Carly: I'm surprised that Emily came here. Leticia's perfectly capable of taking care of the boys, and Emily’s almost a doctor.
Sonny: She was exhausted, she fainted, and they sent her home.
Carly: Though she came here?
Sonny: I asked her to come here.
Carly: You slept with her, didn't you? Didn't you?
Sonny: You -- you don't understand what went down here while you were gone. We went to hell and back. She's -- you know, Emily’s the reason that I'm -- I'm even talking right now. I mean, she -- she never left my side, and she saved my life.
Robert: Listen to this. "This is a sample of the antidote. There's more, but it will cost you."
Monica: Oh --
Luke: Some bastard's planning to turn a profit off this virus?
Patrick: That's extortion.
Luke: It's politics as usual, isn't it, Scorpio?
Monica: Well, we have no choice. We have to pay whatever they ask.
Robert: We're going to find out whoever it is, and we will get the antidote.
Noah: We need to get this to the lab to see if it's viable.
Robert: Yeah. If it is, it's Robin’s. Right, Patrick?
Courtney: I wish I could hold my baby.
Jax: Nikolas is here. She's been waiting for you.
Nikolas: Thanks. How you feeling?
Courtney: I love you, Nikolas.
Nikolas: Courtney? No. No. No. Come on, Courtney, stay with me. Stay with me, sweetie.
Jax: We need help! We need help in here!
Nikolas: Stay with me.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, get back. All right, stand by. Ok.
Nurse: She's ready.
Kelly: Yeah. Clear.
Elizabeth: Ok, ok.
Nikolas: Breathe. Breathe. For God sakes, breathe. Come on.
Kelly: There's no response.
Nikolas: Again. Do it again!
Nikolas: Come on, breathe. Breathe, please.
Kelly: She's gone.
Nikolas: Keep trying.
Kelly: Mr. Cassadine --
Nikolas: Damn it, you do it or I will!
Nikolas: Come on. Come on, please, God. No, no, she's not dead. Give me --
Kelly: Mr. Cassadine --
Elizabeth: Nikolas, nikolas --
Jax: Nikolas, nikolas --
Nikolas: She can't be dead.
Jax: It's over!
Elizabeth: I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Kelly: Time of death, 8:53 P.M.
Jason: You just rest. Conserve your energy. We're going to find more of the antidote.
Sam: Ok. I know it's going to be a lot easier now that you're back. Will you do me a favor, though? Can you please check on my brother, Danny? I know he's got to be really scared with no one there with him.
Monica: So how is everybody?
Alexis: Monica, why don't you tell us?
Sam: Have you heard anything about my brother, Danny?
Monica: I'm heading that way shortly. Welcome home.
Jason: Thank you. I'm glad you're ok.
Monica: Thanks. Can I talk to you? Somebody sent us a single dose of the antidote. They're holding the rest hostage for money.
Jason: But there is at least one dose here right now?
Monica: Well, I'm afraid that is for Robin.
Robin: Has Luke been able to produce any more antibody serum?
Patrick: He may not need to. A vial of the antidote was delivered to the hospital.
Robin: How much?
Patrick: One dose. We checked it, it's viable, and you get it.
Robin: No, take it to the lab. They can duplicate it.
Patrick: We're already trying to cross-engineer it. First things first -- are you ready to be a test patient?
Robin: No. You got to give it to another patient.
Patrick: I hate to break this to you, Robin, but you are a patient.
Robin: Well, I can't take the only dose.
Robert: This isn't up for debate. Now, just give her the shot!
Nikolas: You tell me how a woman goes from being happy and healthy and full of life to nothing. Hmm? It's disgusting. She finally gets her miracle baby, then loses her life.
Elizabeth: She knew the risks. She had to save her little boy.
Nikolas: We were all so worried about the baby. I never imagined that Courtney would be the one to die.
Robin: You have to give the antidote to the patient who's most in need.
Patrick: Don't explain the rules to me, Robin, I helped make them. Besides, you meet the criteria.
Robin: If it's just because you feel sorry for me, then --
Patrick: I can barely tolerate you, but I don't want you to die. Besides, you're a doctor, you're valuable, we need you.
Robert: Just give her the shot! I'll hold her down if you need.
Robin: Sorry, but you don't get a say in this. You don't even know me. You know, in case you haven't noticed, I'm not the same little girl that I was when you left.
Robert: Here's the deal. Now, you take the antidote, and you -- you get to remind me of what a dirtbag I am for the rest of my life.
Robin: This is an ethical decision, dad -- not your area of expertise. Look, I don't want to get special treatment because I'm H.I.V.-positive or because I'm a doctor. There are plenty of ill people here that have something to offer. Pick the one who's most in need.
Elizabeth: Emily, where are you?
Emily: At Sonny’s.
Elizabeth: Is he there with you?
Emily: No, no, no, I'm in the guesthouse. Elizabeth, something's wrong.
Elizabeth: Someone needs to tell him. His sister --
Emily: I was with Sonny when -- when you called before. Courtney had a baby boy, right? Is he ok?
Elizabeth: Yeah. The baby's ok. It's -- it's Courtney. She didn't make it.
Emily: Oh my God.
Lulu: Yeah, freshman year, there was this guy Colin in my science class -- so cute -- and we were partners for this science project. So we had this insane deadline, and we were pulling all-nighters for days, and it was so intense and all-consuming, like nothing else mattered. Just me, Colin, cold pizza, and Watson and Crick's double helix.
Skye: So was Colin your first love?
Lulu: I don't know. I mean, we turned in our project, and then we realized we had nothing in common -- kind of like you and Mr. Alcazar.
Skye: Lorenzo and I have a lot in common, ok? We understand each other, we respect each other -- which is very refreshing, let me tell you. And he's a gentleman and he cares about me.
Lulu: Hmm. And he's also useful when you want to make my dad's eyes turn green.
Skye: I have no interest in making Luke jealous, ok? Lulu, listen, I -- I care about your father very much. But our romance -- such as it was -- is over.
Luke: Hey. I hear they're busting the two of you out of here to make room for sick people.
Skye: So they say. I will go get Lorenzo and tell him that we're ready to go.
Lulu: Oh, and, Skye? I got an A on that project.
Skye: Yeah, well, that's because you're a little too smart for your own good.
Lulu: Did I ever thank you for saving my life?
Luke: You're welcome. Oh, Lulu. You know, I almost watched you die once before -- when you were a baby.
Luke: That time I couldn't do a damn thing about it.
Lulu: Then Nikolas gave me his bone marrow.
Luke: Yeah. Well, this time it was Spencer blood that saved you. It should've been that way the first time, but you play the cards you're dealt. And speaking of that, princess, it looks like it's just you and me against the world.
Sam: How's my brother?
Jason: His fever is worse. But Robin's refused the antidote. There's one dose available.
Sam: God, please -- please let them give it to my brother.
Jason: It's going to be Patrick’s decision.
Sam: Ok. Ok, Jason, I want to see him. I want to see my brother.
Jason: Ok -- hey, are you ok?
Sam: Yeah. Danny needs me.
Jason: Easy, easy.
Sonny: No matter what we've been through -- all the back and forth, the arguing -- whatever -- you know that all I want for you is to be happy.
Carly: I know that, Sonny.
Sonny: And I think that that's what you want for me, too, right?
Carly: I get no joy out of seeing you miserable.
Sonny: Ok, so let's -- you know, we shouldn't go back to the same old patterns. You may not like what I have to say to you, but you know I'm not going to lie to you, because I know you can handle the truth, you know? Wherever my life goes, I mean --
Emily: I --
Emily: I just got a call from Elizabeth.
Sonny: Somebody else is sick?
Emily: It's Courtney.
Sonny: She just had her baby. It's a little boy.
Carly: It's too soon. Is he ok?
Emily: He's -- um -- he's dangerously premature, but he's hanging in. Um -- I'm so sorry.
Carly: No. No. Not Courtney.
Sonny: What happened?
Emily: Her fever spiked and -- uh -- after the C-section, she was too weak to fight it.
Carly: No, she's wrong, Sonny! You're -- you're making a mistake!
Emily: Carly, Elizabeth was the attending nurse. She was there through the whole thing. I'm so sorry.
Carly: Oh, my God.
Jax: Hey, John. You're fighting pretty hard there, aren't you? There's something that you need to know. Your mother loves you. She didn't get to hold you or count your little fingers and toes, but she loves you very much. Now, here's the deal, ok? I'm going to promise to -- to do the -- do the right thing by her; what she would've wanted. But you have to promise me to live -- for her. Ok? For her.
Nikolas: How is he?
Jax: He's -- he's holding on.
Jax: No sign of the fever yet, so --
Nikolas: Did I interrupt a little father-son talk?
Jax: His name is John.
Jax: Courtney picked it. Yeah, it's after my father.
Nikolas: That's nice. Look at him. He's already a little whole person, huh?
Jax: Yeah, it's a miracle.
Nikolas: Yeah. You know, I keep thinking that there's no way Courtney can be gone, you know, that she's just a heartbeat away. And then -- then I realize that that heartbeat is this little boy's entire life, a life measured in minutes.
Jax: You know, I can give this -- this baby the world -- what Courtney would've wanted.
Nikolas: Listen, I know that this is probably not the best time, but -- I don't know -- I got the feeling that -- that Courtney wanted to tell me something before she died. Do you have any idea what that might be?
Danny: I don't feel so good, Sam. I keep having bad dreams.
Sam: I know. But we are going to get you some really good medicine, and you're going to get all well again, ok?
Monica: Sam, what are you doing out of bed?
Sam: Monica, Danny is worse.
Jason: Monica, Robin has refused the antidote. She said it should go to somebody who really needs it. Can you talk to Patrick about Danny? Can you --
Monica: Jason, it isn't that simple. Alexis is also at the same critical point.
Nurse: Mr. Scorpio, you have a call, someone asking about a shipment you received? Line four.
Robert: Ok. Now, what is it you want from us? Talk to me! Who are you?
Holly: [Disguised voice] It doesn't matter who I am, Robert Scorpio.
Robert: Do I know you?
Holly: I saw you on television. Did you get my little gift?
Robert: Yeah, we've used it, we need more.
Holly: I know. It's very sad.
Robert: How much?
Holly: $1 million a dose.
Robert: Is that the going price for a life these days?
Holly: Oh, you think it's worth more? People will die if you don't move quickly. It's up to you. As a gesture of good faith, I'll get you one more dose for the first million. Then you start buying in bulk.
Robert: Where do we meet?
Holly: I'll call again. You'd better play it my way, or I'll disappear and I'll take the antidote with me.
Robert: I don't suppose you've got a million bucks lying about?
Luke: I can sure as hell find somebody who does.
Jax: Courtney was determined to save the baby. There was no choice for her. She had to have the C-section and pray that the baby hadn't been infected. I couldn't talk her out of it.
Nikolas: I -- no, I don't think that that's what she was trying to tell me, though.
Jax: Courtney's last words were "I love you." She said that to you, Cassadine. What more do you want? You have that to hold on to. What's left for me is to figure out how to make things ok for Courtney’s son.
Sonny: I feel like I need -- I want to say something.
Carly: Go --
Sonny: I don't usually say anything.
Carly: Just say it.
Sonny: Hey. I was never any good at this brother-sister thing, you know? Um- I didn't know how to listen, how to be there when you needed me, or back off when you didn’t. I thought eventually that I would figure it out -- you know, how to become a good brother, have patience, forgiving -- I mean, I thought, you know, in time that would happen. Well, we ran out of time. You were a good sister when I let you be. Michael and Morgan loved their aunt. You were an amazing daughter, and you would've been an amazing mother. I just want you to know that when you left this earth, so many people loved you.
Carly: You know, you weren't just my best girlfriend. You were the only girl that I never felt like I had to compete with. You weren't afraid of me, and I loved that. Whenever I pushed, you pushed back. And you never judged me. You know, Sonny was right. You never got back everything that you gave out. And now it's too late. It's too late to be as kind and as loving and as patient as you were with me. But there is one thing I can do for you, Courtney. Your beautiful baby boy is struggling for his life. Your little son, a born fighter. When he gets better and when he gets healthy, I promise you that he is going to know you, and that he is going to be loved and he is going to be cherished. And I promise you, my best girlfriend, that he will always have me to count on.
Mike: Hey. I thought you went home.
Sonny: I did. I just came back for Courtney.
Mike: Oh, I was waiting for someone to come by and tell me what my newest grandbaby is. You know, between us, I -- I was hoping for a little girl. You know, someone I can spoil rotten the way I wanted to with Courtney.
Sonny: It's a boy. Courtney had a boy.
Mike: Oh, good. Well, that's fine. He's -- he's ok, right?
Sonny: He's -- he's struggling, but they think he's going to make it.
Mike: And I got -- I got to see Courtney before they wheeled her in. She was nervous and I told her everything was going to be just fine. She waited too long for this baby not to do right by it.
Sonny: Hey, Mike, you got to listen to me. You got to listen to me.
Mike: All right, but does he look like her? Because she was such a beautiful baby. She had blond curls and huge blue eyes.
Sonny: Courtney didn't make it. Courtney's dead.
Mike: Get out.
Sonny: I'm sorry.
Mike: Get out. Courtney meant nothing to you. She was like something on the bottom of your shoe. You couldn't even -- you couldn't even find it in your own heart to embrace your sister, so don't stand there and act like you're sorry. Don't pretend to grieve with me. And what they say is true -- only the good die young -- and somehow a selfish bastard like you gets to live forever. Get out of her, Michael. Get out of here! Just leave me alone! Get out of here!
Emily: Nikolas? I'm so sorry. Do you want to be alone?
Sam: How's Alexis?
Alexis: Hmm, not so good, but thanks for asking.
Sam: Danny is in really bad shape, too. And the doctor said that there's only one dose of the antidote left, and they are deciding between you and my brother, Danny.
Sonny: I'm glad you made it in one piece, you and Carly.
Jason: Yeah, she kept it interesting.
Sonny: Do you know about Courtney?
Jason: Last I heard, she left town to have her baby.
Sonny: Yeah, she came to town -- I don't know when. She got the virus, and the baby was at risk. She -- she had a caesarean.
Jason: Oh, she had the baby?
Sonny: Yeah, she had a little boy. Um -- the baby's in I.C.U., and he -- he stands a chance, but --
Jason: What? What?
Sonny: Courtney died shortly after giving birth.
Sam: Alexis, Robin Scorpio refused to take her dose. She said that there were other people out there who needed it more than she did. Please, if you refuse, they will give it to Danny. I know they will; they will give it to my brother.
Ric: Oh, for God's sake, Sam.
Sam: I am asking Alexis to save my brother's life! He has no one to fight for him, Ric!
Ric: It's not up to -- it's not up to Alexis, all right? It's the doctor's decision.
Sam: Can you at least think about it, please?
Ric: Will you just leave Alexis alone? She wouldn't ask you to refuse the antidote for Danny so that she could live, so don't ask her to do the same thing. It's not fair!
Sam: I don't care about what's fair! My brother is going to die!
Ric: Sam, you need to calm down. Sam, please -- Jason --
Sam: Alexis is a mother and a wife and I understand that!
Ric: She's trying to guilt Alexis into refusing the antidote.
Sam: He has nobody but me!
Ric: Will you stop her, please?
Sam: You can save him!
Ric: Look at her.
Sam: You're stronger than him! You owe me, Alexis! You owe me!
Ric: Will you get her out of here?
Jason: Hey! Stop --
Sam: Stem cells! My baby saved you -- my baby saved your baby!
Jason: Come on --
Sam: Alexis, please! I'm begging you! Jason, please. Alexis -- Alexis, you owe me. You owe me! No!
Ric: Shh. It's ok, it's ok. It's all right. It's ok.
Carly: Is that Courtney’s little boy?
Elizabeth: You're back. Where's Lucky? The last time I talked to him I couldn't understand a thing.
Carly: He's fine. He made it through the fever and he's on his way back to you.
Elizabeth: With the antidote?
Carly: Oh, we're tracking a shipment that's coming somewhere here in Port Charles. But it's not going to get here in time to bring that little boy's mother back.
Elizabeth: I'm sorry, Carly. I know how close you were to Courtney. Why don't you go meet her new son?
Jax: His lungs are clear, and there's no sign of the fever so -- but, you know, he's a preemie, so there are lots of other things to worry about.
Carly: Have you held him?
Jax: No. I don't want to do that without a doctor's permission.
Carly: No, we should talk to somebody, because this little guy needs to bond with his father -- and me.
Jax: He does?
Carly: I made a promise to his mother.
Sonny: Hi. Nikolas, I just want to say that I know my sister loved you, and I didn't give that the respect it deserved. For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry. I just want to say that, you know, no matter what I thought, it does not change the fact that you loved each other.
Nikolas: You have no idea. I didn't even know how much until just now.
Luke: I just checked with the bank. Alcazar wasn't kidding. The money's on its way.
Robert: You know, when I find out who's running this scam, I'm going to hand them up as an accessory for Tony Jones' death, and any other luckless citizen who happens to die from this epidemic. Well, this is where you stumble forth with one of those gushing platitudes about my kid making it.
Luke: You forget -- I don't gush and I hate platitudes.
Robert: Line four?
Holly: [Disguised voice] Do you have the money?
Robert: I will within the hour.
Holly: Excellent. Meet me at Pier 52 at 11:00. Come alone.
Robert: One hour.
Luke: I assume you're going alone?
Robert: I wouldn't think of it. Change your outfit.
Luke: Huh. Just like old times, huh?
Patrick: Good news, Alexis. You get the antidote.
Ric: Thank God.
Alexis: What about Sam’s brother?
Ric: Alexis, Dr. Drake made a decision here, ok? It's not up to us to second-guess him.
Alexis: I have two little girls. I was raised without a mother and I can't -- I can't do that to them.
Ric: Alexis --
Alexis: I'm sure there's other people that deserve this --
Ric: No, no, no, no.
Alexis: Like Ric.
Ric: No. I'm not as sick as you are.
Alexis: I can't leave my children.
Ric: You're not going to, all right? Alexis, look at me. This is the right decision.
Patrick: Get some rest. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Ric: Thanks, doctor. It's ok. Shh. Close your eyes. Close your eyes.
Sam: If they would've picked Danny, they would've been here by now. Alexis could've refused to take the antidote -- Robin did -- but how -- why -- why would I expect Alexis to be so unselfish?
Jason: Hey, hey, just -- you got to try to calm down for Danny’s sake.
Sam: Jason, he is so sweet. He is so sweet and helpless. And I can't stand to see him suffer. I was supposed to take care of him; I was supposed to protect him.
Sam: Hi. Hey, I'm here.
Danny: I'm not scared if you're here. You're my little sister.
Sam: Well, that's why you have to get better. Because I need you.
Danny: Mom and dad told me when they brought you home; they said they picked you special to be my little sister. They chose you just for me.
Sonny: When I told Jason about Courtney, I couldn't help but remember the fights we used to get in about their relationship. I was sure it was a mistake. All I wanted to do was protect her. All the good it did. My sister died. Not a damn thing I could do to stop it. All the fighting in the world -- all it did was get in the way of two people who wanted to love each other. It is nobody's place to decide how we should be happy and who we should be happy with.
Nikolas: We were supposed to have so much more than this. We were supposed to have years of love and joy and so much to do together, you know? So much to learn from each other. And I -- I wanted you to teach me how to cook -- you know, I'm a -- I'm a terrible cook. I don't even think that -- that you knew that about me. I don't think that you did. I remember when you told me how you used to stand on the beach and look out across the water and wonder what was waiting, who -- who was waiting on the other side. And I realized that that was me on the other side, looking back at you, asking the same question. You changed -- changed my life, Courtney, you did. You taught me how to live in the moment. And that -- that was really important to me. Because in the end, I guess -- I guess a moment is all we really have, right? God, I love you.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Alexis: This antidote may have come too late.
Robin: I need to know what I'm up against.
Sam: Don't you dare leave me.
Robert: You've been in the lab. You must've seen something.
Jason: How do I know I'd be telling the right person?
Carly: It's our job you get what Courtney would've wanted.
Jax: There's something that I need to tell you.
