Lucky: This is wrong. I can't do this anymore.

Maxie: It's not wrong.

Lucky: No, I'm not going to hurt you the way I have been. I'm stopping this before anybody else gets hurt.

Sam: Kristina suggested I go in the water, and you know what? It felt great.

Ric: Yeah, my day's been a challenge, too, but I got your passport.

Sam: Oh. Thank you. Thank you. I should've had you go to the job interview for me, too.

Kristina: Daddy Ric --

Ric: Hey, baby.

Kristina: Do you want to go swimming, too?

Ric: Um --

Sam: You know what, sweetie? I think that's a great idea. Come on, Ric. Forget about your troubles and come join us.

Jason: I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have asked you to stay with Sonny during his breakdown.

Carly: No, it's okay. You know, and I was glad to help. And it was reassuring to know, deep down, the man that I loved is still there, that I wasn't crazy to fall in love with him in the first place. I'm just really tempted to go back to him.

Sonny: Do I still love Carly? You tell me. I married her three times, threw her out of her own home twice. Never touched her, never hit her, but I -- I shot her in the head accidentally. I got two other women pregnant. One I moved across the hall from Carly. Does that sound like love to you? Because when I describe it, I can't believe I did that to any woman, especially the mother of my children.

Sonny: This thing I'm supposed to have, this Bipolar Disorder, doesn't excuse the choices I've made.

Lainey: I agree, but we need to honestly examine how those choices were influenced by what may be a bipolar condition.

Sonny: I don't see what difference that is going to make.

Lainey: When you shot Carly, were you having a breakdown?

Sonny: No.

Lainey: Was anything else going on?

Sonny: Well, I was a little shaky because Lorenzo Alcazar -- he found out I had some issues and he was messing with my head. He wanted to steal my wife, take over my business. He even hired a woman to impersonate my first wife, Lily.

Lainey: The one who died in a car bomb in front of you?

Sonny: He wanted me to believe that Lily was haunting me and that I was seeing ghosts.

Lainey: That would be unsettling.

Sonny: If you're stupid enough to buy into it.

Lainey: Only you don't strike me as being stupid.

Sonny: I acted like an idiot. Before -- before I figured out what was going on, I had pushed it, you know, too far. I pushed Carly away. She was pregnant, she got stranded in a storm. She was going into labor. I went after her, and I got to where she was, got to the house, and I -- I heard her screaming. So I busted down the door, and I saw Alcazar standing over her, so I shot him without thinking. The bullet went through him and it hit Carly.

Lainey: Did you intend to hurt your wife?

Sonny: No. I was just trying to protect her and -- but when I saw her lying there with the blood, and I realized what I had done, all I could think about --

Lainey: All you could think about?

Sonny: Was that Carly was my whole life and I killed her.

Carly: Look, I -- I'm not saying that Sonny and I have a healthy relationship. It's basically a disaster. But it's an equal opportunity disaster because I'm just as bad for Sonny as he is for me.

Jason: Makes you feel better?

Carly: Yeah, it does. It does because it's a pattern. Look, Sonny wants me, but he can't accept me for who I am. I want him, but I have to lie to get him, and he always finds out about the lie and he breaks up with me. It's just a vicious cycle. But I learned at Rose Lawn that I can break the cycle, and my life doesn't have to revolve around Sonny.

Jason: And you've done a really good job at that.

Carly: I have.

Jason: Right.

Carly: And then Jax came along and -- look, I know you don't like him, but he cared about me, you know, and he made me feel important and he made me feel valuable, and we were really good for each other.

Jason: Is that why you lied for him?

Carly: I guess. You know, I -- I really believed Jax when he said that John was better off with him. And I really believed that he wanted to be with me because of me. And then when Sonny ordered that hit on you, I thought, man, this guy is past redemption, that any good I ever saw in him was just a lie. But there is good in him and I just saw it, and Jax is gone, and, Jason, you have got to stop me -- you have got to stop me from running right back to him.

Ric: Whoo!

Sam: I know. Didn't I tell you a swim would help? You look happier already.

Ric: Oh, you know, my family has a place at Marthaís Vineyard. Used to spend every summer in the water. I consider myself a pretty good swimmer, but I can't compete with you. What, are you like a mermaid or something?

Sam: No, no, no. Please, no. Try "salvage diver." Yes, you spend years --

Ric: Oh.

Sam: In the ocean diving after other people's junk, you get used to the water. However, I've been thinking that it could be -- I mean, it could be genetic. We've got the Cassadines, who have the island in Greece, right? Nikolas is at Wyndemere, and it's surrounded by water. Kristina obviously loves to swim.

Ric: Well, Kristina likes the idea of swimming. I mean, look at her with those floaties. She'd sink like a stone without those things.

[Sam laughs]

Ric: And Viola's got to watch her like a hawk. She's never had swim lessons.

Sam: Really?

Ric: Yeah.

Sam: Even living by the lake like this?

Ric: Yeah.

Sam: Even with Alexis, the overprotective mother? How'd that happen?

Ric: Well, last summer Alexis and I discussed the whole swim lesson thing, and, of course, she won and Kristina wound up going to art-and-music day camp instead, and she didn't have swim lessons, so -- look, we didn't live here at the time.

Sam: She needs swim lessons immediately, period.

Ric: Well, look, I agree. Hey, do you want some -- some lemonade? I was going to get some.

Sam: Yeah, I'd love some.

Ric: Yeah?

Sam: Thank you.

Alexis: Hi.

Sam: Hey.

Alexis: Did you go swimming?

Sam: Yeah, it was wonderful.

Alexis: Oh, good. I'm glad someone's using the lake for more than a view.

Ric: Okay, here you go.

Sam: Thank you.

Alexis: Hi.

Ric: How you doing?

Alexis: You went swimming, too?

Ric: Oh, yes, I did. Kristina loved the water. We could barely get her out of it.

[Sam laughs]

Kristina: We all went swimming.

Alexis: I -- so I see.

Kristina: Do you want to come swimming?

Jason: As long as we've been friends, I have never been able to stop you from doing anything.

Carly: Yes, you have.

Jason: Name one time.

Carly: Remember that time I went to run the first time I was married to Sonny? $20 bet?

Jason: 20 -- maybe I should've stayed out of it.

Carly: Maybe I needed to go through that to learn that I wanted to live life on my own and make my own choices.

Jason: And you know what? You've been doing good. You've been making pretty good choices.

Carly: I have, I know, but it would just be so much easier if I could just stay away from him. But I can't because of the kids and I can't because of you. I mean, we're connected, the three of us, whether we like it or not. But I cheated on you with Sonny. I had to make him count, you know? I lost you because of it. I know you think that I belong with Sonny.

Jason: Okay, hold on. If you stayed with Sonny because of me, if you went through any pain because you were doing what you thought I wanted, I'm sorry. Okay? I should've never even pressured you with Sonny. Either way, it's your life, and I can't and I won't tell you how to try to live it.

Carly: Okay, you know, this is ridiculous. I don't why I'm going on and on and on, you know? I mean, Sonny is with Emily, and, believe it or not, I have made peace with that. I have, and he is in therapy, and any therapist would tell that man to run, not walk, away from me.

Jason: Don't say that about yourself.

Carly: Sonny doesn't need me worrying about him. He doesnít. He's -- he's got his own life now, and so do I.

Lainey: Does Carly blame you for shooting her?

Sonny: She says it was an accident.

Lainey: Do you disagree?

Sonny: I fired a gun in the same room while my wife was having labor. I'm -- I'm responsible for that bullet.

Lainey: What happened after the shooting, when Carly was recovering?

Sonny: Alcazar was determined to take her away from me, and he did for a little while.

Lainey: Did you resent that?

Sonny: What do you think?

Lainey: The point is to explore what you think.

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: Carly and I had gotten to -- I mean, we've been through a lot, and I thought we were at a place where we could trust each other. And then she let Alcazar come between us. I'm not saying I'm blameless, but Alcazar was determined to destroy our marriage, and she let him.

Lainey: What about you? How did you respond?

Sonny: After I saw Carly kissing Alcazar, I turned to another woman, got her pregnant. Not the right thing to do. Sam -- she was lonely and vulnerable. I did not intend to hurt her, but I ended up doing that.

Lainey: We may be seeing a pattern here.

Sonny: Yeah?

Lainey: Yeah. You love Carly, but when problems arise, you turn away, seek solace with another woman.

Sonny: You're not saying this is the same thing that's going on between me and Emily, are you?

Lainey: Does she fit the pattern? I mean, is that why you mentioned her?

Sonny: I didn't get together with Emily to spite Carly. As a matter of fact, I -- I didn't want to fall in love with Emily. It just kind of happened. She wanted to be with me. She made me happy. Happier than I've been in a long time -- until the breakdown hit.

Lainey: Assuming the breakdown is a symptom of Bipolar Disorder, and assuming we can get the illness under control and you won't have to protect the woman you love from your mood swings, who do you envision your future with?

Sam: Mmm.

Alexis: Here you go, sweetie. Here's your lemonade.

Ric: Ah.

Kristina: Aren't you going swimming with us?

Alexis: My bathing suit from last year is worn out, so I have to get a new one.

Sam: Aw.

Ric: Hey, sweetheart, why don't we go show Mommy how you can dive off the dock into my arms, all right? We're not going to use these this time.

Alexis: Okay, I'll --

Ric: Come on, come on.

Alexis: Stay here and I'll watch, so you'll be really careful, right?

Ric: Yes, mom, we'll be careful.

Alexis: All right, okay. Ooh, careful. Thanks for taking Kristina swimming. She loves it, and I should've listened to Ric last year when he said that I should give her lessons.

Sam: I take it you don't like to swim?

Alexis: I can float -- sort of. Barely.

Sam: Well, there goes my theory -- the Cassadines loving water.

Alexis: Well, I may have loved water at one point, but it was no one's priority to teach me to swim growing up. My brother, however, Stavros -- he's my half-brother -- used to enjoy ducking me under the water and holding my head down --

Sam: Oh --

Alexis: Until I felt like I was going to drown. In fact, I think Helena put him up to it. Come to think of it, I do believe he was trying to kill me. So where I may have loved the water at one point, I now loathe it.

Sam: Hey, I can't blame you.

Alexis: I do like to look at it, though, as long as my head is above water, where there's air.

Sam: All right, I -- I won't argue.

Alexis: I'm glad Kristina and Molly have you to teach them how to be fearless in the water so they don't pick up on my anxiety. Nobody needs that.

[Phone rings]

Alexis: Wonder who this could be. Alexis Davis. Yeah. Okay, I'll be right there.

Sam: Is there a problem?

Alexis: Apparently, Mayor Floyd doesn't understand the concept that I can't just prosecute anyone -- even Jason Morgan -- without evidence. Funny how that works.

Sam: Um -- is he -- is he pressuring you to go after Jason?

Alexis: Sam, Jason is a career criminal. I'm always going to get pressured to go after him, but charging him with Juan Escobarís murder was just a ploy to save you from Manny. We really don't have the evidence against him.

Sam: Do you think he did it?

Alexis: Yes, I do. But I don't think that we'll ever be able to prove it, so you can relax.

Sam: It's okay, you know? I -- I understand. You've got to do your job. I won't interfere.

Jason: Hey.

Elizabeth: Hey. I noticed you had an appointment today.

Jason: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Dr. Drake is running a little late.

Jason: All right. I don't mind waiting.

Elizabeth: Lucky had his award ceremony today. He's officially been promoted to detective.

Jason: Well, I'm glad everything worked out. I know you've been wanting him to get his confidence back.

Elizabeth: Yeah. Yeah, I'm really proud of him. But through the ceremony, I couldn't stop thinking about that night when you collapsed outside the hospital, what you had said -- well, that Manny was dead and everyone was safe. But you never mentioned anything about Lucky or a gunshot.

Jason: I -- I was pretty out of it.

Elizabeth: Do you remember what happened on that roof? Did Lucky kill Manny, or did you?

Helena: Oh, my beautiful little darling, I'm so glad you're home. Yes. And I so enjoy our little visits, and I am counting on Nanny Colleen to ensure that there are many, many, many, many, many more of them. I assume that you're making progress with Nikolas?

Colleen: Nikolas is very suspicious of you.

Helena: Well, that's why I pay you good money, Colleen -- to persuade him to allow me to spend more time with my precious little heir.

Colleen: Well, I can only do so much. Nikolas is constantly reminding me of how lethal you are.

Helena: He exaggerates.

Colleen: If I defend you, he'll get suspicious.

Helena: Things are going well for you, my dear. Don't hurt yourself by disappointing me now.

Colleen: I've done every single thing that you've asked me to do, and I've made sure --

Carly: Who are you talking to?

Colleen: I didn't hear you come in.

Carly: Obviously. Who were you fighting with?

Colleen: I was talking to John.

Carly: Really? In that tone? Well, hey, sweetie. She didn't shake you or anything, did she?

Colleen: Of course not.

Carly: You know what? If a nanny talked like that to my kids, I would fire her on the spot. She's supposed to be nice to you -- like me. How are you? Did you miss me?

Colleen: Mr. Cassadine left instructions that you aren't to visit John.

Carly: I'm not here to visit John, okay?

Nikolas: Then why are you here? I've made it clear that you're not welcome.

Carly: I came across John's immunization records, and I thought that you might want them.

Nikolas: You could've mailed them, Carly.

Carly: Yeah, I could've, but then I wouldn't have been able to see John. And I need to see John, don't I? And you need to see your Aunt Carly. Look at you smiling. You're so beautiful.

Nikolas: I appreciate that you care about my son, but once again I reiterate it's best for John if you stay away.

Carly: It's best for John if you get a new nanny.

Nikolas: He's receiving the best possible care.

Carly: You know what? That's debatable.

Nikolas: And if you get the sudden urge to come over again against my wishes, please call first, will you?

Carly: Don't say I didn't warn you.

Emily: Hey. How'd it go?

Sonny: I never knew talking could be so rough.

Emily: That's a good sign.

Sonny: I'm beat.

Emily: It gets easier.

Sonny: Well, it better because I don't see the point. I mean, she didn't even get -- we didn't get into the breakdown. All she wanted to talk about is how I treated --

Emily: No, you -- look, you don't have to tell me what happened in the session. I want you to know that. But if you feel like it, I can listen.

Sonny: Lainey thinks that there's a pattern that I have that I never even thought about, that I -- you know, Carly and I break up --

Emily: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: And then I go to other women and I use them -- like Sam and Alexis.

Emily: Do you think that that happened with me?

Ric: Oh, I'm so glad you and Kristina talked me into taking a swim.

Sam: Yeah, that was fun.

Ric: Yeah, it was. You were right. Does make everything else disappear.

Sam: Yeah, it does. I mean, I haven't -- I haven't thought about Jason once today.

Ric: Oh.

Sam: I just, you know, wish Alexis could be here, that's all.

Ric: Well, get used to it.

Sam: She doesn't kick back much, does she?

Ric: Alexis? No. She has a lot of admirable traits. I mean, she's very focused, very independent, very intelligent, but -- those are traits to emulate, but as far as kicking back, not so much.

Sam: I think you worry too much. I mean, really. You just need to, like, relax, get some sun.

Ric: Yeah, my point exactly.

Sam: You know?

Sam: Hey, would you mind putting some sunscreen on my back?

Ric: Yeah, sure.

Sam: I can't quite reach it.

Ric: Whoops.

Sam: You know what? I'm going to go for a swim after all.

Jason: I didn't actually see Lucky until after Manny fell off the roof, but he fired his gun.

Elizabeth: Just tell me everything you remember.

Jason: Okay. I had my hands around Manny's neck. We were kind of up against the wall. I pushed and I shoved him over, and he fell.

Elizabeth: It doesn't really seem fair that Lucky's receiving all these accolades when you were the one --

Jason: Okay, look, Lucky's a cop. He was doing his job, he was risking his life. He deserves the promotion and everything that comes with it. All I care about -- Manny is dead and Sam is safe.

Elizabeth: Well, she's safe. Why don't you take her back?

Jason: I just -- I can't think about that now. I'm still running things for Sonny until he gets better, but after that, who knows?

Nurse: Dr. Drake's ready to see you.

Jason: Okay, thank you.

Elizabeth: All right, have a good appointment.

Jason: Yeah, thanks. I'll see you.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Maxie: So, how's Jason?

Elizabeth: He seems fine.

Maxie: You guys were talking for a while.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well, we are friends.

Maxie: Isnít that kind of a conflict of interest? I mean, seeing as how Jasonís, like, king of the gangsters, and your husband just got promoted to detective?

Lulu: You're late.

Lucky: I know.

Lulu: Yeah, well, you only missed it by a couple of hours. Everyone was here. There was a banner, lots of brownies. Elizabeth went all out.

Lucky: I knew she would.

Lulu: So where were you?

Lucky: Something important happened.

Lulu: Translation -- you got a better offer.

Lucky: Is Elizabeth around?

Lulu: No, she went back to work. And all the food is boxed up and she said she'd come back later to pick it up, and maybe you two can celebrate at home tonight -- if you can be bothered.

Lucky: Listen, I'm not sure I deserve that.

Lulu: No, because it's so Dad of you to not show up to your own party!

Lucky: Okay, I know.

Lulu: Well, that is so the opposite of you. Family is what -- is really important to you, and not just in the middle of an epidemic or in a train wreck. You come through for the little things like this.

Lucky: You know, when I was a kid, Dad used to show up to these parties. Mom -- she liked family celebrations. Dad used to make an appearance to make her happy. But as they started to fall apart --

Lulu: Okay, you know, I -- I wasn't there for all the happy family moments, but it must've been a hundred times harder for you to be a part of a family and then watch it disintegrate.

Lucky: You know, going through that taught me to value what I had, treasure my family, and I'm never going to take them for granted.

Lulu: That's what I love about you, Lucky, and I'm sure Elizabeth does, too, so don't change.

Lucky: I'm going to make this right. I promise.

Sonny: When I turned to Alexis -- and later to Sam -- it was because I was angry at Carly, I was proving a point. But with you, I wasn't proving anything to anyone. I had already let go of Carly.

Emily: Yeah. It was a difficult time for all of us.

Sonny: Right. I mean, I -- I gradually realized that you were part of my life and I needed you. It wasn't a reaction to Carly, it -- it was about us.

Emily: For me, too.

Sonny: But I was selfish to pursue the relationship.

Emily: Sonny, I went after you.

Sonny: Yeah, yeah, but I could've pushed you away, I could've tried to stop, I could've done --

Emily: You did, more than once.

Sonny: What?

Emily: Come with me. Just -- there are a lot of other people around. Remember when Carly kissed you right in front of me?

Sonny: Yeah, but that was Carly -- that's Carly. She was playing games and, you know, trying to complicate everybody's lives.

Emily: You covered a lot of ground in one session.

Sonny: I don't -- well, I don't know because I don't have anything to compare it to, you know?

Emily: Therapy can give you insight. It helps you realize, you know, choices that you never even considered.

Sonny: Is that what happened with you?

Emily: Um -- my only regret about my own therapy after the rape is that I wasn't honest about what I learned. See, I -- I covered, and I wound up hurting myself, and I don't want that to happen to you.

Helena: Carly? Well, she's cheap, but she's formidable. Never underestimate her determination or her power to seduce.

Colleen: What do you think she was really doing here?

Helena: She was probably trying to connect with Nikolas through our baby John. She's an accomplished gold digger.

Colleen: How will you stop her?

Helena: Oh, I wonít. You will.

Colleen: But how will I do that?

Helena: Oh, now, now, don't expect me to explain every little step.

Colleen: I need to understand my instructions.

Helena: Colleen, it's very simple. Now, portray Carly just as she is -- a heartless opportunist who doesn't care about Baby John one little bit, and make sure that Nikolas never considers her a romantic possibility.

Colleen: What about his ex-wife, Emily?

Nikolas: Colleen, where are you? You in here?

Colleen: Uh -- I'm in here, sir.

Nikolas: Oh. I put John down for his nap myself.

Colleen: I'm impressed. Especially since I think Carly upset him.

Nikolas: I don't know -- she was only here for a few minutes and he smiled at her.

Colleen: Carly's sweet to him on the surface, but I suspect there's a great deal of anger and frustration underneath. John may be picking up on it.

Nikolas: Well, that can't be good.

Colleen: I -- I don't mean to overstep, but I don't think it's a good idea for Carly to be around John.

Nikolas: Then she won't be.

Ric: Emily, is Dr. Winters around?

Emily: Do you have an appointment?

Ric: I was just wondering how Sonny's session went.

Emily: Well, you must know that Dr. Winters can't tell you anything about the session, Ric. But I saw him a few minutes ago and I think it went well.

Ric: You think he'll stick with it?

Emily: I hope so.

Ric: Yeah, but Sonny still sees this breakdowns as a terrible weakness. I mean, Jason has reinforced that idea for years.

Emily: Mm-hmm. Jason's been very supportive of Sonny getting help this time.

Ric: Yeah, as long as Sonny stays completely dependent --

Emily: Sonny's not dependent --

Ric: Jason has enabled him for years, Emily. He may be okay with the therapy now, but at the end of the day, it's going to be up to us to make sure that he sticks with it.

Emily: Sonny is never going to believe that Jason is hurting him or enabling him in any way.

Ric: I hope you're wrong.

Emily: You know, Ric, they settled their differences. Jason was a huge help to Sonny during his last breakdown. If anything, they're closer than ever before.

[Carly sighs]

[Knock on door]

Carly: Hey. The boys -- they're not back from camp yet, so --

Sonny: I came here to see you.

Sonny: Those aren't Morganís toys, right?

Carly: No, no, they were Johnís. Jax and I thought that he'd be spending a lot of time here, but -- anyway, I was going to give them to Nikolas, but he didn't seem very receptive when I saw him earlier, so --

Sonny: Well, you can't blame the guy for being resentful. You helped Jax hide his son.

Carly: Is that why you're here, give me some big lecture? Bring up everything with Kristina and Alexis, because, you know, it's not at all the same. You have no idea what was going on.

Sonny: No, no. I came here to apologize.

Elizabeth: Where have you been?

Lucky: I should've called.

Elizabeth: I should've realized you didn't want a party.

Lucky: It isn't your job to figure out what I want when half the time I don't know myself.

Elizabeth: Baby, what is going on?

Lucky: I didn't realize how bad things have gotten -- until tonight.

Elizabeth: Okay, whatever it is, we can handle it.

Nikolas: Come here. Ooh, gotcha. Now, look, the idea is to stay asleep when you take a nap, okay? You understand? I know it's been a difficult transition for you, and Carly may well have upset you, but you're all right now. So go to sleep.

Emily: You're getting to be an old hand at that.

Nikolas: Hi.

Emily: Hi.

Nikolas: I didn't expect to see you.

Emily: Yeah, I came by on impulse.

Nikolas: Well, look, can -- can it wait a minute while I get him his bottle?

Emily: Yeah -- words I never thought I'd hear.

[Emily laughs]

Nikolas: Mind holding him for a minute?

Emily: Oh, yeah, sure. Be glad to.

Nikolas: Here you go.

Emily: Don't mention it. Hello.

Nikolas: There you go.

Emily: You know, I knew your daddy when he didn't even know how to make toast.

[Emily chuckles]

Emily: But look at him now, huh? What's wrong? Did John spit up on me or something?

[Emily laughs]

Nikolas: No, no, I just was thinking how beautiful you look holding him, almost as if you're a mother yourself.

[Emily chuckles]

Ric: So, this is your concession to summer -- working in the great outdoors?

Alexis: Yes. Thankfully, Kristina is taking the longest nap on record. I think that water really wore her out. That was good.

Ric: She had a great time, but she also needs to learn how to swim.

Alexis: I agree.

Ric: I mean, Sam and I could teach her.

Alexis: Good. Good. I think that's great. I think you should. I don't want her to have my anxiety about the water. Honestly, I donít. I want her to be brave like you, like Sam.

Ric: You know, it's been really amazing that Sam moving in this time has been virtually hassle-free. I mean, you're completely comfortable with her, you hardly ever worry; you heartily approve of everything she does.

Alexis: Well, thank you.

Ric: Yeah. You're putting up an excellent front, Counselor.

Alexis: I'm doing the best that I can, honestly. We are polar opposites at -- at everything. Just about everything she does mystifies me. I mean, why dive off a boathouse, ever? It's dangerous; it's an unnecessary risk. I don't know why she waited so long to get her G.E.D. She's smart, she's bright. It's just sort of a straightforward routine. And I don't understand why she lives her whole life for Jason Morgan. She's literally lost without him; she's flailing -- like I would be if I dove off a boathouse. I just can't imagine being that dependent on any man.

Ric: That's a big surprise.

Alexis: That's not what -- oh, now, that's not what I meant.

[Phone rings]

Alexis: Hello? Alexis -- it's Mayor Floyd.

Ric: Oh.

Alexis: Have you ever considered the -- the concept of office hours maybe? You're kidding me, right? You called -- he called me to tell -- you're accusing me of being soft on female defendants? That is absolutely outrageous. It makes no sense at all.

Sam: Hey. I know I shouldn't be here. And I don't want to have the same fight about why we can't be together because there's no point. No matter what I say, it's not going to change your mind. It's just that --

Jason: Did something happen?

Sam: This place used to be the safest place in the world for me, Jason. And I used to promise myself that nothing would ever make me turn against you.

Jason: Okay, if there's a problem, Sam, I can --

Sam: The problem is you left me. And now I'm just -- I'm supposed to move on, and -- and I will, Jason. I will, but I cannot stop this pain inside. I am hurting, okay? I just -- I want you to hurt the way that I hurt.

Sonny: I started therapy today.

Carly: I heard.

Sonny: I have this thing called Bipolar. There is a medication for it, but I -- I don't like the idea. I don't want to be walking around like some numb zombie. But I'll do whatever I got to do, you know, so I don't have another breakdown and put my family through that.

Carly: I've been doing a lot of research about this on the Internet. A lot of people with Bipolar Disorder take medication, and they live full, successful lives.

Sonny: Are they career criminals with vicious tempers?

Carly: I didn't research that.

Sonny: You -- you know, even in my right mind, you know me better than anybody. I can be controlling and selfish.

Carly: Yes. You can also be incredibly generous and loyal. It's the contradiction that drives me crazy. Sorry -- bad choice of words.

Sonny: No problem.

Carly: You need to not hate yourself so much.

Sonny: I got a lot to hate myself for, including the way I treated you. You know, I spent the whole session talking about why we keep fighting, why we wreck each other, but the truth is we have a bond. You could have -- I mean, you should have given up on me a long time ago. But when I needed you, you stood by me.

Carly: You stood by me.

Sonny: What we have is not pretty; it's not romantic. Half the time, you can't even call it love. But it's always there, and I want to thank you for that.

>>On the next "General Hospital" --

Emily: When women hold babies this beautiful, they can't help but feel maternal.

Nikolas: I think it's more than that.

Carly: Promise me something.

Sonny: What?

Carly: Can you never say a thing like that again?

Jason: If you feel like you need to hurt me --

Sam: Don't give me permission to hate you! Do something to stop me!
