Sam: I realize I'm on shaky ground here, ok? I -- I lied. I said I saw someone at the lake house when I didn’t. I was trying to get your attention. I pretended to be scared. Jason, I am not lying right now. Somebody came through that window --
Jason: Sam, Sam, I believe you.
[Knock on door]
Carly: Don't answer it. Just don't answer it.
Jax: What if it's Nikolas, and he's got a problem with John or something?
Robin: I realize I should have called before coming over, but I thought it would be more difficult for you to slam the door in my face than to hang up on me. Can I please come in for a moment?
Robin: I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you're here. I need to talk to Jax alone.
Nikolas: Maybe I don't need a pediatrician. Looks like you calmed him down.
Emily: Babies cry. Don't you, little guy?
Nikolas: He certainly looks happy right now.
Emily: Yeah. Well, John knows me, sort of. At least, he's -- he's seen me before. I used to visit him pretty regularly when he was in the hospital. But this is the first chance I've gotten to hold him. Yes. Hey, buddy.
Nikolas: Yeah. Looks like you're a natural.
Emily: You know, it's funny -- if I had held John before, I would have instantly known he was yours.
Sonny: What the hell are you trying to pull, Ric?
Ric: Sonny -- Sonny, calm down.
Ric: Calm down.
Sonny: Don't tell me to calm down! You're trying to gaslight me. Trying to play the brother card. Making me believe that I'm losing my mind.
Ric: Sonny, all I said was I didn't know anything about any dress for Emily.
Sonny: You bought the dress --
Sonny: After you manipulated me into asking you to. You picked one that looked like Lily’s.
Sonny: You saw the picture --
Ric: Wait, hey, Sonny --
Ric: Sonny, I don't know what you're talking about.
Ric: Sonny, listen to me. Something's terribly wrong here. Let me help you.
Sam: All right, well, you know, it's not like I didn't give you a reason to. And you believe me now, so can you please tell me what's going on?
Jason: Sam, I don't know. It's more of the same. One of my enemies is targeting you to get to me. It's probably the same person who shot you.
Sam: Ok, well, I don't understand. Whoever it was was already in my room. Why not just wait here and attack me?
Jason: They probably think it's more fun this way. I'm taking you home.
Manny: Aw, man. You caught a bad deal. Talk about unlucky. You know, it was Jason who was supposed to meet Alcazar, not you. Oh, well. I guess you win a few; you lose a few, right? You know, as it turns out, I have use for you.
Ric: Go on, sit. Come on. Sonny -- I'm not one of the hired help, ok? And I'm not somebody who used to work for you. I am your brother. I'm not going to pretend that there's nothing wrong here, when something obviously is. And you don't need a yes-man right now; you need somebody who's going to tell you straight. So -- so here it goes. You have been reacting to things in the past couple of days that didn't happen.
Sonny: Are you telling me we did not have a conversation in this room about Lily? That she's been on my mind? And -- and that Emily has that same calming effect --
Sonny: On me that she used to have?
Ric: We were in the room. But we talked about the warehouse expansion.
Sonny: No, no, no, no, no. I'm not talking about the warehouse --
Ric: You got upset, right? You got very angry with me because I suggested that we use the coffee business to edge you back into power.
Sonny: What is that?
Ric: The contract with the architect. Look. Look, see this chicken scratch is all over it, on the sides? Those are my notes that I made on changes that you wanted to make. Go ahead.
Ric: We didn't talk about anything personal, Sonny. No personal issues. Not Emily, not -- not Lily. And you definitely didn't ask me to buy you a dress. I mean, if you would have, I would have warned you off about that. You can ask Alexis. I really have terrible taste in women's clothes.
Sonny: It just seems so real -- the conversation that we had that you say we didn't have.
Ric: I know you -- you've been off the tracks lately.
Ric: But you're going to be ok. All right? You have people around you. You've got Emily, and -- and you got me.
Sonny: Yeah. Um -- you going to help me?
Sonny: Well, that's good. How?
Emily: You know, I know it's easy to say after the fact, but there's something about this kid that's so familiar. It's a -- it's a spark. It's an energy. It's you.
Nikolas: You know, you look so -- I don't know -- capable. Like holding him's no big deal. For me, it's -- it's quite terrifying. You know, he's so small, I feel like if I -- if I hold him too -- too tight, I'll shatter him like glass or something.
Emily: Yeah, you're just new at this whole dad thing. You'll settle in.
Nikolas: You think so?
Emily: Yeah. Practice makes perfect. Here, take him.
Nikolas: Come on, babe.
Emily: There you go.
Emily: Ok, that's right. Just support his head.
Nikolas: I know.
Emily: I can't get my arm out from under his head. Ah! There you go.
Nikolas: You know, it blows me away every time I look at him. I mean, I have a son.
Emily: I know.
Jax: Whatever you have to say to me, you can say in front of Carly.
Carly: Haven't you caused enough pain?
Robin: We really have to have this conversation with her here?
Carly: Do not dismiss me from this apartment. I've earned the right to be here.
Jax: You cannot come into this apartment --
Carly: You don't need to defend me. You know what, the fact that you would come here and expect to be welcomed -- that's just perfect. It's perfect. You destroy people's lives with your truth, and what, you want Jax to pat you on the back for it?
Robin: I just want to know how John is.
Carly: John's gone! That innocent little boy whose life revolved around me and Jax is with the Cassadines, wondering what the hell happened.
Robin: I didn't realize Nikolas had John already.
Carly: Yeah, he does. And you know what? He's refused to allow Jax any contact with John. He's isolating that little boy away from everything he knows. He's even fired his nanny -- all because you had to tell the truth.
Robin: You know what? Shut up!
Carly: I'm not shutting up!
Robin: This did not happen because of me. The fallout of this situation is your fault.
Sam: I have missed this place. It feels like I haven't been here in years. When you told me that you were taking me back home, I thought you meant back to Alexis'. When can I have my stuff brought over from Kelly’s?
Jason: Sam, this isn't permanent.
Sam: What do you mean by that?
Jason: You're just, you know, here for one night, long enough for me to pull together a guard team for the lake house.
Sam: I'm sorry. I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Jason: I'm sorry --
Sam: No --
Jason: I should have been more --
Jason: Can you tell me what happened the first two times you called and said you were afraid?
Sam: I already told you, Jason -- I lied, ok?
Jason: Ok, Sam, I don't -- I don't care about the lie. I just want to know the circumstances around the lie. Did something real prompt you? Something you heard or something you saw?
Jason: Are you sure? You have good instincts. Nothing suspicious that might give me a lead to help find who broke into your room?
Sam: No, Jason, you know what? The only thing that scared me was the thought of living the rest of my life without you.
Jax: I have my reasons for doing what I did. You don't have to understand them. But there's no point in assigning blame, ok? John is gone, and that's all there is to it.
Robin: Well, I think we do need to talk about what happened here. You made a bad decision to begin with, but it was Carly who took advantage of the state that you were in when you were grieving Courtney’s death. It didn't matter that the man that she was seducing was her so-called best friend. Or the fact that she had been dead all of five minutes before she tried to take everything that ever belonged to her. Because you know what? The truth is, no matter how much you preach of your independence and your self-sufficiency; you need a man to take care of you.
Carly: Do you ever get tired of your own hypocrisy? You caused the pain. You put your nose where it didn't belong again, and you destroyed a family. Congratulations. Enjoy your victory while you can, because let me tell you something. I don't care how long it takes, or what I have to do -- you will pay.
Jax: Oh, come on, guys. That's enough.
Ric: I think you need to chill out. I can help, by taking care of all the businesses, all the decisions you need to make, the warehouse expansion -- all of that. Any hassles, any plans, ok?
Sonny: I'm going to sit down; I'm going to chill out.
Ric: Go ahead. Hey, sounds like a good idea. Ok, watch it.
Sonny: I'm all right. I just feel like falling down.
Ric: I know.
Sonny: But I'm good.
Ric: Listen, what happened with the dress doesn't leave this room, ok?
Sonny: Oh, yeah.
Ric: Max, if anything out of the ordinary happens to Sonny tonight, I want you to call me on my cell phone, ok?
Max: Yeah, sure. Yeah, I'll call you when hell freezes over. Huh.
Max: Yeah, boss?
Sonny: Find out where this came from. And most important, find out if Ric bought it.
Jason: Sam, I'm leaving. Richie's outside if you need anything.
Richie: He's got Chinese.
Jason: I didn't -- I didn't order any --
Sam: I did.
Jason: Pay him.
Sam: Um -- I -- I got changed, and all my -- all my clothes are at Kelly’s, so I put on one of these. I just -- I haven't eaten all day.
Jason: Here it is.
Sam: Good. You know, there's --
Sam: I got enough for two if you're hungry.
Sonny: Hey. I -- I was going to call you and -- to see what you wanted for dinner.
Emily: Oh. Um -- yeah, I'm -- I'm not hungry.
Sonny: You going to -- you skipping meals?
Emily: I grabbed something at the hospital.
Sonny: Oh. One of those vending machines, and you got the little energy bars and --
Sonny: It's not good for you, you know?
Emily: I tell you what -- I'll eat --
Sonny: Yeah? All right.
Emily: After you tell me what's got you so upset.
Sonny: Why would you say I'm upset? You know what? Truth is I don't even know if I should be, actually.
Emily: Is this about Ric?
Sonny: Why would you say that?
Emily: Because he's been hanging around a lot lately.
Sonny: Yep -- well, yeah. I don't know -- I don't know, you know, what to think of him. Because sometimes I think I got him down cold, and then -- and then, you know, things get confusing.
Emily: I don't understand.
Sonny: Well, he was quick to jump in right when Jason took my business. He's always wanted, you know, me to count on him, to be my brother. And this is, you know -- well, I don't know. Most of the time I think he's sincere.
Emily: Ok. So what's the problem?
Sonny: Something inside of me is screaming at me. My instinct -- reminded me of my history with Ric and how capable he is of manipulating the situation to accomplish whatever scary thing he's got going on in his head. Or it could be me, you know? That's the worst part about what's happening to me right now, is this -- the paranoia gets amped up. I start mistrusting people who mean no harm. I question my judgment, and I'm -- that's when I make mistakes, burn bridges, hurt people who don't deserve it.
Sonny: Yeah. I'll get that. I got it. Yep?
Mike: Hey. Listen, I thought I'd give you a heads-up. Bobbie is throwing a family bash for Nikolas and Courtney’s son here at Kelly’s and, you know, since you didn't make it to the christening, I thought, you know, maybe it'd be a nice gesture to your sister if you could show up and help me represent her side of the family.
Elizabeth: Bobbie? We just left Nikolas at the hospital. He is so wrapped up in baby John, he doesn't suspect a thing. What did you say to get him here, anyway?
Bobbie: That I didn't want to be out of John's life because of the situation between Carly and Jax -- which happens to be true.
Lucky: Yeah, I guess you are kind of in the middle of that.
Bobbie: Yeah, well, I have a lot of experience dodging my daughter's bullets. But luckily, enough people are able to make the separation and not hold me liable for Carly's actions. Anyway, enough of all of that. We have a party we got to set up.
Elizabeth: Ok, what can I do?
Bobbie: How long would it take you to mix up a batch of your famous brownies?
Elizabeth: Faster than you think.
Bobbie: Oh! Let's make sure you have everything.
Elizabeth: I'm sorry. Careful.
Georgie: Lucky --
Lucky: Ok, ok.
Georgie: Oh, thank you. That could've been a disaster. Thank you.
Lucky: Not a problem.
Maxie: That looked like that hurt.
Lucky: Yeah, I won't deny that. Are you going to be able to help me?
Maxie: Lucky, I'm really sorry, but my contact at the hospital didn't exactly come through.
Lucky: I hate putting you in this position, but I really need those pills. Do you think there's any other way that we could get them?
Lulu: Oh, everybody, he's coming, he's coming! Go. Go. Go, go, go, go!
Bobbie: Come on in here. Oh. Let me get my hands on this beautiful baby. Oh, yeah.
Nikolas: Something going on here?
Bobbie: Oh, well, that's a very astute observation.
Carly: You couldn't stand that Jason and I were happy with Michael. So you ran to A.J., and you told him the truth, and you destroyed Michael’s life.
Robin: Oh --
Carly: But that wasn't enough for you, was it, because I was still standing and I was the point.
Robin: You know, your narcissism is a thing of wonder.
Carly: You lost Jason and you hated the fact that we were still close. You've never been able to let go of this grudge against me, Robin.
Jax: Ok, you know what? That's enough, ok?
Carly: It's out of control!
Jax: Stop fighting, both of you.
Robin: You're right, it is enough. Call me when we can talk in private.
Carly: Right. I cannot believe that you don't see her for who she is. She's not your friend! She took your son away from you!
Jax: Ok, John isn't my son! Look, I'm not asking you to like Robin or be her best friend. Just be objective enough to realize that she didn't do this to spite you. Ok, if she -- if she wanted to do that, she would've told Nikolas the truth the moment she found out that he was John's father. It's like Courtney said -- wrong things were done for the right reasons, and this is what we're left with. Just leave it alone.
Carly: The hell I will. Look at us, Jax. We were on the couch about to make love, and Robin shows up and we're fighting! I am not going to let Robin destroy the best thing that's ever happened to me!
Jax: Who says it's been destroyed? Ok, we may have lost John, and it hurts like hell, and it's going to until it stops. But in the meantime, we still have each other. Don't we?
Jason: How much activity at the warehouse? Ok, hold on, hold on. Justus is supposed to meet with him tonight, then we're going to have a better idea what he's planning. No, do not intercept anything; just keep track of what moves where. Thank you.
Sam: Dinner's ready.
Jason: I'm not going to have any.
Sam: Come on, Jason, I checked the fridge. There is no food in the house. Do you not even eat anymore?
Jason: I eat.
Sam: Ok, then please sit down and eat with me.
Jason: Look, I know that this is tough. I shouldn't have brought you here tonight.
Sam: Jason --
Jason: I can't -- I can't do this. I can't eat Chinese, pretend that it's like it used to be, because it's not, Sam. Everything's changed.
Sam: No, you know what? There is one thing that changed -- you stopped believing.
[Knock on door]
Richie: Dr. Winters would like to see you.
Jason: Send her in.
Lainey: Hi. I'm -- I'm so sorry to barge in here, but I'm -- I'm really worried about Justus.
Jason: It's ok. Why?
Lainey: We were supposed to have dinner at my place and Justus never showed, and I know he intended to come. He even called me to tell me that he might be a little bit late because he had to take a meeting for you. And I haven't heard from him since -- he's not answering his cell phone.
Jason: Hmm. I mean, you know, that meeting wasn't a big deal. If I thought it was going to be dangerous, I wouldn't have -- I wouldn't have sent Justus.
Lainey: I -- maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe -- maybe Justus stood me up for some unknown reason, or maybe all his talk about unlucky number 29 just has me a little bit spooked.
Jason: I'll go look for him.
Sonny: I could've done better, you know, where Courtney’s concerned. I was -- I was judgmental, I was distant. We fought about everything all the time -- A.J., Mike, Jason, Jax, Nikolas -- you name it. And now this is what it -- what it comes down to? You know, we have to make up for what Courtney and I didn't have by -- by making appearances at children's parties and memorial services because it's too late to do anything else?
Emily: Yeah, well, you know, we can't change the past. All we have to work with is now.
Emily: Um -- Elizabeth and Lucky invited me to John's party, but I turned them down.
Sonny: Because you're worried about me.
Emily: No. I -- I want to be with you. I still do. Staying here is fine. I told them that.
Sonny: Ok. Then we -- you know what? We should go.
Emily: No, no, no, no. Uh --
Sonny: Come -- what are you -- what?
Emily: Are you sure?
Sonny: Oh. Because Nikolas is going to be there, hmm?
Emily: You tore that dress off of me because you had thoughts of me and Nikolas getting back together because of the baby. What happens if it pushes your buttons to see the three of us in the same room?
Bobbie: Well, I'm going to hazard a guess and say we pulled off a surprise.
Nikolas: Yeah. I can honestly say the last thing I expected was a party, yes.
Lesley: Ok, I've waited long enough. Please, may I hold him?
Lesley: Oh, my --
Nikolas: Here you go.
Lesley: Oh, my goodness.
Nikolas: Got him?
Lesley: Hello, gorgeous. Welcome to your family. Your mom would be so proud.
Nikolas: Yeah, I miss her, too. I wish I could present him to her, you know, her first grandchild, and have her understand it somehow.
Bobbie: You ok?
Lulu: Yeah. No, I'm -- I'm just thrilled for Nikolas. He was robbed of the first few months of John's life, and seeing him now, with everyone here, marking this day, as special as it is, it just got to me for a minute. But you did a good thing pulling this party together.
Bobbie: Thank you, except there's one person missing.
Georgie: Thank you so much. How did you know I needed this?
Lucas: Well, you've been working pretty hard. Where's Dillon?
Georgie: Oh, he had a summer project to do for film class. He's a little busy. Where's Guy?
Maxie: Um -- I have to go.
Maxie: I have some things I need to take care of.
Georgie: Maxie, that's what you said at my graduation party. Since when did you become so busy?
Maxie: Just explain to Bobbie for me, ok?
Mike: You know, it really takes a big man to admit this, but your brownies are so much better than mine.
Elizabeth: Well, it's about the only thing I have in my repertoire, and I've had way too much practice.
Mike: So I thought Robin would be here.
Elizabeth: Yeah, I know Bobbie left her a message.
Mike: Maybe she's on her way.
Emily: I am going to suggest something radical.
Emily: I want to drive -- my car, not yours. Don't worry.
Sonny: You afraid to ride with me?
Emily: No, of course not. I just think it would be nice, you know; if you got to sit in the back, roll the windows down --
Sonny: Ok, I bought you that -- you know why I bought you that dress? Because I wanted to give you a token of my love, and to -- you know, something -- give you something beautiful because -- and I am sorry that I did what did.
Emily: You need to stop apologizing.
Sonny: Yeah, a million apologies could not take back what I did. The fact that you're still here, right here --
Emily: Is reason enough for you to realize that what we have is real and it's something to lean on when the need arises.
Sonny: No, you're stronger than I am. I do -- I do the leaning all the time.
Emily: Maybe today, and then the roles are going to reverse. Right? That's the way love works.
Sonny: Shall we?
Emily: Are you sure you still want to? I'll be right by your side.
Emily: Everything's going to be fine. As long as we're together, solid, no one can hurt us.
Sonny: Ok. Thank you. Let's go.
Ric: Look, I just want to make sure that we understand one another here. My situation is very, very delicate. You see, I'm married, and the woman is in love with my brother. Right. Yes, under no circumstances is anybody to know that I bought that dress.
Maxie: Thanks for meeting me.
Man: I make it a practice never to turn down a pretty lady. But I'm confused. What makes you think I'm dealing?
Maxie: I've seen you in the parking lot of every after-hour club in town. And they call you "Fix" -- come on.
Fix: All right. I've seen you, too. What do you need?
Fix: That's harder stuff than I usually carry. I got some Oxy on special.
Maxie: Uh-uh. That's not the same.
Fix: It'll get you close enough to where you need to go -- mellow, blissed out.
Maxie: Ok, how much?
Maxie: I've only got 20.
Fix: Sorry, can't help you.
Maxie: No -- wait. Maybe we could work something out.
Lucky: Hey, I was about to bring you this.
Elizabeth: Oh. Gee, thanks. Honey, you look like you're in pain.
Lucky: Yeah, it comes and goes. I don't regret, though, tossing those pills.
Elizabeth: Good. Good. I'm really glad to hear that.
Lucky: Listen, I have to go. Don't worry about me; I'm going to be fine.
Elizabeth: Whatever you say.
Lucky: Yeah. I love you.
Elizabeth: I love you, too. You be careful out there.
Lucky: Hey, I got to split.
Lucky: I just want to say congratulations.
Nikolas: Thank you. I can count on you to help out, right?
Lucky: Yeah, you don't even have to ask, but you won't need as much help as you think. I got a feeling that you're going to be an amazing father.
Lulu: Your son misses you.
Nikolas: Oh, did he tell you that?
Lulu: Yes, in so many gurgles.
Nikolas: Come here, babe.
Lulu: You two look great together.
Nikolas: You don't know how badly I wanted this. Courtney and I -- we had a lot of plans.
Lulu: Well, you can still make them come true. And I am available for babysitting duty anytime, by the way.
Nikolas: I'll definitely be taking you up on that. I mean, I hired a nanny and I have Alfred, and -- but I want him to have as much family around as possible.
Luke: All right, Barbara Jean, what's the big emergency?
Luke: I don't like the looks of this. Why am I here?
Bobbie: Because I wanted you to meet Nikolas' new son, Laura’s first grandchild.
Luke: Oh, no, you don’t. Oh, no. Uh-uh. Nobody's calling me "Grandpa" -- especially not no Cassadine.
Lulu: If you call my sweet little nephew "the son of spawn," I will never forgive you. Look at him.
Lulu: So -- I'm sure Nikolas doesn't want you to play Grandpa. But if you look in this sweet little boy's face -- hi, hi -- you'll see the same thing that I do -- a little piece of mom newly born, living on.
Maxie: Like you said, you've seen me around.
Fix: I see lots of people, some I never see again -- especially the ones that owe me. No tabs.
Maxie: Ok -- um -- maybe I could buy half now, and then I'll buy the rest later. Please? It's for a friend.
Fix: "A friend." Right. That's what they all say.
Maxie: No, I'm serious. This guy has been really good to me and I want to help him.
Fix: All right.
Maxie: Really? Ok. Hey, what are you doing?
Fix: Like you said, working something out.
Maxie: No, let go of me! Let go!
Lucky: Police! Freeze!
Det. Rodriguez: I'm going to need you to stand back.
Lainey: Don't even think about trying to stop me. I'm the one who led you here.
Det. Rodriguez: We go in first -- that's non-negotiable.
Officer: We've got blood on the floor and a shell casing.
Det. Rodriguez: I'll get forensics. Keep looking.
Sam: It's bad, isn't it?
Jason: I think Justus is dead.
Sam: What? Why? How?
Jason: I found blood on the floor of the warehouse. I'm pretty sure he got ambushed.
Sam: Ok, but -- but you didn't find his body or anything, right?
Jason: No, not yet.
Sam: Ok, then, Jason, you can't be sure.
Jason: What I'm sure of is someone else got shot because of me. And you wonder why we can't be together? This is it right here, this is my life, and I'm not going to let you be the next casualty.
Sonny: Here goes nothing.
Sonny: I can't do this.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Lucky: Oxycontin? I'm confiscating these drugs.
Lainey: I want you to tell me what happened to Justus.
Diego: We got a problem.
