey, look, stop. You're here. You're right where you want to be. Would you just enjoy it?
Lulu: If my mom knew about this, she would --
Carly: She would want you to be happy. Come on. Stop looking for ways to make yourself miserable. Life's short, pain's inevitable. I think if you could look back and there's more happy than sad, you've done okay.
Lulu: I don't care what anybody says about you. You rock.
Alexis: It was perfect timing. Really. I had to fire somebody at work today, and I just found out that you didn't get hired.
Sam: Thank you, thank you, but the only experience I have with law enforcement was as a suspect or a perpetrator. So I don't know --
Alexis: Listen, it doesn't matter. I know that you want something to do, something more than sitting around swimming or missing Jason. It's not your dream job, I know that. It's just something to tide you over for a little bit.
Sam: Sounds like charity.
Alexis: It's nepotism, actually. See, the truth is, is I really need someone to help me, and you're smart, you're good, you're eager, you can pick up things quickly, and I know that you're interested in the law. So you can get a firsthand look at what the judicial system really is.
Alexis: You don't have to work a lot. The hours are good --
Sam: No, no, no, I don't want any special treatment, okay?
Alexis: You quit whenever you want, and I won't treat you any differently than I do anyone else, I promise.
Sam: Okay. Okay, yeah, I --
Sam: I guess.
Alexis: Yes! Good! Good.
Sam: Wow. Um -- but why -- why the clothes?
Alexis: I just thought maybe you could use a few more professional-type suits, that sort of thing.
Sam: You don't like the way that I dress?
Alexis: No -- yes -- I mean, I do. I think you look great all the time. Everything you wear just suits you perfectly. It's just you may need something a little more appropriate for a judicial workplace. If you dress more seriously, people will take you more seriously.
Ric: And if there's one thing Alexis takes seriously, it's the law.
Jason: The cops are nosing around the Escobar murder again. Clean up the books as fast as you can, okay? Thanks, Bernie.
Lucky: Well, this will save me a house call. I've been assigned to the Juan Escobar murder. I need to ask you some questions.
Jason: Don't know anything about it.
Lucky: I know your official answer's on file --
Jason: That's my only answer.
Lucky: Well, let's just look at your options. You turn yourself in or you cooperate, you can probably mount some kind of self-defense or cop some kind of plea.
Jason: You know I can't talk without my attorney.
Lucky: I know you saved Elizabeth from Manny. But I saved you from Manny on the roof, which makes us even, and I don't owe you anything. This isn't about anger or revenge, it's about working on opposite sides of the law. It's my job.
Elizabeth: I can stop Lucky.
Jason: I don't -- no, I don't want you interfering with Lucky.
Elizabeth: Jason, I'm going to tell him the truth -- that he wasn't the one who killed Manny. You are.
Sam: What do you think?
Alexis: I -- what do I think? Let me see. I think you look great.
Sam: I don't know.
Alexis: I do.
Sam: I don't know. It's just so not me.
Alexis: No, it is. It's just you're just not used to it, that's all. It's -- it's very professional. It's very understated -- yet attractive.
Alexis: Hello? Oh. Yes? Uh-huh? I'll be right there. Will you stay available? I may need a lawyer after I kill the mayor. Great.
Sam: Okay, what do you think?
Ric: I think it's going to be great that you and Alexis are going to be working --
Sam: No, no, no, I mean the outfit. I -- I can't imagine myself wearing one of these every day. It's very stuffy.
Ric: She's just trying to help, that's all.
Sam: You should've seen the look on her face.
Ric: I know, I know.
Sam: She was trying to tell me -- it was like "No daughter of mine is going to dress like a bimbo."
Ric: I -- I think it's going to be good that you and Alexis are going to be working together, get to become close, build a relationship without having somebody tear it down.
Jason: You weren't on the roof when Manny was killed. You don't even know what happened. You weren't there.
Elizabeth: But I do know what you said to me when you collapsed in my arms in front of the hospital. You said that it was over and we were safe and that you pushed Manny off the roof.
Jason: But Lucky just accepted a promotion and a medal for shooting Manny.
Elizabeth: And I don't think he was lying. I -- I believe that you and Manny were probably struggling at the edge of the roof, and -- and Lucky saw an opportunity to take a shot, he fired, and Manny went over the edge.
Jason: You just said it yourself -- he fired his gun.
Elizabeth: And missed. Or maybe -- maybe he did hit him, but the shot did not send Manny over the edge.
Jason: Like I said before, I was bleeding a lot, I was out of it --
Elizabeth: And you still found a way to do what you had to do.
Jason: Even if it's true, what difference does it make? Lucky got a raise, a promotion, his self-respect -- it's been good for both of you. Let's just let it go.
Elizabeth: I can't. Not if Lucky is coming after you.
Jason: Elizabeth, I'm going to be all right.
Elizabeth: God, Jason, you have done so much for me -- you have helped me with my bills, you've taken care of Manny --
Jason: No, you -- you helped save Sam in the operating room, you told me where Manny was holding her in the hospital. I think I'm in your debt. But if you want, we can -- you know, we can just call it even. Don't interfere with Lucky. Just let him do his job.
Elizabeth: What if he does it so well he puts you away for murder?
Jason: I'm going to be okay.
Elizabeth: You always say that. You're always thinking of everyone else. When are you going to start taking care of yourself?
Sonny: I know that you believe in therapy, and I want to believe in it, too, kind of.
Emily: Okay. Then stick with it.
Sonny: So are you saying that therapy is the magic bullet for everything that ails me?
Emily: No, it's not magic. It's painful, hard work.
Sonny: Is there any way that I can send Max instead? No --
Emily: Sorry, I don't think that's going to be possible. Listen, I know how tough it's going to be for you. You've had terrible experiences, and it's only -- it's only natural for you to question going back to those places.
Sonny: That's what I was telling Jason. I mean, what if -- what if I start reliving the past and then I have another breakdown?
Emily: You won't, Sonny. Lainey knows how to bring you back out of that. You need to dig as deep as you can so that you won't slip away again.
Dillon: Hey. Did you take care of whatever?
Lulu: All done.
Dillon: So you're good to go to the pier?
Lulu: As long as you go in the fun house with me.
Dillon: Uh -- no, no. No, I don't --
Dillon: No, I don't do fun houses.
Dillon: No, because they're -- they're creepy and weird and dark --
Lulu: No, come --
Dillon: And they remind me of a bad Fellini film, so I --
Lulu: No, no, I like all the goofy mirrors -- please, please?
Dillon: Lulu, please --
Lulu: Please? For me?
Dillon: You're the only person I would do this for.
Dillon: I swear.
Lucky: I'm sorry I got dragged off in the middle of our conversation.
Elizabeth: Yeah. There is something I wanted to tell you.
Lucky: What? What is it?
Elizabeth: Being at the ceremony, watching you receive your medal and your promotion, it was really wonderful.
Lucky: I meant what I said. I couldn't have done it without you, and I know things have been tough lately and --
Elizabeth: That's okay. It's done and over with. It's in the past.
Lucky: Well, I really -- I'm sorry that I missed your party.
Elizabeth: You're just going to have to make it up to me.
Lucky: With pleasure.
Elizabeth: And you're going to start by taking that to the car.
Lucky: I'll take care of it.
Ric: I watched my brother crumble. I stayed at his house. I went there every day to make sure that he was okay, to help him through it.
Sam: Must've been hard to watch.
Ric: Yeah. I knew that Sonny had hit rock bottom, you know? And I was going to be there to help him when he came out on the other side.
Sam: Let me guess -- Jason and Carly stepped in.
Ric: Oh, yeah, they did. They basically told me that my help was something that they didn't really need.
Sam: Well, what did Sonny have to say about that?
Ric: Well, I think he -- he wanted me to stay. But then, of course, his -- his self-appointed guardians descended upon him and they -- he was too scared to fight back. Look, he asked me to leave. He was polite about it. He told me how he trusted me and how much he appreciated what I had done. Then Jason and Carly -- they pretty much shoved me out the door, and I haven't been able to gain the ground that I lost ever since.
Sam: Do you think Sonny regrets it?
Ric: Well, if he does, Jason has him too intimidated to admit it.
Sam: Well, come on, Sonny is not easily intimidated.
Ric: No, Jason undermines Sonny every chance he gets, okay? He wants Sonny to believe that he needs only Jason. Look, if you're honest with yourself, you know how the whole thing works. Jason wanted you convinced that you lived your life for him --
Sam: No, no, no --
Ric: That he's dependent upon -- you're dependent upon him --
Sam: Jason doesn't really want me anymore, though.
Ric: I'm sorry. I'm sure that hurts you very deeply. But at least you're -- you're doing something about it. You're taking the first step toward getting a life of your own.
Sam: Why do you care what I do? And don't -- please, don't tell me it's because of Alexis.
Ric: The thought never crossed my mind.
Sonny: I'm sorry Emily gave you a hard time.
Jason: Well, you know, if she needs to be mad at somebody, it might as well be me.
Sonny: Yeah, she's blaming you for everything that happened, and she knows better. If I have this thing, then, hey, you know what? That's what set it off.
Jason: Well, it didn't help that I forced you out of the business.
Sonny: And now you're -- you're running it. And I'm, you know, doing this therapy that's supposed to fix everything. I'm scared. What if I work through this, take the meds, and become a different man? Do I want to be well if it means that I'm giving up who I am?
Emily: You need to speak to Jason.
Carly: I love talking to Jason. Do you have a specific topic in mind?
Emily: Sonny's treatment. I heard Jason tell Sonny that he doesn't blame him for not wanting to go to therapy, and I -- I spoke to Sonny afterwards and I think I turned him around. But if Jason continues to sabotage Sonny's treatment --
Carly: Jason wants Sonny well, Emily. I know that.
Emily: Jason has no use for psychiatrists. He's reinforcing Sonny's reluctance, and if Sonny stops going to see Lainey, you know what's --
Carly: It'll be because Sonny is fighting it himself. Emily, way down deep, Sonny hates any signs of weakness that he sees in himself, and all the Laineys and the meds in the world are not going to change that. Sonny equates therapy with being powerless.
Emily: But if it makes him well --
Carly: You have got to accept this. Sonny needs to look in your eyes and see your undying belief in him. That's what's going to get him through this, ok?
Emily: That's really what you want?
Carly: Yes, it is. You know what? You and Sonny have fought so hard to be together, you should stay together. Yep, I believe that.
Emily: Since when?
Carly: As long as you're with Sonny, I won't be tempted to go back to him.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Tracy: When did you start having sex with her?
Skye: Stop following me around.
Lorenzo: I'm not going to allow you to shut me out.
Robin: I'm done with him.
Patrick: I'm done with her.
Robin: There's nothing between us.
Noah: What if there could be?
