Carly: Wow. So much for your generous offer to watch the boys. You smug, arrogant jerk --
Jax: No. Hold on, there's no need for name-calling.
Carly: Who do you think you are testing me?
Jax: I'm just testing the waters. Just --
Carly: No, no, let me tell you something. Sonny is my kids' father, so if I want to go down there and bail him out or pick up the phone and call to make sure he's ok, that's family business, not yours. It's not funny. You know, this just feels way too familiar. I've been in too many relationships where I've been tested and I'm sick of it. It is past time that I am with a man who takes me as I am and trusts me, and you know what? I can think of a few right off the top of my head.
Patrick: I've scheduled Dr. McCane for my liver surgery and Dr. Ellis for my father's transplant. Tell them to be ready within the hour.
Robin: If you have any second thoughts, now's the time.
Epiphany: Sneed from administration called. We have a problem.
Patrick: Let's solve it.
Epiphany: You need a signature on your psych evaluation form. Without it, the hospital can't authorize surgery.
Patrick: Ok, we're going to have to skip the formalities because we don't have time.
Epiphany: No signature, no transplant.
Luke: Let me see if I've got this straight. You say Alcazar switched my daughter's chart with Skye’s to cheat her out of medicine that could've saved her life, medicine that was made from sucking my blood?
Manny: Pretty cold, huh? What are you going to do about it?
Luke: I know what you'd like me to do. You'd like me to find the son of a bitch and kill him.
Lucky: If I'd just waited another second, just long enough for Jesse to draw his weapon, I -- he'd still be alive.
Elizabeth: Hey, you don't know that.
Lucky: No, I'm sure of that.
Elizabeth: You did not leave him out in the open.
Nikolas: You were just trying to stop the shooter, Lucky, that's all.
Elizabeth: And you saved Diego’s life.
Lucky: No, I didn't watch Jesse’s back. Instead, I left him in the line of fire, no cover. I don't even deserve to wear this badge.
John: Go in there and uncuff Morgan.
Det. Rodriguez: Why?
John: Because I told you to.
Sonny: Come on, I'm getting you out of here.
John: Uh, sorry. Mrs. Cassadine -- oh, excuse me -- Miss Quartermaine, you're free to go anywhere you want. You, on the other hand, are going nowhere.
Sonny: Nikolas? I hate to ask you for anything else, but I know I can count on you because we both want the same thing.
Jax: Well, I'm sorry that you're offended. But self-preservation has become a priority for me, as well. See, I was on the losing end of a relationship that happened to involve Sonny and it's not something I care to revisit, so if I throw out the occasional feeler, or test, if you want to call it that, then sue me.
Carly: Ok, I'm not feeling any better here.
Jax: You're expecting an apology?
Jax: Wow. Then you're going to be even more disappointed than you already are, especially considering the fact that you are the worst, most constant offender.
Carly: Explain that, please.
Jax: You take vacations from Sonny.
Carly: Oh, my God.
Jax: Ok, some last a little longer than others, but eventually, inevitably, you always snap back like you're on this big bungee cord or something.
Carly: Would you take a look around at this house? Do you see my things? This is not a vacation.
Jax: Come on, Carly. You've moved out from Sonny before. And you only ever stay away long enough to, you know, make things interesting again, spice things up a little. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not going to be your pit stop between the last time you were with Sonny and the next.
Carly: You're right. Yeah, I mean, it would not be fair to use you that way. I'll just use Patrick Drake instead.
Patrick: What part of "mMy father is out of time" don't you understand? I'm not going to waste a minute tracking down a shrink for a signature.
Epiphany: You can be as overbearing and Dr. God-like as you want. It won't help get your father a liver. A signed psych evaluation will.
Robin: Epiphany's right, Patrick. There's a protocol in place.
Patrick: What, to protect the hospital and your backsides when my father slips away?
Epiphany: I'm no fan of Iris Sneed, but she's right about this. The rules are there to protect you, to make sure you are not making any decision under duress.
Patrick: Are you questioning my mental stability?
Epiphany: Don't cloud the issue. It does not work with me.
Robin: Hey. Don't do that.
Manny: I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do, Mr. Spencer, but if it were my daughter and some bastard tried to kill her, I probably --
Luke: Do you know my daughter?
Manny: No, I don’t.
Luke: You don't know my daughter; you don't know me. You're a concerned citizen, right? I know your motives -- they're clear. You've got enemies. Alcazar is one of them. Naturally, you'd like to get rid of him without having to dirty your hands. What makes you think that I would believe you?
Manny: Don’t. Just ask your daughter-in-law.
Manny: She knows. See, Elizabeth is a very diligent nurse, man. She noticed the charts had been switched. She's also very brave because she confronted Alcazar and he couldn't deny it.
Luke: And you know this how?
Manny: You work as a janitor, sometimes you hear things. People don't tend to see you, so they speak freely. Listen, in case you're wondering, the reason I came here with the truth is because if the positions were reversed, I'd want you to tell me. Now, Alcazar -- he made a decision he had no business making to let your kid die so his lady could live. Now, that's a fact. You do with it what you will, man.
Skye's voice: It's Skye. I can't get to the phone right now, so leave a message and I'll call you when I can.
[Answering machine beeps]
Lorenzo: Hey. It's me. I know you're angry about what I did, but let's not leave things this way. It's not fair to our child. Call me and let's work things out.
Alan: Oh, I had a long, brutal day.
Monica: Oh. Seems to be happening a lot lately.
Alan: I just want a nice, quiet evening at home.
Alice: That sounds delightful and well-deserved. I mean, you doctors have really been working double time these past few weeks. I got it -- why don't I make you a lovely pot of chamomile tea? It'll help relax you you know, it's important to not only stop and smell the roses, but to simply breathe in the air.
Alan: Alice, what are you talking about?
Monica: Well, whatever it is, I think we're going to need something a little stronger than chamomile tea.
Alan: Come on, let's have it.
Monica: Go on, just say it, straight out.
Alice: Come on, these are stressful times. I mean, everybody's run, run, running all the time, trying to catch up. I mean, just take a moment and breathe.
Alan: Stop with the breathing already.
Monica: Just tell us what Tracy has done now.
Tracy: Oh, it's not me. It's your darling daughter Emily, the fallen angel.
Alan: What nonsense are you spouting now?
Tracy: You haven't heard? She was plastered all over the evening news. She was caught in a shootout -- the second one this week I believe -- and where? In a hotel room, with her boyfriend, Sonny Corinthos.
Emily: I just need a second. I'll be fine.
Sonny: You don't realize what's waiting for you out there. The press is swarming. I know how you feel about me right now, Nikolas, but could you drive her home?
Nikolas: I'll do it for her.
Emily: Thank you, Nikolas. Can you excuse us for a second? Sonny. I saw the way you looked at Jason. You have to promise me that you're going to leave him alone. I don't want any trouble between you. He's furious enough as it is.
Sonny: This is just like you, worrying about everybody else after what you went through tonight. I hate what happened.
Emily: You had no idea that some guy was going to come in and start shooting like he did.
Sonny: But I should have!
Emily: Don't beat yourself up. We're ok -- that's what matters.
Sonny: Shh. Listen to me. Listen to me. Let Nikolas drive you home, ok? Hey, hey. I will call you later. Everything's going to be fine.
Sonny: You want to hit me, go ahead. Hit me. I'm right here.
Mac: Ok, we're going to concentrate in this area right up here.
Lucky: Mac, I need to speak with you.
Mac: Lucky, you should be in on this. We're tracking Jesse’s shooter.
Lucky: You do it without me. I'm resigning from the force effective immediately.
Jason: We're not going to discuss this here. You remember that much about how we work, right?
Sonny: This isn't about business, Jason. You deliberately hurt Emily to get to me.
John: Well, it's rolling out exactly as I anticipated. I hope you're taking notes. Is there a problem?
Jason: I'm finished with my visitor.
John: Are you sure? You can have as much time as you want.
Jason: I said I'm finished.
Sonny: Fine by me. I'm out of here. You want to arrest me? Go ahead.
Sam: Hey. You're leaving?
Sam: Yeah? What about Jason?
Sonny: He just -- he's got to cool down.
Sam: So what's that supposed to mean, you're just going to leave him here?
Sonny: Maybe he should learn to be nicer to his sister.
John: Yeah, well, I can't say I'm surprised. I've seen it coming for a long, long time. Sonny treats you like something he scrapes off the bottom of his shoe, it's bound to get to you sooner or later, huh? All right, look, Jason, you don't like me. Guess what -- I don't like you, but we don't need a mutual admiration society to work together effectively. I know exactly what you want, Jason. And more importantly, I'm the only one that's going to help you get it.
Reporter: Mr. Corinthos, were you the one here with the woman?
Second reporter: Who was the woman?
First reporter: Who was the woman, Mr. Corinthos?
Second reporter: Emily Quartermaine, what were you doing with Sonny Corinthos?
Nikolas: Please, let us through. Let us through. No comment, please.
Reporter: Mr. Cassadine --
Alan: I can't believe what I'm seeing.
Monica: Well, at least Emily’s all right.
Alan: Are you insane? She is anything but all right. For God's sakes, she's in a hotel room with Sonny Corinthos.
Tracy: Don't forget about the shooting.
Monica: Ok, let's not hear the salacious details, ok?
Alan: This is my worst nightmare -- Sonny Corinthos, the bane of my existence, and my beautiful, innocent little girl.
Ned: Well, I think you missed a few beats, Alan. Emily is not a little girl anymore and she's definitely not as innocent as she appears.
Emily: How many?
Alice: A full house. I even threw Dillon and Lulu into the mix to fuel the dysfunction. They are so completely distracted with each other, you guys could just slip on upstairs and no one will be the wiser.
Emily: Thanks, Alice. You're a lifesaver.
Nikolas: No, no, no. Bring them out. We can deal with this head-on.
Emily: We do?
Carly: Wow, the more I think about it, the more I realize how right I am. I mean, Patrick would be perfect if I'm on a vacation from Sonny. You know, he has no history with Sonny, he has no jealousy issues, and he has no old axes to grind so, wow, he's perfect.
Jax: Yeah. Perfect. I mean, that could work out really well for you.
Jax: That is, of course, if you could walk away from me.
Carly: I could. Yeah -- in a minute, without even looking back.
Jax: I don't think so.
Carly: You want to watch me?
Jax: Do what? Come on, Carly. Come on, let's get serious here for a second. I am the best time you've had in years. Come on.
Carly: You give yourself way too much credit.
Carly: Yeah. I've had plenty of fun with lots of men.
Jax: Really? Like who?
Carly: Like, um --
Jax: As I said --
Carly: Ok, it's true.
Carly: You're a hell of a lot of fun.
Carly: And now you have to go.
Jax: Whoa, hold on -- hey, we're just making progress here. Hello.
Carly: Yeah, and the boys are here and you know the ground rules.
Jax: Right, right, of course. Ahem. On the D&L when the boys are involved.
Jax: Down low, low down.
Carly: You have to go.
Jax: Right. Maybe I'll call you later.
Carly: Maybe I'll answer.
Jax: See you later.
Patrick: Don't start. I'm not going to lose my father because some signature's missing on some stupid form.
Robin: Well, then stop wasting time. Shut up and let me sign it. Come on. Your chicken scratch isn't going to fool anyone. I can match Lainey’s signature better than you can.
Patrick: Robin, this is forgery. You can get in a lot of trouble for this.
Robin: You're welcome.
Patrick: Thank you.
Robin: Let's go.
Epiphany: Well, look at that. Lainey's signature on the dotted line, and so fast, too.
Patrick: Doesn't take long to scribble a name.
Epiphany: And she was standing right where you needed her to be at the exact moment you needed her to be there.
Epiphany: I'll say. Lainey was supposed to leave for a spa trip this morning.
Patrick: Like I said, some things just work out.
Patrick: My father's losing ground every minute we waste on this.
Epiphany: Why the hell are you two standing around? We got a liver to move.
Elizabeth: Luke. Something wrong?
Luke: You tell me. Did Alcazar switch charts between Lulu and Skye so that Skye would get the serum first?
Elizabeth: We were in the middle of an epidemic. The whole hospital was under quarantine. I --
Luke: I'm asking you to tell me something I don't know.
Elizabeth: I suppose in the midst of the chaos, charts could've gotten confused, mistakes made, but the important thing is that Lulu and Skye both survived.
Luke: Elizabeth, look at me. He did. I can see it in your eyes.
Elizabeth: Luke, it doesn't really matter now.
Luke: If it had been Cameron, would it have mattered?
Elizabeth: Oh. Luke, please, don't do anything stupid.
Patrick: I know why you're here.
Robin: To observe and bear witness.
Patrick: Right -- witness me with my shirt off out cold so I can't bust you for looking. Shame on you, Dr. Scorpio -- taking advantage of me in my weakened state.
Robin: Well, I wasn't going to, but now that you mention it --
Alice: Emily's home.
Monica: Oh, at least you're safe.
Alan: She's anything but. What were you thinking?
Tracy: Clearly, she wasn’t. Do you have any idea what you've done?
Ned: This coming from the woman who married Luke Spencer.
Ned: No offense.
Dillon: Guys -- um -- bottom line, she's a grown woman. Doesn't really matter what we think. She can do whatever she wants.
Alan: Did anybody ask you? At least you're back with Nikolas. He's certainly the lesser of two evils.
Emily: Chime in anytime.
Skye: Has it occurred to anyone to let Emily speak?
Tracy: What could she possibly say? There she was, for the whole world to see.
Nikolas: Ok, quiet. God. You've had your say. Now, that's the end of it. The press has been berating Emily all night. Ok? It's enough. She just needs some privacy. She doesn't need the stress right now.
Tracy: Stress? Why is stress an issue? Oh, no. Oh, don't tell me! You're pregnant, too?
TV announcer: The shooting took place on the 10th floor of the Cosmopolitan Hotel shortly after 7:30 P.M. Corinthos was registered under the name of John Smith and was meeting with a woman who has been identified as Emily Quartermaine, granddaughter of prominent financier Edward Quartermaine.
[Turns TV off]
[Knock on door]
Carly: Come on in. Pull up a chair. I was just watching Emily’s television debut. Her perp walk needs work, you know?
Sonny: I wanted to tell you myself.
Carly: Really? Little late. But you know what? I'm not the one you should be worried about. You should be worried about your boys.
Sonny: What does that mean?
Carly: I found Michael and Morgan glued to the TV, mesmerized at the sight of their dad with Auntie Em. And I can't tell you what an interesting challenge it was trying to explain to Michael what happened.
John: All right, let's call it like it is. Your best friend seduced your little sister and then he promptly almost got her killed -- Sonny's usual pattern with women, only this time it's gotten personal for you, hasn't it, Jason? My God, you've been nothing but loyal to the man, and how does he repay you? He goes after your little sister. He goes after Emily, and I'm sure it's after you begged him not to. Sonny Corinthos -- I'll tell you, the dude is a piece of work. I don't know about you, but if I were in your place, I would do whatever it takes to protect my little sister.
Jason: I've got nothing to say to you without my lawyer. Do you understand that?
John: Well, your lawyer's on his way, but I want you to think about this, my friend, while you're waiting for your lawyer. With Sonny in jail, away from Emily, there is nothing that that man can do to hurt your little sister. Am I right about this?
Sam: You're wasting your time, Durant. Jason is not going to betray Sonny.
John: No man can fault another man for trying to protect his family -- not even Sonny.
[Door opens and closes]
Sam: Could he be any more obvious?
Jason: Durant may be trying to work the situation, but everything he said -- is true.
Mac: If you want to walk away from everything you've worked so hard for, I can't stop you. But I'm asking you to take some time. You just lost your partner. It's natural to question your actions. But for what it's worth, I'm telling you, Lucky, you're not the reason Jesse died.
Sam: I get that you're angry. You have every right to be, Jason. I watched the news. I saw how the press treated your sister. But you and I both know that -- forget it.
Jason: Finish. Know what?
Sam: No, you're not going to like what I have to say.
Jason: Well, just say it. Just say it anyway.
Sam: We both know why Sonny and Emily were meeting in secret!
Sam: Because you wouldn't accept them. Your attitude pushed them into hiding, and I think you're angry because you know that this is partly your fault.
Emily: Not that it's any of your business, Tracy, but I'm not pregnant, and I have no intention of getting pregnant by Sonny or anyone else. But I am in love with him.
Alan: No, you're not, Emily. You can't be. You were in love with Nikolas; that was real. You can get it back.
Emily: Help me out here, Nikolas. Tell him how wrong he is.
Nikolas: I won't deny it. I still love you.
Nurse: Drake Sr. is prepped in O.R. two, ready to go.
Doctor: I can't figure why Patrick agreed to this, considering what Noah did to his own liver.
Robin: I don't think your opinion is particularly relevant here, do you?
Doctor: Hmm. Touché, Dr. Scorpio. And here we go.
Epiphany: B.P. is dropping to 80/50. We're losing him.
Robin: Open up a lactate. Mix up a dopamine drip to get his systolic over 100. Patrick's not going to die.
Robin: Cautery. Suction. He's back.
Robin: All right, close him up.
Nurse: They've started Dr. Drake's transplant.
Robin: You asked before why Patrick would agree to do the surgery? There's only one reason -- deep and abiding love.
Nikolas: My love for Emily is a constant. But loving her means wanting her to have whatever she needs to be happy. If that's Sonny, then that's who she needs to be with.
Lulu: Do you have your listening ears on, people? That's what we should all want, is for Emily to be happy.
Nikolas: And as Dillon already pointed out, she's a grown woman, which means she gets to live her life any way she chooses, whether any of you approve of it or not. So if you can't find it within yourselves to support her, at least have the grace to accept her right to choose her own path. If that's still not motivation enough for you, try this. Any of you interfere with her, or whatever she wants to do, you deal with me. Now, please leave us.
Alan: Who are you, Stefan arisen from the dead? You can't order us around our own house.
Alice: Well, he just did. Now, come on, everybody, get out. Come on, move it.
Alan: Alice, you're on thin ice.
Sonny: Why were the kids watching the news?
Carly: Oh, "We interrupt this program."
Sonny: How much did they see? What did you tell them?
Sonny: Don't even bother because I know you probably trashed Emily, so --
Carly: Excuse me, I covered for your butt. I told those boys that you're a powerful man, and the press make up stories about you because they don't know the facts. Now, Michael bought it mainly because nothing else made sense to him. "I mean, Emily can't be dad's girlfriend. She's our aunt, right?"
Sonny: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed the worst. I'm just --
Carly: The worst about me.
Sonny: No, I -- about you, yeah. I mean, I appreciate -- I really do, I appreciate what you did. And I think now it's time for me to stop lying to my children, got to tell the truth about me and Emily.
Michael: Hey, dad?
Sonny: What's up?
Michael: We saw the news story on TV and mom tried to explain it, but I still don't understand. What's a love nest?
Alexis: Why is there a motion for continuance on the -- on the Russo case?
John: I'm a little busy here right now.
Alexis: I understand that she's not as glamorous as Jason --
John: Could you excuse me for a moment?
Alexis: No, I will not.
John: Rodriguez? Rodriguez? Could you put the cuffs back on Morgan, please?
Jason: Sonny made Emily a target, Sam. He knew there was danger, he knew the situation was bad and getting worse, but he took her off anyway, alone -- no guards, no regard for my sister and her safety! He put what he wanted before my sister's life. I'm supposed to just turn my head? I'm supposed to just forgive him? He almost killed her!
Jason: Justus, it's about time!
Sam: I'll talk to him.
Jason: Just get me out of here!
Det. Rodriguez: Durant said you had your chance.
Justus: I'll have Jason out of here in no time. They have absolutely nothing to hold him on.
Sam: I'm worried, Justus. Jason is about to explode. Right now he's sitting on a lot of rage, it's directed towards Sonny, and God knows what'll happen if he does.
Justus: What are you saying, Sam?
Sam: Well, you know, Sonny -- Sonny and I kind of both agreed. Maybe it's best if Jason sits in here overnight and cools off a little bit.
Justus: You want me to leave him in lockup?
Sam: Trust me. I wouldn't ask if I didn't think it was best for him.
Sam: Thank you.
Jason: Where's Justus going?
Sam: I sent him away.
Luke: It's not there. Somebody moved it. Don't bother to call the goons. They're all tied up at the moment.
Lorenzo: You know.
Luke: I understand you switched a couple of charts during the epidemic. One of them was my daughter’s.
Lorenzo: It's true.
Luke: I'm curious -- did you give it any thought at all? Did you think about the 17-year-old kid you were condemning to death, or did it matter because she was mine?
Lorenzo: I'm not proud of what I did. I agonized over it. I still do. Put yourself in my place -- the woman you love or someone else's child -- and would you have handled it differently?
Luke: I don't have to agonize over it -- it isn't a choice I had to make -- however, it was my kid that you were playing God with. You have to answer to that.
Skye: Luke! No! What's going on?
Lorenzo: Luke found out about the charts. He was about to kill me.
Skye: Oh, I don't believe that.
Luke: Apparently, you don't know me as well as you thought you did.
Skye: I do know you, and I know you would've made the same decision that Lorenzo made.
Luke: I've heard this argument, it doesn't wash.
Skye: You loved me once, Luke.
Luke: My feelings didn't change.
Skye: Well, then do it for me, ok, out of deference to what we shared. Lorenzo is the father of my child, a child that I never thought I'd be able to conceive. I need him. Don't take him away from me. I'm not excusing what he did. I'm furious about it myself, but in the end, no harm was done. Lulu -- Lulu's thriving. She's back to her old self as if nothing happened. Luke, please. I'm begging you; just let this one go, ok, for me.
Luke: Be grateful to this woman; be good to her. She's the only reason you haven't got a bullet in your chest.
Lorenzo: Thank you.
Skye: No, don't touch me, ok? I didn't go out on the line with Luke for you. I did it for our baby.
Lorenzo: Don't leave things this way.
Elizabeth: I'm so glad you're home. I've been worried sick about you. Are you ok?
Lucky: I quit the force.
Elizabeth: Good. I've been thinking that's exactly what you should do.
Robin: Still no word on how Noah’s transplant is going?
Epiphany: It'll probably be a while before we hear anything. You stepped in and saved Patrick’s life. He's not going to like owing you.
Robin: Well, I don't think he will see it that way. He thinks he's invincible.
Epiphany: Nothing wrong with that.
Robin: No, nothing at all.
Emily: When you said you were going to confront my family, I almost freaked, but you were right. It was better to face them head-on. I'm sorry that you had to hear all about Sonny.
Nikolas: I meant what I said about wanting you to be happy. If you do love Sonny, be with him. Just be careful, ok? I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you.
Sonny: I know that -- ahem -- you've got a lot of questions about tonight. I'm going to try to answer them. Uh -- Emily and I, we're -- we went out, ok, and there was a bad man who wanted to hurt us, and he found out where we were. And luckily Jason was there and he protected us.
Michael: That's his job.
Carly: And he's good at it.
Sonny: And then the press found out that there was a disturbance, so they came by and they asked me a lot of questions, so I -- I didn't want to talk to them. So they made up a whole story and, you know, that's why I don't like you watching TV and the news and --
Michael: Well, we know that reporters make stuff up -- mom told me.
Michael: But, anyway, you can't be boyfriend/girlfriend with Emily. She's our aunt.
Carly: You know what the important thing is? Come here, boys. The important thing is, is that your dad, Emily, and Jason are safe, and that's what's important.
Sonny: Yeah, and, you know, we got Max and all the guards and everybody, and you guys, you know, are in no danger. You got nothing to worry about.
Michael: Ok, dad.
Alexis: My client has been held without bail for six months.
John: Your client has been charged with murder.
John: Yeah? Well, you're going to get your change to prove it when we go to court.
Alexis: In another three months.
John: What exactly do you want, Ms. Davis?
Alexis: I want you to stop paying attention to Sam and Jason and pay attention to me. You agreed to something, I want you to adhere to it, and look at me when I'm talking to you.
Jason: What do you mean, you sent him away?
Sam: I'm trying to protect you. You are so angry at Sonny; you dream about shooting him. I don't want you to do something you'll regret or, God forbid, make that dream come true.
Jason: Oh, what, are you acting on Sonny's orders now?
Sam: No, I am not acting on my orders! I happen to agree with him.
Jason: Why are you taking their side on this?
Sam: Jason, this isn't about taking sides!
Jason: I -- I just want you to leave, ok? I need to be alone.
Sam: Jason --
Jason: Get out!
Sam: I love you.
>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "General Hospital."
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Luke: I almost killed a man tonight.
Lulu: May I ask why?
Jason: I told you to go home.
Emily: I'm not going anywhere until you hear me out.
Alexis: I know that Jason got angry and took it out on you. You can get out; Kristina can't!
Sam: Do you ever give a thought to your other daughter?
