Robin: Hey. You all right?

Patrick: It's just another dizzy spell.

Robin: "Another"?

Patrick: Yeah. But don't worry -- it's been happening since I was a kid, so --

Robin: Well, maybe it's symptomatic of a bigger problem.

Patrick: It is -- hunger.

Robin: Hunger?

Patrick: It's -- you know, it's no big deal. I get dizzy, then I start to lose focus. It's a good thing I'm off right away. I shouldn't be treating patients. Aren't you off right away, too?

Robin: I get it -- this is your charming way of asking me out to dinner?

Patrick: No. It's me trying to get an invitation to your new apartment for home cooking. I can't imagine you'd be able to find a kitchen with a map.

Robin: Ooh. I'm going to make you eat those words.

Patrick: Well, I'm going to take that as a yes.

Robin: Don't make me regret it.

Noah: Patrick. When I talk do words just, like, disappear into thin air with you? I've told you time and time again in every way I know how, I do not want to be on the donor list! And I've explained to you, because of my life choices, I do not deserve a transplant. I want it to go to somebody who does. Nothing seems to penetrate with you. So let's try this.

Jax: Well, you know, I've also seen how you operate and you can be very destructive.

Carly: So can you.

Jax: Right, so we should just do the smart thing here and just stay away from each other.

Carly: Yeah, we could do that.

Jax: Yeah.

Carly: Yeah.

Jax: That's good.

Carly: Or we could look at the big picture.

Jax: Which is?

Carly: How much fun we could have.

Jax: Yeah. Hmm. I just --

Carly: But you're not quite sure what to think about me. So I guess this won't be going any further.

Sonny: Hey. Like I told you, I'm not going to give you up.

Emily: And whatever we face, we'll face it together. It'll take time, but Jason loves us both and I have to believe that he's going to find a way to accept this.

Sonny: Well, I'm not so sure about that.

Emily: Ok. Then I'll go.

Sonny: What -- whoa.

[Knock on door]

Alexis: I'm here to apologize. Ric overreacted. It was very hypocritical of him to condone anything unfortunate happening to Manny.

Sam: Got it -- you're scared. Bye.

Alexis: Sam, something else we need to address and I think that we should do just that. I know that you blame me for what happened to your brother and I know that you blame me for what happened to your baby.

Sam: Oh, I don't really think you want to get into this right now, Alexis.

Alexis: And I realize that you and I are never going to be friends. However, we do live in the same town.  We are going to run into each other from time to time, and I'm hoping that we might manage to be civil in public.

Sam: What do you want from me, Alexis?

Alexis: Peace. Law school, huh?

Sam: It's just a thought.

Alexis: I think it's a great idea. It's a lofty goal. It's very ambitious of you. I can tell you, it's an arduous process.

Sam: What, are you suggesting that I'm not smart enough?

Alexis: No. I --

Sam: Well, I would just like you to know that it's actually in my genes. My mother happened to be a brilliant woman, not to mention a selfish, patronizing bitch.

Alexis: You know, you had a very good point earlier. It was a mistake to come here.

Sam: No, you know what? You wanted in and now you're in and now you're not leaving until I've had my say.

Noah: You think that'll stop me? I can have a bottle of vodka in my hand within 10 minutes.

Patrick: You wouldn't do that.

Noah: Oh, you think not?

Patrick: You just want me to believe that you hate yourself so much you would deliberately trash your life again, but what I don't understand is why.

Noah: Because I want you to stop helping me.

Patrick: I am trying to save your life.

Noah: I didn't ask you to! I want my name off the donor list! If it's on there and a liver becomes available, I will refuse it, so stop making everybody crazy! And do what I ask!

Robin: Noah, that is the most selfish, ungrateful thing I have ever heard a father say to his son.

Noah: You have no idea. Patrick doesn't have any altruistic motives here. He wants me alive for himself. He thinks if he appoints himself the liver police, it'll make up for all the years he spent rejecting me.

Patrick: Are you out of your mind?

Noah: You know it's true!

Robin: You need to get a grip, Noah. Your son is trying to give you a second chance, not just with him but at life. Do not throw his generosity, deserved or not, back in his face or you will regret it, I promise.

Maxie: You seem strangely comfortable. Do you often frequent rooftops?

Nikolas: No. But this one is kind of special. You could say it's where Courtney and I got started.

Maxie: Please tell me it wasn’t raining.

Nikolas: It was, actually.

Maxie: Rooftops and rain -- doesn't get more romantic than that. So how are you doing?

Nikolas: Not so good, Maxie. I showed up in NICU angry and belligerent, demanding to see Courtney’s baby. Dr. Drake would've called security and had me thrown out if Elizabeth and Lucky didn't defuse the situation.

Maxie: So you were stupid. Big deal, join the club.

Nikolas: Well, Jax found out.

Maxie: Oh. I guess he wasn't too happy about that.

Nikolas: Ahem -- or maybe he was. I mean, I just handed him additional incentive to keep me out of John's life. That baby is all I have left of Courtney. And he just makes me feel connected to her. It just does.

Carly: What's wrong?

Jax: You know what? I finally figured out why you're suddenly so enamored of me.

Carly: I'm not following you.

Jax: It's not me that you find irresistible. It's my son.

Emily: You'd better go see what's up.

Sonny: Ok, I'll call you later.

Emily: Ok.

Sonny: All right, bye.

Emily: Bye.

Jason: What happened? Are you ok?

Max: Morgan keeps leaving his stuff on the stairs. I'm trying to teach him not to, but apparently I'm not having much of an effect.

[Jason sighs]

Sonny: What the hell is going on?

Max: Oh, I fell down the stairs. Hope the noise didn't disturb you at all.

Jason: I figured something out, and we need to talk about it.

Sam: I am not the person you should come to when you're trying to sell your noble, misunderstood mother routine because I understand you perfectly. You are consumed by yourself and it is that complete and utter self-involvement that made it so easy for you to put my baby at risk and --

Alexis: All right.

Sam: Let my brother die.

Alexis: That's enough. Excuse me,

Robin: All right, we get it. You don't want to live, so what's the plan -- go face-down in a bar somewhere? Or something more dramatic like a leap off a roof. Or better yet, what would cause Patrick more pain, since that's what you seem to be all about.

Noah: You couldn't possibly understand.

Robin: You're right, I don’t.

Patrick: You know what, Robin? Don't even bother.

Noah: You know, that was actually pretty -- some fiery defense you leapt to there, but that's the point, isn't it? You don't really care about whether I get a liver or not. It's all about making appearances in front of her.

Patrick: Yeah, right. I can't slip anything past you, can I?

Noah: Yeah, well, hear me -- give it up.

Patrick: You hear me -- stop being a moron.

Maxie: How are you with brutal honesty?

Nikolas: I can take it.

Maxie: Good, because I don't have an internal editor. I think Jax has a right to be concerned. I mean, John's his kid. It's on Jax to protect that little boy. And since he is the only parent, he has to be twice as vigilant. And you acted like an ass. The fact that Courtney loved you doesn't justify your behavior, not from where Jax is standing. I mean, all he thinks is that you're hostile, out of control, and a potential danger to his son.

Nikolas: I tried to make peace. He wasn't receptive.

Maxie: Maybe he would be if it came from another source. What Jax needs to do is trust you again. Everything you do is suspect. What you need is for someone who knows you to convince Jax that all you want is what's best for that baby.

Nikolas: How did someone so young get to be so smart?

Maxie: I'm kind of an old soul. Besides, I'm pretty good at fixing other people's problems. It's my life I seem to have an issue with.

Nikolas: Well, you handled it just right. I appreciate your ear and will take your advice. I think I know just the person who will help me.

Jax: I'm -- I'm sorry. You know what? That didn't come out right.

Carly: No, I know exactly what you meant. You think I'm working you? This is some big scheme so I can take your son away from you? Is that really what you think about me?

Jax: You know what, Carly? Honestly, I don't know what -- I don't know what to think.

Carly: Wow, I am just amazed at what a sucker I can be. You know, I was starting to think for one second that you liked me and that you were starting to trust me. Who knew you were such a great actor? Thanks for flubbing your lines before I made a huge mistake.

Jax: Oh. No --

[Jax sighs]

[Glass shatters]

Jax: Oh. Alexis, it's Jax. Will you call me as soon as you get this? I need you to handle a situation with Carly.

Alexis: I am done being the place where you dump your anger. And I am done feeling guilty for the alleged wrongs that I committed against you.

Sam: Not "alleged" -- fact.

Alexis: No. The one thing, the only thing that I did was lose it with you in the hospital chapel when I thought my daughter's life was on the line. I was desperate. You were my only hope and I said things to you without thinking, and for that, I apologize profusely to you as I have done a thousand times already. The only valid accusation that you have made of me, Sam, is that I put my daughter's well-being above everything else -- that's it. I am done apologizing to you for anything else.

Sam: Nice. That conveniently glosses over the fact that you're responsible for my brother's death.

Alexis: Dr. Patrick Drake made the decision to give me the antidote. He did that because I have two children who are dependent on me.

Sam: Of course, of course! It always comes back to your sainted motherhood, doesn't it?

Alexis: Is there ever going to be a moment where you might show me a modicum of respect? I am certain that you are going to have children someday, Sam, and you're going to know what it's like to put their welfare in front of yours, and I can't wait personally for that moment, because maybe then you will show me a little understanding and a bit of forgiveness.

Jason: You didn't return any of my calls

Sonny: Yeah, well --

Jason: When you were gone.

Sonny: I was just busy, you know? What's the problem?

Jason: Well, it started with Max.

Sonny: What, you've been talking to Max?

Jason: Well, he -- he's been tailing Carly for me and she's making his life hell, by the way.

Sonny: You're surprised? I mean, you know, why is Max on Carly anyway?

Jason: Well, because Michael called when you were away.

Sonny: Right.

Jason: He wanted to talk to you about Jax and Carly.

Sonny: What about them?

Jason: They went out on a date. You were unreachable, so Max brought it to me.

Sonny: Well, they have been spending a lot of time at the hospital, taking care of Courtney’s baby. They just probably went out to dinner. It's no big deal.

Jason: I just -- you know, I think it's more.

Sonny: You're kidding me, right? Carly -- first of all, Carly doesn't even like Jax that much. She knows that he's not on our side. She's just probably doing this just to get my attention.

Jason: Ok, Sonny, that's what I thought, but I actually think that she might be falling for Jax.

Sonny: Jason, never happen.

Jason: Ok, just in case --

Sonny: Right.

Jason: I told Max to make sure it didn't, but he trailed them to a room at the Metro Court.

Sonny: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. They got a room? Did they --

Jason: I don't know what they did, because Carly saw Max.

Sonny: You know Max is going to want a raise for this. You know how he is.

Jason: Well, he should get a raise.

Sonny: Ok, Jax and Carly -- that's not good. I assume you know that.

Jason: You got to ask me that?

Sonny: Well, why did you put Max on surveillance? You know he has no experience with Carly. Why didn't you take her yourself?

Jason: I had something else to deal with.

Sonny: Must've been important.

Jason: You might want to sit down for this.

Noah: I guess you heard everything, huh?

Bobbie: Every ghastly word. What clicks on inside your head that allows you to be so cruel to your son? Noah, you are not like that. You are a kind, loving, gentle man and I know you love Patrick, so I don't understand why you're intentionally being so nasty.

Noah: I'm dying Bobbie. "Here lies the once promising Dr. Noah Drake who drank himself to death." That was my choice, I chose that. That's my burden, not Patrick’s.

Bobbie: I don't understand why you are so accepting of your own death.

Noah: Then you're not listening. I brought this on myself. I'm not going to stand in line and wait for a liver transplant and snatch it from somebody who I think is more deserving.

Bobbie: "Somebody who's more deserving," I know, I know, I know, and I've heard that before, but it doesn't make any sense to me. Noah, what constitutes deserving?

Noah: Someone who didn't give himself a liver disease.

Bobbie: Patrick is willing to step into that breach. Why won't you let him?

Noah: Bobbie, you're a nurse. You know that a partial liver transplant surgery involves certain risks to the donor.

Bobbie: Low risks, less than 20%.

Noah: Yeah, well, I think that's high. Look, Patrick’s -- Patrick’s got a brilliant life ahead of him. Why would I ask him to risk that for somebody who didn't think enough of their own life not to systematically destroy it?

Bobbie: Because he wants to.

Noah: Yeah, well, I'm not having that.

Bobbie: Ok, then fine. But why not use the rest of the time that you have with your son to bring yourself closer to him instead of yelling at him and pushing him away?

Noah: If I don't get any closer to Patrick, he won't miss me when I'm gone.

Bobbie: Oh, you know what? Everything that Patrick just said to you is right. You are behaving like a moron.

Alexis: Ah. I was just about to call you.

Carly: Well, that can't be good.

Alexis: I had a conversation with Jax -- very interesting.

Carly: Wow, he moves fast.

Alexis: There is obviously something going on between you. I don't want to know what it is -- really, I don't -- but apparently, you've done some sort of number on him.

Carly: It was mutual, so spill it. This is about Little John, right? He wants to change the arrangement?

Alexis: Yes, he does.

Carly: Ok. What's the new deal?

Alexis: He wants to make you John's legal guardian.

Carly: Are you serious?

Alexis: Yeah. I'm sure it was a momentary lapse and I'm also certain that you will turn it down.

Carly: Why would I do that?

Alexis: Because you're a parent and you have parental instincts that allow you to act in a child's best interest and it isn't in the child's best interest for him to have a legal guardian that is directly or indirectly involved with the mob. And I'm sure there are other fine choices, and I'll be available to help Jax with any legal assistance that he might need.

Carly: Well, you know what, Alexis? I'm touched, you know, I really am that you would be worrying about me, but it's not a problem, really, because I'm an all-around designated legal guardian.

Alexis: What does that mean?

Carly: You don't know?

Alexis: No.

Carly: Sonny named me Kristina’s guardian if anything ever happened to him. It's in his will.

Alexis: Listen to me very carefully. I don't care what's in Sonny's will. Hell will freeze over before you ever take charge of my daughter.

Jax: You know, I was really counting on that family -- you, me, your mom -- the way Courtney and I dreamed about it. I wanted your mother to enjoy every stage of your life without fearing Helena and what she's capable of. That's -- that's why I switched your D.N.A. results -- to give you a better life. You know, I probably won't win any morality awards for what I've done, but every day I'm more convinced that I made the right choice, because Nikolas is starting to behave like a true Cassadine. You know, he's just -- he's unpredictable. That's just not healthy for you. I mean, your life is about more than being a reminder of your mother. You're a person, you know, not a touchstone for Nikolas' grief. But you don't have to worry about that because I'm going to take care of you. And I'm going to love you. I give you my word.

Sonny: Do me a favor, will you? Don't tell me to sit down because it makes me nervous. Just tell me what's going on.

Jason: Ok. Uh, I -- you know, I don't even -- all right, during the epidemic --

Sonny: Yeah?

Jason: Ok, Danny was delirious with fever.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Jason: And -- and he kept saying things like, "Sam had been chosen --"

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Jason: "As a child," that he was glad their parents made them brother and sister, it sounded to me like Sam s adopted. So she got a D.N.A. test done on Danny and she found out that they were not biologically related.

Sonny: Wow. Must've been a shock, right?

Jason: That was the first. So I -- I put Stan on tracking Sam’s birth certificate. Didn't have any luck at all, but he did find the clinic where she was born, ok? And then that led us to a private school in New Hampshire where we found out there a 16-year-old girl dropped out for a semester. It timed out with when Sam was born.

Sonny: Ok. So that explains why you couldn't, you know, do what you had to do with Carly, right? So? Who -- who's Sam’s mother?

Jason: It’s Alexis Davis.

Sonny: If this is -- ok, seriously, if this is your idea of a joke, then your sense of humor hasn't gotten better since the coma.

Jason: Am I laughing?

Sonny: No, you're not laughing, but let me tell you something. It's impossible. Alexis is not Sam’s mother, she is Kristina’s mother. Have Stan go back --

Jason: Sonny --

Sonny: Redirect what he has to do.

Jason: Sonny, do you think --

Sonny: Have him go 100 different directions.

Jason: Do you think I would accept this without tracking every possible way? You think I would bring this to you unless I was absolutely sure?

Sonny: No -- but, you know, it just doesn't seem --

Jason: Here.

Sonny: What is that?

Jason: It's all there, all of it.

Sonny: Do you have any idea what this means? I -- oh -- I slept with a mother and her daughter and got them both pregnant. That means that the -- the baby that Sam was carrying, our child, is Alexis' granddaughter. What kind of creepy, freaky crap is this?

Nikolas: Oh, sorry, Sam.

Sam: Hey.

Nikolas: It's good to see you. Excuse me.

Sam: Actually, you could join me for a minute. I wouldn't mind the company. It calms the chaos in my head. I could actually hear what I'm thinking maybe.

Nikolas: Well, I understand that, certainly. My family owns an island in Greece. I used to go there to recharge sometimes. Stare out at the ocean till life made sense again.

Sam: You know, I can finally say that I've met someone who owns an island.

Nikolas: You could own one, too. I mean, Jason certainly has the money.

Sam: How would you know that?

Nikolas: One would have to assume that his services don't come cheap.

Sam: If this is going to turn into a Jason-bashing, maybe you can just walk along.

Nikolas: No, no, I didn't mean to sound snide. I apologize if it came off that way.

Sam: Ok.

Nikolas: Well, now that I am well on my way to being presumptuous, I might as well go for it, huh? May I ask you a question?

Sam: Oh, well, as long as I don't have to guarantee an answer, sure.

Nikolas: No, no, it's not personal. I'm just -- I'm making an attempt to understand something about myself. I could use an objective opinion.

Sam: All right, shoot.

Nikolas: Ok. Losing Courtney has sent me reeling, to put it lightly. My perspective has become quite skewed. I -- I have this connection to Courtney’s baby that's -- I don't know -- it's difficult to describe, and I just -- I wonder sometimes if I'm just projecting, just using Little John as a way to stay close to Courtney.

Sam: Well, I might be out of my depth on that one. I think that if Courtney were alive, that the two of you would be raising this baby together. And I think that the fact that you feel a connection to him is very normal to me. It shows that you don't throw people away. And I wish my mother had fought that hard to stay close to me.

Maxie: Ahem -- I just saw Dr. Hottie in the locker room.

Robin: Oh, yeah? How'd he seem?

Maxie: Don't you know? I mean, I saw you two earlier. You looked pretty intense.

Robin: I bet you've never been accused of being subtle ever in your life.

Maxie: Guilty as charged. So give.

Robin: All right. I guess you could say that I've started to see there's more to Patrick than his overinflated ego. I like him -- a little.

Maxie: But?

Robin: Let's just say I have my reservations.

Maxie: Reservations? Like at Metro Court?

Robin: No.

Maxie: Ok, seriously, reservations -- um -- is he seeing someone?

Robin: Oh, I'm sure there's other women, but I don't think he's serious about anybody.

Maxie: So that makes him fair game.

Robin: Hmm, it's not that simple.

Maxie: Why not?

Robin: Well, because dating when you're H.I.V.-positive is kind of complicated. I just have to make everyone -- make sure everyone's positions are clear.

Maxie: Does Patrick know?

Robin: He has for a while now.

Maxie: Does it seem like he has a problem with it?

Robin: No, not really.

Maxie: And you like him?

Robin: I -- I said I think I like him.

Maxie: Oh, semantics. God, Robin, everyone can see that he likes you. Why don't you just seize the moment?

Bobbie: Oh, you've got it all figured out, don't you? You surround yourself in your own darkness. And maybe you'll drink and maybe you won’t. And you'll wait for death to come and get you. And you won't fight to live because you don't deserve it? And if you sacrifice your own life, it will somehow make up for the loss of your wife's?

Noah: Yeah, something like that.

Bobbie: Well, there's only one big flaw in this master plan of yours. It's all about you. You forgot to factor in your son.

Noah: I'm doing this to protect Patrick.

Bobbie: Noah, my son just lost his dad. And I can assure you that the worst thing you can do right now is try and build up some phony animosity to keep Patrick from feeling sad when you die. Because that's a given. Patrick is going to grieve, either way. And if it ends badly between the two of you, he's going to be haunted by that for the rest of his life.

[Bobbie sighs]

Bobbie: You know, the most precious gift that Tony ever gave to Lucas was his last. Unconditional love, pride, and acceptance. Because Tony really opened up his heart. And he left nothing unsaid, nothing unresolved. And I can already see how that's making a difference to Lucas and how he's able to deal with everything and come to terms with what's going on. So when you finally get what you want and you die, Noah, you're out of it. You're buried in the ground or your ashes in an urn. But Patrick is going to be left to carry however you choose to leave him for the rest of his life. Now, you're telling me you want to protect your son? I'm telling you, this is not the way to do it.

Patrick: No, I understand that, but -- ok. Look, I admit she's going to be a challenge. But I bet you 100 bucks I can get her to do it.

Carly: What are you doing here?

Jax: Oh. I -- I wanted to talk to you.

Carly: Come in. So, is this about being Little John's legal guardian?

Jax: Yeah. You spoke to Alexis?

Carly: Yeah, she's not too happy about it. In fact, she told me I should turn it down.

Jax: Well, then she's really overstepping her boundaries.

Carly: Is that a surprise?

Jax: Well, forget about her. It's what I want.

Carly: You sure about that? Because your attorney thinks you'd be better off going to Shadybrook and waiting for some crazy person to walk out on the street. So I just want to make sure that you are sure and this is exactly what you want.

Jax: It's what I want.

Sonny: My life just turned into an episode of "Jerry Springer."

Jason: A what?

Sonny: Don't worry about it. This is not right. It's sick, it's sick, it's sick.

Jason: Sonny -- Sonny, it's -- it's ok. You didn't know. How could you know?

Sonny: Yeah, I -- I didn't know, but you know what? It's not ok. No one's supposed to -- no one's going to know about this, right? We got that going

Jason: No, just -- just me, you, Sam, that's all.

Sonny: Ok, you make sure it stays that way. Because if this gets around, then I'm -- it doesn't look good for me. And how do I -- how do I tell Kristina, that -- that innocent little girl, that I slept with her -- her mother and her sister? And got them both --

Jason: Sonny, Sonny, look -- you'll never have that conversation. Sam hates this more than you do. She can't stand Alexis. She's not going to tell her.

Sonny: Ok, but you know how, you know, adopted kids, they want to know their biological parents.

Jason: Yeah.

Sonny: They want to ask questions.

Jason: The difference -- Sam knows Alexis. And she blames her for her baby's death, and now Danny’s, too.

Sonny: There's not enough scotch in the world. I'm going to get some air.

Robin: You brought flowers?

Patrick: Yep.

Robin: Hmm. That's very sweet of you.

Patrick: You look amazing.

Robin: Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. Come in.

Patrick: Well, if your culinary skills are even close to your ability to set a mood, I'm in for a treat.

Robin: Oh, actually, I didn't make dinner.

Patrick: Well, I thought that was the point.

Robin: I don't know why we need to waste time. Which do you prefer? Couch? Floor? Or just standing up?

Patrick: What's gotten into you?

Robin: I'm just trying to help you cash in. I mean, isn't there 100 bucks on the line if you get to nail the woman with H.I.V.?

Nikolas: Now, wouldn't Courtney be interested to know how the two of you have chosen to grieve for her?

Emily: Hey, what -- what happened to you?

Max: Don't ask.

Emily: Ok. Is Sonny around?

Max: Yeah, yeah, I think he's upstairs with Morgan. I'll go tell him you're here.

Emily: No, no, no. No need for that. I'll just -- I'll go inside and wait.

Max: Good enough.

Emily: Ok.

Emily: I'm not opening my eyes until you kiss me.

Sonny: I don't -- I don't know what to say.

Sam: I know the feeling. Trust me, Sonny, if I had any idea where the search would lead me, I would never, ever have pursued it. I hope Jason made it clear to you; I do not want Alexis to know that I am her daughter.

Sonny: Don't look at me, because I'm not telling a single soul.

Sam: I know. Listen, I know this is complicated for you.

Sonny: Well, exactly. You know what? It's one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard. You know, I don't know if I can even look at Alexis knowing that I -- we share a child and I fathered her granddaughter. It makes my -- you know, even talking about it makes my head explode.

Alexis: Hi. Excuse me for interrupting. Sam, pardon me. When you have a minute, I really need to speak to you. It's about Kristina.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Nikolas: Your best friend's been dead less than a month, and here you are about to have sex with her baby's father.

Jason: I guess I'm not who you were expecting.

Sonny: I'll call you later.

Alexis: It's about Kristina.

Sam: That's right, nothing's more earthshaking than your undying love for your daughter.
