P.A. Announcer: Dr. Scorpio, 3404. Dr. Robin Scorpio, call 3404.
Morgan: That's right.
Carly: Hey, guys. What are you -- what are you up to?
Michael: Making invitations.
Carly: For what?
Michael: Oh, well, it's dad's birthday today so me and Morgan want to throw him a surprise birthday party. Mmm-mmm!
Bernie: Ah. I'm sorry, Ms. McCall. Jason's been using the office for meetings. I'm going to have to run numbers out here.
[Knock on door]
Richie: Mr. Escobar is here.
Bernie: Good, right on time. Excuse me.
Bernie: Mr. Escobar, I'm so glad you could join us.
Mr. Escobar: I see Mr. Morgan received his delivery.
Mr. Escobar: Hello.
Bernie: Sam McCall, Miguel Escobar.
Sam: Nice to meet you.
Miguel: It's my pleasure.
Bernie: Mr. Morgan's waiting for you in his office. I'll take you right back.
Miguel: It's an extreme pleasure to know that Mr. Morgan has taken control of the business. Sonny's erratic temperament has been a liability for a very long time.
Sonny: Start with Miguel Escobar. Then visit with the heads of the other families. I want a meeting with all of them this afternoon.
Sonny: Does that confuse you in any way?
Max: Well, you've just never done business in the house before.
Sonny: It's a new day, Max. I want to make a statement. Got to make sure they understand that any refusal will be met with reprisal. And I want to make it unmistakably clear that I'm still in charge and I intend to stay that way no matter what I have to do, no matter who thinks they can stop me.
Patrick: Are those tears?
Elizabeth: Um -- no.
Patrick: I see -- you have something in your eye. Can I help?
Elizabeth: I wish you could. I'd take it from anybody at this point.
Patrick: Tell you what -- I'm not going to be insulted by that remark. I'm just going to offer an ear -- sometimes it's all that's required.
Elizabeth: I am trying so hard to give Lucky the space he needs. My husband is a very proud man. I know this, so I tread carefully and I try not to help him even though everything I have inside of me screams "just -- just go to him." He's in a lot of pain and he's determined to fight his way through this and get better and I find myself just staying away so that I don't -- so he doesn't feel --
Elizabeth: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Patrick: I can understand where Lucky's coming from. Most men make terrible patients, present company included.
Elizabeth: So what do I do? You know what? Actually, you're barely recovered yourself. I shouldn't be dumping my problems on you.
Patrick: Well, it's good for me to get reconnected to the world outside of my hospital room. Bed rest is a luxury I can't afford anymore.
Elizabeth: I don't understand.
Robin: Excuse me -- what do you think you're doing?
Patrick: I was talking to Elizabeth.
Ron: You should be in bed resting.
Patrick: Ok, my mother died. I didn't apply for another one. I checked myself out.
Robin: What is the big rush? Why can't you let your body heal in its own time?
Noah: I want the Fitzgerald file on my desk ASAP.
Epiphany: Are you asking me or telling me?
Noah: Whatever gets it there quicker.
Epiphany: Oh. Well, I already pulled the chart, and since you're so far up the road to recovery, I'm sure you can get it to your office yourself.
Patrick: If he's ok, I'm better.
Carly: All right, Michael, you know, I know it's your dad's birthday, but I can pretty much guarantee you he hasn't given it a second thought.
Michael: That's why holding a birthday party is good -- because he'll be totally surprised.
Carly: I know that, but -- I think it's great that you and Morgan want to do this for your dad. I do. But he's really busy with work right now and I'm thinking a belated birthday party may be the way to go.
Michael: It doesn't count unless it's actually on the day, and dad has to know that we remembered. Please, mom. Morgan and I really want to do this.
Carly: Yeah. I can see this is really important to you.
Michael: We can't pull it off without your help.
Carly: Ok. Maybe your dad could use the distraction. Count me in, count me in.
Michael: Yes! Thank you, mom.
Carly: You're welcome.
Michael: You are the best.
Carly: Ok. So, how can I help? What do you want me to do?
Michael: Well, you can make sure that I have everyone. Kristina has to come. Uh -- Grandpa Mike, Leticia -- ooh, and most of all, Jason.
Sam: Mike, I need to commandeer a table.
Mike: Yeah, well, I'm going to take a clue from those books that you're here to study.
Sam: Yeah, I just -- I can't -- I can't get any quiet at home, so --
Mike: Oh, I'd think you'd be used to that with Jason and Sonny, the guards in and out all the time.
Sam: No, I -- I normally am. I just -- you know, I need to concentrate. That's all.
Mike: Ok, ok. Make yourself comfortable; stay as long as you want. Do you need anything?
Sam: Coffee would be great and I don't know -- something sweet.
Mike: Something sweet.
Sam: You decide.
Mike: I got something that'll knock your socks off.
Sam: Thank you.
Ric: I couldn't help but overhear.
Sam: Sure you could, Ric. You just didnít.
Ric: I know Jason and Sonny have had some tension recently. Has it gotten any better?
Sam: Hmm. What do you mean, Sonny didn't tell you? Wow, I am -- I am so shocked. Brace yourself because you're really going to like this one. Jason took over for Sonny's business. Yeah, that's right, Ric -- it's about as ugly as it gets, but not for you because now's your chance. You can scurry on over to Sonny's like the little cockroach you are and fill that big, fat void.
Max: I have major worries, ok? The boss wants me to get Escobar and the family heads here for a meeting that has no chance in hell of happening. They all fell down on Jasonís side. What am I supposed to do? No, you're right, you know? I'll -- I'm just the messenger, you know, doing what he's told. I'll extend the invitation; deliver Sonny's message. Who cares if they laugh in my face, you know? I'll just -- I'll turn around and I'll come back here and -- what? What -- what do I tell the boss? Right again. I'll just make something up. Say they're out of town -- better yet, I'll be the one to leave. I hear Madridís great this time of year. Thanks, Milo.
Emily: I need to check in at the hospital, see how Lucky's doing.
Sonny: I know you heard that I want to stay in charge.
Emily: I wasn't eavesdropping.
Sonny: I'm not saying you were. I'm not going to hide what's going on here. I worked too hard for everything that I have to just let Jason or anybody else take it away. I am fighting back, starting today.
Emily: I don't need to know the details.
Sonny: I know you don't, but you do need to know what's coming. Your brother Jason and I are in a power struggle. Things are going to get difficult, stuff's going to come down that you don't need to see, so what I'm saying is it would be best if you went out of town.
Emily: You can get that out of your mind. I'm not going anywhere.
Lorenzo: I hope you're hungry. I was hoping to have lunch.
Skye: Oh, you know what I could really go for? Hot fudge sundae.
Lorenzo: Ha. A pregnancy craving?
Skye: No. I just really want one and now I have the perfect excuse.
Lorenzo: All right.
John: Oh, hey. Well, you're not the only one. Well, you're playing it off well here, sitting with your pretty lady like it's a nice, normal afternoon. The three of us know that you're licking your chops at the prospects that are opening up for you.
Skye: Are we supposed to even know what he's talking about?
John: Oh. Oh, you haven't heard? My prayers have been answered, hallelujah. Sonny Corinthos, Jason Morgan are finally at war, and if I were a rival like Mr. Alcazar here, I would see this for the perfect opportunity that it is to step right in and wrest control from both of them, huh?
Carly: Thanks. Bye. The cake and the decorations are all set and Ernesto is delivering the invitations just like you wanted.
Michael: Thanks, mom.
Carly: My resources are your resources, but I want you to understand something -- Jason is also busy. There's a good chance he might not make it to the party.
Michael: Jason makes time for me, and it's dad's birthday. No way he would miss it.
Carly: You know how when you and Morgan are playing a game and sometimes you see the rules differently and you argue about it? That's what's happening right now between Jason and your father.
Michael: They're having a fight?
Carly: They're having a fight. But it's nothing we need to worry about because just like you and your brother still love each other --
Carly: So do Jason and your dad.
Ric: I have no intention of trying to fill Jasonís shoes nor do I ever think that I could.
Sam: Great. For once, we actually agree on something.
Ric: Well, you know, I got too much ego, whereas Jason -- he puts his needs, his whole life on hold, made himself comfortable being second while Sonny ordered him around, telling him who and who he could not be with, where he could and couldn't go.
Sam: You're making it sound like Jason was Sonny's lap dog. That's not how it was --
Ric: No, no, no. I'm saying that Jason made himself comfortable, not that he was going to accept that things would always be that way. I got to give Jason proprietary credit, though. He played his hand beautifully -- sat around all those years pretending to be the loyal doormat, just waiting for his time, looking for an easy excuse. In walked Emily, right, his own sister. Well, he knew full well that he was going to have to ask Sonny to -- to give her up and he knew that Sonny wouldn't do it. Then when Sonny played right into his hands, of course, that's when Jason took over -- the invisible inside man, the unimaginable betrayal, something that Sonny would've never seen coming.
Sam: Wow. I mean, that is an interesting theory. It -- it makes sense if we were talking about you. That's why you came to town, right? To get Sonny and take everything that belonged to him --
Sam: Because you had nothing as a child? Jason is not like that. That's not who he is or who he could ever be. Jason genuinely loves Sonny like a brother. You would know nothing about that kind of love. What's happening right now with Jason is hurting him. Underneath everything, he's worried about Sonny.
Ric: You might want to reassess Jasonís motives there, Sam, because when I saw him the other day, he seemed perfectly ok with me stepping in to pick up the pieces, which I am more than happy to do because Sonny is my brother. So you tell your fiancť, everything's ok. I'm going to make sure that Sonny comes out of this just fine. And when he does, Jason might want to watch his back.
Emily: I have my own life outside of you. I'm a med student. I have family and friends, way too much to leave behind on a moment's notice for who knows how long.
Sonny: I'm not asking you to give up whatever -- you know, everything that matters to you to sit in my cabana for the rest of your life. Things are going to get ugly between me and Jason. Our friendship may not last and I don't want you to have to see that destruction. So that's why I'm saying it's best for you to go away. Now, I know your career is very important to you. Your father -- I mean, he's Chief of Staff, right?
Sonny: He can work the system; he can get some kind of --
Emily: No! I love you, Sonny, but I'm not going to listen to you on this. And if you think I'm going to change my mind, then we need to forget business and even Jason for a moment and discuss how we're going to survive.
Lucky: How did you know you were exactly the person I wanted to see?
Lulu: Well, I'm psychic that way. How are you?
Lucky: Well, I'm making progress. You see?
Lulu: Oh. Ok, well, you'll have to do a little better than that.
Lucky: Well, it's not exactly bench-pressing 300 pounds but, yeah, well, physical therapy, it's a one-step type of thing.
Lulu: Well, that's -- that's not what I meant. I mean, that you can be honest with me, you know? I'm not going to break. I survived our father.
Lulu: Speaking of -- don't expect him to visit anytime soon.
Lucky: Well, I haven't had any expectations of our dad in a long time.
Lucky: How is he?
Lulu: He took off again.
Lucky: Any particular reason?
Lulu: Well, a couple. Robert Scorpio showed up this time with a price on dad's head from the Markham Islands.
Lucky: Ah, that's our guy, always running from the law.
Lulu: Towards something or someone.
Lucky: What do you mean?
Lulu: Well, before dad left, he got a call --
Elizabeth: Lulu, donít.
Ric: Excuse me. That's a good color for you.
Mike: Well, thanks.
Ric: Hey, baby. How are you? What -- did I miss something? Is it National Balloon Day or something?
Kristina: Mommy's mean.
Ric: Oh, sweetie. Why would you say that?
Kristina: She won't let me go anywhere. I want to go there.
Alexis: Mean mommy would like to talk to Ric, but I want you to have some lunch, ok?
Ric: Yes -- here. Oh, it's Sonny's birthday, right. What do we got here, huh? It seems that "You are invited to a surprise party --" oh, Michael and Morgan did this for their dad. Ah, then that would explain Mike. Huh.
Alexis: It just happened right this second, at the very last minute. They expect us to just drop all our plans and stop the world at their whim.
Ric: And I take it you're not going to go, huh?
Alexis: No, I didn't say that at all. I -- I'm just saying that we have a doctor's appointment and I -- it took me three months to schedule that, but she knows --
Ric: Well, we can reschedule that --
Alexis: All right.
Ric: In just a few seconds. I'll be happy to take her to her father's party. Right? That going to work?
Ric: That a girl.
Bernie: Uh, Ms. McCall? My laptop -- sorry.
Sam: Oh, sorry.
Bernie: I thought you were out for the day.
Sam: Let's understand each other, Bernie. This is my house, too, and I can wander in and out of here at will and I can change my mind if I feel like it.
Bernie: Well, of course. I -- I didn't mean to overstep.
[Knock on door]
Bernie: Ah. I better get that. We're expecting Mr. Galasco.
Sam: Of course you are.
Michael: I need to see Jason.
Michael: It's important.
John: And while I understand the temptation, if you're thinking about using Sonny's problems with your son to organize a little coup, I'd rethink it, because I'm going to be watching you.
Lorenzo: What else is new?
John: Oh, and that little bun you got in the oven there -- I'm sure you don't want to miss that whole sweet delivery room thing because you're sitting in prison, right?
Lorenzo: Could you be any more transparent? You want Sonny and Jason to cancel each other out. And you're afraid that if I make a move, that that will allow them to forget their differences and put up a united front against me. Well, I'll tell you what, Durant -- you and Sonny and Jason are free to do whatever you want to each other with no interference from me.
John: Good, good. Let's keep it that way. Looking good, so are you.
Skye: Well, judging from your reaction, I'd say that's the first you'd heard about Sonny and Jason.
Lorenzo: It is.
Skye: Ok. Now that you know, aren't you even tempted to make a grab for Sonny's empire?
Carly: Hey, hey.
Jax: Ha. You have any concept of time at all?
Carly: I know I'm late. I'm sorry.
Carly: Something came up.
Jax: Yeah, we need to go over the patio designs, and the liquor supplier, he called and --
Carly: Oh, I already found a new supplier and --
Jax: You did?
Carly: For the patio designs, I like the second one better.
Jax: Wow. I'm mildly impressed.
Carly: You're more than impressed and you know it, and you know what? I was thinking that while we have a contractor on site, we should have him turn one of the ground-floor offices into a daycare facility for the employees' kids.
Jax: Oh, that's a brilliant idea -- whoa! Hold on a second. So, now, tell me why you sent Hernando on this crazy errand where he was carrying a bunch of balloons.
Carly: I was just getting ready to tell you about that.
Carly: I can't make it to today's budget meeting because it's Sonny's birthday.
Jax: Oh --
Carly: And don't look like that, please. Please don't -- don't look like that because it's not what you think. The boys want to throw a surprise party for Sonny, and I tried to talk them out of it, but they're so determined and they want us all to be there -- Jason, Emily, me, and they want this whole, big happy family that we're not.
Carly: And Michael won't listen, so I have to be there for damage control.
Jax: Yeah, I totally understand. I understand.
Carly: No, you donít. You donít. But you will, you will. When John's older, you'll see how hard it is figuring out what they're old enough to handle or not.
Jax: Well, that's already starting. When I'm holding John in my arms, you know, my mind races ahead to what questions he's going to ask, what I'm going to tell him about his mother and his father.
Sonny: I'm trying to do what's best for you. I really am. Yeah, you know what? I wish I -- I wish I could not even think about my business, but I can't do that right now because it's been stolen from me. Overnight. Everything I worked so hard for; poured my life's blood into. What I do is who I am. You don't get to just come in and take away a man's pride, his integrity, who he is, his identity.
Emily: That's not what Jason wanted you to lose. He knows what the business means to you. He never wanted you to be without it. He wanted you to be without me.
Sonny: Jason doesn't have that right! He doesn't get to order me -- "What do you want, the business or Emily?" You -- you don't get to do that because I'm not letting you go. And I'm going to take back what's mine. No matter what the cost. Jason does what I say -- it's not the other way around. And I'm not going to let him get away with this. But I know he's your brother and you love him. That's why I need you to go away. Because when things come down, it's going to get ugly between --
Emily: I can handle it.
Sonny: Can you handle watching your brother die?
Patrick: So you're up?
Noah: Yeah, I'm feeling better. Why, you worried?
Patrick: Only that you're pushing it.
Noah: What, my recovery? Or showing you up in the O.R.?
Patrick: Why don't you save your energy for something you might actually accomplish? You'll never best me.
Noah: Really? Why don't we compare calendars? What's on yours?
Patrick: I've lined up a few consultations.
Noah: Yeah, well, I've booked an assist. The Fitzgerald case.
Patrick: Neither difficult nor groundbreaking. I had a similar case last year.
Noah: Yeah, I read about it. I read about it. Patient could have woken up brain dead. Instead, he ended up with a minor disability. That's laudable, but I can do better. I've developed a technique. Reduces postsurgical scarring to minimize neurological damage. And this is a perfect case to test it on.
Patrick: Don't do this.
Noah: Why? Can't stand the heat?
Patrick: No, you can't afford another failure. You're not well enough to attempt something so intricate.
Noah: I appreciate your concern, Patrick, but I beg to differ.
Patrick: You're a vain, reckless fool.
Robin: Could you give it a rest? Your father is barely out of surgery.
Patrick: Are you defending him after he almost ruined your medical career?
Robin: I'm overcompensating with your father because I'm ready to kill my own.
Elizabeth: Whatever this is needs to stay between Robert and Luke. Lucky's kind of out of commission right now. He doesn't need to get overexcited or go running after your dad.
Lucky: Ok, since -- since when would I do that?
Elizabeth: Since you realized how much Lulu needs him.
Lulu: Well, yeah, you know, maybe Elizabeth is right. I mean, I think you should be taking care of yourself. I'll be fine, whether my dad's around or not. Ok? I love you.
Lucky: Yeah, you, too. Is there anything you want to tell me?
Elizabeth: Like what?
Lucky: Like do you know where my dad went?
Elizabeth: No. And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you.
Lucky: Ok, you know what? Just put on the brakes. You're starting to treat me like some person who can't even think for himself. It's bad enough that I have to sit here and let Nikolas pay for my bills, again. You know what? I don't need you making me feel like less.
Elizabeth: Instead of getting ticked at me, maybe you should just be grateful you didn't suffer any permanent damage and respect the recovery process. Unless you want to end up in that wheelchair for the rest of your life.
Lucky: What, you think I can't handle that? Or maybe you're just worried about yourself. Elizabeth? Elizabeth?
Alexis: You know, you don't have to deny it, because it's very obvious that you are gravitating towards your brother again.
Ric: Well, he can use all the family he can get around him right now.
Alexis: You think, like the rest of us, he needs therapy.
Ric: He needs somebody that he can trust.
Alexis: He pays people to trust.
Ric: Hey, Mike. Looks like the two of you got the same invitation to a really cool party.
Ric: Sweetheart, what about this -- why don't you -- why don't you pick out some goodies to bring to the party, huh? That sound good? Mike?
Mike: That sounds good to me. What do you say, honey bun? You want to come with Uncle Mike and look at the pastries?
Ric: That a girl.
Mike: You do?
Ric: Go pick some good ones.
Mike: Come on, let's go.
Ric: Something happened that you're not quite aware of. Sonny's most trusted friend just stole his business right out from underneath him.
Alexis: Took over the organization?
Ric: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. He blindsided Sonny, and he sidelined him, leaving him with nothing.
Alexis: That could be a good thing.
Ric: Yeah, to you and I, because we're civilians. But in their world, a full-scale mob war is about to break out.
Alexis: Now, if Jason takes over the organization, then Kristina is -- is not a target anymore. So all's well that ends well.
Alexis: Are you hoping that Sonny becomes isolated and desolate, and that he needs you again and comes to you and asks for your help?
Ric: Is that what you want, Alexis? You want me to join forces with Sonny? And that way, it leaves you the excuse to do what you really want? I tell you -- let's put an end to this right now. I think I still got him on speed dial. Yeah, there we go. There's John Durantís phone number conveniently entered. All you have to do is hit send and you, my dear, are the new A.D.A.
Lorenzo: It's hard to believe how quickly you can change your life when presented with a good enough reason. Just a few months ago, trouble between Sonny and Jason would have been like a gift from heaven. Durant wouldn't have had to tell me about it. I would have known for weeks. I'd already be in takeover mode. Now there's you and our baby. And that's the only thing that matters to me right now.
Skye: Is it even possible to keep us safe, Lorenzo? Sonny and Jason are probably so preoccupied with each other, they don't even care about us. And what about Manny? Is he really gone?
Carly: You know, the only thing that you and Nikolas agree on is that the hostility between the two of you is not good for John.
Carly: And you'll do something to fix it?
Jax: Like what?
Carly: I don't know. Get to know Nikolas. Find something to like about him. We could have him over for dinner.
Jax: Nikolas and I hate each other. We wouldn't make it through appetizers.
Carly: You and I used to hate each other, and we now find very interesting things to do.
Jax: Why is it so important for you to broker peace between me and Nikolas, anyway?
Carly: Well, because the tension bothers you.
Jax: What makes you think that?
Carly: Because you bring it up a lot.
Jax: I do?
Carly: It's like you're waging this internal battle with yourself. You don't want Nikolas around John. But you know Courtney would have, and you'd like to honor Courtneyís wishes. Like it or not, Courtney and Nikolas were deeply in love. And like it or not, Nikolas is going to be an ongoing part of John's life. And I don't think it's fair to leave him out in the cold. However, I got you this. In there.
Jax: This is for me?
Carly: Yeah, that's for you.
Jax: Wow. He is beautiful.
Carly: I thought that you could bond with John over that. And -- I don't know -- when you're alone, you could look at it and you could think about the father that you want to be, and the truths that you'd want to tell.
Jax: Yeah. Yeah, I'll -- I'll do exactly that.
Sam: I'm sorry, buddy, but Jason is in a really important meeting, and it might go on a little while.
Michael: Well, can you give this to him?
Sam: "You're invited to a surprise birthday party for my --" your dad is having a birthday?
Michael: Yeah. You're invited, too, but Jason has to be there.
Sam: I don't -- I don't know if he's going to be able to make it. He's really, really busy right now.
Michael: Oh. That's what mom said. I know Jason. He'll do it for dad.
Sonny: So are you just going to go, then?
Emily: I have to. I'm running late.
Sonny: You can't ignore what I said. The reality of, you know -- of the situation. Jason and I --
Emily: While I'm gone, I'd like you to think of a positive way to end that sentence.
Sonny: What's up?
Carly: I need you to meet me at the Metro Court lobby.
Sonny: I'm kind of busy right now.
Carly: Well, I wouldn't ask if it weren't important.
Sonny: What's it about?
Carly: Our sons.
Jax: You think it's going to work?
Carly: Well, Sonny usually does the right thing when it comes to his boys. You'll know all about that one day.
Bernie: You know, at the risk of being presumptuous once again, what's going on back there is very critical. I know you care about Sonny's boys, as does Jason.
Sam: I know. You're right. It probably won't make any difference. Even so, can you -- can you give this to Jason and let him know that I'm going to be at Sonny's birthday party? I expect him to be there. But if he doesn't make it, I understand. I'm just not so sure the boys will.
Emily: Hey, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: Hey. Oh, here. This is for you.
Emily: What? A single balloon?
Elizabeth: Bad news doesn't want to come on the end of a balloon. What are you doing here, anyway? You're not on the schedule.
Emily: Yeah, I didn't -- didn't know where else to go.
Elizabeth: What's going on?
Emily: Things are bad with Sonny and Jason. I'm talking really bad. Frankly, they're not so great with me and Sonny, either. And now I get an invitation from Michael and Morgan expecting me at surprise birthday party for Sonny.
Elizabeth: It's a party. What could happen? Wait, scratch that. Carly's going to be there.
Emily: Well, I'm more worried about Jason. Michael must have invited him.
Elizabeth: Jason and Sonny love those boys. Who knows? Maybe this party will mend things.
Emily: Elizabeth, Sonny came right out and said that he might have to kill Jason to end the war that I started between them. What have I done? I thought all I was doing was falling in love, but I've set something in motion that could get my brother killed.
Alexis: Pretty soon, you're going to find those all over the place. You're going to find baby food on your pants --
Alexis: And cereal in your shoe.
Jax: Can't wait.
Alexis: Can I have a minute of your time?
Jax: I always have a minute for you.
Alexis: It's a professional crisis. You know that suite that I needed for my partnership with Ric in business?
Jax: Yeah, the one that Carly doesn't want you to have.
Alexis: Yeah, well, I need it. I need it, I need it now, and here's why. Ric and I are working together. It's not working out. We're going to kill each other, so we need a bigger space, because if we don't get the space, I'm going to end up at the A.D.A.'s office, which, I think, is actually where I want to be. And Ric is going to end up working for his brother, which I think is actually where he wants to be.
Jax: One little office isn't going to propel your husband into the clutches of the underworld or force you into an unholy alliance with Durant.
Alexis: It could. Which is why my happiness, my marriage, and my general well-being is in your hands.
Jax: Well, you know, I'll always make sure you get what you really want, so I'm not going to rent you the room.
Elizabeth: Ok, I'm wrong and you're right.
Patrick: Ooh. It gives me perverse pleasure to hear a beautiful woman say that to me.
Elizabeth: I'm just not quite sure how to thank you.
Patrick: Now, that's a whole lot of a different perverse pleasure.
Elizabeth: God, what is wrong with you? You are terrible!
Patrick: I'm glad you came to see me. You know, I'm sure it's going to work out just great.
Elizabeth: And I think you offered me exactly what I need, so thank you.
Patrick: Well, if there's anything else I can do for you --
Elizabeth: No, I think I'm good.
Patrick: You sure?
Elizabeth: Epiphany's going to be thrilled that I finally got these done, so yes. Thank you for your help. I hope they're right.
Alexis: You're sending me to the A.D.A. chair?
Jax: You know, from what I've seen, you and Ric work best on opposite ends. I mean, so much so that Ric is just -- you know, he's just dying to go work for Sonny. And you are ready to -- to ride shotgun with Durant in the D.A.'s office. I mean, that's a job that will place you squarely in opposition to Ric.
Alexis: That is a ridiculous theory.
Jax: Antagonism is like foreplay for you, Alexis.
Alexis: That is a gross exaggeration.
Jax: It's the truth, and you know it. Have fun.
Alexis: This is Alexis Davis. I need to speak to John Durant.
John: Go ahead.
Lorenzo: If it's predictions from a crystal ball you want, I can't help you. But, if you're looking for a hot fudge sundae, I know the best place in town.
Skye: How would you know about ice cream?
Lorenzo: Skye, there are depths to me you have not began to discover. Come on.
Bernie: Mr. Morgan, I'm setting out for that appointment.
Max: I hope this flies. I made up excuses from all the bosses and why they couldn't show. Now I just have to sell it to Sonny.
Milo: Max -- Max, wait --
Max: No, wait -- no waiting, all right? The sooner I get this over with, the better.
Max: Ahem --
Carly: What are you doing? What are you doing? Sonny's car just pulled up. You're going to ruin everything.
Max: I'm sorry, Mrs. C.
Carly: Go! Get out of here!
Max: You idiot. Why didn't you say something?
Sonny: Everybody's inside and waiting?
Max: You could say that.
Carly: Happy birthday!
Michael: How old are you?
Carly: Oh, God.
Sonny: Hey --
Carly: Your boys came up with this idea, so don't blow it for them, ok?
Michael: Ok, you were totally surprised.
Sonny: You got that right.
Michael: Happy birthday, dad.
>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "General Hospital."
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Lulu: Why would you go to the Markham Islands when you know that they put a bounty over your head?
Robert: Did Luke leave a forwarding address?
Robin: Lucky, is something wrong?
Lucky: Dr. Drake's after my wife.
Michael: Happy birthday dad.
Max: We have a straggler.
