Nikolas: Now wouldn't Courtney be interested to know how the two of you have chosen to grieve her. I'm particularly touched by you, Carly, the way you choose to express your grief. I mean, your best friend has been dead, what, less than a month and here you are about to have sex with her baby's father?
Robin: You brought flowers.
Robin: That's very sweet of you.
Patrick: You look amazing.
Robin: You don't look so bad yourself. Come in.
Patrick: Well -- if your culinary skills are even close to your ability to set a mood, I'm in for a treat.
Robin: Well, actually, I didn't make dinner.
Patrick: I thought that was the point.
Robin: I figured why wait? Why do we need to waste any time? Which do you prefer -- the couch? The floor? Or just standing up?
Patrick: What has gotten into you?
Robin: I'm just trying to help you out. I mean, isn't there 100 bucks on the line if you get to nail the woman with H.I.V.?
Patrick: I'm not sure what's going on here.
Robin: What was I unclear about? You're the guy who's always up for a challenge, right? Hey, I have an idea -- why don't we up the ante and do it bareback? What's the matter? The risk of catching H.I.V. from me a little too much of a challenge for you?
Emily: I'm not opening my eyes until you kiss me.
Jason: Where exactly?
Sam: I hope Jason made it clear to you; I do not want Alexis to know I'm her daughter.
Sonny: Don't look at me. I'm not telling anybody.
Sam: Ok, I know this has got to be complicated for you, even weird --
Sonny: This is one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard. I don't even know how I'm going to look at Alexis, you know, knowing that I share a child and fathered her grandbaby.
Sam: I know, I know.
Sonny: Just even thinking about it makes me want to --
Sam: Oh, gosh.
Alexis: Hi. Sam. Sonny. Excuse me for interrupting, but I need to speak to you.
Sonny: Ok, I'm in the middle of something right now, ok? I'll call you later --
Alexis: All right. When you get a chance, it's important. It's about Kristina.
Sonny: Like I just said, Alexis, this is a real bad time. Can you just -- I'll call you later? I'm just finishing up right now.
Alexis: I appreciate that. How about if I wait by the car and we have this conversation sooner than later because it's really important.
Sam: Why can't you ever give people space? Why does it always have to be about you, what you want, what you need right away no matter what anyone else is trying to do? We're trying to have a conversation here.
Alexis: I'm sorry, Sam. Once again, I apologize profusely. I didn't mean to interrupt. It was about Kristina. I'll get back to you.
Sam: Right. That's -- that's right. Nothing's more earthshaking than your scary, undying love for your daughter. I'll talk to you later.
Sonny: All right.
Alexis: I understand her anger, I really do, and I understand that it's a function of her grief and I also understand that she needs to blame someone for the terrible pain that she's in and I'm the chosen target, but I got to tell you, in my gut, where I live, it's getting more than I can take.
Sonny: I thought you wanted to talk about Kristina, Alexis.
Alexis: I do, I do. I had a very dismaying conversation with Carly --
Alexis: Who felt that she should tell me that she was appointed legal guardian to Kristina. What were you thinking?
Sonny: You're surprised? We talked about this in November --
Alexis: We --
Sonny: During the train wreck, yeah, we --
Alexis: We absolutely did talk about it!
Alexis: You didn't hear apparently what I was screaming at you -- that I would rather have Attila the Hun be the legal guardian than Carly.
Sonny's voice: Who's Sam’s mother?
Jason's voice: Alexis Davis.
[Jason's voice echoes]
Alexis: Are you even listening to me?
Sonny: You know, I cannot deal with this at this moment in time. I said to you before I'll call you later.
Emily: Jason -- ahem.
Jason: I guess I'm not who you were expecting.
Emily: No. That would be Morgan. We -- we like to play Sleeping Beauty.
Jason: Morgan? Morgan likes to play Sleeping Beauty?
Emily: I know it doesn't rank up there with -- with video games, you know. In fact, I think he only does it to appease me --
Emily: That token girl stuff that they have to endure. Anyway, it doesn't last long. You know, Morgan comes downstairs and gives me a little kiss on the cheek and, huh, it's over.
Emily: Hey! There you are! Come down. I missed you so much. Hey. Oh.
Jax: How dare you come in here and pass judgment. You have no idea what's going on.
Nikolas: I know what I saw.
Jax: Let me ask you something. You announced your love for Courtney to anyone who would listen, including your own wife at the time. Now, you got in my face time and time again reminding me that I had no claim on Courtney, that she was in love with you and that she was over me, and I accepted that -- however grudgingly, but I accepted it. So explain to me -- by what stretch of imagination do I owe Courtney’s memory any fidelity whatsoever?
Nikolas: Ok. You -- you kept proclaiming your undying love for Courtney, Jax. You wouldn't leave her alone. Now, two minutes after her death, you're rolling around with Carly, which proves you never cared about her at all. You just wanted her baby. And now, by God, you've got him, don't you? And you're using him like one of your possessions, proved by the way you're trying to shut me out of his life.
Carly: Ok, you know what? The last time I checked, this was my house, and I want you out, now.
Jax: Nikolas got to you, didn't he?
Carly: He got to you, too.
Patrick: If we were to have sex, it wouldn't be unprotected. I'd use a latex condom and spermicidal jelly, and since your viral load is undetectable, the chances of me contracting H.I.V. are minimal.
Robin: Great -- you've done your homework. So what are we waiting for?
Patrick: No. It's not your medical status that's slowing me down. It's your unusual method of foreplay. Call me crazy, but it doesn't particularly turn me on to be badgered and accused the minute I walk in the door. Now, I don't know what's going on here, but you're obviously insulted or furious somehow that I'm here even though I was invited, so forgive me, but I'm going to pass on your little offer.
Robin: Oh, are you sure about that? I mean, there is 100 bucks on the line. I wouldn't want you to lose a bet.
Patrick: Ok, that's the second time you've mentioned $100. What are you talking about?
Robin: I heard you on the phone, Patrick. You bet someone $100 that you could get into bed with me. Well, you know what? You're going to have to pay up on that one because I wouldn't sleep with you if I was virus-free and you were the last man on earth. When I first met you, I thought you were the most shallow person I had ever met. I guess this just proves that first impressions are the most accurate.
Patrick: What happened to how nice you were being during the epidemic -- complimenting me on how I was taking care of things, worried about my lack of sleep?
Robin: Obviously, I was sick and delirious.
Patrick: No. Not when you reassured me about how I was dealing with my father.
Robin: Well, I guess you fooled me, then, didn't you? You do a reasonable impression of a human being with depth, maybe even a hint of a soul. But that's just surface. Patrick the surgeon is exactly all flash and technique. The very qualities that make it possible for you to cut into somebody's brain -- arrogance, lack of empathy, the inability to connect -- make you the soulless jerk that you truly are.
Patrick: I'm really sorry you heard my side of the conversation.
Robin: I bet you are.
Carly: I heard what you said to Nikolas. I want you to be honest with me. Do you feel like you were betraying Courtney?
Jax: No. Courtney and I were over, you know, and you and I are both free.
Carly: I know that, but knowing it and living it are two different things. Look, I am -- I am attracted to you, and that must be painfully obvious, but Courtney was my best friend. And if she were still here, the thought of being with you would've never crossed my mind, and I know it wouldn't have crossed yours, either.
Jax: Yeah, but Courtney’s gone, you know? Missing her is -- is part of what draws us together.
Carly: I know, and -- and I'm not saying that we're wrong for wanting to be together. I just think that we must not be 100% ok with it, or Nikolas wouldn't have made us stop and question it. Oh, Jax, as much as I want you right now -- and I do -- I don't want to be sorry later.
Jax: Ok. As long as you're saying "proceed with caution," I'll put on the brakes entirely.
Carly: That's what I'm saying.
Jax: Good. I think you're right, you know? Little John needs us both. If we decide -- or when we decide -- to take our friendship to the next level, we should be absolutely certain that there -- that there won't be any regrets. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Carly: You, too.
Jax: See you.
Elizabeth: Please don't tell me you're here to see John.
Nikolas: Why not? I know for a fact that Jax is not here, so there won't be any confrontation.
Elizabeth: I'm sorry.
Nikolas: "Sorry"? There's no need to be sorry, Elizabeth. All I want to do is spend a half-hour with Courtney’s son, that's it.
Elizabeth: And I'm telling you, you can’t.
Elizabeth: Jax wrote a restraining order barring you from any contact with his son.
Nikolas: He did what?
Elizabeth: There's a copy on file in administration. Plus, all hospital personnel have been informed not to let you go anywhere near the baby.
Emily: Michael and Morgan are playing with their gifts from Sonny. You know, the boys and I got close while I was staying here and I miss spending time with them, and it doesn't seem right to just disappear from their lives.
Jason: Well, you know, you don't have to explain your love for the boys, you know, to me.
Emily: It's just something in your voice makes me feel like I should. Are -- are you ok?
Jason: Is there a reason I shouldn't be?
Emily: No. I mean, not -- not that I know of. I mean, that's why I'm asking.
Jason: I'm just going through some stuff, you know, a lot on my mind.
Emily: Is there anything you want to share?
Jason: No, you know, I'll work -- I'll work my way through it.
Jason: Michael said you were -- you were out of town, too.
Emily: Yeah, I -- I was planning to go away with mom, and then -- then I got a call at the last minute from Angela -- she's an old friend of mine from school -- and she talked me into going to a spa at the last minute in Arizona with her.
Jason: That sounds -- sounds nice.
Emily: Yeah, it was. It was -- it was great to -- to get away from everything. Um -- you should try it sometime.
Jason: Huh. You're not going to try to talk me into going to a spa, right?
Emily: No. I wouldn't dream of it. You know, but you like to travel, maybe -- maybe you should take Sam and -- and get out of town for a while.
Jason: I'll think about that. I'm glad you had fun on your trip.
Sonny: I just want to know that we're on the same page. Alexis should never know that she's your mother. It's a messy situation, all right, especially for a young girl to understand. And for Kristina’s sake, I just don't --
Sam: Hey --
Sam: Could you just do me a favor? Don't ask "for Kristina’s sake" because that's what Alexis always says. She hides behind that innocent little girl to justify outrageous behavior -- lying, bullying, demanding stem cells, taking medicine for Danny for herself "for Kristina’s sake." I will not change my mind. I do not want Alexis to know that I am her daughter. I'm not going to hurt Kristina for -- for anything in this world. She is my little sister. But I hate it that for Kristina’s sake, Alexis is never going to have to take responsibility for throwing away her first child -- me.
Luke: Oh, daughter, just in time.
Lulu: Are you all right?
Luke: Never better.
Lulu: Why are you doing this?
Luke: Because the place is calling out for a remodel. Hand me that painting, will you?
Lulu: Oh, my -- you can't be serious. Nikolas' naked grandma?
Luke: Yeah. That isn't the original -- I ripped it to shreds and burned it -- but call me sentimental. I've sort of missed the old gal, so I had a reproduction painted. She's going to give the place a sort of -- cheesy flair, don't you think?
Dr. O’Donnell: Got to hand it to you. When you're right, you're right.
Patrick: Yeah, jury's still out on that.
Dr. O’Donnell: No, the verdict is officially in. I was sure even you couldn't pull it off, but obviously you're more persuasive than I thought.
Patrick: You just have to approach from the right angle.
Dr. O’Donnell: Well, if you ever teach a seminar, sign me up. I'd like to acquire your technique. In the meantime, a bet is a bet. You got her to do it. Here's your money.
Alexis: What's so urgent?
Nikolas: I need you to get this lifted as soon as possible.
Alexis: So is that true? Did you try to gain access to the baby when you weren't on the approved visitors' list?
Nikolas: Yes. Courtney was my fiancée. I visited the child every day for the first week of his life.
Elizabeth: What he's saying is true. There wasn't a problem until Jax made it one.
Nikolas: Ok, I'm not a threat to John. I was going to be his stepfather, for God's sakes. Courtney would've wanted me to be in his life. She would've insisted on it.
Alexis: I'm not the one you need to convince.
Jax: I'm sorry to see you here.
Alexis: You slap my nephew with a restraining order. You're damn right I'm going to be here, and I'm asking you as a friend to please drop it. There's obviously a lot of tension going on between the two of you and I don't think the baby should be in the middle of it and have to suffer.
Nikolas: And I know this is a fact that you'd rather ignore, but I could've been John's father just as easily as you.
Alexis: You know what? It would be nice if the two of you could show each other a little tolerance and a little compassion.
Jax: Alexis, you really shouldn't be in the middle of this.
Jax: What made you think calling Alexis was a good idea? I mean, you knew that she'd be torn between us. You couldn't have the decency to go out and find a neutral attorney?
Nikolas: "Decency"? Who are you to talk about decency? Courtney hasn't been dead a month, and I just walked in on you almost having sex with Carly.
Carly: Wow. I'm surprised to see you. Weren't you away on a trip?
Emily: Just got back.
Carly: Headed right over, did you?
Emily: Mm-hmm. Yep. I came over to see Michael and Morgan.
Carly: Right. So, is Sonny here?
Emily: I haven't seen him.
Carly: Are the boys upstairs?
Emily: Yeah, I just put them to bed.
Emily: I'm sorry, I didn't know you were coming.
Carly: Well, I kind of want to take them home with me.
Emily: All right, no problem. I'll go get them.
Carly: Ok, wait a second. You know, you're getting way ahead of yourself. If I wanted to go wake up my boys, rest assured, I'd go do it. But since they're sleeping, I'll leave them there, ok? You know, I'm glad I ran into you.
Emily: Oh, really?
Emily: Well, I really couldn't tell.
Carly: Something's going on, and I'm not sure if you know anything about it. But Nikolas is having a big, fat, public meltdown, and you need to do something to stop it.
Sonny: It feels strange to be injecting myself into something so personal to you. You find your mother. The bad news is it was Alexis.
Sonny: But you got every right to claim her if that's what you want to do.
Sam: I don’t.
Sonny: Well, but if you did, it -- it should be your decision to make. You don't need any input from me. Now, I'm kind of out of line here, I understand that, but I just want you to know this isn't about me not wanting to look foolish or whatever, because if that were the case, I would take my lumps. Enough people think the worst of me anyway. This is about Kristina and, you know, two people who shouldn't have had a child together and were irresponsible and made her. She's going to grow up, you know, asking questions. "How did mommy and daddy meet? How come they don't live together?" You know, "How come they don't even like each other?" And not that we have to explain to her that her daddy made another baby with her older sister.
Sam: Ok, it sounds really awful when you say it out loud like that, like she was a mistake or -- or she wasn't supposed to be born.
Sonny: Sam, that's not -- that's not what I meant.
Sam: I know, I know. I'm sorry, Sonny, I'm sorry. Her death is a sore spot, that's all.
Sonny: I understand.
Sam: I get what you're saying about Kristina and all, and it's not like I have this burning desire to know who my mother is. I know her well enough, thank you. And even if I did confront Alexis with the fact that she is the reason why I exist, she would just backpedal and make up excuses, and I won't believe her. And in the end, I will wind up hating her guts. So why waste the emotional energy, right?
Sam: You don't have to worry. I'm not going to say anything. This isn't going to go any further than you, me, and Jason. That's it -- the three of us are going to know.
Jason: I just left your place. Emily's there.
Lulu: Dad, trust me on this. Think before you decorate.
Luke: This is a classic.
Lulu: Oh, what's the matter? You couldn't find any clowns on velvet?
Luke: No, and they were all out of nuns on bark, too.
Lulu: Dad, who do you think you're kidding? You find out that Skye’s pregnant with Alcazar's baby and you disappear. I'm thinking, "Oh, my God, where did he go this time? Some remote jungle drinking rum and antagonizing the wildlife?"
Luke: No, that's too much like my current marriage. Oh, baby, I'm sorry, you thought I'd split on you?
Lulu: That's what you do. Dad, anytime that you lose something important -- and I know that Skye was important to you -- you can't face it head-on, so you run off on some trumped-up adventure.
Luke: Look, first of all, I never lose. Secondly, I have no trouble facing things head-on. And third, I've never in my life involved myself in some "trumped-up" adventure.
Lulu: Ok, ok. So this time, you didn't disappear. Congratulations. Then what is all this about, huh? I mean, you've ignored this place for months.
Luke: I need to go back to work, Lulu. So if you want to help me get ready for tomorrow night's reopening, jump in. Otherwise, get out of the way.
Lulu: Ow. Tomorrow night? Huh. I guess Skye really hurt you big-time.
Luke: This has nothing to do with Skye. I'm sick to death of just hanging around the Quartermaines. I want to go back to work.
Lulu: Maybe you can't admit it to me, but don't kid yourself, dad. You're in pain. That's what this is all about.
Dr. O’Donnell: This is one bet I'm happy to lose. You did a good thing, Patrick. My patient desperately needs the surgery. And her mother was terrified to consent.
Patrick: Understandably so. A child needing brain surgery is never easy for a parent.
Dr. O’Donnell: Well, without it, my patient would have died. By convincing her mother, you saved a little girl's life.
Elizabeth: I don't mean to sound harsh. You know I love you. Not only as my brother-in-law, but as one of my oldest and closest friends. But I want you to understand that objectively, you're in the wrong here.
Nikolas: What are you saying? That -- that you agree with Jax? That I'm somehow a threat --
Nikolas: A threat to John? What?
Elizabeth: I think you're focusing way too much attention on that baby to avoid dealing with the pain of losing Courtney. And that's unhealthy. Nor is it fair. That baby is not a living memorial to Courtney.
Alexis: You're joking? I mean, what he said -- that you had sex with Carly. It's a joke, right? My God, what happened? What were you thinking? What, did she throw herself on you? Did she take you by surprise?
Jax: No. And no. Not that that's any of your business.
Alexis: This is where you're wrong. It is my business, what happens to you, because you are my best and most cherished friend. And if you did what he said you did with Carly, then you are making a huge mistake. I mean, the restraining order is bad. It's legal. It'll come and go. But having sex with Carly? My God, it's a disaster. It'll have lifetime consequences.
Emily: I spoke with Nikolas this afternoon. He's struggling, but I'm sure he's going to be ok.
Carly: Then you don't know what you're talking about. He just showed up at my house. Jax and I were there, and we were in the middle of a close moment. And Nikolas barged right in. He started hurling insults; he started another fight with Jax. He's out of control.
Emily: Carly, I don't understand. Why do you suddenly care what happens to Nikolas?
Carly: I don't care, Emily, but I thought you might.
Emily: No, what you thought was that you'd get me worried about Nikolas to distract me from Sonny, even though we've told you repeatedly that there's nothing going on.
Carly: I hate to bust your little theory, but every thought I have isn't about Sonny and who he happens to be sleeping with. I thought you might want to help Nikolas, that's all.
Emily: If you and Jax were interrupted in such a close moment, you obviously have his ear. You're so concerned about Nikolas? You intercede with Jax and get him to agree to let Nikolas see Little John. You don't need me for that.
Sonny: Emily probably came by to see Michael and Morgan, because they -- they miss her when she's gone, and she doesn't just want to disappear --
Sonny: From their lives, you know.
Jason: Yeah, that's -- that's what she said.
Sonny: You got a problem with Emily seeing the boys, or --
Jason: You know -- coming around all the time keeps Emily close, and I know you, you know --
Sonny: I mean, I -- I make myself scarce. Uh -- we saw Alexis on the pier, right?
Jason: Are you ok?
Sam: Yeah. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. It was a -- a good thing, seeing Alexis and talking to Sonny. It reinforced my decision not to say anything about her being my mother.
Sonny: And I am very grateful. And this is a secret that we should all keep. Ok. Excuse me.
Jason: You know, we never really got around to talking about Manny, because that's actually why I was trying to reach you in Puerto Rico. You got all my messages?
Sonny: Yeah, I got them. And this thing with Alexis wiped me out, and -- we're going to talk about it -- we'll talk about Manny tomorrow. We'll talk about Puerto Rico --
Jason: All right, that's fine. Ahem.
Sam: Ok. Is it just me, or did the temperature drop, like, 20 degrees when you walked in the door?
Jason: You think he noticed?
Sam: No. What's going on?
Jason: He and Emily both just lied to my face.
Coleman: Well, this night just got more interesting.
Coleman: How about a beer? On the house.
Carly: Wow. Why the generosity?
Coleman: Well, you know, you were Courtney’s friend. Courtney was a special girl.
Carly: You know, it must've escaped me. So please tell me, when exactly did you and Courtney form this bond? When you were making her strip?
Coleman: You give me power I didn't have, Carly. Courtney did exactly what she wanted to do -- or, actually, what she needed to do -- at any given time. I mean, the girl was as strong-willed as they come. And not to say that we were close buddies, but like I told you at the memorial, I admired her. I'm going to miss her.
Carly: I guess we have something in common.
Coleman: To Courtney.
Carly: To Courtney.
Coleman: Right on.
Patrick: 20 a game.
Carly: Be warned -- I'm good.
Patrick: Well, I'm already up 100 bucks tonight, and as good as you think you are, I'm so much better.
Robin: Excuse me, Brendan? Have you seen Patrick? I need a surgical consult.
Dr. O’Donnell: He left, said something about having a beer at Jake’s.
Jason: I walk down the stairs, there was Emily lying on the couch, eyes closed, smiling. She said, "I'm not going to open my eyes until you kiss me."
Sam: She thought you were Sonny?
Jason: Exactly. They didn't -- they didn't break things off, Sam. And now they're sleeping together. This is --
Sam: Hey -- whoa, whoa, whoa, you can't be sure of that.
Jason: Yes, I can -- come on, I can tell.
Sam: Well, did you confront her with it?
Jason: No, I just let her say whatever she was going to say.
Sam: Which was?
Jason: Some weak excuse about playing Sleeping Beauty with Morgan. I pretended to believe her, just like I pretended to believe Sonny when he claimed he was in Puerto Rico. Now everybody's lying to me. I don't -- I don't know what to do. I don't know.
Sam: Who says you have to do anything?
Emily: Thankfully, Morgan came down a minute later, so -- so Jason believed the whole Sleeping Beauty thing.
Sonny: Oh, he's distracted; he's got a lot of things going on.
Emily: Hey, Sonny, I'm so sorry. Draping myself over the couch was -- was following a foolish impulse and I shouldn't have taken the chance.
Sonny: No, no, no, hey, hey. I just wish I was the one who walked in and would've been able to tease you a little bit --
Sonny: Give you that wake-up-the-princess kiss. But now that, you know, with everything going on, it's more important than ever that we -- we keep our relationship under wraps.
Lulu: Dad, this place has Skye’s name written all over it. You two were partners; you created this together.
Luke: The Haunted Star's mine, Lulu. It's always been mine. Skye had a small financial interest.
Lulu: You two fell in love here.
Luke: What are you talking about?
Lulu: Sorry -- as much in love as you'd let yourself be.
Luke: That's nonsense.
Lulu: So another guy comes into the picture -- which, by the way, is -- you only have yourself to blame for that -- and you roll over and you play dead.
Luke: Oh, this is ridiculous!
Lulu: No -- so you throw yourself into this project to prove to Skye that you don't really need her -- when you really do -- and maybe just long enough to see if she's interested and she'll keep hanging around.
Luke: You need to back off now. I have big plans and ideas. Spanky? Hi, it's me. Come on over to the Haunted Star. Your loving husband needs you.
Lulu: You did not just call the step-witch.
Luke: That's my wife you're talking about. Unlike every other woman I've ever known, she doesn't waste my time explaining my "true feelings" to me.
Lulu: Oh. You have just gone from sad and lonely to tragic.
Luke: Well, you've gone from plain wrong to annoying.
Lulu: I am just telling the truth.
Luke: There's truth, and then there's perspective -- get some. Now, shouldn't you be out there hanging all over some hormonal punk that I can disagree with?
Lulu: Yeah, talk about tragic. I am the product of this town's greatest love story and I have to invent boyfriends named Elvis just so that people don't think I'm a freak.
Luke: You invented him?
Lulu: Dad, love is precious and rare. You really should've been more careful with Skye.
Luke: If you invented this boyfriend, why the hell would you name him "Elvis"?
Jax: For nearly three years, you lied about Kristina’s paternity.
Alexis: Great. Throw that in my face.
Jax: Well, no, I'm just making a point. Were you wrong to keep Sonny in the dark about his daughter? Were you right? Or did you make the best choice under the circumstances for your child?
Alexis: You know the answer to that.
Jax: Well, that's what Carly’s done, as well. She's made the best choice she could for her children.
Alexis: Are you listening to yourself? You're making excuses for her, Jax. You're not thinking clearly.
Jax: Look, I appreciate your concern and I value your advice, ok, and I trust your instincts, but I got to go with my own on this. I'm not ending it with Carly.
Alexis: May God be with you.
Elizabeth: Don't challenge the restraining order. Just let things be for now. Show Jax you can be reasonable, and that's how you'll get him to give in.
Nikolas: Look, Jax, I don't want to fight with you or burden John with my grief. But Courtney would want me in his life for her sake, and I won't give up.
Jax: Courtney would want me to protect her son, so the restraining order stands.
[Slow music plays]
Carly: How about that?
Patrick: It's all yours.
Carly: You know what? I'd rather have a dance instead.
Patrick: I think I can manage that. You still haven't told me what brought you here tonight.
Carly: Oh, you know, Jake’s was a place I used to be able to come for a game of pool, a spin on the dance floor, and a cute boy that didn't ask a lot of questions.
Patrick: Well, this is me shutting my trap.
Emily: Carly believed me when I said that I was just here to see the boys. I mean, she's automatically suspicious of anything I say, but she didn't dwell on it, and she was more focused on Nikolas, oddly enough.
Sonny: You know what's ironic? That I have to hide my relationship with you when it's one of the healthiest I've ever had. You don't lie to me; you don't -- we trust each other. I mean, we're not -- we're not doing this for payback or because we want to hurt anybody.
Emily: Yeah, or ourselves.
Emily: You know, that -- that's why this secrecy thing -- it doesn't bother me. It's just -- it's just a temporary condition, and what we have --
Sonny: Listen to me. You've honored me by loving me, and I -- I want you to know that I love you.
Sam: Emily and Sonny both love you; your trust means something for them. For them to go and do this, go behind your back and have a secret affair -- it must be really important to them. Jason, maybe -- just maybe -- they are in love.
Jason: No, that can't be.
Sam: But if they are, you can't stop it.
Jason: Sam, you don't understand! That's the problem -- neither does Emily. Sonny loses himself. He loses control without warning. He loses himself to a place that's so dark, he can't even function. He can't hear; he doesn't understand. He talks to people who aren't there, ok? He destroys things; he tries to hurt himself and anyone who stops him. If he gets in that mood and he hurts Emily, I'd have to kill him.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Luke: We're going to reopen this joint tomorrow night and I want you here -- as my hostess.
Robin: I'm here to apologize.
Patrick: Go ahead.
Sonny: Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
Father Coates: What's weighing on your mind?
Sam: You would never hurt Sonny.
Jason: I will do whatever it takes to protect my sister!
