Sonny: I'm going away to the island this weekend and I would -- I would love it if you came with me.
Emily: Oh. You're not going to believe this, but I just made other plans.
Sonny: Oh. All right. Well, you know, I mean, some other time maybe? I'll miss you.
Emily: You know what? I'll cancel those plans.
Sonny: Are you sure?
Emily: Yeah, I can't think of anything I'd rather do. I'd love to get away with you.
Michael: Where are you going?
Carly: Yeah, where are you going? And who would you love to go with?
Emily: What are you guys doing here?
Michael: Well, we a here to see our new little cousin, John.
Emily: Yeah, he's adorable. You're going to love him.
Carly: I guess Emily’s plans are a big secret, huh?
Monica: Secret? No, no. Emily's going away with me.
Jax: Fight harder. I can see your -- your mother in your eyes. You know, some people would say that I've -- that I've stolen you from Nikolas. But by me saying I'm your father, I'm making sure that you stay protected. And in the end, that is -- that is best for everyone.
Elizabeth: Sorry. I had to answer that page.
Jax: Everything ok?
Elizabeth: Better you hear this from me before they call you.
Jax: Who calls?
Elizabeth: The funeral parlor. They just released Courtney’s ashes to Nikolas.
Alexis: Nikolas, what is that?
Nikolas: Courtney's ashes. Courtney loved the ocean and I've decided to scatter her ashes there.
Alexis: Nikolas, do you want us to go with you?
Nikolas: No. I appreciate the offering, but this is something I need to do alone. Why are you here?
Alexis: You know, I just need to find Mikkos' U.S. Attorney in the 1980s.
Ric: We were hoping to access some of the files from here.
Nikolas: Something wrong?
Alexis: No. It's just a legal matter that I have to attend to and it's nothing for you to worry about. You certainly have enough on your mind.
Nikolas: Look up any information you need. I'll get out of your way.
Ric: You didn't tell him that you were searching for your daughter?
Monica: Yeah, Emily and I have plans to go on a spa weekend together.
Carly: Oh, just the two of you?
Carly: Mother/daughter thing -- that's great. Well, I'm jealous, actually. My mom and I talk about going away together all the time, but life gets in the way, you know?
Monica: Yeah, well, sometimes you just have to find a way to make it happen.
Carly: Ready to go see Little John?
Carly: Off to the nursery. Come on.
Emily: Um -- I just got a call from a friend of mine from Stanford -- Angela. You remember -- she was my roommate freshman year? She booked a trip to a spa in Arizona and the girl she was supposed to go with canceled at the last minute.
Emily: The trip is already booked and it's ready to go. Would you mind if you and I went another weekend?
Monica: No, no. That's ok. In fact, I remember my college friends calling me every time I needed to sneak away for a rendezvous with a man.
Sonny: Jason has a problem with me seeing his sister.
Max: Um -- are you sure you want to tell me about this?
Sonny: Well, I shouldn't have to, Max, because you see what goes on around here.
Max: I mind my own business, Mr. C. I --
Sonny: Well, that doesn't make me feel very good, Max, knowing somebody who is placed as high as you in the organization is oblivious to what the hell's going on here. Besides, I am making this your business.
Max: Do you have to, boss?
Sonny: Max. I don't want anyone bothering us on the island, so that means I need a connection here, so I am putting my trust in you.
Sonny: Jason is understandably protective of his sister. I respect that, which is why I don't want him knowing anything's going on with me and his sister.
Max: But what if he asks me-
Sonny: I wasn't done speaking, so let me just get this out again.
Sonny: I respect that, ok, about Jason and his sister, so what I'm saying is he's got too much on his plate right now.
Sonny: Do you understand what I'm saying? Sam's mourning her brother, Manny's still a problem, and until that's all settled, my personal life stays personal. Do you understand what's going on here? It seems like you got something you want to tell me, Max.
Max: Yeah, I -- I -- when Jason finds out that I knew about this and I kept him in the dark, I am a dead man.
Sonny: Ok, Jason understands that you work for me, not for him.
Max: But what if he asks me?
Sonny: You'll think of something to say, Max.
Max: Maybe you could just tell him that you --
Sonny: When I tell you to keep your mouth shut, what do you do?
Max: Keep it shut.
Sonny: Good answer.
Carly: You know, your daddy is only going to be gone for a couple of days. He'll be back in time for baseball practice.
Michael: Oh, ok. .
Carly: Look right in there.
Michael: Isn't that where Little John is staying?
Carly: It sure is. Only adults are allowed in the NICU, but you can watch me from here, ok? Yeah. Hey.
Jax: This isn't a good time to see the baby.
Carly: Do I want to know?
Elizabeth: Michael, why don't you take Morgan over there. Lift him up so you can see Baby John, ok? Go on, see the baby. A funeral parlor just released Courtney’s ashes to Nikolas.
Carly: What's Nikolas going to do with them?
Elizabeth: Scatter them at sea. But the thing is, Nikolas went behind Jax’s back after Jax said that he wanted to bury Courtney’s ashes so Little John would have a place to visit someday.
Carly: I didn't think this could get any uglier.
Elizabeth: I know. If they'd just sit down, I think they would come to an understanding.
Carly: Well, that would require some rational thinking and there's not a lot of that going on around here. Nikolas and Jax are both grieving. This could blow up in both their faces.
Sonny: Just make sure the cabana's ready, a lot of flowers, champagne on ice, you know. The fridge, make sure it's stocked up and do me a favor -- make yourself invisible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Max: Courtney's mother. She said it was important.
Sonny: Get me in 10 minutes. I got to pack and tell the pilot to get, you know, everything ready.
Max: Will do. Right this way.
Sonny: What do you want?
Janine: Um -- a little sympathy would be nice, Sonny. I just suffered a parent's worst nightmare. I just lost my little girl, I lost my Courtney.
Sonny: You have my sympathy.
Janine: Thank you. And you lost your sister. May we please put aside our differences for her sake?
Sonny: Consider them put aside. Now you can go ahead and leave.
Janine: I just think it's a little easier for you to put the pieces of your life back together. Sonny, what's going to happen to me? I'm just -- I'm a woman of a certain age who has no prospects and no Courtney to take care of me. Did you know that her entire estate is going to the foundation because she didn't write a will?
Sonny: What do you want from me, Janine?
Janine: Sonny, it's not about what I want. It's about what Courtney would want. She would want to know that I could come to you for help.
Sonny: You're -- you're serious? You expect me to support you?
Janine: We're family --
Sonny: We're nothing!
Janine: I wasted eight years of my youth on that worthless piece of garbage you call a father. I broke my back to support him and his gambling habit.
Sonny: Well, it's a good thing you got rid of him all those years, then, disappeared on him, telling Courtney he was dead. You tied up all the loose ends, though, didn't you?
Janine: See, here's the thing, Sonny -- I can still get Mike's attention when I want to because I know right where those buttons are, and I can send him back to the tables and the track and hocking everything he can beg, borrow, and steal to feed that little gambling habit of his. Or I can just go home and leave him in peace, and that is really up to you.
Sonny: Now you've made a serious error. Don't threaten Mike and never threaten me.
Skye: Thanks for coming.
Lorenzo: I'm glad you called. Been worried about you, Skye, but I'm trying not to pressure you.
Skye: I appreciate that, since I am feeling pretty fragile at the moment.
Lorenzo: Have you spoken with a doctor about carrying this baby to term?
Skye: Not yet, but I will. I do -- I promise I will. I know -- I know this is what you would want. This baby would be really important to you and --
Lorenzo: Skye, what I want is for you to be ok.
Alexis: This is a mistake.
Ric: Well, just say the word. We'll go to dinner and a movie instead, ok?
Alexis: I'm not the only person that this has ever happened to. I'm not the only teenager who got herself pregnant and -- and gave up a baby for adoption and moved on with her life. It's -- it's -- why am I doing this? Why am I doing this to myself? I mean, Mikkos and I were the only people that knew.
Ric: He never told Helena?
Alexis: Do you think he told Helena? Do you think if Helena had a bomb like this, she wouldn't have dropped it already?
Ric: I mean, she didn't have a clue?
Alexis: Why can't I just leave well enough alone? Oh, why? I just want to find out that she's ok. That's all I want to know. I don't want to disrupt her life. I -- I don't want to upset anything, I don't want to upset you, I don't want to upset the children. I just want to know that she's ok.
Ric: Alexis --
Alexis: And I -- I don't want to have to explain this to everyone, how this happened and what I did and --
Ric: It's nothing to be ashamed of, Alexis.
Alexis: Then why do I feel so guilty? And I feel panicky. I feel panic inside, like I'm going to walk through a door, I'm not going to know what's on the other side, and it could be a sheer drop and then I'll just --
Ric: Ok. Then I'll be there to catch you.
Alexis: Aren't you getting tired of doing that?
Ric: If you want to walk through that door, Alexis, I'll walk through it with you. But you don't have to think the worst. All right?
Alexis: I don't think it matters much how I feel because this is a dead end and I'll tell you why -- because he left no clue. That bastard Mikkos left no clue. There's no sign of any U.S. Attorney in here.
Ric: Then, fine. We'll find another way.
Alexis: How come you're so calm?
Ric: You're hyped up enough for both of us, all right?
Ric: I'm vibrating. Well, here you go. Now, one step back, two steps forward. The Bilmont Clinic for Unwed Mothers still exists in Chatham, Maine. Your door just opened, my love. You want to walk through it and find your daughter?
Carly: Hey. Leticia's coming to pick up the boys. Could they wait with you at the nurses' station?
Elizabeth: That or they can go play with Cameron down in daycare.
Carly: That's great, thanks. Well, how does that sound? There are tons of fun games down there.
Michael: Where are you going?
Carly: Well, I'm going to go find Jax, honey. He's really upset.
Michael: You're always gone. Morgan misses you.
Carly: Morgan misses me, huh? Hmm. Well, you know what? He is really lucky that he has a brother like you who could explain to him how fragile that baby is. You know, it's hard for Jax to be a good daddy when he's so upset. And you and Morgan, you guys are healthy and you're strong and I am so grateful for that. But John's a part of our family now. He's Aunt Courtney’s baby and she was really good to us, and we have to do whatever we can to help him. And sometimes, that means helping his daddy, too. Ok?
Jax: I didn't give you permission to take Courtney’s ashes, so you, what, you stole the remains of my ex-wife?
Nikolas: I --
Jax: Is that how you justify it?
Nikolas: I asked your permission as a courtesy to Mike. When you withheld it, I realized you had no interest in doing what Courtney would want. Therefore, I have no obligation to abide by your wishes. Excuse me.
Jax: There's no way I'm going to let you do this.
Nikolas: Don't make this any more pathetic than it already is, Jax.
Jax: Courtney's son has the right to visit his mother's grave.
Nikolas: You cling so desperately to the fact that you're that boy's biological father and that is a sad twist of fate if you ask me because Courtney always hated how you tried to control her when she was alive and here you are trying again.
Jax: How can you ignore the one person that Courtney loved the most -- her son, ok? If you do this, Nikolas, you rob him of a place to visit his mother.
Nikolas: A place -- Jax, take him to the ocean; tell him how much she loved that. Tell him about all the places that she wanted to visit. Hell, take him to visit them yourself -- that's what she would want.
Jax: No, that's what you would want. You want to interpret her wishes from beyond the grave. I mean, you're so desperate to hold on to her, you can't see past your own pain. You're a selfish bastard, you know that?
Carly: Hey. Knock it off. If Courtney were here, she'd kick both your butts.
Skye: Lorenzo, you didn't know Diego until he was fully grown and then you lost him to prison.
Lorenzo: Well, it would change my increasingly cynical existence to be able to raise a child from birth, give me a chance to screw things up from the beginning.
Lorenzo: That doesn't really matter. What matters is you, your health, and your life. I won't take any chances with that, Skye.
Skye: Well, you know, it's been a long time since I was told I couldn't have a successful pregnancy. There's been incredible advances in medicine and there are all kinds of doctors who deal with -- oh, my God, listen to me. This is crazy. We -- we've barely dated. We slept together once and now we're talking about parenthood? I'm just -- I'm not ready for this.
Lorenzo: Ok, what does that mean? What do you want to do?
Sonny: You worked Courtney for money when she was alive, now you're cashing in on her death? You give trailer trash a bad name, Janine.
Janine: Sonny, the only difference between you and me is you take what you want at gunpoint and that's what all this stuff is, because you know as much about hard work and sacrifice as your father and you've got no business judging me.
Sonny: That would actually mean that I give you a moment's thought.
Janine: Well, maybe you should, because I raised your sister.
Sonny: Yeah, right, you --
Janine: And I stood up while Mike took every dime that I earned! So, yeah, I started a new life to support me and Courtney, and you're right -- I did eventually take money from my own daughter. And now you're going to help me, if not to ease your conscience about the way you treated her, then to help Mike, because I will take him on a gambling jag so deep that he will be in debt for the rest of his life!
Sonny: You want money? You want money? I'll give you money. Here you go. Here you go. Look at that. Look at that. You like that? Take it -- $100. Come on, take it! Take it! You want more? Take that. Go ahead, get on your knees. Take it! Get down there! Get on your knees. That make you happy? But I tell you what -- you show your face in this town again and I will see to it that you regret it!
Janine: You get off your high horse. You're a thug in a fancy suit, that's what you are!
Sonny: Get the hell out of here, you greedy bitch! Go! Yeah, that's right! How much did you hear?
Emily: Enough to know you were both pretty upset.
Sonny: Janine came for some money and she was going to get what she came for.
Emily: It had to be more than that for you to be so angry.
Sonny: I never wanted to see that look in your eyes right now. You're afraid of me.
Jax: Oh, we all lost Courtney, but the rest of us still managed to show some respect for her memory, and don't tell me you loved her because it doesn't justify what you're doing.
Nikolas: I -- I am the only one who is thinking about what Courtney would want. Ok? And surely it's not for her son to visit some rock in the ground. He -- he should be told about how alive she was. He should be taken to the beach in Atlantic City to feel the water. That -- that's what she would want.
Carly: She'd also want you guys to stop attacking each other. Look, Jax, it is obvious that Nikolas feels very strongly about scattering Courtney’s ashes. Why can you not give him that? Jax, come on.
Jax: All right. Fine.
Carly: You did a good thing.
Jax: No, I didn't do it for Nikolas.
Skye: I don't know what to do. You know, I spent a lot of years accepting the fact that I never thought that I'd be able to have children and I decided that was ok with me, you know? And then one day, you decide to ask me to the ballet and we're talking about having a baby?
Lorenzo: Look, Skye, it may not even be an issue. You won't know until you hear what the doctors have to say about it.
Skye: I know. I just -- I can't quite seem to pick up the phone and make that appointment.
Lorenzo: Do you think it'll get easier the longer you put it off?
Skye: I don't want to get attached to a pregnancy that I think I'm going to have to end, ok? And I don't want to go see the doctor because I'm afraid that's exactly what she's going to tell me I'm going to have to do and I don't want to drag this thing out because I'm afraid that I'm going to get attached to a baby that I can never have.
Lorenzo: So are you going to remain glued to that chair and wait to get hit by lightning?
Skye: Is that such a bad thing?
Lorenzo: Oh. You know, I got hit by lightning recently, during the epidemic.
Skye: Yeah, you were one of the few people who didn't get sick.
Lorenzo: Right. But I had to look at my world in a whole new way when you did. It made me realize how much I enjoy you, that you mean something to me. And when you were so close to death and, you know, I have to be honest with you, Skye -- I was prepared to do anything to save you. Wasn't some gradual realization. The way I feel about you is like a bolt out of the blue.
Skye: The proverbial lightning. Lorenzo, we were in a life-or-death situation.
Lorenzo: Right. Well, now, we're just talking about life -- you, me, and a baby. Look, I know it's a lot to think about. I don't want to pressure you, Skye.
Skye: I know. And I appreciate that, I do since I don't have a clue as to what to do, even how I feel.
Alexis: Hasn't changed in all these years, not since I was 16 years old.
Doctor: We try to make your stay here as comfortable as possible, Alexis. There's nothing to be afraid of. We'll take good care of you. And I promise, we'll find your baby a good home.
Alexis: I've been afraid for so long, not being able to decide what to do, that it was honestly a relief to have someone decide that for me. I knew that they would take care of me.
Woman: The director will see you.
Director: Mr. and Mrs. Lansing, is it?
Ric: Yes, yes.
Director: I'm Lawrence Abell. What can I do for you?
Ric: We're trying to track down a girl. She'd be a young woman by now, born here at Bilmont, May 11, 1980. Our client has asked us to find this infant who was born here on that day. I can provide you with the birth mother's information if that helps you.
Lawrence: No, I'm afraid that's impossible. The terms of any adoption agreement prohibit us from releasing all information.
Alexis the girl was underage. I'm sure she didn't sign anything. In fact, her father coerced her into giving up the baby.
Lawrence: Our policy is for the protection of the adoptee.
Ric: Look, I'm sure this happens all the time -- people come to you for answers. Children are reunited with their birth parents all the time. I think it gives both parties the opportunity for closure.
Lawrence: Well, I'm sorry, but if we don't honor the original agreement, we open ourselves up to all kinds of litigation.
Alexis: What if I promise not to sue?
Ric: Alexis --
Alexis: The truth is, Dr. Abell, is that I'm the client. My name was Alexis Davidovitch. In 1980, I gave birth to a baby daughter and my father coerced me into giving her up. I was 16 years old. I don't want to impose on her. I don't even want to confront her. I just want to know that she's all right.
Lawrence: I'm sorry. I know it's not easy for you, but I can't release adoption information.
Alexis: Is there anything that you could tell me about her at all? Is she married? Is she alive? Is she -- anything?
Lawrence: Let me check the file and see if there's something that wouldn't violate confidentiality.
Alexis: Thank you. It's Davidovitch.
Lawrence: Yeah. Here you are. The adoption was handled by a law firm in Manhattan.
Alexis: Do you know which firm?
Lawrence: That information's restricted. I'm sorry, but there's really nothing here I can help you with.
Alexis: I -- I --
Ric: It's all right. You know what? Thank you very much, doctor. Will you excuse me? I need to make a phone call. I'll be right back.
Lawrence: Once the decision's been made to give up a child, it's oft wiser to leave it be.
Alexis: To protect the child, I know.
Lawrence: To protect everyone.
Lorenzo: I can't deny that I'm invested in the idea of this child, but it's -- it's your body. You're the one carrying it. It's your life. Don't put yourself at risk because I want a child.
Skye: You know, I think that you might be my excuse. I'm so caught between the fear of losing this baby and the hope that I won’t. Oh, I could so easily fall in love with the idea of being someone's mother.
Lorenzo: Let's get all the facts before you drive yourself crazy, be sure that it's safe. And no matter what we find out, I will be there right beside you.
Skye: Lorenzo Alcazar, you are a gentleman.
Lorenzo: I'm not doing this because it's polite or because it's the right thing to do. What's going on here is bigger than the both of us and I refuse to let you go through this without me.
Skye: Hello? Yes. I'd like to make an appointment for a prenatal exam. Yes. The father will definitely be there.
Sonny: I'm glad this happened now before we go any deeper. I'm going to go ahead and cancel the trip, ok?
Emily: Wait, wait, wait -- Sonny? Sonny? How about having this conversation with me instead of jumping to conclusions?
Sonny: Emily, I'm sorry that you had to see that.
Emily: I'm not afraid of you, Sonny, but I don't like someone that I care about being so upset. So why don't you try talking to me, not at me? What happened before I got here?
Sonny: Ah --
Sonny: Janine came by, ok, with her hand out ready to cash in on Courtney’s death. I did not play along, so she threatened mike. She said she was going to get him to start gambling again and then destroy his life.
Emily: And you reacted badly, which --
Emily: In my opinion was more than justified. By the way, I've been known to kick in a wall or two.
Sonny: Don't make -- no, no, no. See, that's -- I don't want you making excuses for me, Emily. That's exactly what I'm -- you're better than that.
Emily: Sonny? Somewhere along the way, you decided that you have to be perfect for me, that I expected or deserved someone who isn't even real.
Sonny: I don't want you sugarcoating --
Emily: No, no, stop it.
Sonny: What I do.
Emily: Please listen to me. I am not looking for an idealized version of romantic love. I thought I had that once, and it didn't last. Who you are, what we are is real. It's honest and it's scary and it comes from someplace deep inside of me that I've never felt before. I don't want safe. I don't want perfect. Sonny, I want -- you. I want us to go away where we don't have to feel guilty or worried that we're going to be discovered. I want us to be someplace where -- where we can be silly or happy or whatever it is that we're feeling in that moment.
Elizabeth: Leticia just picked up Michael and Morgan.
Carly: Oh, thanks. Thank you.
Elizabeth: Is everything ok?
Jax: Yeah. Carly convinced me to let it go. Nikolas is going to get it his way, but I'm telling you, Elizabeth, he's -- he's out of control.
Elizabeth: I'll speak with Lucky. He might be the one person who can get through to Nikolas.
Carly: You know, I can't figure out if it's your ego, your heart, or your pride that wouldn't let Nikolas have Courtney’s ashes.
Jax: Courtney's gone. It's time for Nikolas to accept that.
Carly: You have John. You have Courtney’s son and now that she is gone, Nikolas has no rights to that little boy. You can afford to be generous, Jax.
Lawrence: Not all adoptees want to find their birth parents. Unless they instigate the search, it can often be disruptive.
Alexis: Is there any way you would be able to know if she tried to find me?
Lawrence: Late teens to early 20s is when people usually try to find out where they came from.
Alexis: She's past that by now.
Lawrence: Well, then, she's probably not interested or had never been told.
Alexis: I really just want to find out if she's all right. I -- I won't approach her.
Lawrence: I'm sure that's your intention, but once the birth mother locates the child, that resolve can weaken. I'm sorry, but I can't make an exception for you.
Ric: Ah, sorry. It was important.
Alexis: We can go.
Lawrence: Thank you.
Ric: I understand. Thank you very much for all your help.
Alexis: I didn't realize how much I wanted to find her until I was told that I couldn’t.
Ric: Hold your hand out. Remember how much you like when I help?
Alexis: What is this?
Ric: Well, I wasn't really making a phone call before. I snuck into the administration office and I hacked into their computer. That is the name of the Manhattan law firm that handled the adoption for Mikkos. Now you can spend the entire evening buying me dinner and telling me how wonderful I am while we an the next step for your search for your daughter.
Alexis: I'll tell you anything you want. Thank you. Thank you.
Emily: How long to the island?
Sonny: We're not going to the island.
Emily: Well, is there trouble?
Sonny: No, there's not any -- I mean, unless the pilot gets drunk and --
Sonny: But Max does have to keep his mouth shut.
Emily: You're worried that Jason might track us down?
Sonny: Yeah, that's part of it. Let's see, what -- the island has a lot of memories for me, a lot of history -- some of it bad, most of it great. But I just want us to have, you know, new memories, kind of our own.
Emily: So you kidnapped me. No, I think I like it.
Sonny: You want me to tell you where we're going?
Emily: Honestly, Sonny, I don't care -- as long as we're alone and no one can find us.
Carly: Hi, Max. I need to talk to Sonny. Sonny?
Max: He's -- he's not here.
Carly: Hey, Sonny? Not here?
Carly: Ok, I'll wait. He needs to put off this trip this weekend. I need him to keep the boys for a couple of days.
Max: Oh, you're too late. He's already taken off.
Carly: Well, he didn't waste any time. Is he in trouble?
Max: No, no, no, no. He's not in any danger. He's just -- he needed to give something his personal attention.
Carly: All right. You can tell Sonny he needs to come home as soon as possible. He's not the only one with a life.
Max: I'll give him the message.
Jax: You know, Nikolas wants to scatter Courtney’s ashes into the ocean. I hope that's ok with you, John. I hope that you won't feel cheated that you won't be able to go and visit your mother. But I -- I couldn't stop him. Nikolas is your father. But he's also a Cassadine. Cassadines are -- they're not a very nice family. They've ruined Nikolas. I'm not going to let them ruin you. You know, you could've been my son. Well, I guess now you are. Promise that I'll keep you safe. I'll give you the best life that I possibly can. I know that's -- that's what your mother would have wanted.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Jax: Carly and I have resolved our differences.
Robin: When are you going to realize she's setting you up?
Justus: Something of this magnitude cannot go ahead without Jax’s consent.
Carly: Jax trusts me.
Man: How can I help you?
