Luke: What do you --? What the hell was that for?

Lulu: In case you were wondering, your son almost died last night.

Elizabeth: Hey! You just had back surgery! What are you thinking?

Lucky: I have to go to Jesse’s funeral.

Georgie: Maxie, where have you been? You're not picking up your cell phone. Dad's worried sick.

Maxie: I had a lot of stuff to do this morning. I had to go through all of Jesse’s stuff. I mean, someone -- someone had to pack it up. I found this in one of his books. It's a picture of Jesse with his brother, the one who died.

Georgie: Wow, he looks just like him.

Dillon: We should do something. Let us help in some way or --

Maxie: No, no. No, thank you. Jesse never asked me to do anything. But I was always on him about something or the other and, you know, he never, ever told me that I was high maintenance or not worth it.

Georgie: Maxie, Jesse was crazy about you.

Maxie: I know. I just -- I didn't do very much for him while he was alive, and I want to make sure that he's honored in the way that he should be. I'm going to give this to the Funeral Director. I think he'd want to be buried with it.

Jason: This has to happen exactly like we discussed.

Bernie: Are you sure we'll get no opposition?

Jason: How long will it take?

Bernie: Once we set things in motion, there's going to be no turning back. This is a huge step, and not without risk.

Jason: If you don't want to be involved, I understand.

Bernie: No. No, I -- I am confident you'll be able to make this work.

[Knock on door]

Jason: Not now!

Jason: Excuse me.

Emily: Yes, now. Jason, this has got to stop.

Sonny: You're getting a raise, Max.

Max: Well, thanks, Mr. C, but I'm fine with the way things are.

Sonny: Things are changing around here. I just need to figure out who I can trust.

Max: On my mother's life, you know you can trust me, boss.

Sonny: Yeah, I know I can.

[Doorbell rings]

Max: It's ok. Thank you.

Sonny: Thanks for getting the door.

Ric: I understand there's a war brewing between you and Jason. I'm here to take sides.

Luke: Lucky turned in his badge and his gun. How'd he get hurt?

Lulu: That psycho Manny Ruiz, flipped out and held Elizabeth hostage with a knife to her throat, and Lucky went to go rescue her.

Luke: What do the doctors say is wrong with him?

Lulu: He fractured some bones in his spine and he had surgery and he's probably going to be ok, but not anytime soon. And you would know this if you checked your messages. I left you at least 10 since last night, not including the ones Aunt Bobbie left you. Where were you?

Luke: I had a high roller in from Japan. The guy's owned -- he owns, like, 10, 12 distilleries.

Lulu: Oh, wow, your dream come true. Did you ask him to adopt you?

Luke: Yeah, he was losing big over there on the roulette table.

Lulu: Oh, and goodness knows we can't let your son's injuries get in the way of a good night at the table.

Luke: Hey, look, I -- I didn't know anybody was hurt. So I know you're scared and you're -- you're upset, but don't unload on me. Don't -- don't even pretend that this is my fault. I begged Lucky not to become a cop. I almost disowned him over the whole damn thing.

Lulu: And that's your M.O. When the going gets tough?

Luke: Ok, look, I know you want to take this out on somebody, so be my guest.

Lulu: No, what I want, just for once, is for you to start acting like a father.

Luke: Aagh!

Elizabeth: Do you know why you're connected to this morphine drip? Because your pain is only going to get more intense.

Lucky: Elizabeth, I need to be at Jesse’s funeral.

Elizabeth: I do not want you jeopardizing your health, and you know what? Jesse wouldn't want that, either. Now, you can push this button every 20 minutes as needed for pain, ok?

Lucky: Jesse was my partner. You know what? I should be there when they bury him.

Nikolas: Lucky, no one expects you to be at the funeral, not after what you've been through.

Elizabeth: Thank God you' here, because I am done arguing with him. Will you please tell him that he's only going to hurt himself if he goes?

Lucky: Jesse was only there that night because I asked him to.

Nikolas: Doesn't make it your fault. Jesse knew the risk. He died in the line of duty doing a job he loved. If you get out of that bed too soon, you could end your career, as well. I doubt Jesse would want that.

Elizabeth: I'll tell Maxie that you wish you could be there. No one will think worse of you.

Nikolas: I'll have Elizabeth back as soon as it's over, ok?

Elizabeth: Ok. I love you.

Jax: It's a nice view from back here.

Carly: Hey.

Jax: Hey.

Carly: I was just leaving you a note.

Jax: Really?

Carly: Yes.

Jax: Well, now you can tell me in person.

Carly: Yes --

Jax: Wait, wait, you weren't canceling our date tonight, were you?

Carly: What -- no, no. I just came from seeing your son and I am blown away. I walked in that room and I was cranky and I was tired and sleep-deprived -- because of you, by the way -- and John looked up at me and he smiled.

Jax: Really?

Carly: Yes, he smiled this -- this all-gorgeous gum grin, and it was amazing and my heart melted, and you know what? He recognized me, he really recognized me. I just think about how weak he was, and now he's strong and he's alert and he's curious -- it's amazing.

Jax: You know, Dr. O’Donnell said he's getting close to being released.

Carly: I know. That's why you're going to have to make a decision about that house next door to me.

Jax: Well, I'm starting to see the advantages.

Ric: So I understand you and Jason clashed at the PCPD last night.

Sonny: Well, we had words.

Ric: Yeah, apparently enough for you to want to hold him overnight.

Sonny: Well, you know, he needed time to cool off. He went off the rails a little bit.

Ric: Yeah -- about Emily, huh? Sorry, it's none of my business.

Sonny: Well, you know, it's nobody's business, but everybody's talking about it.

Ric: I just thought you might need some, you know, emotional support from somebody who thinks you deserve some kind of happiness.

Sonny: I appreciate your concern, I'll be fine.

Ric: You know Jason isn't going to budge on this, Sonny.

Sonny: What are you doing here, Ric?

Ric: I don't know. I'm not really sure. I just thought maybe you might need me. At least you know you can trust me as much as I can trust you.

Sonny: So -- what do you want? You want to represent me as my lawyer? You want to give me advice on my personal life? You might as well, because you know what? Everybody else has a damn opinion. You want to be my hit man? We tried that. Didn't work, but -- I don't know what it is that you're offering, or what you think you can do for me, Ric.

Ric: You know, I'm not the one you want to go off on this time.

Emily: I didn't know you had company. I'm sorry.

Jason: This is my sister, Emily Quartermaine. Bernie Abrams, my accountant.

Bernie: How do you do?

Jason: Bernie and I just actually finished. Handle everything like we discussed, please, Bernie? Thank you.

Bernie: Pleasure to meet you.

Emily: I almost broke up with Sonny last night.

Jason: What's "almost"?

Emily: You have all these reasons why I can't be with Sonny. I hear you, Jason, and I know you're completely sincere. But in the end, I couldn't walk away from Sonny. I love him.

[Jason sighs]

Emily: I refuse to live a lie, and I can believe that you of all people would expect me to. So while I'm sure you think you have perfectly good reasons for trying to run my life, I'm here to tell you Sonny and I are together, and there's nothing that anyone can do to stop it.

Jason: Do what you got to do, Emily. So will I.

(Dramatic music playing)

Emily: You scare me when you're like this, when you shut down so that I can't reach you.

Jason: You made a choice.

Emily: I've seen you do this to other people before, and I always took your side. I always told myself that they asked for it. And I know -- I knew that my brother Jason could never look at me the way you are right now, like I'm not here, like you don't know me and you don't want to.

Jason: You and Sonny know where I stand. The only thing that matters to me now is protecting you.

Emily: What? What are you planning to do?

Jason: It's already done.

Emily: What have you done?

Jason: I got work to do, Emily. Come on.

Emily: Tell me what you've done, Jason!

Jason: Just leave. You need to leave.

Sonny: I know you came here with good intentions, Ric, but you don't have a clear picture of what's going on.

Ric: Well, why don't you fill me in?

Sonny: Jason's mad as hell. It's going to be a while before he accepts me with Emily. Until then, I want to deal with, you know, just business. It's not perfect, but it's the way it's got to be.

Ric: Mm-hmm. You think that he can separate the two?

Sonny: He's a professional, Ric.

Ric: Well, Emily is his sister. How does he overlook that, Sonny? It puts you in a very high-risk situation.

Sonny: I appre-- I appreciate your concern. You got nothing to worry about. There will not be a war.

Lulu: Hi.

Lucky: Hey, Lu. How you -- how you doing?

Luke: So your sister tells me you fell off your blocks playing hero.

Lucky: I'm glad you're here. I need to ask you a favor. I need to go to Jesse’s funeral.

Luke: So you want to risk paralysis to stand over a hole in the ground with a bunch of Port Chuck's finest for a dead guy who won't even know you're there?

Lucky: Dad, I know you don't think much of us. I know you just think we're a bunch of lazy, doughnut-eating cops, but -- that make you miserable. We're just -- we're a brotherhood. You of all people should understand loyalty, respect.

Luke: I understand what it's like to go into the trenches with somebody you care about and be the only one to come out. I understand what it's like to bury somebody who you think you're responsible for their death because you weren't on your game the way you should've been.

Lucky: Ok, then why are you fighting me?

Luke: Because I smell guilt. It's the most useless emotion you could possibly have.

Lucky: Jesse was my partner. I was there when he was shot. I should be there when he's buried.

Lorenzo: Hey. I thought you might come.

Diego: Yeah, well, Jesse was killed saving my life. I wanted to pay my respects.

Lorenzo: That's nice.

Diego: You ok?

Lorenzo: Didn't expect to see you.

Skye: I wanted to come -- for Diego. You're my baby's only sibling, Diego. Jesse saved your life. Whatever happens between your father and myself, I just want you to know that I want to honor that.

Diego: Thank you, Skye.

Lorenzo: Would you like to sit with us?

Lucas: Hey.

Guy: Hi.

Lucas: Didn't -- didn't realize you knew Jesse so well.

Guy: Detective Beaudry was one of the good guys. If it wasn't for him, that pig, Frank, would still be on the street beating up gay men and getting away with it. Besides, he was a friend of yours, right? I just -- I wanted to say how sorry I was for your loss.

John: Thanks for coming.

Justus: We lost a good man. I'm sorry.

Lainey: Yeah, he'd been through so many tough times and he was a very compassionate person.

John: Yeah. Yes, he touched us all. Excuse me.

Elizabeth: Mr. Durant.

John: How's Lucky doing?

Elizabeth: It's really difficult for him not to be here.

Maxie: I hope they put the picture in there with you, Jesse. I don't want you to be alone.

Chaplain: If we could all read the 23rd psalm together. "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul."

John: Thank you, chaplain. That was moving. I've asked Commissioner Scorpio if I could say a few words on behalf of Port Charles' finest. I just wanted to say a few things about the young man that we're here honoring today -- Detective Jesse Beaudry. He was never one to run away from a dangerous situation. In fact, if there was trouble, he was probably the first one to step in. He knew what was good, he knew what was moral, and that became his foundation, even in the face of terrible odds. During the time of the Glencoe Tunnel accident when the two trains collided and the mountain almost fell in, he was the first one to go in, the first one to help the survivors. When young women were being drugged on campus, Detective Beaudry diligently went undercover to root out the suspect. When Detective Beaudry was very young, his brother died in his arms, a victim of gang violence. And I believe it was at that exact moment, in that tragedy, that set Detective Beaudry down a path that ultimately led him to this honorable profession where he has done good work, and what he has done he has done well. Ironically, that brave journey was cut short by that very same violence. Detective Beaudry’s life ended by a single bullet fired during a mob war -- the very evil which he had committed his life to fight against.

Elizabeth: You shouldn't have done this.

Lucky: I had to.

John: Detective Beaudry’s partner was wounded yesterday pursuing a dangerous criminal. Officer Lucky Spencer went through painful surgery, and yet he joins us today in a display of courage that would make his partner proud.

Jason: No, I want you to call the Puerto Rican partners and tell them nothing is going to change. I don't want anyone getting the idea that we're suddenly vulnerable.

[Knock on door]

Jason: So -- ok, listen, just tell them I'm going to call them all personally tomorrow, ok? Thanks.

Michael: Hey.

Jason: Whoa!

[Carly laughs]

Jason: What's up? Hi, bud.

Michael: You surprised to see us?

Jason: Uh -- yeah. Nobody told me that you guys were coming by today.

Michael: Well, duh, because that's kind of what makes it a surprise.

Jason: Oh, really?

Carly: That's right. Aren't we lucky that Jason’s here? Now he can come with us on our picnic. Mm-hmm.

Sonny: Hey.

Emily: Hey.

Sonny: Did you see Jason?

Emily: Yeah. I thought I could get through to him.

Sonny: Why would it be different this time?

Emily: It was different -- it was worse. He acts like I'm a stranger, and I know it's just a defense mechanism, but it scares me when he shuts down like this. I can't tell what he's thinking.

Sonny: You've got to give him -- you've got to give him some room.

Emily: I know, but when he looks at me, it's like my brother's vanished.

Sonny: Ok, listen to me, all right? I'm not dealing with this. If Jason wants to shut me out, that's fine, but I will not let him make you unhappy. He's over the line, I won't stand for it.

Emily: Wait, Sonny, don't! Please.

[Music plays]

Emily: This is my worst nightmare. It's exactly what Carly said would happen -- the two men that I love most in the world are fighting because of me.

Sonny: I will not let Jason punish you, Emily.

Emily: I just have to figure out how not to let it bother me, and so do you. We just have to let it go and give Jason some time to come to his senses.

Sonny: Oh, ok. So then, you know, Jason’s allowed to disrespect you? You've done nothing wrong. You don't deserve this abuse from Jason. I love you. I will not let you be hurt.

Emily: That look now in your eyes -- that's the same look that Jason had. If you love me, if you want to protect me, then don't fight with Jason.

Sonny: It's already too late. Things have progressed to the point of no return. I don't know what else to do. I'm going to go.

Emily: No -- then take me away.

Michael: Well, it kind of has a life of its own -- it sort of took off by itself.

Carly: Why don't you tell him how it really happened?

Michael: Ok. It crash-landed after it broke a lot of stuff, and we had to pay for it with our own money -- $7.03.

Jason: Seven bucks -- that's a lot of money.

Michael: Well, actually, it was pretty cool.

Carly: Michael.

Michael: Ok, it wrecked the helicopter and the house. Dad got us a new one, and we haven't even flown this --

Jason: You got some -- what do you got? You need -- yeah, you got some batteries here?

Michael: Yes, I do.

Jason: Ok, and you know you're not supposed to play with toys in the house except --

Michael: Except video games and puzzles.

Jason: That's right. All right, you think -- you think you can handle this on your own?

Michael: Will you watch me?

Jason: Yeah, go on. I'll be right here.

Carly: Is there something you want to say to your Uncle Jason?

Michael: Cool. You're the best uncle ever.

Jason: You're pretty cool yourself.

[Jason sighs]

Jason: I know what you're doing, but it's not going to work.

Officer: Rifle squad, attention! Port on! Left, right, face! Ready -- fire!

Officer: Fire!

Officer: Fire!

Officer: Half, left, face! Sir? Request permission to fold the flag.

Mac: Carry on.

Officer: Uniform personnel, present arms! Flag detail. Fold the flag.

["Taps" plays]

Officer: On behalf of a grateful community, country, department, please accept this flag in honor of Detective Beaudry’s heroism.

Officer: Sir? Request permission for final pass and review.

Mac: Proceed.

Officer: Uniform personnel, make your way for final pass and review.

[Bagpipers play "amazing grace"]

Carly: Ok, you listen to me, I know that you're furious and I know you're mad as hell. Sonny is being a selfish jerk, but anything you do about it is going to hurt Michael and Morgan. And I know how much you love them and I know the lengths you will go to to protect them, Jason.

Jason: I would never hurt them.

Carly: Then don't start now. Don't try to come between Sonny and Emily, ok? He's not going to stand for it. You know he won’t. Come on, Jason, this is vintage Sonny. Let Sonny and Emily take the ride. When they crash and burn -- and they will -- they will have hurt no one but themselves. They'll survive -- hell, we all do. But for Michael and Morgan’s sake, please do not do anything --

Jason: I would never do anything to hurt the boys. But you're right, this is vintage. Vintage Sonny, but the difference is it's my sister. Sonny is distracted, Carly. Something's going on with the business you don't even know about. That's why I need to handle this now before it goes any further.

Carly: You didn't hear anything I said?

Jason: I heard! I just know what I have to do. All right, just tell the boys that I have an appointment and I'll see them later.

Carly: Jason --

Jason: I got to go.

Emily: Take me to the island, Sonny.

Sonny: The island? What are you talking about?

Emily: I know it has a lot of memories for you, but I have to experience it eventually. I want you to buy me a dress. Teach me how to play roulette. Rig it so that I can win. By the time I'm done, you're going to be saying, "What other women?"

Sonny: I always do.

Emily: I mean it. Sonny, I want us to go.

Sonny: The trouble with Jason is still going to be there, Emily. I mean, we're just delaying the inevitable.

Emily: I'm a big believer in the ability of time to heal anything.

Sonny: Oh --

Emily: This delay might be exactly what we need to stop someone from doing something in the heat of anger. It's our own time-out. It's a -- an adult cooling-off period.

Sonny: You know, I love that you always think positive, but sometimes you're not realistic.

Emily: We have to make it real. Because the worst thing that I can imagine is for you and Jason to be at each other's throats, to lose your friendship because of me. Take me away, Sonny, please.

Guy: I'm really sorry for your loss.

Maxie: Thanks for coming, Guy. Jesse would really be pleased.

Guy: Of course.

Lucas: Hey, Guy? I'm glad you made it. It was really -- it was nice for -- for Maxie.

Guy: Well, she's going to need all the friends she can get right now.

Lucas: She knows she can always count on me.

Guy: Well, I -- uh --

Lucas: Yeah.

Guy: I should -- I should go.

Lucas: Yeah.

Guy: Hey, Lucas? A couple of weeks ago, you asked me if we could get a cup of coffee and -- well, if the offer still stands, give me a call. I'll see you.

Mac: In all my years on the force, I've never once opened up a cop's personnel file, looked at the next-of-kin line, and found absolutely nothing. Jesse was lucky to have you -- and Maxie, all his friends.

Lucky: I was supposed to have his back.

Mac: But you know how it is. Sometimes the bad guys win. But you don't give up until you have no other choice. That's why Jesse would want you to have these.

Georgie: Come on, Maxie, I'll take you home.

Maxie: You go ahead. I want to wait here for a little bit.

Georgie: I don't want to leave you alone.

Maxie: Georgie, it's ok.

Georgie: Ok.

Skye: Thank you, Lorenzo, for asking me to sit with you. It wasn't easy today. Bagpipes always make me cry.

Lorenzo: Yeah, it was a tough day for everyone. Seeing what Maxie’s going through kind of makes you think about your own time on this earth and what's important to you. I want to be a part of your life, Skye, not only because of our baby.

Skye: I want that, too. But I want to do what's best for the interest of this child.

Lorenzo: Well, I can promise you that things will be different. I'm already setting things in motion.

Skye: I don't think I've ever known a man who tried to change for a woman who didn't end up with a boatload of regrets.

Lorenzo: My only regret would be losing you and our baby. I have spent a lot of time thinking about what matters to me most, and it's you and this baby and Diego. I don't want to lose any of you. And I'm just telling you right now, I'm not ready to let you walk out of my life without a fight.

Skye: I don't want to walk away, even though common sense is telling me that I should. Then again, I don't think I'd know common sense if it turned around and bit me.

Lorenzo: Hmm.

Alice: Your martini, Mr. Luke. Are you in the mood for one olive or two?

Luke: No olives -- they take up too much room.

Tracy: If that's my worthless husband, I need to see him now.

Luke: As if this day could get any worse.

Luke: I thought you'd come to your senses over this empty suit.

Skye: Lorenzo and I believe that we can overcome our differences. We're together and we're happy. Luke, I really wish you'd find some joy in your life. Makes all the difference.

Luke: Joy, huh? I'll keep an eye out for it.

Tracy: Oh, Alice, you take up so much room! Do you know what this is? This is a bill for the caulking on your pitiful boat. Apparently you thought you could stick me with it. Want to know where I'm going to stick it?

Luke: Marry me.

Tracy: We're already married.

[Tracy squeals]

Tracy: Whew.

Luke: My precious, pretty little pink Popsicle --

[Tracy sighs]

Luke: I want to renew our vows.

Tracy: Why would you want to do that?

Lucky: Don't be mad at me.

Elizabeth: I'm not mad. I'm just worried, worried that you're going to make it worse.

Lucky: No, I had to be there. I'd never forgive myself --

Nikolas: He's back in one piece. I promise you he won't get out of this bed without a doctor's permission.

Elizabeth: Ok. I'm going to go find a doctor to check you out.

[Door closes]

Nikolas: I get why you did it, Lucky. But I understand what Elizabeth is saying.

Lucky: Just go after her, Nikolas. Tell her I'll be fine.

Nikolas: Even if that's a lie?

Lucky: It's not a lie. I'll be back to myself in no time.

Nikolas: All right.

Lulu: Are you here to see Georgie?

Diego: No. I'm here to pay my respects.

Lulu: Jesse thought you were scum, and you didn't think much better of him, so cut the bull. You're here because you wanted to comfort Georgie and be her shoulder to cry on in this very terrible time.

Diego: Look, you have no idea what me and --

Lulu: No, I know plenty, all right? I know about all those letters that you sent her from prison and how you'd love nothing more than to get her away from Dillon? Why don't you just leave them alone? Why do you got to come in their lives and try to disrupt every --

Georgie: Hey! Hey! Stay out of my business!

Maxie: Champagne, please, the good stuff.

Bartender: People always want the good stuff when they're celebrating. What are you drinking to?

Maxie: To honor.

Michael: The helicopter crashed, but it wasn't our fault. I mean, we were trying to be careful.

Carly: It's ok, I'm -- oh, I'm sorry about your helicopter, and I love you guys so much. So much.

Jax: Hey. What's wrong?

Carly: Uh --

Morgan: The helicopter --

Carly: Helicopter broke.

Michael: I don't even want a new one.

Jax: Well, did you know that I'm a helicopter pilot? Maybe I can fix it. You know, with a little time and patience, anything can be fixed.

Sonny: You were right about getting away. Carly has the kids. I can still be in touch, you know, while everything settles. When we get home, I'll -- I'll sort everything out.

Emily: I like that plan.

Sonny: At least no one's done anything they can't take back.

Max: Hey, Jason --

Jason: Stay out of the way, Max.

Jason: This won't take long.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Luke: What are you doing here?

Robert: I have been entrusted to bring you into custody.

Tracy: My husband's not going anywhere.

Nikolas: Card this girl next time -- she's underage.

Maxie: One or two drinks isn't going to corrupt me forever.

Jason: Sonny can't know about this until it's done.

Max: You're like his brother. How could you do this to him?
