Sam: Ok, thanks for rushing this. I'll wait for your call.
Jason: Rushing what?
Sam: The D.N.A. test results. They should be in by the end of the day.
Jason: You're really worried about this.
Sam: I just -- you know, I want it out of the way. I know that Danny was my biological brother, and I want to prove it.
Jason: I just -- I hope you're right.
Sam: My mother had no use for me, but she was still my mom. I can't believe some stranger gave me away as a baby.
Ric: Alexis, I'd like to get to the memorial early if we could, just in case Sonny's -- what's that?
Alexis: A lock of hair isn't the only reminder of the baby that I gave away. I found this.
Ric: A letter?
Alexis: A letter from my father -- who I thought was my uncle at the time. Cassadine family politics is nothing if not arcane or convoluted.
Ric: So Mikkos wrote you a letter about the daughter that you gave up?
Alexis: A very brief letter saying that everything had been handled. Kind of like arranging for a car or a trip. The baby had been "handled."
Ric: Mm-hmm. I thought you were wanting to let this go.
Sonny: Oh, man.
Emily: Thank you. Hi. Are you here to see your nephew?
Sonny: Uh -- yeah. I want to tell him that he's got a whole family who loves him and we'll tell him about his mother.
Sonny: I wasn't a very good brother to Courtney, but at least I can be a good uncle to her son.
Emily: Are you going to be speaking at Courtney’s memorial?
Sonny: Um -- I don't think so. I mean, Mike's been through a lot. The last thing he wants to do is hear me talk.
Emily: Yeah, I've thought it over, and I think the best thing for me to do is to stay away. With everything that's happened, I just think I'm going to make everybody uncomfortable.
Sonny: I understand. Can you -- can you do me a favor?
Sonny: Can you say a prayer for me and my father? I don't know how I'm going to get Mike through this day.
Emily: Sonny, you love him. That's all anyone could ask or -- or want you to do.
Carly: How's John?
Jax: He's -- he's good. He's doing better all the time.
Carly: Can't say that for yourself, though, can you?
Jax: Huh. You know, I totally lost track of time, I should be heading over at the church. But I got to go home first and shave.
Carly: Your shaving kit and some clean clothes are right outside.
Jax: Did you let yourself into my apartment?
Carly: Well, your super was very understanding, and he appreciated the tip. Go ahead, I'll sit with John. Go get ready.
Jax: Ok. I appreciate it, I really do.
Carly: Hey there, John. How you doing today, hmm? You're doing better, I can tell, yeah. Hmm. I sure wish your mommy could be here to see you. She would be so proud and just bursting with love. I can't believe this day's here, you know? I just can't believe I'm saying goodbye to your mommy.
Elizabeth: Nikolas? The housekeeper let us in.
Lucky: Yeah, we're here to take you to the memorial.
Lucky: He's not here.
Elizabeth: We need to find him.
Lucky: Come on.
Jason: Sam, you know what? You don't -- you don't have to go to the memorial. I know that you're still recovering from everything and everything that happened with Danny and, you know, since Courtney was --
Sam: Jason, Courtney is -- was a very important part of your life, and I -- I think you need to grieve for her on your own and --
Jason: Ok, it's -- it's just -- it's not that I don't want you to go --
Sam: And it's not that I'm bailing on you.
Sam: I love you.
Jason: I love you, too.
Mike: The church really looks beautiful. Um -- I'm sorry I wasn't more help.
Father Coates: No, Carly took over. She made all the decisions, took care of the decorations. She felt it's what Courtney would've wanted.
Mike: Yeah, she was right.
Father Coates: I'm so sorry for your loss, Mike.
Mike: Yeah, thank you -- thank you, father. Thank you.
Father Coates: Excuse me.
Lainey: Hey, Mike.
Justus: My condolences, Mike. Your daughter was very special, and she was amazing with those kids from the Foundation.
Mike: Yeah, she was.
Lainey: Courtney will definitely be missed. You can be so proud of everything she accomplished, huh? I'm sorry.
Mike: Yeah. Thanks. Whew.
Janine: "Proud" is about the last thing you're entitled to feel.
Mike: Who called you?
Janine: Carly thought I might want to go to our daughter's memorial. After all, I'm the one who raised Courtney and took responsibility -- as opposed to her loving father, who squandered every dime I earned.
Mike: Listen, you want to hate me, you do it later. That's not what this memorial is about.
Michael: Grandpa Mike.
Mike: Hey, Michael. Hey, it's good to see you, kiddo. Uh -- does your mom and dad know you're here?
Max: He wanted to come.
Michael: I'm real sad that Aunt Courtney’s gone. But if everybody takes a little bit of the sadness, maybe it'll help.
Mike: Yeah, kiddo.
Sonny: Hey, how you holding up?
Carly: Not so good. It's just -- um -- I can't believe Courtney’s not with us anymore.
Sonny: Courtney loved you like a sister.
Carly: I keep thinking of things that I want to tell her, then I go to pick up the phone and I realize I'm never going to be able to call her again.
Sonny: She wanted to come over for Christmas, I said no because she -- she wanted to bring Nikolas, and right now it just seems so pointless, stupid.
Carly: No. You know, Courtney understood you better than you realize. And she knew how much you loved her.
Sonny: That's why I'm here. I wanted just to, you know, see my little nephew. I'm not going to get in the way, Carly. I mean, I know that Jax and I don't get along, but he -- he's family, and I just want to make sure he's provided for.
Carly: Jax is a good father, you know? He's overwhelmed right now with everything, but he's learning just like every parent.
Sonny: Thank you for taking care of Little John.
Carly: I want to. I want to do it for Courtney. This little baby deserves to have a great beginning, and I'm the closest thing he has to a mother. I just want him to know how much I love him.
Sonny: He knows, Carly, he knows.
Sonny: Listen, I'm going to go --
Jax: Hey. Ready to go?
Skye: This is ridiculous. I'm absolutely fine.
Lorenzo: You weren't yesterday when you fainted in the park.
Skye: I overexerted myself.
Lorenzo: Or the fever's coming back.
Skye: Robin took my temperature, and it was normal.
Lorenzo: Skye, humor me. I spent a lot of time worrying about the fact that you were going to die. I just want to be sure you're all right.
Robin: I have the results of your blood work. There is no trace of the virus in your system.
Lorenzo: Then what made her pass out?
Kelly: I think I have the answer to that. Maybe you'd like some privacy?
Lorenzo: I'll wait outside.
Skye: No, I'd -- I'd like you to stay. What's wrong with me?
Kelly: You are pregnant. Excuse me,
Justus: Someplace to be?
Lainey: Actually, I have a meeting with a bus.
Elizabeth: No sign of Nikolas.
Lucky: Well, try not to worry. Maybe Nikolas is just running late to avoid well-meaning condolences.
Elizabeth: How could you be so calm? The study at Wyndermere was completely trashed.
Lucky: Maybe Nikolas just needed to blow off some steam, let out a little anger and grief.
Elizabeth: You really believe that?
Lucky: I'm trying to.
Jason: Hey, bud. How you doing?
Michael: I'm ok. I miss Courtney already.
Jax: I didn't realize you'd be stopping by.
Sonny: I just decided to -- is that all right, or --
Jax: Yeah, it's -- it's fine.
Sonny: Ok. Well, I'm going to head to the church.
Carly: I'll see you there.
Sonny: Yeah. Um -- you know what, Jax? If you ever need any kind of help with Courtney’s son, you just let me know?
Jax: I appreciate that.
Sonny: Jax, one more thing. I really am sorry for your loss and for any interference I may have caused you or Courtney. We all have a right to be with whoever we want.
Jax: Well. For a moment there, he actually had me believing he was sincere.
Carly: Sonny is going to love his nephew, but he's never going to take him away from you. You're going to have to get used to Sonny stopping by when you rent the house next to me, you know.
Jax: I haven't made a decision about that.
Carly: But it's for the baby. It is. I mean, haven't you seen yourself how hard parenting can be all by yourself?
Jax: I'm going to hire a nanny.
Carly: Well, a nanny can't love this baby like a mother the way I can. Don't overthink it, just do it, Jax.
Jax: I'm going to take advice from you?
Carly: Oh, come on. I think it's great, and I think it's perfect. We can change diapers and go over hotel stuff together. You can -- you can see me dead on my feet with no makeup on, and I can figure out all your deepest, darkest secrets. I was just kidding about that last part there. Um -- not a day for jokes. Let's go.
Carly: Come on.
Jax: I'll be back.
Kelly: I take it you're surprised?
Skye: That's an understatement.
Kelly: Well -- uh -- hopefully it's happy news.
Robin: We'll let you two discuss this in private. And, by the way, there's no chance of the baby having the virus.
Lorenzo: Thank you. I was under the impression --
Skye: What, that I was infertile? Yeah, I remember trying to maneuver you into telling me where Luke was by claiming I was pregnant and you called my bluff -- rightly so. I -- uh -- I really didn't think that this could happen. You know, I -- I think I need a few -- a few minutes to process this.
Lorenzo: There's no delicate way to put this. Is there a question of fatherhood?
Lorenzo: Well, then I'll need a moment to process, too.
Alexis: I am so sorry.
Carly: What are you doing here?
Coleman: Paying my respects.
Carly: Since when did you respect Courtney?
Coleman: From the day I met her, all right? She was an optimist, never gave up, got bitter. I admired her. Now, if you're done with the interrogation, I'm going to have a seat.
Sonny: Come here. Did Max bring you here?
Michael: Please don't be mad at him, dad. I love Aunt Courtney; I really wanted to be here.
Sonny: Why didn't you tell me or your mother?
Michael: Because I didn't really want to hear you say no because then I'd have to disobey.
Sonny: Ok, that -- there's a lot of wrong in what you just said, but we're not going to get into it right now, ok?
Carly: Hey, you sure you want to be here? You know, this is going to be really sad.
Michael: I'll be ok
Sonny: Why don't we just all sit right here.
Carly: Ok. Courtney would like that.
Father Coates: We are here to celebrate the life of a very extraordinary woman.
Nikolas: Look at all of you, pretending to grieve for Courtney. It'd be laughable if it weren't so pathetic. Sonny, you only -- you only acknowledged Courtney as your sister when it was convenient for you. When you -- when you didn't agree with the choices that she made, you ignored her, told her she wasn't welcome in your home. You couldn't even be bothered to stay at the hospital the night -- the night that she died, and he knew that she was sick. I mean, if the positions were reversed, she wouldn't have left him. But you never even -- you never even gave her a second thought. Janine, Courtney’s mother, told Courtney that her father was dead because she was mad at him. Alan called her a whore and a murderer, didn't you? Jason -- Jason here married Courtney, pulled her into his iconic life of crime, which caused her to lose the baby, and then he abandoned her. Jax -- Courtney’s supposed happily-ever-after. You used her to have a baby. What is that? And for those of you who -- who didn't call Courtney names to her face -- you did so behind her back, and she knew it. You're all hypocrites. It is a miracle, a miracle, Father, that the ceiling hasn't fallen in on the whole damn lot of you.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, stop. I know you're grieving, but this isn't helping anyone.
Nikolas: Why do you care? You never liked or approved of Courtney. You tried endlessly to convince me that I wasn't in love with her, that we had no future. Well, it turns out you were right. Courtney has no future -- with anyone.
Elizabeth: She wouldn't want you doing this, Nikolas. I know you're hurting and you want the rest of us to hurt, but this will not bring her back.
Nikolas: No, it won’t. Nothing will bring Courtney back, which I'm sure is a relief to all of you! You can gradually forget what you did to Courtney, how you treated her. All she ever wanted was for everyone in her life to be happy, and this is what she gets for it.
Father Coates: It's a difficult day for all of us. So why don't we just proceed with the rest -- Welcome. Our first speaker will be Courtney’s father. Mike?
Mike: Nobody -- nobody said life was fair. Um -- and -- uh -- usually I can talk and say things. But -- uh --
Sonny: Hey -- you don't have to do it. You go sit down, ok?
Sonny: Yeah, it's true I did not know my sister very well. Ahem. But I do know that she wouldn't have wanted to be remembered with blame or anger. First of all, I want to thank everybody for coming. I know Courtney would've appreciated it. I was stunned to find out I had a sister. I wanted us to be close, but I didn't know how to follow through. Courtney and I were different, you know, in so many ways, and I tried to protect her, and I went too far. I told her what to do, who to be with. I lost sight of the fact that she was her own person; she has the right to make her own decisions. So I drove my sister away, and I never found time to get her back. Courtney was all about family and love and bringing everybody together. She -- she believed the biggest sin was abandoning children and keeping them from their parents and depriving them of love. It's wrong that Courtney’s gone, it's wrong that the world has lost someone with so much kindness and generosity, and it's really wrong that her little boy will never experience the love of his mother. I know that if Courtney want-- wanted to ask us one thing, she would want us to take care of that little boy and give him the best of ourselves.
Carly: I'd like to talk about my friend. No, I'd -- I'd like to talk to my friend. You know, I didn't make friends easily, especially with women. They always seem to be threatened by me. But you weren’t. You were the optimist. You could find the good in someone; you always knew how to pull it out of them. You were such a joy. You would just stare at that silly snow globe I gave you for hours. And you just loved the snow. You said it made the world a beautiful place, but you know what, you did. Your smile would light up a room. You loved so deeply and righteously -- people, trees, dogs, children. You wanted so badly to have a family of your own. And then the night you left us, you got your wish. A beautiful baby boy -- truly a miracle. You know, Courtney is alive in that little boy, and she's alive in me, and she's alive in everyone here. And we will never, ever let you be forgotten.
Ric: You know, what you said before about not running out of time? I'm not going to let that happen with us.
Sonny: Courtney was a forgiving person. Maybe I should learn from her example.
Ric: Yeah, we all should. Alexis. Mike.
Elizabeth: Should we look for Nikolas?
Lucky: No. I think it's best if we just leave him alone.
Justus: That was really sweet of you to bring the kids from the Foundation.
Lainey: You know, they loved her so much. They wanted to pay their respects. Yeah.
Carly: Michael and I have something we kind of have to do for Courtney. You ok?
Jax: No. But it was -- it was a nice ceremony.
Carly: Yeah, it was. A few surprises.
Jax: Well, I think -- I think people just said what was on their minds. It was good, you know? I certainly have a lot of wrongs to right.
Carly: All you have to do is give Little John the best father he could ask for. That's all.
Jax: I'm not sure I deserve that honor.
Carly: Don't be so hard on yourself. You know, we've all made mistakes.
Carly: You're very devoted to Little John. He's lucky to have you.
Jax: I do love him.
Carly: That's all you need to do.
Jason: Courtney couldn't have had a better friend than you.
Carly: I could sure use a friend right now.
Skye: You know, there was a time in my life when all I wanted was to have a child. I don't know if it was really for the right reasons -- maybe to make up for a lousy childhood or to prove I was a responsible adult, which was a complete joke at the time, considering I couldn't even handle one single crisis without a drink in my hand. I don't know, maybe I just wanted someone who would love me and never leave me.
Lorenzo: You gave up drinking, Skye. And you are a kind, generous, loving woman with a lot to offer this child.
Skye: It's not that simple.
Lorenzo: Right. Am I the reason you're scared to bring this child into the world?
Lorenzo: You have every right to be concerned.
Skye: Lorenzo, it has nothing to do with you, I swear. I was in this accident once. I was drinking -- if you can believe that -- and -- uh -- it left me with this condition. You see, I -- I really want this baby, but I'm afraid that I can't have it.
Skye: Because -- um -- I was told if I ever tried to have a child, the baby would die before I could carry it to term.
Ric: Thanks for coming with me to the memorial.
Alexis: At least Sonny and Carly both did a -- a very good job; they were very effective. If you'll still help me, I think it's time to find out what happened to my daughter.
Robin: Sam, it's Robin. The D.N.A. test came back on Danny.
Robin: He wasn't your biological brother.
Sam: Are you sure?
Robin: The results are conclusive. One or both of you must've been adopted.
Sam: Ok. Um -- thanks for getting back to me tonight. Ok. So who was my mom?
Jax: You know, once upon a time before we knew you were coming, your mommy made me the happiest person on earth. Her father told me to take care of his princess. And I should've -- I should've done better. But I promise -- I promise that I'll never let you down.
Courtney's voice: I love you, Jax. You have been so patient while I learned what you already knew.
Courtney: We belong together. You're the one I want beside me in the good times and the one I want to lean on in the bad. Promise to love, honor, cherish, and trust you for the rest of my days.
Singer: Who can say why your heart sighs as your love flies only time and who can say why your heart cries when your love dies? Only time
Singer: Who can say when the roads meet that love might be
Courtney’s voice: Jason, I am afraid for you. God, look at you, you're still hurt.
Jason: No, it's ok. I'm all right.
Courtney: No, I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you. When I saw you laying on that floor, I thought --
Singer: If the night keeps all your heart night keeps all your heart
Nikolas's voice: You remember that night at Alcazar's stables? You remember?
Courtney's voice: Yeah, yeah.
Nikolas's voice: You were just so easy to talk to. And I knew that night that we had something special, you know, we were connected then. And I think that we have been ever since.
Singer: As your heart chose only time
Nikolas: I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?
Singer: Only time
Courtney: I love you. Please don't ever doubt that. I'm just not certain that I can marry you.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Alexis: I'm praying that I find out that she's happy and has had a great life.
Sam: I don't know who I am.
Sonny: Is there any chance that we can meet tonight?
Carly: Wow, you must be getting some good news.
Robin: But Carly?
Jax: She's been really great.
Robin: I don't know why you would let her near your child.
